DOES CASEY GO FREE TODAY

ROMANS 1:21-22,25,29-32
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie,
29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

2 TIMOTHY 4:3-4
3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

Anthony sentenced to 4 years but could be free in weeks Updated: Thu Jul. 07 2011 07:56:14 CTV.ca News Staff

Casey Anthony, the 25-year-old mother who was acquitted of killing her daughter in a sensational trial that grabbed headlines for weeks, has been sentenced to one year for each of four misdemeanor convictions but will likely be free within weeks. She will also have to pay $1,000 in fines for each conviction. The judge said Anthony, who has spent three years behind bars, will be able to go free by late July or early August based on time already served and good behaviour.Anthony was acquitted of first-degree murder charges on Tuesday.Anthony, who kept a stoic face for much of the sentencing on Thursday but could also be seen smiling at times, was convicted of lying to law enforcement officials about what happened to her two-year-old daughter Caylee. Her lawyers argued Thursday to have the four convictions reduced to a single count, since they happened within one continuous conversation. The judge declined to reduce the convictions, however.

Casey Anthony faces many challenges once freed
By Marisol Bello, USA TODAY JULY 7,11

Casey Anthony could walk out of jail a free woman Thursday, but her ordeal is far from over.Casey Anthony is supported Tuesday following her acquittal on murder charges at the county courthouse in Orlando.

In the two days since a jury found her not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, Anthony has become an object of scorn for many who believe she got away with murder. That means Anthony's life is only going to get harder, say legal, media and mental health experts.I suspect she's not going to have a very pleasant life, said Karin Moore, a law professor at Florida A&M University who has watched the case. This will follow her wherever she goes.Anthony was found guilty of four misdemeanor counts of lying to police. Each count has a maximum jail sentence of one year. Anthony, 25, has been in jail for almost three years. It is possible that when Judge Belvin Perry sentences her at 9 a.m., he will sentence her to time already served. On Wednesday, the first juror spoke out about the case. In an interview with ABC News, Jennifer Ford said she and the other jurors cried and were sick to our stomachs after voting to acquit Anthony of charges that she killed her child.I did not say she was innocent, said Ford, previously identified only as juror number 3. I just said there was not enough evidence. If you cannot prove what the crime was, you cannot determine what the punishment should be.The not-guilty verdict shocked many observers, but it was also a difficult moment for the panel, Ford said. No juror talked to reporters in the hours after the verdict.Everyone wonders why we didn't speak to the media right away,Ford said.It was because we were sick to our stomach to get that verdict. We were crying, and not just the women. It was emotional and we weren't ready. We wanted to do it with integrity and not contribute to the sensationalism of the trial. When Anthony is released, she faces challenges.

She will be hounded for interviews. She has to worry that she is a target for those who hate her.Her life could be in danger, Moore said. A lot of people wanted to push the needle in themselves, from reading some of the comments made by people online.NBA star Vince Carter of the Orlando Magic said in his Twitter feed that Anthony should leave the state. He tweeted: Casey might want to move out of Florida like ASAP!! Public opinion aside, Anthony has even the basics to worry about, said Mike Paul, a crisis management consultant. Where will she live? Can she find work?
It's not clear that Anthony could return to the house the single mother once shared with her daughter and parents. During the trial, Anthony's lawyer accused her father of sexually abusing her. The lawyer, Jose Baez, also said Caylee drowned and George Anthony helped cover it up and dispose of the body. George Anthony took the stand to deny the allegations.George and Cindy Anthony left court quickly after the verdict without saying anything to their daughter. Their attorney, Mark Lippman, said the parents received death threats after the verdict. He told ABC's Good Morning America on Wednesday that they hadn't spoken with their daughter.Does she have a family to go back to? Paul said. That's a major question. He said Anthony has to work hard to rehabilitate her image, starting with showing remorse or grief over her daughter's death. She's infamous now, he said. We still forgive people who do the right thing. She can change opinions based on her actions today. The first step, Paul and others say, is to get out of the public eye and seek counseling.Seattle psychologist Gregory Jantz said Anthony's experience puts her at risk of depression, anxiety and panic attacks.

This is a girl who needs help,he said. He said Anthony may turn to addiction or return to the hard-partying lifestyle she led before her arrest as a way to numb her feelings.Jantz said not just Anthony but also her parents and brother need counseling. It's a very dysfunctional family system that could explode,he said.Staying out of the public eye may be hard to do.Jantz said Anthony is likely to get offers to write a book and other media deals to share her story. She can benefit, he said.TMZ.com, a celebrity news website, reported Wednesday that an adult entertainment company offered Anthony a deal to star in porn movies. Later, the site said Steve Hirsch, the chief of Vivid Entertainment, withdrew the offer.Anthony was served a subpoena in jail Tuesday night to give a deposition in a defamation lawsuit filed by a woman named Zenaida Fernandez Gonzalez, CNN reported. Anthony had told police that Caylee had been taken by a nanny named Zenaida Gonzalez. The woman, who sued in 2008, said she had never met the Anthonys. Police said she had nothing to do with the case.Contributing: Associated Press
