Tel Aviv Synagogue Vandalized, Leftists Suspected-Vandals burn books, write graffiti against Jewish State bill at synagogue identified with Tzohar Rabbis.By Gil Ronen-First Publish: 11/30/2014, 9:01 PM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS

A Tel Aviv synagogue was vandalized Sunday with graffiti reading, “In a place where the Jewish State Bill will be legislated, books will be burned.”The vandals left a pile of burned books next to the wall that bore the graffiti. The books are not sacred texts. The attack took place at the The Tel Aviv International Synagogue where Ariel Konstantyn of te Orthodox Zionist Tzohar Rabbis organization, originally of New York, serves as rabbi. Rabbi Konstantyn says the incident has been referred to the police but he views it as a “clear act of anti-Semitism.” According to the rabbi, the timing of the attack and the explicit graffiti seem to indicate that this was perpetrated by radical left-wing activists.Rabbi Konstantyn expressed his shock saying “It is ironic and shocking that they targeted a synagogue where every perspective is respected and welcomed and where Jews are taught to love each other regardless of their political views.”The rabbi pointed out that the founding of the International Synagogue was as initiative of the Tzohar Rabbinical Organization as a hub of inclusive outreach to the greater Tel-Aviv community. Over the past few years the synagogue has hosted Shabbat & holiday programs for thousands of Jews from all walks of life and political backgrounds.Rabbi David Stav, Founder and Chairman of Tzohar said that the violent attack is an indicator of the lack of respect that exists within certain groups in Israeli society. “Rather than promote a healthy dialogue with other Jews who think differently, these individuals are resorting to the tactics of terrorists,” Rabbi Stav said.“We are all entitled to have differing viewpoints on the challenges facing our society but anyone who resorts to violence of this nature – and in particular who targets a holy sanctuary – deserves to be condemned in every manner possible.”Tzohar has been among the leading organizations working within Israeli society to promote increased dialogue on sensitive issues dividing left and right, secular and religious. “As an organization dedicated to guaranteeing the Jewish future of Israel, we understand and appreciate the differing viewpoints on the Jewish State Bill,” added Nachman Rosenberg, Executive Vice President of Tzohar. “This manner of disgraceful behavior is yet another alarming indicator of the need to remind us of who we are and what this country was founded for.”

Angel' May Strike; Bread Supply Could Dry Up-Bread could be in short supply in Israel within a few weeks, as the Histadrut took the first step to declaring a strike at Angel Bakeries-By Moshe Cohen-First Publish: 11/30/2014, 8:43 PM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS

Bread could be in short supply in Israel within a few weeks. The Histradrut labor union announced Sunday that workers at Angel Bakeries, the country's largest producer of bread, had declared a work dispute. The two sides will now enter binding arbitration on their disagreements. If the issues are not resolved within two weeks, the union has a right to declare a strike under Israeli labor laws. The union received permission to declare the work dispute Sunday from the Jerusalem District Labor Court. The union told the court that it had been seeking to negotiate a new contract for workers since May, when the old one ran out, but that management had “dragged out the proceedings for months, indicating that their entire purpose is not to conclude a labor agreement, but to avoid concluding one.” Union representatives added that management was seeking to take back concessions made in the past.A union official said Sunday that if management did not begin negotiating in good faith, “we will not hesitate to close the bakery.”In yet another labor issue, the Histadrut also declared a work dispute on behalf of 2,200 workers at Ness Technologies, one of the few high-tech companies in Israel where workers are unionized. The union accused management of making unauthorized changes to workers' contracts, and of failing to negotiate in good faith on new contracts.Neither Angel Bakery nor Ness management had any comments on the respective disputes.

Netanyahu to Meet Rogue Ministers Monday for First Time in Weeks-Prime Minister will meet ministers Lapid, Livni to see if the government is still salvageable, or whether elections are imminent.-By Hezki Ezra, Gil Ronen-First Publish: 11/30/2014, 8:38 PM-ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is scheduled to meet on Monday with Finance Minister Yair Lapid – who heads Yesh Atid – and Justice Minister Tzipi Livni – who heads Hatnua – after weeks in which they hardly exchanged words, and in which the government appeared to be heading for dissolution.
The meetings are being described as a final effort to see if agreements can be reached to make it possible for the government to continue functioning properly. Livni has torpedoed a series of bills supported by Netanyahu, and Lapid has tried to oust Netanyahu by forming a coalition with hareidi parties.Netanyahu met with Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman, Chairman of Yisrael Beytenu, Sunday, and is to meet Jewish Home Chairman Naftali Bennett Monday, besides Lapid and Livni.Sources close to Netanyahu made clear Sunday that he “is not willing to accept the continuation of the current situation, in which ministers attack the government that they are a part of as if they were opposition members, as Lapid did this week as well, including his attempts to depose a serving prime minister without elections, as MKs Litzman and Deri testified.”According to hareidi MKs Aryeh Deri of Shas and Yaakov Litzman of UTJ, Lapid approached the hareidi parties to assess whether they would be willing to form a coalition with him instead of the current government, without holding elections. They refused. The sources close to Netanyahu also said that Finance Minister Lapid is ignoring his own promise to add billions to the security budget, for advanced weapons systems and training. “Instead of this, the [IDF's] money went to national projects that are supposed to be paid for by the Finance Ministry, like transferring IDF bases to the Negev,” they accused. Lapid attacked Netanyahu earlier in the weekend during a cultural event in Tel Aviv. "The dramatic issues - the state budget, international relations, personal security of citizens, the housing issue - are all stuck in place, yet the Prime Minister is standing on the sidelines.""Instead, he is dealing with politics, polls and survival," Lapid accused, going on to blame Likud central committee members for convincing the Prime Minister not to accept his budget proposal as well as the 0% VAT law.In an interview with Army Radio earlier Sunday morning, Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon also criticized Lapid, responding to allegations he had made about Ya'alon's deteriorating relations with the United States government in Washington."If he has such great concern about the relationship with the US, then why, at a meeting on as subject as important as the new fighter aircraft (F-35), did he vote against the deal, thereby impairing the relationship with the US - this is not how a government representative should behave," Ya'alon said.Polls predict that Lapid's party will shrink from 19 to 9 or 10 MKs if elections are held soon, and that Hatnua may disappear completely or shrink to four MKs instead of the current six. And yet, the ideological enmity between Livni ad Lapid on one side, and Netanyahu on the other, is apparently such that Lapid and Livni are willing to risk political doom rather than accept Netanyahu's leadership.

Abbas: We Will Never Recognize Israel as a Jewish State-In a meeting of Arab foreign ministers, Abbas again rejects recognition of Israel, says he will join international conventions and treaties.By Elad Benari-First Publish: 11/30/2014, 6:16 AM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS

"We will never recognize the Jewishness of the state of Israel," Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas declared on Saturday.Abbas’s statement came at a meeting of Arab foreign ministers and was quoted by Channel 10 News. At that same meeting, the foreign ministers announced their “categorical rejection of recognizing Israel as a Jewish state.”According to Channel 10, Abbas said in his remarks at the meeting that the security coordination between Israel and the PA would be suspended unless peace negotiations resume. He further said that he demanded that the United States and its Secretary of State John Kerry work together with him to create an outline to be submitted to the UN Security Council and which would pressure Israel to stop “settlement construction.”"The situation in [Judea and Samaria] is dangerous and cannot continue. All indications are that the American mediation failed to complete the negotiations," Abbas was quoted as having said, adding that he plans to sign international conventions and treaties, including the International Criminal Court in The Hague.Abbas is moving forward with plans  to turn to the Security Council with a resolution setting a deadline for Israel to “end the occupation”, a unilateral move that is in violation of the Oslo Accords. The move has been accompanied by threats, with Abbas having recently threatened to cut ties with Israel if his latest unilateral move at the UN fails.Even though the PA has reaffirmed several times it would be going through with the unilateral move, reports earlier this week said that the PA postponed submitting the resolution, in order to buy time in continuing to lobby for the required nine council members to vote for the move.

Abbas Presents 'Plan of Attack' for Palestinian State-Details of Abbas's speech to the Arab League reveal full-fledged scheme to bypass Oslo Accords and declare Palestinian state.By Dalit Halevy, Tova Dvorin-First Publish: 11/30/2014, 11:54 AM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS

More details have been released regarding Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's speech to the Arab League on Saturday revealing that Abbas has concocted a comprehensive plan to flatten Israel politically and bypass the need for bilateral negotiations to establish a Palestinian state.Abbas's plan includes approaching the UN Security Council with a draft resolution to establish the state in Judea and Samaria, over 1949 Armistice lines - as he has threatened to do before. However, the details of the plan include a specific "plan of attack" against Israel, as follows:To turn to the UN Security Council with the draft resolution for a Palestinian state, with its capital in Jerusalem. To add the "State of Palestine" to international bodies and organizations, including the International Criminal Court (ICC), and file charges against Israel. Abbas noted here that Israel has preceded him in this regard, a reference to litigation filed against him by rights group Shurat Hadin over war crimes he and the Palestinian Authority perpetuated during Operation Protective Edge in Gaza, by virtue of the PA's unity pact with Hamas.Preparation of an international meeting in Geneva to officially declare a Palestinian State on 1949 Armistice Line borders.Calls on countries who have not yet recognized the PA-Hamas government as the country "Palestine" to do so. This aspect of the plan follows the recent declaration by three separate Western countries (Sweden, the UK, and Spain) whose parliaments have recognized "Palestine," and ahead of a controversial vote on the issue by a fourth (France).Abbas is indeed moving forward with plans to turn to the Security Council with a resolution setting a deadline for Israel to “end the occupation”, a unilateral move that is in violation of the Oslo Accords. The move has been accompanied by public threats, with Abbas having recently threatened to cut ties with Israel if his latest unilateral move at the UN fails. However, this may be the first time that Abbas has revealed the full extent of his scheme to play the political system in the PA's favor and flaunt his ability to do so regardless of the Oslo Accords and other tenets of international law.Abbas justified this in Cairo Saturday by noting at the end of his speech that, in his opinion, Israel "is no longer a peace partner" and that he intends to internationalize the Palestinian "cause" in accordance with his political action plan.He further said that he demanded that the United States and its Secretary of State John Kerry work together with him to not only pressure Israel to stop “settlement construction" via the UN resolution, but also to schedule the fourth release of Palestinian terrorists, withdraw the IDF from "islands" of Jewish communities in Judea-Samaria, and restart peace talks to legitimize the PA's seizure of land Israel liberated in the Six-Day War.He added that if the Security Council does not approve the draft resolution to be submitted soon about setting a date for the establishment of a Palestinian state, the Palestinians intend to redefine their relations with Israel, and in this context to halt security coordination and transfer the responsibility for control of Judea and Samaria to Israel as "an occupying power."Abbas then took the time to praise the Palestinians who "struggle against the Occupation" - including terrorists, who he praised as "the pure martyrs" and "wounded heroes."
The Arab League applauded Abbas's speech, and declared their support for his agenda at the end of his address.

Arab League Refuses to Recognize Israel as Jewish State-Categorical rejection of 'Jewish state law' from Arab League ahead of controversial vote; support for PA action against Israel in UN, ICC.-More Sharing Services-By Arutz Sheva Staff-First Publish: 11/29/2014, 5:37 PM / Last Update: 11/29/2014, 5:39 PM-ISRAELNATIONALNEWS

The Arab League on Saturday backed Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas's plan to seek UN endorsement for a timetable for declaring an independent state, and rejected recognizing Israel as a Jewish nation, AFP reports Saturday. But the extraordinary meeting of Arab foreign ministers, which Abbas attended, did not announce when they would approach the United Nations Security Council.A statement said the ministers agreed a plan which includes submitting an "Arab proposal to the United Nations Security Council to end the (Israeli) occupation," of Palestinian land.It also backed Palestinian plans to seek membership in UN agencies and international courts. The Arab foreign ministers also announced Saturday their "categorical rejection of recognizing Israel as a Jewish state," the statement said.Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has demanded that Abbas, whose Palestinian Liberation Organization (PLO) recognized Israel in a 1993 accord, affirm the country as a "Jewish state."The debate over Israel's national identity rose again to relevance this month in light of the proposed Jewish State law, which seeks to enshrine in law Israel’s being a Jewish state.A Knesset vote on the bill has been postponed due to vehement opposition to it among coalition members, mostly by Finance Minister Yair Lapid and Justice Minister Tzipi Livni, who has been a vocal opponent of the proposed law.The law has also been condemned by the PLO outright, which said this week that it “is a racist political decision that is built to negate the Palestinian rights and to control the land, and it contradicts international law...and the law institutionalizes racism and discrimination in all fields of life, by implementing (Prime Minister Binyamin) Netanyahu's plan to turn Israel into a country based on racism by law."
