Pestilence is a deadly disaster, usually a disease, that affects an entire community. Pestilence is contagious, virulent, and devastating. For example, the Black Plague in Europe that killed over thirty percent of the population during the late Middle Ages was a pestilence. In the Bible, pestilence is usually a sign of God’s judgment on a nation or people group (Deuteronomy 32:24; 1 Chronicles 21:12; Ezekiel 7:14–15). The God who protects and blesses is also the God who sends disaster and pestilence when it accomplishes His righteous purposes on earth (Isaiah 45:7; Ezekiel 5:16–17; Amos 4:10). Pestilence is promised as part of God’s final judgment on the world in Revelation 18:8.The word translated “pestilence” is often translated as “plague” or “disaster” in new versions of the English Bible. However, because the word is often paired with both of those, it may imply a greater devastation than mere physical disease. Pestilence incorporates any and all forms of public and mass destruction and often accompanies famine (Ezekiel 7:15) or war (Jeremiah 21:9). Jesus forewarned of pestilence when He described the end times.

U.S. and Ukrainian alarm over a flurry of Russian claims that Kyiv plans to deploy a so-called dirty bomb have worsened fears that President Vladimir Putin could try to escalate the conflict to try to change the course of the war. Ukraine and its allies vehemently reject the Russian accusations, countering that, in fact, the Kremlin may be planning a “false flag” operation, blaming Kyiv for its own actions.As tensions over the nine-month war worsen, NBC News looks at what a dirty bomb actually is, the damage it can cause and whether it can render any military advantage.What is a dirty bomb? A dirty bomb, also known as a “radiological dispersion device,” is defined as a conventional weapon that has been augmented with a radioactive material. Traditionally, security experts have warned of dirty bombs’ being used by terrorist groups instead of militaries.The method of delivery could be a missile, an airplane stocked with radioactive materials or a strategically planted improvised explosive device, according to the Washington-based Center for Arms Control and Non-Proliferation.It’s a basic, rudimentary device that’s easy enough to make with explosives and radioactive material, said nuclear expert Tom Plant, a senior associate fellow at the Royal United Services Institute, a defense and security think tank in London. A variety of radioactive materials could be used, he said, including materials used in nuclear medicine and for industrial purposes. When it’s deployed, the material doesn’t do anything to make the explosion any bigger, he said — it’s there purely to create contamination and, most likely, panic.What damage can it cause? Just how devastating a dirty bomb can be depends on the type and size of the conventional explosives, as well as the potency and amount of radioactive material that has been added. The main danger comes from the explosion, not the radiation, according to the guidance on radiological dispersion devices from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.“Only people who are very close to the blast site would be exposed to enough radiation to cause immediate serious illness,” according to the guidance. “Still, radioactive dust and smoke can spread farther away and could be dangerous to health if people breathe in the dust, eat contaminated food or drink contaminated water.”Pavel Podvig, a senior researcher at the U.N. Institute for Disarmament Research, said on Twitter that a “dirty bomb” contamination area is likely to be no more than a few hundred yards in diameter. “To create serious contamination over a large area one would have to blow up a nuclear reactor, Chernobyl-type,” Podvig said. Plant said the psychological damage from deploying a dirty bomb in Ukraine would probably be far-reaching. “The fact that it’s dirty — in that the contamination spreads around — is the kind of thing that people get scared of,” he said.It could also overwhelm hospitals as people rush to get assessed for radioactive poisoning even if they aren’t sick, and it could cause widespread disruption as authorities undertake a potentially extensive clean-up, Plant said.

Nuclear warfare foretold in the Bible?
In Rev. 18 we read of a city that would be judged in one hour. Which city is that? And what kind of fire could possibly lay a city to waste in just one hour? The city is a city that sits on seven hills, for the story of this city also known as Mystery Babylon starts in Revelation 17, and is continued in Rev.18 where its final moments is explained like this. Rev. 18:17 “ For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And why would traders who saw this not rush into this rich city to save some of the riches in the places where the fire has not yet burned? Because they will be witnessing a nuclear explosion and its aftermath in action from which it is best to stand far off due to radiation. In Rev.17 the woman which sits on a city which lays on 7 hills has been warned that ten horns [military powers] would hate her and burn her with fire, and in Rev.18 the fire that will destroy her is described to be able to do so in just one hour. What can ignite miles of city buildings in just a few moments? The nuclear bomb. Fifty percent of the energy from a nuclear detonation is distributed in blast forces. At that time the whole world wondered about this new bomb. What on earth is this? How did they do it? We must have it too! And then they wondered after the same knowledge, doing everything including spying to get it also. And now we have this balance that can tip into any direction. In Rev.9 this balance is prophesied to be terribly disturbed, and then a third of the people of the earth will lose their lives. That could be more than 2 billion if it is to happen in the near future, even more if it happens later. Rev.9 describes the terrible horses which we discussed in my previous post. There we have seen how John saw horses [missiles] which kills in a 3 fold manner when its lion heads [war heads] roars or explodes." Where there is explosions-there is smoke and dust. Many people could choke in the smoke before the fires get to them. And with the radiation in the air-this smoke now becomes very dangerous, as it would be radioactive. Wikipedia describes here what happens:: " The neutron radiation serves to transmute the surrounding matter, often rendering it radioactive. When added to the dust of radioactive material released by the bomb itself, a large amount of radioactive material is released into the environment.”Rev.9:18c :“ and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths." What else then the nuclear missile warhorses can issue fire, smoke, and brimstone [burning stone]. When mankind began to process uranium bearing rock, and put it through some more processes, it produced brimstone or burning stone, that can destroy a city. The exploding of a one megaton bomb will release a blast wave twice the speed of a hurricane, smashing buildings over a radius of five miles. Cars will be tossed about like toys, destroying everything within a 5 mile radius within 12 seconds of impact. During the time brimstone explodes, the blast wave turns buildings and structures into weapons as it crumbles and is hurled at people. Terrible will be this day when these nuclear warhorses is set free from their silo’s and other places of hiding.But the initial fire, smoke and brimstone are not all. For these war horses that can run from America to Africa in just 25 minutes, also have tails. Once the lion warhead of a nuclear bomb has spoken, a mush room cloud will rise high into the air to tell the tale of what just happened. John describes their tails. " Rev. 9:19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt."When the nuclear bomb detonates it sends a giant tail of smoke up in the air. From the point of impact, a smoke tail formed from burning material will rise that will become longer and longer like a massive air serpent. It’s a tail of smoke and radioactive debris that usually looks to have a mushroom head. The mushroom head is now also compared by John with the head of a serpent. And that is exactly how dangerous it is. As poisonous as a serpent head is, so poisonous is the nuclear fallout that stands up from the earth like a giant serpent ready to strike. And it can move above the earth like a serpent. On whatever it descends it releases radioactivity. Whosoever sees this serpent cloud stands up from the earth, must not think it will bring welcome shade or good rains. It is much better to get away as far as possible from the area where this serpent stood up. Indeed the tail of the nuclear bomb blown around by the wind will not only block sunlight, but also poison water, plants and whatever is precious to us."
