8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.

Dear Ayatollah Khamenei –
We are hearing reports that you may be in poor health. I hope this is not true, but either way I want you to know that I am praying for the God of the Bible to heal and comfort you. I am also praying that God will open your eyes and grant you repentance that you may receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord and have eternal life. In addition, I am asking Christians around the world to pray for you, as well.
Allow me to take a moment to share with you two very important truths, that I recently shared via Twitter with President Rouhani, whom I am also praying for:
First, the Bible makes clear that God loves all the people of the world, including the people of Iran.
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob loves Persians. Jesus Christ loves you. He loves all Muslims. He wants to forgive you and your people and save you and adopt you and your family into His family to be His children and to go to heaven forever and ever.The Lord Jesus Christ said, “For God so loves the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).Anyone who truly repents and receives Christ by faith as Savior and Lord will be saved. “But as many as received Him [Christ], to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” (John 1:12) This is the Gospel, the good news.
Second, the Bible also warns that judgment is coming to the Iranian regime in the last days.
Speaking of “Elam,” an ancient name for the nation we know today as Iran, the prophet Jeremiah wrote: “That which came as the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying: ’Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Behold, I am going to break the bow of Elam, the finest of their might. I will bring upon Elam the four winds from the four ends of heaven, and will scatter them to all these winds; and there will be no nation to which the outcasts of Elam will not go. So I will shatter Elam before their enemies and before those who seek their lives; and I will bring calamity upon them, even My fierce anger,” declares the Lord, “And I will send out the sword after them Until I have consumed them. Then I will set My throne in Elam and destroy out of it king and princes,” declares the Lord. “But it will come about in the last days that I will restore the fortunes of Elam,” declares the Lord.’” (Jeremiah 49:34-39)
The prophet tells us that there is coming a day when the Lord will have “fierce anger” against “the king and princes” of Iran and “will bring calamity upon them.”When will this judgment come? I cannot say for certain.
But in the name of Jesus Christ, I urge you to take these and all the Scriptures to heart. I implore you embrace God’s love, repent of your sins, and receive Christ as Savior and Lord by faith.More Iranians have left Islam and come to faith in Christ since 1979 than at any time in the last 14 centuries. More than one million Iranian Muslims have become Christians in the last three decades.I pray that you will become one of them. Time may be short. Do not delay.“Behold, now is ‘the acceptable time,’ behold, now is ‘the Day of Salvation,’” says the Bible. (2 Corinthians 6:2)I recently gave an address explaining God’s love for the people of Iran, and explaining the prophecy of Jeremiah 49 concerning the people of Elam (Iran). My prayer is that you will take time to listen to it to understand the prophecy and its implications more fully.

Dear Ayatollah Khamenei, Jesus Christ loves you. But judgment is coming, the Bible warns in Jeremiah 49:34-39. Let me explain.

Dear Ayatollah Khamenei –We are hearing reports that you may be in poor health. I hope this is not true, but either way I want you to know that I am praying for the God of the Bible to heal and comfort you. I am also praying that God will open your eyes and grant you repentance that you may receive Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord and have eternal life. In addition, I am asking Christians around the world to pray for you, as well.
Allow me to take a moment to share with you two very important truths, that I recently shared via Twitter with President Rouhani, whom I am also praying for:
First, the Bible makes clear that God loves all the people of the world, including the people of Iran.
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob loves Persians. Jesus Christ loves you. He loves all Muslims. He wants to forgive you and your people and save you and adopt you and your family into His family to be His children and to go to heaven forever and ever.The Lord Jesus Christ said, “For God so loves the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16).Anyone who truly repents and receives Christ by faith as Savior and Lord will be saved. “But as many as received Him [Christ], to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name.” (John 1:12) This is the Gospel, the good news.
Second, the Bible also warns that judgment is coming to the Iranian regime in the last days.
Speaking of “Elam,” an ancient name for the nation we know today as Iran, the prophet Jeremiah wrote: “That which came as the word of the Lord to Jeremiah the prophet concerning Elam, at the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, saying: ’Thus says the Lord of hosts, “Behold, I am going to break the bow of Elam, the finest of their might. I will bring upon Elam the four winds from the four ends of heaven, and will scatter them to all these winds; and there will be no nation to which the outcasts of Elam will not go. So I will shatter Elam before their enemies and before those who seek their lives; and I will bring calamity upon them, even My fierce anger,” declares the Lord, “And I will send out the sword after them Until I have consumed them. Then I will set My throne in Elam and destroy out of it king and princes,” declares the Lord. “But it will come about in the last days that I will restore the fortunes of Elam,” declares the Lord.’” (Jeremiah 49:34-39)
The prophet tells us that there is coming a day when the Lord will have “fierce anger” against “the king and princes” of Iran and “will bring calamity upon them.”When will this judgment come? I cannot say for certain.
But in the name of Jesus Christ, I urge you to take these and all the Scriptures to heart. I implore you embrace God’s love, repent of your sins, and receive Christ as Savior and Lord by faith.More Iranians have left Islam and come to faith in Christ since 1979 than at any time in the last 14 centuries. More than one million Iranian Muslims have become Christians in the last three decades.I pray that you will become one of them. Time may be short. Do not delay.“Behold, now is ‘the acceptable time,’ behold, now is ‘the Day of Salvation,’” says the Bible. (2 Corinthians 6:2)I recently gave an address explaining God’s love for the people of Iran, and explaining the prophecy of Jeremiah 49 concerning the people of Elam (Iran). My prayer is that you will take time to listen to it to understand the prophecy and its implications more fully.

Ali Khamenei called Israel “a bastard regime” Sunday, while expressing
skepticism over the current round of international talks on Iran’s
nuclear program.His
words came two days before Iran and six world powers are set to resume
talks on curbing uranium enrichment, with hopes for a rare breakthrough
after years of no progress.“The Zionist regime is an illegitimate and
bastard regime,” Khamenei said via his website, according to an AFP
report. He added that the Americans “have to” have the “highest
indulgence towards the Zionists,” but Iran does not “share such
indulgence.”Iran and world powers are to start a two-day
meeting on Thursday in Geneva about Tehran’s nuclear program. The West
suspects Iran is developing weapons technology. Iran denies it, saying
its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes.
The negotiators “are on a difficult mission
and nobody should weaken those who are on assignment,” the official IRNA
news agency quoted Khamenei as saying, in a show of support for
President Hassan Rouhani’s policy of outreach to the West.Khamenei has final say on all matters of
state, but has seemingly given Rouhani and his cabinet a free hand to

Egypt’s military chief Gen. Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi laid out following the
military coup indicate that “we are all pursuing a resumption of normal
relations.”The roadmap includes amending the
Islamist-tilted constitution adopted under Morsi last year, holding a
national referendum before the end of the year and parliamentary and
presidential elections by the spring of 2014.The State Department apparently expected a
frosty reception for Kerry, especially with tensions running high on the
eve of Monday’s scheduled start of Morsi’s trial on charges of inciting
murder. The department refused to confirm Kerry’s visit until he landed
in Cairo, even though Egypt’s official news agency reported the
impending trip three days earlier.The secrecy was unprecedented for a secretary
of state’s travel to Egypt, for decades one of the closest US allies in
the Arab world, and highlighted the deep rifts today between Washington
and Cairo.Kerry last was in Egypt in March, when he
urged Morsi and his Muslim Brotherhood-backed government to enact
sweeping economic reforms and govern in a more inclusive manner. Those
calls went unheeded. Simmering public unhappiness with his rule boiled
over when the powerful Egyptian military deposed Morsi on July 3 and
established an interim government.The Obama administration was caught in a bind
over whether to condemn the ouster as a coup and cut the annual $1.3
billion in US military assistance that such a determination would
legally require.The US waffled for months before deciding last
month to suspend most big-ticket military aid such as tanks,
helicopters and fighter jets, while declining to make a coup
determination. The US also is withholding $260 million in budget support
to the government.Egypt is receiving billions of dollars in aid
from wealthy Gulf Arab states such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab
Emirates. But Egyptian authorities reacted angrily to the US aid
suspension, declaring it a new low point in ties that have been strained
since the popular revolt that unseated authoritarian leader Hosni
Mubarak in February 2011.Egypt’s foreign minister, Nabil Fahmy, said
last month that US-Egyptian relations were in “turmoil” and warned that
the strain could affect the entire Middle East.
With US influence ebbing, Kerry’s message
about the importance of economic and constitutional reforms was expected
to be met with suspicion, if not outright hostility, by Egyptian
leaders and a population deeply mistrustful of Washington’s motives.
Many Egyptians accuse the Obama administration of taking sides in their
domestic political turmoil; American officials adamantly deny it.Kerry began his Cairo day stop with a meeting
with Fahmy. Later he is to see el-Sissi; the interim president, Adly
Mansour, and civic leaders. Kerry intended to underscore the necessity
of democratic transition through a transparent and inclusive
constitutional process, and free and fair parliamentary and presidential
elections.Only once progress is made on those, American
officials say, will the US consider restoring the suspended aid. They
say Kerry is eager to assure Egyptians that the US considers Egypt an
important friend and bulwark of regional stability, notably because of
its peace treaty with Israel.An initial administration attempt at outreach
to post-Morsi Egypt — providing $60 million to spur private investment
in Egypt’s flailing economy — has been held up in Congress.
US officials traveling with Kerry said he also
would stress the importance of human rights, particularly freedom of
the press and assembly, and the role of civil society in ensuring a
pluralistic society.Kerry’s visit comes at a critical time in Egypt’s tense and fractured domestic political situation.On Friday, a private Egyptian television
station halted the airing of the latest episode of a widely popular
political satire program after it came under fire for mocking the
ultranationalist, pro-military fervor gripping the country. The show’s
host, Bassem Youssef, is often compared to US comedian Jon Stewart. The
broadcaster said Youssef and his producer violated its editorial
policies.Also, Morsi’s trial was set to begin Monday, a day after Kerry’s scheduled departure.Morsi supporters planned widespread protests
on the day of the trial. Security concerns were so high that the venue
for the trial was not yet formally announced. It was expected to be held
in a heavily secured police academy in Cairo.US officials said the timing of the trial and
Kerry’s visit were purely coincidental, but that Kerry was likely to
impress on his hosts the importance of due process and transparency in
all judicial proceedings.Egypt was Kerry’s first stop on a nine-day
tour of the Middle East and Europe. The trip is widely seen as a damage
control mission to ease disagreements between the US and its friends
over Syria, Iran and the revelations of widespread US surveillance
activities around the globe.
From Egypt, Kerry planned to travel to Saudi
Arabia, Poland, Israel, the Palestinian Authority, Jordan, the United
Arab Emirates, Algeria and Morocco.

US spies shared information
garnered through eavesdropping with Jerusalem, but also secretly tracked
Israeli military actions, new papers on the breadth of Washington’s
intelligence gathering activities revealed Sunday morning.The documents from Washington’s National Security Agency, leaked to the Guardian by whistleblower Edward Snowden and published in The New York Times, reveal how American agents have spied on leaders from Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon.And for the first time, the papers also reveal
that Israel, along with nearly every other country on the planet, has
been the target of NSA spying.According to the papers, thousands of which
were leaked by Snowden, the NSA has tracked “high priority Israeli
military targets.”These include unmanned aerial vehicles and the Black Sparrow missile system, a ballistic missile used as target practice for the Arrow missile-defense system.Energy and Water Resources Minister Silvan
Shalom told Israel Radio he was not surprised to hear that the US had
been spying on Israel, and that defense officials knew as well. He said
he was warned not to discuss sensitive matters on the phone when he
became a minister, under the assumption that his calls were being
listened to.
In late October, former Mossad head Danny Yatom told the Maariv daily the US had spied on Israel in the past.“I can tell you with certain knowledge that
[America] has been listening in on its allies, including Israel,” Yatom
said, and “not necessarily in [Benjamin] Netanyahu’s tenure” as prime
minister.The NSA documents also confirm that the US
shared intelligence information with Israel’s signal intelligence unit,
known as Unit 8200, which received raw materials from the Americans.The Guardian had originally reported on this revelation in early September, also based on documents leaked by Snowden.“Raw Sigint includes, but is not limited to,
unevaluated and unminimized transcripts, gists, facsimiles, telex, voice
and Digital Network Intelligence metadata and content,” the British
paper quoted a 2009 memorandum of understanding between Israel and the
US reading.An NSA document leaked by Snowden in late August listed Israel as one of several “priority targets,” including Cuba, China, Russia and Iran.Revelations over NSA spying have served to
strain relations with the US and allies around the world, especially
amid revelations that leaders’ phones were tapped, along with those of
millions of foreign citizens.US President Barack Obama and Secretary of
State John Kerry, who arrives in the region on Sunday, have been trying
to quell international anger over disclosures of classified
information by former National Security Agency contractor Snowden.
Longer term, Snowden’s revelations about NSA tactics — that allegedly
include tapping up to 35 world leaders’ cellphones — threaten to
undermine US foreign policy in a host of areas.Spying among allies is not new. Madeleine
Albright, secretary of state during the Clinton administration, recently
recalled being at the United Nations and having the French ambassador
ask her why she said something in a private conversation that the French
had apparently intercepted. The French government protested revelations
this week that the NSA had collected 70.3 million French-based
telephone and electronic message records in a 30-day period.

Israel conveyed a series of
bitter protests to the White House and to others in the US
administration over the weekend over the Obama administration’s
confirmation that it was the Israeli Air Force that struck a military
base near the Syrian port city of Latakia last Wednesday.Israel
has not acknowledged carrying out the strike, one of half a dozen such
attacks widely ascribed to Israel in recent months, but an Obama administration official told CNN on
Thursday that Israeli warplanes had indeed attacked the Syrian base,
and that the target was “missiles and related equipment” set for
delivery to Hezbollah in Lebanon.This US confirmation, which was not the first
case of the administration leaking word of Israeli strikes in Syria,
risked causing a flare-up that could “endanger the security of Israel
and the region as a whole,” Israel claimed in its protest messages to
the US according to a report in the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper on
Sunday.Israel’s fury was conveyed directly to the
White House, as well as during meetings and conversations between senior
Israeli officials and their US counterparts in the Pentagon, the CIA
and the State Department, the report said.Israel’s shocked complaints produced no
American explanation or reaction whatsoever, the report went on, which
Israeli officials ascribe to embarrassment on behalf of the
administration. Israel believes the leaks may be “a consequence of
negligence.”Jerusalem was said to be baffled as to why the
Americans would repeatedly leak word of Israeli raids in Syria, when
there were all manner of back channels by which the US could convey
concern over such strikes if it wanted to do so. In fact, as far as
Israel is aware, the report said, “the United States does not have
complaints about such Israeli activities.”Israeli officials stressed that Israel was still not confirming responsibility for the strike last Wednesday.Israel’s Channel 10 TV on Friday night quoted
Israeli officials branding the American leak as “scandalous.” For
Israel’s ally to act in such a way was “unthinkable,” the officials were
quoted as saying.A second TV report, on Israel’s Channel 2,
said the leak “came directly from the White House,” and noted that “this
is not the first time” that the administration has compromised Israel
by leaking information on such Israeli Air Force raids on Syrian
targets.It said some previous leaks were believed to
have come from the Pentagon, and that consideration had been given at
one point to establishing a panel to investigate the sources, but that
Thursday’s leak had come directly from the White House.Channel 2′s military analyst, Roni Daniel, said the Obama administration’s behavior in leaking the information was unfathomable.Daniel noted that by keeping silent on whether
it carried out such attacks, Israel was maintaining plausible
deniability, so that Syria’s President Bashar Assad did not feel
pressured to respond to the attacks.But the US leaks “are pushing Assad closer to
the point where he can’t swallow these attacks, and will respond.” This
in turn would inevitably draw further Israeli action, Daniel posited,
and added bitterly: “Then perhaps the US will clap its hands because it
will have started a very major flare-up.”

Channel 2 speculated that the US might have
leaked word of Israel’s attack as a warning to Israel to desist from
such actions. Alternately, it might be seeking to signal that it was
part of the tough policy designed to prevent a flow of sophisticated
weaponry to Assad. But these and other possible explanations simply
didn’t justify the leak, which the TV report described as “illogical”
and “foolish.”Jerusalem’s reported anger with the White
House over the leak coincided with efforts by the administration to
assure Israel that it is holding to a tough line on Syria and in the
effort to thwart Iran’s nuclear program, and is maintaining its robust
military partnership with Israel.On Thursday, the US ambassador to the United
Nations, Samantha Power, reiterated America’s commitment to thwarting
Iranian nuclear weapons ambitions.“Let me be
absolutely clear: President Obama is determined to ensure that the
Islamic Republic does not acquire a nuclear weapon,” Power said at the
Anti-Defamation League’s centennial conference held Thursday in a
Manhattan hotel. Addressing the subject of nuclear negotiations
with Iran, she said the Obama administration considers a bad deal worse
than no deal and that the administration will not accept a bad deal.Later Thursday, Secretary of Defense Chuck
Hagel told the same gathering that the US is testing Iran’s diplomatic
intentions but remains “clear-eyed” on Iran’s role as a state sponsor of
terror and exporter of extremism.Hagel also announced that the US will
fast-track delivery of six advanced Osprey helicopter-airplanes to
Israel. “Israel will get six V-22s out of the next order to go on the
assembly line, and they will be compatible with other [Israeli defense]
capabilities,” Hagel said, anticipating delivery in two years’ time. NBC
News said Israel requested that the delivery of the Ospreys be
expedited because of threats from Iran and Syria.Hagel added that “the Israeli and American defense relationship is stronger than ever, and it will continue to strengthen.” Nonetheless, the ADL’s national director
Abraham Foxman, who has close ties to the Israeli leadership, told the
conference that American wariness of foreign military involvement is
making it seem “weak and retreating.” In unusually bitter comments,
Foxman declared, “The combination of America’s unsatisfactory
involvement in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, together with the
financial crisis at home, have generated a broader opposition to
American military involvement overseas.”

Citing among other developments the recent
congressional resistance to authorizing a strike on Syria, Foxman said:
“America is being seen as weak and retreating… The world looks at our
choices, looks at our public opinion polls, looks at congressional
reactions, looks at the paralysis in Washington on budgeting matters and
wonders.”The perception of weakness could harm US
efforts to get Iran to end its nuclear push, Foxman warned. “I hope that
