Temple Mount activist Rabbi Yehuda Glick talks peace in Istanbul with a state official and on A9TV with Islamic scholar Adnan Oktar.-By: Hana Levi Julian-Published: July 5th, 2015-jewishpress
While Palestinian Authority Arabs have been working hard to keep Jews and others off the Temple Mount with violence and riots, a U.S.-born Israeli rabbi and Israeli Druze Likud member have just returned from a trip abroad to discuss peaceful co-existence.Temple Mount activist and Heritage Foundation head Rabbi Yehudah Glick traveled to Turkey last week to talk about peace. Glick, who traveled to Istanbul with Likud party Druze member Mendi Safadi, met for discussions with Islamic officials and those of several other faiths. The two men were hosted by Islamic scholar and peace activist Adnan Oktar, who has long been the quiet “matchmaker” for numerous other such meetings with other Jewish and non-Jewish officials.Among others, Glick and Safadi met with state official Aydin Yigman, Mufti of the Beyoglu District on the European side in Istanbul. During their conversation, Yigman firmly condemned the assassination attempt that nearly cost Glick his life after a speaking engagement in Jerusalem last year.“Any religion would condemn this attack,” the mufti stated. “It’s unacceptable.”Local sources told JewishPress.com the conversation between Glick and the mufti was “very friendly” and described the atmosphere as “cordial.” Glick’s views on peace, particularly important during Ramadan in an Islamic nation whose bond with Israel has faltered in recent years, were “well received,” the source said. The two Israelis also joined Oktar and others at a large festive Iftar meal to break the daily Ramadan fast on Thursday evening, held annually by Turkey’s A9TV, which is owned by Oktar’s organization. In addition to Islamic clerics and adherents, other participants included representatives from the Protestant, Assyrian, Armenian and Mormon churches as well as politicians, artists, academics and sports figures from Turkey.Rabbi Yehuda Glick and Likud member Mendi Safadi, an Israeli Druze citizen, join two associates of their host, Islamic scholar and peace activist Adnan Oktar in Istanbul prior to an Iftar meal to break the daily Ramadan fast.Rabbi Yehuda Glick and Likud member Mendi Safadi, an Israeli Druze citizen, join two associates of their host, Islamic scholar and peace activist Adnan Oktar in Istanbul prior to an Iftar meal to break the daily Ramadan fast.In an interview with Glick on A9TV earlier in the week, Oktar recounted for his viewers in Turkish the tale of Glick’s brush with death last October and his miraculous survival, describing his role in fighting for Jewish access to the Temple Mount.(The entire interview with English-language subtitles may be accessed by clicking here.)-During the interview, Glick remarked in English, “The worst thing about terrorism and violence is when people do it in the name of God… This makes it ten times worse… In a civilized society when two people are arguing and one gets up and beats the other one up, it does not mean he is right. It means he needs help and this help is calling to God’s name peace, Islam, Shalom – this is God’s name.“They tried to kill me because I represent the people of Israel coming to Israel,” Glick added. “And this they tried to harm. And the situation today is, I am alive and he (the assassin) is dead. So we have to thank God for this.”In response, Oktar commented, “It is the most despicable, lowest, outrageous thing to shoot a person who works for God’s pleasure all the time…“According to Islam [R. Glick] is a person of the People of the Book and he is a very religious person… insha’Allah (God willing), God will show this beautiful person the King Moshiach – in other words, the Mahdi (Messiah) – and we will rebuild the masjid (ed. – mosque) of the Prophet Solomon, pbuh (peace be upon him), and the palace of Prophet Solmon, pbuh, and God will show him very beautiful days.About the Author: Hana Levi Julian is a Middle East news analyst with a degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from Southern Connecticut State University. Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation with his guest Rabbi Yehuda Glick (Jun 30th, 2015)
Bülent Sezgin: We are continuing to our program with our guest.Adnan Oktar: Our guest. We are so honored and thrilled to have you here. Oktar Babuna: Tonight our guest is Rabbi Yehuda Glick. Rabbi Yehuda Glick is director of the Initiative for Jewish Freedom on the Temple Mount. He says that Dome of the Rock should be "a House of Prayer for all nations" as stated in the Torah and that the members of the three Abrahamic religions can pray to God together. As known, Rabbi Glick survived an assassination attempt, when an Islamic Jihad Movement member shot him four times. Rabbi Glick was nominated as parliament member this year by Likud Party and he is currently an active member of this party.Adnan Oktar: Masha'Allah, welcome, thank you very much for coming here. You honored us, made us very happy.Rabbi Glick: All the honor for Him (God).Adnan Oktar: Masha'Allah. It is so great that you are this pious.Rabbi Glick: When God hugs you and gives you a kiss and says "I love you so much," how can we not be sincere to God? Adnan Oktar: Masha'Allah. It is amazing that you are so pious. The assassination attempt on you is the most despicable, most wretched, outrageous and heartless thing. We strongly condemn it. Insha’Allah, those people will never even imagine doing something so horrible again to anyone else. This is not something a normal Muslim with a normal morality would do. It is completely insane; it is completely immoral. There is no other explanation for it.Because you are a very good person; you fear God, you love God. You want everyone to live in peace. You have great moral values, and it is so outrageous and so infuriating that they tried to hurt you like this.If anyone tries to raise their hands to you again, we will break those hands completely by using legal means.Rabbi Glick: I thank you very very much for this approach which you've been again and again repeating that you are determined to talk in the name of God against violence. The worst thing about terrorism and violence is when people do it in the name of God, this makes it ten times worse. If somebody is a violent person, it usually means he is weak. Violence is not the symbol of strength; it is the symbol of weakness.Adnan Oktar: Yes.Rabbi Glick: But when somebody does it in the name of God and we know that God is eternal life. He can’t be for killing, He is for living then this is what is so painful. I think people who are faithful in God must talk strongly against this kind of behavior.Adnan Oktar: God entrusted you to us. You stand for peace, brotherhood, love, friendship, goodness and faith in God. And as far as I can see, those people are jealous of your faith.Rabbi Glick: This may be true. We have to remember we do not have the privilege to give up, we must continue. In a civilized society when two people are arguing and one gets up and beats the other one up, it does not mean he is right. It means he needs help and the help they need is calling to God's name peace, Islam, Shalom, this is God’s name.Adnan Oktar: Insha’Allah, you and us, we will all see it. We will re-build the prayer house of the Prophet Solomon and the palace of Prophet Solomon. We will make sure that those places go back to their historical, glorious days.Rabbi Glick: Yes, we have to touch the hearts of the people first. We have to touch the hearts of the mankind. It is not only building the building, it's building the hearts. I think what Mr. Oktar is doing every single day is calling people that God is not the God of evil, God is a God of mercy. This is so important because we have to prepare mankind to these special days. Adnan Oktar: We love you so much. We've always said it here, and we repeatedly condemned that assassination attempt on you. We were very angered and very much disturbed by that. We've always expressed that we see this very appalling and outrageous. But of course this doesn't change anything, you gained so much good deeds in the sight of God, and those who hurt you, they will pay for it in the hereafter.May God give you a long life. Rabbi Glick: It is interesting we can’t choose our ways but He knows better than us and He uses sometimes these terrible things to promote good things. I want to point one more thing. Damage these people are doing in the name of Islam is not a damage to us, it’s mostly a damage to Islam because we know that the Qur'an talks about the Jewish people as the People of the Book, People of the Holy Land. These people were talking in the name of Islam, they are causing damage firstly for the Islam.Adnan Oktar: Of course, [because by doing that] they are actually attacking Islam and the Quran. You see them [devout Muslims] as B'nei Noah. Those ignorant people don't know about these facts.Masha'Allah, we will see very bright days Insha'Allah. We will see very beautiful days Insha'Allah. We will see King Moshiach. We will see that in that whole region, the children of Prophet Abraham will hug each other.Rabbi Glick: We see it all the time.Adnan Oktar: We are living in that age, in that era, Insha’Allah. This is what Torah tells us, what the hadiths tell us.God allowed you to survive, because you have a duty.Rabbi Glick: Yes, sometimes, God forbid, when somebody dies young, we say his mission is over. This means if somebody stays alive his mission is not over.Adnan Oktar: Your mission continues. You will see King Moshiach, we will see the prayer house of the Prophet Solomon all together. And we will worship all together there, Insha'Allah.Rabbi Glick: I feel that. The more we have obstacles; it means we have to double effort. We have to show God we are determined and show that "yes, we want this to happen." We are willing to overcome the obstacles.Adnan Oktar: Yes, Insha'Allah. We are in that beautiful period.Rabbi Glick: Sometimes when people tell me why do you go, connect to Mr. Oktar, why do you do that? I say [to them] that Mr. Oktar also, the fact that people have enemies or trying to stop him, it means that you are doing something very important.Adnan Oktar: Masha'Allah, it's because they are jealous. They are people, who don't know anything about love.Rabbi Glick: We have to love these people also.Adnan Oktar: Of course, we will teach them. Rabbi Glick: If we hug them and show them that God loves them.Adnan Oktar: Masha'Allah, I am very surprised, and shocked that they could do this horrible thing to you, although they see that you are this amazing person with this incredible morality.Rabbi Glick: They did not do it to me, they did not try to kill me because they did not like the color of my hair. They did not try to kill me because they did not like my name. They tried to kill me because I represent the people of Israel coming to Jerusalem. And with this they tried to harm. And the situation today is that I am alive. So we have to thank God for this. The most important thing now, especially during the days of the Ramadan, which is a day for Muslims that they think what they are doing is to get closer to God. Some people think that these are days to add terror. No, these are days to be sincere to God, to add peace to the world because God's name is peace.Adnan Oktar: Masha'Allah.Rabbi Glick: God's name is Shalom, God's name is Ahad (One). Qul Huw-Allahu Ahad, Allah-us-Samad, Lam yalid wa lam yulad, Wa lam yakul lahu kufuwan ahad. (Surat al-Ikhlas) God is One. God is One, the kind of One which makes it Shalom. He is like one big mosaic of everything. Adnan Oktar: Those loveless people are affected by these beautiful words of yours. Insha’Allah, after a while, they will also correct their ways. Masha’Allah, we love you so much. Everyone loves you so much in Israel. And the love for you has increased even more after this incident.Rabbi Glick: I feel it, I feel it.Adnan Oktar: We see you like a hero.Rabbi Glick: I’m not hero, He (God) is the hero. I did not do anything. He did many many miracles. It is impossible to understand how four bullets in the heart, in the center of the body, from zero distance point blank and I survived and stayed alive because of the prayers. So I am here to say thank you for all the prayers and all the wonderful words you wrote about God and my mission.I want to take the opportunity, to take the advantage of who watches this program all over the world, millions of people were praying. I thank you in the name of my faith and in the name of God. Thank you so much for your prayers because these prayers shook up the heaven. God listens to prayers.Adnan Oktar: His devoutness is so beautiful, isn't it? Masha'Allah.I told you before, Jewish people are very religious. The bigots are usually not this devout. They don't really love God very much. But Jewish people are very pious. For example, while they are eating a fruit, they do so by praying to God. As they step outside, they do so by praying to God. Do you see how his heart is always in connection with God? It is perfect masha’Allah. Rabbi Glick: Torah begins with the word "in the beginning God created heaven and the earth." And I think this is the big news of the Torah. It is not God in heaven, and that we are in the earth. God created the earth and the heaven and this is all one. And there is shalom, peace between the heaven and the earth. Our job is putting God’s name in every single step on the earth.Adnan Oktar: Masha'Allah.Torah teaches us that there is a connection between the heaven and the earth.Rabbi Glick: God can make miracles from heaven. He can come and He can create whatever He wants. But He wants us to do it. He gave us freedom of choice that we should improve everything. He did not create bread, He created wheat so that we should work and make the bread. He wants us to actually make the effort and overcome the obstacles and improve this world to make it a godly world.Adnan Oktar: It is the most despicable, lowest, outrageous thing to shoot a person who works for God's pleasure all the time. See how horrid they are… See how wretched that person was. He must have been a lunatic, a maniac; there can be no other explanation for it.Sadun: Turns out, he [perpetrator] apologized before he shot him and said that he was sorry but his religion ordered him to shoot him.Adnan Oktar: He is lying, that liar. According to Islam, he [Rabbi Glick] is a person of People of the Book and he is a very religious person. He is always talking about love, the Qur'an, always quotes from the Qur'an, and the Torah. You sick person. Wasn't there anything better to do? Where does it come from? Shooting a person. Wretched person. And he dares claiming to be a mujaheed, a Muslim. A person who is a Muslim cannot do this.Anyway, it was in the destiny, so it happened. But insha'Allah, God will show this beautiful person, Mr. Yehuda, the King Moschiah, [in other words] the Mahdi, and that we will rebuild the prayer house of the Prophet Solomon and the palace of Prophet Solomon and God will show him very beautiful days. That is why God gave him more life, masha'Allah.Glick: Thank you very very much but it is not me, who is the issue, whether I will see it or my children will see it, we want God’s Presence to dwell among us. We want Him, His divine Presence to dwell in Jerusalem. Jerusalem is two words; Ir Shalom city of peace, city of Shalom. Adnan Oktar: Insha'Allah. Now let's give a short break and we'll continue.Rabbi Glick: Even Solomon’s name comes from the word Shalom.Adnan Oktar: Masha'Allah.http://en.a9.com.tr/watch/205499/Harun-Yahyas-Interviews-and-Conversations/Mr-Adnan-Oktars-Live-Conversation-with-his-guest-Rabbi-Yehuda-Glick-%28Jun-30th-2015%29
