When 17-year-old Lawrence Yahle learned his father was dead earlier this
month at Kettering Medical Center in Ohio, he ran down the hall to see
nurses around his father's body. They weren't trying to revive him
anymore.Distraught, Lawrence pointed and shouted, "Dad, you're not going to die today."Moments later, Anthony Yahle's heart monitor showed signs of life, Dr.
Raja Nazir, his cardiologist at Kettering Medical Center, told
ABCNews.com. It wasn't a regular heart beat, but once or twice a minute,
the monitor would pick up tiny electrical movements."When I looked at the electrical activity, I was surprised," Nazir said.
"I thought we'd better make another effort to revive him."Nazir gave one of Yahle's hanging medicine bags a squeeze to restore his blood pressure and the team began working on him again."Very slowly, the heart rate was picking up," Nazir said.That was more than a week ago, on Aug. 5. Doctors thought Yahle, a
37-year-old diesel mechanic, would need a heart transplant or be in a
vegetative state the rest of his life, but he's home resting and seems
fine."I'm calling it a miracle because I've never seen anything like it," Nazir said.
Yahle's near-death experience started at 4 a.m. that day, when his wife,
Melissa Yahle, woke up and realized his breathing didn't sound right.
Melissa, who has been a nurse for seven years, said she tried
unsuccessfully to wake him up.Melissa and Lawrence performed CPR until an ambulance could arrive, and
first responders found a heartbeat after shocking Yahle several times.At the hospital, doctors expected Yahle's arteries to be clogged, but
they were clear. Things were looking positive until later that
afternoon, when Yahle's heart stopped.He "coded" for 45 minutes as doctors tried to revive him, but eventually Nazir realized it was time to call the time of death."We looked at each other," Nazir said. "We'd given him all the medicine
we had in our code cart. At some point, you have to call it off."Nazir said he wasn't sure exactly how long Yahle was "dead," before
Lawrence ran down the hall to tell his father he couldn't die that day."Suddenly that trickle of a thing came back," Nazir said. "We were lucky we saw and reacted to it, and that brought him back."
Nazir said it was "mind boggling." Melissa said she, Lawrence and the
people from their church who were praying with them witnessed a miracle.Yahle was transferred to Ohio State University, and he returned home to
West Carrollton on Aug. 10 with a defibrillator in his chest. He doesn't
remember any of the experience after he went to bed on Aug. 4."He doesn't have one broken rib," Melissa said. "He's not sore. These are things that just clinically don't happen."Yahle is set to go back to work on Monday, and doctors may do a heart biopsy to find out more about what happened.

On Nov 3 there will be a rare Hybrid Solar eclipse with ISON

Former Knesset member and ex-chairman of the National
Union party Yaakov Katz (Ketzaleh) is calling on the Bayit Yehudi MKs
to immediately depose the chairman of the religious-Zionist party,
Economics Minister Naftali Bennett. Katz says Bennett knows that the
current “peace talks” are rigged to lead to the eviction and demolition of eight Jewish communities around Shechem.Katz says Bennett is complicit in the impending demolition because he is staying in the Coalition, rather than leaving it now."I call on the Knesset members of Bayit Yehudi to convene immediately
and depose Naftali Bennett from all of his functions in the leadership
of the party, because of the impending destruction of the Torah world

a coalition in which the hareidi parties, which number 18 MKs together,
would take Lapid's place.
Bayit Yehudi was formed in a merger between parts of the National Union and the National
Religious Party prior to the last elections, following Bennett's
election as head of the party. Bennett has been widely credited with
reviving the religious-Zionist political bloc, which prior to the merger
had only 7 seats between the two parties - just over half of the
combined list's twelve seats today.But there has been a growing sense of unease among many Bayit Yehudi
supporters surrounding Bennett's decision to ally the party with the
center-left Yesh Atid party on the issue of equal army service, which

want the Americans there, as witnesses,” Hanan Ashrawi, a member of the
PLO Executive Committee, told The Times of Israel. “These are not
two-way negotiations,” she added.Israeli and Palestinian negotiators met secretly at Jerusalem’s King David Hotel on Tuesday, Israeli officials said.
A second meeting, held at a secret location the same day, reportedly
included Washington’s representative to the talks Martin Indyk.Israeli government spokesman Mark Regev
refused to comment on Ashrawi’s statements, saying Israel was bound by
an agreement with the Americans not to divulge the contents of talks.
But Ashrawi indicated that her comments did not breach those understandings.“I’m not discussing the details or the facts,”

Americans, even though the Americans are totally biased in favor of

request the removal of a party favorable to them, Ashrawi said that

seat. Zouabi appealed to the High Court, which lifted the ban against
her, enabling her to run with her Arab-nationalist Balad party and to
sit in the current Knesset.The Elections Committee banned Zouabi under a clause requiring
candidates and parties not to work against Israel's character as a

Meir Kahane from Knesset. The decision came just hours before party

The evidence of Zouabi's inciting of the violence against IDF soldiers
among Hamas-affiliated terrorists who participated in the flotilla was
insufficient, the Court decided. Citing for the majority, Justice Asher
Grunis said that “requesting that one of the basic rights available to
all citizens in a democracy be cancelled requires more than four
Internet articles for evidence.”In another opinion, Justice Salim Jubran said that “participating in
the flotilla in and of itself cannot be considered as supporting
violence.” He added that opposing Israeli policy in Gaza “and a desire
to improve the lot of Palestinians is not a show of support for
violence.” Regarding charges that Zouabi had been in contact with the
heads of Hamas before the flotilla – and that she had advance knowledge
that IDF soldiers were to be savagely attacked – Jubran wrote that there
was no proof of this either.A video clip released in 2010 showed Zouabi aboard the Marmara
standing next to a group of Turks who are armed with clubs and metal
bars, with many believing that they were among the mob that attacked the
sparsely-armed IDF soldiers who rappelled down onto the ship after it
refused to adhere to IDF orders to change course. Zouabi said repeatedly
after the incident that though she was on the ship, she had no
knowledge of any preparations for a violent attack on IDF soldiers.Speaking Thursday, Zouabi said that the High Court decision had clearly exonerated her from any evidence of wrongdoing.“After the ongoing attempts to blacken my name and incite against me
it is the responsibility of the media to publicize the reasons why I was
not guilty of anything. I once again repeat that the only threat I felt
on the Marmara was from IDF soldiers who took actions against flotilla
participants. I see my participation in the flotilla as a legitimate
political activity against the blockade of Gaza and I would certainly
participate in similar activities if given the opportunity,” she added.

Bradley Manning wants to live as a woman named Chelsea and begin hormone
treatment as soon as possible, the soldier said a day after being
sentenced to 35 years in prison for sending government secrets to
WikiLeaks.Bradley Manning sentenced to 35 years.Manning announced the
decision Thursday in a statement provided to NBC's “Today” show, asking
supporters to refer to him by his new name and the feminine pronoun. The
statement was signed “Chelsea E. Manning.”“As I transition into
this next phase of my life, I want everyone to know the real me. I am
Chelsea Manning. I am a female. Given the way that I feel, and have felt
since childhood, I want to begin hormone therapy as soon as possible,”
the statement read.Manning
received the stiffest punishment ever handed out in the U.S. for leaking
information to the media. With good behaviour and credit for the more
than three years of time served, Manning could be out in as little as
seven years, his attorney David Coombs said.Coombs told “Today” he
hoped officials at the military prison in Fort Leavenworth, Kan., will
accommodate Manning's request for hormone treatment, but the Army said
it doesn't provide it or sex-reassignment surgery.“All inmates are
considered soldiers and are treated as such with access to mental health
professionals, including a psychiatrist, psychologist, social workers
and behavioural science noncommissioned officers,” Army spokesman George
Wright said.
Coombs said he
would do “everything in my power to make sure” Manning received hormone
treatment. He did not respond to phone and emails from The Associated

with gender identity disorder — the sense of being a woman trapped in a

Paul Adkins testified as a defence witness, saying in April 2010, just a
month before Manning was arrested, the soldier emailed him a picture of
himself in a blonde wig and lipstick with a letter titled, “My
problem.”“I don't know what to
do anymore, and the only 'help' that seems to be available is severe
punishment and/or getting rid of me,” the email said. “All I do know, is
that fear of getting caught has caused me to go to great lengths to

said the email was evidence the military knew of Manning's struggles,
yet allowed him to stay in Iraq as an intelligence analyst and keep his
security clearance.Meanwhile, Coombs and
supporters said they will ask the Army to reduce Manning's sentence and

Brad's suffering is now,” Coombs told a news conference after Manning's

he will file a request early next week that Obama pardon Manning or

prohibit the practice.But a national religious-based legal and public policy group that
blocked an identical law from taking effect in California earlier this
year vowed to sue New Jersey, saying the legislation violates the First
Amendment rights of parents and therapists.The legislation (A3371) prevents any licensed therapist,
psychologist, social worker or counselors related to these professions
from using sexual orientation change efforts with a children under age
18. Offenders jeopardize their licensed status under the new law, which
does not apply to clergy, or anyone who is not licensed by the state.In his signing statement, Christie noted many leading health
organizations had determined such therapy was ineffective and harmful."The American Psychological Association has found that efforts to
change sexual orientation can pose critical health risks including, but
not limited to, depression, substance abuse, social withdrawal,
decreased self-esteem and suicidal thoughts," Christie wrote. "I believe
that exposing children to these health risks without clear evidence of
benefits that outweigh these serious risks is not appropriate."
Christie, a Catholic, had publicly stated his opposition to

Republican governor would only say, "The signing statement speaks for
itself."Liberty Counsel founder and chairman Matt Staver said his
organization "will immediately file suit" at the request of New Jersey
counselors and parents and national counseling organizations."The New Jersey governor is putting himself in every counseling room,
dictating what kind of counseling clients can receive," Staver said.
"This bill provides a slippery slope of government infringing upon the
First Amendment rights of counselors to provide, and patients to
receive, counseling consistent with their religious beliefs."The leader of the state’s leading gay rights group, Garden State
Equality’s Executive Director, Troy Stevenson praised Christie. The bill
will "protect young people from being abused by those they should trust

SUNDIVING COMET AND
FULL-HALO CME: A small comet plunged
into the sun on August 20th. Just before it arrived,
the sun expelled a magnificent full-halo CME. Click

In the final frames of the movie,
the comet can be seen furiously vaporizing. Indeed,
those were the comet's final frames. It did not
emerge again from its flyby of the hot sun. "With
a diameter of perhaps a few tens of meters, this
comet was clearly far too small to survive the intense
bombardment of solar radiation," comments Karl
Battams of the Naval Research Lab, who studies sungrazing
comets.
The CME (coronal mass ejection) came
from an explosion on the farside of the sun. Although
the CME and the comet appear to intersect, there
was probably no interaction between the two. The
comet is in the foreground and the farside CME is
behind it.
Occasionally, readers ask if sundiving
comets can trigger solar explosions. There's no
known mechanism for comets to spark solar flares.
Comets are thought to be too small and fragile to
destabilize the sun's magnetic field. Plus, this
comet was still millions of kilometers from the
sun when the explosion unfolded.
The comet, R.I.P., was a member of
the Kreutz family. Kreutz
sungrazers are fragments from the breakup of
a single giant comet many centuries ago. They get
their name from 19th century German astronomer Heinrich
Kreutz, who studied them in detail. Several Kreutz
fragments pass by the sun and disintegrate every
day. Most, measuring less than a few meters across,
are too small to see, but occasionally a bigger
fragment like this one attracts attention.
TRUE BLUE MOON?

some would say, truer definition of "Blue Moon."
Which definition is correct? Both

all folklore! The only true-blue Moon is a Moon
that actually
turns blue. And, yes, that can happen. Under
certain circumstances volcanic dust and ash from
forest fires can scatter the reds out of moonlight,
leaving only a blue-cratered
disk behind.

effect in California earlier this year vowed to sue New Jersey, saying
the legislation violates the First Amendment rights of parents and
therapists.
The new law prevents any licensed therapist, psychologist, social
worker or counselors related to these professions from using sexual
orientation change efforts with a children under age 18. Offenders
jeopardize their licensed status under the new law, which does not apply
to clergy, or anyone who is not licensed by the state.
In his signing statement, Christie noted many leading health
organizations had determined such therapy was ineffective and harmful.
“The American Psychological Association has found that efforts to
change sexual orientation can pose critical health risks including, but
not limited to, depression, substance abuse, social withdrawal,
decreased self-esteem and suicidal thoughts,” Christie wrote. “I believe
that exposing children to these health risks without clear evidence of
benefits that outweigh these serious risks is not appropriate.”
Christie, a Catholic, had publicly stated his opposition to
conversion therapy because he said he believes people are born gay.
Asked about the bill at a campaign event on Monday, the Republican
governor would only say, “The signing statement speaks for itself.”
Liberty Counsel founder and chairman Mat Staver said his organization
“will immediately file suit” at the request of New Jersey counselors
and parents and national counseling organizations.
“The New Jersey governor is putting himself in every counseling room,
dictating what kind of counseling clients can receive,” Staver said.
“This bill provides a slippery slope of government infringing upon the
First Amendment rights of counselors to provide, and patients to
receive, counseling consistent with their religious beliefs.”
Troy Stevenson, who heads the state’s leading gay rights group,
Garden State Equality, praised Christie. The bill will “protect young
people from being abused by those they should trust the most, their
parents and their ‘doctors,’” Stevenson said.
Stevenson said he hopes this “will lead to a further evolution” for
Christie on same-sex marriage, which the governor opposes. “It is our
truest hope that the governor will realize … the best way to ensure our
LGBT youth are protected from the abuse of being ostracized, is to
provide them with equality,” he said.
The hearings on the bill drew angry responses from gay rights
advocates, family groups and people who had used gay conversion therapy
to lead heterosexual lives. Arthur Goldberg, co-director of the Jersey
City-based Jews Offering New Alternatives for Healing, called the law “a
tragic mistake.”
“There are teenagers who go to mom and dad and say ‘I don’t want to
be this way,’ as long as voluntary and not coercive, what’s the
problem?” he said.
Democratic State Sen. Raymond Lesniak, one of the bill’s sponsors,
praised the governor’s actions. “We aren’t telling parents how to raise
their children with this law, we are acting to protect young people from
abuse,” Lesniak said. “If adults want to make the decision to undergo
this process, they can. But minors don’t have the same free choice.”
Mary Inzana, founder and CEO for Triad House in Ewing, one of three
LGBT teen group homes nationally, said conversion therapy can have
“destructive, devastating” effects on young people. “One of the young
teens we had in our care was previously told by his caregiver, that God
did not want him to be gay. In fact he should ‘forget’ those feelings
because he was being called to be a preacher of God’s word,” Inzana
said.
“The daily pressure to change who he was in the core of his being,
and live a lie became too much to bear. This struggle escalated into a
psychiatric crisis which ended in a suicide attempt, and
