This Friday, November 19th, the government of Wichita will put myself and the Gospel of the Lord Jesus on Trial. On August 27th of this year, 14 courageous Saints went to the local Islamic Society mosque to share the Good News of the Lord with people desperately in need of His grace. The Islamists called the police and when they arrived the police came directly to the drive in which myself and John and Ray were witnessing at (note: the police never even addressed the Saints at the other two drives who were doing the same thing). While standing on the sidewalk we would offer the Gospel of John and the Book of Romans in Arabic and English to those walking by and driving out.While the police were on seen a bit later the Captain...Easter arrived, came straight to me and told me I could not stand there and block traffic. I told him he could see for himself that I was standing on the public sidewalk and no vehicles were being blocked. He then told me I had to walk, I did walk to the side then when I turned around to walk back, he arrested me. What horrible crime was I charged with? Loitering and failure to disburse. Yup... loitering.When I first called the police to get the police reports I received one page. Just today the prosecution handed me 21 pages... hummm. 21 pages for... loitering??

Not 2, not 4, but 5 police officers including one captain and one Islamist are subpoenaed to testify against me. The police originally charged me with two charges. I just found out today that the City Prosecutor has added one or two more charges. America is devouring itself. I, an American/Wichita born, Wichita raised, Christian citizen am being forced by my own government to stand trial for the crime of preaching the Gospel of our Lord. And the governments witnesses against me are my own government and an Islamist. America is devouring itself.I will be defending myself. The pastor of a Wichita, Kan., church who has spoken on public streets against homosexuality, the influence of abortion interests in his state and other biblical issues says he has been convicted on charges related to his decision to hand out Bibles at a Muslim mosque – in a courtroom staffed and filled with Christians.The counts against Pastor Mark Holick of Spirit One Christian Center, known as the church without walls, technically were two counts of loitering and one count of disrupting a business.He was convicted by a six-member jury in Wichita District Court and today was sentenced to a $300 fine, a year of probation and ordered not to be within 1,000 feet of the Islamic center where last fall he handed out pamphlets containing portions of the Bible.What's going on in America's courts? Find out in Betrayed by the Bench.What is startling, he told the judge and courtroom during a 15-minute statement in court, is that the conviction came about through Christians.

He told the court and judge:Wichita, you are confused, I am not your enemy, Islam is.
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.Islamists believe that it is okay to lie if it is to help in the cause of Allah.My own government called a foreign Islamist to testify for them against me, a born American, Christian peacefully handing out free Bibles.How sad, how incredibly sad.The arresting officer said he is Christian.The court/judge says it/he is Christian.The prosecutor says he is Christian.The city attorney says he is Christian.Four of the six jurors say they are Christian.And I have been convicted for handing out free Bibles.Judgment must and will begin in the house of the Lord.But it is okay, for on judgment day when I am asked if there is enough evidence to convict me as a Christian I will off[er] this arrest, this prosecution, this conviction and this sentence,he said.WND previously reported on the dispute that brought Holick into court again. At the time of his arrest, he warned that Islamic law, Shariah, is creeping into American through preferential treatment provided by law enforcement and the courts.Today, he told WND that he was handing out a book containing English and Arabic versions of the biblical books of John and Romans, as well as a DVD containing testimony from former Muslims.He said he was able to make the accusation against the court and jurors because of information he's gotten from those who know the arresting officer and the judge and the prosecutor's statement about attending church. Holick said he has dealt with the city attorney in previous cases, and during jury selection four of the six jurors affirmed that they attend a regular Christian service.He said his attorney talked with jurors after the conviction and found out they were swayed by the police statements that Holick didn't move, or didn't move fast enough, when police instructed him.Holick had been handing out the Bible portions on a sidewalk adjacent to the Wichita mosque. He also went into the driveway where it crossed the sidewalk to do the same. It apparently was that action that the police cited for their counts of loitering and obstructing a business. Holick noted, however, there was no testimony that he had obstructed anyone.

According to the report in the Wichita Eagle, Sedgwick County District Judge Phil Journey handed down the sentence to Holick.The only reason you were the one arrested is because you were the only one who disobeyed the police orders, the newspaper reported the judge said.The report also said Journey discussed how the First Amendment assured Holick's right to express his religious beliefs but also allowed laws that would regulate how he practices his faith.A WND message requesting comment from the court left after hours was not returned.Holick told WND he was a little surprised that the judge let him make a 15-minute statement but noted that the judge later stated his disagreement with the pastor's testimony.He had said,This is about an idolatrous government that has rejected the Lord God Jesus. This is about a government that has turned from the Lord God to the many gods of pluralism.Listen to the 911 call by the mosque. Not one reference to any traffic problems, no[t] one indication of cars being blocked. No, it is clear that the reason they called was because – we were there peacefully offering free Bibles,he said.To which the police, city attorney, and courts were all too willing to act with expediency and malice to silence the Gospel of our Lord Jesus.He continued, Rest assured, your actions will have a great chilling effect on the Gospel of our Lord, but I suspect you know that and are glad. Rest assured that this conviction is already running through the Wichita Islamic social network like an August Texas grass fire. Because I use the public sidewalk to offer Bibles to those driving out, I stand here before this magistrate today.He cited a consent decree reached with the city earlier when he previously was arrested for speaking of Christianity in a traditional public forum.

The city paid $11,700 in damages and promised to permit Mark Holick to engage in his First Amendment rights in the future on the same terms and conditions as all other citizens.Honorable men keep their word, Holick said.In that earlier case Holick was arrested by police sharing his religious beliefs on a public sidewalk outside a homosexual festival in the city. He was arrested but, the charges eventually were dropped, and he later brought a civil case.It was settled, and U.S. District Judge Thomas Martin described the arrest:Plaintiff was preparing to share his religious beliefs with others on the public sidewalk near the entrance of Heritage Park in Wichita, Kansas, where a Gay Pride event was about to take place … within 5 minutes of arriving at that location, plaintiff was threatened with arrest if he did not leave, and then immediately arrested when he refused to leave, handcuffed, placed in a squad car in front of members from his church, including adults, youth, and children, processed at the police station by having his mug shot taken, fingers printed, and placed in a cell with others.The judge noted that all charges against Holick later were dismissed, and the civil rights complaint was filed for the wrongful arrest.The defendants do not contest that they violated plaintiff's constitutional rights,the judge wrote.

A Wichita, Kan., pastor who was defending himself on a charge of loitering for passing out Gospel tracts from a public sidewalk at an Islamic mosque is suggesting Shariah is creeping into America through preferential treatment provided by law enforcement and the courts.Pastor Mark Holick of Spirit One Christian Center, who previously challenged Internal Revenue Service mandates that he not comment on politicians' moral values in the midwestern state, was in court for a hearing on the accusation of loitering.He said he was challenging the government's version of events and asking whether it is procedure for captains in the Wichita police department to respond to calls about someone allegedly loitering.I asked them how often a captain answers a call for loitering. He said, Well, I did it when I was an officer,but I said,How many times have you done it as a captain? Holick observed.

I mean, what are the odds that a captain would respond to a call about people passing out the Gospel at a mosque? He was there in five minutes of the call coming in,Holick continued.Holick told WND the episode is evidence Wichita is moving to give wider latitude to Muslims operating mosques in the city.He also believes that the events of the confrontation in August show the city of Wichita is willing to be at the disposal of the Islamic community.Officials at the Islamic Society of Wichita have not responded to a WND request for comment.The case developed when Holick set up a Gospel distribution project on the public sidewalk at the mosque on Aug. 27.
Holick told WND his group stayed on the public sidewalk and at no time attempted to block the drive or prevent any of the mosque's attendees from leaving the parking area.He believes mosque officials themselves called police to have the Christians removed.The captain arrived and told me that I couldn't stand in the driveway and he told me that I had to keep moving. I kept moving and when I turned around, that's when the captain arrested me,Holick explained.Holick says that he tried to defend himself during the court appearance on the accusation of loitering.Probably 75 percent of the questions I would ask were objected to and probably 90 percent of those were sustained. So I was simply not able to ask detailed questions, Holick asserted.He also believes the 30 church members in attendance in the court had an impact.Everybody who's ever been to court knows that when you're defending yourself, it automatically makes the court upset,Holick stated.Then we had a number of our members there and it's just my opinion that he's not used to that. At one point the judge began to talk about how people were attempting to intimidate him, Holick continued.All they were doing is sitting in the court room and I was asking questions. So I think it was just the Christians' presence that made it difficult for him,Holick added.The Wichita Police Department has not responded to inquiries on the case.Holick told WND the result of the recent hearing in Kansas' Sedgwick County District Court was that he was cited for contempt when he angrily responded to court restrictions on his attempts to introduce his arguments.

What we think happens next is that this case has been set aside and is going to have to be retried, I'm guessing. Tropical Storm Lee begins pelting Gulf Coast

NEW ORLEANS – Heavy rains from Tropical Storm Lee were falling in southern Louisiana and pelting the Gulf Coast on Saturday as the storm's center trudged slowly toward land, where businesses were already beginning to suffer on what would normally be a bustling holiday weekend. The storm was expected to drop 10 to 15 inches of rain across southern Louisiana.Tropical storm warning flags were flying from Alabama to Texas and flash flood warnings extended along the Alabama coast into the Florida Panhandle. The storm's slow forward movement means that its rain clouds should have more time to disgorge themselves on any cities in their path.The National Hurricane Center said Lee's center was about 45 miles (72 km) southwest of Morgan City, moving north at 6 mph (9 kph) with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph (97 kph).It was expected to cross the Louisiana coast Saturday and meander through the state's southern parishes through Sunday.They expected the storm to fluctuate in strength through the day, though it was not expected to reach hurricane strength. Its surge was pegged at 4 feet high above normal sea level in Shell Beach, and 2 feet as far east as Pascagoula, Miss.Lee has confounded forecasters since it began developing at midweek and pulled another surprise overnight Friday by coming out of a virtual stall and moving north toward the central Louisiana coast.In New Orleans, sporadic downpours caused some street flooding in low-lying areas early Saturday, but pumps were sucking up the water and sending it into Lake Pontchartrain. Lee's storm surge so far had not penetrated levees along the coast, said National Weather Service forecaster Robert Ricks in Slidell, La.

Ricks said Lee so far has dropped as much as 7 inches of rain in southeast Louisiana and would continue to be a major rainmaker as it moved inland Saturday. The storm was expected to lift erratically to the north through Sunday before being picked up by a cold front and zipped off to the northeast.Tornado warnings were issued overnight in Louisiana and south Mississippi but Ricks said there were no confirmed touchdowns. So far, damage appeared confined to downed power lines and trees.But he cautioned Lee's impact would continue to be felt.In a storm like this, tornadoes can flash up for a few seconds or a minute and be gone. We expect more sightings on Saturday, Ricks said.Ricks said Lee probably had reached its maximum intensity and was unlikely to become a hurricane as it pushes ashore.Earlier it appeared Lee was on track to pass directly through the New Orleans area, but its overnight move caused forecasters to shift its projected track farther to the west. Heavy rain could pelt the Baton Rouge and New Orleans area for the next 36 hours.Entergy, a major utility in the region, reported more than 35,000 customers without power, mostly in the New Orleans area and along the coast. There were scattered outages well inland into central Louisiana and Mississippi.Lee was the first named storm to make landfall in Louisiana since Hurricane Gustav, which struck on Labor Day in 2008.

Gustav provided a major test of rebuilt levee protection in New Orleans, where billions of federal dollars were spent after levees failed during Hurricane Katrina and flooded an estimated 80 percent of the city.On Saturday, levees were holding, though sandbagging had been done in some places as a precaution.Gusty winds whipped through the downtown area, but bridges, including the 24-mile-long Lake Pontchartrain Causeway, remained open to traffic.Though local officials urged residents to prepare for the worst., Lee appeared to be a holiday weekend annoyance for many people. Some didn't expect the tropical storm to live up to the legacy of killer hurricanes like Betsy, Camille and Katrina.It's a lot of rain. It's nothing, nothing to Katrina, said Malcolm James, 59, a federal investigator in New Orleans who lost his home after levees broke during Katrina in August 2005 and had to be airlifted by helicopter.The storm was washing out Labor Day weekend festivities, with cancelations of parades and other events in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores, Ala. In Louisiana, programming was canceled at state parks and historic sites in the southern part of the state.Merchants worried the storm would dampen the Southern Decadence festival, an annual gay lifestyle fixture that rings cash registers on Labor Day weekend in the French Quarter. Ann Sonnier, shift manager of Jester's bar, said receipts were disappointing so far.People are probably scared to death to come here after Katrina,she said.Southern Decadence organizers said events would go on, though many would be moved indoors.Some tourists were caught off guard by Lee, but didn't let it dampen their spirits.I didn't even know about it, said Kyla Holley of Madison, Wis., who along with husband Rob was in town for the Labor Day weekend holiday.But it wouldn't have stopped us from coming.

Lee comes less than a week after Hurricane Irene killed more than 40 people from North Carolina to Maine and knocked out power to millions. It was too soon to tell if Hurricane Katia, out in the Atlantic, could endanger the U.S.The storm's biggest impact, so far, has been in the Gulf of Mexico oil fields. About half the Gulf's normal daily oil production has been cut as rigs were evacuated, though oil prices were down sharply Friday on sour economic news.Federal authorities said 169 of the 617 staffed production platforms have been evacuated, along with 16 of the 62 drilling rigs. That's reduced daily production by about 666,000 barrels of oil and 1.7 billion cubic feet of gas.Governors in Louisiana and Mississippi, as well as the mayor of New Orleans, declared states of emergency. Officials in several coastal Louisiana and Mississippi communities called for voluntary evacuations.The Army Corps of Engineers closed some floodgates along canals but had not moved to shut a massive flood structure on the Mississippi River-Gulf Outlet shipping channel.The MRGO was a major conduit for Katrina's storm surge, which overwhelmed levees and flooded St. Bernard and the city's Lower 9th Ward.Lee's storm surge, projected around 4 to 5 feet, is far short of the 20-feet-plus driven by Katrina. Billions of federal dollars have been spent on new levees and other flood protection. City officials said they were prepared to deal with street flooding.The water-logged Lee was tantalizingly close to Texas but hopes dimmed for relief from the state's worst drought since the 1950s as the storm's forecast track shifted east. On the Mississippi coast, tourism officials said there was no spike in cancellations for the holiday weekend at hotels and casinos.On Grand Isle, Louisiana's only inhabited barrier island, people kept an eye on the storm that was already bringing rain there. It's not as frightening as having a Category 2 or 3 hurricane bearing down, said June Brignac, owner of the Wateredge Beach Resort.But we're still concerned with all the rain that's coming in, causing possible flooding of the highway going out. If we don't leave, we may be trapped here until it's completely past, she said.The rain, however, had a silver lining. NEW ORLEANS (Reuters) – Slow-moving Tropical Storm Lee strengthened as it lumbered toward the Louisiana coast on Saturday, bringing torrential rains that will put the flood defenses of low-lying New Orleans to the test.The storm is expected to reach the Louisiana coast later on Saturday and bring up to 20 inches of rain to southeast Louisiana over the next few days, including to New Orleans, which was battered by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.Lee was 45 miles southwest of Morgan City, with maximum winds of 60 miles per hour, the hurricane center said. Lee's winds were expected to stay below the 74 mph threshold of hurricane strength.But the prospect of flooding in low-lying New Orleans evoked memories of Hurricane Katrina, which flooded 80 percent of the city, killed 1,500 people and caused more than $80 billion in damage. Half of the city lies below sea level and is protected by a system of levees and flood gates.Everything looks pretty good right now, said Ken Holder, spokesman for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, which manages the city's flood defenses.The city's extensive levee system is capable of processing about one inch of rainfall per hour, but the storm's slow-moving nature could bring challenges, officials said.The extended rainfall changes the dynamic a bit and makes it harder to manage over the course of the weekend, said Craig Taffaro, St. Bernard Parish president, speaking on local television.

EVACUATIONS

Low-lying parishes around New Orleans saw rising waters, which covered some roadways in Plaquemines and St. Bernard parishes, but no homes or businesses were threatened. Some residents in Jefferson Parish were ordered to evacuate.We need to get this thing onshore and get it through here, Plaquemines Parish president Billy Nungesser told local television.Lee will weaken once it hits land, but it will lose strength more slowly than normal due to the marshy nature of the Louisiana coast, the hurricane center said.Lee's northeasterly track could bring heavy rains to Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee and the Appalachian Mountains next week.
Major offshore producers like Royal Dutch Shell, Exxon Mobil Corp and BP Plc shut down platforms and evacuated staff earlier this week.About half the U.S. offshore oil production, all based in the Gulf of Mexico, and a third of offshore gas production were shut as of Friday, according to the U.S. government. Most of that output should quickly return once the storm passes.Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal Friday warned that heavy rains, substantial winds and tidal surges from the Gulf of Mexico could produce flash flooding in parts of New Orleans throughout the Labor Day holiday weekend.Meanwhile, Hurricane Katia weakened to near tropical storm strength as it churned in the Atlantic Ocean, 485 miles east-northeast of the northern Leeward Islands. America is perilously looking like a bleeding and dead body, crumpled on the side of the road. It’s blood drains far and wide, being noticed by passers by, countries and leaders. Some stop, trying to help but not knowing just what to do, while others watch from a far entertained by the shock and news of it all. The UN and Obama glory in it all. I know how the dying and dead body looks and feels. It was the end of the summer, August 25th, 2005 that I crashed on my head on the road after a deer jumped on me while riding my motorcycle. It was bad. I was two minutes from death at the scene, my brain was slammed into my skull, almost every bone was crushed on my face, my lungs were rapidly filling up with blood and I was drowning at ths scene. No one expected me ever to recover, certainly return to my national radio show. Well, as usual, even the twisted and broken up Laurie Roth had a mind of her own and wasn’t ready to die just yet. I had things to do and so does America. I had to wipe the blood off and walk forward so does America now. The American people and the world depends us.What does the world see in the bloody display? Some tremble, some are thrilled that the big boy, America is being forced down many notches, most of the people here and abroad simply cry. Freedom and hope are being crushed.I believe our country is lead by a complete fraud and usurper, Obama. He has flipped off the people of America and mocked us again and again on almost too many fronts to count. After years of asking, begging and even suing to see Obama’s long form birth certificate, he showed the nation on April 27th a verified forgery and fraud. No one had a thing to say about it, running for the Presidential nomination or on conservative shows on TV or much of radio. I did. Of course chaos and name calling has been the plan. Confuse and distract the people while creating bad guys to blame for Obama’s obvious destruction and American transformation.

Obama has called the American people names from the beginning, then continuously lied about he and his staff doing it. Remember the leaked and now famous, MIAC report, which called us conservatives, pro lifers, pro second amendment folks, lovers of state and federal sovereignty and returning vets, potential domestic terrorists? As we all know the enemy list built and name calling evolved from terrorists to hostage takers, racists, birthers, and truthers. One of these Obama progressives last year called me the antichrist for challenging the health care bill from hell. I said to him on air that is Dr. antichrist to you.He hung up.Former President Bush was the monster to blame for everything for the first 18 months of the Obama administration. The massive and ongoing recession, the horrible foreclosures, loss of jobs and massive debt…..all Bushes fault. Obama had nothing at all to do with anything, he was the savior and messiah accept of course to the people conservatives Christians Jews and seniors.The favorite weapons of choice now targeting this next 14 months.While the people are distracted with gossip type headlines on Libya (where is Gaddafi; could it be his daughter is alive after all; are we at the last big battle and will Gaddafi surrender in a few days); Obama’s llegal alien Uncle now on the media screen out of nowhere and distractions and entertaining sizzle….what is Obama and his team doing? Obama is now full on with his campaign to attack, shred and destroy the growing Tea Party movement in the country. There are over 100 million of them who are law abiding, country loving patriots who are getting more focused, funded and angry. People are getting elected, the people are realizing their power and that cannot stand. Thus the brazen and recent upswing in attacks by Vice President Biden, calling them terrorists. We heard Congress woman Maxine Waters telling the Tea Party to go straight to hell. Obama just goes around denying that the name calling is happening, hoping the people don’t notice the lying elephants running through the room breaking up the place.How does Obama plan to manipulate back the voting block he is losing, especially from some Democrats and most Independents? He must cause the nation to turn on the Tea party and events. He must build and create out of his contrived book of lies and tricks, RACE WARS. Outstanding commentator, Sher Zieve says this very thing in her most recent and frightening article. The congressional Black caucus is calling Obama thugs to a race war as a key strategy to keep the struggling Obama in power.

As I warned in a previous article, liberty groups, 9/12 groups, Tea Party groups and others peacefully assembling and marching between now and November 2012, know you are the target. You must be stopped. You are representing the national attitude of most Americans and must be viewed as anti American, racist and evil. Being viewed as criminal would also help.I’ll warn you all again! Assemble and go nowhere without massive amounts of cameras, cell phones, security and eyeballs looking everywhere. There will be plants and contrived disruptions planned. You must be very bad, even though America knows you are not and it is Obama and his goons who are bad and becoming desperate.Evil, greed and hate will do what it does. Truth, honor and courage will also do what it does. I say, bring it on Obama. Racial thugs can be combined with union thugs, who have already been successfully deployed against peaceful Tea Party activists.Threats of racial violence will continue to prevent Congressional investigations of Obama’s ineligibility and crimes.
If ordinary Americans retaliate against his campaign of violence, Obama can declare martial law and cancel the 2012 election.If Obama loses in 2012, he will try to use a race war to bring America down with him.It is clear that we have no political leaders willing to state the truth openly, that Obama is a usurper and a criminal.

Global Warming and GOP Politics

Here’s a handy guide to the campaigns to be the Republican candidate in 2012. Any effort to advance the global warming hoax, discredited since 2009 when it was revealed that the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change computer models were all rigged, should disqualify a candidate from serious consideration.Texas Governor Rick Perry is already well ahead of his GOP competitors for the nomination and has actually passed President Obama in a recent poll regarding the voter’s choice in 2012. Much of this can be attributed to his attack on Obama’s failure to stimulate job creation, but his position doubting global warming is a contributing factor.Rep. Michelle Bachmann has also voiced doubts about global warming, but it is former Gov. Mitt Romney who is likely to be the biggest loser on the topic.It is comical that former Vice President Al Gore, the face of the global warming fraud, chimed in back in June to endorse Romney’s global warming position. He praised Romney for not heeding, according to Politico.com, right-wing calls to reject the science behind climate change. There is no valid science behind global warming and never was. Climate change is something that has been on-going for the last 4.5 billion years of the Earth’s existence.The great Flip-Flopper, Romney will prove the biggest loser. At an August town hall meeting in New Hampshire he was asked whether he believed that global warming was real and he responded by saying he didn’t know. Do I think the world’s getting hotter, he asked rhetorically. Yeah, I don’t know that but I think it is, adding that I don’t know if it’s mostly caused by humans.He doesn’t know much on the subject, does he? Well, Mitt, here’s a tip, the Earth has been in a perfectly natural cooling cycle since 1998. Suffice to say, humans have nothing to do with its climate and it should be worrying that Romney doesn’t know this.Worse yet, Romney said I think it’s important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may well be significant contributors to the climate change and global warming you’re seeing. Wrong on all counts!

Jon Huntsman, a former governor of Utah and Obama appointee as ambassador to China, is also in the GOP race, though most Republicans are probably unaware of this. He recently tweated that, To be clear, I believe in evolution and trust scientists on global warming. Call me crazy. Okay, Jon, you’re crazy. To be this massively uninformed and misinformed at this date rules you out of consideration.I do not know the other fading GOP candidates’ position on global warming, but I suspect most of them, if they want any chance to capture the nomination, will flee from suggesting there is a shred of truth to it. At least I hope so.It should be a factor in the GOP choice because the global warming hoax has been the cause of legislative initiatives that have cost Americans billions over the course of many years.As for President Obama, we know all too well that he has been in the tank for global warming along with most environmental claims. For a multiplicity of reasons, he has to GO.

On election night, November 2, 2010, Rep. John Boehner said in his victory speech:
...While our new majority will serve as your voice in the people’s House, we must remember it is the president who sets the agenda for our government. ... [emphasis added]Next morning, Ezra Klein commented in the Cult of the President lives on:I’d like Boehner to show us where in the Constitution it says that the president sets the agenda for the government.But Boehner is not as astute as Ezra Klein, and does not know that it is our Constitution which sets the agenda for the federal government. The agenda the Constitution sets restricts the federal government to war, international relations & commerce; and domestically, the establishment of an uniform commercial system: a monetary system based on gold & silver, weights & measures, patents & copyrights, a bankruptcy code, and mail delivery (Art. I, Sec. 8, cls.1-16). 1 And because none of the House Republicans seem to know that our Constitution sets the agenda, and don’t know that our Constitution also enumerates the powers delegated to the President, they are allowing Obama to carry out his agenda to transform our Country into a fascist dictatorship.

What are the Enumerated Powers of the President?

The powers of the President are carefully limited and precisely defined by our Constitution. In Federalist Paper No. 71 (last para), Alexander Hamilton asks,...what would be ... feared from an elective magistrate of four years’ duration, with the confined authorities of a President of the United States?...[emphasis added] 2 The answer to Hamilton’s question is this: There would be nothing to fear if Presidents obeyed the Constitution. But they don’t obey it because the dolts in Congress don’t make them obey it! Well, then! Here is the complete list of the President’s enumerated powers:Art. I, Sec. 7, cls. 2 & 3, grants to the President the power to approve or veto Bills and Resolutions passed by Congress.Art. I, Sec. 9, next to last clause, grants to the executive Branch - the Treasury Department - the power to write checks pursuant to Appropriations made by law - i.e., by Congress.Art. II, Sec. 1, cl.1, vests executive Power [see below] in the President.Art. II, Sec. 1, last clause, sets forth the President’s Oath of Office - to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States.Art. II, Sec. 2, cl.1:makes the President Commander in Chief of the armed forces when they have been called by Congress into the actual service of the United States. 3 authorizes the President to require the principal Officers in the executive Departments to provide written Opinions upon the Duties of their Offices.grants the President power to grant Reprieves and Pardons for offenses against the United States, 4 but he can not stop impeachments of any federal judge or federal officer.Article II, Sec. 2, cl. 2 grants to the President the power:to make Treaties - with the advice and consent of the Senate. 5 to nominate Ambassadors, other public ministers and Consuls, federal judges, and various other officers - with the advice and consent of the Senate.

Article II, Sec. 2, cl. 3 grants to the President the power to make recess appointments, which expire at the end of Congress’ next session.
Art. II, Sec. 3:Imposes the duty on the President to periodically advise Congress on the State of the Union, and authorizes the President to recommend to Congress such measures as he deems wise.Authorizes the President, on extraordinary Occasions, to convene one or both houses of Congress [e.g., when he asks Congress to declare War]; and if both houses can not agree on when to adjourn, he is authorized to adjourn them to such time as he deems proper.Imposes the duty upon the President to receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers.Imposes the duty upon the President to take care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and Imposes the duty upon the President to Commission all the Officers of the United States.That’s it! Anything else the President does is unlawful and a usurpation of powers not granted.

What is the executive Power?

So! The granting of the executive Power to the President is not a blank check giving him power to do whatever he wants. The executive Power is merely the power to put into effect - to implement - those Acts of Congress which are within Congress’ enumerated powers. Thus, if Congress establishes an uniform Rule of Naturalization (as authorized by Art. I, Sec. 8, cl. 4), it is the President’s duty to implement and enforce the law Congress makes. The President is to carry out - to execute - Acts of Congress.But note well: His Oath of Office - to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution, shows that the President must use his independent judgment 6 as to which acts of Congress are and are not constitutional. Thus, as shown in this paper, The Oath Of Office: The Check On Usurpations By Congress, The Executive Branch, & Federal Judges, the President has the duty, imposed by his Oath, to act as a check on Congress (and on federal courts, as well).Accordingly, when Congress makes a law which is not authorized by the Constitution, it...would not be the supreme law of the land, but a usurpation of power not granted by the Constitution... Federalist No. 33 (last two paras); 7 and since the President’s Oath requires him to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution, the President must refuse to enforce an unconstitutional law made by Congress. Otherwise, he’d be in collusion with the legislative branch to usurp power over The People. 8 So, then! Acting as a check on Congress (and federal courts) by refusing to enforce unconstitutional laws (and opinions), as well as the duty of entertaining foreign dignitaries, are the only occasions where the President may act alone. His prime responsibility is to do what Congress tells him.

Article I, Sec. 1 & The Unconstitutional Administrative Law State

Now, you must learn of administrative law - i.e., rulemaking by Executive Agencies. 9
Article I, Sec.1, U.S. Constitution, says:All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States.That little phrase is of immense importance. It means what it says, that only Congress may make laws: laws are to be made only by Representatives whom we can fire every two years, and by Senators whom we can fire every six years.But in Joseph Postell’s must read paper, Constitution in Decline, he shows that during the administration of the nefarious Woodrow Wilson, Congress began delegating its lawmaking powers to agencies within the Executive Branch. Since then, Congress passes an overall legislative scheme, and delegates the details to be written by un-elected, un-accountable bureaucrats in the various Executive Agencies. They write the administrative rules which implement the Legislation. The result is the execrable Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), which is accepted, by the indoctrinated members of my profession, as law. Go here to see the abominable CFR.May the President Lawfully Make Executive Orders? The Guiding Principle is this: The President has no authority to do ANYTHING apart from constitutional authority or statutory authority (assuming the statute itself is constitutional).

1. So! Respecting those matters within his constitutional authority & duties, and authority & duties imposed by constitutional statutes, the President may make orders - call them executive orders if you like.For example: It is the President’s constitutional duty to take care that the Laws be faithfully executed. Thus, he has the duty to enforce [constitutional] laws made by Congress. How does he enforce the laws? Sometimes, by means of orders.To illustrate: Say Congress makes a law, as authorized by Art. I, Sec. 8, clause 6, making it a felony to counterfeit the Securities and current Coin of the United States. If U.S. Attorneys are not prosecuting counterfeiters, the President should order them to do it. Or fire them.
But say Congress makes a law which purports to make possession of shotguns shorter than 18 inches a crime. Since the President’s Oath requires him to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution, he is obligated to order the U.S. Attorney General and the U.S. Attorneys to refuse to prosecute anyone for possession of sawed-off shotguns. Why? Because such a law is unconstitutional as outside the scope of the legislative powers granted to Congress in Our Constitution. It also violates the Second Amendment.Clearly, such an order to refuse prosecution falls within the President’s constitutional duties (enforce the Constitution), and he is giving an order to people within the Executive Branch. The President is the one who is charged with carrying out the Acts of Congress - he has the executive Power. But because of his Oath, he may not carry out unconstitutional laws. That is one of the checks on Congress.The President may also properly make orders addressing housekeeping issues within the Executive Branch: Dress codes, no smoking or drinking on the job, he may encourage executive agencies to hire qualified handicapped people, and the like. Just as if you have a business, you may make orders addressing such matters.

So! Do you see? The President may lawfully make orders to carry out his constitutionally imposed powers and duties, and powers bestowed by statutes which are constitutional; and he may address housekeeping issues within the Executive Branch.2. But a President may not lawfully, by means of orders, exercise powers not delegated to him by the Constitution or by (constitutional) Acts of Congress.
Yet Obama has issued various executive orders which are unlawful because they are not authorized by the Constitution or by (constitutional) Acts of Congress. Here are two executive orders which are particularly pernicious because they undermine our foundational Principle of Federalism, and have as their object the improper consolidation of the States into one ... republic.: 10 E.O.13575 - Establishment of the White House Rural Council: This E.O. provides for over 25 federal departments & agencies to run every aspect of rural life! E.O. Establishing Council of Governors: The effect of this E.O. is to erase the Independence and Sovereignty of the States and consolidate us into a national system under the boot of the Executive Branch.
Joseph Stalin couldn’t do better than this. These E.O.s are blatantly unconstitutional as usurpations of powers not granted in The Constitution! So, Nullify them! 3. Likewise, executive agencies may not, by means of administrative rulemaking, usurp the powers of Congress. (Remember, because of Art. I, Sec.1, all rulemaking by executive agencies is unconstitutional)!

Here are several cases of such unconstitutional rulemaking:

a) When Congress refused to pass the DREAM ACT, which provided a path to citizenship for certain categories of illegal aliens, ICE had no authority to implement it, in whole or in part, by executive memo! Power over Rules of Naturalization (i.e., who qualifies for citizenship and what are the procedures) are expressly granted to Congress by Article I, Sec. 8, cl. 4, which grants to Congress alone the Power To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization.The President has no constitutional power over immigration & naturalization except to enforce the Acts of Congress respecting those subjects. Article II, Sec. 3, which imposes upon the President the duty to take care that the Laws be faithfully executed, requires the President to enforce such constitutional Acts of Congress.But if Congress refuses to make a law respecting naturalization, a President who enacts it anyway, via executive order, or administrative regulation, or administrative memo by his underlings in the various executive agencies, is acting lawlessly. His unlawful acts should be nullified, and he should be removed from office for his usurpation.b) Congress recently did not pass three sinister and grotesquely unconstitutional bills Obama wanted: Card check, Cap and Trade, and the Disclose Act. These bills are unconstitutional as outside the scope of the legislative powers granted by our Constitution to Congress. Nowhere does our Constitution give Congress authority to make laws about labor unions (card check), or to regulate carbon emissions - CO2, the stuff humans and animals exhale, and plants & trees need for photosynthesis (cap and trade), or requiring people with federal contracts to report their personal political activities to the Executive Branch (Disclose Act)! Since Congress may not lawfully make laws on such subjects, no one can. Yet, Obama is circumventing the Constitution and implementing these three failed & unconstitutional bills by agency rulemaking or executive order!:The National Labor Relations Board, is implementing card check by agency regulation. Read this.The Environmental Protection Agency is implementing cap and trade by agency regulation. Read this.

And it appears that Obama - in furtherance of his agenda to reward his supporters and punish non-supporters - is considering signing an executive order implement the Disclose Act. Read this.So! Let us sum this up: The President must always uphold our Constitution. When Congress makes an unconstitutional law, the President must refuse to implement it; and he may, by means of executive orders, instruct people in the Executive Branch not to comply. E.g., if a President orders the U.S. Attorneys to decline to prosecute persons for possession of sawed-off shotguns, he would be acting lawfully because Congress has no authority to ban them. But the President is violating the Constitution when he implements card check by agency rules made by the NLRB; when he implements cap & trade by agency rules made by the EPA; and the Disclose Act by executive order, because the President and executive agencies (as well as Congress) do not have authority over these objects; and further, no one in the Executive Branch has authority to make laws! What Should we do about illegal Executive Orders & Rules made by Executive Agencies? A Congress filled with he-men and she-women, instead of ignorant cowards, wusses, and wimps, would impeach obama for his usurpations in signing unconstitutional executive orders, and in circumventing Congress by having executive agencies implement, by means of administrative rules, legislation which Congress did not pass. In Federalist Paper No. 66 (2nd para), Hamilton expressly states that impeachment is an essential check on a President who encroaches on the powers of Congress; and in Federalist No. 77 (last para), points out that impeachment is the remedy for abuse of the executive authority.But since the people in Congress are too ignorant and weak to rid us of the abomination in the White House, the States and Counties must nullify unconstitutional executive orders and administrative rules, or submit to slavery and the destruction of our Constitutional Republic. Since State and County officials have taken the Oath to support the U.S. Constitution (Art. VI, last cl.), they are bound by Oath to refuse to submit to illegal executive orders and illegal agency rules.And of course, WE THE PEOPLE and our businesses must also spit on such illegalities by the Executive Branch. Our creature (Federalist No. 33, 5th para, Hamilton), has turned into Frankenstein, and has lost all legitimacy. PH

The President’s powers really are confined and carefully limited to carrying out laws made by Congress and enforcing certain judicial decisions, military defense (a power shared with Congress), appointing officials (subject to Congress’ approval), and entertaining foreign dignitaries. That’s it!

One of the leading rabbis in Judea and Samaria on Wednesday expressed his support of the Palestinian Authority’s unilateral bid for statehood in the United Nations on September 20.According to a report in the PA-based WAFA news agency, Rabbi Menachem Froman of Tekoa supported and expressed his and other Israeli rabbis’ wishes for success to the PA bid to gain full United Nations membership of a Palestinian state.
The report said Rabbi Froman made the comments during a meeting with PA President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah.Froman said that establishing a Palestinian state benefits the peace process and Israel and also works to achieve comprehensive, just peace and stability for the region and the world.For his part, Abbas reiterated his commitment to the peace process with Israel and claimed that the PA’s statehood bid is a result of Israel’s refusal to abide by international law and agreements.WAFA said Rabbi Froman congratulated Abbas on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the Islamic holiday which marks the end of Ramadan.Rabbi Froman also reportedly offered to establish a committee made up of both Arab and Israeli religious figures to stop mutual instigation.Establishing a Palestinian state in cooperation with the State of Israel is good for peace and for Israel and it will inspire the building of a just and lasting peace and stability in the region and the world, Rabbi Froman was quoted as saying.

IMF sees 200 billion euro capital gap at European banks Reuters – AUG 31,11

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The International Monetary Fund has estimated European banks could face a capital shortfall of 200 billion euros ($287 billion), a European source said on Wednesday.The figure has prompted a fierce response from European officials who said the analysis was misleading, according to the Financial Times.
The newspaper, citing two officials, said the 200 billion euro figure was one estimate of the impact of marking sovereign bonds to market.The IMF will publish the analysis in its regular Global Financial Stability Report ahead of the IMF and World Bank fall meetings of global finance leaders in late September. The FT cautioned that the figure was in a draft that could change.The IMF vision is biased, Elena Salgado, Spain's finance minister, told the FT, adding that the fund had been mistaken in looking only at potential losses without taking account of holdings of German Bunds, which have risen in price.IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde drew criticism from European policymakers this week after she called for a mandatory recapitalization of European banks.

Finnish minister Alexander Stubb has said his country's demand for Greek collateral is meant to defend the eurozone principle of financial responsibility. But he admitted that Finnish eurosceptics have played their part in the initiative.Speaking to EUobserver by phone on Wednesday (31 August), EU affairs and trade minister Alexander Stubb said the wealthy northern country's demand for Greece to give guarantees for Finland's part in the second Greek bailout is not down to fear of losing money.It isn't a question of the money. It's a question of principle. It reflects a sentiment that we have that you should not be rewarded for lax public finances. That's the whole point of being in the euro ... people have to be responsible about their public finances,he said.He noted that Helsinki's motivation is not entirely pure, however.The anti-EU True Finns party won 20 percent of votes in recent elections after bashing Helsinki's earlier pay outs to Greece, Ireland and Portugal. Eurosceptic sentiment also led the Social Democrat party, which shares power with Stubb's National Coalition party, to promise voters it would get collateral for any fresh Greek loan.Our domestic agenda is part of our election result, which gave us a mixed bag. Unfortunately there are forces surrounding the True Finns which have influenced general thinking and political thinking in the way we have seen here,Stubb explained.

Helsinki believes that its demand for guarantees falls within the letter of a July eurozone agreement on the new rescue package.But its tough line has prompted Austria, Malta, the Netherlands, Slovakia and Slovenia to insist that if Finland gets guarantees, then they should get them as well. With financial markets watching the talks for any sign of new risk to euro stability, the dispute threatens to delay plans to implement the new bailout by the end of September.Stubb said he is confident and optimistic that a compromise can be reached. But he added: If we don't find a deal, then we'll see what happens ... We understand the demand our government has posed is not easy for others to accept.As previously reported by EUobserver, Helsinki has abandoned its original pact with Greece, under which Athens was to put around €600 million of cash into an escrow account in case it defaults.Sources in eurozone finance ministries told this website the new deal is likely to see all 16 eurozone lenders get the option to ask for collateral if they want. The guarantees could be in the form of Greek Central Bank gold reserves or state-owned shares in banks.One contact said lenders will be discouraged from taking advantage of the option by being forced to pay a related cost if they do.Another source said there could be a gentleman's agreement that few, if any, countries actually trigger the option. I have the feeling that this [the collateral dispute] is beginning to go away and is becoming less important. What we are looking for is a face-saving solution for everybody involved,the source noted.Senior finance ministry officials from the 17 euro-using countries are currently holding almost-daily telephone conferences on the subject. Italy has said that delaying the EU oil embargo on Syria will not make any difference to the regime. But fellow member states believe there is not a day to lose.Assad poster in Damascus. Massari said the oil embargo is not designed to create regime change from the outside but to help home-grown protesters bring in reforms (oliverlaumann).Italian foreign ministry spokesman Maurizio Massari told EUobserver on Wednesday (31 August) that Rome wants the oil ban to come into force on 30 November instead of mid-October, as agreed by most other EU countries.He explained the delay will not affect Syrian President Bashar Assad's income because European oil importers have paid up-front for oil deliveries until the November date.

We only ask for them to come into force one and a half months later to help the expiration of the contracts of oil supply from Syria for several European companies, Massari said. The contracts have already been paid for by Western European countries including Italy ... This flexibility with the time frame does not alter the strength of the political message that we want to send.Italian ports in July handled 50 percent of Syrian crude exports to the EU, with some of the oil going to refineries run by Italian firms Eni, IES Italiana and Saras.Fellow EU members believe the level of violence merits more urgent action, however.Since oil exports are 30 percent of the regime's revenue, the sooner you cut this the better, when you see what's happening on the ground - people being killed each day, a diplomat from a large EU country said. Libyan rebels: Gadhafi son offers to surrender

The commander, Abdel Hakim Belhaj, said al-Saadi first called him Tuesday and asked whether his safety could be guaranteed. We told him Don't fear for your life. We will guarantee your rights as a human being, and will deal with you humanely, said Belhaj, confirming a report on Al-Jazeera television. Belhaj added that al-Saadi would be turned over to Libyan legal authorities after his surrender.If the offer is confirmed — the rebels have previously claimed to have captured Gadhafi's son Seif al-Islam, who later turned up free — the surrender would give the rebels a significant boost as they try to consolidate their hold over the country with the longtime dictator and several sons and aides still at large.Opposition fighters have been pressing toward Gadhafi's key remaining stronghold, his hometown of Sirte, and loyalists now only control a handful of areas, including Bani Walid to the west.

Belhaj said Al-Saadi told him he had not killed anyone, and that he was not against the people.I told him This is good. What is important for us is not to shed Libyan blood. For the members of the regime to surrender is the best way to do this, said Belhaj.The commander said al-Saadi had called back Wednesday morning, but that he had missed the call. He said he knows al-Saadi's whereabouts, but prefers to negotiate a surrender. China, Vietnam plan defence hotline: report

China and Vietnam plan to set up a defence hotline as part of closer military links, official media reported on Wednesday, in the latest effort to publicly ease tensions after a maritime dispute.The two sides agreed to promote bilateral defence cooperation at their second annual security dialogue held in Beijing, the English-language Vietnam News reported after the weekend talks.The newspaper said China and Vietnam would expand ties to new fields, among them the exchange of military delegations, including military students, as well as establishing the hotline between their defence ministries.It did not elaborate on whether the line would be for the ministers themselves.A few years ago, the communist party secretary-generals of Vietnam and China also established a hotline.And in 2009, the foreign ministries signed an agreement to create a similar link between the neighbours' leaders, although its status is unclear.In the latest talks, involving Vietnam's deputy defence minister and China's deputy chief of general staff, Beijing said it would share experiences in United Nations peacekeeping, Vietnam News reported.Hanoi has not yet contributed to UN missions but has expressed interest to do so.The neighbours have a long-standing dispute over sovereignty of the potentially oil-rich Paracel and Spratly island groups, which straddle vital commercial shipping lanes in the South China Sea.

Waters recede but storm victims suffer in East

PATERSON, N.J./BRATTLEBORO, Vermont (Reuters) – Floodwaters finally started to recede from areas of the U.S. northeast devastated by Hurricane Irene but many communities were still under water on Wednesday as relief workers battled cut-off roads and raging rivers to deliver emergency supplies.The storm battered the East Coast with up to 15 inches of rain on Saturday and Sunday, setting river level records in 10 states, the U.S. Geological Survey said.Wide swathes of New Jersey, upstate New York and Vermont experienced the worst flooding in decades, and while many disaster areas began to see waters recede other rivers had not yet crested, the USGS said.Some 1.7 million homes and business were still without power after as many as 6.7 million had lost electricity.With damage in the billions of dollars -- Standard & Poor's estimated the national total at $20 billion, though others have put the number at half that -- homeowners were also battling insurance companies that exclude flood damage coverage.Adding to the anxiety, the Federal Emergency Management Agency said it had to put long-term projects on hold and focus on rushing immediate relief to battered states because it had only $800 million left in its disaster relief fund.The White House said President Barack Obama on Sunday planned to visit the hard-hit New Jersey city of Paterson, one of many places where residents and businesses suffered personal and economic catastrophe.

In Little Falls, New Jersey, Sean Mathews could only wait for floodwaters to recede along Williams Street, where he owns a two-story home that was swamped in four to five feet of water.I figure I've got about $20,000 in damage, Mathews said, adding that floods typically leave dead rats, snakes and garbage strewn through the house. I can deal with snakes. But the sewage smell -- the smell.Mathews, who installs sheet metal for a living, said moving would be nearly impossible after four major floods in five years wrecked property values.We think about moving all the time, but how are you going to sell the house? he said.Street after street in Little Falls was flooded, and many were nearly abandoned. Police hung signs saying No scavenging.New York state alone suffered $1 billion in damage with 600 homes destroyed, six towns inundated and 150 major highways and 140,000 acres of farmland damaged, Governor Andrew Cuomo said.Sometimes the bottom line is the bottom line. We need help on the economics,Cuomo said.Disaster relief has reignited Washington's budget battles, with some Republicans saying additional spending to help these communities should be offset by cuts elsewhere in the budget.New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a Republican who gained national prominence for cutting budgets, broke with elements of the small-government wing of his party by calling for immediate aid.We don't have time to wait for folks in Congress to figure out how they want to offset this stuff with other budget cuts. Our people are suffering now and they need support now. ... That's not a Republican or Democratic issue,Christie told a news conference in Lincoln Park.

FLOATING REFRIGERATORS

In Paterson, where hundreds of people had to be rescued from the raging floodwaters by boat or truck, the Passaic River reached its highest level since 1903, officials said.Once an industrial powerhouse, Paterson has since declined in wealth relative to neighboring towns. Many of its factories were powered by the Great Falls of the Passaic River, the second largest waterfall by volume on the East Coast.From a helicopter overhead, mist could be seen rising at least 200 feet above the waterfall, making it resemble Niagara Falls.An entire neighborhood upriver was covered by water, drowning at least two schools, three gas stations and much of the city's industrial area, whose chemicals left a visible sheen on the river. Down the debris-strewn river, two bridges were submerged.Passaic floodwaters were receding on Wednesday, said James Furtak, acting emergency management director of Bergen County. He said towns such as Wallington, population 11,000, were starting to recover, thanks in part to volunteer firefighters who left their own families to help others.

You had couches floating, refrigerators floating, Furtak said.It flooded streets that never got flooded before. Some people lost everything. Katia almost a hurricane; storm fears in Gulf

MIAMI (Reuters) – Tropical Storm Katia was expected to strengthen into a hurricane over the Atlantic on Wednesday, while another mass of thunderstorms that could become a named storm this week triggered evacuations of some oil workers from the Gulf of Mexico.Katia had sustained winds of 70 miles per hour and would become the second hurricane of the June-through-November Atlantic hurricane season if winds reach 74 mph, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.The Miami-based center said Katia was forecast to become a major hurricane with winds over 111 mph on Sunday, but it was still too early to tell whether it would threaten land.At 5 p.m. (2100 GMT), Katia was about 1,285 miles east of the Caribbean's Leeward Islands. It was moving rapidly west-northwest and was forecast to turn northwest in a couple of days on a course that would keep it away from the Caribbean islands.Hurricane Irene rampaged up the U.S. East Coast over the weekend and authorities on the U.S. Atlantic seaboard are keeping an eye on Katia to see which path it takes.Long-range computer models, which can be off by hundreds of miles, show Katia nearing the mid-Atlantic island of Bermuda in about a week. Several models turned it north, away from the U.S. East Coast.

The Atlantic hurricane season typically brings 11 or 12 named storms. DALLAS (Reuters) - Wildfires raged through Texas and Oklahoma again on Wednesday, threatening homes and buildings and charring thousands of acres of parched, dry land.
The Texas Forest Service has declared this to be the worst fire season in the state's history. Forest service officials, along with firefighters in communities across the state have responded to 20,155 fires that have burned a record 3.5 million acres since last November 15.Six of the 10 largest wildfires recorded in Texas occurred in April and 20 of the 40 largest were recorded this year, according to the forest service. Fires this year have destroyed 3,000 structures, including 679 homes.The danger is not over as new fires continued to break out due to hot, dry weather and extreme drought that persists throughout most of the state.In North Texas, firefighters were still trying to control a massive fire that erupted in a lakefront community west of Fort Worth on Tuesday.Central Oklahoma remained under a red flag fire warning on Wednesday, the day after a wildfire destroyed 33 homes in northeast Oklahoma City.Evacuations at Possum Kingdom Lake, about 75 miles west of Fort Worth, resumed Wednesday afternoon when the wind picked up and fanned the flames that firefighters had some success in containing overnight.As soon as the wind picked up, the fires started spreading quickly again, said John Nichols, a spokesman for the Texas Forest Service.The fire destroyed at least 39 homes and buildings and burned more than 6,200 acres by Wednesday evening. Property owners in several neighborhoods around the lake were evacuated by boat to a hotel on another area on Tuesday because roads were cutoff by the flames.

But as the fire again quickly spread on Wednesday, those evacuees were again forced to flee, along with others from neighborhoods that were unaffected on Tuesday.
Fortunately we were able to move our car yesterday before it got too bad, said resident Laura Kirklen. We heard a local church was sending a bus for some of those who had no other way out.Firefighters were battling the fast-moving fire from the ground and air. Heavy air tankers, single-engine aircraft and helicopters were dumping water on the fires. Possum Kingdom Lake was the sight of the state's fifth largest recorded wildfire in April, when more than 160 homes were destroyed and over 126,000 acres were burned during two weeks.This is very unusual to have been hit twice like this in one year, said Steve Anderson, owner of a real estate company at Possum Kingdom, which is keeping residents up-to-date on the fire through social media. We've had some small grass fires in the past few years, but nothing major.

Weather conditions were also to blame for 17 smaller fires that started in other parts of the state on Wednesday, including a fire near Lake Bridgeport, about 50 miles northwest of Fort Worth, which burned about 100 acres.The ground is so dry because of the drought that one welding spark or a cigarette tossed could easily ignite a fire, said Jesse Moore, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Fort Worth. The high temperatures, low humidity and wind gusts quickly cause fire to spread.Similar weather conditions, with highs approaching 105, are again forecast for Thursday, he said.In Oklahoma, the fire, fueled by dry vegetation and fanned by southerly winds, burned a 12-square-mile area and also destroyed a church, 21 barns and other outbuildings and 45 vehicles.The fire smoldered most of the day Wednesday but flared up again in the late afternoon, just as another fire broke out on the southeast side of the city near Tinker Air Force Base. The fire near the base forced a portion of Interstate 40 to be closed to traffic due to smoke.Other fires broke out around the state, including one near Lawton that forced the closure of the H.E. Bailey Turnpike due to heavy smoke, while other wildfires burned hundreds of acres near Tecumseh, Crowder and Seminole, the Oklahoma Forestry Services said Wednesday.

Oklahoma has been under a state of emergency since July 20 because of the extreme drought conditions and high fire danger.Some radio stations have begun broadcasting a public service announcement taped by Governor Mary Fallin that reminded Oklahomans that discarded cigarettes and parking on dried grass often spark wildfires.

Goal: Stop the killing of innocent women and girls around the world.

Honor killing, or the murder of an individual by a family member because she was believed to have brought “shame” to the family, takes place most often in Muslim communities, though it can also occur in Hindu and some other non-Muslim areas. The victim is most often female and the murderer is most often a father, brother, uncle, or other male relative. However, female family members often take part in the decision to murder the victim and sometimes even participate in the killing as well. Some of the reasons a girl or woman may be killed can include wearing clothing that may be considered too revealing, being in a romantic relationship with someone of a different religious or cultural background, or even being the victim of a rape. She may be murdered in a gruesome and horrific way, such as by decapitation, being burned alive, or being stoned to death.Though it is thought to mostly occur in third world countries, sadly it also takes place right here in the United States, as well as Europe. One such case included that of two Texas teenage girls, Amina and Sarah Said, who were shot to death by their father, Yassir Said, in a taxi cab on New Year’s Day of 2008 because they were dating non-Muslim boys.Said also had a history of emotionally, physically, and sexually abusing the girls.Something needs to be done immediately to stop so many more innocent girls and women from being killed, even though they have not committed any crime. Some actions that should be imposed include convicting more people who take part in honor killings, giving the perpetrators longer jail sentences, and conducting education programs in areas where there are high occurrences of honor killings to show that this crime is completely unacceptable.

The only acts she may have done to deserve such a terrible death may have been wearing clothing that was considered too revealing, dating someone outside of the family’s religion or culture, and even being the victim of a rape.These terrible and senseless killings against girls and women should not still be taking place today. In order to attempt to combat this severe problem, more people around the world need to be convicted of honor killings and be given longer jail sentences. In addition, education programs need to be conducted around the world that teach that honor killings are wrong and unacceptable no matter what religion one participates in or area the individual lives in.
