NUCLEAR TERRORISM HOW REAL OF THREAT

FALSE TEACHERS,PROPHETS,DECIEVERS

MATTHEW 24:4-5,11,24-25
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 Behold, I have told you before.

1 TIMOTHY 4:1-2
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

MARK 13:22-23
22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.
23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.

2 TIMOTHY 3:13
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.

I can't stand these false preachers like beyond today, United Church of God, The World Tomorrow, Amazing Facts and many more that put down True Christians for believing in the Rapture. These False teachers and preachers can gladly go through WW3 since they do not believe we meet JESUS in the Clouds. They just believe that their bodies meet JESUS on EARTH when he returns to JERUSALEM. These false Christians can decieve themselves but the sad part is many innocent new Christians will believe these falsies.

Read my link RAPTURE FROM NOT THROUGH WW3, and read for yourself if the Bible says we go throught WW3 like these falsies believe.

Wind direction aids firefighters (in Atlanta fires)
Wildfire prevented from crossing U.S. 1
Associated Press: 04/29/07

Waycross —A breeze Saturday helped push a raging wildfire back toward the Okefenokee Swamp, encouraging firefighters who had worked through the night to keep the blaze from crossing U.S. 1 and the tinder-dry forests beyond.Yet the vast wildfire continued to grow, charring nearly 100 square miles or just under 66,000 acres of forest and swampland in southeast Georgia since it ignited April 16.

Firefighters did controlled burns along a 16-mile stretch of the highway, which links Waycross with Jacksonville, Fla., to prevent it from setting ablaze acres of forest beyond the road. The highway remained closed, and residents in nearby communities who were allowed back to their homes were told to be ready to evacuate if the winds shift, said Georgia Forestry Commission spokesman Eric Mosley. In a bit of good news for the weary residents, smoke was blowing away from the towns and into the swampland Saturday morning, Mosley said. Emergency responders also said the 150 firefighters on site have managed to get about half of the blaze under control.I'm ready for it to be over, Jamey Cribbs, 21, said Friday after staying up all night with his father to make sure no burning ash from the fire fell on their home at the edge of the Okefenokee Swamp. It's only been two weeks, but that seems like a lifetime.

Cribbs' family was ordered twice this week to flee their home in tiny Braganza community three miles southeast of Waycross.

More than 100 homes near the swamp had been under evacuation orders early Friday. The nearly 700 firefighters in the area are also battling frustration from 16-hour days trying to tame a fire too vast for them to extinguish.Valdosta firefighter Jeff Thibodeau, who joined the army of firefighters from across Georgia and neighboring states helping fight the blaze near Waycross, spent the night shift Thursday replenishing fire trucks with water. It's aggravating, because you just want to grab it by the throat and put it out, Thibodeau said after coming off his shift Friday morning. This fire is so big, there's not enough water in the state of Georgia to put it out. All you can do is let it run its course in the woods and protect the structures.

EU Grapples With Policy Approach to Terrorism APR 30,07
By BROOKS TIGNER, BRUSSELS

European Union policy-makers, who have long separated domestic- and external-security issues, are finding that this approach hinders attempts to grapple with international terrorism.Among the policy glitches:

There is no coordinated civil-military capability to deal with a crossborder terrorist attack in Europe, and no alignment of national armies to EU homeland security policy. Convoluted voting rules slow decision-making by the 27 EU countries. Cooperation is clumsy among national intelligence agencies, police forces and border protection authorities. There is a lot of [EU] rhetoric about counterterrorist action, but there are huge operational problems on the ground, Annegret Bendiet told a meeting of EU and national officials and security experts here April 17. Where’s any policy on military deployment in case of a domestic [pan-EU terrorist] issue?

Bendiet, a researcher on EU counterterrorism strategy at Berlin’s Stiftung Wissenschaft und Politik, the German Institute for International and Security Affairs, pointed to Check the Web, a recent initiative by the union’s German presidency that calls on the 27 nations to monitor and analyze the Internet for Islamic radicalization and terrorist activity. Some countries are doing this, others have not even started. For whatever reasons technical, legal, budgetary we are looking at possibly years to make this idea work, she said, adding that even within Germany, civil liberty groups oppose the idea and are challenging its constitutionality.Europe’s counterterror agenda has mushroomed in recent years.

According to Bendiet, the union’s December 2005 counterterrorism strategy has engendered 160 horizontal measures spanning everything from the embedding of biometric data in passports to the creation of new agencies responsible for border protection and other security-related tasks. But this program is hampered by two problems. The first is incongruity of decision-making.

EU homeland security initiatives split into those steered by the European Commission in the name of the 27 members as a whole, known as first-pillar decisions, and third-pillar decisions handled on a strict intergovernmental basis among the 27 capitals. Each follows separate legislative approval procedures, whose complexity makes them virtually impossible to explain to the public. The other obstacle is also legal: There is no formal linkage between the 27 EU countries’ third-pillar-based external military and
defense decisions and those of the EU homeland security agenda. In a word, it means the union could not deal seamlessly with a terrorist event that spilled across its international border or within its internal ones.

It’s completely paradoxical, one EU official said April 17. Here we have the 27 [nations] launching one essentially supra-national initiative after another, and yet they still insist on national vetoes and lip service to ‘sovereignty’ that is eroding away with every measure.

Officials from the Council of Ministers bristled at allegations that EU nations were not doing enough. The council directlyrepresents the 27 national capitals. The council’s situation center, which gathers and analyzes intelligence from national authorities, now produces many reports on terrorist activity, and this is coordinated with national experts and operation units across the EU, said Johannes Vos, head of the council’s policy unit for police and customs cooperation. We’re also working closely with each member state to see how they are setting up their counterterrorist structures in all aspects. We all know that fighting terrorism has to be a group effort.

As for closing the European Union’s operational gap between external military defense policy and the internal homeland security agenda, some suggestions have begun to circulate. For instance, France and other continental EU states say national coastal authorities should start working more closely together to protect the common external maritime border. However, as one EU diplomat said, The U.K. is blocking this in the name of national sovereignty. Many of us don’t agree with that attitude.E-mail: btigner@defensenews.com.

Olmert will not resign after report By ARON HELLER, Associated Press Writer APR 30,07

JERUSALEM - A government commission that probed Israel's summer war against Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon accused Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Monday of severe failure, saying he hastily led the country into the conflict without a comprehensive plan. A close aide said Olmert would not resign, despite strident calls for his resignation from coalition partners as well as opponents.A copy of the report obtained by The Associated Press cited a severe failure in the lack of judgment, responsibility and caution.Olmert, after receiving a copy of the panel's findings, said that failures will be remedied.

The report was being officially released later Monday.Olmert and his defense minister, Amir Peretz, who took office with limited security experience less than two months before the war, already had lost much of their public support because of the conflict, launched when Hezbollah guerrillas captured two soldiers and killed three others in a cross-border raid on July 12.Relying heavily on massive airstrikes recommended by the military chief, Lt. Gen. Dan Halutz, Olmert pledged to his people that Israel would crush Hezbollah and force return of the captured soldiers. Neither goal was accomplished, and Halutz already has resigned.

Cabinet Secretary Israel Maimon said the prime minister is not considering resignation. It is right to state as clearly as possible: The report lists difficulties, failures and mistakes by all the leaders, including the prime minister, Maimon told Israel Radio. The question is what do we do now.

Hezbollah pounded northern Israel with nearly 4,000 rockets, halting only when the U.N. Security Council imposed a cease-fire, its short-range rocket capacity intact. Israel launched a late, costly ground offensive with the Security Council nearing completion of its cease-fire resolution. In 34 days of fighting, between 1,035 and 1,191 Lebanese civilians and combatants were killed, as were 119 Israeli soldiers and 39 civilians. The report covers the first six days of the war, when Israel battered Lebanon with massive airstrikes as Hezbollah pounded Israel with rockets. Also, the report looks at developments during the six years that followed Israel's overnight pullout from southern Lebanon in 2000 — tracing the Hezbollah buildup across from the Israeli border.

According to TV reports confirmed by Israeli officials, the commission appointed by Olmert and chaired by a retired judge, Eliyahu Winograd, aims withering criticism at Olmert and Peretz over their decision-making, inexperience and failure to question plans presented by the military. The report also says that Halutz, a former air force commander, did not provide political leaders with a sufficient range of military options, played down the rocket threat and silenced dissenting opinions within the army command, Israeli media said.

The Winograd panel does not have the authority to fire officials, but the scathing report could ignite public protests and demonstrations, coupled with political infighting, that could force the resignation of Olmert and Peretz. Noisy public demonstrations were expected to back demands that they step down.Already Sunday, a demand their for resignations came from Labor Party lawmaker Ofir Pines-Paz, who is challenging Peretz for party leadership in a May primary election. They should follow the example of Halutz, who did not wait for the Winograd commission to show him the door, he said.Opposition lawmakers from the dovish Meretz as well as the hard-line National Religious Party also called for the government to step down.

Olmert's office declined comment until the report's official publication, but aides said Olmert was confident he would weather the storm and that he had no intention of quitting. Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Vice Premier Shimon Peres pledged that the report's findings would be taken seriously.

We shall correct everything that calls for correction, he said. Olmert's popular support is nearing single figures in newspaper polls, mostly because of the Lebanon war, but also because of allegations of his involvement in alleged corruption including real estate deals and undue interference in government transactions to favor friends and backers. Olmert has denied any wrongdoing.

For Zion I will not be Silent. US Rabbis Arrested
by Baruch Gordon (INN) APR 29,07

On April 17, 2007, some 50 Rabbis, students, and laymen staged a sit-in protest calling on the United Nations Secretary General to expel Iran from the international body for its threats to wipe the State of Israel off the map. The protest began with a demonstration at the Iranian mission to the UN, and continued with a march through the streets of New York to the Isaiah Peace Wall. The day begins with a protest at the Iranian Mission to the UN It was under this wall bearing Isaiah's prophecy of world peace that the group of distinguished Jewish leaders acted on the prophet's declaration: For Zion's sake I will not be silent and for Jerusalem's sake I will not be still. In a glaring act of civildisobedience, the US Jewish leaders sat down on the busy New York City sidewalk obstructing pedestrian traffic.

New York City police warned the activists to voluntarily clear the way or face arrest and charges of disorderly conduct. The Rabbis chose the latter option, and one by one, they were handcuffed and hauled away. Three paddy-wagons of rabbis, students, and lay leaders were brought to Central Booking where they joined together in a spirited afternoon Mincha prayer service. They were later released. All streams of American Judaism were represented. In the words of participant Rabbi Mark Ankcorn, There were Orthodox, Conservative, Traditional, and Reform rabbis all in custody for protesting at the UN, and I was proud to be with them.

US President Meets with 2 Top European Union Leaders
By VOA News 30 April 2007

U.S. President Bush (r) meets with German Chancellor Angela Merkel (center) and European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington, 30 Apr 2007 The United States is hosting an annual summit on economic and security issues with two top European Union leaders Monday at the White House.President George W. Bush is holding talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, as Germany currently holds the rotating EU presidency, and with the head of the European Commission, Jose Barroso.

The U.S. and EU leaders are also expected to sign several economic agreements, including an open skies aviation deal aimed at boosting trans-Atlantic commerce. Mr. Bush has refused to commit the United States to limiting its production of greenhouse emissions, saying it would hurt the U.S. economy. The 27-nation EU agreed last month to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in Europe by 20 percent by the year 2020.

Scientists say greenhouse emissions are a key factor in climate changes responsible for global warming.

IDF Chief of Staff: Gaza Ground Offensive is Needed
by Hillel Fendel (INN) APR 30,07

IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi says the only way to stop the Palestinian terrorists from firing Kassam rockets from Gaza into Israel is via an IDF ground operation. He said this to the Cabinet ministers at Sunday's weekly Cabinet meeting. Our helicopters and artillery fire can reduce the Kassam rocket firings, Ashkenazi said, but cannot prevent them completely. The Deputy Head of the General Security Service, who was also present at the Cabinet meeting, said that all the raw materials used to launch Kassams in Gaza, except some Egyptian-made explosives, are smuggled in from Israel via the Karni Crossing. The GSS official also said that Hamas and Islamic Jihad terrorists continue to be trained militarily in Iran and Syria.

Olmert: Restraint Will End

Opening the meeting, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said that Israel will not be able to restrain itself for long in the face of the continued Kassam rocket fire from Gaza. We have no interest in escalating the situation, Olmert said, but we cannot ignore the continued Kassams and the attempts of terrorists to infiltrate into Israel. The Prime Minister said that Israel had warned the Palestinian Authority that though it is not interested in escalation, we will not avoid taking the necessary steps necessary to protect our citizens living in the south.Just last Tuesday, on Independence Day, Hamas unleashed a barrage of rockets and mortar shells on Sderot and environs, causing damage but no serious injuries.

Intelligence sources say the attack was meant to camouflage an attempt to kidnap a soldier and/or a major terrorist attack in the area.

Campaign to Upgrade the Old City's Small Wall
by Hillel Fendel (INN) APR 30,07

Unknown to most visitors to the Western Wall, the remnant of the Holy Temple compound extends to the north far beyond what they can see - and a campaign is underway to publicize this.

The Western Wall is a supporting wall of the Temple Mount complex, on which the two Holy Temples were built approximately 2,850 and 2,350 years ago, respectively. Though it is technically outside the Temple area, it has special sanctity; the rabbinic Sages taught that the Divine Presence would never leave the Western Wall. Of the nearly 500 meters of length of the Western Wall, roughly 200 meters of the southern end [to the right of the worshipers] are easily accessible today - but the remainder is just as sacred. Another 100 meters or so are included in a tour of the Western Wall Tunnels. Above these tunnels, near the Iron Gate entrance to the Temple Mount and on Temple Mount floor level, is an open area facing a short segment of the Wall. This is the area known as the Kotel HaKatan.

One Would Not Know It

Though it is off the beaten track, the Kotel HaKatan is actually slightly more holy than the familiar Western Wall plaza, because of its closer proximity to the Holy of Holies of the ancient Temples.

However, one would not know this upon visiting it - for it is hard to get to, has no trappings of a holy site, and is not even protected 24 hours a day.A no-littering sign is an improvement, but what we really want is a sign saying that this is a holy site and that it should be treated appropriately. An ad-hoc committee named Kotleinu, Our Wall, is working to promote and improve conditions at the Kotel HaKatan. The committee comprises mostly residents of the Old City of Jerusalem who are concerned that the area is not treated with the respect it deserves. The group says that of late, for the first time ever, the Tourism Ministry department in charge of Holy Sites has committed to upkeep the Kotel HaKatan. Deputy Director-General Rafi Ben-Hur acknowledged that the Ministry is responsible for the area, but said that special budgeting must be obtained before this responsibility can be actualized.Despite this, some recent improvements at the site include a police presence during daylight hours, a security camera monitoring the area and the access road, municipality-provided street-sweeping - and even a sign that says Do not litter.A no-littering sign is an improvement, an active Kotleinu member told Arutz-7, but what we really want is a sign saying that this is a holy site and that
it should be treated appropriately.

Prayer Services and Arab Bicycles

Yeshivat HaKotel maintains a daily afternoon prayer service there, and other groups and yeshivot also pray there on Shabbatot. This, despite the fact that there are no chairs or prayer stands at the site; even prayer-books cannot be stored there, as there is no security at night. Sometimes, Arab children pass through there with their bicycles, or Arab women with their shopping bags - reminiscent of the scene of the regular Western Wall up until several decades ago.If the Ministry sees that tourists from both in and out of Israel frequent the place and are interested in it, Kotleinu feels, this will provide an incentive to upgrade it. This is why we have started a letter-writing campaign to this effect.

Kotleinu asks concerned citizens and tourists to join the campaign for improving Kotel HaKatan conditions by visiting the Small Wall and by writing to or faxing (02-6496157) Tourism Minister Yitzchak Aharonovitch.

Guardians of the faith APR 30,07
By Moshe Arens

The holiest sites of Christianity and Judaism, as well as major sacred Muslim sites, are located in the Land of Israel. The major Christian holy sites are in Jerusalem, Bethlehem and Nazareth; the main Muslim holy sites are on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and in Hebron; and the major Jewish holy sites are the Temple Mount in Jerusalem and the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron. All Israeli governments have shown great respect for the Muslim and Christian holy sites and proper deference to the international Muslim and Christian communities, making a great effort to preserve the sites and to assure free access. For some strange reason, this is not true for the sites sacred to religious Jews.

Although great care has been given to the Western Wall and the large plaza built at its foot, the Temple Mount itself is frequently not accessible to Jews. And the Cave of the Patriarchs has been left in the care of the small Jewish community that has reestablished itself in Hebron, and the Muslim religious authorities. It reminds one of the days of the British Mandate, when Jews were not permitted to bring Torah scrolls to the Western Wall or blow the shofar there, or to ascend beyond the seventh step on the stairs leading to the Cave of the Patriarchs edifice.

When Ehud Barak, in the dying days of his ill-fated government, offered Yasser Arafat control of the Temple Mount in the Camp David negotiations without arousing a storm of protest in Israel, this affirmed that preserving and maintaining access to Jewish holy sites was not very high on some Israelis' priority list. Where does this cavalier attitude toward Jewish holy sites, expressed by so many Israelis, come from? It is true that many of these Israelis are secular, and some even are atheist. But why this lack of respect for the religious citizens of Israel and the places they hold sacred, while showing proper respect for the Muslim and Christian holy sites? There seems to be something almost perverse here, possibly in need of psychological analysis. The dislike that many Israelis, especially those on the left, have for the religious Jewish community may very well be at the root of this
phenomenon.

When it comes to the small Jewish community in Hebron, the fury shown by some Israelis has no bounds. They claim the Hebron community should never have been permitted to settle there in the first place; that once they were there, they should have been forcibly evicted; and that this should now be done at the first opportunity. Now that the community has acquired the halfway house between Kiryat Arba and the Cave of the Patriarchs, the drums are being beaten again: Under no circumstances should they be allowed to occupy this structure. Defense Minister Amir Peretz and the entire Labor Party, supported by Meretz, are now pledging to ensure that they do not.

It is true that the thuggish behavior of many in that community is intolerable. Left to their own devices and protected by the Israel Defense Forces, they insult Hebron's Arab residents, throw rocks and damage property. Their unruly behavior shames many Israelis, religious and secular, who value the historic and religious importance of the Cave of the Patriarchs and do not want the 1929 massacre of
Hebron's Jewish community to remain history's final verdict. However, the neglect of Israeli governments and the absence of a clear policy has left this small band of zealots with the task of assuring access to one of the holiest sites in Judaism. As things stand now, if they were not there, Jews would not be able to get even to the seventh step. Let's think again before we decide to throw them out of the halfway house. Let's not throw out the baby with the bathwater.

NUCLEAR TERRORISM: HOW REAL IS THE THREAT?
By Joel C. Rosenberg

(Washington, D.C., April 30, 2007) To answer the question many of you have emailed me about: yes, I am working on another novel, Dead Heat. I'm about half-way done at the moment. I hope to finish it later this summer and, Lord willing, it will release in the spring of 2008. A political thriller set in the midst of a presidential campaign, the novel explores a what if scenario that concerns me more every day: what if a terrorist network or terrorist regime were to actually launch a nuclear attack against the United States? How might they do it? What cities might they target? How would we stop them? How would we retaliate? To develop the most realistic scenario possible, I've been meeting with top military and intelligence experts in the U.S. and the Middle East. While these conversations have been off the record, I can tell you that there is a growing (if reluctant) consensus that it's not a matter of if but when such an attack, or series of attacks, will occur.

In February of this year, for example, James E. Goodby of the Center for Northeast Asian Policy Studies wrote: It's only a matter of time. That's what the experts say when asked whether a terrorist organization might detonate an atom bomb in an American city.

Yossef Bodansky, former director of the U.S. Congressional Task Force on Terrorism and Unconventional Warfare, said in 2004 that the United States is losing the war on terrorism and faces an inevitable al-Qaida attack with weapons of mass destruction that will be worse than 9/11 All of the warnings we have today indicate that a major strike something more horrible than anything we've seen before is all but inevitable.Graham Allison, author of the 2004 book, Nuclear Terrorism, warned: If policy makers in Washington keep doing what they are currently doing about the threat, a nuclear terrorist attack on America is likely to occur in the next decade. And if one lengthens the time frame, a nuclear strike is inevitable. Former Senator Sam Nunn (D-Georgia), once head of the Senate Armed Services Committee, told National Geographic in 2005: Increasingly, we are being warned that an act of nuclear terrorism is inevitable. I am not willing to concede that point. But I do believe that unless we greatly elevate our effort [to secure nuclear materials] and the speed of our response, we could face disaster.

Now ex-CIA chief George Tenet is issuing the same warning, saying al-Qaeda's top priority is obtaining nuclear weapons to attack the U.S. directly.

Excerpts from an L.A. Times story: The main threat posed by Al Qaeda lies in its quest to obtain a nuclear bomb, former CIA Director George J. Tenet writes in his new book. In At the Center of the Storm, Tenet writes at some length about Al Qaeda's attempts to obtain or develop a nuclear weapon.

I am convinced that this is where [Osama bin Laden] and his operatives desperately want to go, Tenet writes. They understand that bombings by cars, trucks, trains and planes will get them some headlines, to be sure. But if they manage to set off a mushroom cloud, they will make history. Tenet details several attempts by the CIA to prevent Al Qaeda from acquiring nuclear weapons. Just weeks before the Sept. 11 attacks, a Pakistani organization, Ummah Tameer-e-Nau, or UTN, had met in Afghanistan with Bin Laden and his deputy, Ayman Zawahiri, to discuss how Al Qaeda should go about building a nuclear device, the CIA was told. Tenet also sketches out details of an attempt by Al Qaeda leaders in Saudi Arabia to buy what he described as three black-market Russian nuclear devices in 2002 and 2003.

EXCERPTS FROM NUCLEAR TERRORISM, by Graham Allison:

--Every day 30,000 trucks, 6,500 rail cars, and 140 ships deliver more than 50,000 cargo containers into the United States, but only 5 percent ever get screened. But even this screening, which rarely involves physical inspection, may not detect nuclear weapons or fissile material.
--There are approximately 130 nuclear research reactors in 40 countries. Two dozen of these have enough highly enriched uranium for one or more nuclear bombs.
--If terrorists bought or stole a complete weapon, they could set it off immediately. If instead they bought fissile material, they could build a crude but working nuclear bomb within a year.
--In Russia, 10,000 nuclear warheads and fissile material for 30,000 additional weapons remain vulnerable to theft.
--Pakistan's black marketers, led by the country's leading nuclear scientist, A. Q. Khan, have sold comprehensive nuclear starter kits that included advanced centrifuge components, blueprints for nuclear warheads, uranium samples in quantities sufficient to make a small bomb, and even provided personal consulting services to assist nuclear development.
