Beach parties, fireworks: World rings in new year-Associated Press-By The Associated Press-DEC 31,14-YAHOONEWS
After a turbulent year marred by terror woes, Ebola outbreaks and a horrific series of airline disasters, many could be forgiven for saying good riddance to 2014 and gratefully ringing in a new year.Across the globe, revelers looking for a respite from the gloom converged on the beaches of Brazil, the shores of Sydney harbor and New York's Times Square to welcome 2015. A look at how the world is celebrating:
BREAKING A BRIGHT RECORD IN DUBAI
The Gulf Arab emirate of Dubai was aiming to break the world record for the largest LED-illuminated facade. Some 70,000 LED panels wrapped around the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa, which draws throngs of thousands of spectators every New Year's Eve for an impressive fireworks display.
Emaar Properties said a team from Guinness World Records monitored the preparations. Last year, Dubai won the title for the world's largest firework display, according to Guinness.
FIRST UP: DOWN UNDER
Sydney takes pride in being one of the first major cities in the world to welcome each new year, and it greeted 2015 in its trademark glittery fashion — with a tropical-style fireworks display featuring shimmering gold and silver palm tree pyrotechnic effects.More than 1.5 million revelers crowded along the shores of the city's harbor in warm summer weather to watch the vivid eruption of light over the Harbour Bridge, Opera House and other points. At midnight, the crowd cheered as a 12-minute firework display was launched. A tribute to two hostages killed in the December siege inside a downtown cafe was displayed on the pylons of the Harbour Bridge during the main fireworks display.
PRAYERS IN INDONESIA
The loss of AirAsia Flight 8501 and a deadly landslide in Central Java muted celebrations in Indonesia. In the capital, the city conducted prayers for the victims of the tragedies, in addition to the annual Jakarta Night Festival.Other Indonesian cities opted to cancel or tone down their celebrations. Surabaya's Mayor Tri Rismaharini banned any kind of New Year entertainment in Indonesia's second-largest city, where most of the 162 people on the AirAsia flight that crashed Sunday were from. Hundreds of Surabaya residents, including young children, lit candles and braved a drizzle at a park to observe a minute of silence for crash victims."Let us pray for the grieving families of those on board the plane. Let us pray this will be the last tragedy for Surabaya," Rismaharini told the crowd.
GUN-HAPPY PHILIPPINE POLICE WARNED
Philippines acting National Police Chief Leonardo Espina warned that police who fire their guns during normally raucous celebrations will lose their jobs. Thunderous fireworks and gunfire normally leave communities shrouded in smog and gun smoke every year and result in hundreds of injuries and even deaths. Since the New Year celebration began Dec. 21 more than 160 people have been injured. In the southern Philippines, a bomb exploded at the entrance of a town market packed with New Year's Eve shoppers, killing four people and wounding at least 30 others. There were no immediate suspects, but Muslim rebels have been blamed for similar attacks in the region.
TOSSING REFRIGERATORS OUT OF THE WINDOW?
In South Africa's largest city, Johannesburg, New Year's Eve has historically brought an increase in petty crime and vandalism. In the city's Hillbrow district there has been a strange, and dangerous, tradition of throwing unwanted items, like furniture and even stoves and refrigerators, out of high-rise apartments. To try to make the holiday safer in the inner-city, the Joburg Carnival was launched three years ago.
NO SPLASHY PARTIES FOR INDIAN MINISTERS
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Cabinet are working both Dec. 31 and Jan. 1 in keeping with his promise of "good governance." Government ministers canceled travel and celebration plans and were asked to stay away from splashy parties and celebrations.
BIG BEN BONGS IN THE NEW
In London, hundreds of thousands of people were expected to line the River Thames for a fireworks display timed to the midnight bongs of Big Ben, Parliament's famous bell.Revelers in the Scottish capital, Edinburgh, will flood the streets for Hogmanay, one of Europe's biggest year-end celebrations. The three-day festival — derived from Viking celebrations of the winter solstice — began Tuesday with a torch-lit procession of 35,000 people, including marching bands and troupes in full Viking regalia, and a fireworks display atop Calton Hill.
AT THE COPA ... COPACABANA
More than 1 million people are expected to flock to the golden sands of Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana beach, where two dozen artists and DJs will perform on three stages. Tourists and locals routinely party until dawn on the beach, staying awake to watch the tropical sun rise for the first time in 2015.
A massive fireworks display that's blasted from boats on the Atlantic Ocean will light the sky over the crowd, which traditionally dresses in all white, a Brazilian tradition to bring purification and a peaceful year. Another tradition calls for partygoers to enter the sea up to their knees and jump over seven waves shortly after the New Year begins, for luck.
PUTIN HAILS CRIMEA ANNEXATION
Russian President Vladimir Putin used his New Year's speech to hail his nation's annexation of Ukraine's Crimea Peninsula. He said Crimea's "return home" will "forever remain a landmark in the national history."
WATCHING THE BALL — OR WHATEVER — DROP
New York will drop its Waterford crystal ball at midnight, in a tradition being increasingly copied across the United States with twists celebrating local icons.Among the items being dropped: a big chili in Las Cruces, New Mexico; a replica peach in Atlanta; a musical note in Nashville, Tennessee; a large pine cone in Flagstaff, Arizona; an oversized spurred cowboy boot in Prescott, Arizona; a 600-pound (270-kilogram) walleye made of wood and fiberglass in Port Clinton, Ohio; an 80-pound (36-kilogram) wedge of cheese in Plymouth, Wisconsin; and in Escanaba, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, a replica of a pasty (pronounced PAS'-tee) — a baked pastry filled with meat and potatoes.
POLICE PROTESTS IN U.S.
Amid the celebration, some U.S. cities are on alert for New Year's Eve protests related to recent police killings of unarmed black men.Boston's mayor and police commissioner urged activists to hold off on a planned late afternoon "die-in."No plans for major protests were announced in New York, where the police department is still mourning two officers shot to death in a patrol car. But security will be tight, with more personnel than usual.

Lithuanians back new euro currency amid Russian tensions-Today @ 09:29-dec 31,14-euobserver- By Nikolaj Nielsen
BRUSSELS - Lithuania on Thursday (1 January) will adopt the euro with a majority now supporting the currency change amid heightened tensions with their former Russian masters.A mid-November poll found more than half support the euro as opposed to only 41 percent at the start of 2013.The survey suggests economic benefits and stability are among the reasons why some back the new currency despite the fact that the eurozone region is suffering from poor growth and high unemployment. The country of three million has one of the fastest growing economies following years of turmoil caused by the global financial crisis. In June, the European Commission noted that Lithuania’s per capita GDP rose from 35 percent of the EU average in 1995 to a projected 78 percent in 2015.It is also the only member state to have had its currency ambitions turned down by eurozone officials when it attempted to join the euro in 2007. The application at the time was rejected largely due to high inflation rates. But the New Year's turnaround means the southernmost of the three Baltic states will now share a currency already adopted by Latvia earlier this year and by Estonia in 2011.Lithuania’s chairman of the board of the bank, Vitas Vasiliauskas, said that broader support for the common currency “was affected by greatly increased awareness of the public, since uncertainty is a regular cause of various fears”.Recent tensions with Russia, following Moscow’s annexation of Crimea in March, are also likely to have contributed to the euro backing. The former Soviet republic, which joined the European Union and Nato in 2004, is a strategic base for the alliance’s Baltic air policing patrols. The past year has seen Nato scramble jets some 150 times to ward off approaching Russian fighters and bombers along the Baltic nations.German media in December reported that all three nations have signed up to large defence contracts after Russia boosted its military presence in the region.Lithuania recently signed a €34 million contract for a Polish anti-missile system, reported Spiegel Online.Border tensions with Russia have also marked the country. In November, Lithuania’s foreign ministry summoned Russia's ambassador over tightened Russian cross-border procedures that saw traffic piling up on the Lithuanian side. All EU member states, with the exception of the UK and Denmark, are required to join the euro.Lithuania will become the 19th member of the eurozone.

Merkel criticises anti-Islam Pegida movement-Today @ 09:23-DEC 31,14-EUOBSERVER-By Honor Mahony
BRUSSELS - German chancellor Angela Merkel is to use her traditional New Year speech to criticise a new anti-Islam movement in Germany. In her most strongly-worded reaction to the Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of the West (Pegida), which earlier this month attracted 17,000 supporters in the eastern city of Dresden, Merkel will urge Germans not to heed calls to join the demonstrations. She says Pegida's leaders have “prejudice, coldness, even hatred in their hearts”.The speech, due to be delivered on Wednesday evening, notes that while Pegida's supporters shout "We are the people" what they mean is "you are not one of us, because of your skin colour or your religion.”The Pegida movement was only formed in October but the size and nature of its demonstrations has shocked the political establishment in Germany.Werner Patzelt, a political scientist quoted by German public tv ARD, said the language at the Pegida gathering in Dresden on 15 December, had become much sharper, noting that one of the speeches could be considered incitement to hatred.Pegida members like to refer to their weekly demonstrations as "strolls" through the city. The group arose from a Facebook group started by Lutz Bachmann, a graphic designer. The first march saw just a few hundred turn up in October but the numbers rose quickly.Demonstrators hold placards containing messages such as "protect our homeland" or "stop the Islamisation" while the group's leaders have been dimissed as 'pinstripe Nazis'.Pegida, for its part, says it is not against immigrants or Islam but against extremism. However, the demonstrations have been supported by far-right and Neo-Nazi groups. As the Pegida numbers have grown, so too have anti-Pegida demonstrations and speeches calling for tolerance and a multicultural society. The head of the Protestant church in Germany, Heinrich Bedford-Strohm, said while Pegida supporters claim to want to "save" the Christian Western world, the real Christian duty would be to welcome refugees and give them proper housing.Immigration has become an increasingly political topic in Germany as fighting in Iraq and Syria have prompted a sharp rise in the number of asylum seekers.Manfred Schmidt, head of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, recently said Germany expects around 230,000 asylum seekers in 2015.Authorities are expecting 200,000 asylum requests this year, a 60 percent increase compared to 2013.
Russia's Putin praises Crimea's 'return home' in New Year address-Reuters-DEC 31,14-YAHOO NEWS
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russian President Vladimir Putin said in a televised New Year's address on Wednesday that the "return home" of Ukraine's Crimea peninsula to Moscow's control would forever remain an important chapter in Russia's history.Putin is facing the biggest challenge of his 15-year rule as the Russian economy is sliding sharply into recession, hurt by Western sanctions over the Ukraine crisis and falling prices for oil, Russia's chief export. His comments are likely to strike a chord in a country where many people have always viewed Crimea as part of their homeland because of centuries of shared history and the region's mainly ethnic Russian population."Love for one's motherland is one of the most powerful and uplifting feelings. It manifested itself in full in the brotherly support to the people of Crimea and Sevastopol, when they resolutely decided to return home," Putin said. "This event will remain a very important epoch in domestic history forever."Russia annexed Crimea in March following the ouster of a Russian-backed Ukrainian president in Kiev, triggering the deepest crisis in East-West relations since the end of the Cold War and prompting several waves of Western economic sanctions.Ukraine and the West view the annexation as illegitimate.Putin's popularity has surged at home thanks to his tough stance on the Ukraine crisis, but a deepening economic crisis threatens to undermine the stability and prosperity on which his approval ratings partly rest.Next year, the Russian economy is projected to fall by around 4.5 percent if the average price of oil remains near $60 per barrel, according to the central bank."The (next) year will turn out the way we make it," Putin said. "We have to fulfill, implement everything we had planned for our own sake, for the sake of our children and the Motherland."The New Year's address was broadcast to Russia's Far East regions many hours before Moscow, when it is typically shown just before midnight. In a separate and apparently conciliatory gesture, Putin sent New Year's greetings to Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, RIA Novosti news agency reported, citing Putin's press service.(Reporting by Vladimir Soldatkin; Editing by Alexander Winning and Ralph Boulton)
EU foreign policy chief seeks new 'debate' with Russia-29.12.14 @ 09:29-EUOBSERVER-By Andrew Rettman
BRUSSELS - Federica Mogherini, the EU’s foreign policy chief, has said the bloc should launch a new “debate” with Russia aimed at ending the “confrontation” over Ukraine. She told Italy’s La Repubblica daily on Saturday (27 December): “The current situation is very difficult for Russia. It would be in its interest to contribute to ending the conflict. At the same time, we all know that Russia plays an important role not only in Ukraine, but also in Syria, Iran, the Middle East, Libya”.“We have to open a direct debate with Moscow on our mutual relations and the role that Russia can play in other crises”.She noted that Ukraine and the US also want a way out.“Even in Kiev the question that everyone is asking is: How can the conflict be brought to an end?”, she said.“I often speak with [US secretary of state John] Kerry and there is complete identity of views on the crisis … everyone wants to get out of the logic of confrontation, of wall against wall”.Mogherini will, on 19 January in Brussels, chair an EU foreign ministers’ “strategic” discussion on Russia, with member states, between March and July, to decide whether to extend sanctions for another year.EU leaders already held strategic Russia talks earlier this month.Following the summit, German chancellor Angela Merkel said sanctions can only be lifted if Russia gives up conquered territories in Ukraine. But France and Italy took a softer line, while Merkel’s foreign minister - Frank-Walter Steinmeier from the centre-left SPD party in the grand coalition - later warned that a Russian economic collapse would be dangerous for Europe. The Russia-friendly camp includes Austria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, and Slovakia, with Austrian president Heinz Fischer on Sunday echoing Steinmeier in an interview with the Wirtschaftsblatt newspaper.“The Russian economy has a certain degree of robustness, but the sanctions pose considerable problems … a serious crisis in Russia and an economic collapse would only create more problems. The doors between Europe and Russia must remain open,” he said.He added that partitioning Ukraine is one way to address Russia’s concerns.“Serious talk of reforms in the area of decentralisation or federalisation would have to be done, which would create a situation in eastern Ukraine that both sides could live with”.Russia, Russia-controlled rebels, and Ukraine agreed to a prisoner exchange during talks in Minsk last week. But the meeting failed to reach a more comprehensive agreement. Meanwhile, the rouble crisis continued to gather pace over the holiday season.Russia said it will have to triple the size of its bailout for the National Trust Bank to $1.9 billion and to spend a further $5.9 billion to prop up the VTB and Gazprombank lenders. It also called on Russian firms to start selling dollars for roubles in the coming months in what analysts describe as a form of capital control. The situation is acute in Crimea, which Russia annexed in March, and which it can only supply by sea.Ukraine last Friday cut electricity and train services to the region, while new EU and US sanctions saw credit card company Visa block services for card holders in the peninsula.
More pain to come?
The Russian currency crisis arises, for the most part, from a slump in oil prices. But EU and US sanctions are making matters worse because blacklisted Russian banks, energy, and arms firms cannot roll over their dollar- and euro-denominated debt on international markets. For her part, Catherine Mann, the chief economist at the OECD, a Paris-based wealthy nations’ club, warned things will get worse in the new year. She told Britain’s Sunday Telegraph that oil prices could stay as low as $50 per barrel and that Russia’s efforts to become self-sufficient from global markets will cause hardship: “The end game is autarky, and for an economy to return to being disconnected from the global economy, to be farming its own land for food, for the energy to be only used within its own economy, to not import clothing and machinery – this requires painful restructuring”.Paul Krugman, a US economist and Nobel prize laureate, noted in his column in the New York Times that “what’s making the Russian experience so dire is the linkage oil-rouble-balance sheets, because of all the dollar- and euro-denominated debt”.Russia’s own finance minister, Anton Siluanov, on Saturday also told press in Moscow that if things don’t change Russia will enter recession in 2015 and use up its $399 billion rainy day fund by 2017.“We’ll burn through all the reserves in 2016-2017”, he said, Bloomberg reports.“At one third of all budget spending, defence has too large a share. We need to reshuffle and restructure spending for infrastructure, education, and so on”.
Russia: Ukraine's import of US nuclear fuel risky-Associated Press-DEC 31,14-YAHOONEWS
MOSCOW (AP) — Russia says Ukraine's deal to buy U.S.-made nuclear fuel for its Soviet-built reactors could trigger a nuclear accident.Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk of Ukraine announced Tuesday that his nation has reached a deal on nuclear fuel deliveries with Westinghouse to reduce dependence on Russian supplies.Russia's Foreign Ministry deplored the move as a "dangerous experiment that threatens safety and health of the Ukrainian citizens and peoples of Europe." It said nuclear fuel produced by the U.S. company doesn't quite fit Soviet-built nuclear reactors that Ukraine has.The ministry said Ukrainian authorities must take a responsible approach to nuclear safety, or risk disasters such as the 1986 Chernobyl one, which was a result of a flawed Soviet reactor design coupled with serious mistakes made by the plant operators. In a statement Tuesday, Westinghouse said it "has been working in the Ukrainian market since 2003, and brings diversification of suppliers, global best practices and technology to the Ukraine market. Westinghouse fuel is currently operating safely and efficiently at the South Ukraine Nuclear Power Plant without any defects in performance."

Ukraine nuke plant unit taken offline-Associated Press-December 28, 2014 4:36 AM- YAHOO NEWS
MOSCOW (AP) — One unit of Ukraine's Zaporozhiya nuclear power plant, the largest in Europe, has been taken offline because of generator problems.State nuclear power company Energoatom says the unit was disconnected from the electricity net early Sunday to prevent internal damage to the generator. It did not give further details, but said radiation in the area is within acceptable limits. It is the second time this month that a unit at the plant has been taken out of service. The earlier unit, different from the one affected Sunday, was restored to service after several days.Concern about nuclear energy remains high in Ukraine because of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster. The 6,000-megawatt Zaporozhiya plant's six reactors are of a different design than the one that exploded at Chernobyl.

Ebola-hit UK nurse treated with survivor's plasma, trial drug-AFP-By Robin Millard-DEC 31,14-YAHOONEWS
London (AFP) - A British nurse who contracted Ebola in west Africa is being treated with the blood plasma of someone who survived the virus and an experimental anti-viral drug, the doctor supervising her care said Wednesday.Pauline Cafferkey, who had been volunteering at a British-built treatment centre in Sierra Leone, is being treated at the Royal Free hospital in London, which has the only isolation ward in Britain equipped for Ebola sufferers.Doctor Michael Jacobs said she was sitting up, reading and talking to medics from inside her isolation tent but warned that the Ebola virus was unpredictable and that her health could get worse." We've decided to treat her with two things, the first of which is convalescent plasma," Jacobs told reporters."The second thing that we've given her is an experimental antiviral drug."The plasma was taken from the blood of a patient successfully treated in Europe and chosen from a shared European stockpile as the most appropriate for Cafferkey. The antibodies it contains should help her fight the virus, Jacobs explained. The experimental drug is not ZMapp, the drug used to treat fellow British volunteer nurse William Pooley, who recovered from Ebola, because "there is none in the world at the moment", Jacobs said."There is no specific treatment for Ebola that has been proven to work," he emphasised.Cafferkey is the first person to test positive for Ebola in Britain and the second to be treated for the virus in the country after Pooley, who has since returned to Sierra Leone.Cafferkey expressed concern about her temperature to airport officials when she returned to London from Sierra Leone via Casablanca in Morocco on Sunday. Her temperature was taken at London Heathrow Airport but did not raise alarms and she was cleared to take a connecting flight home to Glasgow. She was eventually diagnosed with Ebola on Monday and flown from a Glasgow hospital to London on a military plane.
- Treatment went 'very smoothly' -
"Ebola runs a very variable course and the next few days are going to be very critical," Jacobs said.
"Things may get worse; we hope that the treatment will make her better," he said, adding that Cafferkey was in the very early stages of the virus and the situation would be clearer in a week's time.He said the medical team looking after her had discussed treatment options with her.She has also been in communication with her family through an intercom, though they can see one another."She's as well as we can hope for at this stage of the illness," said Jacobs."She's had the treatment, it's gone very smoothly, no side-effects at all."The British government's chief medical officer Sally Davies told ITV television that there would be a review of airport screening procedures even though Cafferkey "had no symptoms" at Heathrow."Her temperature was within the acceptable range," she said.A doctor who travelled back to London with Cafferkey had complained of "shambolic" screening procedures in Britain.Meanwhile two patients who recently returned to Britain from west Africa tested negative for Ebola. The two had been tested separately at hospitals in Aberdeen in Scotland and Cornwall in southwest England. The patients were unconnected to Cafferkey.
Hong Kong destroys poultry from China after bird flu found-Associated Press-DEC 31,14-YAHOONEWS
HONG KONG (AP) — Authorities in Hong Kong began destroying 15,000 chickens at a poultry market Wednesday and suspended imports from mainland China after some birds were found to be infected with bird flu.The market in Cheung Sha Wan in the Kowloon district will be closed and imports suspended for 21 days, Health Secretary Ko Wing-man announced. Some chickens at the market supplied by a farm in Guangdong province on the mainland tested positive for the H7 variety of flu, Ko said. Authorities are most concerned about preventing the spread of the H7N9 strain, but Ko gave no indication whether that was found.Authorities will "arrange to cull all the live poultry, around 15,000 in total" at the market, Ko said at a news conference early Wednesday, according to a transcript distributed by his agency."Supply of live poultry from the mainland will also have to be suspended for the same period of time," Ko said.On Tuesday, the Hong Kong government announced that tests showed some birds from the farm in Huizhou in Guangdong were infected at some time in the past with the H7 flu.Ko said another round of tests confirmed the birds were still infected. In January, Hong Kong authorities destroyed 20,000 birds after a chicken from Guangdong tested positive for the H7N9 flu strain.

THE FIRST JUDGEMENT OF THE EARTH STARTED WITH WATER-IT ONLY MAKES SENSE THE LAST GENERATION WILL BE HAVING FLOODING
GENESIS 7:6-12
6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.
8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
GOD PROMISED BY A RAINBOW-THE EARTH WOULD NEVER BE DESTROYED TOTALLY WITH A FLOOD AGAIN.BUT FLOODIING IS A SIGN OF JUDGEMENT.
Philippine storm weakens, leaves 53 dead-Associated Press-DEC 31,14-YAHOONEWS
MANILA, Philippines (AP) — A tropical storm that pounded the central Philippines earlier this week has left at least 53 dead in landslides and flash floods, disaster officials said Wednesday. The dead included a least 29 buried by landslides in the central island provinces of Samar and Leyte. Among them were 10 dead in Tanauan township, which was devastated by last year's Typhoon Haiyan that claimed more than 7,300 lives, according to the Office of Civil Defense. Most of the others drowned in raging floodwaters when the storm hit on Tuesday. At least eight are missing and more than 136,000 have fled their flooded communities to emergency shelters.Forecasters said the storm Jangmi weakened into a tropical depression Wednesday and was expected to dissipate off the western island province of Palawan.Presidential spokesman Herminio Coloma said President Benigno Aquino III ordered relief supplies and other assistance delivered to affected communities, many of whom were still reeling from last year's deadly typhoon. In all, more than 200,000 people have been affected by the storm in 14 central and southern Philippine provinces.

HOSEA 4:1-3
1 Hear the word of the LORD, ye children of Israel: for the LORD hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land,(EARTH) because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
ZEPHANIAH 1:2-3
2 I will utterly consume all things from off the land, saith the LORD.
3 I will consume man and beast; I will consume the fowls of the heaven, and the fishes of the sea, and the stumblingblocks with the wicked; and I will cut off man from off the land, saith the LORD.
EZEKIEL 32:6-9
6 I will also water with thy blood the land wherein thou swimmest, even to the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of thee.
7 And when I shall put thee out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars thereof dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.
8 All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over thee, and set darkness upon thy land, saith the Lord GOD.
9 I will also vex the hearts of many people, when I shall bring thy destruction among the nations, into the countries which thou hast not known.
REVELATION 8:8-11
8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood:(bitter,Poisoned) and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.(poisoned)
REVELATION 16:3-7
3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.(enviromentalists won't like this result)
4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood.
5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus.
6 For they(False World Church and Dictator) have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy.
