Freak storms bring floods

Towns and villages across the West Midlands were plunged into chaos last night after thunderstorms brought flash floods. Cars were left stranded in Albrighton, Brewood and Cosford as the water reached more than a foot deep in places and at least one person was made homeless by the flooding.

Tropical storms caused torrential rain and flooding in Donnington Lane, Albrighton The main A41 Wolverhampton to Cosford road was turned into a river within minutes. The Met Office today warned people to brace themselves for more rain with thunderstorms expected again tonight.Torrential rain was set to move across southern areas of England this morning, with rains expected to hit the West Midlands in the late afternoon.Shropshire Fire Brigade dispatched officers to Albrighton, Brewood and Wheaton Aston but said the flooding meant there was little they could do.

Dengue fever plagues Mekong
11:55' 06/07/2006 (GMT+7)

VietNamNet – A Dengue fever epidemic has become more widespread in the Mekong River Delta as the number of affected rises throughout the area. Last week, Soc Trang Province had 144 new cases of dengue fever, pushing case numbers over the 2,000
mark.Currently throughout the Mekong Delta there are 13,000 instances of dengue infections, an increase of 2,000 in comparison to the number of cases reported in mid June.So far 14 people from nine provinces in the Delta have died of the disease, with Hau Giang recording a death toll of three people, while Ca Mau and Tien Giang had two deaths each.

Of greatest concern is that this is the rainy season for the region, when mosquito populations are at the highest. In addition, many people still don’t have the knowledge to protect themselves or to identify symptoms of the disease. This is very dangerous for patients as in many cases patients are taken to hospital too late for treatment to be of much benefit.,(Source: SGGP).

REVELATION 8:7
7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
