An investigation has been launched after millions of dead shrimp were washed ashore close to two coal-fired power stations on the coast of Chile, turning the beach bright red.Environmental officials say they are investigating after dead the creatures appeared on a beach in the town of Coronel, some 330 miles south of the capital, Santiago.
Local fishermen have blamed the Bocamina 1 and 2 plants owned by regional power generator Endesa, and the Santa Maria plant controlled by Chilean power company Colbun, which they say have heated the waters, endangering their livelihood.

when I was nine but, as a fisherman, I never saw a disaster of this

Israelis now have another reason to dislike President Obama. The timing
of this trip angered Jerusalemites from the beginning and now one of our
worst nightmares has come true. A sandstorm has grounded the
President's helicopter and as a result, he is traveling by car to the
airport. That means that the main Jerusalem - Tel Aviv highway is going
to be closed from 1:30 - 4:00 pm. The Sabbath starts at 5:17 pm.

As a pale-skinned Brit, this writer is certainly no stranger to bad weather. As much as I wish my country would be blessed with a little more sunshine from time to time however, after seeing the following photos of China’s recent freakish weather, I think I’ll stick with my overcast skies and patches of drizzle.
In the early afternoon of Wednesday 20 March, residents in Guangdong, China found themselves running for cover as balls of ice the size of chicken eggs fell from the sky, smashing car windshields and pummeling the streets below.
Images of the enormous hailstones surfaced on Weibo, China’s very own version of Twitter, moments after the sudden spell of lethal precipitation. Balls of solid ice, many of the hailstones were not only equal to in size but also resembled the eggs that many of us buy from supermarkets every day. As many as nine people are thought to have died as a result of the hailstorm.
Perhaps most frightening of all, though, was the image of a car whose windshield was punctured more than 10 times by the falling ice, displaying the sheer size and weight of the hail and the force with which it fell.

A tornado that ripped through southern China has caused widespread
devastation, killing at least 24 people and leaving scores more injured.The storm hit the Daoxian province in south of the country on

This may sound a little bizarre, but a
college student by the name of Ryan Rotela, who is a junior at Florida
Atlantic University says that he was kicked out of a class for refusing
to stomp on the word Jesus. He claims that his professor, Dr. Deandre
Poole, requested that the students write the word JESUS on a piece of
paper, throw it in the floor and stomp on it. The class the professor
teaches is intercultural communications.
Ryan Rotela claims that the professor asked the class to do this and he refused. Ryan is a devout Mormon and felt uncomfortable with the request. What happened next he says, stunned him. Rotela went to the professor’s supervisor to complain about the strange request, and then he says he was suspended. Rotela was very upset and told his story to WPEC TV, which is a south Florida CBS affiliate.

WPEC made an inquiry with the school and was given this quote: “Faculty and students at academic institutions pursue knowledge and engage in open discourse. While at times the topics discussed may be sensitive, a university environment is a venue for such dialogue and debate.

FAU says the instructor was doing a classroom exercise from a textbook entitled “Intercultural Communication: A Contextual Approach, 5th Edition.”
If this is true, it is completely out of line. You should never ask a student to violate their personal religious beliefs for a class. Imagine if that were a Jewish Person, or a Muslim who was asked to profane the name of Allah. We have taken things too far. It is true that a student does not have the rights to force a classroom to believe or teach what they believe based on faith. Nor do we expect that a student will get through college without having their beliefs challenged. However asking someone to literally stomp on their faith, and their own personal moral code is crossing the line. FAU should reinstate this student immediately, and the professor should be investigated. Bigotry of any kind is not tolerated in Universities supposedly, lets put your money where you mouth is FAU. Are you going to allow bigotry towards Christians? Does your definition of Bigotry cover Christianity as well?
If this story is true, then this young man’s rights have been trampled on. He should be issued and apology and reinstated at once. Is this another part of the War On Christianity?

Obama's sandstorm
Due to strong winds and sand storms on Friday, US President Barack changed his plans to fly to Bethlehem in a helicopter, opting instead to travel in a convoy of cars. Highway 1 between Jerusalem was due to be blocked between the hours of 13:30 and 16:00.
Additionally, Obama's official farewell ceremony from Israel's Ben Gurion airport has been cancelled due to a sand storm that has enveloped central Israel. Instead, there will be a small ceremony which will take place on the tarmac.Hope he didn't make a mess of your Sabbath plans.

hit by the storms which damaged houses and 8,700 hectares of farmland.More storms bringing rain, wind and hail are forecast for the south
of the country over the next three days, according to reports by Xinhua,
the Chinese news agency.Wang Li, director of the Hunan Meteorological Administration's
division of emergency and disaster relief, said: "This kind of weather
frequently occurs during spring in Hunan, but such severity is rare."
Wang said the provincial meteorological authorities had issued orange storm alerts in 40 cities and counties across the province on Tuesday night, the second-highest level in China's three-tier colour-coded warning system."Given that the spring crop sowing season has just started in our province, the damage to plants is likely to be limited," he told China Daily, although adding that vegetable and tobacco growers may suffer economic losses.Labourers clean up the debris of a shed which was destroyed by a thunderstorm and hail in Dongguan, Guangdong province March 20, 2013.
