Since so much reaction has accompanied the HAARP project, which is to be rated at 3.6Megawatts cw, compared to the 100 Megawatts to 1 terrawatt of the initial North Slope Gas Concepts idea base, it is clear that international cooperation and disclosure must be obtained for future high power antenna applications no matter how benificial they seem.Fortunately, this TSPS (Thunderstorm Solar Power Satellite) concept is not part of the military or the government and there is an opportunity to discuss it, and discard it if that is the best thing to do. Also, in the first paper, Dr. Eastlund stated, The public must be involved in the development of the concept from the start...the public itself must want to accept the risks involved.

NEW PARADIGMS FOR PLANET EARTH

Symbiotic Nuclear Power
Electricity driven ultra-high temperature plasma processor devices can separate radioactive materials and can lead to a resolution of the nuclear waste storage issue. Instead of sealed facilities that have to be guarded for thousands of years, the Symbiotic Nuclear Power concept is to use the radioactive waste to produce electricity generators that last for thousands of years, providing future societies with power. This would provide an alternative to Yucca mountain and help make nuclear power a practical near term energy source, along with wind, and solar.

Electricity and Hydrogen Directly from Underground Hydrocarbons
The ecological impact of hydrocarbon fuels could be reduced by the MEMSCOAL, MEMSOIL and MEMSSHALE concepts in which the hydrocarbons are processed in the formation, using horizontal drilling techniques and micro-fluidic processors to produce and deliver electricity and hydrogen to the surface. The hydrocarbon and the CO2 would never reach the atmosphere and the earth would not have to be torn up by mining.

The Fusion Torch
The long term energy and materials problems can be solved with the Fusion Torch concept which was conceived by Dr. Bernard Eastlund and William C. Gough in 1968. It is based on the inherent technological characteristics of ionized plasmas that are hot enough to fuse atoms and create energy in a manner similar to the stars. These hot plasmas can ionize any solid and can separate the elements to provide separated elements in place of the myriad chemicals in waste. The goals of this concept are to close the materials cycle while producing electricity or hydrogen.

These new approaches could effectively eliminate the environmental pressure on the
planet. Symbiotic nuclear power and underground production of electricity provide near term solutions while the Fusion Torch provides the long term solution. A beneficial result would be a shift from growth economics to stationary state economics which would naturally lead to conservation of resources -- such economics favors long life products.

U. S. PATENT 4,686,605 INTRODUCTION HAARP

HAARP is a large phased array electromagnetic wave generator located in Alaska. The involvement of Dr. Bernard Eastlund in its creation has been well documented in books and in magazine articles and newspapers. During the period in which many of the books and articles were written, Dr. Eastlund was under a 15 year confidentiality agreement with ARCO (The Atlantic Richfield Company). That confidentiality agreement has now matured. This web site will present information regarding the development of the ARCO patents and the founding of APTI (Now owned by AES Corporation) the corporation managing the HAARP facility. (The ARCO patents referred to in this web site are three patents that Dr. Eastlund assigned
to ARCO because he was a consultant. They are 1) U. S. Patent 4,686,605, 4,712,155 and 5,038,664.

The web site is divided into four sections: The HAARPROOTS section presents historical material from the early period of the development of the inventions. HIGH ALTITUDE NUCLEAR EXPLOSIONS
One of the inspirations for the ARCO patents came from Dr. Eastlund's friendship with Nicholas Christofilos, a research scientist at the Livermore National Laboratory who was the inspiration of a series of high altitude nuclear explosions. The residue of these tests was a high population of MEV electrons trapped in what are now referred to as the Van Allen belts. These electrons presented a danger to
satellites because of their ability to penetrate solids, and to heat or disable materials in the satellites.

LABORATORY GENERATED MEV ELECTRONS

Eastlund combined this knowledge base with a means of creating MEV electrons that he was familiar with through a former position as a physicist with the U. S. Atomic energy program. A resonant heating method of creating MEV electrons using RF waves was developed and exploited by the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) Subsequent plasma devices have generated MEV electrons in the laboratory with resonant heating. A figure from the Large Helical Device project depicts such electrons confined by a
magnetic field.

THE ARCO PATENTS (ASSIGNED TO APTI)

Eastlund combined the ideas of MEV electrons in space with the technology to generate MEV electrons using electromagnetic waves to create the idea of a missile shield and other applications of MEV electrons by inventing a large antenna array in Alaska to project RF electromagnetic waves to intersectwith the earth's geomagnetic field at high altitude. The subsequent relativistic electrons would destroy enemy missiles if they intersected with missile trajectories. See HAARPMEVELECTRONS.

MEV ELECTRONS

MEV ELECTRONS the HAARP system, or a system like it only larger, could accelerate copius numbers of MEV electrons along magnetic field lines in the atmosphere, then, in our opinion, this could be the greatest threat to modern military satellite technology. A ROADMAP FOR NORTH SLOPE GAS CONCEPT DEVELOPMENT
A roadmap for North Slope Gas Development was developed in 1986. This included concepts from the original 3 ARCO patents and new ideas developed or embellished by subcontractors from Titan Systems Corporation and SAIC Corporation. The major subsections of the roadmap were:

THE ARCO PATENTS
The science of weather modification is in its infancy. When the ARCO patents were written in 1984, the only scientific approach was salting clouds with silver iodide. One of the reasons weather modification is not a science is that scientists have made what they considered to be reasonable assessments of the relative size of forcing technologies (such as wind generators, microwave heaters, or explosions) and determined that the large size of weather systems make it useless to attempt to change weather patterns with human intervention.

The energy turnover of a storm system can be related to an equivalent power through the rainfall rate. The various severe storm categories are related to the total electric power consumption of New York City in the table
below:

The power levels required for the ARCO antenna to create MEV electrons and defeat a missile attack by the Soviet Union was estimated to require generation of a power equivalent to 100,000 New York Cities for a time period of 20 minutes.

Dr. Eastlund was aware that these power levels were equivalent to the power in such big systems and also comparable to the local energy in the stratosphere of the polar jet stream, which comes near the Prudhoe Bay ARCO installation. For that reason, two of the patents included suggestions for weather modification. (See figure
above.)

In U. S. Patent 4,712,155 Eastlund states,In one embodiment of the invention, electron cyclotron resonance heating is carried out in the selected region at sufficient power levels to allow the plasma to generate a mirror force which forces the charged electrons of the altered plasma upward along the force line to an altitude which is higher than the original altitude. As the plasma moves upward, other particles from the atmosphere at the same altitude as the selected region move horizontally into the region to replace the rising plasma and to form new plasma. The kinetic energy developed by said other particles as they move horizontally is on the same order of magnitude of as the total zonal kinetic energy of stratospheric winds known to exist at altitudes equal to the region being altered. Since there is evidence that these stratospheric winds may be linked to certain weather patterns on
earth, the present method may be used to affect similar patterns.

In U. S. Patent 4,686,605 Eastlund states, Weather modification is possible by, for example, altering upper atmosphere wind patterns or altering solar absorption patterns by constructing one or more plumes of atmospheric particles which will act as a lens or focusing device.

IS HAARP THE RIGHT SIZE?
HAARP is not nearly as big as the systems envisioned in the original ARCO patents. However, this led Dr. Eastlund to further investigate how to influence severe weather by artificial means. The Thunderstorm Solar Power Satellite was one of the results of this reasoning. Another approach is to produce plasmas in the
atmosphere and utilize various properties of those plasmas for surgical heating of sensitive areas of storms.

HAARP AND GRAVITY WAVES
Gravity waves have received much attention over the last 5 years as an important initiator or cause of some severe weather phenomena.

Angels Don’t Play This HAARP: Advances in Tesla Technology is about the military’s plan to manipulate that which belongs to the world — the ionosphere. The arrogance of the United States government in this is not without precedent.

Weather Warfare
The significant expansion in America’s weather warfare arsenal, which is a priority of the Department of Defense is not a matter for debate or discussion. While, environmentalists blame the Bush administration for not having signed the Kyoto protocol, the issue of weather warfare, namely the manipulation of weather patterns for military use is never mentioned.The US Air Force has the capability of manipulating climate either for testing purposes or for outright military-intelligence use. These capabilities extend to the triggering of floods, hurricanes, droughts and earthquakes. Climatic Manipulation by the US Military: The HAARP Program
The High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) based in Gokona, Alaska, has been in existence since 1992. It is part of a new generation of sophisticated weaponry under the US Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI). Operated by the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Space Vehicles Directorate, HAARP constitutes a system of powerful antennas capable of creating controlled local modifications of the ionosphere[upper layer of the atmosphere]:[HAARP will be used] to induce a small, localized change in ionospheric temperature so that resulting physical reactions can be studied by other instruments located either at or close to the HAARP site. Nicholas Begich –actively involved in the public campaign against HAARP– describes HAARP as:A super-powerful radiowave-beaming technology that lifts areas of the ionosphere by focusing a beam and heating those areas. Electromagnetic waves then bounce back onto earth and penetrate everything — living and dead.World renowned scientist Dr. Rosalie Bertell depicts HAARP as a gigantic heater that can cause major disruptions in the ionosphere, creating not just holes, but long incisions in the protective layer that keeps deadly radiation from bombarding the planet. According to Richard Williams, a physicist and consultant to the David Sarnoff laboratory in Princeton.HAARP constitutes an irresponsible act of global vandalism. He and others fear a secret second stage where HAARP would beam much more energy into the ionosphere. That could produce a severe disruption of the upper atmosphere at one location that may produce effects that spread rapidly around the Earth for years.HAARP has been presented to public opinion as a program of scientific and academic research. US military documents seem to suggest, however, that HAARP’s main objective is to exploit the ionosphere for Department of Defense purposes.Without explicitly referring to the HAARP program, a US Air Force study points to the use of induced ionospheric modifications as a means of altering weather patterns as well as disrupting enemy communications and radar. -Was Katrina a man made hurricane? Richard Hoagland has this to say: …what we are seeing in this extraordinary radar sequence … is the standard NEXRAD radar signal being — somehow — reflected back from the clear air over and around New Orleans … air which has somehow been made radar reflective by the application of an otherwise invisible energy signature … from somewhere.While the precise nature of this anomalous reflection mechanism is currently unknown — without further information from other sensor systems — possibilities range from actual ionization of the air itself (making it more electrically conductive — and thus radar reflective), to equally anomalous wavelike changes in the density of the air within the rotating radar beam ….In the HD Model, it is this HD imprinting of New Orleans, by this impossible (in current physics) energy vortex signature which … 12 days later … literally attracted Hurricane Katrina right to New Orleans … exactly like a homesick homing pigeon! Both the Americans and the Russians have developed capabilities to manipulate the World's climate.In the US, the technology is being perfected under the High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) as part of the (Star Wars) Strategic Defence Initiative (SDI). From a military standpoint, HAARP is a weapon of mass destruction. Neither the official delegations nor the environmental action groups participating in the Hague Conference on Climate Change (CO6) (November 2000) have raised the broad issue of weather warfare or environmental modification techniques (ENMOD) as relevant to an understanding of climate change.The clash between official negotiators, environmentalists and American business lobbies has centered on Washington's outright refusal to abide by commitments on carbon dioxide reduction targets under the 1997 Kyoto protocol.(1) The impacts of military technologies on the World's climate are not an object of discussion or concern. Narrowly confined to greenhouse gases, the ongoing debate on climate change serves Washington's strategic and defense objectives.

WEATHER WARFARE

World renowned scientist Dr. Rosalie Bertell confirms that US military scientists ... are working on weather systems as a potential weapon. The methods include the enhancing of storms and the diverting of vapor rivers in the Earth's atmosphere to produce targeted droughts or floods.(2) Already in the 1970s, former National Security advisor Zbigniew Brzezinski had foreseen in his book Between Two Ages that:Technology will make available, to the leaders of major nations, techniques for conducting secret warfare, of which only a bare minimum of the security forces need be appraised... [T]echniques of weather modification could be employed to produce prolonged periods of drought or storm.Marc Filterman, a former French military officer, outlines several types of unconventional weapons using radio frequencies. He refers to weather war, indicating that the U.S. and the Soviet Union had already mastered the know-how needed to unleash sudden climate changes (hurricanes, drought) in the early 1980s.(3) These technologies make it possible to trigger atmospheric disturbances by using Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) radar [waves].(4)

A simulation study of future defense scenarios commissioned for the US Air Force calls for:US aerospace forces to own the weather by capitalizing on emerging technologies and focusing development of those technologies to war-fighting applications... From enhancing friendly operations or disrupting those of the enemy via small-scale tailoring of natural weather patterns to complete dominance of global communications and counterspace control, weather-modification offers the war fighter a wide-range of possible options to defeat or coerce an adversary... In the United States, weather-modification will likely become a part of national security policy with both domestic and international applications. Our government will pursue such a policy, depending on its interests, at various levels.(5)

HIGH-FREQUENCY ACTIVE AURORAL RESEARCH PROGRAM (HAARP)

The High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) based in Gokoma Alaska --jointly managed by the US Air Force and the US Navy-- is part of a new generation of sophisticated weaponry under the US Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI). Operated by the Air Force Research Laboratory's Space Vehicles Directorate, HAARP constitutes a system of powerful antennas capable of creating controlled local modifications of the ionosphere. Scientist Dr. Nicholas Begich --actively involved in the public campaign against HAARP-- describes HAARP as:A super-powerful radiowave-beaming technology that lifts areas of the ionosphere [upper layer of the atmosphere] by focusing a beam and heating those areas. Electromagnetic waves then bounce back onto earth and penetrate everything -- living and dead.(6)Dr. Rosalie Bertell depicts HAARP as a gigantic heater that can cause major disruption in the ionosphere, creating not just holes, but long incisions in the protective layer that keeps deadly radiation from bombarding the planet.7

MISLEADING PUBLIC OPINION

HAARP has been presented to public opinion as a program of scientific and academic research. US military documents seem to suggest, however, that HAARP's main objective is to exploit the ionosphere for Department of Defense purposes.(8) Without explicitly referring to the HAARP program, a US Air Force study points to the use of induced ionospheric modifications as a means of altering weather patterns as well as disrupting enemy communications and radar.9 According to Dr. Rosalie Bertell, HAARP is part of a integrated weapons' system, which has potentially devastating environmental consequences:It is related to fifty years of intensive and increasingly destructive programs to understand and control the upper atmosphere. It would be rash not to associate HAARP with the space laboratory construction which is separately being planned by the United States. HAARP is an integral part of a long history of space research and development of a deliberate military nature. The military implications of combining these projects is alarming. ... The ability of the HAARP / Spacelab/ rocket combination to deliver very large amount of energy, comparable to a nuclear bomb, anywhere on earth via laser and particle beams, are frightening. The project is likely to be "sold" to the public as a space shield against incoming weapons, or, for the more gullible, a device for repairing the ozone layer. (10)

In addition to weather manipulation, HAARP has a number of related uses:HAARP could contribute to climate change by intensively bombarding the atmosphere with high-frequency rays... Returning low-frequency waves at high intensity could also affect people's brains, and effects on tectonic movements cannot be ruled out. (11)More generally, HAARP has the ability of modifying the World's electro-magnetic field. It is part of an arsenal of electronic weapons which US military researchers consider a gentler and kinder warfare. (12)

WEAPONS OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER

HAARP is part of the weapons arsenal of the New World Order under the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI). From military command points in the US, entire national economies could potentially be destabilized through climatic manipulations. More importantly, the latter can be implemented without the knowledge of the enemy, at minimal cost and without engaging military personnel and equipment as in a conventional war.The use of HAARP -- if it were to be applied -- could have potentially devastating impacts on the World's climate. Responding to US economic and strategic interests, it could be used to selectively modify climate in different parts of the World resulting in the destabilization of agricultural and ecological systems.It is also worth noting that the US Department of Defense has allocated substantial resources to the development of intelligence and monitoring systems on weather changes. NASA and the Department of Defense's National Imagery and Mapping Agency (NIMA) are working on imagery for studies of flooding, erosion, land-slide hazards, earthquakes, ecological zones, weather forecasts, and climate change with data relayed from satellites. (13)

POLICY INERTIA OF THE UNITED NATIONS

According to the Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) signed at the 1992 Earth Summit in Rio de Janeiro:States have... in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and the principles of international law, the (...) responsibility to ensure that activities within their jurisdiction or control do not cause damage to the environment of other States or of areas beyond the limits of national jurisdiction.(14)It is also worth recalling that an international Convention ratified by the UN General Assembly in 1997 bans military or other hostile use of environmental modification techniques having widespread, long-lasting or severe effects.(15) Both the US and the Soviet Union were signatories to the Convention. The Convention defines environmental modification techniques as referring to any technique for changing--through the deliberate manipulation of natural processes--the dynamics, composition or structure of the earth, including its biota, lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere or of outer space.(16)Why then did the UN --disregarding the 1977 ENMOD Convention as well as its own charter-- decide to exclude from its agenda climatic changes resulting from military programs?

EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT ACKNOWLEDGES IMPACTS OF HAARP

In February 1998, responding to a report of Mrs. Maj Britt Theorin --Swedish MEP and longtime peace advocate--, the European Parliament's Committee on Foreign Affairs, Security and Defense Policy held public hearings in Brussels on the HAARP program.(17) The Committee's Motion for Resolution submitted to the European Parliament:

Considers HAARP... by virtue of its far-reaching impact on the environment to be a global concern and calls for its legal, ecological and ethical implications to be examined by an international independent body...; [the Committee] regrets the repeated refusal of the United States Administration... to give evidence to the public hearing ...into the environmental and public risks [of] the HAARP program.(18).The Committee's request to draw up a Green Paper on the environmental impacts of military activities, however, was casually dismissed on the grounds that the European Commission lacks the required jurisdiction to delve into the links between environment and defense. (19) Brussels was anxious to avoid a showdown with Washington.

FULLY OPERATIONAL

While there is no concrete evidence of HAARP having been used, scientific findings suggest that it is at present fully operational. What this means is that HAARP could potentially be applied by the US military to selectively modify the climate of an unfriendly nation or rogue state with a view to destabilizing its national economy.

Agricultural systems in both developed and developing countries are already in crisis as a result of New World Order policies including market deregulation, commodity dumping, etc. Amply documented, IMF and World Bank economic medicine imposed on the Third World and the countries of the former Soviet block has largely contributed to the destabilization of domestic agriculture. In turn, the provisions of the World Trade Organization (WTO) have supported the interests of a handful of Western agri-biotech conglomerates in their quest to impose genetically modified (GMO) seeds on farmers throughout the World.It is important to understand the linkage between the economic, strategic and military processes of the New World Order. In the above context, climatic manipulations under the HAARP program (whether accidental or deliberate) would inevitably exacerbate these changes by weakening national economies, destroying infrastructure and potentially triggering the bankruptcy of farmers over vast areas. Surely national governments and the United Nations should address the possible consequences of HAARP and other non-lethal weapons on climate change.

Nick Begich: HAARP, Weather Control and Mind Control

-This is a fascinating interview! Dr. Nick Begich writer of Angels Don’t Play This HAARP, goes on the Coast To Coast show in 2003. Dr Begich explains the weather control technology that the military industrial complex already possessed. He also explains the science behind HAARP and how this technology can be used for mind control. HAARP uses frequency range that is the same as the human brain. By sending specific frequencies, the populace can be made to feel different emotions/manipulations: fear, ecstasy…influencing elections… etc. The military industrial complex undoubtedly has some of these mind control equipment in their black ops arsenal.

The Military’s Pandora’s Box
…. The mental-disruption possibilities for HAARP are the most disturbing. More than 40 pages of the book, with dozens of footnotes, chronicle the work of Harvard professors, military planners and scientists as they plan and test this use of the electromagnetic technology. For example, one of the papers describing this use was from the International Red Cross in Geneva. It even gave the frequency ranges where these effects could occur — the same ranges which HAARP is capable of broadcasting.

The following statement was made more than twenty-five years ago in a book by Brzezinski which he wrote while a professor at Columbia University:Political strategists are tempted to exploit research on the brain and human behavior. Geophysicist Gordon J.F. MacDonald, a specialist in problems of warfare, says accurately-timed, artificially-excited electronic strokes could lead to a pattern of oscillations that produce relatively high power levels over certain regions of the earth … in this way one could develop a system that would seriously impair the brain performance of very large populations in selected regions over an extended period.
… no matter how deeply disturbing the thought of using the environment to manipulate behavior for national advantages, to some, the technology permitting such use will very probably develop within the next few decades.In 1966, MacDonald was a member of the President’s Science Advisory Committee and later a member of the President’s Council on Environmental Quality. He published papers on the use of environmental control technologies for military purposes. The most profound comment he made as a geophysicist was, the key to geophysical warfare is the identification of environmental instabilities to which the addition of a small amount of energy would release vastly greater amounts of energy. While yesterday’s geophysicists predicted today’s advances, are HAARP program managers delivering on the vision?

As early as 1970, Zbigniew Brzezinski predicted a more controlled and directed society would gradually appear, linked to technology. This society would be dominated by an elite group which impresses voters by allegedly superior scientific know-how. Angels Don’t Play This HAARP further quotes Brzezinski:Unhindered by the restraints of traditional liberal values, this elite would not hesitate to achieve its political ends by using the latest modern techniques for influencing public behavior and keeping society under close surveillance and control. Technical and scientific momentum would then feed on the situation it exploits, Brzezinski predicted.His forecasts proved accurate. Today, a number of new tools for the elite are emerging, and the temptation to use them increases steadily. The policies to permit the tools to be used are already in place. How could the United States be changed, bit by bit, into the predicted highly-controlled technosociety? Among the steppingstones Brzezinski expected were persisting social crises and use of the mass media to gain the public’s confidence.

In another document prepared by the government, the U.S. Air Force claims: The potential applications of artificial electromagnetic fields are wide-ranging and can be used in many military or quasi-military situations… Some of these potential uses include dealing with terrorist groups, crowd control, controlling breaches of security at military installations, and antipersonnel techniques in tactical warfare. In all of these cases the EM (electromagnetic) systems would be used to produce mild to severe physiological disruption or perceptual distortion or disorientation. In addition, the ability of individuals to function could be degraded to such a point that they would be combat ineffective. Another advantage of electromagnetic systems is that they can provide coverage over large areas with a single system. They are silent and countermeasures to them may be difficult to develop… One last area where electromagnetic radiation may prove of some value is in enhancing abilities of individuals for anomalous phenomena.Do these comments point to uses already somewhat developed? The author of the government report refers to an earlier Air Force document about the uses of radio frequency radiation in combat situations. (Here Begich and Manning note that HAARP is the most versatile and the largest radio-frequency-radiation transmitter in the world.)

The greatest threats and the greatest possibilities reside within the core of who we are and what happens in the center of our minds, the seat of our souls. This is the most important book yet released from the research efforts of Dr. Nick Begich.The best deterrent that we have against acts of terrorism is to find out who is conspiring, who has the material, where they are getting it, who they are talking to, and what are their plans. In order to do that, in order to interdict the terrorists before they set off their weapon, you have to have that kind of intelligence-gathering capability, but it runs smack into our constitutional protections of privacy. And it’s a tension which will continue to exist in every free society – the reconciliation of the need for liberty and the need for law and order….that once these weapons start to be exploded people will say, Protect us. We’re willing to give up some of our liberties and some of our freedoms, but you must protect us. And that is what will lead us into this 21st century, this kind of Constitutional tension of how much protection can we provide and still preserve essential liberties.

We have reached a turning point in our history. The US and its allies are preparing to launch a nuclear war with devastating consequences. During the Cold War, the concept of mutual assured destruction (MAD) was put forth. An understanding of the consequences of nuclear war largely contributed to avoiding the outbreak of war between the US and the Soviet Union.Today, in the post-Cold war era, no such understanding prevails.The spectre of a nuclear holocaust, which haunted the world for half a century has been relegated to the status of collateral damage. This military adventure in the real sense of the word threatens the future of humanity.

While one can conceptualize the loss of life and destruction resulting from present-day wars including Iraq and Afghanistan, it is impossible to assess or fully comprehend the devastation which would result from a Third World War, using new technologies and advanced weapons systems, until it actually occurs and becomes a reality.A sequence of US sponsored wars characterizes a period of our history euphemistically referred to as the post-War era. The US led war in Afghanistan has been ongoing, in various stages, for thirty-one years. Iraq has been under US and allied military occupation for more than seven years.We are living history but at the same time we are unable to comprehend the events which shape our future and which are currently unfolding in front of our very eyes.

Meanwhile, public opinion has its eyes rivetted on what might be described as fake crises.A Third World War is no longer a hypothetical scenario. Already in 2007, president Bush had hinted in no uncertain terms that if Iran did not comply with US demands, we might reluctantly be forced into in a World War III situation: We got a leader in Iran who has announced that he wants to destroy Israel. So I've told people that if you're interested in avoiding World War III, it seems like you ought to be interested in preventing them from have the knowledge necessary to make a nuclear weapon. Real versus Fake Crises

In an utterly twisted logic, World War III is presented as a means to preserving World Peace.Iran is blamed for refusing to abide by the reasonable demands of the international community.Realities are twisted and turned upside down. Iran is being accused of wanting to start World War III. Inherent in US military doctrine, the victims of war are often heralded as the aggressor. World War III is upheld as a bona fide humanitarian undertaking which contributes to global security. In a bitter irony, those who decide on the use of nuclear weapons believe their own propaganda. President and Commander in Chief Barack Obama believes his own lies.

Neither the War nor the worldwide economic depression are understood as part of an unprecedented crisis in World history. Ironically, the dangers to humanity of an all out nuclear war do not instil fear and public concern. Instead, fake crises -- e.g. a global warming, a Worldwide flu pandemic, a false flag nuclear attack by Islamic terrorists--, are fabricated by the media, the governments, the intelligence apparatus and the Washington think tanks. An understanding of fundamental social and political events is replaced by a World of sheer fantasy, where evil folks are lurking. The purpose of these fake crises is to obfuscate the real crisis as well as instil fear and insecurity among the population: The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed ... by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary... The urge to save humanity is almost always only a false face for the urge to rule it.(H. L. Menken)While the real danger of nuclear war is barely acknowledged, these fake crises are invariably front page news.

Mass unemployment, foreclosures and poverty are not characteristic of a (social) crisis.
The legalization of torture and targeted political assassinations is not part of a (constitutional) crisis. Torturing and killing potential terrorists are intended to make the world safer.
War waged on humanitarian grounds is considered a solution to a crisis rather than its cause.
Economic Depression is not mentioned because the economic recession is said to be over. In other words there is no economic crisis.

Three Types of Fake Crises

1. A Nuclear Attack on America by Al Qaeda

Sooner or later there will be a nuclear 9/11 [by Islamic terrorists] in an American city or that of a US ally... A terrorist nuclear attack against an American city could take many forms. A worst case scenario would be the detonation of a nuclear device within a city. 2 A Global Public Health Emergency. A Global Flu Pandemic

As many as 2 billion people could become infected [H1N1] over the next two years — nearly one-third of the world population. (World Health Organization as reported by the Western media, July 2009, emphasis added)Swine flu could strike up to 40 percent of Americans over the next two years and as many as several hundred thousand could die if a vaccine campaign and other measures aren't successful.(Official Statement of the US Administration, Associated Press, 24 July 2009). The U.S. expects to have 160 million doses of swine flu vaccine available sometime in October, (Associated Press, 23 July 2009) Vaccine makers could produce 4.9 billion pandemic flu shots per year in the best-case scenario, (Margaret Chan, Director-General, World Health Organization (WHO), quoted by Reuters, 21 July 2009)

3. The Perils of Global Warming

The headline figures are: 300,000 deaths and 300 million people affected every year [by global warming] (Greenpeace, Deaths and displacement due to climate change set to grow. June 5, 2009)Climate change is life or death. It is the new global battlefield. (Wangari Maathai, Nobel Peace Laureate) Two thousand scientists, in a hundred countries, engaged in the most elaborate, well organized scientific collaboration in the history of humankind, have produced long-since a consensus that we will face a string of terrible catastrophes unless we act to prepare ourselves and deal with the underlying causes of global warming. (Al Gore, speech at National Sierra Club Convention, Sept. 9, 2005)The ultimate concern is that if runaway global warming occurred, temperatures could spiral out of control and make our planet uninhabitable.... this is the first time that a species has been at risk of generating its own demise.… The dinosaurs dominated the earth for 160 million years. The American Inquisition

Heralded as the real threat, these fake crises constitute a cover-up of the real crisis. The objective is to distort the facts, create an atmosphere of fear and intimidation as well as quell popular dissent and resistance against the established political and economic order. We are dealing with an inquisitorial environment. In the words of Monty Python: Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition! [Read the American inquisition] Our chief weapon is surprise [Read insecurity] ...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency .... Our three weapons are fear, surprise, and ruthless efficiency... and an almost fanatical devotion to the Pope [Read the US government].... Our four...no... Amongst our weapons.... Amongst our weaponry...are such elements as fear, surprise.... I'll come in again.The fear campaign underlying a fake crisis is intended to obfuscate the real crisis --including the danger of nuclear war-- as well as disarm all forms of meaningful resistance and opposition.
