NASSAU (Reuters) – Hurricane Irene washed away homes in the Bahamas on Thursday as the powerful storm wielding battering winds and rain headed toward the eastern seaboard including densely populated New York and New England.U.S. emergency officials have urged millions of people from the Carolinas north to New England to be on the alert for Irene, now a major Category 3 storm, which is forecast to rake up the coast starting Saturday.New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said the United States' most populous city was bracing to experience at least tropical storm conditions and flooding starting on Sunday from Irene, which could hit Long Island as a Category 2 hurricane.We hope for the best but prepare for the worst, Bloomberg told a news conference, adding some evacuations could be possible. The city is positioning rescue boats and helicopters, working to minimize street flooding and gearing up at hospitals.The city has already seen the power of Mother Nature once this week, and Mother Nature may not be done with us yet,Bloomberg said, referring to the 5.8 magnitude earthquake that shook the East Coast on Tuesday.The northern part of the North Carolina coast went on a hurricane watch in anticipation of Irene's forecast landfall on Saturday evening in the state's eastern Outer Banks barrier islands, which are popular with vacationers in the summer.Weather Underground private forecaster Rob Carver wrote, I think that there is a 75 percent chance Irene's secondary landfall will be somewhere between (New York's) JFK airport and Cape Cod ... Officers said large ships can better weather big storms at sea than in port.

North Carolina authorities have already started evacuations from exposed barrier islands, while residents along the East Coast rushed to stock up on food and water supplies, boarded up windows and secured roofs, vehicles and boats.Irene, which already caused the deaths this week of at least one person in Puerto Rico and two in the Dominican Republic, with others reported missing, was lashing the Bahamas capital, Nassau, with heavy rains and gusting winds on Thursday.On Wednesday, it tore through sparsely populated low-lying southeastern islands in the Atlantic archipelago.The Bahamas newspaper The Tribune reported on its website that on Acklins Island homes have been completely washed away or have lost entire roofs, power lines have been downed and trees are blocking roads.Many residents sought safety in shelters. BUXTON, N.C. – Thousands were fleeing an exposed strip of coastal villages and beaches off North Carolina on Thursday as Irene approached, threatening to become the first major hurricane to hit the East Coast in seven years.Hours after a hurricane watch was issued for much of the state's coast, emergency officials expanded evacuation orders to include hundreds of thousands of tourists and locals in three counties. The areas include the barrier island chain known as the Outer Banks, which is expected to take the brunt of Irene's first hit over the weekend.The governors of North Carolina and Virginia also made emergency declarations to free up storm recovery resources, while the Navy began moving dozens of ships out to sea from ports in Irene's path. And emergency officials all the way to New England were urging residents in low-lying areas to gather supplies and learn the way to a safe location.The storm is expected to come ashore Saturday in North Carolina with winds of around 115 (185 kph). Forecasters predict it will then chug up the East Coast, dumping rain from Virginia to New York City before a much-weakened form trudges through New England.As the sun rose over North Carolina's barrier islands, tourists packed suitcases in their cars, while locals stocked up on food, water and gas. Traffic was moving briskly Thursday morning on the two-lane highway that cuts through many of the coastal communities, but many feared that would change.It's going to be a mess, said 66-year-old Buxton resident Leon Reasor as he stood inside a local bait shop. The Garden State has gotten twice as much rain this month as in a normal August, and high tide happens at 8 a.m. EDT on Sunday, when Irene might be passing by.Early Thursday, the storm was pounding the Bahamas with widespread damage reported on at least two southern islands. In Virginia, with a southeastern corner that could be in Irene's way, cities along the coast are reviewing their evacuation plans, said Laura Southard, spokeswoman for the state Department of Emergency Management.Farther north, precautions so far were mainly wait-and-see as officials watched for developments in the forecast.New York City officials had begun preparations to evacuate residents from low-lying areas of the city if necessary. The city's subway stations and tunnels would likely be flooded in places, and officials plan to shut the system down ahead of time to reduce damage to the infrastructure.Roads and bridges in Massachusetts are likely to bear the weather in good condition, said Peter Judge, a spokesman for the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. But the agency is planning for flooding and is keeping an eye on the 3,000 public and private dams throughout the state.North Carolina's Outer Banks have a long history of hurricanes, and building codes and emergency plans reflect that. Structures in the region are designed to withstand up to 110 mph sustained winds and gusts of up to 130 mph for three minutes. Evacuation routes are meticulously planned, down to the order in which counties hit the road.Some of the region's most popular destinations rely on the ailing Bonner Bridge, which was built in 1963 and intended to last 30 years, to connect Hatteras Island to the northern Outer Banks. There's no other way to reach Hatteras except by boat.The bridge handles about 2 million cars a year and the state DOT ranks it a 2 on its safety meter, with 100 being the highest, or most safe, designation.We're going to shift people and resources around to do what we need to do and keep the roads open, said North Carolina Department of Transportation spokeswoman Nicole Meister. The 2.7-mile bridge won't stay open if it's deemed unsafe — which happened during Hurricane Earl last year — but the state has an emergency ferry terminal ready in that case to get people off the island, Meister said.

Tourists in Buxton were sad to cut their vacations short, but said they understood the urgency of the situation.New Jersey accountant John Robeson brought his wife and children — ages 8 and 4 — down for a week, but their vacation was cut short after three days.I'm disappointed, he said as he loaded his car. New tropical depression forms in the Atlantic

MIAMI – A new tropical depression has formed far out over the Atlantic with forecasters saying it will likely become a tropical storm.The depression's maximum sustained winds early Thursday are near 35 mph (55 kph). But the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami says additional strengthening is expected and it's likely to become a tropical storm later in the day.The depression is centered about 435 miles (700 kilometers) west-southwest of the southernmost Cape Verde Islands and is moving west-northwest near 13 mph (20 kph).Meanwhile farther west, Hurricane Irene is threatening the U.S. East Coast.

Monsoon rains trigger floods, kill 16 in Pakistan

PESHAWAR, Pakistan – Flash floods triggered by heavy monsoon rains swept through a village in northwestern Pakistan, killing 16 people and leaving several others missing, disaster management officials said Thursday.The floods hit the remote Kundian Valley in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Wednesday, destroying houses and other infrastructure, said Syed Asghar Ali Shah, the acting head of disaster management in the province.Rescue operations and relief operations have been hampered by bridges and roads that were damaged last year in the worst flooding in Pakistan's history and have not been fixed, said Shah. Authorities sent two helicopters to help with the operations and hope to send another tomorrow, he said.Heavy rains are expected to continue in the area for at least another 24 hours, according to Pakistan's meteorological department.Monsoon rains begin in July in Pakistan and often lead to flooding. The floods that hit last year inundated about one-fifth of the country — an area the size of the United Kingdom — and affected up to 20 million people.
Experts have warned that many citizens are more vulnerable to flooding this year because they have not recovered from last year's tragedy.

IAF aircraft targeted overnight Wednesday a weapons storage facility in the northern Gaza Strip as well as a smuggling tunnel and weapons manufacturing site in the southern Gaza Strip.The IDF Spokesperson said in a statement that direct hits were confirmed.The sites were targeted in response to the firing of rockets from Gaza at Israel Wednesday evening, said the statement.Gaza-based media sources said that three Palestinian Arabs were seriously injured in the air strike.Gaza terrorists launched at least 16 rocket and mortar attacks at communities across the region on Wednesday evening. Two Israelis were wounded in the night-long barrage, including a baby.A few minutes after midnight, three medium-range Grad Katyusha missiles were fired at Be'er Sheva. The Iron Dome anti-missile system intercepted two of the projectiles, destroying them upon impact. The third landed in an open area on the outskirts of the city. No physical injuries or damage was reported.An hour earlier in Ashkelon a 9-month-old baby was seriously hurt by flying shards of glass when a Gaza missile scored a direct hit on the private vehicle in which she was riding.

The IDF will not tolerate any attempt to harm Israeli civilians and IDF soldiers, and will not hesitate to respond with strength and determination to any element that uses terror against the State of Israel and until calm is restored, the IDF said in its statement.

Iran announced Thursday it is suing Moscow for failing to deliver the S-300 air defense system to Iran, the semi-official Iranian Fars news agency reported.
Iranian ambassador to Russia Mahmoud Reza Sajjadi told reporters the lawsuit had been filed with the International Court of Justice. The Islamic Republic contracted with Russia in 2007 for the delivery of at least five S-300 air defense systems, according to the report.The International Court of Justice, also knows as the World Court, is the judicial branch of the United Nations organization. It operates out of The Hague, Netherlands, where it is responsible for settling disputes between states who have.In 2007, Russia and Iran claimed that UN Security Council Resolution 1929 did not apply to the S-300 system because it was not listed specifically in the text. The resolution, passed on June 9, 2010, imposes sanctions on Iran for harboring a secret nuclear weapons program and failing to comply with requests by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to inspect nuclear facilities. It prohibits economic and military cooperation with the Islamic Republic, thereby prohibiting the sale and delivery of the weapons system.The S-300 missile is not in contradiction with any international commitments of the two sides (Iran and Russia) and the issue is clearly emphasized in the deal, on the other hand the date of delivery of the missile system was two years before the adoption of the UN Security Council recent resolution against Iran, Iranian Minister of Defense Ahmad Vahidi told Azerbaijan's Trend News Agency in October 2010.

Egypt's cabinet said that it was not enough that Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak and President Shimon Peres expressed regret over the incident. According to Maan, Othman said that Israel did not launch a large-scale operation because they fear the Egyptian people’s reaction.The Egyptian side has felt after the Eilat operation that Israel intends to [get] revenge, he said, adding that Egypt sent a strong message to Israel saying it won’t allow an operation to take place.The Eilat terror attacks in which 8 Israelis were murdered had nothing to do with Egypt, Othman said, and investigations are ongoing on both sides.

Gadhafi, in a new audio message, called on Libyans to destroy the rebels.A regime spokesman told The Associated Press Gadhafi is safely in hiding and leading the battle against the rebels.AP reporters on the scene of the battle in the Abu Salim neighborhood said rebels were hammering at least 10 buildings sheltering Gadhafi loyalists with anti-aircraft guns. There were huge explosions, and the air was clogged with smoke. At least three of the buildings were burning.They are holding at least 10 tall buildings. They have heavy weaponry, maybe even a tank, Mohammed Karami, a rebel involved in the battle, said of the Gadhafi loyalists.Mahmoud Bakoush, a rebel commander at the site, said there were rumors that one of Gadhafi's sons might be in the buildings, but they are unconfirmed.Don't leave Tripoli for the rats. Fight them, fight them, and kill them, Gadhafi said in audio message broadcast on Al-Arabiya television. It is the time for martyrdom or victory, he said, calling tribes outside the capital to continue their march to Tripoli. Gadhafi spokesman Moussa Ibrahim, in a call to AP's Cairo office, said the longtime dictator was in Libya and his morale was high. Gadhafi is indeed leading the battle for our freedom and independence said Ibrahim, who was recognizable by his voice.
Ibrahim refused to say where Gadhafi was hiding. Ibrahim, who had for months appeared daily in televised news conferences since the start of the rebellion six months ago, added he himself was in an undisclosed location in Libya and constantly on the move.All of the leader's family are fine, Ibrahim said, adding that top military and political aides remained with Gadhafi.He said Gadhafi was capable of continuing resistance for weeks, months and years.Ibrahim claimed Gadhafi's forces controlled a good portion of the capital — a claim that contradicts what reporters are seeing on the ground — and other cities and towns. He also accused NATO of besieging Gadhafi strongholds such as Sirte.

France calls Libya victory summit, warns Syria

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has called a high-level meeting on Libya's post-Gaddafi future and promised support - but no military action - for opposition forces in Syria.The event is to take place in Paris on 1 September - the 42nd anniversary of the coup which brought Colonel Gaddafi to power.It is to be co-hosted by British Prime Minister David Cameron and to include rebel leaders Mahmoud Jibril and Abdel Jalil, delegates from the 28-country-strong anti-Gaddafi coalition, the Libya Contact Group, as well as states hostile to Western intervention in Libya - China, India, Russia and South Africa.Speaking with Jibril in the French capital on Wednesday (24 August), Sarkozy said Gaddafi's defeat has brought the Western and Arab worlds closer and that he was right to put France fully back into Nato in 2009.

The West and the East are not condemned to confront each other, the people of Europe and Arab people are not condemned to misunderstand each other, he said.The reintegration of France into the principle organs of Nato did nothing to weaken French independnce - on the contrary, since France was, naturally, in the front lines during the military operations [in Libya].Sarkozy ruled out military intervention in Syria due to the lack of a UN mandate. We are steamrolling toward a massive global debt meltdown, and at this point world leaders seem to be all out of solutions. Over the last 30 years or so, the greatest debt bubble in the history of the planet has produced unprecedented prosperity in the western world. But now that debt bubble is starting to burst and the bills are coming due. Many believe that “ground zero” for the coming global debt meltdown will be in Europe. Unlike the U.S. and Japan, the nations of the EU can’t just print more money to cover their debts. Nations such as Greece, Portugal and Italy must repay their debts in euros, and those nations are rapidly getting to the point where their debts are going to overwhelm them. Unfortunately, major banks all over Europe are very highly leveraged and are also very heavily invested in the sovereign debt of nations such as Greece, Portugal and Italy. If even one EU nation defaults it will start tipping over financial dominoes. If more than one EU nation defaults it could cause a cataclysmic wave of bank failures all over Europe.But Germany and the other more financially stable countries of the EU cannot bail out nations like Greece, Portugal and Italy indefinitely. Pouring money into Greece is like pouring money into a black hole. When you take money from financially stable countries and pour it into hopeless messes, you may stabilize things for a little while, but you also cause the financial condition of the financially stable nations to start deteriorating.Right now, the yield on 2 year Greek bonds is up to 44%. Basically, the market is screaming that these are horrible investments and that they will almost certainly default.Greece cannot fire up the printing presses and print more money, so they are now totally dependent on others to bail them out.Just how desperate have things become in Greece? Just consider the following excerpt from a recent article by Puru Saxena….

In Greece, government debt now represents almost 160% of GDP and the average yield on Greek debt is around 15%. Thus, if Greece’s debt is rolled over without restructuring, its interest costs alone will amount to approximately 24% of GDP. In other words, if debt pardoning does not occur, nearly a quarter of Greece’s economic output will be gobbled up by interest repayments! Can you imagine? No nation on earth can afford to pay out nearly a quarter of GDP just on interest on government debt.So just how did Greece get into this position? Well, it turns out that big U.S. banks such as Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase played a big role. The following is an excerpt from a recent article by Andrew Gavin Marshall….In the same way that homeowners take out a second mortgage to pay off their credit card debt, Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan Chase and other U.S. banks helped push government debt far into the future through the derivatives market. This was done in Greece, Italy, and likely several other euro-zone countries as well. In several dozen deals in Europe, banks provided cash upfront in return for government payments in the future, with those liabilities then left off the books. Because the deals are not listed as loans, they are not listed as debt (liabilities), and so the true debt of Greece and other euro-zone countries was and likely to a large degree remains hidden. Greece effectively mortgaged its airports and highways to the major banks in order to get cash up-front and keep the loans off the books, classifying them as transactions.All over the world, politicians love to kick the can down the road, and big Wall Street banks love to find creative ways to help them do that.

But now Greece is about to collapse, and the people that helped them get into this mess will probably never be held accountable.If Greece does default, it is going to have dramatic consequences all over Europe. Sadly, Greece is far from the only problem in Europe. Portugal, Ireland and Italy also have debt to GDP ratios that are above 100%.The biggest potential problem, at least in the near-term, is Italy.Italy is the fourth largest economy in the EU, and lately the financial problems of the Italian government and Italian banks have been making headlines all over the globe.Italy is a far, far larger potential problem than Greece is.The EU can handle bailing out Greece, at least for now.If Italy gets to the point where it needs large bailouts, that is going to bring down the whole system. The EU simply does not have enough money to perform an extensive financial rescue of Italy.As you can see from this chart, the exposure that European banks have to Italian debt is absolutely massive. If Italian debt goes bad, it is going to take down a whole bunch of banks.Not only that, but many believe that the European Central Bank itself is now in some very dangerous territory.It is estimated that the European Central Bank is now holding somewhere in the neighborhood of 444 billion euros worth of debt from the governments of Greece, Italy, Portugal, Ireland and Spain.The financial consequences of a default by one or more of those nations could potentially be catastrophic.According to London-based think tank Open Europe, the European Central Bankis massively overleveraged….Should the ECB see its assets fall by just 4.23pc in value . . . its entire capital base would be wiped out.
That doesn’t sound good.Surely the European Central Bank would be recapitalized somehow, but this is just another example that shows just how dangerous huge amounts of leverage can be.As I wrote about in a recent article about the sovereign debt crisis, if the dominoes begin to tumble in Europe it is going to take everybody down.

The big banks in Europe are leveraged to the hilt, and they are massively exposed to government debt.If you don’t think that this is a problem, just remember what happened back in 2008.Back then, Lehman Brothers was leveraged 31 to 1. When things turned bad, Lehman was wiped out very rapidly.Today, major German banks are leveraged 32 to 1, and those banks are currently holding a massive amount of European sovereign debt.Yes, things could become really nightmarish if the dominoes start to fall.Already we are seeing huge signs of trouble at major banks all over Europe.Major European banks UBS, Barclays, Credit Suisse, RBS, and HSBC have all announced layoffs recently. In fact, when you add them all up, the total number of layoffs announced by these banks just this month is over 40,000. Overall, the grand total of layoffs by European banks so far this year is now up to67,000.The mood in the financial sector over in Europe is very dark right now. Just consider the following excerpt from a recent Bloomberg article….It’s a bloodbath, and I expect things to get worse before they get better, said Jonathan Evans, chairman of executive- search firm Sammons Associates in London. I cannot see a lot of those who have lost their jobs getting re-employed. Regardless of how good someone is, no one wants to talk about hiring. Life will be very difficult for two or three years.Just like back in 2008 with U.S. banks, we are seeing European banks getting absolutely pummeled right now. A recent article in The Sydney Morning Herald documented some of the carnage….The 46-member Bloomberg Europe Banks and Financial Services Index has fallen 31 per cent this year. RBS tumbled 49 per cent, Barclays 44 per cent and France’s Societe Generale 48 per cent.Credit Suisse and UBS both reported a 71 per cent drop in investment-banking earnings in the second quarter. Revenue at Edinburgh-based RBS’s securities unit dropped 35 per cent in the period, while London-based Barclays Capital posted a 27 per cent decline in pretax profit.Things in Europe continue to get worse and worse and worse.Do not take your eyes off of Europe. This crisis is just getting started.Not that there aren’t huge debt problems around the rest of the globe as well.Japan has a national debt that is now over 200 percent of GDP, and they are really struggling to recover from the recent disasters that devastated that nation.

Moody’s has just downgraded Japanese government debt one notch to Aa3, and more downgrades could be coming. For now Japan is still able to borrow huge piles of money very, very cheaply but if that changes Japan could be wiped out very quickly.
Of course the nation with the biggest debt of all is the United States.At the moment, the U.S. national debt is sitting at a grand total of$14,649,289,670,347.85.
Fortunately, the U.S. is also able to borrow massive amounts of money very, very cheaply right now. But when that changes it is going to be absolutely cataclysmic for our economy.Sadly, our politicians continue to act as if this debt binge can go on forever.According to the Congressional Budget Office, the budget deficit for the federal government will be about 1.28 trillion dollars this year. This will be the third year in a row that we have had a budget deficit of over a trillion dollars.To put that in perspective, from George Washington to Ronald Reagan the U.S. government racked up a grand total of about one trillion dollars of debt. But this year alone we will go 1.28 trillion dollars more into debt.At the moment, the U.S. national debt is expanding by about 2 and a half million dollars every single minute. It is hard to put into words how absolutely foolish that is.As I wrote about yesterday, someone needs to wake up America. Our debt is exploding and our economy is dying.
We haven’t even solved the problems caused by the last financial crisis. The real estate market is still a gigantic mess. Purchases of both new and previously existing homes in the United States continue to fall.But there will never be a housing recovery until there is a jobs recovery, and our politicians continue to stand by and watch as millions of our jobs are shipped overseas.Unemployment is rampant, and even many of those that do have jobs are barely able to survive.Back in 1980, less than 30% of all jobs in the United States were low income jobs. Today, more than 40% of all jobs in the United States are low income jobs.That is not a good trend.Sadly, it looks like things are not going to get much better any time soon.Right now, the Congressional Budget Office is projecting that unemployment in the U.S. will remain above 8% until 2014.That should really scare you, because government numbers are almost always way too optimistic. The folks in the federal government hardly ever project that unemployment will actually go up.So if they are saying that unemployment will remain above 8 percent until 2014, the truth is that things will probably be worse than that.We have entered very frightening times. We are on the verge of a massive global debt meltdown, and nobody is sure what is going to happen next.Let us hope for the best, but let us also prepare for the worst.

9/11 After A Decade: Have We Learned Anything?

In a few days it will be the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2001. How well has the US government’s official account of the event held up over the decade? Not very well. The chairman, vice chairman, and senior legal counsel of the 9/11 Commission wrote books partially disassociating themselves from the commission’s report. They said that the Bush administration put obstacles in their path, that information was withheld from them, that President Bush agreed to testify only if he was chaperoned by Vice President Cheney and neither were put under oath, that Pentagon and FAA officials lied to the commission and that the commission considered referring the false testimony for investigation for obstruction of justice.In their book, the chairman and vice chairman, Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton, wrote that the 9/11 Commission was set up to fail. Senior counsel John Farmer, Jr., wrote
that the US government made a decision not to tell the truth about what happened, and that the NORAD tapes told a radically different story from what had been told to us and the public. Kean said, We to this day don’t know why NORAD told us what they told us, it was just so far from the truth.Most of the questions from the 9/11 families were not answered. Important witnesses were not called. The commission only heard from those who supported the government’s account. The commission was a controlled political operation, not an investigation of events and evidence. Its membership consisted of former politicians. No knowledgeable experts were appointed to the commission.One member of the 9/11 Commission, former Senator Max Cleland, responded to the constraints placed on the commission by the White House: If this decision stands, I, as a member of the commission, cannot look any American in the eye, especially family members of victims, and say the commission had full access. This investigation is now compromised.Cleland resigned rather than have his integrity compromised.

To be clear, neither Cleland nor members of the commission suggested that 9/11 was an inside job to advance a war agenda. Nevertheless, neither Congress nor the media wondered, at least not out loud, why President Bush was unwilling to appear before the commission under oath or without Cheney, why Pentagon and FAA officials lied to the commission or, if the officials did not lie, why the commission believed they lied, or why the White House resisted for so long any kind of commission being formed, even one under its control.One would think that if a handful of Arabs managed to outwit not merely the CIA and FBI but all 16 US intelligence agencies, all intelligence agencies of our allies including Mossad, the National Security Council, the State Department, NORAD, airport security four times on one morning, air traffic control, etc., the President, Congress, and the media would be demanding to know how such an improbable event could occur. Instead, the White House put up a wall of resistance to finding out, and Congress and the media showed little interest.

There are Architects and Engineers for 9/11 Truth, Firefighters for 9/11 Truth, Pilots for 9/11 Truth, Scholars for 9/11 Truth, Remember Building 7.org, and a New York group which includes 9/11 families. These groups call for a real investigation.
David Ray Griffen has written 10 carefully researched books documenting problems in the government’s account. Scientists have pointed out that the government has no explanation for the molten steel. NIST has been forced to admit that WTC 7 was in free fall for part of its descent, and a scientific team led by a professor of nano-chemistry at the University of Copenhagen has reported finding nano-thermite in the dust from the buildings.Larry Silverstein, who had the lease on the World Trade Center buildings, said in a PBS broadcast that the decision was made to pull Building 7 late in the afternoon of 9/11. Chief fire marshals have said that no forensic investigation was made of the buildings’ destruction and that the absence of investigation was a violation of law.

Some efforts have been made to explain away some of the evidence that is contrary to the official account, but most of the contrary evidence is simply ignored. The fact remains that the skepticism of a large number of knowledgeable experts has had no effect on the government’s position other than a member of the Obama administration suggesting that the government infiltrate the 9/11 truth organizations in order to discredit them.The practice has been to brand experts not convinced by the government’s case conspiracy theorists. But of course the government’s own theory is a conspiracy theory, an even less likely one once a person realizes its full implication of intelligence and operational failures. The implied failures are extraordinarily large; yet,no one was ever held accountable.Moreover, what do 1,500 architects and engineers have to gain from being ridiculed as conspiracy theorists? They certainly will never receive another government contract, and many surely lost business as a result of their anti-American stance. Their competitors must have made hay out of their unpatriotic doubts. • FDA agents visiting local farmers’ markets and gathering names of possible raw milk providers to be targeted.

• FDA agents calling those targets and trying to convince them to sell raw dairy products by telling sob stories of how they have a baby that can’t breastfeed, and they need raw goat’s milk to keep the baby alive. (This is why most undercover FDA agents are women — they make more convincing social engineers when it comes to issues like finding goat’s milk to feed babies.)

• FDA agents engage in name-dropping of others in the raw dairy community in order to imply trust. In California, for example, they might say, I spoke with Mark McAfee at Organic Pastures, and he told me to talk to you. This technique impresses the target, thinking they have been recommended by a big name in the raw dairy industry. In reality, the whole story is fiction and is just used by FDA spies to try to ensnare other raw dairy producers.

• FDA is building a secret government database of raw dairy customers. This is accomplished by training its spies and agents to demand the confiscation of customer lists from raw dairy farmers. Such lists are then delivered to FDA headquarters in Washington D.C. where they are added to a growing database of names, email addresses and sometimes even home addresses. It is not known what the FDA ultimately plans to do with this list.

• FDA pays huge sums of cash each month to various state agriculture departments, then sends top-level FDA infiltration agents to those states to train state-level agents in these same clandestine techniques. As one example, NaturalNews has learned the FDA currently pays the Wisconsin Dept. of Agriculture more than $80,000 a month for it to spend on these raw dairy spying and infiltration schemes. Shortly after the program was launched, FDA flew several of its top agents to Wisconsin to walk the local farmers’ markets with spies-in-training agents, teaching them spying and infiltration techniques in what was essentially a Raw milk spy camp.

• FDA agents have been well trained and schooled on running elaborate entrapment schemes which are operated with the sole purpose of persuading small, local raw dairy farmers to break the law or violate FDA regulations so that the FDA can justify an armed raid on their farm operation.

• Many millions of dollars (NaturalNews could not get accurate numbers on the total expenditures) are being spent by the FDA on these spying and infiltration programs. None of these programs are reported to Congress. None are reported to the press. These are entirely dark operations conducted behind the scenes, with no official announcements, and with no desire to attract publicity of any kind. They are, essentially, secret wars being conducted against America’s farmers, with no congressional approval whatsoever.

• NaturalNews was told that FDA head Margaret Hamburg is not only authorizing these secret spying operations, but that she took a personal role in structuring the operations so that they would not be made public.
