Netanyahu: Tel Aviv Stabbing Attack is the Work of the PA-Passenger on Tel Aviv bus tells Arutz Sheva the terrorist wielded a 'huge knife,' bus was 'full of screams and blood.'By Benny Toker, Ari Yashar-First Publish: 1/21/2015, 11:12 AM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has responded to the attack on a bus in Tel Aviv Wednesday morning, in which an Arab terrorist stabbed at least 12 people, seriously wounding three and moderately wounding four others, with an additional five lightly wounded."The attack is a direct result of the toxic incitement spread by the Palestinian Authority (PA) against Jews and their state," charged Netanyahu, joining other MKs who earlier placed the blame squarely on PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas's shoulders."The same terror tries to harm us in Paris, in Brussels and every other place," said Netanyahu. "Those rushing to welcome this act are Hamas, the unity government partner of Abu Mazen (Abbas). This is the same Hamas that said it will sue Israel in the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague."Ilanit, one of the passengers on the number 40 line Dan bus where the attack occurred, told Arutz Sheva about the horrific experience in which she saw the terrorist, a 23-year-old Arab attacker from Tulkarem in Samaria who was in Israel illegally, stab other passengers."I was on the bus - it was 7:30 in the morning," said Ilanit. "Suddenly I heard screams, and I suddenly saw someone next to the driver with a huge knife, stabbing the driver and stabbing the people, and people ran to the back and he ran after other people, and people were covered in blood."Ilanit succeeded in escaping from the rear door of the bus that was pushed open."The bus continued driving and couldn't stop because the driver was wounded, somehow we opened the door by pushing and people fell out and ran for cover, and then I called the police; I saw horrific sights. We opened the door by pushing, it (the bus) was full of people and full of screams," she said. The passenger on the ill-fated bus told Arutz Sheva she wasn't ready to travel to the hospital yet and preferred to stay at home to calm down from the harrowing experience." Now I ran from there directly home, how will I got to work like this; G-d protected me," she said. "From now on I'm afraid to ride a bus, I took a taxi home; what I want is to be at home, I didn't want to go to the hospital, I didn't want anything."Describing her situation, Ilanit added "I was wounded a bit in the knees, maybe afterwards I'll go to Wolfson (Hospital), but now I want first of all to go home and calm down with my husband."The attacker, after stabbing several more victims on the street, fled to an adjacent street where he was shot in the leg and arrested by the Israel Prisons Service's elite Nachshon unit, members of which happened to be driving behind the bus when the attack took place.Netanyahu added "I just spoke with the head of the Israel Prison Service Nahshon unit, Menashe Ganish, and I praised the determined action by the unit's fighters, who saved many lives and prevented a worse attack.""We will continue to take strong action against the terrorism that has been trying to attack us since the founding of the state, and we will see to it that it does not achieve its goal," concluded the prime minister.

Police Deploy Nationwide in Fear of Follow-up Attack-Police have raised the level of precaution throughout the country in the wake of the terror attack in Tel Aviv.By Moshe Cohen-First Publish: 1/21/2015, 11:46 AM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS
Police have raised the level of precaution throughout the country in the wake of the terror attack in Tel Aviv Wednesday, with officers to be deployed in large numbers at sites throughout the country where large numbers of people pass through or gather, as well as at other sensitive sites. The increased precautions may include police setting up roadblocks at the entrances to cities, increased requests to search vehicles, and larger numbers of street patrols in city centers, malls, and train stations. The decision to raise the precaution level was taken by Police Chief Yohanan Danino, after meeting with top officials.Danino praised the behavior of police in the wake of the attack, saying "Israel police will continue to ensure the safety of Israelis throughout the country."A team from the Israel Prisons Service's elite Nachshon unit happened to be driving behind the bus when the attack took place on Hamasger Street in central Tel Aviv. The officers got out of the car and gave chase to the terrorist, shot him in the leg and arrested him.Tel Aviv wasn't the only tension spot in Israel on Wednesday.Rioting is expected for a third night in Rahat and other Negev Bedouin towns, as residents continue to blame police for the death of Sami al-Jaar, a Rahat resident who was shot and killed during a drug raid. Bedouin Arabs threw rocks, bricks and explosives at police, claiming that police were “inciting” riots by their presence.Police released footage Tuesday showing mobs of Arabs attempting to break the windows of a police car on Sunday after al-Jaar's funeral, with the five officers inside in danger of being lynched, a police spokesperson said.Rioters on Tuesday launched a fusillade of rocks and Molotov cocktails targeting the officers in addition to an explosive that was lobbed. Four minors were arrested on suspicion of throwing rocks; one of them was wounded by the rocks they were throwing and required medical aid, after which he was brought in for investigation as well.Danino had arrived at the station in Rahat earlier Tuesday where he was given a tour by the regional chief Yoram Halevi of the preparations by police forces in the unstable region. He called on Bedouin leaders to urge their communities to show restraint.Yet another tense spot in Israel Wednesday was in the north of the country, which is on edge in anticipation of a possible – or even likely - terror attack by Hezbollah, after IDF forces eliminated a terror squad on the Golan Heights Monday.Roads in the area of the Israel-Lebanon border have been closed, and on Tuesday tanks and armored personnel carriers were deployed along the northern border. Lebanese media outlets are reporting Israeli jets and helicopters over the Har Dov area along the Lebanese border.
Saved from the Stabbing Thanks to Rosh Chodesh Prayers-Shmuel, who works right by the site of the Tel Aviv attack, tells Arutz Sheva he arrived moments after thanks to Jewish new month prayers.By Chaim Lev, Ari Yashar-First Publish: 1/21/2015, 11:57 AM- SRAEL NATIONAL NEWS
The stabbing attack on a number 40 line bus in the heart of Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning has left at least 12 wounded, three of them seriously, but one man was saved from the bloody stabbing due to it being Rosh Chodesh - the Jewish new month. The month of Sh'vat on the Jewish calendar began on Wednesday, and along with it Jews inserted additional prayers to the morning service. That fact potentially saved Shmuel, a hareidi resident of Tel Aviv who works in the area of the attack and arrived just moments after the terrorist was subdued."Every morning I pass the intersection in the area at 7:30 (a.m.)," he told Arutz Sheva. "This morning I was a few minutes late due to the relatively long Rosh Chodesh prayers."Shmuel said "when I hear that passersby who came across the path of the knife-wielding terrorist were stabbed and collapsed, I get shivers from the knowledge that I was supposed to be there, (but) I wasn't at the incident itself.""I arrived at the intersection minutes afterwards," he said. "When I arrived there I saw the wounded receiving initial medical treatment from the rescue forces, and the police started to close the area."The intersection where the attack occurred, on Begin Road near Beit Maariv, is a very central location in the heart of Tel Aviv according to Shmuel, who said hundreds of people are at the site every day at that hour of the morning."This is the center of the city. The nerve center of Tel Aviv," he stressed. However he added that unfortunately no one was really surprised by the attack, as terrorism has reached Tel Aviv on frequent occasions during such times of security turbulence.Shmuel concluded "there isn't really anything to be done. This is the reality of our lives. This is the tense routine and not only in Tel Aviv. Also in the south, also in Jerusalem. No one is really surprised here with the background security tension in which we are living."
