Teacher trashes messages a first-grader brought to class referring to Christ, says non-profit group

A school teacher told a first grader that “Jesus is not allowed in school” while tearing off messages reciting a religious legend that the student attached to candy canes he brought for his class, a non-profit group claims.
Each candy cane that first grader Isaiah Martinez brought for his
classmates came attached with the legend that a candy maker created
candy canes to symbolize the life of Jesus Christ, which the teacher
reportedly tore off of each cane and threw in the trash under the
direction of the school principal.After telling Martinez that “Jesus is not allowed in school,” the
teacher handed him back his candy canes without the messages attached.“Isaiah then nervously handed the candy canes to his classmates in
fear that he was in trouble for trying to bring a little Christmas cheer
and ‘good tidings’ to class,” the non-profit group Advocates for Faith & Freedom said in its press release.The non-profit group demanded that the school stop “officials from
bullying and intimidating Christian and religiously-affiliated
students.”“Advocates for Faith & Freedom has experienced a surge in phone
calls from students and their parents across the country who are victims
of religiously motivated bullying; not bullying by other students, but
bullying by teachers and school officials,” Robert Tyler, the general
counsel for the group, stated. “The pendulum has swung so far in the
opposite direction that public schools are becoming a place of hostility
toward Christian and other religiously-based worldviews.”“It’s time to push the pendulum back in the right direction where

(Google-owned) Motorola, told an audience at the All Things D11
Conference that the company was working on a microchip inside a pill
that users would swallow daily in order obtain the “superpower” of
having their entire body act as a biological authentication system for
cellphones, cars, doors and other devices.“This pill has a small chip inside of it with a switch,”
said Dugan. “It also has what amounts to an inside out potato battery.
When you swallow it, the acids in your stomach serve as the electrolyte
and that powers it up. And the switch goes on and off and creates an 18
bit ECG wide signal in your body and essentially your entire body
becomes your authentication token.”Dugan added that the chip had already been FDA approved
and could be taken 30 times a day for someone’s entire life without
effecting their health, a seemingly dubious claim.Would you swallow a Google microchip every day simply to access your cellphone? Privacy advocates will wince at the thought, especially
given Dugan’s former role as head of DARPA, the Pentagon agency that
many see as being at the top of the pyramid when it comes to the Big
Brother technocracy.Indeed, when host Walt Mossberg asked Dugan, “Does
Google now know everything I do and everywhere I go because let’s face
it….you’re from Google,” she responded by laughing and saying Mossberg
should just swallow the pill.In addition to the edible microchip, Motorola is also
working on a wearable e-tattoo that could also read a user’s mind by
detecting the unvocalized words in their throat.“It has been known for decades that when you speak to
yourself in your inner voice, your brain still sends neural spike
volleys to your vocal apparatus, in a similar fashion to when you
actually speak aloud,” explains Extreme Tech’s John Hewitt,
noting that the device could allow covert voice activation as well as
being used to detect stress and emotion (because Big Brother cares about
your feelings).During the D11 conference, Dugan predicted that if the
e-tattoo was made to look cool with different artistic designs, young
people would want to have it fused to their skin, “if only to piss off
their parents.”The edible microchip and the wearable e-tattoo are prime

Professor Denies West Coast Radiation Link to Fukushima

A Berkeley nuclear engineering professor has dismissed a viral video
which appears to show unusually high radiation readings on a beach in
San Francisco, asserting it has no link to the ongoing Fukushima crisis
in Japan.As we reported yesterday,
a YouTube clip shows an individual taking radiation readings with a
Geiger counter on a beach south of Pillar Point Harbor in San Mateo
County. The readings show at least five times the normal background
radiation level.Health officials investigated and confirmed the spike but
said they were “befuddled” as to its cause, suggesting that
“red-painted disposable eating utensils” may have been responsible.During an interview with news station KPIX, Berkeley Professor Edward Morse claimed that the video proved nothing.“Someone going around with a Geiger counter is likely to
discover these great variations in levels from time to time,” said
Morse, adding, “That’s absolutely no correlation with anything that
happened in Fukushima.”The clip then shows Morse measuring “rocks” for radiation with a Geiger counter and receiving abnormally high readings.
Despite Morse’s dismissal, experts at the Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems in Spain have concluded that
the plume of radioactive cesium-137 released by the Fukushima disaster
in 2011 will begin reaching U.S. coastal waters in early 2014.KPIX also spoke to Gene Herman of the Berkeley
Fellowship of Unitarian Universalists, who said people should remain
wary of the potential threat posed by radioactive Fukushima debris and
toxic sea water.Whether the ongoing Fukushima crisis poses a genuine
threat to Americans on the west coast or not, official denials that
there is any problem count for very little since authorities habitually
lie about public health crises in the name of preventing panic, an
infamous example being the EPA’s post 9/11 assurance that
