KING JESUS IS COMING FOR US ANY TIME NOW. THE RAPTURE. BE PREPARED TO GO.
US and Japanese sources reported Friday, April 12, that North Korea has warned Japan that Tokyo would be the first target if Pyongyang decided to launch a nuclear attack. This was in response to Japan’s orders to its armed forces to shoot down any North Korean missile that heads toward its territory. Taking the threat seriously, Japan has deployed Patriot interceptors around its capital. Japanese defense officials refused to confirm reports about their naval alert saying they do not want to “show their cards” to North Korea.
On arrival in Seoul Friday, US Secretary of State John Kerry said: “We will stand with South Korea and Japan against these threats. And we will defend ourselves," he said. He rejected the Pentagon's assessment that Pyongyang had probably developed nuclear weapons which could be mounted on ballistic missiles, saying that North Korea had still not developed or fully tested the nuclear capabilities needed for this step.
The White House again insisted Friday that North Korea had not demonstrated a capability to deploy a nuclear-armed missile, evidently intent on having the last word in the debate with the Pentagon on this matter.
debkafile reported earlier Friday:Friday, April 12, the US raised its nuclear alert status to DEFCON 3, Condition Yellow (out of 5 levels), stating “There are currently no imminent nuclear threats against the United States at this time, however the situation is considered fluid and can change rapidly.” Many believe that North Korea will launch their test missile on or about April 15. Japan has instructed its armed forces to shoot down any North Korean missile that heads toward its territory.Contrary to comments from the White House Thursday, the Pentagon reported that “North Korea probably has nuclear weapons that can be mounted on ballistic missiles.” This is a very significant admission by the United States and a dangerous change to the Korean situation.China has mobilized its military and is massing near the border with North Korea. This step was taken after North Korea placed a mid-range Musudan missile ready to launch on its east coast and its “dedication of more facilities at the Yongbon complex to nuclear weapons work.”According to some sources in Washington, the Chinese military mobilization is not directed at deterring Pyongyang but as support for North Korea’s steps. Late Thursday, Representative Doug Lamborn, a Colorado Republican, made a disquieting disclosure. He quoted an excerpt from a Defense Intelligence Agency report expressing “moderate confidence” in the finding that North Korea has nuclear weapons capable of delivery by ballistic missiles whose “reliability will be low.” This disclosure raised a furor in the United States, bringing forth a White House response. The director of national intelligence, James Clapper, released a statement saying that the assessment did not represent a consensus of the nation’s intelligence community [16 agencies in all] and that “North Korea has not yet demonstrated the full range of capabilities necessary for a nuclear armed missile.”Pentagon press secretary George Little backed him up by saying: “It would be inaccurate to suggest that the North Korean regime has fully tested, developed or demonstrated the kinds of nuclear capabilities referenced in the passage.”US Secretary of State John Kerry arrived in Seoul Friday. After meeting South Korean leaders, he travels next to Beijing and Tokyo. In his first comment on the Korean crisis, President Barack Obama said Thursday that now is the time for North Korea to end its belligerence. He said the United States will take ‘‘all necessary steps’’ to protect its people. But Obama also says that no one wants to see a conflict on the Korean Peninsula and would explore all diplomatic options for resolving the crisis.

LIKE GOD TOLD PASTOR PAUL BEGLEY.PRAY THAT NORTH KOREAS ROCKETS FAIL.KIM JONG UN IS NO CRY WOLFER.HE WANTS TO DO SOMETHING.SO WE CHRISTIANS START PRAYING.THAT HIS ROCKETS-NUKES FAIL.THANKS
North Korea has repeatedly said it will not abandon nuclear weapons which it said on Friday were its "treasured" guarantor of security.Kerry's visit coincided with preparations for Monday's anniversary of North Korean state founder Kim Il-Sung's birth date, a possible pretext for a show of strength, with speculation focusing on a possible new missile launch.Kerry, who flies to China on Saturday and to Japan on Sunday, said that if North Korea's 30-year-old leader, Kim Jong-un, proceeded with a launch, "he will be choosing, willfully, to ignore the entire international community"."I would say ahead of time that it is a huge mistake for him to choose to do that because it will further isolate his country and further isolate his people, who frankly are desperate for food, not missile launches."
SHRILL RHETORIC
The North has issued weeks of shrill threats of an impending war following the imposition of U.N. sanctions in response to its third nuclear test in February. Kerry said the threats were "simply unacceptable" by any standard."We are all united in the fact that North Korea will not be accepted as a nuclear power," he said.
Kerry later told U.S. businessmen in Seoul that China, as an advocate of denuclearization, was in a position to press for a change in the North's policy."The reality is that if your policy is denuclearization and it is theirs as it is ours, as it is everybody's except the North at this moment... if that's your policy, you've got to put some teeth into it," he told the gathering. But North Korea showed little inclination for further talks.
North Korean state television showed footage of newscasts from other countries depicting the trajectory a North Korean missile launch might take.It also showed preparations for the Kim Il-Sung birthday festivities, including floral tributes, and a stadium of thousands of schoolchildren of the Korean Children's Union, each wearing a red scarf and saluting and marching in unison.Speculation has mounted of an impending medium-range missile test launch in the North after reports in South Korea and the United States that as many as five medium-range missiles have been moved into position on the country's east coast.Officials in both countries believe the North is preparing to test-launch a Musudan missile, whose range of 3,500 km (2,100 miles) or more would put Japan within striking distance and may threaten the island of Guam, which houses U.S. military bases. The North has been angry about annual military drills between U.S. and South Korean forces, describing them as a "hostile" act. The United States dispatched B52 and B2 stealth bombers from their bases to take part.Hours before Kerry's arrival, a U.S. lawmaker quoted a report by the U.S. Defense Intelligence Agency, one of the 17 bodies that make up the U.S. intelligence community, as saying it had "moderate confidence" that North Korea had developed a nuclear bomb that could be fitted on a ballistic missile. But Kerry poured cold water on the report said it was "inaccurate to suggest that the DPRK has fully tested, developed capabilities" as set down in the document.South Korea's Defence Ministry said it did not believe North Korea could mount a nuclear warhead on a missile.Asked about the U.S. report, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei said Beijing sought "peace and stability on the Korean peninsula and (was) pushing for its denuclearization via talks and consultations. No matter what changes there are in the situation, we will uphold this direction."A U.S. official had earlier suggested that Washington's greatest concern was the possibility of unexpected developments linked to Kim Jong-un's "youth and inexperience". Asked if war seemed imminent, he replied: "Not at all."South Korean President Park Geun-hye, meeting officials from her ruling Saenuri Party before her talks with Kerry, struck a conciliatory note by suggesting Seoul should at least listen to what North Korea had to say."We have a lot of issues, including the Kaesong industrial zone," local media quoted her as saying. So should we not meet with them and ask: "Just what are you trying to do?'"The president was referring to North Korea's closure this week of the jointly run Kaesong industrial park, with the loss of 53,000 jobs.(Additional reporting by Ju-min Park in SEOUL, Sui-Lee Wee in BEIJING, John Ruwitch in SHANGHAI, and Patricia Zengerle, Mark Hosenball and Jeff Mason in WASHINGTON; Writing by Ronald Popeski; Editing by Nick Macfie)

Palestinian Authority officials joined a ceremony on Thursday to lay
the cornerstone for a new museum of “Palestinian culture, history and
society” in Bir Zeit near Ramallah, in yet another effort aimed at
reconstructing history and attempting to strip the Jewish people from
their rights to the Land of Israel.
Organizers told the AFP news agency that the museum would provide Arabs with "a valuable source of information on Palestine and its history".The museum is to be constructed in two phases, the first of which is slated for completion by the end of 2014. It is expected to cost some $20 million (15.2 million euros).
"The museum will not only be for Palestinians but will reach out to the whole world through an advanced digital network," project manager Omar al-Qattan said as ground was broken on the new venture.
"It will be more than a traditional building with archaeological relics. We are looking at an institution that will transcend all boundaries -- geographical and political," he added.Palestinian culture minister Siham Barghuti hailed the beginning of the initiative, calling the museum “a great achievement for the Palestinian people."
"The link between memory and everything related to it, to Palestinian history, and to having digital contact with Palestinians everywhere constitutes an important step," she added, according to AFP.Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas attempted to gain further legitimacy and international recognition by urging the United Nations in November to grant the PA an upgraded status of “non-member” observer state, which was ultimately approved by a vote of 138 to 9, with 41 abstentions.Upon hearing the results of the bid, the Anti-Defamation League issued a statement saying that European nations acted “without courage" and "capitulat[ed] to Arab intimidation and pressure" by voting in favor of, or abstaining from the vote.

The ongoing civil war in Syria spilled into Israeli territory again on Friday evening. The IDF Spokesperson’s Unit said in a statement that , shortly after
8:00 p.m., a barrage of shots from Syria were fired near an IDF force in
the Golan Heights. There were no casualties or damage, said the statement. The soldiers responded by firing missiles at the source of fire. A
direct hit at the target was identified, said the IDF Spokesperson.
Ten days ago, a mortar shell fired from Syria fell on the Golan Heights. No one was injured and no damage was reported. IDF troops were on alert for additional firings.Officials said they did not believe that the shell was fired purposely at Israeli territory, but that it veered off course when it was fired either by Syrian rebels or Syrian army troops, who were engaged in a fierce firefight Tuesday.Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon warned recently that Israel will respond to any shooting or other attacks that cross the northern border with Syria.“Any violation of Israeli sovereignty and fire from the Syrian side will be answered immediately with the destruction of the source of fire when we identify it,” Yaalon declared.(Arutz Sheva’s North American Desk is keeping you updated until the start of Shabbat in New York. U.S. tells North Korea new missile launch would be "huge mistake"
By Arshad Mohammed and Jack Kim | Reuters – 1 hr 3 mins ago APR 12,13
By Arshad Mohammed and Jack Kim
SEOUL (Reuters) - Secretary of State John Kerry warned North Korea on Friday it would be a "huge mistake" to launch a medium-range missile and said the United States would never accept the reclusive country as a nuclear power.Addressing reporters after talks with South Korea's
president and leaders of the 28,000-strong U.S. military contingent in
the country, Kerry also said it was up to China, North Korea's sole
major ally, to "put some teeth" in efforts to press Pyongyang to abandon
its nuclear ambitions.Kerry, like other U.S. officials, played down an
assessment from the Pentagon's intelligence agency that the North
already had a nuclear missile capacity. The United States, he said, wanted to resume talks
about North Korea's earlier pledges to halt its nuclear program, but
would defend its allies in the region if necessary.North Korea has repeatedly said it will not abandon nuclear weapons which it said on Friday were its "treasured" guarantor of security.Kerry's visit coincided with preparations for Monday's anniversary of North Korean state founder Kim Il-Sung's birth date, a possible pretext for a show of strength, with speculation focusing on a possible new missile launch.Kerry, who flies to China on Saturday and to Japan on Sunday, said that if North Korea's 30-year-old leader, Kim Jong-un, proceeded with a launch, "he will be choosing, willfully, to ignore the entire international community"."I would say ahead of time that it is a huge mistake for him to choose to do that because it will further isolate his country and further isolate his people, who frankly are desperate for food, not missile launches."
Rodong Sinmun, the mouthpiece of the ruling Workers'
Party, said Pyongyang would never abandon its nuclear program."The DPRK will hold tighter the treasured sword, nuclear weapons," it said, referring to the country by its official name, the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONSNorth Korean state television showed footage of newscasts from other countries depicting the trajectory a North Korean missile launch might take.It also showed preparations for the Kim Il-Sung birthday festivities, including floral tributes, and a stadium of thousands of schoolchildren of the Korean Children's Union, each wearing a red scarf and saluting and marching in unison.Speculation has mounted of an impending medium-range missile test launch in the North after reports in South Korea and the United States that as many as five medium-range missiles have been moved into position on the country's east coast.Officials in both countries believe the North is preparing to test-launch a Musudan missile, whose range of 3,500 km (2,100 miles) or more would put Japan within striking distance and may threaten the island of Guam, which houses U.S. military bases.
French Senate passes gay marriage bill
– 1 hr 9 mins ago APR 12,13
PARIS (AP) — The French Senate voted Friday to legalize same-sex marriage in France, putting a landmark bill on track to become law by summer. The vote in the upper house of Parliament — led by President Francois Hollande's Socialists — comes despite boisterous protests. Opponents, mostly conservatives and fervent Roman Catholics, have sought to defend traditional marriage.France's justice minister, one of the bill's loudest supporters, said
the reform recognizes that many children are already living with
same-sex parents and deserve the same protections afforded children of
opposite-sex parents.
"These are children that scrape their knees, eat too much candy, don't like broccoli, drive you crazy... we protect them," Christine Taubira told senators following the vote. The justice minister said the reform will "move our institutions towards ever more freedom, equality and personal respect."Both houses of Parliament will now take up a second reading to consider minor Senate changes to the bill passed in February by the National Assembly, also controlled by a Socialist-led majority. Some conservative senators vowed to continue their opposition to the bill."The parliamentary process continues so we will keep talking with the French people who seem to change their position," said UMP party senator Jean-Pierre Raffarin. "So nothing is definitive and the debate continues."Polls have shown a narrow majority of French support legalizing gay marriage, though that support falls when questions about adoption and conception of children come into play. The bill would allow gay marriage and let same-sex couples adopt children. On the campaign trail last year, Hollande pledged to push through such legislation if elected.About a dozen mostly European nations already allow gay marriage.Opponents and supporters of the bill have staged loud demonstrations throughout the bill's passage through Parliament. In mid-January, at least 340,000 people swarmed on the Eiffel Tower to protest the plan to legalize gay marriage, according to police estimates. Two weeks later, about 125,000 proponents of the bill marched in the capital.French civil unions, allowed since 1999, are at least as popular among heterosexuals as among gay and lesbian couples. But that law has no provisions for adoption or assisted reproduction.

Pope meets Vatican administrators ahead of changes at top
Reuters – 20 mins ago APR 12,13
VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Pope Francis held his first meeting on Friday with staff of the Vatican department
that was at the center of last year's scandal over leaked documents
alleging corruption, ahead of expected changes to its leadership. The person he chooses to succeed Cardinal Tarciscio Bertone as head of the Secretariat of State
will be among his most important decisions because he will be
instrumental in helping Francis set the tone for a humbler Church
following a period of scandals.Bertone has been
widely blamed for failing to prevent the many mishaps and infighting in
Church government during the eight-year pontificate of now-retired Pope Benedict.Francis inherited a Church struggling to deal with priests' sexual abuse of children; the alleged corruption and infighting in the Vatican's central administration, known as the Curia; and conflict over the running of the Vatican's scandal-ridden bank.Benedict left a secret report for Francis on the
problems in the administration, which came to light when sensitive
documents were stolen from the pope's desk and leaked by his butler in
what became know as the "Vatileaks" scandal. The basic failings of the Curia were aired, sometimes
passionately, at closed-door meetings of cardinals before they retired
into the conclave that elected Francis.Anger at the mostly Italian prelates who run the Curia
was one of the reasons cardinals chose the first non-European pope for
1,300 years and quashed the chances of one of the front runners, Milan
Archbishop Angelo Scola.Francis greeted
each of the Secretariat of State's 300 staff members individually and
thanked them for their "priceless commitment" to the administering the
1.2 billion-member Catholic Church, a Vatican statement said.Benedict's butler, Paolo Gabriele, was arrested and
sentenced by a Vatican court to 18 months in prison last year but
Benedict pardoned him and he was freed just before Christmas.(Reporting by Philip Pullella; Editing by Alison Williams)
For example, Gabriel underlined that pentecostal Churches in Latin America have been growing at a “breathtaking rate” for a number of years and even in Eastern Asia, including China, charismatic forms of Christianity are on the rise. There are a number of factors encouraging this growth: firstly, “the social and economic upheaval in the Southern hemisphere,” tìin the face of which, these movements give their followers an “identity and meaning,” boosting their self-confidence” and “making people feel at home.”According to Jenkins, this reality cannot be understood without taking into account one fundamental aspect of the new religious movements: they are a sort of “refuge” for people, a “family”, “whose members help each other to overcome difficulties and poverty.” The “miracle” and “healing” factor also plays an important role in contexts where poverty is a cause of deprivation, illness, hunger, pollution, drugs and prostitution.Engaging in dialogue with these new movements is not always easy. In 1972 the Catholic Church launched international dialogue between Catholics and pentecostals. According to Mgr. Juan Usma Gomez, a Pontifical Council pentecostal movement expert, the dialogue initiative helped not only to “overcome prejudices and preconceived ideas” but also to “deal with difficult subjects such as proselytism and conversion.” However, the phenomenon should be considered in broader terms: “The pentecostal and charismatic group is a cross-religion movement that is present in almost all Christian traditions. People have been talking about a pentecostalisation of Christianity for a decade now.”Mgr. Usma says we need to learn to decipher the positives of these new movements – such as their ability to communicate the meaning of God, renewed spirituality, an attractive style that is in tune with the times” - and their negatives - “proselytism, deceipt, promises of spiritual gifts and material prosperity” which sometimes takes advantage of people's “psychological weaknessed and naivety.” What is certain, is that this phenomenon “has hindered Catholics from realising their strength and has made them underestimate their power in attracting others to the faith.”The Catholic Church should not respond to this growth by simply turning its nose up the pentecostal movement, Cardinal Koch warned: “It needs to take this phenomenon seriously. I think this is the main challenge.” And he went on to ask a question: “What are we going to do about it? Why are the members of our Churches, not just the Catholic Church but the Protestant Churches as well, distancing themselves? This is a big question and a great challenge for us.”

Charismatic movement's role in ecumenical dialogue increases
Cardinal Kurt Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for the Promoting Christian Unity, comments on this rapidly-expanding phenomenon
Alessandro Speciale vatican city Since the Second Vatican Council kick-started ecumenical dialogue fifty years ago, the geography of Christianity” has “changed significantly”, with new “ecumenical partners” emerging, that are being grouped under terms such as “new religious movements” and “sects”.Terminological questions aside, according to the President for the Promotion of Christian Unity, Cardinal Kurt Koch, the “primary problem” faced by the Catholic Church in the southern hemisphere, is no longer engaging in dialogue with the historic Christian Churches – from the Orthodox, to the Lutheran to the Anglican Churches – but the relationship with this galaxy of movements :“evangelical, pentecostal and charismatic.” Said movements consider the century-old Christian divisions as a European and even “colonial” legacy – to the extent that these divisions are often ignored and dialogue rejected. In other cases, the “borders” between the various denominations are seen as permeable and not determining, leading to an active promotion of conversion and proselytism.Koch took part in a two-day conference on this underestimated but rapidly-expanding phenomenon, organised in Rome by Germany's bishops. Soem actually spoke of a “boom”: the phenomenon is certainly witnessed across-the-board, in all Christian Churches and is difficult to quantify. It is estimated that Pentecostal Churches have about 400 million throughout the world. As of the year 2000, Professor Philip Jenkins one of the biggest experts on the phenomenon, explained that the number of charismatics and pentecostals across the world is growing at a rate of about 19 million each year. The Centre for the Study of Global Christianity (United States) confirms that back in 2000, there were about 582 million charismatic/pentecostal believers in the world. It is estimated that by 2025 this number will rise to 800 million and that by 2050, there could be as many pentecostals as Hindus in the world. Pope Francis is very familiar with this problem since, in his native Latin America, these new movements are eroding – qite seriously in some cases – the traditional Catholic faith of the majority of the population. In the 90's, the German Bishops' Conference set up a reserach group to study the various existing sects and new religious movements. The idea came from the then President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, Cardinal Walter Kasper. We still “follow the path marked out by Kasper,” today, Koch stated. The starting point of the study was the realisation that globalisation and secularisation had not led to the end of faith as had been predicted in the 60's and 70's. “The long awaited disappearance of religion which had been seen as a dead cert, never materialised. Quite the opposite in fact: there seems to have been a real “boom” in religions across the whole world,” Munster professor, Karl Gabriel, said. Gabriel presented a study carried out in four sample caountries, Costa Rica, Philippines, Hungary and South Africa.
