fatal blow to Prime Minister Theresa May’s ailing Brexit deal on Monday,
saying the government could not keep asking lawmakers to vote on the
same deal they have already rejected twice.The government intended to
try a third time to get lawmakers to back the deal, ideally before May
joins EU leaders on Thursday at a Brussels summit where she is set to
ask the bloc to postpone Britain’s departure. May has warned opponents
that failure to approve her Brexit divorce deal would mean a long,
possibly indefinite delay to Britain’s departure from the EU.Speaker
John Bercow scuttled May’s plan, saying that centuries-old parliamentary
rules prevent “the same proposition or substantially the same
proposition” from being brought back repeatedly for votes in a session

additions to its nuclear portfolio were “moving ahead in an excellent
manner,” according to Iranian media reports.“I was in Bushehr two or
three days ago and the Bushehr 2 and Bushehr 3 power plants are being
constructed,” Salehi reportedly said at a cabinet meeting in Tehran.The
project, which will cost more than $8.5 billion and is being built with
Russian assistance, is expected to go online by 2026.Iran’s sole
operational nuclear reactor, also built with Russian assistance,
currently produces 1,000 megawatts of electricity. The new plants will
produce an additional 1,057 megawatts.Western nations do not view the
Bushehr plant as a proliferation risk because Russia supplies the fuel
for the reactor and takes away spent fuel that could otherwise be used
to make weapons-grade plutonium.Earlier this year, Salehi said that Iran
had deceived nuclear inspectors by quietly purchasing replacement parts
for its Arak nuclear reactor while it was conducting negotiations for
an international agreement under which it knew it would be required to
destroy the original components.Salehi recalled that during talks for
the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, the 2015 deal that
lifted sanctions on Iran in return for it dismantling the
weapons-capable parts of its nuclear program, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali
Khamenei warned his country’s negotiators that he expected Western
parties to renege on the agreement.“When our team was in the midst of
the negotiations, we knew that [the Westerners] would ultimately renege
on their promises,” Salehi said. “The leader [Khamenei] warned us that

avoid destroying the bridges that we had built, but we also built new
bridges that would enable us to go back faster if needed.”US President
Donald Trump pulled out of the nuclear deal in May last year but the
other signatories, Britain, France, Germany, Russia, China and Iran have
all agreed to try to keep the pact alive on their own. Trump insists
the original agreement did not go far enough in curbing Iran’s nuclear
weapons ambitions and wants to renegotiate the JCPOA with stricter
terms. In the meantime Washington has imposed heavy sanctions on Iran
that could weaken the ability of the remaining parties to maintain the
deal.Last month Salehi said Iran has begun “preliminary activities for
designing” a modern process for 20-percent uranium enrichment.
Restarting enrichment at that level would mean Iran had withdrawn from
the 2015 nuclear deal.Tehran has in the past warned that if the

last week to discuss the status of the understandings.The committee
organizing the evening protests has said they seek to compel Israel to
lighten its restrictions on the movement of people and goods into and
out Gaza, just as the border demonstrations every Friday since March 30,

that restrictions on movement aim to prevent Hamas from transferring
weapons into Gaza.Dozens of Palestinians in the coastal enclave have

Jordanian lawmaker on Monday praised a Palestinian terrorist who killed
two Israelis in a West Bank attack a day earlier, saluting him for
“killing the Jews” and going on to call Israel’s ambassador “a
descendant of monkeys and pigs,” as the parliament in Amman called to
expel the envoy over tensions at the Temple Mount.“I salute the
Palestinian people and the Jerusalemites… in beloved Palestine,” MP

managed to gain control of his weapon on Sunday morning, before

hit by a bullet fired by the terrorist as he drove by, died Monday.Abu
Laila, who hailed from Zawiya, a Palestinian village in the northern

of Mercy. Palestinians have begun using it as a new mosque, while Israel

Mercy was sealed by Israeli authorities in 2003 because the group
managing the area had ties to Hamas, and it has been kept closed to stop
illegal construction work there by the Waqf that Israeli officials said
caused irreparable harm to archaeologically significant parts of the
holy site.Israeli officials believe the work carried out by the Waqf,
which refused to allow any Israeli observers, has led to the destruction
of antiquities from periods of Jewish presence in the area.The Waqf has

police.Last month, the Waqf reopened the site and Palestinian worshipers
began to use it as a mosque, despite Israeli attempts to keep the area

officer, who was lightly hurt in the attack.On Sunday, the Jerusalem
Magistrate’s Court said the Gate of Mercy building should be closed
while legal proceedings continue.The site’s administrator, the Waqf
religious organization, was given 60 days to respond.The Jordanian
Foreign Ministry rapped the decision, arguing that the Jerusalem
Magistrate’s Court did not even have the authority to rule on matters
pertaining to the Temple Mount because it is “occupied territory.”It
called on Israel to cancel the court’s decision and not harm the status
quo at the flashpoint site.High-level Israeli and Jordanian officials

triggered by torrential downpours in Indonesia's easternmost province
has risen to 89, with dozens of others missing, officials said
Tuesday.Floodwaters and landslides destroyed roads and bridges in
several areas of Papua province's Jayapura district early Sunday,
hampering rescue efforts.National Disaster Mitigation Agency spokesman
Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said the worst-hit area from the flooding was
Sentani subdistrict, where tons of mud, rocks and trees from a landslide
on a mountain rolled down to a river that burst its banks, sweeping
away residents.He said 89 bodies had been pulled from the mud and
wreckage of crumpled homes by Tuesday. Another 159 people were injured,
including 84 who were hospitalized, many with broken bones and head
wounds.The number of dead is expected to rise as rescue workers comb
through affected areas.More than 1,600 rescuers, including soldiers and
police, faced difficulties on Tuesday in clearing huge piles of debris
due to shortages of heavy equipment, said Papua military spokesman Col.
Muhammad Aidi."We face difficulties removing debris and the bodies under
rubble as we don't have enough excavators," Aidi said, adding that
rescuers were searching for 74 people reportedly missing and feared
dead.Nugroho said about 7,000 residents were displaced from their homes,

storm barrelled on to neighbouring Zimbabwe, unleashing fierce winds
