SURABAYA, 15TH JANUARY 2015 - The search and rescue (SAR) operations led by The National Search and Rescue Agency (BASARNAS) Republic of Indonesia resumed search and recovery operations in the primary search area today.SAR vessels, helicopters and sea divers were mobilized around the primary focus area today to observe the seafloor prior to the passengers and wreckage recovery as it was suspected that more passengers are likely trapped under the wreckage. However, there are no additional recoveries reported today.The two passengers remains which were recovered yesterday (14/01) are still in Kota Baru, South Borneo and will be flown to Surabaya (Bhayangkara Hospital) for identification purposes.The Disaster Victim Identification Police Department Republic of Indonesia (DVI POLRI) announced that one passenger has been identified as: Cindy Clarissa Soetjipto (female). PANGKALAN BUN, Indonesia: Indonesian divers on Thursday (Jan 15) failed to reach the drowned main body of an AirAsia jet that crashed last month, as bad weather and rough seas hampered efforts to reach the remaining victims' bodies.Flight QZ8501 went down on December 28 in stormy weather during what was supposed to be a short trip from the Indonesian city of Surabaya to Singapore, with 162 people on board. After a lengthy search, a Singapore military vessel spotted the fuselage - the main trunk of the plane - at the bottom of the Java Sea on Wednesday.So far just 50 bodies have been recovered, but authorities hope the main section will contain most of the bodies of passengers and crew. Underwater photos taken by high-tech search equipment showed the fuselage and part of Malaysia-based AirAsia's motto - "Now Everyone Can Fly" - painted on the plane's exterior.Divers tried to reach the wreckage in the morning and again in the afternoon, but did not succeeded in getting close enough to the fuselage, which is about 30 metres (100 feet) under water, to make an initial assessment."Our diving operation was hampered by bad weather," search and rescue agency official S.B Supriyadi told AFP. "It was raining heavily, there were high waves, the visibility under water was less than two metres and there were strong currents."Divers will go down again early on Friday, he added. Officials say if divers have problems retrieving bodies from the aircraft while it is still on the seabed, rescuers will try to lift it. The fuselage is attached to part of a wing, and the wreckage is 26 metres long.Rescuers have already used giant balloons to lift the plane's tail out of the water after it was found about two kilometres (1.2 miles) from the main body.

Farmer Aris Siswanto, whose wife's body has yet to be recovered, said he was relieved the fuselage had finally been found. "I have waited anxiously for 19 days now without any certainty," the 42-year-old, who lives close to Surabaya, told AFP."With the discovery of the fuselage I feel like I have new hope, even if it is only the hope of seeing my wife's remains."MV Swift Rescue, the Singaporean ship that located the main body of the wreck, was part of a huge international hunt that also included boats from the US and China. PANGKALAN BUN, Indonesia (Reuters) - Indonesian navy divers searched for bodies on Thursday in the fuselage of an AirAsia airliner that crashed into the sea more than two weeks ago, killing all 162 people on board.A military vessel found the fuselage on Wednesday, about 3 km (2 miles) from where the tail of the aircraft was hauled up from the bottom of the Java Sea last weekend.Indonesia AirAsia Flight QZ8501 lost contact with air traffic control in bad weather on Dec. 28, less than halfway into a two-hour flight from the Indonesian city of Surabaya to Singapore.The cause of AirAsia's first fatal crash is not yet known, but seasonal storms are believed to have been a factor.Divers retrieved the flight data and cockpit voice recorders earlier this week from the plane's sunken wreckage. Indonesian investigators have started examining the black box recorders and hope to find clues on why the plane crashed within days.Only 50 bodies have been recovered and searchers hope more of the victims, most of whom were Indonesian, will be found in the fuselage, the main section of the plane that holds passengers and crew.If bodies are found in the fuselage, divers will need to determine whether the entire wreckage can be lifted by using large balloons or if bodies need to be retrieved separately."We will wait for the calculation results from the divers on which one is faster. PANGKALAN BUN: A Singaporean navy ship on Wednesday located the main body of the AirAsia plane that crashed into the Java Sea late last month, raising hopes that bodies of most of the 162 victims will now be found.Underwater photos showed the cracked fuselage and part of a wing of Flight QZ8501, that went down on December 28 in stormy weather during a short trip from the Indonesian city of Surabaya to Singapore.The discovery of the fuselage is the latest boost in a lengthy search operation in Indonesian waters hampered by bad weather. Just 50 bodies have so far been recovered with most of the victims believed to be trapped inside the Airbus 320-200's main body.It followed the retrieval this week of both the plane's black boxes, which contain vital information to help investigators determine what caused the crash.AirAsia boss Tony Fernandes confirmed the fuselage had been found in a tweet, saying: "It is so so sad though seeing our aircraft. I'm gutted and devastated.""We hope all our guests are there," he added.Singapore's Defence Minister Ng Eng Hen said in a Facebook post that the MV Swift Rescue had located the wreckage, which was 26 metres (85 feet) long and about two kilometres from where the plane's tail was found earlier.On the photos accompanying the post, taken by the ship's remotely operated vehicle, the words "now" and "everyone" are visible, apparently from AirAsia's motto "Now Everyone Can Fly" painted on the plane's exterior.Indonesia's national search and rescue chief Bambang Soelistyo said that divers would head to the main body on Thursday."It is already dark so we will carry out the dive tomorrow morning with the target to find the victims which may still be around it or trapped in the body," he said."If the divers have any difficulty, the next step will then be to lift the body and the wing."He added that two more victims were found Wednesday, meaning 50 bodies have so far been retrieved.The Singapore navy ship was part of a huge international hunt for the plane, which also included US and Chinese ships.
