23 And after the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and shall become strong with a small people.
24 He shall enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers' fathers; he shall scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.

ISAIAH 28:14-19 (THIS IS THE 7 YR TREATY COVENANT OF DANIEL 9:27)
14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.

Obama paying ‘lip service’ on Iran strike option, says top MK

Tzachi Hanegbi, a Netanyahu confidant who used to be minister for nuclear affairs, says Israel can’t abide a deal that leaves the centrifuges spinning

US leaders, up to and including President Barack Obama, are merely “paying lip service” when they talk of the military option against Iran, said Tzachi Hanegbi, a leading Likud Knesset member who is one of Prime Minister Benjamin Nentayahu’s closest confidants. When Netanyahu threatens the use of force if all else fails to stop Iran, said Hanegbi, “he’s not making empty threats.” By contrast, “When the speaker is [Secretary of State] Kerry or the White House spokesperson, or even the president and other people, you see that they’re just paying lip service.”The Americans are full of “good intentions,” they have military systems prepared and deployed for tackling the Iranian nuclear program, and it’s clear that Obama understands that the way Iran’s rogue nuclear program is handled will be central to his legacy, Hanegbi told The Times of Israel. Nonetheless, he said, that did not guarantee that the US would show the necessary decisiveness in negotiations with the Iranians.Hanegbi, 56, who sits on the Knesset’s powerful Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee, has served in the past as the chairman of that committee and as minister of intelligence and nuclear affairs. In an extensive interview in his Knesset office last week, during which he noted that “I am very close to Netanyahu,” he said he had no doubt that, if all else fails, Israel is militarily capable of setting back the Iranian program, and that nobody credible “doubts Israel’s ability” to do so.

He elaborated: “People have doubts about the outcome [of Israeli military intervention], how long [its effects] will last and what the Iranian response will be… There are many variables and unknowns that I cannot foresee either… [But] none of these considerations is powerful enough for me to be willing to live under the threat of a nuclear Iran… The weight of all of these considerations combined, of all of the possible negative developments, does not even come close to [the cost of] accepting Iran as a nuclear power.”Asked repeatedly whether he thought the time had come to attack, Hanegbi was politely evasive. “There are things that one can think but not say aloud,” he offered, then added later, “I’m lucky, because I don’t make the decision.”He said the Iranians “generally believe that America is their problem, not Israel… They belittle Israel and do not believe that Israel has the power, the courage or the ability” to confront them. In fact, though, said Hanegbi, “nothing will prevent Netanyahu from doing what he believes is right. And he considers this to be the greatest historical mission that he has been given… to prevent Iran from becoming a nuclear power.”Addressing reports that the prime minister had wanted to strike Iran in the recent past, Hanegbi said nothing would have stopped him — not pressure from the US, from Israel’s security chiefs, or from anywhere else. “If he had thought that military action was crucial at the time, he would have acted. He most likely decided not to because there are great advantages to waiting until Israel comes as close as possible to the limits of its tolerance,” Hanegbi said.Hanegbi, 56, a long-time Likud MK, who left the party to join Kadima and then returned to Likud ahead of January’s elections, acknowledged Israel does not have the means to prevent a deal being done in the US-led negotiations with Tehran that would see sanctions eased while the centrifuges keep on spinning. What Israel is doing, he said, is making plain that it could not be reconciled to such an arrangement.New Iranian President Hassan Rouhani “is trying to undo the damage that [his predecessor Mahmoud] Ahmadinejad did over the past eight years, and to create a type of openness. All this has a purpose, one that he has stated — to remove the sanctions while the centrifuges continue to spin,” Hanegbi said. “Israel does not have the ability to prevent Iran from reaching those goals [at the negotiating table]; it’s just trying to make it clear that these goals are unacceptable to us.”

Hanegbi said he was certain that Rouhani’s election victory in June had come as a surprise to Supreme Leader Ayatolah Khamenei. “Khamenei let him run, but assumed that one of the candidates closer to his approach would be elected,” he said. But Khamenei chose not to intervene because he and the regime “recognized that there was constructive potential, so long as Rouhani was loyal to the central positions.”
Iran’s leaders “know how to intervene if they want to,” Hanegbi said dryly. “Evidently they decided the price of intervention was not worth paying; that things would work out. Although the original plan didn’t work out, they recognized that this was also a positive result and they allowed [Rouhani] to lead what we call his charm offensive. They see it’s effective, so they are certainly happy.”

On Iran, a decisive two months

Some Jewish leaders summoned to the White House last week left dismayed by the US approach and wondering whether Israel is about to run out of time for military intervention

November 4, 2013, 2:35 pm 2-The Times of Israel
As Tzachi Hanegbi, the Likud MK closer than most any other to Netanyahu, told The Times of Israel in an interview late last month, “We don’t know for how long the threat could be thwarted, but the advantage is that you can always act to thwart. You can take action to thwart [the nuclear threat] one time. If, five years later, they advance a program again, you can thwart it once again.” By contrast, “acceptance [of a nuclear Iran] is eternal.”

Chanting ‘death to America,’ Iran protesters rally against US

Anti-US rally draws tens of thousands to mark 1979 takeover of compound and taking of hostages

November 4, 2013, 10:17 am 3-The Times of Israel
But Monday’s rally was the largest in years after calls by groups such as the Revolutionary Guard for a major showing, including chants of “death to America” that some of Rouhani’s backers have urged halted.
Opponents of thawing relations with the US say they will not back down, opening the prospect of deeper internal rifts and tensions that could put pressure on Khamenei to reconsider his backing of Rouhani’s groundbreaking exchanges with the U.S.In September, Rouhani accepted from a call from U.S. President Barack Obama following the annual UN General Assembly in New York, where U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry held talks with Iran’s foreign minister. Ties between the two countries were severed after the embassy siege, which began a hostage crisis with 52 people held for 444 days.Critics of the dialogue made their views immediately known, hurling insults and eggs at Rouhani’s entourage upon their return from New York.Late last month, huge banners appeared around Tehran depicting the U.S. as a sinister and deceitful adversary that seeks to weaken Iran. Tehran officials ordered the signs removed, but they appeared in poster form at the demonstration Monday outside the former embassy compound.Protesters also stomped on images of Obama and the US flag. Others carried well-known banners reading “We trample America under our feet” and “The U.S. is the Great Satan.” One image showed Obama in a wrestling uniform with Star of David earrings, symbolizing Israel.Former top nuclear negotiator Saeed Jalili gave a keynote address  at the rally, saying a confrontation between Iran and the US is a confrontation between good and evil, according to a translation by the state run Press TV.He defended the chant of “death to America” as a call for an end to violence and a symbol “that is not against the American nation.”On Sunday, Khamenei appeared to chide hard-liners by denouncing any attempts to undermine Iran’s nuclear negotiators. Talks with world powers are scheduled to resume Thursday in Geneva.Diplomats “are on a difficult mission and nobody should weaken those who are on assignment,” the official IRNA news agency quoted Khamenei, who has final say on all matters of state, as telling a group of students.Iran seeks to have painful economic sanctions eased in exchange for concessions in its nuclear program to address concerns by the West, which fears Iran’s uranium enrichment could eventually produce weapons-grade material. Iran insists it only seeks reactors for energy and medical applications, but has not made public its possible confidence-building offers at the talks.
Outside the former embassy’s brick walls — covered with anti-U.S. murals — students carried a model of a centrifuge used in uranium enrichment. A slogan on it read: “Result of resistance against sanctions: 18,000 active centrifuges in Iran.”Another banner quoted Khamenei: “The aim of sanctions is to make the Iranian nation desperate.”Khamenei’s backing of Rouhani also puts him in an unfamiliar spot of having to reassure hard-liners he has not abandoned their views.Khamenei on Sunday praised Iranian militant students who stormed the US Embassy in 1979.“Thirty years ago, our young people called the U.S. Embassy a ‘den of spies.’ … It means our young people were 30 years ahead of their time,” he said, a reference to a series of reports of U.S. eavesdropping on foreign leaders, including German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Times of Israel staff contributed to this report.

Judge halts Morsi trial after protests by defiant ex-president

Former leader declares himself ‘legitimate president’ of country, refuses to wear prison clothes; trial to resume January 8

November 4, 2013, 8:09 am Updated: November 4, 2013, 12:49 pm 0
CAIRO — The trial of Mohammed Morsi was adjourned twice early Monday morning after the ousted Egyptian president refused to wear prison clothes and declared himself the legitimate leader of the country.
The trial will resume January 8, giving defense lawyers time to review documents.Morsi told the court trying him for inciting violence and murder that he remains the “legitimate president” of the country. The officials said Morsi also said he rejected the proceedings against him. The defiant remarks came shortly after Morsi’s trial began in Cairo on Monday. The officials, who are inside the courtroom, spoke on condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to discuss the proceedings. The officials say Morsi’s comments came in response to a judge calling his name out after identifying him as a “defendant.”Morsi replied: “I am Dr. Mohammed Morsi, the president of the republic. I am Egypt’s legitimate president.”He further said, “I refuse to be tried by this court.”“I see the judiciary as a cover for the treacherous coup,” the former president added, according to the Saudi news outlet Al-Arabiya.The judge earlier suspended the trial over Morsi’s refusal to wear the white prison uniform all defendants must wear. The session later got underway, though it was not immediately known how the issue of Morsi’s attire was resolved, but the proceedings were soon adjourned because the defendants — Morsi and 14 other Muslim Brotherhood figures — started chanting and disrupted the hearing. The adjournment, ordered by presiding judge Ahmed Sabry Youssef, was likely to last till later on Monday.Al-Ahram, a news outlet with close ties to the regime, reported that the trial was suspended after the defendants chanted from a cage, “Down with the military rule.”He could face the death penalty if convicted.Morsi arrived by helicopter earlier Monday morning at a Cairo police academy where his trial is being held, his first public appearance since the July 3 coup that ousted him from power. The trial is fraught with risks and comes amid a highly charged atmosphere in a bitterly polarized nation, with a deepening schism between Morsi’s Islamist supporters in one hand and Egypt’s security establishment and the nation’s moderate Muslims, secularists, Christians and women on the other.Police are expected to deploy 20,000 officers for extra security to patrol the streets as the trial gets underway. In a last-minute change, authorities on Sunday switched the location of Morsi’s trial, a move apparently aimed at thwarting mass rallies planned by the Muslim Brotherhood, a group from which Morsi hails.Security was tight around the trial’s venue, a police academy in an eastern Cairo district, with hundreds of black-clad riot police backed by armored vehicles deployed around the sprawling complex. Several armored vehicles were deployed too. The final stretch of road leading to the academy was sealed off, with only authorized personnel and accredited journalists allowed to approach the facility.Several hundred Morsi supporters gathered outside the police academy, carrying posters of the ousted president and banners depicting an open palm with four fingers — the symbol commemorating a pro-Morsi sit-in that was violently cleared by security forces in August. They also chanted slogans against Gen. Abdel-Fattah el-Sissi, the military chief who led the July coup.Only four of Morsi’s 28 lawyers were allowed into the courthouse, according to al-Ahram. https://twitter.com/ahauslohner/status/397272829475172352/photo/1
Inside, Morsi refused to wear a prison uniform, instead appearing in a suit.Across town, several hundred Morsi supporters also rallied outside the Supreme Constitutional Court and the capital’s main court complex in the downtown area.“I came here to witness this farce,” Gamal Azab, a Morsi supporter, said outside the police academy. “I am not afraid of the police, but I am worried about my country.”The academy is also being used for the trial of another former president — Hosni Mubarak — toppled in a 2011 uprising. He is accused of failing to stop the killing of protesters.

Since his ouster in the July popularly backed coup, Morsi has been held at a secret military location with little communication to the outside world.During four months of detention, Morsi has been extensively questioned and has not been allowed to meet with lawyers. Virtually his only contact with the outside world was two phone calls with his family. Brotherhood supporters have called the detention an outright kidnapping, and Morsi has refused to cooperate with his interrogators.Morsi faces charges along with 14 other Brotherhood figures and allies — including top leaders Mohammed el-Beltagy and Essam el-Erian — in connection to clashes last December outside his presidential palace that left at least 10 dead. After the July coup, Egypt has witnessed one of its worst bouts of violence in decades. On August 14, security forces violently cleared protest camps set up by Morsi supporters, sparking days of unrest that left more than 1,000 dead.Since then, violent incidents have multiplied: a suicide car bomber tried to assassinate Interior Minister Mohammed Ibrahim in September, and dozens of members of the security forces have been killed in a string of drive-by shootings, explosions and car bombs. Churches have been torched, and in an attack in Cairo last month, five Copts and one Muslim were killed in drive-by shooting at a church.International rights groups have called for fair trial for Morsi. In a Sunday statement, London-based Amnesty International said Morsi’s trial is a “test” for the Egyptian authorities, who must grant him the “right to challenge the evidence against him in court,” said Hassiba Hadj Sahraoui, Amnesty’s Middle East director.Morsi’s family considers the trial illegitimate and will not attend, his son Osama told The Associated Press. Awad said they feared they would be mistreated and humiliated.

N. Korea, Iran 'Pledge Continued Cooperation' Over Nuke Program

Japanese news source reveals Iran's Revolutionary Guard and North Korea promised to continue cooperation on nuclear missiles.-By Ari Yashar-First Publish: 11/4/2013, 8:56 AM-Israelnationalnews

On Saturday it was revealed that Mohammad Ali Jafari, commander of Iran's Revolutionary Guards, met with North Korean delegates visiting Tehran in early August, and in the meeting promised to continue cooperation on nuclear missile development. The North Koreans were visiting to attend Iranian President Hassan Rouhani's swearing-in ceremony. Japanese-language Kyodo News Agency broke the news on Sunday, citing a diplomatic source knowledgeable in Iran's internal affairs.According to the Bangkok Post, North Korean concerns that Rouhani's perceived conciliatory position might threaten military cooperation with Pyongyang were assuaged by Jafari, who told them the Revolutionary Guards are not subordinate to the president but rather to Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khameini. He reportedly reassured them that cooperation on "strategic matters," such as nuclear missiles, would continue. In early October, Iran's state run PressTV reported that Iran's Vice President met with the visiting North Korean Labor Minister and expressed the desire to "see relations between the two countries expand in all areas."The ongoing cooperation belies Rouhani's "charm offensive" in wooing the West to ease sanctions on Iran, and reveals that the danger of Iranian and North Korean nuclear missiles remains as real as ever.On Sunday, former UN Ambassador John Bolton gave an interview on WABC radio in which he stressed that Israel does not have much time to make a "fateful decision" about whether to strike Iran's nuclear sites or allow it to become an existential threat.Bolton significantly remarked, "frankly, they should have done this years ago because we all know intelligence is imperfect and Iran may have a more developed capacity than we know about, perhaps in cooperation with North Korea.”As for American involvement, Former US Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta released statements this week suggesting that the US may have to use military force on Iran.
However, Bolton expressed skepticism about a US military action against Iran's nuclear program, warning “it isn’t going to happen under the Obama administration. I’ll just say it again. It isn’t going to happen.”
Iranian nuclear capacity doesn't only pose a threat to Israel. The Revolutionary Guards confirmed that "death to America" is still their slogan, a slogan they will sound on November 4, Iran's annual "Grand Day of Death to America."The bellicose rhetoric clearly comes from the top in Iran, as on Sunday Supreme Leader Khameini called Israel an "illegitimate and bastard" regime, and called America a "smiling enemy" not to be trusted.Today (Monday), Israeli National Security Council director Yaakov Amidror said Israel must do everything possible to remove the existential threat posed by Iran, explicitly leaving open the possibility of a military strike. On the other side of the equation with Iran, AFP reported October 24 that North Korea built two new tunnel entrances at its atomic test site, signalling the regime has been preparing to hold underground atomic tests to increase its nuclear arsenal.Iran is not the only ally that North Korea is cooperating with in the Middle East. In late October it was revealed that North Korean pilots had been recruited to man attack helicopters in Syria for Bashar Assad's regime.
