UK nuclear deterrent to cost $256 billion, far more than expected-Reuters By Elizabeth Piper-OCT 25,15-YAHOONEWS

LONDON (Reuters) - The overall cost of replacing and maintaining Britain's nuclear deterrent will reach 167 billion pounds ($256 billion), much more than expected, according to a lawmaker's and Reuters' calculations based on official figures. The Scottish Nationalist Party, which wants Britain's Scotland-based nuclear-armed Trident submarines scrapped, called the sum "unthinkable and indefensible" at a time when deep cuts under the government's "austerity" policies mean "thousands of people across the UK are struggling to afford basics like food".Some military officials also oppose investment in Trident, saying the money would be better spent on maintaining the army and on more conventional technology, which have also faced cuts.Until now, Prime Minister David Cameron's government has said replacing the ageing fleet of four submarines which carry nuclear warheads to provide a continuous at-sea deterrent would cost an estimated 15-20 billion pounds. It has as yet given no official estimate of the cost of its replacement and maintenance. Critics have previously said Britain will need to spend 100 billion pounds, a figure based on a 2014 report by the independent Trident Commission. In a written parliamentary response to Crispin Blunt, a lawmaker in Cameron's Conservative party, Minister of State for Defence Procurement Philip Dunne said on Friday the acquisition of four new submarines would cost 25 billion pounds. He added that the in-service costs would be about 6 percent of the annual defense budget over their lifetime. The total defense budget for 2014/15 reached 33.8 billion pounds and rises to 34.1 billion pounds in 2015/16, according to the ministry." My office's calculation based on an in-service date of 2028 and a missile extension until 2060 ... the total cost is 167 billion pounds," Blunt told Reuters."The successor Trident program is going to consume more than double the proportion of the defense budget of its predecessor ... The price required, both from the UK taxpayer and our conventional forces, is now too high to be rational or sensible."His figure was based on a presumption that Britain will spend 2 percent of its annual gross domestic product (GDP) on defense, as Cameron's government has promised. It also uses existing official government and International Monetary Fund figures, and an assumption of GDP growth of an annual average of 2.48 percent between 2020 and 2060.Using the same figures, a Reuters calculation came to the same sum of 167 billion pounds. Asked about the rising cost, a spokesperson for the British Ministry of Defence said the government had published an unclassified version of a review on alternatives to Trident which "demonstrated that no alternative system is as capable, or as cost-effective, as a Trident-based deterrent"."At around 6 percent of the annual defense budget, the in-service costs of the UK's national deterrent ... are affordable and represent an investment in a capability which plays an important role in ensuring the UK's national security," the spokesperson said."DANGEROUS OBSESSION-The deputy leader of the SNP, Stewart Hosie, took aim at the Conservatives, or 'Tories', saying the new figure showed "just how dangerous the Tories' obsession with nuclear really is"."This is truly an unthinkable and indefensible sum of money to spend on the renewal of an unwanted and unusable nuclear weapons system," he said in a statement. The SNP's popularity has surged since Scots rejected independence in a vote last year, with millions of supporters won over by its anti- austerity message and criticism of Trident. The opposition Labour Party had been a supporter of renewal but its new leader, far-left veteran lawmaker Jeremy Corbyn, an anti-war campaigner, is opposed to the plans. He was widely quoted last month as saying he would not be prepared to use nuclear weapons if he became prime minister.Spiralling costs are likely to reinforce Corbyn's opposition and possibly alarm many in his party who support renewal. The new figures tally with comments this month by Jon Thompson, the top civil servant at the Ministry of Defence, when he described the project to replace the nuclear deterrent as a "monster"."That's the project that keeps me awake at night the most," he told parliament's Public Accounts Committee."It's the biggest project the Ministry of Defence is ever going to take on. If the government were to proceed with renewing the deterrent then in due course that would exceed 5 billion (pounds) a year. That is a significant proportion of the defense budget and it's an incredibly complicated area."He added that it was extremely difficult to estimate what the future costs would be.A final decision on replacing the existing vessels carrying the Trident missiles -- four Vanguard-class submarines -- is due next year and Cameron says he will press ahead with the renewal. In August, the government said it would spend more than 500 million pounds refurbishing its Faslane naval base in Scotland."I think it is right to maintain our independent nuclear deterrent and anyone who has any doubts of it only has to look at the dangers and uncertainty in our world," Cameron told parliament on Wednesday. In a speech last week, Defence Secretary Michael Fallon said global threats meant renewing Trident was vital."I appeal to all moderate MPs (lawmakers), to put our national security first and to support building four new Trident submarines," he said. "Spread across the 30-year life of the new boats, this represents an annual insurance premium of around 0.13 percent of total government spending."(Editing by Dale Hudson and Timothy Heritage)

New knife attacks on Israelis as Al-Aqsa measures announced-AFP By Fran Blandy and Steve Weizman-OCT 25,15-YAHOONEWS

Jerusalem (AFP) - A wave of stabbings left two Israelis wounded and an alleged Palestinian attacker dead Sunday as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to install more security cameras at the flashpoint Al-Aqsa mosque compound in a bid to defuse tensions. In the occupied West Bank a 17-year-old Palestinian girl was shot dead while allegedly trying to knife Israeli border police and two Israelis were wounded in attempted stabbings, police said.Another Palestinian was seriously wounded when he was shot several times by an Israeli settler while picking olives, said Palestinian security sources.Attacks and clashes have become near daily occurrences since simmering tensions over the status of the Al-Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem boiled over in early October, leaving dozens dead. The site is sacred to both Muslims and Jews, making it a powder-keg in the long-running conflict, and Netanyahu on Saturday agreed on new measures to allay Palestinian fears that Israel plans to change rules governing the site.Netanyahu vowed Jews would still be allowed to visit but not pray at the compound and agreed 24-hour surveillance cameras could be installed, adding these were in Israel's interest."Firstly, to refute the claim Israel is violating the status quo. Secondly, to show where the provocations are really coming from, and prevent them in advance," he said.Jordanian King Abdullah II welcomed Netanyahu's pledge "on condition that it is implemented".He said he was convinced this would "put an end to violence, calm tension and I hope it will contribute to reviving efforts to resolve the fundamental questions through negotiations".The last attempt to resolve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict collapsed in April 2014 amid bitter recriminations on both sides.Israel's Defence Minister Moshe Yaalon said that currently cameras film the outside plaza of the compound, but not the interiors of its shrines.- 'A game changer' -US Secretary of State John Kerry has said the cameras would be a "game changer in discouraging anybody from disturbing the sanctity of the holy site".But Palestinians were unmoved."There will not be calm without political prospects to definitively end the occupation," said Nabil Shaath, an official from Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas' West Bank-based Fatah.Palestinians want the status quo to revert to what it was in 2000, when Jordan controlled access and not Israel, which regularly imposes restrictions on Muslim visits.Ties between Israel and Jordan have often been strained by events at the site in east Jerusalem, a majority Palestinian area seized by Israel during the 1967 Six-Day War and later annexed in a move never internationally recognised.Under terms of a 1994 peace treaty, Jordan is recognised as custodian of the Al-Aqsa compound but Israel controls access.Clashes erupted there in September as Muslims protested an increase in Jewish visitors during their religious holidays, some of whom secretly pray there.Similar violence occurred there in 2014 over Jewish visits.- New 'attacks' on Israelis -The Al-Aqsa clashes spiralled into a wave of attacks against Israelis, leaving eight dead since the beginning of October. One Israeli Jew and one Eritrean have also been killed after being mistaken for attackers. On Sunday a Palestinian woman allegedly attempted to knife border police in the West Bank city of Hebron and was shot dead, police said, taking the number of Palestinians killed in attempted attacks and clashes to 53.An Israeli Arab attacker has also been killed."A Palestinian woman acting suspiciously approached border police forces," police said. "She suddenly drew a knife and approached the forces yelling. The forces shot at her and neutralised her,"Eyewitnesses said she was unarmed, however. Two Israelis were stabbed and wounded in separate events in the West Bank. After initially reporting that the Palestinian attackers of a motorist in the West Bank were disguised as ultra Orthodox Jewish men, the army later said reports of the disguise were unconfirmed. And after an Israeli pedestrian was stabbed near the northern West Bank settlement of Ariel, angry settlers blocked a major road junction in protest, Israeli media reported.Israel's Shin Bet security service said in a statement that its agents and the army had apprehended a suspect for the Ariel stabbing, a Palestinian from a village near the West Bank city of Nablus who it said had confessed during interrogation. The attacks have been led by young Palestinians frustrated with life under Israeli occupation and a stalemate in peace efforts, and have not been claimed by any group. But police said an assailant who shot dead an Israeli soldier and wounded about 10 others at a bus station in the southern city of Beersheba "was in contact with Hamas for an extended period" during which he planned the attack. The Palestinian Prisoners Club said more than 1,000 Palestinians and Israeli Arabs, mostly youths, had been arrested since early October.

Kerry plan for Jerusalem site leaves many issues unanswered-Associated Press By JOSEF FEDERMAN-OCT 25,15-YAHOONEWS

JERUSALEM (AP) — John Kerry's latest Mideast mission has aimed for the modest goal of easing tensions around Jerusalem's most sensitive holy site — the focal point of more than a month of deadly unrest. But the steps announced by the U.S. secretary of state over the weekend did little to address the deeper issues behind the fighting, disappointing the Palestinians and raising fears that even if calm is restored, it is just a matter of time before another round of violence erupts.During a swing through the region, Kerry announced the steps on Saturday after several days of meetings with Israeli, Palestinian and Jordanian leaders. The highlight was a Jordanian proposal to install surveillance cameras at the Jerusalem holy site that is known to Jews as the Temple Mount and to Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary.More than a month of violence has been fueled by Palestinian allegations that Israel is trying to change the delicate status quo at the site, which allows non-Muslims to visit but not pray. The hilltop compound, home to the biblical Jewish Temples, is the holiest site in Judaism. Today, it is home to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, the third-holiest site in Islam and a potent Palestinian national symbol. While Israel has repeatedly said there are no plans to change this status quo, the Palestinian fears have been stoked by growing numbers of Jewish visitors, backed by some senior Israeli officials, who seek prayer rights and an expanded presence on the mount.Addressing his Cabinet on Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he "made clear" to Kerry that Israel is committed to preserving the status quo, and he welcomed the plan to install cameras."Israel has an interest in stationing cameras in all parts of the Temple Mount. First, in order to disprove the claim that Israel is changing the status quo. Second, to show where the provocations really come from and to foil them before they ever happen," he said.Israeli officials said the plan was for Israeli police and officials from the Waqf, the Jordanian-backed religious authority that administers the Muslim sites, to have access to footage.Palestinian officials gave the camera plan a cool reception."Netanyahu wants the video cameras just to track our people and arrest them," Palestinian official Saeb Erekat told the Voice of Palestine radio station. Both Israeli and Jordanian officials said arrangements have not yet been discussed in detail, and it was not clear when the cameras would start operating. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the matter with the media. The conflicting claims to the hilltop mount lie at the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and have spilled over into violence in the past. The current round of fighting began last month with clashes between young Muslim men and Israeli security forces, and quickly spread to other parts of Jerusalem, across Israel and into the West Bank and Gaza Strip. In five weeks, 10 Israelis have been killed in Palestinian attacks, mostly stabbings, while 50 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli fire, including 29 said by Israel to be attackers. The violence continued Sunday. In one incident, two Palestinians stabbed an Israeli in the West Bank, wounding him moderately before fleeing, the Israeli military said. The military initially said the attackers were disguised as ultra-Orthodox Jews but later retracted the detail after an investigation, saying it was incorrect.Elsewhere in the West Bank, Israeli police said an officer shot and killed a 17-year-old Palestinian girl who tried to stab him. In a separate incident, a Palestinian man stabbed and seriously wounded an Israeli man near a Jewish West Bank settlement before fleeing. On Sunday, Mohammed Hussein, the mufti of Jerusalem, the top Muslim cleric, gave a rare interview to Israeli media, telling Channel 2 TV that there had never been a Jewish presence at the holy site."The Al-Aqsa Mosque was there 3,000 years ago, and 30,000 years ago and when the world was created," he said. "It was never anything other than a mosque."Netanyahu has said the stabbings are the result of Palestinian incitement and pointed to comments like the mufti's. But Palestinians say the violence is the result of deep frustrations after nearly 50 years of Israeli occupation, years of failed peace efforts and a lack of hope for gaining independence. In his public comments Saturday, Kerry gave no indication that the Obama administration has any plans to re-launch peace efforts during its final year in office, though the so-called Quartet, a U.S.-led group of international Mideast mediators, is to send a delegation to the region in the near future.During Saturday's meeting with Kerry, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas raised a number of concerns, including continued Israeli settlement construction on occupied lands claimed by the Palestinians and their demand for an independent state in the West Bank, east Jerusalem and Gaza — lands captured by Israel in the 1967 Mideast war. The Palestinians are seeking a U.N. Security Council resolution endorsing their positions, along with a timeline for establishment of an independent state.Palestinians said they were waiting to see whether the arrangements announced by Kerry would change the situation on the ground. On Friday, Israel lifted age restrictions barring young men from joining prayers at the mosque, a key source of tension, and prayers passed without incident. Palestinians also want to see whether Israeli will remove checkpoints and roadblocks placed in Arab neighborhoods in Jerusalem in recent weeks."I think people are still confused about what Netanyahu is up to, and we don't know what the coming days will bring," said Ahmad Rweidi, Abbas' adviser on Jerusalem affairs.Palestinian political scientist George Giacaman said that while Kerry may succeed in easing the latest tensions, a broader political solution is needed. "We are heading toward collision and confrontations," he said.Nathan Thrall, an analyst with the International Crisis Group, said there were no guarantees that Kerry's efforts would even get the latest violence to subside. But he said the U.S. has signaled that it may take one last push at advancing peace."We haven't seen the end of the Obama administration's involvement or efforts in this conflict," he said. "I think there is a good chance that the U.S. will wind up doing something ... before the end of Obama's term.

Oklahoma parade crash suspect charged with four counts of murder-Reuters By Lenzy Krehbiel-Burton-OCT 25,15-YAHOONEWS

STILLWATER, Okla. (Reuters) - An Oklahoma woman was charged on Sunday with four counts of second-degree murder a day after she allegedly crashed the car she was driving into a crowd at an Oklahoma State University homecoming parade, killing four people and injuring dozens, police said.Adacia Avery Chambers, 25, allegedly drove a gray Hyundai Elantra into a throng watching Saturday's Oklahoma State University homecoming parade in Stillwater, about 65 miles (105 km) southwest of Oklahoma City.Three adults and a toddler were killed and dozens were injured. Police said they suspected she was intoxicated. Her lawyer, Tony Coleman, told The Oklahoman newspaper he believes his client is mentally ill and doubted she was drunk at the time of the crash."I don't believe right now that she was intoxicated,” Coleman told the newspaper. “I have deep concerns about her competency at this point. I'm not a psychologist or psychiatrist, but I can tell you she's suffering from mental illness,” Coleman said.Reuters could not immediately reach the attorney. She was expected to make an initial appearance in Payne County District Court on Monday afternoon, police said.About four dozen people were injured in the incident, five of them critically.A man who was watching the parade with his family said the crash sounded like a bomb went off, transformed a festive mood into one of horror."All I remember was a gush of wind and then the sound," Mark McNitt said at a news conference, recalling when the vehicle jumped the curb, mowing down dozens of men, women and children."The only thing I can relate it to is some type of bombing," said McNitt, whose father-in-law Leo Schmitz, 54, was critically injured. "The screaming ... and a lot of screaming."Police were awaiting results of a blood test administered to Chambers after the crash.Police said Chambers lives in Stillwater, but did not appear to be an OSU student. She worked at Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers in Stillwater, her employer said.Floyd Chambers, 47, her father, earlier told The Oklahoman his daughter lived with her boyfriend in Stillwater. He described her as timid and not an alcoholic.“They’re going to paint her into a horrible person but this is not (her),” he told the paper. In a statement on Sunday, police identified the three adults who were killed as Nakita Prabhakar, 23, of Edmond, Oklahoma; Bonnie Jean Stone, 65; and Marvin Lyle Stone, 65, both of Stillwater. They were all pronounced dead at the scene.A toddler died later Saturday, police said. Family members identified him as Nash Lucas, according to KOTV, a local television station.Prabhakar, originally from Mumbai, India, was a graduate business student at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond, the school said, identifying her as Nikita Nakal. The school could not immediately be reached to clarify the discrepancy.Stone was a professor of agricultural engineering at OSU, according to the school's website. He retired in 2006 and founded the Marvin and Bonnie Stone Endowed Scholarship Fund with his wife the following year.. In Hurricane Patricia's wake, heavy rains move toward Louisiana-Reuters By Amanda Orr-OCT 25,15-YAHOONEWS

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Torrential rains pounded southeastern Texas on Sunday as the remnants of Hurricane Patricia converged with a second storm system, but the area that is home to more than six million people and the center of the U.S. refinery industry sustained little damage.More than 9 inches (23 cm) of rain swelled rivers and flooded roads in parts of the Houston area, but no injuries or deaths were reported as of Sunday morning as flash flood warnings ended and storms targeted southwest Louisiana."Expect rain all day, but (the) storm has largely passed with minor problems," Houston Mayor Annise Parker said on Twitter on Sunday.Petroleum refineries along the U.S. Gulf Coast - more than 40 percent of U.S. capacity - appeared to have survived the storm unscathed. In the Eagle Ford and Permian Basin oil fields of south and west Texas, firms did not report any major production cuts. While the rains were steady and heavy in Houston, they came after a month-long dry spell so flooding was relatively limited. Two dozen people died in Texas in a one-week period in May after record rainfall sparked flooding that ripped homes from foundations and swept over vehicles. The storms over the past two days drenched a large swath from south of Dallas to the southeast coast, triggering flash flooding in Navarro County, about 50 miles (80 km) south of Dallas, on Saturday.A Union Pacific freight train carrying cement derailed in Navarro County after a creek overflowed, washing out the tracks. Locomotives and rail cars were pushed on their sides, and a two-person crew was forced to swim to safety.Repair teams cleared the derailed cars by Sunday morning, but they were not expected to be righted for several hours and a locomotive was not seen being moved until later in the day, Union Pacific spokesman Jeff DeGraff said on Sunday afternoon.Crews began to repair damaged tracks, but water was still rushing over sections. The rail line was not due to reopen until Monday at the earliest, he said.Navarro County was one of the hardest-hit areas. The tiny town of Powell got 20 inches (50 cm) of rain over 30 hours, said meteorologist Brett Rathbun of Accuweather.Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner reported dozens of rescues from vehicles, homes and businesses since Friday.Interstate 45, nearly 300 miles long running from Dallas to Houston to Galveston, was shut down in Navarro on Saturday, then reopened Sunday morning. In San Antonio, a woman reported her boyfriend being swept into a drainage ditch as he walked his dog early Saturday. Officials said he was considered missing. There were no confirmed deaths reported. The rain systems were intensified by the remnants of Patricia, which was downgraded to a tropical depression after crashing into Mexico's west coast on Friday as a powerful hurricane. The Houston Fire Department responded to 28 water rescue calls from Saturday morning to Sunday morning, Captain Ruy Lozano said. One man sleeping under a bridge was rescued by boat after climbing a tree, he said.-STORM SYSTEM MOVES OVER LOUISIANA-The heaviest band of rain moved over the Gulf of Mexico, triggering coastal flood warnings and flash flood watches in southwest Louisiana, though New Orleans and southeastern Louisiana were soaked by the slow-moving system, the National Weather Service said. The storm is expected to bring 2.5 inches to 8 inches (8 cm to 20 cm) of more rain as it crosses Louisiana overnight Sunday, said Andy Tingler, a National Weather Service meteorologist in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Tides along the southern coast of Louisiana were expected to be a few feet above normal at high tide due in part to sustained winds, likely flooding roads in lower-lying areas, he said.(Additional reporting by Kathy Finn in New Orleans, Terry Wade in Houston, Lisa Maria Garza in Dallas, Jim Forsyth in San Antonio, Karen Brooks in Austin and Alex Dobuzinskis and Dan Whitcomb in Los Angeles; Writing by David Bailey; Editing by Larry King and Frances Kerry)

Largest U.S. refineries unaffected by heavy Gulf Coast rain-Reuters-OCT 25,15-YAHOONEWS

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Operations at the largest two U.S. refineries were unaffected by heavy rains along the Texas Gulf Coast over the weekend, representatives for the plants said on Sunday. Both the 603,000 barrel per day Motiva Enterprises Port Arthur, Texas refinery and Exxon Mobil Corp's 560,500 bpd Baytown, Texas, refinery were operating after more than 10 inches (25 cm) of rain fell over the Texas coast between Saturday and Sunday. The two refineries account for 6.5 percent of U.S. refining capacity. The heavy rains were due in part to remnant moisture from Hurricane Patricia combining with a low pressure system along the Texas Coast.Royal Dutch Shell's U.S. arm Shell Oil Co said the company's joint-venture 316,600 bpd Deer Park, Texas, refinery was operating normally. Exxon said the storms did not affect operations at its 344,600 bpd Beaumont, Texas, refinery.A Phillips 66 spokeswoman said the company's 247,000 bpd Sweeny, Texas, refinery was unaffected by severe weather including a tornado warning on Saturday.Citgo Petroleum Corp's 163,000 bpd Corpus Christi, Texas, refinery had no problems due to heavy rains, said a source familiar with plant operations.Refineries in Houston and Texas City, Texas, appeared to be operating normally after nearly 30 hours of rain. No notices of refinery malfunctions had been filed with Texas environmental regulators by early Sunday evening due to the storms.(Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Eric Walsh)

Pacific coast area hardest hit by Patricia begins to dig out-Associated Press By CHRISTOPHER SHERMAN-OCT 25,15-YAHOONEWS

EL REBALSE, Mexico (AP) — The town square in El Rebalse is now an island amid Hurricane Patricia's floodwaters, a place for Maria Santana Vazquez and her husband to rest Sunday after wading through water, at times chest deep, trying to return home. All around, kids swam, a dog paddled and just before noon two high-clearance army transport trucks arrived — the first outside help since Patricia, the hemisphere's strongest hurricane on record, roared in Friday night and washed out the only paved road into town. While Mexico for the most part was relieved that the storm caused no fatalities and only marginal damage in the resort of Puerto Vallarta and the principle port of Manzanillo, the sparsely populated zone of Pacific coast where Patricia delivered its fury was only beginning to assess the full damage Sunday.President Enrique Pena Nieto said Saturday that 3,000 to 3,500 homes were damaged and about 8,650 acres of farmland were hurt. But that was before anyone from the government arrived in El Rebalse, a town surrounded by banana plantations that Associated Press journalists tried to reach on foot before hitching a ride on the army trucks.Banana trees as far as the eye could see were snapped in half, and large bunches of the fruit moldered in the intense sun."They're going to lose a whole year," Santana's husband, Artemio Sanmeron Sanchez, said of the plantations where everyone in town made their living. Then the couple slipped back into the water and waded off. Already they had slogged from the neighboring town, Cihuatlan, where they evacuated. They assumed their home of 15 years was destroyed. In the surrounding Cihuatlan Valley, less than 6 miles (10 kilometers) from the Pacific, between 1,800 and 2,000 people depend directly on agriculture for livelihoods, said Narciso de Jesus Ramirez Rubio, a banana grower and president of the municipal small landowners association. That's not counting their families. He was annoyed that, in his mind, Pena Nieto had played down the damage. He said that only with government help could the owners of the mango and banana plantations hope to get their fields producing again in a year's time. Work to build levees to contain the nearby Marabasco River began three years ago, but were not completed, he said."This is total destruction," Ramirez said as he watched soldiers work to make a washed out section of road passable. "Agriculture along with tourism is the principle source of employment."The Mexican navy put out a statement Sunday that it had 5,791 sailors and marines, 192 vehicles, seven aircraft, three vessels and eight mobile kitchens working to reach those affected by the mega-storm.Patricia made landfall as a powerful Category 5 hurricane, having peaked at sea with winds up to 200 mph then coming ashore Friday evening with winds of 165 mph. After the wind and rain subsided, the river entered through a gap behind the banana plantation where Martha Gutierrez and her husband had lived and worked for nine years. It was 1:20 a.m. and the family scrambled to another house with a second story. They hadn't evacuated before the storm because they wanted to care for their animals. In the end, five of their six pigs drowned, and their house was destroyed."We have nothing to eat," Gutierrez said.In El Rebalse, Rosalinda Hernandez Murga stirred a pot of rice soup over a wood fire. Her family and three others took shelter in a well-constructed, two-story house before Patricia struck. Its sloped driveway to an elevated parking area is now a landing area for boats. All 16 people staying there crowded into a room on the second floor when the storm hit. The fiercest winds lasted about two hours, but strong winds blew for five or six hours shaking the house."It felt like it was going to lift off," Hernandez said.Around 1 a.m. the water began rising around them. By Sunday it had gone down somewhat, but was still about chest high in the street.Out on the road leading to El Rebalse, mud-caked and breathing hard, Carmela Jeronimo Avalos heaved a big garbage bag of clothing off her shoulder and onto the pavement. She had just slogged about a mile (2 kilometers) into the flood zone with relatives to salvage what they could. With the water subsiding to ankle deep, they could haul out clothes, a small television and two electric fans. After catching her breath, Jeronimo turned around and began another trek to her ruined home to see what else could be saved.

ISAIAH 23:15-17
15  And it shall come to pass in that day, that Tyre shall be forgotten seventy years, according to the days of one king: after the end of seventy years shall Tyre sing as an harlot.
16  Take an harp, go about the city, thou harlot that hast been forgotten; make sweet melody, sing many songs, that thou mayest be remembered.
17  And it shall come to pass after the end of seventy years, that the LORD will visit Tyre, and she shall turn to her hire, and shall commit fornication with all the kingdoms of the world upon the face of the earth.(COULD THIS BE 70 YEARS AFTER ISRAEL BECAME A NATION IN 1948)(IF SO THIS SATANIC ONE WORLD WHORE CHURCH WILL MINGLE TOGETHER BY 2018)(AND NOW ISLAM AND CHRISTIANITY AND ALL RELIGIONS ARE MINGLING AS ONE PEACE-LOVE-JOY-GET ALONG RELIGION LEAD BY THE VATICAN RIGHT NOW 4 YEARS FROM THE 70 YEAR TIME WHEN ISRAEL BECAME A NATION).AND IN CONTROL OF JERUSALEM.

11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth;(FALSE VATICAN POPE) and he had two horns like a lamb,(JESUS IS THE LAMB OF GOD) and he spake as a dragon.(HES SATANICALLY INSPIRED,HES A CHRISTIAN DEFECTOR FROM THE FAITH)
12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him,(WORLD DICTATOR) and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.(THE WORLD DICTATOR CREATES A FALSE RESURRECTION AND IS CROWNED LEADER OF THE NEW WORLD ORDER).
13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,
14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
16 And he(FALSE POPE) causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:(CHIP IMPLANT)
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.(6-6-6) A NUMBER SYSTEM

REVELATION 17:1-18
1 And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication,(VATICAN IN POLITICS) and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
3 So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
4 And the woman (FALSE CHURCH) was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour,(VATICAN COLOURS)(ANOTHER REASON WE KNOW THE FALSE POPE COMES FROM THE VATICAN) and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
5 And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
6 And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.
7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.(THE VATICAN IS BUILT ON 7 HILLS OR MOUNTAINS)
10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen,(1-ASSYRIA,2-EGYPT,3-BABYLON,4-MEDO-PERSIA,5-GREECE) and one is,(IN POWER IN JOHNS AND JESUS DAY-6-ROME) and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.(7TH-REVIVED ROMAN EMPIRE OR THE EUROPEAN UNION TODAY AND THE SHORT SPACE IS-THE EUROPEAN UNION WILL HAVE WORLD CONTROL FOR THE LAST 3 1/2 YEARS.BUT WILL HAVE ITS MIGHTY WORLD POWER FOR THE FULL 7 YEARS OF THE 7 YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD.AND THE WORLD DICTATOR WILL BE THE BEAST FROM THE EU.AND THE VATICAN POPE WILL BE THE WHORE THAT RIDES THE EUROPEAN UNION TO POWER.AND THE 2 EUROPEAN UNION POWER FREAKS WILL CONTROL AND DECIEVE THE WHOLE EARTH INTO THEIR DESTRUCTION.IF YOU ARE NOT SAVED BY THE BLOOD OF JESUS.YOU WILL BE DECIEVED BY THESE TWO.THE WORLD POLITICIAN-THE EUROPEAN UNION DICTATOR.AND THE FALSE PROPHET THAT DEFECTS CHRISTIANITY-THE FALSE VATICAN POPE.
11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
14 These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.(VATICAN-CATHOLICS ALL AROUND THE WORLD OVER 1 BILLION)
16 And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast,(WORLD DICTATOR) these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
18 And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

10/24/2015-Synod Fathers approve text on “discernment” for remarried divorcees-The Synod assembly approves the concluding text-vatican insider-The Synod assembly approves the concluding text-All paragraphs of the final document have been approved with a two-thirds vote from the Synod Fathers. Number 85 was also only just approved (178 placets, 80 non placets and there was a qualified majority quorum of 177). The text does not introduce any general rules, nor has unconditional access to the sacraments been granted but it does build on the work Wojtyla started with the “Familiaris consortio”, advocating “discernment” on a case-by-case basis-andrea tornielli

vatican city-The concluding text of the Synod, approved by participating bishops makes no changes to Church doctrine and values the family and Gospel teaching, but also shows greater understanding to remarried divorcees. Two paragraphs in particular address the attitude to adopt with regard to remarried divorcees – a hotly debated and controversial issue – and also the possibility of them participating in the sacraments in certain cases and under certain conditions. The decision to entrust communion for remarried divorcees to the “discernment” of pastors has been approved by a two-thirds majority, with only one vote beyond the necessary two thirds (178 “yes” votes against the required 177 votes for a qualified majority). These are the result of the vote on the Relatio Sinodi.  There were 80 “no” votes. Three of the text’s paragraphs – numbers 84, 85 and 86 –  received consensuses that were higher than the required two-thirds (177) but only by a narrow margin.Paragraph 85 quotes the following passage of John Paul II’s “Familiaris consortio” as a “general criterion”: “Pastors must know that, for the sake of truth, they are obliged to exercise careful discernment of situations. There is in fact a difference between those who have sincerely tried to save their first marriage and have been unjustly abandoned, and those who through their own grave fault have destroyed a canonically valid marriage. Finally, there are those who have entered into a second union for the sake of the children's upbringing, and who are sometimes subjectively certain in conscience that their previous and irreparably destroyed marriage had never been valid."On the basis of these criteria, the document approved by the Synod, states: “Priests therefore have the task of accompanying interested parties along the path of discernment, according to the teaching of the Church and the directions offered the bishop. It is useful to examine our consciences in the process, through moments of reflection and repentance. Remarried divorcees should ask themselves how they treated their children when their conjugal union entered a crisis; whether there were attempts at reconciliation; what the situation of the abandoned partner is; what consequences has it had on the rest of the family and the community of faithful; what example it offers to young people preparing for marriage.”The text goes on to present some criteria for “discerning” different situations, in relation to the previous marriage, to the children involved and to the relationship interested parties have with the Christian community. The relationship with the confessor is also discussed: “Sincere reflection can reinforce trust in God’s mercy, which no one is denied. Furthermore, it cannot be denied that is certain circumstances, ‘imputability and responsibility for an action can be diminished or even nullified’ due to a number of factors,” the text says, quoting point number 1735 of the Catechism of the Catholic Church.“ Consequently,” the document goes on to say, “judgement of an objective situation cannot lead to a judgement on the “subjective imputability” (Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts, Declaration of 24 June 2000, 2a). In certain circumstances, people find it very difficult to act differently. Therefore, although a general rule is to be followed, it must also be recognised that responsibility for certain actions or decisions is not always the same in all situations. Pastoral discernment must address these situations bearing in mind that people’s conscience is based on the Church’s teaching. The consequences of an act are also not necessarily the same in all cases.” On the basis of traditional doctrine, the Synod Fathers recall that besides the objective situation in which remarried divorcees live, one must also take subjective situations into consideration and these could significantly reduce the level of responsibility. In this way, paragraph 86 of the concluding document explains, “the process of accompaniment and discernment encourages faithful to take stock of their situation before God. Discussion with the priest in an internal forum, facilitates the formation of a correct judgement about what stands in the way of the possibility for full participation in the life of the Church and on the steps that can be taken to move in this direction and help it grow.” The text clarifies that this discernment, “can never overlook truth and charity, which are vital elements of the Gospel that the Church encourages. This is possible  when the necessary conditions of humility, discretion, love for the Church and its teaching are guaranteed, demonstrating sincere efforts to respect God’s will and the willingness to respond to this in a better way.”Essentially, the text the Synod Fathers delivered to the Pope, presents a path of prudent openness for the evaluation of situations on a case-by-case basis, leaving it up to him to decide and to possibly discuss this in a potential future document.Paragraph 84, states that “Catholics who have divorced and remarried in a civil ceremony, need to be integrated into Christian communities more, in all ways possible, avoiding scandal. The logic of integration is the key to their pastoral accompaniment,” in order to help them feel that not only do they “belong” to the Church, but that their experience within it can be a joyful and fertile one. They are baptised, they are brothers and sisters, the Holy Spirit pours gifts and charisms into them for the good of everyone.” As far as the forms of participation are concerned, it is necessary “to discern which of the different forms of exclusion currently practiced” – for example the fact they cannot become godfathers or godmothers or teach the catechism or give readings in Church – can “be overcome”. Not only must remarried divorcees “not feel excommunicated, but they must live and grow as living members of the Church, feeling it as their mother that welcomes them always”. “Taking care of these people” “does not mean the faith” of the Christian community “is weakened, nor that their testimony of the indissolubility of marriage is weakened: on the contrary, the Church expresses its charity through this kind of care.”Finally, the text also asks for “pastoral discernment” in situations to do with “access to the sacrament of baptism for people experiencing complex matrimonial circumstances,” in other words those who have entered a civil marriage and only subsequently discover the faith and ask to be baptised.

10/24/2015-VATICAN INSIDER-"The true defenders of doctrine uphold not its letter, but its spirit”-The Pope attends the Synod meetings-Vatican Insider publishes the full text of Francis’ address marking the conclusion of the Synod on the family: "The Church’s first duty is not to hand down condemnations or anathemas, but to proclaim God’s mercy, to call to conversion, and to lead all men and women to salvation in the Lord”-pope francis

Dear Beatitudes, Eminences and Excellencies, Dear Brothers and Sisters,I would like first of all to thank the Lord, who has guided our synodal process in these years by his Holy Spirit, whose support is never lacking to the Church. My heartfelt thanks go to Cardinal Lorenzo Baldisseri, Secretary General of the Synod, Bishop Fabio Fabene, its Under-Secretary, and, together with them, the Relator, Cardinal Peter ErdÅ‘, and the Special Secretary, Archbishop Bruno Forte, the Delegate Presidents, the writers, consultors and translators, and all those who have worked tirelessly and with total dedication to the Church: My deepest thanks! I likewise thank all of you, dear Synod Fathers, Fraternal Delegates, Auditors and Assessors, parish priests and families, for your active and fruitful participation. And I thank all those unnamed men and women who contributed generously to the labours of this Synod by quietly working behind the scenes.Be assured of my prayers, that the Lord will reward all of you with his abundant gifts of grace! As I followed the labours of the Synod, I asked myself: What will it mean for the Church to conclude this Synod devoted to the family? Certainly, the Synod was not about settling all the issues having to do with the family, but rather attempting to see them in the light of the Gospel and the Church’s tradition and two-thousand-year history, bringing the joy of hope without falling into a facile repetition of what is obvious or has already been said.Surely it was not about finding exhaustive solutions for all the difficulties and uncertainties which challenge and threaten the family, but rather about seeing these difficulties and uncertainties in the light of the Faith, carefully studying them and confronting them fearlessly, without burying our heads in the sand.It was about urging everyone to appreciate the importance of the institution of the family and of marriage between a man and a woman, based on unity and indissolubility, and valuing it as the fundamental basis of society and human life.It was about listening to and making heard the voices of the families and the Church’s pastors, who came to Rome bearing on their shoulders the burdens and the hopes, the riches and the challenges of families throughout the world. It was about showing the vitality of the Catholic Church, which is not afraid to stir dulled consciences or to soil her hands with lively and frank discussions about the family. It was about trying to view and interpret realities, today’s realities, through God’s eyes, so as to kindle the flame of faith and enlighten people’s hearts in times marked by discouragement, social, economic and moral crisis, and growing pessimism. It was about bearing witness to everyone that, for the Church, the Gospel continues to be a vital source of eternal newness, against all those who would “indoctrinate” it in dead stones to be hurled at others. It was also about laying bare the closed hearts which frequently hide even behind the Church’s teachings or good intentions, in order to sit in the chair of Moses and judge, sometimes with superiority and superficiality, difficult cases and wounded families. It was about making clear that the Church is a Church of the poor in spirit and of sinners seeking forgiveness, not simply of the righteous and the holy, but rather of those who are righteous and holy precisely when they feel themselves poor sinners. It was about trying to open up broader horizons, rising above conspiracy theories and blinkered viewpoints, so as to defend and spread the freedom of the children of God, and to transmit the beauty of Christian Newness, at times encrusted in a language which is archaic or simply incomprehensible. In the course of this Synod, the different opinions which were freely expressed – and at times, unfortunately, not in entirely well-meaning ways – certainly led to a rich and lively dialogue; they offered a vivid image of a Church which does not simply “rubberstamp”, but draws from the sources of her faith living waters to refresh parched hearts. And – apart from dogmatic questions clearly defined by the Church’s Magisterium – we have also seen that what seems normal for a bishop on one continent, is considered strange and almost scandalous for a bishop from another; what is considered a violation of a right in one society is an evident and inviolable rule in another; what for some is freedom of conscience is for others simply confusion. Cultures are in fact quite diverse, and each general principle needs to be inculturated, if it is to be respected and applied.2 The 1985 Synod, which celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the conclusion of the Second Vatican Council, spoke of inculturation as “the intimate transformation of authentic cultural values through their integration in Christianity, and the taking root of Christianity in the various human cultures”.3 Inculturation does not weaken true values, but demonstrates their true strength and authenticity, since they adapt without changing; indeed they quietly and gradually transform the different cultures. We have seen, also by the richness of our diversity, that the same challenge is ever before us: that of proclaiming the Gospel to the men and women of today, and defending the family from all ideological and individualistic assaults. And without ever falling into the danger of relativism or of demonizing others, we sought to embrace, fully and courageously, the goodness and mercy of God who transcends our every human reckoning and desires only that “all be saved” (cf. 1 Tm 2:4). In this way we wished to experience this Synod in the context of the Extraordinary Year of Mercy which the Church is called to celebrated.Dear Brothers,The Synod experience also made us better realize that the true defenders of doctrine are not those who uphold its letter, but its spirit; not ideas but people; not formulae but the gratuitousness of God’s love and forgiveness. This is in no way to detract from the importance of formulae, laws and divine commandments, but raather to exalt the greatness of the true God, who does not treat us according to our merits or even according to our works but solely according to the boundless generosity of his Mercy (cf. Rom 3:21-30; Ps 129; Lk 11:37-54). It does have to do with overcoming the recurring temptations of the elder brother (cf. Lk 15:25-32) and the jealous labourers (cf. Mt 20:1-16). Indeed, it means upholding all the more the laws and commandments which were made for man and not vice versa (cf. Mk 2:27).In this sense, the necessary human repentance, works and efforts take on a deeper meaning, not as the price of that salvation freely won for us by Christ on the cross, but as a response to the One who loved us first and saved us at the cost of his innocent blood, while we were still sinners (cf. Rom 5:6).The Church’s first duty is not to hand down condemnations or anathemas, but to proclaim God’s mercy, to call to conversion, and to lead all men and women to salvation in the Lord (cf. Jn 12:44-50).Blessed Paul VI expressed this eloquently: “”We can imagine, then, that each of our sins, our attempts to turn our back on God, kindles in him a more intense flame of love, a desire to bring us back to himself and to his saving plan… God, in Christ, shows himself to be infinitely good… God is good. Not only in himself; God is – let us say it with tears – good for us. He loves us, he seeks us out, he thinks of us, he knows us, he touches our hearts us and he waits for us. He will be – so to say – delighted on the day when we return and say: ‘Lord, in your goodness, forgive me. Thus our repentance becomes God’s joy”.Saint John Paul II also stated that: “the Church lives an authentic life when she professes and proclaims mercy… and when she brings people close to the sources of the Saviour’s mercy, of which she is the trustee and dispenser”.Benedict XVI, too, said: “Mercy is indeed the central nucleus of the Gospel message; it is the very name of God… May all that the Church says and does manifest the mercy God feels for mankind. When the Church has to recall an unrecognized truth, or a betrayed good, she always does so impelled by merciful love, so that men may have life and have it abundantly (cf. Jn 10:10)”.In light of all this, and thanks to this time of grace which the Church has experienced in discussing the family, we feel mutually enriched. Many of us have felt the working of the Holy Spirit who is the real protagonist and guide of the Synod. For all of us, the word “family” has a new resonance, so much so that the word itself already evokes the richness of the family’s vocation and the significance of the labours of the Synod. In effect, for the Church to conclude the Synod means to return to our true “journeying together” in bringing to every part of the world, to every diocese, to every community and every situation, the light of the Gospel, the embrace of the Church and the support of God’s mercy! Thank you!

EU mini-summit to 'slow flows' of refugees By Andrew Rettman and Eric Maurice-OCT 25,15-EUOBSERVER

BRUSSELS, Today, 16:07-Leaders of frontline states on the Balkan migrant trail are in talks on hosting hundreds of extra border guards to “slow down the flows” of refugees. The proposal, seen by EUobserver, was put forward by the European Commission ahead of a mini-summit, being held in Brussels on Sunday (25 October), on the crisis. The 16-point plan says Frontex, the EU border control agency in Warsaw, is to deploy staff on the Greek-Albanian and Greek-Macedonian border “to focus on exit checks” and “registration of refugees and migrants who have not yet registered in Greece”.Frontex will help “detect irregular border crossings and support registration and fingerprinting in Croatia”.It will also deploy, by Wednesday, “400 border guards and essential equipment” in Slovenia. At the same time, “leaders will ensure a full capacity to register arrivals, with maximum use of biometric data … at the point of first entry into the EU”.They will also “commit to refrain from facilitating the movement of refugees or migrants to the border of another country of the region without the agreement of that country”.The commission underlines that its emergency scheme “does not replace” the “obligation for EU member states of mandatory registration in line with the common European asylum system rules”.Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker called Sunday’s meeting as tens of thousands of people a day keep coming, mostly from camps in Turkey, via Greece and the Western Balkans, en route to Austria and Germany. The situation has seen Hungary seal its borders, creating human bottlenecks in Croatia and Slovenia. It has also seen Austria and Germany threaten to close borders, with Bulgaria, Romania, and Serbia threatening to follow suit.Sunday’s event includes German chancellor Angela Merkel, who expects up to 1 million asylum claims in her country this year.It also includes counter parts from EU states Austria, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Hungary, Romania, and Slovenia, and from EU candidate countries Albania, Macedonia, and Serbia.Serbia-An EU source said that, on top of the commission blueprint, EU states will try to persuade Serbia to host more refugees in return for financial assistance and political perks, on the model of a recent EU-Turkey “action plan”.There’s less scope for Macedonia co-operation because Skopje is bogged down in an internal political crisis. But its PM, Nikola Gruevski, who’s under EU fire for failure to comply with anti-corruption measures, is also likely to seek political concessions. The commission plan notes that “refugees need to be treated in a humane manner”.But its principal aim is to “restore stability to the management of migration in the region and to slow down the flows” of people in need.It says “leaders commit to step up their national and collectively coordinated efforts to return of migrants not in need of international protection”.It notes that “cooperation will be intensified with Afghanistan, in particular in the area of returns”.It also says if migrants “do not confirm a wish to apply for international protection” in, say, Croatia or Greece, preferring to wait until they get to Germany, then the frontline EU states “may refuse entry”.Amid increasing ill will between EU capitals, the commission adds that the “challenge … will not be solved through national actions”.“Countries affected should not only talk about and at each other but also with each other”.-Root causes-Coming into the summit on Sunday, Merkel told press: “We are here to coordinate and [to] make the reception of refugees more humane”.But she warned that only Turkey has the power to stop the exodus.Serb PM Aleksandar Vucic said: “We’re ready to take our part of the burden on our shoulders. But we need to see what will be the comprhensive solution to the crisis”.Zoran Milanovic, the Croatian leader, noted he’s ready to “soft-heartedly accept” the commission plan. But he added: “The root cause has to be tackled in Greece and Turkey. These are just nice Sunday afternoon talks”.Miro Cerar, the Slovenian leader, warned that: "If we do not deliver some imediate concrete measures, I believe that the EU all together will start falling apart".He urged Croatia "not to send people to us without notifying us" and warned of unilateral "measures to protect Slovenian security" if need be.Hungary’s Viktor Orban said the EU should “put an end to [its] open border policy”.Having sealed off his own country, he added: “Hungary is not on the route anymore. We are simply observers here”.Johannes Hahn, the EU’s neighbourhood commissioner, indicated that Russia’s military intervention in Syria is making matters worse.“ With increased military action in Syria, pressure to flee has increased”, he said.“In the past couple of weeks, in the surrounding of Aleppo [in northern Syria] 3 million people have been affected by increase of military action, which might have an immediate impact for Europe”.

China urges Britain to stay inside EU By Andrew Rettman-EUOBSERVER

BRUSSELS, 23. Oct, 14:43-Chinese leader Xi Jinping has urged the UK not to leave the EU in a rare intervention in a foreign country’s internal affairs. He told British PM David Cameron on Friday (23 October): “China hopes to see a prosperous Europe and a united EU, and hopes Britain, as an important member of the EU, can play an even more positive and constructive role in promoting the deepening development of China-EU ties”.His remarks, as published in the form of a paraphrase by the Chinese foreign ministry the same day, mark an unusual departure from China’s doctrine of non-intervention in other countries’ internal matters. They come amid British plans to hold an In/Out EU referendum by 2017.They also come amid a slump in support for the In vote, in a development linked to the arrival of hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees to mainland Europe.Just 52 percent of Brits want to stay in the EU, compared to 61 percent in June, an Ipsos Mori poll said on Thursday. Support for leaving the EU rose to 39 percent, from 27 percent. The Cameron-Xi meeting, which lasted four and a half hours, marked the end of a four-day state visit, which included military pomp and royal banquets. The two men, also on Friday, drank beer in a pub near Cameron’s Chequers country house and ate fish and chips. The red-carpet treatment has attracted criticism from human rights activists, who note that the Chinese regime has a blood-soaked record on the Tibet independence movement and on political dissent more broadly. The Chinese foreign ministry read-out added that Cameron and Xi agreed “to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with the British side in reform and innovation, rule of law, fighting corruption”.It also reported that: "Cameron said Britain and China are civilised countries … [which] should respect each other's views”.The British PM’s statement on Friday focused on foreign policy and security. It said they agreed “the international community must come together more effectively to tackle the evil of ISIL”, referring to the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq.It added: “On Ukraine, the prime minister and president both encouraged progress in implementing the Minsk accord”, referring to a ceasefire deal.Xi, earlier in his British tour, noted he wants UK support for China to join the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. He said he wants the UK to “spur China-Europe cooperation”, mentioning his Silk Road Economic Belt project - a plan designed to promote trade flows via Central Asia, a region bedevilled by poor road and rail connections, to Europe. He mostly steered clear of foreign policy and security. But he said the international community should avoid the “bloc mentality” of the Cold War, in an allusion to the new climate in relations between the West and Russia, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

MOSCOW/BEIRUT (Reuters) - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's priority is to defeat "terrorists" before holding elections but he is ready to call parliamentary and presidential polls if necessary, a Russian lawmaker who met him on Sunday said. The remarks are a first indication of Assad's response to a call by his Russian allies for new presidential and parliamentary elections, as Moscow uses its clout with Damascus to try to end almost five years of conflict in Syria.Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, whose country has launched air strikes against Assad's opponents in Syria, called for the elections in an interview broadcast on Saturday. Moscow said Lavrov discussed Syria with U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry twice at the weekend, and spoke to his Iranian and Egyptian counterparts on Saturday. Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said in Cairo that international talks had yielded some progress though more consultations were needed.Assad's opponents, however, are wary of Russia's motives, suspecting it of trying to prop up Assad and look after its own national interests in the Middle East as its warplanes support offensives against rebels on the ground. Assad visited Moscow last week on his first known trip outside Syria since the start of the conflict, which is estimated to have killed 250,000 people. The Syrian state news agency SANA made no mention of elections in its account of Assad's meeting on Sunday with a visiting Russian delegation. SANA said Assad told the visitors that "the elimination of terrorist groups" would lead to the political solution sought by both Syria and Russia.Asked after the meeting whether Assad was ready for early elections, Russian parliamentary deputy Sergey Gavrilov told Reuters his impression was that "the first aim (of Assad is) the struggle with and victory over ... terrorism, and after that the elections - parliamentary and president elections".Damascus views all the groups fighting it as terrorists.Insurgents operating in Syria include Islamic State, the al Qaeda-linked Nusra Front, other jihadists, and groups with a nationalist agenda seen as moderate by Assad's foreign opponents and fighting under the banner of the "Free Syrian Army".Gavrilov also told Russian state television that Assad was "ready for broad dialogue with all responsible political forces that care about Syria. He is ready for parliamentary elections, constitutional reform, presidential elections if necessary".AIR CAMPAIGN-Syria's last presidential election was in June, 2014. The vote was won overwhelmingly by Assad but dismissed as a sham by opponents, with much of the country at war and millions forced from their homes.Assad is believed to control a quarter or less of Syrian territory, but the bulk of people still in the country are in the main cities of western Syria that he holds.Another Russian parliamentary deputy present at Sunday's talks, Alexander Yushchenko, said Assad was ready to take part in a presidential election "if the Syrian people consider it necessary", Russian news agency RIA reported. Russian warplanes have been mounting air strikes against insurgents in Syria since Sept. 30. Moscow says the campaign is aimed at Islamic State, but it has mostly struck areas of western Syria held by other rebels battling to topple Assad. With Russian air support, the Syrian army backed by Lebanon's Hezbollah, Iranian fighters and other militias is waging ground offensives in areas of western Syria that are crucial to the survival of the Damascus-based state.Rebels attacked by Russian warplanes have poured scorn on Moscow's proposals, including the idea that Moscow would be ready to help Western-backed Free Syrian Army rebels. Some of the rebels have received military support from countries including the United States and Saudi Arabia and have called for more weapons to hit back. The U.S State Department said after Kerry met King Salman of Saudi Arabia on Saturday that Washington and Riyadh had agreed to increase support for Syria's moderate opposition while seeking a political resolution. In Cairo, Jubeir reiterated the Saudi view that Assad can have no role in Syria's future."I believe that there has been some progress and positions have moved closer on finding a solution to the Syrian crisis, but I cannot say that we have reached an agreement. We still need more consultations ... to reach this point," he told a news conference after meeting Egypt's foreign minister. The Russian Foreign Ministry gave few details of the phone conversation between Lavrov and Kerry on Sunday, following a discussion by phone a day earlier.Moscow says Assad must be part of any transition and that the Syrian people will decide who rules them. Washington has said it could tolerate Assad during a short transition period, but that he would then have to exit the political stage.(Additional reporting by Kinda Makieh in Damascus and Yara Bayoumy in Dubai, Lin Noueihed and Ahmed Aboulenein in Cairo,; Editing by Timothy Heritage)

Saudis see some progress toward political solution in Syria-Reuters-OCT 25,15-YAHOONEWS

Differences seem to be increasing between Saudi Arabia's position on Syria and that of Egypt, a close ally. Unlike Saudi Arabia, which backs some Syrian rebel groups, Egypt has welcomed Russian air strikes in Syria against insurgents.Moscow says Syrian president Bashar al-Assad must be part of any political transition and that the Syrian people will decide who rules them.Washington has said it could tolerate Assad during a short transition period, but that he would then have to then exit the political stage. In a flurry of diplomatic activity around the Syria crisis, U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry visited Riyadh on Saturday and the two countries agreed to boost support for Syria's moderate opposition while seeking a political resolution to the four-year-old conflict. At a news conference in Cairo with Egypt's Sameh Shoukry, Jubeir said: "I believe that there has been some progress and positions have moved closer on finding a solution to the Syrian crisis, but I cannot say that we have reached an agreement. We still need more consultations...to reach this point."Jubeir gave no details on what positions had shifted or how far but reiterated the long-held Saudi stance that Assad must go, saying Riyadh backed the creation of a transitional ruling body that would write a new constitution and prepare for elections."There is no role for Bashar al-Assad in the future of Syria," he said.Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called in an interview broadcast on Saturday for new parliamentary and presidential elections in Syria.A Russian lawmaker who met Assad on Sunday said the Syrian president was ready to call elections if necessary but his priority was to defeat "terrorists" first.Rebels have appealed for more military support from foreign backers, including Saudi Arabia, to confront major Syrian army offensives. Those offensives are backed by Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian fighters as well as Russian air strikes."I believe that in the final solution we all want for Syria to be a united country in which all sects live equally and to be a country devoid of any foreign forces," Jubeir said.Egypt has yet to publicly answer a call from Russia to take part in future international talks on Syria along with Iran.Shoukry did not discuss the Russian invitation in the news conference and he denied there was any disagreement with Saudi Arabia over Syria's future.(Reporting by Lin Noueihed; Editing by Louise Ireland)

THE FIRST JUDGEMENT OF THE EARTH STARTED WITH WATER-IT ONLY MAKES SENSE THE LAST GENERATION WILL BE HAVING FLOODING
GENESIS 7:6-12
6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.
8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
GOD PROMISED BY A RAINBOW-THE EARTH WOULD NEVER BE DESTROYED TOTALLY WITH A FLOOD AGAIN.BUT FLOODIING IS A SIGN OF JUDGEMENT.

ANGEL 3 TO DR DOCTORIAN-The angel said, The chosen, the church, the remnant, shall be purified. The Spirit of God shall prepare the children of God. I saw fires rising to heaven. The angel said, This is the final judgment. My church shall be purified, protected and ready for the final day. Men will die from thirst. Water shall be scarce all over the Middle East. Rivers shall dry up, and men will fight for water in those countries. The angel showed me that the United Nations shall be broken in pieces because of the crisis in the Middle East. There shall be no more United Nations. The angel with the sickle shall reap the harvest.

FOURTH ANGEL - TO DR DOCTORIAN-We are five angels from  the five continents. of the world. Now we go to Africa. I saw the fourth angel with wings fly over Africa, and I could see from Capetown in the south all the way to the north of Cairo - I saw all the countries there, more than fifty of them. The angel of Africa had a sword in his hand - a tremendous, sharp sword. Suddenly I heard him say, Innocent blood has been shed. Divisions amongst the people generations far from the Lord - they have killed one another, thousands of people. I have seen my faithful children in Africa, and I shall reward all the faithful in the continent of Africa. I shall bless them abundantly. I shall control the weather - scorching and burning of the sun in some parts. Great rivers shall dry up, and millions will die from starvation. In other parts, flooding. Foundations shall be shaken. My sword shall judge the unrighteous and the bloodthirsty. So many earthquakes shall happen that rivers shall flow different directions in the continent, flooding many villages. I saw great pieces falling from the sky over different parts of Africa .There shall be trembling of the earth like has not been seen since the creation. None shall escape the sword of the Lord. I saw the River Nile drying up. It is the god of Egypt. Fishes dead and stinking all over Egypt. A great part of the middle of Africa will be covered with water - millions dying. Lord, I said, It is all bad news. All destruction. Any good news? The Lord said, The final day has come. Judgment day is here. My love has been refused now, and the end has come. I was shaking and trembling. I thought I cannot bear it.

UPDATE-OCTOBER 25,2015-12:00AM
CURRENTLY TROPICAL STORM PATRICIA IS HEADING INTO TEXAS.

Massive storm Patricia spares cities as it slams into Mexico's Pacific coast-Reuters By David Alire Garcia-OCT 24,15-YAHOONEWS

PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico (Reuters) - Hurricane Patricia, one of the strongest storms ever recorded, crashed into western Mexico with rain and winds of up to 165 mph (266 kph), hammering coastal areas but causing less damage than had been feared as it skirted cities and major tourist resorts.Mowing down trees, flooding streets and battering buildings, Patricia plowed into Mexico as a Category 5 hurricane on Friday evening before grinding inland. It rapidly lost power in the mountains that rise up along the Pacific coast and was downgraded to a tropical depression on Saturday morning as it headed through central Mexico. Thousands of residents and tourists along the coast had fled the storm's advance and ended up in improvised shelters. But there were no early reports of deaths and many felt they had escaped lightly. It appeared major damage was averted because the powerful storm did not hit large population centers. Patricia's edges brushed the major port of Manzanillo. Port director Jorge Bustos said the facility was still closed, but he expected it to be open again by Saturday afternoon."We didn't have any major damage," he said. "Sure, gates, doors, some windows, volatile or light roofs, that sort of thing, but nothing that was a risk to our operations."Further north, around 15,000 tourists had been hastily evacuated from the busy beach resort of Puerto Vallarta. But many were able to leave shelters and return to their hotels on Friday night."I don't think there's going to be a big problem with the water," said Dario Pomina, 43, manager of the Posadas de Roger hotel in the center of Puerto Vallarta. "Things are more or less okay."The city woke to light rain on Saturday and workers removed boards from windows. Public buses were up and running. But residents of Las Juntas, a village where the Ameca and Mascota rivers meet about 6 miles (10 km) from Puerto Vallarta, were being evacuated on Saturday after a rapid rise in water levels overnight caused flooding, emergency services spokeswoman Veronica Diaz said.Patricia's center hit land on Friday evening near the area of Cuixmala, located between Manzanillo and Puerto Vallarta and home to one of Mexico's most exclusive getaways, the U.S National Hurricane Center said. The resort at Cuixmala was founded by Anglo-French financier Sir James Goldsmith and has played host over the years to a colorful assortment of world leaders, musicians and eccentric billionaires.Maria Pavon, a Cuixmala reservations booker based in the inland city of Colima, said there were no guests staying when the storm hit as they all been evacuated. But there was no word yet on the state of the resort. She and colleagues had been unable to make contact as phone lines were down, Pavon said. The area around Cuixmala is sparsely populated, but there are small towns, and it was not clear yet how much damage they had suffered. At one point generating sustained winds of up to 200 mph (322 kph), Patricia was the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Western Hemisphere. Even though it lost some power before coming ashore, it was still a Category 5 storm, the strongest on the five-step Saffir-Simpson scale. Such storms are relatively rare and are capable of causing devastating destruction.Patricia's ferocious core was relatively small, with hurricane force winds extending 35 miles (55 km) from the center, the Hurricane Center said. This meant Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo were spared the worst. In Puerto Vallarta, Brian Shelley, a tourist from Chicago, rode out the storm eating burgers with other guests at a boutique hotel on a hill. After talking one of his panicked traveling companions into staying, he was glad Patricia turned out to be less punishing than was feared. "I've seen bigger waves on normal days," he joked. In Manzanillo, Ramona Delgado, 45, who manages an apartment block, spent the night in darkness at home with her two children, but said on Saturday morning the lights were back on."It scared us a lot, we thought Manzanillo was going to disappear," she said. "There are only fallen trees on our block."RAPIDLY LOSES POWER-Once inland, Patricia rapidly lost power. By mid-morning on Saturday morning it had been downgraded to a tropical depression with its maximum winds down to about 35 mph (55 kph), the Miami-based Hurricane Center said. The storm was located about 95 miles (155 km) northeast of the central city of Zacatecas, heading rapidly northeast at 24 mph (39 kph), the center said. However, Patricia could still pose a flood threat. It was expected to produce total rainfall accumulations of 8 to 12 inches (20 to 30 cm), with isolated maximum amounts of 20 inches (50 cm), over the Mexican states of Nayarit, Jalisco, Colima, Michoacan, and Guerrero through Saturday, the center said.In a brief televised address on Friday, President Enrique Pena Nieto said that "initial reports confirm that damage has been less than would be expected of a hurricane of this magnitude." But he urged Mexicans not to lower their guard yet.The government cautioned that ash and other material from the volcano of Colima, some 130 miles (210 km) from Puerto Vallarta, could combine with heavy rainfall to trigger liquid cement-style mudflows.Patricia became a tropical storm on Thursday and strengthened with stunning speed as it closed in on the Mexican coast. Meteorological authorities compared it to Typhoon Haiyan, which killed over 6,300 people in the Philippines in 2013.The strongest storm on record was Cyclone Tip which hit Japan in 1979.(With reporting by Mexico City Newsroom; Writing by Dave Graham; Editing by Gabriel Stargardter and Frances Kerry)

Why did Hurricane Patricia become a monster so quickly?-Associated Press By SETH BORENSTEIN-OCT 24,15-YAHOONEWS

WASHINGTON (AP) — Hurricane Patricia zoomed from tropical storm to record-beater in 30 hours flat like a jet-fueled sports car. Why? The Pacific storm had just the right ingredients.Plenty of warm water provided the energy for what meteorologists call explosive intensification. The air was much moister than usual, adding yet more fuel. And at the same time, upper-level crosswinds — called shear — that restrain a hurricane from strengthening were missing for much of Thursday, meteorologists said."I was really astounded," said MIT meteorology professor Kerry Emanuel. "It was over the juiciest part of the eastern Pacific."El Nino's fingerprints are all over this, meteorologists agreed. And while it fits perfectly into climate scientists' theories of what a warming world will be like, they say global warming can't quite be blamed — yet.At 10 p.m. EDT Wednesday, Patricia was a tropical storm off Mexico with 65 mph winds that forecasters expected to intensify rapidly. In fact, one forecast gave it a 97 percent chance of getting stronger fast. But it strengthened so quickly that many were surprised, said Robert Rogers at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Hurricane Research Division.By 4 a.m. EDT Friday Patricia's winds were a record for hurricanes: 200 mph."Incredible. You don't see many like this," said former hurricane hunter meteorologist Jeff Masters, meteorology director of the private Weather Underground. "In fact in the Western Hemisphere, we've never seen anything like this."In the Eastern Hemisphere, satellite estimates measured Typhoon Nancy at 215 mph in 1961 and Typhoon Violet at 205 mph also in 1961, but satellite measurements aren't as precise, Masters said. (Hurricanes, typhoons and cyclones are all the same thing with different names.)-Super Typhoon Haiyan that devastated the Philippines in 2013 was measured at 195 mph via satellite. However, most storms don't have accurate measurements because most don't get planes flown into them unless they are a threat, Emanuel said. He's part of an experiment with the U.S. Navy, dropping measuring devices from planes into Patricia for the past three days.Worldwide, this is the ninth Category 5 storm this year, which is tied for the second most on record, Masters said. Normal years are around five to six. A Category 5 storm has winds of 157 mph or higher. The eastern and northern Pacific regions have had more tropical storms than usual this season; the Atlantic has had less. That's a classic signature of the weather pattern called El Nino — with warmer waters to feed storms and favorable winds in the Pacific and unfavorable winds in the Atlantic, Masters and others said.Patricia is being fueled by near-record warm 87-degree Pacific waters at the surface that ran warm unusually deep.Climate science theory says that as the world warms, the most extreme storms will get even stronger and wetter. Patricia's record strength is "consistent with what we say" but there are too few examples to make a scientifically accurate connection, Emanuel said.Patricia and Haiyan from 2013 may be "warning signs that, hey this could be the future," Masters said.___AP videojournalist Tony Winton in Miami contributed to this report.___Online:National Hurricane Center: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/?epac-___Seth Borenstein can be followed at http://twitter.com/borenbears

2  And many nations shall come, and say, Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, and to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for the law shall go forth of Zion, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
3  And he shall judge among many people, and rebuke strong nations afar off; and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up a sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.
4  But they shall sit every man under his vine and under his fig tree; and none shall make them afraid: for the mouth of the LORD of hosts hath spoken it.
5  For all people will walk every one in the name of his god, and we will walk in the name of the LORD our God for ever and ever.

Netanyahu pledges to prevent Jewish prayer on Temple Mount-Prime minister confirms ‘increased coordination’ with Jordanian Waqf in bid to defuse tensions at volatile Jerusalem site-By Times of Israel staff and AFP October 25, 2015, 12:12 am 12

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday restated a pledge to retain intact the custom of not permitting non-Muslim prayer on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount, which has been at the center of a recent spike in unrest.“Israel reaffirms its commitment to upholding unchanged the status quo of the Temple Mount, in word and in practice,” he said in a statement. The compound, which houses the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock, was the site of two ancient Jewish temples and is sacred to both Jews and Muslims. It was captured by Israel during the 1967 Six Day War.“Israel will continue to enforce its longstanding policy: Muslims pray on the Temple Mount; non-Muslims visit the Temple Mount,” he said, following up on comments earlier by US Secretary of State John Kerry after meetings in Amman with Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.Kerry said Israel had agreed on steps to calm tensions over the flashpoint site, including 24-hour security cameras, an idea not specified in Netanyahu’s statement. The prime minister did confirm, however, that there would be “increased coordination between the Israeli authorities and the Jordanian Waqf, including to ensure that visitors and worshipers demonstrate restraint and respect for the sanctity of the area, and all this in accordance with the respective responsibilities of the Israelis authorities and the Jordanian Waqf.”Tensions over Al-Aqsa have sparked a recent wave of violence that has seen knife and gun terror attacks by Palestinians against Israelis along with daily clashes between Palestinians and Israeli security forces.Israel has repeatedly denied persistent Palestinian allegations to the effect that it seeks to change the arrangements at the site in order to allow Jews to pray there.“As we have said many times, Israel has no intention to divide the Temple Mount, and we completely reject any attempt to suggest otherwise,” Netanyahu said Saturday.Eight Israelis have been killed in attacks since the beginning of the month and dozens were injured. One Israeli Jew and one Eritrean have been killed after being mistaken for terrorists. On Friday, two Israeli parents and their three young children were wounded in a firebombing attack on their car near the West Bank settlement of Beit El, north of Jerusalem.Since the start of the month, 52 Palestinians and one Israeli Arab have died either while carrying out attacks or in clashes with Israeli security forces. On Friday, more than 80 people were wounded in clashes between Palestinians and Israeli troops in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.Members of the Jewish Home party, a senior partner in Netanyahu’s coalition, made clear their dissatisfaction with the prohibition against Jewish prayer on the Mount.“While I appreciate the prime minister’s efforts to calm the situation right now, nothing will ultimately prevent Jews from praying on the Temple Mount — to them, the holiest site in the world — not even Waqf cameras,” said Knesset member Yinon Magal. He was echoed by fellow Jewish Home member Shuli Moalem-Refaeli, who added that the “feckless” agreement on new arrangements on the Mount was a “public declaration that the State of Israel doesn’t have sovereignty over the holiest site to the Jewish people.”

Government shelves controversial ‘Jewish state bill’-Legislation, which would enshrine Israel’s status as the nation state of the Jewish people, won’t come up for ministerial debate-By Times of Israel staff October 25, 2015, 3:40 am 2

The Ministerial Committee for Legislation will not vote Sunday on a controversial bill that would enshrine Israel’s status as the Jewish state, after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu took the measure off the agenda. The bill, which has come up for debate in various forms over the last few years, will instead be discussed by a special committee comprising Knesset members from the various coalition parties, Netanyahu’s ruling Likud party said in a statement. But a source on the special committee was quoted by Haaretz as saying Saturday night that Netanyahu was seeking to “dissolve” all discussion of the bill, which was a critical source of strife in Israel’s previous government. The bill would vouchsafe a constitutional right to self-determination in Israel to Jews only, and interpret all jurisprudence in light of that assertion. It would also enshrine various symbols such as the flag and the national anthem, as well as issues such as the status of Jerusalem and the right of Jews to immigrate to the country.Previous iterations of the bill faced fierce criticism from opposition lawmakers and others, who claimed the legislation gave preeminence to Israel’s identity as a Jewish state above its democratic nature, and would effectively make non-Jewish Israelis second-class citizens.Critics also say the Jewish state bill would give way to anti-democratic legislation and discriminatory policies against Israel’s Arab population.Netanyahu’s record of staunch support for the bill was one of the reasons for his previous government falling apart in November of 2014, prompting March’s elections. Then-ministers Tzipi Livni and Yair Lapid strongly opposed the bill and threatened to bolt the coalition over the issue. After his reelection in March, Netanyahu vowed that his new government would pass a softened version of the bill. However, Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon, who chairs the coalition party Kulanu, has expressed opposition to it.According to reports, it was Kahlon’s resistance that forced Netanyahu to take the legislation off the agenda of the Ministerial Committee for Legislation for the time being.Knesset member Avi Dichter of Likud, who formulated the latest version of the bill, said the decision to shelve it was a “badge of shame” for the right and, in a statement Saturday, vowed to redouble his efforts to promote it.

Gaza kids’ show hails attackers as ‘true heroes’-WATCH: Child presenters tell young viewers that Palestinians killed by Israel are framed as terrorists, then ‘executed in cold blood’-By Times of Israel staff October 24, 2015, 10:20 pm 3

Children in the Gaza Strip participated in a kids’ TV show in which they hailed as “true heroes” Palestinians who have stabbed Israelis during the current surge of terrorism and violence. The October 4 segment, aired on the Gaza-based Al-Kitab TV, showed young girls wearing the traditional hijab and keffiyeh discussing the almost daily attacks by Palestinians on Israelis in recent weeks.“Glory and eternity to our pure martyrs. We salute their families, and we revere the young heroes who have sacrificed their lives for Jerusalem, and who carried out all those great heroic acts,” one of the girls said.“We love them and kiss their hands, because they are true heroes,” the young host added.Against a colorful animated backdrop, the girls reported the dozens of Palestinians killed by Israeli security forces were “executed in cold blood,” and asserted “the occupation” falsely claimed that they were perpetrating terror attacks.“When the settlers see a Palestinian walking down the street, they throw a knife next to him, and claim that he was trying to carry out a stabbing operation,” one said. She encouraged other mujahideen (Muslim martyrs) saying that one day “all the museums of the world” would honor them.“The Israelis fight with missile and tanks, but we fight with stones. We are not afraid. They are more afraid than us. They love life,” she concluded.Ten Israelis have been killed and dozens injured in a string of Palestinian terror attacks since the beginning of the month. At least 50 Palestinians have also died, many while carrying out stabbing attacks on Israelis, and others in clashes with security forces. The segment was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), a US-based media watchdog group, and uploaded to YouTube on Thursday.
