CAP & TADE WW1 REPARATIONS

AMERICA (POLITICAL BABYLON)

EZEKIEL 39:21
21 And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.

ISAIAH 18:1-2
1 Woe to the land shadowing with wings, which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:
2 That sendeth ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, saying, Go, ye swift messengers, to a nation scattered and peeled, to a people terrible from their beginning hitherto; a nation meted out and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!

JEREMIAH 50:11,37,12
11 Because ye were glad, because ye rejoiced, O ye destroyers of mine heritage, because ye are grown fat as the heifer at grass, and bellow as bulls;(BACKSLIDERS)
37 A sword is upon their horses, and upon their chariots, and upon all the mingled people that are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is upon her treasures; and they shall be robbed.(A NATION OF MINGLED PEOPLE)
12 Your mother shall be sore confounded; she that bare you shall be ashamed:(MOTHER ENGLAND) behold, the hindermost of the nations shall be a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.

JEREMIAH 51:13,7,53
13 O thou that dwellest upon many waters, abundant in treasures, thine end is come, and the measure of thy covetousness.
7 Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad.
53 Though Babylon should mount up to heaven, and though she should fortify the height of her strength, yet from me shall spoilers come unto her, saith the LORD.

REVELATION 18:3,5,7
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

JEREMIAH 50:3,24
3 For out of the north there cometh up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they shall remove, they shall depart, both man and beast.
24 I have laid a snare for thee, and thou art also taken, O Babylon, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striven against the LORD. (RUSSIA A SNEAK ATTACK ON AMERICA)

REVELATION 18:9-11,15-21
9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,(NUKE ATTACK I BELIEVE)
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
16 And saying, Alas, alas that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!
19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.
21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.

America, Still the beautiful Jue 8,10 By Laurie Roth

The United States of America is still the most, unique, powerful, inspired and freedom loving country on earth.Though our current President, Barack, Hussein Obama continuous to apologize for our country and ignore our Christian heritage, the facts remain the same. The United States of America is a freedom loving miracle that inspires most citizens of the world. America’s early settlers and dreamers started with the hungry vision of having real freedom, so they took on the well armed and powerful, Royal British Empire. In comparison, our patriots taking on the British, with their war ships and fabulous weapons, was like 1st graders with squirt guns and good intentions taking on the high school football team, fully dressed up with a fighting attitude.Through years of vision, sacrifice, prayer and hardship, America was born with her unique and treasured bill of rights, Constitution and Articles of Confederation. The bold, and unique power, forging through every word of her founding documents was and still is the spirit and inspiration of the Living God of the Holy Bible. America’s founders were mostly Christian and they saw the absolute need for God to be at the helm of her moral, legal, cultural and educational structure. America was blessed by God and grew to be the most powerful nation on earth because of that relationship. In fact, congress appointed chaplains for itself and its armed forces and even published the Bible to be sent out to U.S. citizens everywhere. They granted public lands to promote the teaching and preaching of Christianity throughout the country. They viewed the God of the Holy Bible as the country’s leader and protector, not Muhammad, Government structures or royalty.

Since the 1700s America has developed and matured, much like a good person would, with mistakes, achievements and all. However, since the U.S. has always had a skeletal structure, reflecting the Holy Bible and Freedom, it has aired on the side of generosity and giving more than taking and oppressing. Everyone has their lofty opinions and coffee talk about the wars America has found herself in but allow me a brief snapshot of some and the reason behind them. You make up your mind. Did we contribute or did we take from the world? WW1 - America wanted to be neutral but when Germany sank the Lusitania a British passenger ship with many Americans on board, things changed quickly. President Woodrow Wilson still declared U.S. neutrality after 128 Americans were killed in the Lusitania (typical liberal). Hide and talk….hide and talk some more.Germany was desperate to cut off any ships going to and from Britain, so they started attacking passenger and civilian operations. In fact in 1917, British intelligence intercepted a decoded telegram being sent to the Government of Mexico from Germany’s foreign minister, Arthur Zimmerman. This was given to President Wilson. Germany promised Mexico the Southern states again if they allied with Germany against the U.S. Germany was on a mission to control and conquer. The U.S. finally did the only thing they could to stop the growing and surrounding threat of Germany….declare war.

WW2 – Once again, America was in neutral and isolation mode when the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor and nearly wiped out our naval fleet, while most were asleep. Across the world in Europe, Hitler and the Nazis were taking on country after country and wanted to control the world as did Japan. Apparently, Germany didn’t get enough in WW1. WW2 involved, practically the whole world fighting, involved with Germany and Japan or the Allies. This was the most violent and costly war in the history of this world. We had no choice, we had to fight and win against stark evil and we did.The Korean War - The next few decades, America had to face a new, growing evil, communism and its threats. America was afraid and rightly so that with the push of Communist China supporting N. Korea that they would take over all of Asia if we didn’t stand for S. Korea and its freedom. This has often been called the forgotten war but it was critical in the push back of communism and with this chick, it is not forgotten. The Viet Nam war – once again the U.S. got involved in this war to stop the spread of communism in South East Asia. This has to be the most controversial war of our time. Americans got sick of it. The media and political groups turned against it and sadly our troops as they came home. What a horror show awaited our brave, returning Vets! Nevertheless, whether you view this war as a mistake or not, this…..once again slowed down the evil, march of communism. After President Ronald Reagan brought down communist Russia a few pegs, communism took a back seat in the world theatre to the new emerging threat, Islamic radicalism and fundamentalism.Radical Islam has been attacking the West and mainly American interests since the 70s, from cruise ships to our embassies. 9/11 brought their litany of evil and hate to a new level. It also caused the U.S. to once again, though not perfectly, respond at a war level. We started two fronts in our war on terror, in Afghanistan and Iraq. Though, we continue to attack Islamic, radical hot spots and are at war, Islamic radicals poke their evil heads up throughout the Middle East and horrifyingly, peppered even in our own country.

America has taken on 3 major evils in war, Nazi and Japanese totalitarianism, communism and now, Islamic radicalism. We continue to lead the world in taking on evil tyrants that shred human rights and freedom. As the U.S. stature and power has increased around the world so has the sea of criticism against her. She is expected to rescue the perishing, beat up the bad guys and fund everything while dealing with constant and chronic whining from the U.N., progressives and Islamic countries.Chief whiner and apology expert is President Barack Hussein Obama.Facing, confronting and winning against the onslaught of Fundamentalist Islam is the current challenge of our time, especially with a President who was raised a Muslim, sides with Islam, as he stated he would in his own book Audacity of Hope I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction. It is most obvious that our President is siding with Islam. I would ask our President, just what is the ugly direction that caused you to give nearly a billion dollars to the serial killer group, Hamas, in the first month of your leadership and what ugliness caused you to bow low to the Saudi King? America’s brilliance and power lies in her respect and reverence for freedom under God and defined by God, not a contrived and loaned freedom, assigned and controlled by Government.America has been infiltrated and compromised by those who define Government control, cradle to grave. Today, dangerous socialism, fascism, neo-Marxism and communism hide in the garments of progressive democrats who currently control congress and the white house. They must ALL be thrown out! America is still a light on a hill and hope to the world. We will throw the bums in the white house and this congress out and lead again in the way we should and can.We will continue to achieve, protect and inspire.

MUSLIM NATIONS

EZEKIEL 38:1-12
1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog,(RULER) the land of Magog,(RUSSIA) the chief prince of Meshech(MOSCOW)and Tubal,(TOBOLSK) and prophesy against him,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech(MOSCOW) and Tubal:
4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws,(GOD FORCES THE RUSSIA-MUSLIMS TO MARCH) and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.(RUSSIA-EGYPT AND MUSLIMS)
10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.

ISAIAH 17:1
1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

PSALMS 83:3-7
3 They (ARABS,MUSLIMS) have taken crafty counsel against thy people,(ISRAEL) and consulted against thy hidden ones.

5 For they (MUSLIMS) have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:(TREATIES)
6 The tabernacles of Edom,(JORDAN) and the Ishmaelites;(ARABS) of Moab, PALESTINIANS,JORDAN) and the Hagarenes;(EGYPT)

DANIEL 11:40-43
40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south( EGYPT) push at him:(EU DICTATOR IN ISRAEL) and the king of the north (RUSSIA AND MUSLIM HORDES OF EZEK 38+39) shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.(JORDAN)
42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

EZEKIEL 39:1-8
1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog,(LEADER OF RUSSIA) and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech (MOSCOW) and Tubal: (TUBOLSK)
2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts,(RUSSIA) and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands,( ARABS) and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
6 And I will send a fire on Magog,(NUCLEAR BOMB) and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
8 Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.

JOEL 2:3,20,30-31
3 A fire(NUCLEAR BOMB) devoureth before them;(RUSSIA-ARABS) and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army,(RUSSIA,MUSLIMS) and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.(SIBERIAN DESERT)
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.(NUCLEAR BOMB)
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

All Aboard: Muslim Clerics Organize Flotilla to Gaza
by Hillel Fendel JUNE 9,10

The idea of flotillas to Gaza is catching on. Following the notorious terrorist activists’ flotilla of last week, and then one for Gilad Shalit, and another that Turkish Prime Minister Erdogan wants to join, now comes the idea for a Muslim religious leaders flotilla to Gaza.Kuwait’s Al-Watan newspaper reports that wanted terrorist Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi is behind the efforts to organize what is being called the Freedom Flotilla. Qaradawi heads the Union of Muslim Religious Sages, and he has invited its members to take part in the anti-Israel initiative, scheduled for next month.Qaradawi himself, however, will not take part – for fear that Israel will arrest him. Wanted by Israel for years, he has issued religious decrees encouraging suicide attacks against Israeli and American civilians. He is banned from entering the United States and Great Britain.

Al-Qaradwi also heads the Union of Good, an umbrella organization of more than 50 Islamic funds and foundations around the globe that channels money into Hamas institutions in the PA-controlled territories. In January 2008, Israel outlawed 36 associations belonging to the Union of Good - including Turkey’s IHH, which organized the recent terror-activist flotilla to Gaza.Regarding Erdogan’s declaration of intent to take part in a flotilla to Gaza, former IDF Deputy Chief of Staff Gen. (res.) Uzi Dayan says that such an act should be considered an act of war. If he boards a ship on its way to Gaza,Dayan said, Israel must treat his ship the same way it treated the Marmari.(IsraelNationalNews.com)

Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahri Hiding in Sabzevar, Iran
by Sean Osborne, Associate Director

08 June 2010: Yesterday the highly reliable Kuwaiti daily newpaper Al-Seyassah once again published extraordinary intelligence information regarding the location of Osama bin Laden. Confirming the long-term assessment of former American intelligence and counter-terrorism officers Al-Siyassa reports that Osama bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahri and five top Al-Qaeda lieutenants have hiding in the town of Sabzevar, Islamic Republic of Iran for the past five years. This breaking news bulletin has been picked up from Al-Siyassa by MEMRI and Israel’s DEBKAfile.

DEBKAfile Exclusive Analysis June 8, 2010, 12:16 AM (GMT+02:00)

Osama bin Laden’s hiding place was pinned down for the first time Monday, June 7, by the Kuwaiti Al-Siyassa Monday, June 7, as the mountainous town of Savzevar in the northeastern Iranian province of Khorasan, 220 km west of Mashhad. He is said to have lived there under Tehran’s protection for the last five years, along with Ayman Al-Zawahiri and five other high-ranking al Qaeda leaders.debkafile’s intelligence sources disclosed Monday night that Turkish prime minister Recep Erdogan and his intelligence chiefs are well aware that Bin Laden and Zawahiri are hiding in Iran. The leak to the Kuwait paper was intended to show the Obama administration that the Turkish leader’s ties with Iran had grown intense enough for him to be fully in the picture of Iran’s secret sanctuary for the authors of the 9/11 attacks on the United States.Savzevar, a small town of about a quarter of a million inhabitants, is connected by road to Tehran and Mashhad and has a small airport. A center for producing grapes and raisins, its location is remote and difficult to access because it is enclosed by lofty mountains and a salt desert 50,000 square kilometers in area.

On May 13, American intelligence sources reported in detail that senior al Qaeda operatives living in Iran had been allowed to leave the country through Syria to orchestrate terrorist attacks on American targets. Among them was Saif al-Adel, who is believed to have been assigned with planning an attack on the world soccer games opening in South Africa on June 12. Those sources noted that Saif al-Adel had received his instructions directly from Osama bin Laden and Ayman Zawahiri but did not reveal knowledge of their presence in Iran.debkafile’s counter-terror sources disclose that the purpose of airing their precise whereabouts at this time, aside from implicating the Turkish leader, was first, to warn al Qaeda’s leaders that their hideout was blown and they had better move on – which would make them easier to catch; and, second, to nudge US president Barak Obama into a decision to go after them. A rare opportunity may now be building up to capture the world’s most wanted terrorist, debkafile’s counter-terror sources report. Last December, US Defense Secretary Robert Gates acknowledged the United States has not had any good intelligence on bin Laden’s whereabouts in years. Until recently, the elusive master-terrorist was generally thought to have gone to ground in the wilder parts of Pakistan-Afghanistan border region.

Nationalist Russian Israelis Mock Leftist Rally in Tel Aviv
by Malkah Fleisher JUNE 9,10

A recent leftist rally against a Jewish presence in Judea and Samaria in Tel Aviv's Rabin Square was crashed by proud nationalist Russian Israelis who aimed at making a mockery of the event.Hundreds of people congregated on Saturday afternoon against Jewish Judea and Samaria, and in solidarity with Arab residents of Hamas-controlled Gaza and the recent terrorist-laden Gaza aid flotilla. The rally, called The Government is Drowning Us All,was planned prior to the flotilla incident, but co-opted the issue on the day of the march. However, the Sabbath-day event did not go off without a hitch. A large group of secular nationalist Russian Israelis infiltrated their march, holding banners in English and Russian ridiculing the leftists. The nationalists, who were otherwise indistinguishable from the rest of the protestors, held signs including We'll Stab for Peace, We'll make the world abandon reason, We Believe in blah-blah-blah, What the hell am I doing here? and Don't mess with the Zohan, according to a report in the popular blog, The Muqata.

The rally against Jewish Judea and Samaria also witnessed a strong overt counter-rally of other citizens who were infuriated by the nature and timing of the Rabin Square protest.Dozens of supporters of Jewish strength in Israel tried to disrupt the event, and may even have thrown a smoke grenade. Standing opposite a portion of the rally, counter-protestors sang slogans in support of Israeli Navy SEALS and sang Israel's national anthem, HaTikva. They also shouted traitors, go to Gaza, and terror supporters at participants, from behind a blockade of police officers and riot police. UN Security Council Ratifies Fourth Round of Iran Sanctions
by Gil Ronen JUNE 9,10

The United Nations' Security Council ratified a fourth round of sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran on Wednesday in order to stymie its continued attempts to manufacture nuclear weapons.Twelve member states voted in favor of the resolution. Turkey and Brazil voted against it, claiming that the Security Council may not have used up all of its diplomatic options vis-a-vis Iran, and Lebanon – a temporary member of the UNSC – abstained.Russia and China both supported the ten-page resolution, after the United States promised them that their ability to trade with Iran would not be curtailed. The new sanctions were passed after being watered down during negotiations with Russia and China on Tuesday. The sanctions were softened in order to win Russian and Chinese support. They do not include the crippling economic sanctions that the United States had promised last year and that Israel had hoped for. They do include a ban on Iran's purchasing heavy weapons such as attack helicopters and missiles.

Rules on financial transactions with Iran's banks have been toughened. The head of the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency, Javad Rahiqi, has been slapped with asset freezes and a travel ban, as have 40 firms linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and other sections of the military elite. US ambassador to the UN Susan Rice said following the vote that the Security Council has risen to its responsibilities and now Iran should choose a wiser course. These are tough, strong and comprehensive sanctions that will be the most significant of all of the resolutions that imposed sanctions on Iran,Rice said in an interview. The fact that the Iranians have exerted so much effort and spent so much money to block this from coming into effect is one of several indications that they really don't want these sanctions adopted and enacted. I think they share our views, quite frankly, that these are a significant and serious set of new sanctions.(IsraelNationalNews.com)

Israel: Sanctions on Iran Important, But Not Enough
by Gil Ronen JUNE 9,10

Israel's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) expressed its approval Wednesday of the latest round of sanctions passed by the United Nations Security Council against Iran, but said that they were not enough to deter Iran from pursuing its nuclear weapons program.Israel hinted that it expects the UNSC resolution to be followed up by harsher steps by a group of nations with the United States at its head. Otherwise, it warned, The ramifications of the connection between Iran's radical ideology and nuclear weapons will be catastrophic.Israel sees Security Council Resolution 1929 as an important step, which defines clearly once again the demand that Iran comply with international demands: cease uranium enrichment, including enrichment to [a level of] 20%; stop construction of the facility at Qom; cooperate fully with the {International Atomic Energy Agency] inquiry into the military dimension of the nuclear program; and give the agency full access [to its facilities].This is the sixth resolution demanding that Iran cease enrichment and cooperate with the IAEA,the MFA noted.Iran has thus far blatantly flouted all of the resolutions adopted until now, showing blatant disregard for the international community and its institutions. There is great importance to the immediate and full implementation of the resolution.

We must make clear, however, that the resolution in and of itself is not enough. It must be accompanied by meaningful steps in other international forums, and on the national level. Only this kind of sanctions, that will focus on a variety of sectors in Iran, could affect the broad spectrum of Iranian considerations. Large scale and resolute international action... is needed to make Iran clearly see the international community's demands.Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Wednesday that the new UN sanctions would not stop Iran's nuclear program, nor would they harm his country's citizens. These decisions are like a piece of paper that is to be thrown away,he said. (IsraelNationalNews.com)

Islamist conspiracy to kill Weekly Blitz
By Salah Uddin Shoaib Choudhury Monday, June 7, 2010 CFPRESS

When we started our journey, back in 2003, as one of the periodicals in Bangladesh, no one really had any problems with us. We even were receiving advertisements from the local advertisers. But, during mid 2003, when we started publishing positive articles and editorials on Israel and some other issues, which were almost considered to be taboo in Bangladesh, local advertisers swiftly turned away their faces from us.Then I was arrested on November 29 2003, at Dhaka International Airport, on my way to Tel Aviv for attending a peace conference. The then Bangladesh Nationalist Party [BNP]-led Islamist government used the state machinery in placing me on remand for 10 days, thus mentally and physically torturing with the hope of extracted a confessional statement. They considered me to be a Zionist Spy.Later the government sent to an isolated cell at Dhaka Central Jail, where I was detained for 17 months in extreme heat and humidity. In 2004 [January], the government brought sedition, treason and blasphemy charges against me. According to Bangladeshi law, sedition bears capital punishment.I was not allowed to attend my mother’s funeral when she passed away on August 9, 2004.

At the intervention of Congressman Mark Steven Kirk and relentless effort by Dr. Richard L Benkin [my Jewish brother] as well as Congressional aide Jeff Phillip, I was released on bail on April 30, 2005 from Dhaka Central Jail. The sedition, treason and blasphemy charge is still hanging on me and every month I have to appear in the court to face trial. Though Bangladesh’s present government is renewing its commitment in fighting Islamist militancy, it is reluctant in dropping the charge, fearing reaction from the Islamists. On my release, Weekly Blitz resumed its publication in 2005 and since then, we never received even a single advertisement in our print edition. Only two or three advertisements were offered by some philanthropists and my supporters with a small amount of money, which is again not enough for Weekly Blitz to sustain for a week. But, still, my profound gratitude and admiration for those kind hearted people, who stood for us, during our difficult days. From the mid of 2008, Weekly Blitz is again seeing extreme adversities in continuing its publication. In the same year, our office was attacked and we were evicted from our own office, illegally by some politically blessed thugs. Thanks to Dr. Daniel Pipes and Middle East Forum, for helping us in taking a new office just in May this year. The entire amount received from MEF has already been spent for the new office and furniture.Sensing our inability and economic adversities in running Weekly Blitz, a business tycoon with heavy affiliation with an Islamist party offered to buy the entire newspaper with an amount equivalent to US$ 300K. They even continued to offer us much higher amount, if we were ready to sell the newspaper. We knew they were planning to buy Weekly Blitz for turning it into a newspaper like all others in the Muslim nation, mostly spreading message of hatred against Israel and Jews. Their intention was to morally kill our newspaper. We did not bow to such dirty desire of the Islamists.

But, now, our very sustainability has become almost impossible. Each month, we are losing huge amount of money in continuing the print and online edition of this newspaper. For any newspaper, it is absolutely impossible to sustain without any advertisement revenue. Can we expect, some of the philanthropists or organizations, who want this only anti-Jihadist newspaper in the Muslim world to sustain, would kindly help us with advertisements or grants? Such help is so much urgent for us. And, this is for the first time; we are making this appeal to our valued readers through this editorial page. Please help us! And also refer our appeal to everyone you know. This is such critical time for us. Your actions and help can help us stay alive. If you are willing to help Weekly Blitz, kindly write to: ediblitz@yahoo.com

Kyoto - Cap and Trade: Destructive Policies Like WW I Reparations
By Dr. Tim Ball Monday, June 7, 2010 CFPRESS

In a wonderful parody two Australian satirists put the current European and world financial situation in an appropriate Alice In Wonderland perspective. It’s a simple situation compared to the larger, but just as foolish, plans underway with cap and trade to create global socialism. It’s almost trite to quote George Santayana’s Those who do not remember the past are condemned to repeat it.Invariably it is bad politics that repeats.

Secular Retribution: Pay For Your Sins
Selfishness and retribution have undermined the global economy before. Wrong-headed political decisions of the Treaty of Versailles caused economic collapse after World War I. Countries demanded reparations from Germany as part of the 14 points Woodrow Wilson drafted before the war ended. One of the most devastating parts of the Treaty was Article 231, the War Guilt Clause.Germany was forced to accept responsibility for starting the war and required, at French insistence, on paying massive unmanageable reparations. Reparations are defined as making of amends for a wrong one has done, by paying money to or otherwise helping those who have been wronged.Germany was unable to make the payments because the Treaty seriously restricted growth so the US provided the funds. The so-called winners needed money to rebuild and borrowed from US banks. The United States entered World War I late (1917) and emerged as a major creditor and financier of post-War restoration.US banks were more than willing to loan money. However, once US banks began failing ... the banks not only stopped making loans, they wanted their money back. This put pressure on European economies, which had not fully recovered from WWI, contributing to the global economic downturn. (Source)Besides economic disasters, the Treaty of Versailles gave Hitler all the ammunition he needed to rebuild Germany. Under the guise of economic reconstruction and rebirth of national pride, he built the massive war machine that took the world into darkness and destruction. Hitler cannot be absolved his responsibility, but neither can those who, through narrow political views and a desire for retribution and control, provided the opportunity.

Kyoto Accord; Climate Equivalent Of Treaty of Versailles
In a parallel process the Kyoto Accord, the climate equivalent of the Treaty of Versailles, began with the 1992 Rio Conference and was formalized in Japan in 1997. First they established guilt. Recognizing that developed countries are principally responsible for the current high levels of GHG emissions in the atmosphere as a result of more than 150 years of industrial activity, the Protocol places a heavier burden on developed nations under the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities.Rules were adopted for implementation in 2001 and put into action in 2005. Scientists at the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) provided the science for the politicians. The first IPCC Report in 1990 began the false connection between CO2 and global warming. Deception increased with each Report as the leaked emails of the Climatic Research Unit documented.Meanwhile two things are in play. First, the emissions trading scheme or carbon market designed to make nations, who enriched and advanced themselves using CO2 producing energies, pay those who have suffered. The Kyoto Protocol divides the nations into groups through an arbitrary level of CO2 production. Those above can continue above the level but only if they purchase carbon credits from those under the level. The fallacy of the idea is it is designed to reduce CO2 when it actually allows a continuance of use. In reality it’s a naked, unsustainable transfer of wealth. Second, the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) allows above nations to earn saleable certified emission reduction (CER) credits worth one tonne of CO2 each by building an emission reducing project in the ‘under’ nation. This doesn’t reduce CO2 levels either because without the outside investment the project wouldn’t have occurred. It’s a crude form of foreign aid that forces successful businesses to subsidize businesses in the ‘under’ nations giving unfair advantage on world markets. It‘s a bureaucratic delight because it’s an administrative nightmare. They claim, The Kyoto Protocol is generally seen as an important first step towards a truly global emission reduction regime that will stabilize GHG emissions, and provides the essential architecture for any future international agreement on climate change.

The trouble is GHG emissions are not stabilized or decreased and it’s irrelevant anyway because they’re not causing climate change. However, they will destabilize the world economy, just as reparations did after WWI.No nation achieved Kyoto Protocol CO2 reduction targets and the Copenhagen Conference of the Parties was a bust. However, the planning proceeds with the eleventh session of the Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex 1 Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP 11) at the Bonn Climate Change talks in April 2010. Once a bureaucracy is established it’s almost impossible to kill, especially at the UN. It is effectively beyond the control of individual nations, but politicians have no interest in stopping the process. They saw tax and control potential under the guise of saving the planet.Obama Apologizes For US Success, Imposes Penalties On The People.
President Obama pursues the goal of reparations within the US. Americans must be punished for aggression and profligate ways; he believes they have a powerful, successful burgeoning economy at the expense of the rest of the world its resources and the environment. He told the San Francisco Chronicle in 2008, I’m capping greenhouse gases…That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers under my plan of a cap and trade system. Electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. The Congressional Budget Office estimates a 15 percent reduction in CO2 costs $1,400 a year for a family with a $50,000 annual income. No matter how it is done the costs end up with the individual and their ability to pay will diminish as the economy collapses.Solutions are potentially as damaging as those of the Treaty of Versailles. They place the entire US and world economy in jeopardy and will not stop climate change because CO2 is not the cause. Alternative energy is not capable, under current technology, of meeting US requirements and will not reduce CO2 because it requires 100% traditional energy backup. Even with subsidies they are uncompetitive. CO2 is not a pollutant and real pollution levels have declined steadily and would do so faster if money wasted on climate change and subsidizing alternate energies were redirected. US energy independence is readily available with coal, nuclear and natural gas but only if politicians stop playing politics. Ironically and appropriately, it was communist leader Nikita Khrushchev who said, Politicians are the same all over. They promise to build a bridge even where there is no river.

JAMES 5:1-3
1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

REVELATION 18:10,17,19
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

EZEKIEL 7:19
19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

The real Ass Obama should be kicking CFPRESS
By Neil Braithwaite Wednesday, June 9, 2010

The real ##### Obama should be kicking is the icon for his Democrat Party. The Democrat Party beast of burden is foundering under the Obama administration’s heavy burden of an impending $19 trillion debt by 2015, trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see, a 50-day-old oil spill in the Gulf that’s still leaking thousands of gallons a day, almost 10% unemployment with no end in sight, over three and a half million jobs lost since Obama took office, over a trillion dollars in stimulus spending that still hasn’t worked, a Southern border leaking illegal aliens like a sieve, the worst economy since Jimmy Carter, a health care bill nobody wanted with estimated cost overruns already in the billions – possibly trillions, allegations of political bribery pay-offs and cover-ups, all topped by a weak and dangerous foreign policy. And that’s just what’s in the left saddlebag. If Obama is truly looking for some ##### to kick, he doesn’t have to look any further than his own pathetic and incompetent Democrat ##### to start kicking.Maybe he can use a pair of those Texas cowboy boots he inherited from W – I hear they’re great for ##### kickin.

Sarkozy and Merkel tell Brussels to speed up reforms
ANDREW WILLIS 09.06.2010 @ 17:42 CET

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - French President Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel have urged Brussels to speed up proposals for tougher regulation of certain financial products and trading practices. In a two-page letter to European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso, dated 8 June, the two leaders ask the EU executive to come forward with plans to clamp down on naked short-selling and Credit Default Swaps (CDSs) by the middle of next month, rather than October as originally planned.Presenting a united front after months of squabbling on how to solve the eurozone's debt crisis, the two leaders say recent market developments mean there is now an urgent need for the commission to accelerate the pace of its work. At a regular press briefing in Brussels, a commission spokeswoman said the institution would announce proposals during the summer but declined to give an exact date.We consider it [the letter] an expression of support for our general approach, a European approach for the issue of short-selling,said spokeswoman Pia Ahrenkilde-Hansen.I don't see this as a complaint.Germany surprised many last month when it announced a unilateral move to curb naked short-selling of certain financial stocks, sovereign debt and sovereign CDSs. Naked short-selling involves trading in assets that are borrowed rather than owned, while CDSs are insurance-like products that have received criticism for exacerbating Greece's debt crisis.

Although Mr Sarkozy has been vocal on the need for greater market regulation in the wake of the financial crisis, Paris has not followed Berlin's unilateral move, with French finance minister Christine Lagarde saying she was concerned the ban could reduce liquidity in bond markets.Wednesday's letter appears to be an effort by the two sides to bury their recent differences as EU leaders prepare to sit down for a summit in Brussels next week, with the two also scheduled to attend a G20 leaders' meeting later this month.

Bulgaria

In other news related to the financial crisis, the commission has raised a question mark over the validity of data being provided to the EU's statistics office, Eurostat, by Bulgaria. The commission lacks information on why Bulgaria has revised its planned 2010 budget from a balanced budget to a deficit budget ... even though the macroeconomic scenario has remained unchanged or even improved, said the institution's economy spokesman Amadeu Altafaj Tardio on Wednesday. As a result, the institution plans to send a team of officials to Sofia to check the public finance figures being provided by the centre-right government of Prime Minister Boiko Borissov, elected less than a year ago.The commission says it is too early to judge whether the latest changes have been caused by problems of methodology or active political manipulation. In April, Mr Borissov announced that a slew of previously unaccounted-for hidden contracts relating to the previous administration had forced the Bulgarian government to adjust its 2009 budget deficit figure and delay its timetable for joining the European single currency.Bulgaria joined the EU in 2007, only to see a total of €825 million in pre-accession aid frozen by the commission in 2008 amid corruption concerns. Roughly €220 million of the aid was ultimately cut.

US blames EU for Turkey foreign policy drift
VALENTINA POP 09.06.2010 @ 19:18 CET

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS – US defence minister Robert Gates said that the EU's refusal to accept Turkey as a member is partly to blame for Ankara's deteriorating relations with Israel and for pushing the country into the arms of Islamic states, a suggestion firmly rejected by Brussels. The deterioration in the relationship between Turkey and Israel over the past year or so is a matter of concern, Mr Gates told reporters in London. The conservative Turkish government, whose relations with neighbouring Islamic states such as Syria and Iran have grown closer, has meanwhile put on freeze relations with its former regional ally Israel after nine of its citizens were killed by Israeli commandos on an aid flotilla bound for Gaza.I personally think that if there is anything to the notion that Turkey is, if you will, moving eastward, it is, in my view, in no small part because it was pushed, and pushed by some in Europe refusing to give Turkey the kind of organic link to the West that Turkey sought,he argued.Traditionally a strong US ally and the only Muslim member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation since 1952, Turkey has consistently enjoyed Washington's support in its bid EU membership, for which it applied in 1987.

Formal accession negotiations began in 2005, but progress has been slow and Germany and France continue to speak of the alternative of a privileged partnership instead of full membership at the end of the process.A spokeswoman for EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton rejected Mr Gates' suggestion that there is any link between the EU membership negotiations and Turkey's strained relations with Israel. The EU has very good relations with both Turkey and Israel. Turkey is an EU candidate country and Israel an important partner. The bilateral relations between these two countries are not linked with the bilateral relations between the EU and each of these countries,Maja Kocijancic, Ms Ashton's spokeswoman told this website. As far as Turkey is concerned, progress in accession negotiations depends on the progress in reforms taking place in Turkey, she added.Ties between Turkey and Israel have deteriorated in recent years, especially after Tel Aviv's 2008 bombardment of the Gaza Strip that killed some 1,400 civilians and the recent killing of the nine Turkish activists, which prompted Ankara to recall its ambassador, scrap joint military drills and say its relations will never be as before. But Turkey's relations with the US itself have also worsened over the last decade, particularly after its refusal to open its skies to international troops bound for Iraq. Turkish foreign policy chief Ahmet Davutoglu also openly expressed his disappointment at Washington's reaction over the Israeli attack on the aid flotilla, which did not assign blame to the Jewish state and resulted in a watered down reaction from the UN Security Council.

Bilderbuggers

Journalists love the Bilderberg group because it has an air of secrecy and conspiracy. In fact, rather than anything very substantial, it seems to be largely a vanity project – people who think themselves very important gathering in an air of secrecy and conspiracy. Last week in the Commission’s press room there were questions about the possible attendance of José Manuel Barroso.Barroso was not there at the June 3-6 meeting in Sitges, Spain. Three of his colleagues were however: Joaquín Almunia, Karel de Gucht and Neelie Kroes. At least that is what the Bilderberg website says – the group is getting a little less secretive it seems.

For all the secrecy and conspiracy (and public expense of getting the Spanish police out to guard the venue, though apparently Bilderberg refunds any such costs incurred), judging from the list of participants, Bilderberg seems to be a gathering of rather second division VIPs. Almunia, de Gucht and Kroes got to rub shoulders with a number of company CEOs, some journalists, and luminaries such as premier of British Columbia Gordon Campbell, president of Austria Heinz Fischer and Greek finance minister George Papaconstantinou. Er, isn’t rubbing shoulders with these people what the Commissioners do every day anyway? Admittedly there were more important attendees, such as Bill Gates and famous war criminal (according to Christopher Hitchens) Henry Kissenger. Spanish PM Zapatero was there as well.

And of course Bilderberg is chaired by former EU Commissioner and the man who allegedly secretly runs Belgium, Etienne Davignon.Bilderberg justifies its secrecy by stating that participants all attend in a personal capacity and it is therefore not a public event. So no doubt the Commissioners that attended all did so on unpaid days off, and travelled and accommodated themselves for the event at their own expense. This entry was posted on Wednesday, June 9th, 2010 at 10:24 am

Snowmelt-swollen rivers plague Wyoming, Colorado By BOB MOEN, Associated Press Writer – Wed Jun 9, 1:18 am ET

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Rain and a spring heat wave that is quickly melting mountain snowpack have sent rivers rising across the West, washing out small bridges and flooding homes in Wyoming and prompting some rafting companies to halt guided trips in Colorado.Authorities have handed out thousands of sandbags since the weekend. Rain has exacerbated the situation in many places. We don't have a lot of control over it. The city guys and volunteers are working like crazy, Nancy Webber of Lander, Wyo., said in a telephone interview Tuesday afternoon. And hopefully it will peak today or tomorrow and things will get better as the week goes on. But you never can tell.No casualties have been reported. But there were reports of roads and bridges being damaged in eastern Oregon, as well as minor flooding along the Snake River in eastern Washington and north-central Idaho and the Yellowstone in south-central Montana. The Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security on Tuesday declared disaster emergencies in three counties impacted by severe weather and flooding.Fears of flooding near Salt Lake City were alleviated as the flow of Big and Little Cottonwood creeks was slowed. Cooler temperatures eased minor flooding in northern Utah but warmer temperatures were expected to return Wednesday.People were keeping a nervous eye on rising rivers in Colorado, where an Aspen man rafting in the swollen Eagle River drowned over the weekend. In Estes Park, near northern Colorado's Rocky Mountain National Park, some 500 sandbags were handed out Monday to hold back the rising Big Thompson River.

Rivers in west-central Wyoming — where Lander is located — were rising to record or near-record levels. The National Weather Service forecast that area rivers would rise another 6 to 8 inches through Wednesday, 2nd Lt. Christian Venhuizen of the Wyoming National Guard said.Meteorologists were keeping an eye on a storm front that could bring more moisture to the mountains. Federal officials were also closely monitoring area dams, but were confident they were safe, Venhuizen said from Lander, where the Guard has set up a command post.Lander, a town of about 7,000 residents in Fremont County, where the Popo Agie River is out of its banks, has asked residents to conserve water after one of the town's water lines running under the river broke, Webber said.About 100 members of the Wyoming National Guard have been deployed to evacuate people and help bag sand in Fremont County, which Gov. Dave Freudenthal has declared a disaster area. Another 80 Guard members were expected in the area Wednesday. Some 86,000 sandbags have been distributed and another 200,000 were due to arrive late Tuesday. Flood lights were set up so volunteers and others could stuff the bags through the night.Several homes have been flooded and families have moved out, some going to a shelter opened by the Red Cross in Riverton. Venhuizen said there are about 2,100 homes in the affected area, which stretches across roughly 22 square miles. Not all of those homes have been flooded, he said.Flooding was also occurring in south-central Wyoming. The North Platte River in Saratoga, a town of about 1,900 residents in Carbon County, was expected to eclipse its 1957 flood record on Tuesday night. If we were to get 2 to 3 inches of rain every day, this would be what our rivers would look like, but since we live in Wyoming we don't get 2to 3 inches of rain every day,Venhuizen said. The normal flow in our rivers are a lot lower.

More Active Sun Means Nasty Solar Storms Ahead
SPACE.com Space.com Staff space.com – Wed Jun 9, 6:00 pm ET

The sun is about to get a lot more active, which could have ill effects on Earth. So to prepare, top sun scientists met Tuesday to discuss the best ways to protect Earth's satellites and other vital systems from the coming solar storms.Solar storms occur when sunspots on our star erupt and spew out flumes of charged particles that can damage power systems. The sun's activity typically follows an 11-year cycle, and it looks to be coming out of a slump and gearing up for an active period. The sun is waking up from a deep slumber, and in the next few years we expect to see much higher levels of solar activity, said Richard Fisher, head of NASA's Heliophysics Division. At the same time, our technological society has developed an unprecedented sensitivity to solar storms. The intersection of these two issues is what we're getting together to discuss.Fisher and other experts met at the Space Weather Enterprise Forum, which took place in Washington, D.C., at the National Press Club.

Bad news for gizmos

People of the 21st century rely on high-tech systems for the basics of daily life. But smart power grids, GPS navigation, air travel, financial services and emergency radio communications can all be knocked out by intense solar activity. A major solar storm could cause twenty times more economic damage than Hurricane Katrina, warned the National Academy of Sciences in a 2008 report, Severe Space Weather Events—Societal and Economic Impacts.[Photos: Sun storms.]Luckily, much of the damage can be mitigated if managers know a storm is coming. That's why better understanding of solar weather, and the ability to give advance warning, is especially important.
Putting satellites in 'safe mode' and disconnecting transformers can protect electronics from damaging electrical surges. Space weather forecasting is still in its infancy, but we're making rapid progress, said Thomas Bogdan, director of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)'s Space Weather Prediction Center in Boulder, Colo.

Eyes on the sun

NASA and NOAA work together to manage a fleet of satellites that monitor the sun and help to predict its changes.A pair of spacecraft called STEREO (Solar Terrestrial Relations Observatory) is stationed on opposite sides of the sun, offering a combined view of 90 percent of the solar surface. In addition, SDO (the Solar Dynamics Observatory), which just launched in February 2010, is able to photograph solar active regions with unprecedented spectral, temporal and spatial resolution. Also, an old satellite called the Advanced Composition Explorer (ACE), which launched in 1997, is still chugging along monitoring winds coming off the sun. And there are dozens more dedicated to solar science.I believe we're on the threshold of a new era in which space weather can be as influential in our daily lives as ordinary terrestrial weather.Fisher said.We take this very seriously indeed.

Bernanke says recovery on track despite headwinds By JEANNINE AVERSA, AP Economics Writer – Wed Jun 9, 12:39 pm ET

WASHINGTON – The European debt crisis is likely to have only a modest impact on the U.S. economic recovery as long as Wall Street stabilizes, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke told Congress on Wednesday.Testifying before the House Budget Committee, Bernanke struck a more confident tone that the recovery will remain intact despite problems in Europe as well stubbornly high unemployment and a fragile housing market here at home. The economy ... appears to be on track to continue to expand through this year and next, Bernanke said. However, the pace of the expansion — 3.5 percent this year by the Fed's estimate — won't be strong enough to quickly bring relief to the 15 million Americans who are unemployed. The unemployment rate now at 9.7 percent would likely see only a slow reduction,Bernanke warned.Fears have grown in recent weeks that the recovery could be derailed. One worry is if Europe's debt crisis turns into a broader financial contagion, crimping lending in the United States and around the globe. The situation has spooked investors, sending Wall Street into periodic nosedives.Another worry is that hiring in the United States by private companies could stall. That fear was stoked by a government report last Friday, showing that job creation at private companies in May slowed sharply, with businesses adding only 41,000 new jobs, the fewest since the start of the year.

However, Bernanke said signals suggest that the economy will keep on plodding ahead as massive government stimulus fades. Consumers and businesses have picked up the baton from the government and are spending sufficiently to keep the recovery on track, he said. Still, spending by consumers is much more subdued than in the early stages of past economic recoveries. That's why economic growth is expected to be only modest this year, rather than blistering. It appears ... that the recovery has made an important transition,Bernanke told lawmakers. While it can't be entirely ruled out that the country could slide back into a double dip recession, Bernanke predicted that the economy will continue to recover at a moderate pace.Channeling the anxiety many ordinary people feel about the recovery, the panel's chairman, Rep. John Spratt, D-S.C., said: Too many Americans continue to feel the effects of this recession and wonder when ... relief is going to come.Discussing the European crisis, Bernanke also struck a confident tone that the United States would get through the fallout without much damage. If markets continue to stabilize, then the effects of the crisis on economic growth in the United States seem likely to be modest, Bernanke said.Stock portfolios are taking a hit from a rattled Wall Street and weaker economic prospects in Europe probably will sap demand for U.S. exports.

Although such negative forces will leave some imprint on the U.S. economy,Bernanke said there are other more positive forces that will help out the United States. They include low mortgage rates as investors flock to the safety of U.S. Treasurys, and lower prices for oil and other globally traded commodities, Bernanke said. The Fed has pledged to hold rates at record lows to nurture the recovery. Many economists believe the Fed will hold rates near zero when it meets next on June 22-23. And, economists viewed Bernanke's remarks on Wednesday as bolstering their beliefs that the Fed won't start to boost rates until next year — or possibly 2012_ given the European crisis and high unemployment. We will take the actions necessary to ensure stability and continued economic recovery,Bernanke said.Bernanke said European leaders are showing a firm resolve to fight the crisis and restore confidence in financial markets. The Fed will remain highly attentive to developments abroad and their potential impact on the U.S. economy, Bernanke said.On another topic, Bernanke said the Fed and other regulators intend in the next few weeks to tell banks to take steps to make sure their pay practices aren't spurring excessive risk-taking by executives and other employees. A Fed review found that many banks have not modified their compensation practices in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis, Bernanke said. One of the problems that contributed to the crisis was compensation practices that emboldened reckless behavior. The Fed chief also urged Congress and the White House to come up with a plan to whittle down record federal budget deficits. Failing to do so could hurt the economy in the long run, Bernanke said. That's because it can lead to higher interest rates for Americans to buy homes, cars and other things, and make it more expensive for Uncle Sam to service its debt payments. At some point, things will come apart,he warned. We should be planning now for a deficit-reduction blueprint, Bernanke said, adding that Europe's debt problem is a sobering reminder of the need for countries to get their fiscal houses in order.

But he added that radical reductions in spending or big hikes in taxes right now wouldn't be prudent because the U.S. recovery is fragile. And, more assistance may be needed, he said. Bernanke didn't provide details, although Congress is moving closer to extending unemployment benefits. The nation's red ink hit a record $1.4 trillion last year. The recession took a big bite out of tax revenues, while spending rose to stimulate the economy and provide relief to struggling Americans.

SKorean rocket likely exploded soon after liftoff By KWANG-TAE KIM, Associated Press Writer - JUNE 10,10

SEOUL, South Korea – A South Korean rocket carrying a climate observation satellite apparently exploded 137 seconds into its flight early Thursday, the country's second major space setback in less than a year. The two-stage Naro rocket operated normally during and after liftoff from the country's space center, Minister of Education, Science and Technology Ahn Byong-man said. But then communications with the rocket were lost.We believe that the Naro rocket is likely to have exploded, he told reporters. We are sorry for failing to live up to people's expectations. An image from a camera aboard the Naro brightened like a flash of light, possibly evidence of an explosion, Ahn said.He said South Korean and Russian experts were trying to find the cause of the problem. The first stage of the rocket was designed and built by Russia and the second by South Korea.Ahn said that South Korea will begin preparations to announce a new launch date as soon as the cause of the setback is determined. It was not immediately clear where any debris from the rocket fell and there were no reports of injuries. Repeated calls to the ministry and the state-run Korea Aerospace Research Institute went unanswered later Thursday.

The blastoff at the coastal space center in Goheung, 290 miles (465 kilometers) south of Seoul, was the country's second launch of a rocket from its own territory. In the first attempt last August, the satellite failed to reach orbit because one of its two covers apparently failed to come off after liftoff despite the rocket launch itself being considered a success.Since 1992, South Korea has launched 11 satellites from overseas sites, all on foreign-made rockets. The launch was originally scheduled for Wednesday, but was delayed a day because fire retardant suddenly sprayed from three nozzles set up near the launch pad to extinguish any blaze.South Koreans are intensely proud of their country's rise from devastation and poverty after the end of the Korean War as well as their reputation for advanced technology and were closely observing the launch. About 100 people watched it on big screen televisions at Seoul's main railway station. People applauded when the rocket blasted off, though the mood turned anxious after the first news of a problem.South Korea's Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, which oversees the space program, says South Korea plans to develop a space launch vehicle with its own technology by 2020.

China, Japan and India are Asia's current space powers. Japan has launched numerous satellites while China sent its first astronaut into space in 2003 and carried out its first spacewalk in 2008.India launched a satellite into moon orbit in 2008, but had to abandon it nearly a year later after communication links snapped and scientists lost control of it.Despite the series of problems, South Korea wasn't about to give up.We will make further strenuous efforts to realize the dream of space power, said Ahn, the science minister.Associated Press photographer Wally Santana contributed to this report.

Poland warns against eurozone elite
ANDREW WILLIS Today JUNE 10,10 @ 09:23 CET

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has warned that Europe's efforts to step up economic co-ordination in the wake of Greece's debt crisis should not be limited to the collection of states that share the euro currency. Speaking in Brussels on Wednesday (9 June) after the Polish cabinet held meetings with senior EU officials as part of preparations for its EU presidency in the second half of next year, Mr Tusk said non-eurozone states must be treated in an equal manner. As a country that is aspiring to join the eurozone, we would like the eurozone to be a leader but not an exclusive elite within the European Union,he told journalists. The statement is an indication of where Poland stands regarding a French call for greater cohesion of eurozone decision making, driven by regular meetings of the group's leaders and potentially aided by a new secretariat based in Brussels. Poland fears this could lead to a two-speed Europe. It's very important that the European Commission stands up for equal standards for all EU member states, Mr Tusk said.We want a united Europe that can take actions in solidarity for the benefit of the EU as a whole. With the topic set to be discussed at a European Summit in Brussels next week, Germany has also proven to be lukewarm regarding the French proposal, fearing that increased economic decision making by euro area leaders could negatively impact on the European Central Bank's independence.

Monthly meetings of the eurozone's finance ministers are chaired by Luxembourg's prime minister, Jean-Claude Juncker, but widening eurozone difficulties earlier this year prompted two meetings of its leaders, both chaired by European Council President Herman Van Rompuy. Mr Van Rompuy is seen as the most likely candidate to chair the regular eurozone leaders' meetings, were the French proposal given the go-ahead. The Belgian politician is currently leading a 'taskforce' of EU finance officials that will come forward with proposals on greater European economic co-ordination this October. European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso has also previously voiced his opposition to a eurozone economic government aided by a secretariat, saying the creation of new institutions would merely add greater confusion to the current situation. The general framework should be the same for the eurozone as for the non-eurozone countries. We can't have a split in the EU,he said on Wednesday, speaking alongside Mr Tusk. Last month, the commission came forward with its own ideas paper on how the bloc should toughen its budgetary rules and reduce differences in competitiveness between member states. The proposals included a call for the commission and member states to vet each others' budgets before they are passed onto national parliaments for approval. On Monday, Mr Van Rompuy said his taskforce meeting of EU finance ministers had reached agreement on the proposal, only for the UK to issue a strong rejection of the idea the following day.
