BEIJING (AP) — Authorities in China say they've recovered the bodies of 12 people killed inside a hotel overrun by a landslide.State media reported Sunday that rescuers were able to pull out everyone trapped underneath rocks and debris after the Friday night landslide in Hunan province.The official Xinhua News Agency said 3,000 cubic meters (105,000 cubic feet) of debris tumbled down a slope behind the three-story hotel in Nanzhang county. The largest rock weighed 150 tons. The amount of debris hampered rescuers worried about the rocks caving in or sliding further.The cause of the collapse remains under investigation.Rescuers earlier had pulled five survivors from the debris, two of whom died in a hospital.Hilly and densely populated Hunan is frequently struck by landslides triggered by heavy rainfall.

A Toronto Public Health official says one person was admitted to hospital and nearly 200 have reported becoming sick after an illness at a Humber College residence that began earlier this week.Dr. Michael Finkelstein, an associate medical officer of health, said about 40 people initially visited emergency rooms after students reportedly began feeling ill at Humber College's north campus on Thursday. Another 11 went to emergency rooms overnight and on Saturday morning.Only one was admitted to hospital, but has since been released.Public health officials have not determined a cause for the "cluster of symptoms" but Finkelstein said the sudden illness could be due to a virus."While investigations at this point are more consistent with a virus that is being transmitted from person to person, TPH will continue to investigate over the weekend," he said.30 taken to hospital on Thursday-More than 70 students, all of whom live at one residence on the north campus at Highway 27 and Finch Avenue West, initially fell ill on Thursday night. Originally from Welland, Ont., she is living at the residence affected by the outbreak.Walker has been handing out plastic gloves and masks and making what she calls "easy to digest" soup."People are really stressed out. They are really anxious about it," she said.Some students who fell ill have gone home, but others, whose families live considerable distances away, have not been able to do so, she said. People have not wanted to visit the campus after the outbreak.Walker, who is happy that she has not come down with the illness, said the residence at the north campus is made up of three buildings connected by a cafeteria and dining hall and the buildings have become quiet as students stay in their rooms to recover. The residence has single and shared rooms."It's usually upbeat here, but it's become a very isolated place," she said. "My mother said it's like we're living inside a cruise ship. But all of the students are concerned. LANGLEY, Va. — On his first full day in office, President Donald Trump on Saturday berated the media over its coverage of his inauguration, and turned a bridge-building first visit to CIA headquarters into an airing of grievances about "dishonest" journalists. But it was Trump who spread inaccuracies about the size of the crowds at his swearing in.Standing in front of a memorial for fallen CIA agents, Trump assured intelligence officials, "I am so behind you." He made no mention of his repeated criticism of the intelligence agencies following the election, including his public challenges of their high-confidence assessment that Russia meddled in the White House race to help him win."There is nobody that feels stronger about the intelligence community and CIA than Donald Trump," he said, blaming any suggestion of a "feud" on the media.Trump's decision to travel to CIA headquarters so quickly after taking office was seen as an attempt at a fresh start with the intelligence agencies he will now rely on for guidance as he makes weighty national security decisions. Following his private meeting with top CIA leaders, Trump said the U.S. had been "restrained" in its efforts to combat terrorism, calling the threat "a level of evil we haven't seen."But in unscripted, stream-of-consciousness remarks, Trump appeared more focused on settling scores with the media.He defensively touted the crowd size for his swearing-in ceremony, wrongly claiming that the throngs on the National Mall stretched "all the way back to the Washington Monument." NEW DELHI (AP) — The Dalai Lama said he hopes that President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will work together for global peace.The exiled spiritual leader of Tibetan Buddhists said the world needed leaders with compassion. He made the remarks Saturday at a program in New Delhi organized by the women's chapter of an industry group, according to the press statement.He said the world is moving toward peace and non-violence, and he hopes Trump and Putin will come closer and work toward creating global peace.The Dalai Lama had said in Mongolia in November that he had "no worries" about Trump's election as U.S. president and looked forward to meeting him after he took office. Trump was inaugurated Friday.The Dalai Lama has met former U.S. presidents, including four meetings with Barack Obama. Such meetings anger Beijing, which accuses the Tibetan leader of trying to split Tibet from China. The Dalai Lama says he simply wants a higher degree of autonomy under Chinese rule.The Dalai Lama has been based in India's northern hill town of Dharmsala since fleeing Tibet during an abortive uprising against Chinese rule in 1959.

BEIJING (AP) — Authorities in China say they've recovered the bodies of 12 people killed inside a hotel overrun by a landslide.State media reported Sunday that rescuers were able to pull out everyone trapped underneath rocks and debris after the Friday night landslide in Hunan province.The official Xinhua News Agency said 3,000 cubic meters (105,000 cubic feet) of debris tumbled down a slope behind the three-story hotel in Nanzhang county. The largest rock weighed 150 tons. The amount of debris hampered rescuers worried about the rocks caving in or sliding further.The cause of the collapse remains under investigation.Rescuers earlier had pulled five survivors from the debris, two of whom died in a hospital.Hilly and densely populated Hunan is frequently struck by landslides triggered by heavy rainfall.

It is also cleaning its residences more frequently and distributing water to students.Situation is causing stress, student says-Sarah Walker, 21, a third-year student in the University of Guelph-Humber early childhood studies, said she has not been affected by the illness but has tried to help others who have gotten sick. Originally from Welland, Ont., she is living at the residence affected by the outbreak.Walker has been handing out plastic gloves and masks and making what she calls "easy to digest" soup."People are really stressed out. They are really anxious about it," she said.Some students who fell ill have gone home, but others, whose families live considerable distances away, have not been able to do so, she said. People have not wanted to visit the campus after the outbreak.Walker, who is happy that she has not come down with the illness, said the residence at the north campus is made up of three buildings connected by a cafeteria and dining hall and the buildings have become quiet as students stay in their rooms to recover. The residence has single and shared rooms."It's usually upbeat here, but it's become a very isolated place," she said. "My mother said it's like we're living inside a cruise ship. We're hoping that this passes as soon as possible."Some students who have gotten sick have not eaten residence food, while others have gotten sick even though they are in single, as opposed to shared, rooms, she said."It's on the verge of getting somewhat better. But all of the students are concerned.
