Running scared are we? Democrats want tax cuts for all now By Laurie Roth SEPT 16,10

I’m laughing as I’m writing this. 31 Democrats have signed onto a letter to Pelosi saying they want tax cuts for all, not just those making under $250,000 a year. Naturally, those 31 are most concerned about re election campaigns.With what they have seen already with the focus, power and fund raising ability of that domestic terrorist, racist, radical and UN American group…..the Tea Party folks,they should be concerned. Perhaps we are coming to Jesus and going to the alter now are we???

This entire first two years of the Obama administration we have heard endless speeches from Pelosi,Reid and Obama demonizing the rich, business owners, capitalism and achievement. Though we have been in economic fall out, severe recession if not depression and history setting foreclosures with repossessions setting an all time record, Obama has and is raising taxes everywhere he can.There are at least 20 hidden and absurd taxes in the Health care bill, cap and trade if they get their way and all the tax increases they plan by letting the Bush tax cuts go away.Obama and this congress are trying to figure every way they possibly can to tax everyone, especially anyone who owns a business. They are the bad, evil ones that must be spanked for creating so many jobs, struggling to make payroll, many times being paid last in a real business.In addition,now businesses with at least 50 employees have the additional gift of being forced to provide health insurance or else they get a 2000 fine per employee per year.It is funny what a few primaries, elections and polls going to hell do to the democrat progressive view of taxing everyone that moves and breaths. Magically, they might start to think of the importance of at least appearing like they support real tax cuts for all. They pray to the Goddess that hopefully these sincere platitudes will let them get re- elected instead of the Tea Party hatchet job that is coming there way.

Not every election coming will go the conservative’s way but we are watching a real, peaceful and growing revolution, backed and fueled by the 70-80 million Tea Party folks who have been called every name there is by Obama this congress and the media. Frankly, much of the conservative media, even some Republican Rhino leadership have stupidly minimized their focus, passion and determination to get folks elected and clean house. Now it is hilarious to see the media, old political establishment and terrified progressive Democrats have a come to Jesus moment and wake up. The attacks intensify all around. The patronizing and fake out respect talk intensifies everywhere. The political parties and finally some media are realizing that the Tea Party people ARE the American people (black, white, Democrat, Independent, Republican, Christian, non Christian) and they now know they are the biggest branch of Government who will not be silent anymore.No matter the screaming, crying and praying going on by those who have shredded, ignored and beat up the Tea Party folks and our constitution, it falls under a simple category of response now.Too little, too late. Obama care’s days may be over soon By Laurie Roth SEPT 14,10

A federal judge in Florida declared that big portions of a lawsuit can likely go forward to trial. Suits against Obama Health care have been launched by 20 states so far and Tuesday there will be a hearing on the case in Pensacola FL. Obama and his minions have hoped this judge would just throw the lawsuit out but it doesn’t look that way so far. The states suing have issue with being forced to have health insurance or receive tax penalties. There is also disagreement from the states about them paying for additional Medicaid costs that the federal government won’t cover in this health bill. Many are feeling that this will go all the way to the Supreme Court.Most of us who have studied anything at all about the Health care bill find very quickly that it has very little to do about health. It has 20 hidden taxes peppered all through it and absurd taxes attached to it like Real Estate taxes, taxes on businesses, individuals, families, tanning, fancy plans, Medicare and medical Aid devices. These are just a few of the exploitive taxes and force feeds.What we need are not only lawsuits that get legs, but as soon as sane leaders get in the House and Senate again we need instant defunding and repealing of this horror show of unconstitutional control. Senator Jim DeMint sent out a letter this week regarding his strong position of repealing this bill. He is the head of the Senate Conservatives Fund which has one goal, to back strong conservatives and get them elected. So far he says of those running for office now, the following have vowed to push repealing the Health care bill: Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania; Marco Rubio in Florida; Ken Buck in Colorado; Rand Paul in Kentucky; Mike Lee in Utah; Sharron Angle in Nevada; Ron Johnson in Wisconsin; Dino Rossi in Washington; and Joe Miller in Alaska.

Senator DeMint also talks in his letter about the influence of Rhinos who are already hedging and downplaying expectations regarding a repeal. They are talking about canceling bits and pieces of the bill. I agree 1000% with the Senator. That is most unacceptable. This bill is unwanted by most Americans, it is vividly unconstitutional, we can’t remotely afford it and it shreds the quality and freedom within our health care system. It would end the best health care system in the world and for the first time have our federal Government force us all to buy a product and service whether we want to or not. Related to this whole health care/hidden tax nightmare is the already huge tax increases planned with this administration by allowing the Bush tax cuts to die at the end of Dec. The lies and distortions are boring already. The latest bad guy the Obama administration is misinterpreting and trying to shred (it ain’t working) I House Republican Leader, John Boehner who is vividly against any tax increases for all groups. The White House, as usual took his statements out of context saying he was unwilling to accept tax increases for any citizen. Boehner has fired back in his colorful way. He said I’ve got a news flash for the White House I am not willing to accept tax hikes on any American. Like so many conservative leaders, Boehner has been very concerned about any tax increases on small business in this struggling economy. Connie Hair of Human Events laid this distorted media fight between Obama and Boehner out beautifully. She recalled Boehner’s interview with Bob Schieffer on CBS Face the Nation.Schieffer did the usual, liberal, out of context spin on Boehner. Aren’t you kind of holding the tax cuts for the lower-income people, the people making less than $250,000 hostage, so you can give those tax cuts to the upper brackets? Boehner’s answer was simple and to the point when he said he wanted a tax break for all Americans. We all know that Obama and this congress must find and create enemies to blame so they can continue to tax and take more money from us. They don’t intend to give up any taxes within the Health care bill or any other scheme. They just keep inventing new ways to hide those taxes, hoping we don’t notice it is really them behind the curtain. The progressive Democrats and Obama however have no interest in sending us back to OZ however. They intend to have us pay to build the International, Wicked Witch castle that they control. The monkeys can fly at us some more but we are now a nation with buckets of water and attitudes to match. We can’t wait for the monkeys to land and try and take us.

Realizing that he has no chance of getting a comprehensive immigration reform bill passed, he has set about doing it one piece at a time, and in a rather underhanded way.He will try coming through the back door by attaching it as an amendment to the military spending bill so he can point the finger at those who vote against it and yell see they are against our troops! Reid’s boss, Barry Soetoro/Obama made a campaign promise to pass comprehensive immigration reform so Harry is trying any way he can to push this building block piece of the pie forward before the election.The only reason to push immigration reform is to pander to the Hispanic voters (I wonder how many illegal immigrants vote in our elections now?) so that soon the Democrats will be the only party just by sheer weight of numbers, that will eventually make the Democrats the power party forever, read that communism, socialism, or whatever else you want to call it, I CALL IT COMPLETE LOSS OF LIBERTY!!!

I wrote a column a couple of weeks ago entitled More Slither Than a Bag of Snakes, and for my money this just adds one more brick to that wall of accusations against Harry (the curmudgeon in chief) and that pack of snakes in Washington D.C. who still are not listening to the people.Harry: Why should people who have no respect for our laws be rewarded for breaking our laws by granting them amnesty and a path to citizenship? I have no problem with legal immigration so back where you came from, learn the language make application the legal way and then get in line.The only benefit this passage will achieve is to Harry Reid’s political career, he needs all the votes he can beg, borrow or steal as his race against Sharon Angle is down to the wire neck and neck, and he may soon be unemployed (please G-d let it be so).The folks at La Raza (a pro immigrant advocacy group) seem to be of the opinion that passage of the Dream Act would build the momentum for Comprehensive Immigration Reform.I am still waiting for just one politician who can step up and define for us the term Comprehensive immigration reform, what the hell is that supposed to mean anyway?

Why do major religions react in radically different ways to similar stimulus? For example, why would desecration of one religion’s holy books bring mostly shrugs, whereas another religion threatens armed conflict when their guru is spoofed? It is part of the modern American myth to accept that all religions teach the same thing, and lead to the same place.This patent falsehood can be traced to Joseph Campbell and like minds who helped spread this brain-numbing disease of universalism. But what is the organic source of Muslim rage? This issue must be raised by Western politicians and officials as we are increasingly forced to adapt to Muslim communities, beliefs and practices.It is unfair to ascribe unpleasant traits to an entire class of people that are shared by only part. But it would be suicidal for Americans to completely ignore the history and beliefs of a movement that is growing stronger, which has an explosive past, and that admittedly few understand. Of course to reduce all of Islam to anger and rage is a major error. But we must admit its adherents tend towards dramatic over-sensitivity to perceived slights. Yet, instead of making excuses for a trend that naturally saddens and makes us feel uncomfortable, we must accept Islam’s permanently aggrieved nature as a simple fact and then plan how to responsibly respond to future incidents. Along these lines, a few stories from the life of Mohammad will cast light upon the problem.

I. Multicultural Paradoxes
The recent threat by Florida pastor Terry Jones to burn copies of the Koran (aka Qur’an), versus imam Feisal Abdul Rauf’s plan to build a Ground Zero mosque has produced an interesting study in contrasts. One cannot help but note the different standards used for the two situations. On the one hand, aggrieved Americans opposed to a Muslim religious center built on property cleared by Islamic terror have been advised to accept this as an act of good faith. But when a small-time pastor threatened to burn a copy of the Muslim holy book, Americans were again advised to be sensitive to the Muslim need to have their holy writ absolutely protected. Is this a contradiction, or an acceptable standard? It is interesting that Islam has been essentially given the status of a little brother when it acts up, and concessions appear to be perpetually made on its behalf. But there is nothing amusing about Fatwas being called out on authors, or seeing massive public prayer demonstrations made in public streets, or any of the various violent attacks made on Western sites in the last few decades.

It is obvious for Islam to be treated as an equal and looked upon with respect that it must live up to modern standards of religious practice. But let’s being honest—Muslims in Western countries are not going to repatriate to the Saudi Peninsula, Afghanistan, Iraq, etc because they are criticized by their neighbors. And undoubtedly, truth be known, these expatriate Muslims live better, safer and more privileged lives than they did in their Muslim home states. Therefore, these Western Muslims ought to be given every encouragement to liberalize and separate off from the violent old creed. This means we consider taking the time and initiative to engage these newcomers in discussions about American history, our religious ideals, and the beauties of our Constitution and Bill of Rights.But what explains the curious Muslim impetus towards violent reactions to what they regard as acts of impiety? A brief study of the life of Mohammad provides some suggestions.

II. Studied Revenge or Unpleasant Coincidence?
A few incidents from the life of Muhammad give an unsettling premonition into the tenor of tolerance of Islam as a whole. Peerless historian of Islam Alfred Guillaume, in his book Islam, tells of an early interaction between Muhammad and the Jews which has proved an unfortunate template for the history of the two. Also, Martin Ling, master of Sufi history, uses the earliest sources to describe the story of how Muhammad responded to a woman and old man who poked fun of him through poems.

A. Acts of Muhammad
Jews:

After Muhammad heard the voice of Allah, and then began to preach to the pagans, Christians and Jews, he received much resistance against conversion. Driven from Mecca, he left on his Hijira, and came instruct the Jews elsewhere on his identity. Muhammad explained to them the fact he was the last prophet sent. When the Arab Jews realized he was not from the line of King David, nor even Jewish, as called for in Isaiah 9 regarding the Messiah, they apparently laughed in his face and scorned his claims as possibly the result of madness. Neither did the Jews throw in with his army. Muhammad never forgot or forgave this egregious act of impiety.When Muhammad finally conquered Mecca he took all the remaining Jews of Medina, dug an enormous pit and began the grisly holy work of beheading 800 Jewish men in the public square. Apparently this took an entire day and long into the evening. Then the women were passed off to the Muslims as concubines while the children were sold off into slavery.

An Evil Old Man & Wretched Poetesses:

According to both Martin Lings in his Muhammad, His Life Based On The Earliest Sources, and Alfred Guillaume’s translation of from the Sirat Rasul Allah by Ibn Ishaq (The Life of Muhammad), the founder of Islam was tormented by a young woman from Mecca, Asma bint Marwan. She had been putting out poetry criticizing Muhammad when he asked, in exasperation, Who will rid me of Marwan’s daughter? His follower Amayr b. Adiy al-Khatami went late at night to her house and ran a sword through her, having first pulled a suckling infant off her chest before the execution. When Muhammad heard of this brave feat the next day, he said, You have helped God and His Apostle, O Umayr! A very aged man, Abu Afak—purportedly over 100 years old, was also executed for lampooning Muhammad through poetry. He was killed by Salem b. Omayr after Muhammad heard of his verse and exclaimed, “Who will deal with this rascal for me?” Apparently, Asma Bint Marwan had heard of the old man’s execution which angered her into composing her own demeaning verses. Obviously, Muhammad did not accept criticism by poem.

B. Muslim Law & Tribalism: Lex Talionis
It would be impossible to overlook the strong element of Lex Talionis, or An eye for an eye justice at the root of the Koran. The composition of the Muslim law, or Shari’ah, is no mystery, according to unparalleled orientalist Joseph Schacht. He points out in his Introduction to Muslim Law that a strong element found within Shari’ah is tribal or pagan law. Some of the most savage aspects of the Shari’ah, including judicial amputations for theft, etc, which can be traced to this pagan code.One of the signal elements of Shari’ah is the fact that there appears to be no spirit of Natural Law in this code, meaning that punishments meted out centuries ago cannot be updated regardless of the barbarity. An example is the stoning of women, or lashing of apostates. Because this law is presented as perfect, it is not changed since one cannot update perfection.

C. Koran
The Koran (Qur’an) itself also calls for what appears violent acts and lawless deeds. As opposed to listing all the violent surahs (chapters), linked is a site where the reader might peruse them and decide for themselves whether these are the godly sentiments. If so, then we must decide how to integrate them into our society.

As one author writes,The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called hypocrites and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter. (continued)

D. Arab Psychology
According to Raphael Patai, in his book The Arab Mind, there are certain hallmarks of Arab and Muslim thought. First, is a belief that emotions cannot be held always in check, and that it is perfectly understandable when great anger or grief is unleashed. The result is a tendency to be overly emotional and offer blind loyalty to their causes. The scholar of Muslim society, Sania Hamady, in Temperament and Character of the Arabs, describes this as a balance between the quick-temper versus a typical sense of fatalistic resignation. Such outbursts of temper will strike most often in crowds and quite frequently include utter disregard for personal safety.

Patai also describes the Muslim tendency to attack randomly all foreigners when one group is initially targeted, a characteristic Middle East expert Bernard Lewis, in The Jews of Islam, claims represents a warring against all unbelievers, writing it was al-kufru millatun wahida ...ie the realm of the unbelievers is one nation. Patai also claims there is a deep-felt need in the Arab psyche for personal revenge, as characterized by the blood-feud, described by the phrase “Dam butlab dam,or Blood demands blood.” In fact, Patai describes this as one of the chief historic attributes of the Arab people, being a propensity towards strife and conflict, and the carrying of long grudges.

E. Jihad
Obviously, the doctrine of jihad is enormously controversial, but a few general remarks are apropos. First, it has been claimed, ad nauseam, that… Islam is a religion of peace. What exactly this sentiment would mean to an Arab from the classical period (Ayyam al-Arab, aka the Days of the Arabs) would be hard to fathom. But we can at least note that ancient Arabia boasted a warrior ethos which other antiquated societies, like ancient Greece, also claimed. There was no pacifist movement in the ancient world, and any person suggesting such would have found themselves excluded very quickly from the protective environs of the tribe. As Michael Bonner writes in Jihad In Islamic History, Doctrines & Practice, Islam arose in an environment where warfare—or at any rate, armed violence with some kind of organization and planning—was characteristic of everyday life.And Islam, having never had a Reformation, still carries the warrior mentality in its ethos to this day.Second, and perhaps even more important, there was never a debate in ancient Islam about the “Just War” as developed by Saint Augustine, according to Bonner. The reason for this is quite easy to explain. Muslims followed Muhammad’s theory of God, not Christ’s. Islam does not value the notion of turning the other cheek, as Jesus taught. Instead, this society was seen as bathed in blood from ceaseless strife, struggle and warfare. A dichotomy was presented: There is a House of Peace (or Allah) and a House of War. All unbelievers live in the House of War, and therefore the House of God can attack the unbelievers at any time, justly. Therefore, a Muslim Just War has always been one which pitted Muslims against unbelievers.

III. 9/11 Mosques & Burnt Korans
What is more objectionable—building a Muslim outreach center where Muslim terrorists killed 3,000 Americans, or torching a copy of the Koran? Perhaps the question has no definitive answer, being a case of apples versus oranges. Instead, the query simply highlights the irony of the different responses of the two religions. While America is struggling to come to terms with what tolerance looks like for an ancient, violent creed we do not understand. Meanwhile, it seems the entire Muslim world is poised to leap into action at the slightest provocation, or the tiniest spark, as it were.America’s way has always been based upon various Christian theories of government and religious tolerance, since our founding. This raises an interesting question: Given the claim by both Christianity and Islam of having the last prophetic voice of mankind—can anyone imagine Jesus having 800 Pharisees or Sadducee Jews put to death for refusing to accept His religious claims? Further, is it even conceivable that Christ would have had an old man or pregnant woman with suckling babe on chest—slaughtered for writing insulting poems? Perhaps it is therefore time we ask American Muslims to filter their ideas about God and Muhammad through the lens of Jesus, who died nobly for others instead of killing for his reputation or beliefs, and yet whose Spirit lives in America. After all, good Muslims say they believe in Jesus.

IV. Conclusion
Aristotle writes about the telos which is the direction in which a thing naturally moves. Could it be that Islam’s natural telos ~ at this point in time~ still moves towards the primitive and savage, being fixated on anger, revenge, over-reaction, and violence? If so, this still does not mean all Muslims tend towards violence, or that Islam cannot evolve. After all, isn’t it time Islam finally had its Reformation? Protestantism occurred about 1,500 years after Christ. Today it has been about 1,500 years since Muhammad preached. So the timing couldn’t be any better to turn over a new leaf, put aside violence, and embrace religious tolerance and civil society.Until Islam does have a genuine Reformation, and gives up physical attacks, sexism, and primitive punishments, the majority of Americans will have mixed feelings about the religion. Until then, can we perhaps find some failsafe (Fail-safe describes a feature which, in the event of failure, responds in a way that will cause no harm, or at least a minimum of harm…) way to keep a handle Islam’s surfeit of anger and violence? And what might a Failsafe Islam look like? One which is kept in check by legal and ethical guidelines, those acceptable for America’s traditions and rights based theory of the Good Life. Hopefully, time will tell soon enough.

Carbon dioxide (CO2) is much maligned these days. The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and their political proponents like to ascribe just about anything to climate change which, in turn, is supposedly caused by increased CO2 in the earth’s atmosphere. Governments around the globe are considering schemes to tax CO2 emissions. In order to have their people buy into such schemes, a steady barrage of claims has been unleashed upon the public, many of which bear little scientific scrutiny. One of the most misleading statements in this regard has been made by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) which recently declared CO2 to be a dangerous pollutant. This is a prime example of how science has become politicized and distorted, certainly in regard to CO2.

CO2 level and sources
The atmosphere contains currently a bit less than 0.04% CO2. The rest is mainly oxygen (20%) and nitrogen (79%). Before the industrial age, CO2 in the atmosphere perhaps was more like 0.03%, although in pre-historic times, it was substantially higher. EPA claims that this increase of 0.01% or even just a part of it is causing undesirable climate change and may endanger public health and welfare. However, the scientific evidence for any of these consequences is lacking. Prior to mankind’s exponential growth, say 1,000 years ago, when the world population counted in the millions, compared to about 7 billion at present, essentially all CO2 in the atmosphere came from natural sources, primarily volcanic emission. Nearly every volcanic eruption emits large amounts of gases, magma and ash. Apart from steam (water vapour), the most common constituent of such gases is CO2. Moreover, the earth has many thousands of volcanic vents along some 60,000 km of tectonic rifts, both on land and under the sea, through which CO2-laden gas is being emitted more or less continuously. Even now, most of the CO2 in the atmosphere is from these natural sources.

Life and CO2
Nearly all life on earth depends on the presence of CO2 in the atmosphere. Without any CO2, the earth would be a barren place, like the moon, or our neighbouring planets, Venus and Mars. There would be no plant growing on land or in the water, nor any of the many animals in the water, on land or in the air. All these life forms on earth depend on the presence of CO2 in the atmosphere. The entire amount of carbon in all these life forms (including us humans) has been created from atmospheric CO2 via photosynthesis and taken up through the food chain. But this is not end of why we need CO2 in the atmosphere. Without CO2 and photosynthesis, there would be no oxygen to breathe. The entire world’s supply of free (molecular) oxygen has been created from CO2 via photosynthesis over the last three billion years or so.

Natural CO2 sinks
Contrary to the belief that CO2, once in the atmosphere, stays there for many years (the term used by EPA is long-lived), this is not the case. It is constantly being absorbed by water and plants on land. In the water is either becomes precipitated as calcium carbonate (limestone), or is taken up by algae and converted to plant matter. So, there is a dynamic equilibrium between the CO2 in the atmosphere and that in the water. The steady supply of CO2 to the atmosphere (mainly from volcanic emissions) and the consumption by plants keep it in balance. Overall, the result is termed a steady state. In a steady state, individual molecules are constantly being added and removed, but the overall balance reamins more or less constant. A simple calculation of mankind’s production of CO2 from fossil fuels shows that over the last one hundred years, if there were no natural removal processes, CO2 would have increased to approximately 100,000 parts per million, or 10% in the air. As the atmosphere contains only 0.04% CO2, it is obvious that this CO2 is no longer there. In fact, the CO2 level in the atmosphere has barely budged from pre-industrial times. This can only be explained by a strong natural removal process. Given the much larger concurrent CO2 emissions from natural sources, one can see that the oceans and plants on land are soaking up the atmospheric CO2 at a fast rate. Therefore, CO2 in the atmosphere is not long-lived. Furthermore, as the absorption rate of CO2 by the oceans is governed by the concentration gradient between the phases (air and water), a higher CO2 level in air results in a higher gradient and an increased rate of absorption by the water.

CO2 effects
There are two main worries about the increasing CO2 levels in the atmosphere, as pronounced by the tax CO2 emissions camp. The first one is the unproven belief that it creates climate change. The second is the belief that it causes ocean acidification. The latter for sure is total bunk. The photosynthesis process in oceans converts the CO2 to neutral and basic (the opposite of acidic) materials. In terms of climate change, there are dozens of sophisticated computer models (running on super-computers) which claim to estimate the earth’s climate (past and present) from CO2 levels. None of these models can satisfactorily explain the natural temperature variations, ice ages, and other cooling and warming periods prior to man’s arrival or even over the last few hundred years. This is really not surprising, as the most important climate-influencing variable is not even part of these equations, namely the energy-transfer effects of water vapour in and out of the atmosphere.

Conclusion
It ought to be self-evident that CO2 is not only NOT a pollutant, but absolutely vital to life on earth. EPA’s decision to define it as a dangerous pollutant is contrary to all evidence and, frankly, mind-boggling. Even if the claimed increase of approximately 0.01% CO2 in our atmosphere over the last 100 years did have any weather and climate related effects – and that view is being challenged by many scientists – a higher CO2 level in the atmosphere fosters higher primary productivity and biomass generation by plants. Higher agricultural crop yields will follow from that and benefit the hungry world.Naming CO2 a dangerous pollutant is voodoo science.
