Make no mistake: China’s incursions into our airspace look like a prelude to an attack.The Chinese balloon we shot down on Feb. 4 lingered over Malmstrom Air Force Base, the site of approximately a third of America’s land-based intercontinental ballistic missiles. The balloon then flew near both F. E. Warren and Minot Air Force bases, which house the remainder of America’s Minutemen III wings. The balloon also passed close to Whiteman Air Force Base, home to the nuclear-capable B-2 bomber fleet, and Offutt Air Force Base, the headquarters of Strategic Command, which controls US nuclear weapons.This path suggests China is gathering intelligence for either a first or second strike on America’s nukes.Whatever China is planning, the violation of American territorial airspace was blatant and revealed the dangerous mentality of Chinese ­leadership.chinese ballon-The balloons are stirring concern and uneasiness about China’s intentions toward America.There are several alternative explanations for why Beijing engaged in such a brazen act at this moment. Was it simply the enormous magnitude and violence of the quake, or is the problem with the buildings? The body is then wrapped in a shroud and buried as soon as possible — usually on the same day as the person's death.Final prayers are conducted by an Imam or someone with the knowledge and experience required.But in many areas isolated by the earthquake, footage showed bodies being taken from the rubble, wrapped in blankets or bed sheets and transported directly for burial.The IDDEF — a Turkish organisation that provides international support for education and funds Islamic schools all over the world — has turned its efforts toward aid, including funeral aid.Speaking from Istanbul, IDDEF representative Omer Hascicek said as of Tuesday they had sent 137 trucks full of aid, including food, water, generators, fuel, 34,000 blankets, 250 tents and 10 tons of burial cloth to earthquake-stricken areas of Türkiye."We're able to give 14,000 people soup and breakfast every morning," Mr Hascicek told the ABC, adding they had about 600 personnel assisting in the field.Those personnel include many women trained in washing and preparing female bodies for burial."And most of our employees are people who have experience in Islamic knowledge. UNITED NATIONS — The UN Secretary-General warned Tuesday that global warming could force a mass exodus “on a biblical scale” as people flee low-lying communities and called for legal frameworks to be implemented in preparation, especially for refugees.“The danger is especially acute for nearly 900 million people who live in coastal zones at low elevations — that’s one out of ten people on Earth,” Antonio Guterres told the United Nations Security Council.“Low-lying communities and entire countries could disappear forever… We would witness a mass exodus of entire populations on a biblical scale,” he said.It is not only small island states at risk as sea levels rise, he added.Countries such as Bangladesh, China, India, and the Netherlands are all in danger, Guterres said, while “mega-cities on every continent will face serious impacts” — from Cairo to Jakarta to Los Angeles to Copenhagen.The UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says sea levels rose by 15-25 centimeters (6-10 inches) between 1900 and 2018.If the world warms by just two degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit) compared to the pre-industrial era, then those levels will rise again by 43 centimeters by the year 2100.But if it warms by three or four degrees Celsius, sea levels could rise by as much as 84 centimeters, the IPCC says.The problem must be addressed “across legal and human rights frameworks,” Guterres warned.Rising sea levels mean shrinking land mass, he said, which could drive possible disputes over land and maritime space.“The current legal regime must look to the future and address any gaps in existing frameworks,” including in international refugee law, he said.It must also provide for the future of states that face losing their land territory completely.Guterres said the Security Council has a “critical” role to play in addressing “the devastating security challenges arising from rising seas.”The issue has been controversial in the past: In 2021, Russia vetoed a resolution linking climate change and global security, which was supported by the majority of the council members.

"It's really not unusual to see brief heatwaves moving through," Ms Bradbury says."A heatwave is defined over a three-day period; it's not a one-off hot day."It's much more significant for WA."It is a hot part of Australia, but this has been a very persistent heatwave."Are we still in a La Niña? Yep."It's definitely still having an impact," Ms Bradbury says. Hail up to 3 centimetres was reported at Highfields and 5cm at Kingsthorpe.On the Sunshine Coast, the downpour caused flash flooding in parts of Maroochydore.Thousands of Energex customers across Brisbane, Logan and the Sunshine Coast were left without power from the storm, with emergency repairs being carried out in several locations.Energex has recorded about 205,000 lightning strikes across south-east Queensland since 2pm.
