I have to give credit where it is due- this false flag military coup in Turkey was a brilliant move by the Sultan aspirant Turkish President Erdogan at consolidating his power and furthering his goal of creating a neo-Ottoman Islamic super state.No, I do not believe this military coup was an organic uprising. They worked together in the Protestant Reformation, World War I, World War II, and against the influence of the Catholic Church in Europe.-Turkey and Russia are historical enemies, and Russo-Turkish relations are at a historic low. The Russian government’s sanctions against Turkey have destroyed the Turkish economy and Turkey is desperate to recover.-Germany wants a war with Russia because, as we have discussed at Shoebat.com, it is trying to reassert its imperial past, and part of that includes conquering territories it has fought over against Russia since at least the year 1190.Looking at these facts, and because there were still a lot of details that were not clear, I also had a series of questions about this coup:-Who was behind the coup? -What is the end goal of the coup?-What is President Erdogan saying and doing?-What is Russia saying?-What is Germany saying?-What is the public response to the coup?-What is the government’s response?-What is the military’s response?-What is anybody else saying or doing in reference to this coup? Looking at all of the information, and given the obscurity of data, it became clear that until some of these questions were answered, at least in part, it would not be possible to get a clearer look at the situation and assess what is really happening. But as an initial analysis, I had two possible scenarios.The first scenario assumes that the coup was truly an act of the military against the government. This could be organized by solely the military, or it could be “influenced” by either the Germans or the Russians. Each group would have competing interests for why they would do it, but the point would be in any case to get control over Turkey in order to use that nation for a greater geopolitical end.The second scenario is that the coup was a false flag event- it would be the government using the military to attack itself designed by nothing other than Erdogan himself. The goal would be to give the appearance of a rebellion, orchestrated at the hands of a few expendable officers, after which the coup would be violently crushed and Erdogan would re-emerged as a “victorious leader” around which people would rally. This would allow him to consolidate his power, purge his enemies with public support, and further his Islamist visions.As the day passed, the events of the coup went as follows with an approximate timeline:-1200 News emerges that a military coup is taking place in Turkey--2000 Turkish government confirms a coup in taking place--2030 Erodgan reported as being safe, several military officers supposedly taken “hostage”-2100 Turkish government seized media outlets-2130 Turkish government says it is still in power, tells people to “protest” the coup, says the coup will be stopped-2200 Turkish government blames the Gulen movement for the coup-2315 Gulen movement denies involvement-2345 Turkey blames Gulen movement again-0100 Crowds greet a “victorious” President Erdogan as he “bravely” returns to Turkey and encourages Turkish solidarity-This was all I needed to make my conclusions, because with this short timeline, one can observe the following-1) An entire military coup went from start to fail in scarcely 12 hours. Military coups often times last for at the very least days, and many times can take weeks or even months. And this entire coup is over in barely half a day? Very suspicious. 2) The people are rising up and defeating the soldiers. In a real military coup, anybody who opposes the coup is violently destroyed. They do not allow the vulgar masses to rise up and crush them like what happened today in Turkey, but they rather do what happened at Tiananmen Square in China in 1989- the military just runs over the protestors and keeps going. 3) After the “coup,” Erdogan’s supporters rushed to him and rallied around him as he suddenly “emerges victorious” and promises to make Turkey stronger and better and purge his enemies. As expected, in a pattern often reproduced in many false flag attacks, the “victorious underdog” Erdogan has now become the “winner” that everybody looks to and will support his decisions without questioning them. 4) Erdogan blamed the Gulen movement consistently for the coup. This was the absolute dead give away. We have reported on Shoebat.com that Erdogan has been caught attempting false flag attacks against the Gulen movement, including the faked assassination attempt of his own son, because they are a hindrance to his Ottoman dream. The Gulen movement is not good, as it is Islamist. However, it is an obstacle to Erdogan, and he has wanted Gulen’s influence destroyed since at least 2013. The issue here, just with the ousting of Ahmet Davutoglu, is about Erdogan’s power- he wants no obstacle whatsoever to his ascendancy to the Caliphate.Erdogan has already encouraged people to call him god as well as the new great leader of the Muslim world. ANKARA, Turkey - Forces loyal to Turkey's president quashed a coup attempt in a night of explosions, air battles and gunfire that left dozens dead Saturday. Authorities arrested thousands of people as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan vowed those responsible "will pay a heavy price for their treason."The chaos capped a period of political turmoil in Turkey — a NATO member and key Western ally in the fight against the Islamic State group — that critics blame on Erdogan's increasingly authoritarian rule. He has shaken up the government, cracked down on dissidents, restricted the news media and renewed conflict with Kurdish rebels.Pressure has also come from millions of refugees who have fled violence in neighbouring Syria and Iraq, and a series of bloody attacks blamed on the Islamic State group and Kurdish rebels.Erdogan was on a seaside vacation when tanks rolled into the streets of Ankara and Istanbul. He flew home early Saturday and declared the coup to have failed.The uprising appears not to have been backed by the most senior ranks of the military, and Turkey's main opposition parties quickly condemned the attempted overthrow of the government. ISTANBUL/ANKARA (Reuters) - Turkey's military said on Friday it had seized power, but President Tayyip Erdogan said the attempted coup would be put down.If successful, the overthrow of Erdogan, who has ruled Turkey since 2003, would be one of the biggest shifts in the Middle East in years, transforming one of the most important U.S. allies in the region while war rages on its border."We will overcome this," Erdogan said, speaking by mobile phone to the Turkish sister station of CNN. He called on his followers to take to the streets to defend his government and said the coup plotters would pay a heavy price.Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said the elected government remained in office. However, it appeared that those behind the coup had the upper hand initially.Aiports were shut, access to Internet social media sites was cut off, and troops sealed off the two bridges over the Bosphorus in Istanbul, one of which was still lit up red, white and blue in solidarity with victims of the Bastille Day truck attack in France a day earlier.Warplanes and helicopters roared over the capital Ankara.Soldiers took control of TRT state television, which announced a countrywide curfew and martial law. An announcer read a statement on the orders of the military that accused the government of eroding the democratic and secular rule of law. The country would be run by a "peace council" that would ensure the safety of the population, the statement said.-TRT later went off the air.-U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, speaking jointly after talks in Moscow, both said they hoped bloodshed would be avoided. The U.S. State Department said Americans in Turkey should shelter indoors. Other countries issued similar advice.Turkey, a NATO member with the second biggest military in the Western alliance, is one of the most important allies of the United States in the fight against Islamic State, which seized swathes of neighbouring Syria and Iraq.Turkey is one of the main backers of opponents of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in that country's civil war, host to 2 million Syrian refugees and launchpad for the biggest influx of migrants to Europe since World War Two.Celebratory gunfire erupted in Syria's capital Damascus as word got out that Erdogan had been toppled, and people took the streets to celebrate there and in the government-held section of the divided city of Aleppo.Turkey has been at war with Kurdish separatists, and has suffered numerous bombing and shooting attacks this year, including an attack two weeks ago by Islamists at Istanbul's main airport that killed more than 40 people.A senior EU source monitoring the situation said: "It looks like a relatively well orchestrated coup by a significant body of the military, not just a few colonels. They've got control of the airports and are expecting control over the TV station imminently. They control several strategic points in Istanbul."Given the scale of the operation, it is difficult to imagine they will stop short of prevailing. It's not just a few colonels," the source repeated.One European diplomat was dining with the Turkish ambassador to a European capital when guests were interrupted by the pinging of urgent news on their mobile phones."This is clearly not some tinpot little coup. The Turkish ambassador was clearly shocked and is taking it very seriously," the diplomat told Reuters as the dinner party broke up. "However it looks in the morning, this will have massive implications for Turkey. This has not come out of nowhere."In an statement sent by email and reported on TV channels, the military said it had taken power to protect the democratic order and to maintain human rights. All of Turkey's existing foreign relations would be maintained and the rule of law would remain the priority, it said.The state-run Anadolu news agency said the chief of Turkey's military staff was among people taken "hostage" in the capital Ankara. CNN Turk also reported that hostages were being held at the military headquarters.After serving as prime minister from 2003, Erdogan was elected president in 2014 with plans to alter the constitution to give the previously ceremonial presidency far greater executive powers.His AK Party, with roots in Islamism, has long had a strained relationship with the military and nationalists in a state that was founded on secularist principles after World War One. The military has a history of mounting coups to defend secular principles, but has not seized power directly since 1980.Yildirim said a group within Turkey's military had attempted to overthrow the government and security forces have been called in to "do what is necessary"."Some people illegally undertook an illegal action outside of the chain of command," Yildirim said in comments broadcast by private channel NTV."The government elected by the people remains in charge. ANKARA, Turkey - A group within Turkey's military has engaged in what appeared to be an attempted coup, the prime minister said, with military jets flying over the capital and reports of vehicles blocking two major bridges in Istanbul.Prime Minister Binali Yildirim told private NTV television: "it is correct that there was an attempt," when asked if there was a coup.Yildirim didn't provide details, but said Turkey would never allow any "initiative that would interrupt democracy.""We are focusing on the possibility of an attempt (coup)," Yildirim said. "There was an illegal act by a group within the military that was acting out of the chain of military command. Our people should know that we will not allow any activity that would harm democracy."Earlier, military jets were heard flying over the capital, Ankara. Media reports said ambulances were seen in front of the Turkish military headquarters. NTV is reporting that helicopters are also flying over headquarters in Ankara."There are certain groups who took the arms trusted to them by the state and pointed them toward state employees," Yildirim said. "We shall determine soon who they are. Our security forces have acted against these groups."The Dogan news agency says one-way traffic on the Bosporus and Fatih Sultan Mehmet bridges were blocked. Video footage showed the bridge being blocked by military vehicles.
