Storms kill 11 in southwest China 1 hour, 12 minutes ago

BEIJING (Reuters) - Storms in southwest China's Yunnan province have killed 11 people, adding to a trail of havoc from heavy rains lashing parts of the country, state media reported on Monday. In Zhaotong in Yunnan, thousands of villagers have been hit by heavy rains, hail storms, flash floods and landslides since June 20, and troops were called in to rescue and search for survivors, the Xinhua news agency reported. As well as the 11 dead, nine residents were seriously injured and six were still missing on Sunday, Xinhua said.

The deaths in Yunnan are the latest from a string of local but devastating storms and flash floods across south and southwest China that have killed about 200 people since late May.A week ago, flash floods killed 18 with another 18 missing in the central province of Hunan.Storms in the southwestern province of Sichuan last week unleashed floods and mudslides which killed 14, the China Daily reported on Monday.Chinese meteorological authorities have warned people to expect more heavy storms in coming days, the daily said.

President Bush Declares Six NW Ohio Counties Disaster Areas

COLUMBUS (AP) -- President Bush declared a major disaster Sunday in six storm-ravaged counties in northern Ohio, making federal aid available to residents recovering from flooding, tornadoes and straight-line winds. Ohio Governor Bob Taft sought the declaration last week after visiting some of the hardest-hit spots, which he declared were in a state of emergency.I toured some of the areas recently and saw firsthand the severity and the magnitude of the damage, Taft said in a news release issued by his office.

This federal assistance will help Ohio families and businesses as they recover from the disaster and return to their daily lives. The counties eligible for federal aid are Cuyahoga, Erie, Huron, Lucas, Sandusky and Stark.Residents and business owners can begin applying for aid Monday by calling the Federal Emergency Management Agency at (800) 621-3362 or visiting the agency's Web site, http://www.fema.gov.

The storms, which began June 21 and continued into June 23, killed two people, produced several tornadoes and knocked out power to thousands. Rescue diver Al Anderson Jr. drowned while trying to help two teens whose Jeep got caught in rising floodwaters near the village of Wellington, about 40 miles southwest of Cleveland. As the storm passed southwest of Canton, 16-year-old Jordan Stephens was killed when a tree crashed into his tent, authorities said. The water in Norwalk, about halfway between Toledo and Cleveland in Huron County, nearly covered cars and playground equipment in some low-lying areas. Bill Ommert, director of the county's emergency management agency, estimated the damage at about $2 million to homes and businesses and another $5 million to farmers' crops.Posted by AEB

ROMANS 1:25-28
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie,
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.(Aids,VDS ETC).
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

100,000 Signatures Against Homosexual Parade in Jerusalem
By Hillel Fendel(Arutz-7 News)

Over 100,000 people have signed a petition against the large gay-pride parade scheduled in Jerusalem next month. The petition is being organized by Jerusalem City Council member Mina Fenton (NRP). The petition states that the "holding of such a parade in Jerusalem, of all places, is a great blow at the ages-old Jewish character of the city and its holy values, for the Jewish and non-Jewish public in Israel and around the world. To hold it in Jerusalem is a provocation and a declared mockery of all that is precious and sacred in the Holy city of Jerusalem in the eyes of the entire world.I have received positive feedback from all over the world, Fenton said, as well as within Israel... We are sure that these first 100,000 signatures will clarify to the Supreme Court the majority opinion, as well as the dangers and degradation involved in holding the parade. I call upon every citizen in Israel and abroad to help out in gathering signatures and to do whatever is necessary to reach the ultimate goal, which is the cancellation of the parade.

Rabbi Yehuda Levin, of the New York-based Jews for Morality organization (JewsforMorality.org.), is now in Israel - for the sixth time of late - solely to fight against the parade. He says that he has been hearing talk of a compromise, which worries him greatly. If they think that we will be silent if the parade is moved from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv," he told IsraelNationalRadio's Tamar Yonah, they
do not understand our entire struggle. The Holy Land in its entirety must not be defiled; the basis for our continued presence in this land is that it remain pure.Rabbi Levin also said that the newly appointed mufti of Jerusalem, as well as other leading Moslem clerics, has shown great support for his cause.

The international gay event is scheduled to be a week-long affair, featuring visits all over Israel, including planting a tree in Pride Forest and a meeting with like-minded individuals in Kibbutz Tuval in the Galilee; Tzfat; the ancient synagogue at Katzrin; night-life in Tel Aviv; and more. In Jerusalem, the participants will be welcomed in a ceremony with members of the Jerusalem Open House, the hosts of World Pride. The internet site states the group will tour the Old City, including King David's Tomb, the room of the Last Supper, the Western Wall, the Jewish Quarter, and more.

The organization has also scheduled a tour of the Knesset, which several MKs have asked to cancel. The event is billed on the World Pride internet site as Bringing Order to the Knesset: National and International Summit Meeting for Youth. The promotional literature states, Youth on the map! After this day, it will be impossible to ignore us.

Everyone will understand and remember for a long, long time that the proud [Hebrew gaieh] youth has what to be proud of... Ages 15-25 - boys, girls, lesbian, homo, trans, bi,those who are hesitating, and friends - come to take part in this exciting youth day, a joint production of the Open House and the Israeli Gay Youth Organization, which will be held in the Knesset... Two-way transportation from all over the country... We will meet lots of pals from all over Israel and the world, and we'll sit together to work out important subject that are very relevant to our daily lives as students, soldiers... youth with ideals and values. After lunch, we will meet with elected representatives of all stripes, and we will present them with our I Believe' about the life of gaieh youth in Israel.

And at the end of the day: 'Good Jerusalem Children'the greatest youth party in Israel. MK Otniel Shneller (Kadima), as well as several MKs from the National Union/National Religious Party, have asked Knesset Speaker Dalia Itzik to cancel the event. Shneller said he supports "teaching towards democracy and liberalism, but a visit like this will turn the legislature into Sodom and Gomorra.

MK Eli Gabbai (NRP) told Arutz-7, "Our original plan was to try to legislate a law that would allow a municipality to ban a parade for various reasons. But then we realized that the Supreme Court might disallow such a law because of civil rights considerations. So we are now turning once again to the municipality and the police, because all three religions agree that this parade should not be held in Jerusalem, and it could easily become a danger to the public welfare, in this special city that is recognized as such by the whole world.

Yes this will continue Islam will rise ,Christianity will fall because the Bible says beheading will be a common occurance. During the 7 yr tribulation if you get saved and do not accept the Murderous system of the World Politician you will be beheaded for your Faith and Testimony in Christ.

REVELATION 20:4
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

In Europe, Islam rises, Christianity falls
Muslims may soon become majority,July 2, 2006

PARIS -- Al Fath Mosque is in a scruffy immigrant neighborhood not far from the neon-lit kitsch of the Pigalle district. On Friday afternoons, the mosque is jammed, and the overflow of worshippers spills into the streets.Tourists who stumble on the scene reflexively reach for their cameras, struck by this unusual public manifestation of religiosity in a country where Christian belief has become passi.

In France and in almost every other European country, Christianity appears to be in a free fall. Although up to 88% of the French identify themselves as Catholic, only about 5% go to church on most Sundays; 60% say they never or practically never go.

But Islam is a thriving force. The 12 million to 15 million Muslims who live in Europe make up less than 5% of the total population, but the vitality of their faith has led some experts to predict that Islam will become the continent's dominant faith.Princeton University historian Bernard Lewis, the dean of American Middle East scholars, flatly predicts that Europe will be Muslim by the end of this century.

George Weigel, a leading American theologian, frets about a Europe in which the muezzin summons the faithful to prayer from the central loggia of St. Peter's in Rome, while Notre Dame has been transformed into Hagia Sophia on the Seine -- a great Christian church will become an Islamic museum.Lewis and Weigel represent a trend among American thinkers who say they fear Europe's doom if it does not re-Christianize, and soon.

Most European experts believe those fears are exaggerated.France, with Europe's largest Muslim population, surely will be a test case.

A church in crisis

Little argument exists about the severity of the crisis facing the Catholic Church in France. In contrast with the vigorous (and masculine) face that French Muslims present to the world, a typical Sunday mass almost anywhere in France will feature an elderly priest preaching to a dwindling congregation of mostly elderly women.Mass is boring, said Odon Vallet, a religion professor at the Sorbonne. The ceremony isn't very beautiful; the music is bad; the sermon is uninteresting. Mass is for people who have nothing else to do on a Sunday -- no sports, no hobbies, no shopping, no entertainment.Islam is France's fastest-growing religion.

But this is mainly a result of immigration patterns, not conversions. Most of the 4.5 million Muslims who make up about 7% of the French population are immigrants or the descendants of immigrants from former French colonies in north Africa and sub-Saharan Africa.

Global Islam is eager for converts. But in Europe, the situation is nuanced. According to Olivier Roy, a leading French scholar on Islam, Muslims in Europe would be happy for Christians to convert, while Christians merely want Muslims to become more secular. While President George W. Bush proudly declares America "a nation of prayer,French President Jacques Chirac praises the virtues of French secularism. France developed a distinctly French notion of church-state separation more than a century ago in an attempt to curb the influence of the Catholic Church. Known as laicite, it allows all faiths equal status and ensures that all are equally divorced from the functions of the state.Bruno Bourg-Broc, a deputy in the National Assembly and self-described committed Catholic, laments the erosion of the faith in France.

We are a fundamentally Christian society, he said. The landscape is formed of churches. It's part of our culture, our literature and painting. Whether people want it in the constitution or not, we were formed in this way and should not be ashamed of it.The doctrine of Islam is to conquer and convert, and we must keep this in mind. I don't think there is a real risk here, but if it happens, it will be our own fault.

Hope for the future

Last year, when Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger was elected pope and took the name Benedict, the patron saint of Europe, it was seen as a sign that he would refocus the church's energies on rebuilding the faith in Europe. The Vatican was heartened when a million young people turned out last August for World Youth Day in Cologne, Germany, and heard the new pope urge them to rediscover Europe's Christian roots. Some experts also are encouraged on Christianity's behalf if only because things can't get much worse. If you are the type of person who buys stocks and bonds, I'd buy Christianity, said Vallet of Sorbonne. The price now is very low, so I think it has to go up.Other analysts believe Europe's future is neither Christianity nor Islam, but secularism. A pragmatic reading of the numbers suggests that not only will Christianity never regain its dominant cultural role but also that churchgoers will be forced to recast themselves as minorities or subcultures.Who truly thinks that Benedict XVI is the future of Europe? said Roy, the Islamic scholar.
