A new promotional video released by the Department of Homeland Security characterizes white middle class Americans as the most likely terrorists, as Big Sis continues its relentless drive to cement the myth that mad bombers are hiding around every corner, when in reality Americans are just as likely to be killed by lightning strikes or peanut allergies.The video is part of Homeland Security’s $10 million dollar See Something, Say Something program that encourages Americans to report suspicious activity, which in every case throughout history has been a trait of oppressive, dictatorial regimes.In the course of the 10 minute clip, a myriad of different behaviors are characterized as terrorism, including opposing surveillance, using a video camera, talking to police officers, wearing hoodies, driving vans, writing on a piece of paper, and using a cell phone recording application.Despite encouraging viewers not to pay attention to a person’s race in determining whether or not they may be a terrorist, almost all of the scenarios in the clip proceed to portray white people as the most likely terrorists. Bizarrely, nearly every single one of the patriotic Americans who reports on their fellow citizen is either black, Asian or Arab. Imagine if the video had portrayed every terrorist as an Arab and every patriotic snoop as white, there’d be an outcry and rightly so, but this strange reversal must have been deliberate on the part of the DHS, but why? Is this merely political correctness taken to the extreme or is something deeper at work?

Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that the DHS’ own internal documents list predominantly white conservative groups as the most likely terrorists, such as Ron Paul supporters, gun owners, gold bullion enthusiasts, and a myriad of other comparatively banal political interests that are largely the domain of white middle class Americans.This has little to do with the color of a person’s skin, and everything to do with the fact that white, middle class Americans are the biggest roadblock when it comes to Big Sis expanding its control over every facet of American society.It’s plain to see that very little of the budget for this video went towards paying for decent actors, but perhaps it’s fitting that the participants were about as believable as Santa and his elves, because the notion that terrorists are hovering around every underground parking lot waiting to blow up federal buildings is demonstrably false.As Ohio University’s John Mueller has documented, the likelihood of actually being a victim of terrorism is infinitesimally small, and only highlights how such threats are hyperbolically exaggerated for political purposes.Figures collected by Mueller clearly show that Americans are just as likely to be killed by lightning strikes, accident-causing deer, or severe allergic reactions to peanuts.But the facts don’t matter for a federal agency whose primary function is to manufacture fear to keep Americans under control and submissive to the fact that their economic futures and their constitutional rights are being torn to shreds by their own government while it points to a contrived outside threat as a convenient distraction.At its core, the video is filled with scenes of ordinary citizens spying on each other and alerting the authorities to their compatriots’ suspicious deeds, writes Simon Black. In my favorite scene, a woman calls the police after snooping over the shoulder of a young man typing away on his smartphone.Black notes that such videos are solely aimed at reinforcing ignorance, hate and fear for those who still live in darkness and are completely unaware of the real agenda behind Homeland Security’s see something, say something charade.

But what is that agenda? No matter where you look, from East Germany, to Communist Russia, to Nazi Germany, historically governments who encourage their own citizens to report on each other do so not for any genuine safety concerns or presumed benefits to security, but in order to create an authoritarian police state that coerces the people into policing each other’s behavior and thoughts.As Robert Gellately of Florida State University has highlighted, Germans under Hitler denounced their neighbors and friends not because they genuinely believed them to be a security threat, but because they expected to selfishly benefit from doing so, both financially, socially and psychologically via a pavlovian need to be rewarded by their masters for their obedience.At the height of its influence around one in seven of the East German population was an informant for the Stasi. As in Nazi Germany, the creation of an informant system was wholly centered around identifying political dissidents and those with grievances against the state, and had little or nothing to do with genuine security concerns.This is the kind of society the Department of Homeland Security is, whether deliberately or inadvertently, recreating in 21st century America. Daily Mail reports: Fortunately, it is a public holiday in Norway and the offices are less busy than a normal weekday.Why would terrorists, who presumably want to kill as many people as possible, choose to bomb the building on a day when they know it will be almost empty? Comment from a reader:I’m from Norway and here are some little reported facts:1) Fact: A person dressed as a cop has shot and killed at least 5 members of the youth organization of the governing labour party in their convention at Utøya. He is now captured.Comment: Falske cops? These are professionals. The shootings happened at the same time as the explosion, but far, far away from each other (several houres + you have to take a boat to get to the island).2) Fact: The explosion took place downdtown in the height of the holliday, with all the surrounding buildings (many important press, union and governmental buildings, including the labour party) being almost empty. At a normal day thousands would have been killed and wounded. Today, only a handful dead and wounded.Comment: Why would terrorists choose a timing with less impact? Now, if this is a black-operation in order to influence opinion, it makes sense.3) Fact: My friend’s father is a dynamiter blaster expert by profession. He has worked with explosions for 35 years. He noticed that the ground was raised so that the armouring which had been below the ground now lay above the ground. For this to happen the explosion have had to happen UNDER the ground, like if a gas tube had exploded (there was road/sewer work in the exact area for several days prior to this). When the ground is raised like this, as was apparant on the news, it can not have been a car bomb like the media speculates. People have been smelling sulphur all over downtown.

Comment: Who had the resources to get access underground? Not the fundamentalist simpleton, to be sure.4) Fact: After less than one hour the police concluded that it was a bomb.Comment: How can they have determined this so quickly? There has been complete chaos, people are evacuated and even corpses was not removed within an hour. How could they determine this so quickly? How could they rule out an accident in the gas pipes? This smells fishy.I will continue to update here from Oslo if anything else suspicious pops up.

Oslo Bombing: Is CIA Contact Krekar to Blame?

It is too early to say who is responsible for the bombing of government buildings in Oslo, Norway, that killed at least two people and injured several others. The media is instinctively blaming al-Qaeda, but there is another possible culprit – Mullah Krekar and his Kurdish Islamist group Ansar al-Islam.On July 12, it was reported that a Norwegian prosecutor filed terror charges against the Iraqi-born cleric Krekar after he allegedly threatened Norwegian politicians with death if he’s deported from the country. Krekar went to Norway in 1991 as a refugee from northern Iraq.Authorities from the Kurdistan regional government have repeatedly asked Norway to extradited Krekar for his role in terrorist attacks carried out by the group he founded, Ansar al-Islam. Members of the group are veterans of the CIA-ISI collaborative war against the Soviets in Afghanistan. The group killed an Australian journalist and is believed to involved in the attempted bombing of a DoD office in Arbil, Iraq, in 2003.Krekar has an interesting background. As I wrote in 2005, he was approached by the CIA to work with them. In 2003, he told the al-Hayat newspaper he had a meeting with a CIA representative and someone from the American army in the town of Sulaymaniya (Iraqi Kurdistan) at the end of 2000. They asked us to collaborate with them,an offer Krekar said he refused.Krekar threatened to expose his link to the CIA after the U.S. accused Ansar al-Islam of teaming up with al-Qaeda. I have in my possession irrefutable evidence against the Americans and I am prepared to supply it … if (the United States) tries to implicate me in an affair linked to terrorism,he told the newspaper.

The Bush neocons tried to link Krekar and Ansar al-Islam to al-Qaeda as part of its pre-invasion disinformation campaign. They claimed Saddam Hussein was working with Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda, a claim that was later dispelled as an outright lie.
The Oslo bombing may have nothing to do with the charges leveled against Krekar and Ansar al-Islam, but the timing is suspicious, to say the least. The fact members of the group were involved in the CIA’s war in Afghanistan – an effort that produced both al-Qaeda and the Taliban – and Krekar has admitted associating with the agency needs to be further investigated.It is more likely the bombing will be blamed on al-Qaeda and will become yet more fodder for the the so-called war on terror, promised to last more than a century.

Security experts are speculating that the attacks in Norway are the work of both Islamists and right-wing extremists.Security experts say suspicion is likely to fall on both Islamists and right-wing extremists following a deadly bombing and a shooting at a political gathering in tranquil Norway, reports Reuters.It was not clear if the attacks were linked, but the possibility of a complex, hybrid assault made it difficult to make an early call as to the likely political orientation of the assailants, security experts said.Following the bombing of Norway’s main government building in the capital Oslo, there was a shooting incident at Utoeya, an island south of Oslo where Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg’s Labor party youth section’s yearly gathering was taking place.The assailant was reportedly dressed as a policeman. He appeared to be Norwegian with blonde hair, thus fueling the right-wing element suggested by security experts.Simen Braende Mortensen, a guard on the boat to Utoya Island, has told VG that he saw a man in a police uniform and bulletproof vest drive on to the boat in a silver van. He showed his identification, told them that he was sent to check security, which was routine during the terrorist attack. Once the boat was over to the island, it took a few minutes, they heard shooting. The man apparently had a pistol and a rifle with telescopic sight,the Telegraph reported.

New sources say at least 25 people have been killed at the summer camp. 700 people, mostly teenagers between 14-18, were assembled for the camp.The al-Qaeda teamed up with white right-wing extremists speculation fits the emerging terrorist narrative now unfolding.As pointed out by Paul Joseph Watson yesterday, a new promotional video released by the Department of Homeland Security characterizes white middle class Americans as the most likely terrorists.

OSLO (Reuters) - A bomb ripped through Oslo's central government district on Friday killing seven people, police said, and hours later a gunman opened fire at a youth camp on a nearby island.One witness said he saw 20 dead at the youth camp, but police said they had no confirmation of deaths on the island.I've seen it with my own eyes, at least 20 dead people lying in the water, Andre Skeie, 26, told Reuters by telephone. He said he had gone to Utoeya island with his boat to help people evacuate the island after the shooting.Police declined to comment on casualties at the youth camp at Utoeya, north west of Oslo. State television said a man was arrested.The Oslo bomb blew out the windows of the Prime Minister's building, damaged the finance and oil ministries and scattered glass and masonry across the streets.A Reuters witness said he had seen soldiers taking up positions around the center of the capital, while police said they feared there might be explosives at the youth camp.With police advising people to evacuate central Oslo, apparently in fear of more attacks, Prime Minister Jens Stoltenberg told Norwegian TV2 television in a phone call that the situation was very serious. He said that police had told him not to say where he was speaking from.It exploded -- it must have been a bomb. People ran in panic...I counted at least 10 injured people,said bystander Kjersti Vedun, who was leaving the area of the blast in Oslo.Shortly after the bomb, a gunman described by a police official as tall and blond opened fire at the island of Utoeya north-west of Oslo, sending people scattering in terror. The target was a youth camp of Stoltenberg's Labour party youth section.

There was a lot of shooting...We hid under a bed. It was very terrifying, a young woman present at the island youth camp told British Sky television. She said police helicopters were flying overhead.Daily newspaper VG said on its website the gunman had been dressed as a policeman.Norwegian commercial broadcaster TV2 said several people had been killed in the shooting spree.There was no clear claim of responsibility and while the attacks appeared to bear the hallmarks of an Islamist militant assault, analysts said it was too early to draw any conclusions.NATO member Norway has been the target of threats before over its involvement in conflicts in Afghanistan and Libya.The attack came just over a year after three men were arrested on suspicion of having links to al Qaeda and planning to attack targets in Norway. It came also less than three months after U.S. forces killed Osama bin Laden in a raid on his hideout in Pakistan.Violence or the threat of it has already come to the other Nordic states: a botched bomb attack took place in the Swedish capital Stockholm last December and the bomber was killed.Denmark has received repeated threats after a newspaper published cartoons of the Prophet Mohammad in late 2005, angering Muslims worldwide.The Oslo blast tore at the facade of the 17-storey central government building, blowing out most of the windows and scattering shards of metal and other debris for hundreds of meters (yards).The building of a publisher which recently put out a translation of a Danish book on the Mohammad cartoon controversy was also affected, but was apparently not the target.The blast scattered debris across the streets and shook the entire city center at around 3:30 p.m. (9:30 a.m. EDT). A Reuters witness saw eight people injured, one covered in a sheet and apparently dead.

MOST VIOLENT SINCE WORLD WAR TWO

Madrid suffered an Islamist militant bomb attack on commuter trains in 2004 that killed 191 people. Four suicide bombers killed 52 people in an attack on London's transport system in 2005.The Reuters correspondent said the streets had been fairly quiet in mid-afternoon on a Friday in high summer, when many Oslo residents take vacation or leave for weekend breaks.This is a terror attack. It is the most violent event to strike Norway since World War Two, said Geir Bekkevold, an opposition parliamentarian for the Christian Peoples Party.The district attacked is the very heart of power in Norway, with several other key administration buildings nearby.
Nearby ministries were also hit by the blast, including the oil ministry, which was on fire. Nevertheless, security is not tight given the lack of violence in the past.
The failed December attack in Stockholm was by a Muslim man who grew up in Sweden but said he had been angered by Sweden's involvement in the NATO-led force in Afghanistan and the Prophet Mohammad cartoons.That attack was followed weeks later by the arrest in Denmark of five men for allegedly planning to attack the newspaper which first ran the Mohammad cartoons.In July 2010, Norwegian police arrested three men for an alleged plot to organize at least one attack on Norwegian targets and said they were linked to individuals investigated in the United States and Britain.
John Drake, senior risk consultant at London-based consultancy AKE, said: It may not be too dissimilar to the terrorist attack in Stockholm in December which saw a car bomb and secondary explosion shortly after in the downtown area.That attack was later claimed as a reprisal for Sweden's contribution to the efforts in Afghanistan.
Political violence is virtually unknown in a country known for awarding the Nobel Peace Prize and mediating in conflicts, including in the Middle East and Sri Lanka.
