Michael Sam and Oprah Winfrey's cable network have agreed to shoot a multi-part documentary series that will follow Sam as he attempts to make the St. Louis Rams roster. But that agreement has suddenly turned NFL watchers who had previously been in his corner into critics of the seventh-round pick's decision making. On Saturday, Sam gave sports and equal rights fans one of the most moving live televised moments ever, when he broke down in tears after being chosen by the Rams in the NFL Draft and delivered a celebratory kiss to his boyfriend. Sure, there were those homophobes who bristled at the kiss and complained about ESPN. But most recognized the moment for what it was — a compelling example of pure human happiness recognizable by people of any sexual orientation. Now that Sam appears to be parlaying that genuine moment into the very not-genuine world of reality TV, some football watchers are souring on this feel good story. "A few months ago, Sam asked fans to let their guards down and invest in him in a very different way than they do in, say, Johnny Football or RGIII," Deadspin's Drew Magary writes. "Now he's chosen the favored path of every D-list asshole in America." Others, like NFL Network's Albert Breer, noted that this doesn't jibe with Sam's constant exhortations to be treated like any other player and judged on his football skills. "Doubt the Rams want a seventh-round Reality TV star," The MMQB's Peter King tweeted. Magary even goes so far as to suggest that the very moment that made Sam a star might not have been totally sincere. "Now that Sam has a reality show, can anyone believe with 100 percent confidence that the kiss he shared with his boyfriend on camera last Saturday was a real and true moment?"Perhaps expecting this reaction, Sam reiterated his desire to be a pro football player first. "Like every player out there working to make a team right now, my focus is on playing football to the very best of my ability," said Sam. "I am determined." The network also made it clear, through ESPN's Darren Rovell, that the reality show's cameras will not follow Sam to Rams practices and workouts. This despite the fact that HBO's Hard Knocks series, which goes deep inside one NFL team's training camp every fall, is wildly popular among football fans. However, as a late-round pick who is not guaranteed to make the Rams team, Sam certainly has understandable reasons to take the reality show. He can spread his inspiring story far and wide, all while solidifying his personal branding and commercial appeal to the masses. Even successful NFL careers don't always last long, and Sam has to capitalize on every opportunity he can get. On the other hand, reality TV is still considered the last refuge of the fame-hungry, and there's knee-jerk revulsion against those who willingly seek it out. Indeed, the list of NFL players who have had their own reality shows is mostly legendary showboats like Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson and Terrell Owens. That's not great company for Sam to be in.

OZONE DEPLETION JUDGEMENT ON THE EARTH DUE TO SIN

ISAIAH 30:26-27
26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold,(7X OR 7-DEGREES HOTTER) as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people,(ISRAEL) and healeth the stroke of their wound.
27 Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:

MATTHEW 24:21-22,29
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake (ISRAELS SAKE) those days shall be shortened (Daylight hours shortened)
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

REVELATION 16:7-9
7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

FIRES AND EXPLOSIONS

REVELATION 8:7
7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

Firefighters battle raging San Diego wildfires
By Marty Graham - MAY 16,14-YahooNews

SAN DIEGO (Reuters) - California firefighters were battling wind-whipped wildfires on Friday, as some 125,000 people fled their homes in the San Diego area and police arrested at least two people on arson-related charges. The cluster of fires comes as California enters its peak fire season amid its worst drought in decades. Officials worry it could be a particularly dangerous year.Crews made some progress against the fires, which have scorched thousands of acres this week across Southern California. But they had only a tenuous grip on the so-called Cocos Fire, which was threatening the northern San Diego county communities of San Marcos and Escondido.Late on Thursday, Escondido Police said they had arrested two teens, ages 17 and a 19-year-old, identified as Isaiah Silva, on arson-related charges after locating the pair near a mall. They matched descriptions by witnesses of two people trying to set fires in the South Escondido area.Authorities elsewhere were also investigating how so many fires started about the same time and whether any were intentionally set."We all have suspicions, like the public does, when you have nine fires that started all over the county," San Diego County Sheriff Bill Gore said.At least one large home was burned to the ground in suburban San Marcos by the Cocos Fire. Television images showed towering flames closing in on other homes as residents scrambled to collect belongings and evacuate.Twists of flames roared in the wind and across hillsides, filling the sky with plumes of black smoke. Fire engines with lights flashing moved along winding streets in neighborhoods of large Spanish-style homes. The fires had destroyed seven homes and an 18-unit apartment building across San Diego county, authorities said. Seven other homes and two businesses were damaged. The roughly 1,200-acre Cocos Fire was at least 5 percent contained by late Thursday evening, Cal Fire said, and fire officials were aided by weakened winds and cooler temperatures overnight. About 1,600 San Marcos residents were allowed to return home to specific areas, the sheriff's department said early on Friday. However, California State University's San Marcos campus, which has some 9,000 students, and other areas remained under evacuation orders.Elsewhere, a blaze that broke out on the Camp Pendleton Marine Base north of San Diego had charred some 6,000 acres.A 400-acre fire in the coastal city of Carlsbad destroyed 18 apartment units, four houses and two commercial buildings and forced the evacuation of residents, along with the Legoland amusement park and 13 employees at the largely decommissioned San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. That blaze was about 85 percent contained on Thursday evening and officials lifted evacuation orders for the city of Carlsbad. Crews checking hot spots found a badly burned body in a transient encampment. They could not immediately confirm the person was killed by the fire.(Writing by Eric M. Johnson)

05/15/2014 - THE VATICAN INSIDER-Francis’ visit to Holy Land will be “brief and intense”, as Paul VI’s was-The Vatican spokesman has issued a statement on the Pope’s visit to Jordan, Palestine and Israel between 24-26 May: “No Popemobile, no bulletproof vehicles.” Rabbi Skorka and Muslim leader Omar Abboud will be accompanying Francis-Iacopo Scaramuzzi

vatican city-The Pope’s visit to the Holy Land (24-26 May) will be “very brief and very intense” as Paul VI’s  visit was back in 1964. Vatican spokesman, Fr. Federico Lombardi, confirmed this at a press conference, explaining that this was the reason why some parts of the trip which tend to be included in papal visits have been left out. Fr. Lombardi outlined some things which Francis and Paul VI’s visits have in common. Starting with the duration of the visit: 3 days. The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, Bartholomew, was the first to invite the Pope to Jordan, Palestine and Israel, the Vatican spokesman said. He started talking to him about a potential trip to the Holy Land from the day of the inauguration of his pontificate. The trip would commemorate the 50th anniversary of Paul VI’s meeting with Patriarch Athenagoras.”Francis and Patriarch Bartholomew shared four key moments during that visit 50 years ago: the first private meeting scheduled for Sunday 25 in the Apostolic delegation building in Jerusalem (this is separate from the Holy See’s Nunciature in Tel Aviv), will take place in the “same place and the same room” in which Paul VI met the Orthodox Patriarch, Fr. Lombardi said. After the private meeting and after the exchange of gifts, the two will sign a “joint declaration”. The Pope and Bartholomew will then go separately to the Holy Sepulchre, for an” ecumenical meeting” during which they will commemorate the death and resurrection of Jesus and will recite the “Our Father” together. “A moment of common prayer in a holy place in Jerusalem, particularly in the Holy Sepulchre, is something that has never happened before,” the Vatican spokesman said. Not even Athenagoras and Paul VI held a “public moment of common prayer.”
Francis and Bartholomew will drive to the Latin Patriarchate in Jerusalem, in the same car – this will be the third moment they share. Here they will dine with patriarchs, bishops and the papal entourage. Their fourth and last encounter will take place on Monday, when the Pope will visit the Orthodox Church’s “primus inter pares”, in the building opposite the Orthodox Church of Viri Galilaei on the Mount of Olives. He will then take his leave. The Pope is going to have a packed agenda on this visit: fourteen speeches, including the Sunday Regina Coeli, three States, a lot of domestic moving about and meetings with all respective authorities. The Pope will be speaking in Italian throughout the trip. The Pope will not be using the Popemobile or a bulletproof car to get around, but “a normal car or an open-top jeep”. The jeep will be used to greet faithful at the Saturday afternoon mass at the International Stadium in Amman (Jordan) and on Sunday, before the mass in Manger Square in Bethlehem (Palestine).Because the agenda is so packed, some parts of the trip that are usually included in papal visits will be left out. For instance, there will be no official meeting with representatives of other religions. Members of the papal delegation will include: the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the three cardinals in charge of Eastern Churches, Leonardo Sandri, of ecumenism, Kurt Koch and of interreligious dialogue, Jean-Louis Tauran, the rector of Buenos Aires' Latin American Rabbinical Seminary, Abraham Skorka and the former secretary general of the Islamic Center of the Argentine Republic. There will also be no farewell speeches when the Pope leaves each of the three airports he will be landing in.Will Francis speak to journalists on the return flight as he did on the way back from Rio de Janeiro last summer? “I think we can expect him to greet journalists. Then, if at the end of the three busy day, at 9 pm, he has the strength or the desire to have a conversation it will be a miracle I should think … but he will certainly be his usual gentle and attentive self.”Fr. Lombardi summed up the legs of the Pope’s trip. Interestingly, the Pope will not be celebrating any open air masses in Israel, only at the Amman stadium on Saturday 24 and in Bethlehem’s Manger Square on Sunday 25. Francis will celebrate a mass in the Cenacle on Monday 26. No public mass will be celebrated in Jerusalem (Benedict XVI, for instance, did celebrate one in Josafat Valley in 2009) or in Galilee.Fr. Lombardi explained that Francis intended this trip to be a commemoration of Paul VI’s visit which also lasted three days. This is why he has left out Galilee, which John Paul II and Benedict XVI did visit, and where there are many Christians. In general, he said, “there are so many requests made on all the Pope’s visits but we can’t do everything.”On Monday morning the Pope will also be going to Mount Herzl lay some flowers at the grave of the founder of Zionism, Theodor Herzl. His predecessors did not “because in the past this was not part of the ceremonial.”When asked whether there were concerns about the recent acts of vandalism against Christian sites, Fr. Lombardi said the Holy See “condemned” these as does “everyone, including the Israeli authorities.” “The hope is that the visit will take place in a climate of calm: we have no reason to doubt this,” he added.
