Table time: Pope discusses, prays, dines with Orthodox representatives
By Cindy Wooden
Catholic News Service
VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Pastors and theologians involved in ecumenical dialogue emphasize the importance of "table time" -- sharing meals -- along with serious theological discussions, shared prayer and joint action. Pope Francis spoke about his ecumenical vision March 20 and prayed with delegates from Orthodox and other Christian communities at his inaugural Mass March 19. Since March 17, he's also had breakfast, lunch and dinner with the Orthodox representatives who came to Rome for his inauguration. Pope Francis is still living at the Domus Sanctae Marthae, the Vatican guesthouse where the Orthodox delegates also were staying. They all eat together and greet each other in the common dining room. Greek Orthodox Metropolitan Tarasios of Buenos Aires and South America was one of the delegates who shared meals and prayers with the new pope. In fact, he's been doing that since then-Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio attended his enthronement in Buenos Aires in 2001. When they first saw each other March 17, they embraced. "I said to him, 'What have you done?' He said, 'Not I. They did it to me,' pointing to the cardinals," said the Orthodox leader, who was born in the United States.
During the more formal audience Pope Francis had with the ecumenical delegates, Metropolitan Tarasios presented the pope with two elegant, but very personalized gifts: an urn filled with soil from Argentina, "so he wouldn't feel far away, he'd always feel close to us," and a small chalice with the biblical inscription in Spanish, "That all would be one." In Pope Francis' remarks to the ecumenical delegates, he focused on the common task of preaching the Gospel, defending human dignity and defending creation. Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, in his remarks to the gathering, focused on the importance of continuing the formal theological dialogue so that "our Christian witness would be credible in the eyes of those near and far." Metropolitan Tarasios, who was part of the ecumenical patriarchate's delegation to Pope Francis' inauguration, said it is not a matter of either theological dialogue or practical cooperation: Christian unity requires both. "The theological dialogue by itself cannot bring about Christian unity," he said. It brings the churches closer, helps them understand each other more profoundly, and provides a serious tool for understanding where the churches agree and where they differ. But efforts also are required to bring Christians together in common prayer and joint action.
"If, in the end, the people don't accept the theological dialogue or what comes out of the theological dialogue, there won't be any Christian unity," he said. For the past five years, the international Catholic-Orthodox dialogue has been focusing on one of thorniest topics dividing the two communities: the primacy of the pope and the way his ministry has been exercised since the Great Schism of 1054. Theologians are looking first at the role of the bishop of Rome in the first millennium, hoping it will lay the foundation for a joint statement on the place and role of the pope in a reunited Christianity. In the first week after his election, Pope Francis emphasized his position as "bishop of Rome," his calling to preside in charity and his insistence that the power of the papacy is the "power of service" seen in Jesus' charge to St. Peter: "Feed my lambs. Feed my sheep." For the Orthodox, "that's how we see him -- as the bishop of Rome," Metropolitan Tarasios said. That the pope repeatedly referred to himself that way "is music to our ears." The early years of Catholic-Orthodox dialogue focused on baptism, the Eucharist and other issues the two churches basically already agreed on. The tough topic of the primacy of the pope was saved until a time when church leaders felt the relationship was strong enough to tackle it head on. Metropolitan Tarasios said Patriarch Bartholomew's presence at the pope's inauguration wasn't just the first time a patriarch of Constantinople came for the event since 1054, it was the first time ever. Even when the churches were united, a pope or patriarch sent his newly elected brother a letter delivered, perhaps, by a special emissary. Patriarch Bartholomew, he said, thought "if we want to help Christian unity, then we have to make our presence felt, not just known." The patriarch knew the former Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, who became Pope Benedict XVI in 2005, but he did not think about coming to Rome at the time. "It's a question of timing, of when the moment is right," the metropolitan said. "It's time for the Christian churches to put aside some of the historical impediments to unity," he said. Catholics and Orthodox cannot ignore or deny the things in their history that have hurt each other, Metropolitan Tarasios said, but much of those hurts are "excess baggage" that prevent the churches from credibly proclaiming Christ today. For the Orthodox, one of the issues still causing tension or pain is the existence and growth of the Byzantine-rite Eastern Catholic Churches that entered into full communion with Rome more than 400 years ago. The largest of the churches, the Ukrainian Catholic Church, was outlawed for almost 50 years by the Soviet Union, and its emergence from an underground existence has created serious problems in relations with the Russian Orthodox Church. Metropolitan Tarasios said the people whose families have been Eastern Catholics for generations are one thing, but he denounced what he said were attempts to use the Byzantine Catholic Churches to convince Orthodox Christians to become Catholic while keeping their Byzantine liturgies and spiritualities. "That's an issue we can't ignore," he said. "Quite frankly, we resent it."
On the positive side, Orthodox and Catholics are working more closely on environmental issues. Patriarch Bartholomew has been called "the green patriarch" and is one of the leading Christian proponents of a theological reflection on the moral obligation to safeguard creation. The new pope's choice of St. Francis of Assisi for his name and his repeated calls for respect for creation in his first week of ministry are important for the Orthodox because the patriarch and pope "can double their forces and their strength if they do it together," Metropolitan Tarasios said. The metropolitan said he, too, had read reports that Patriarch Bartholomew invited Pope Francis to go with him to Jerusalem in 2014 to mark the 50th anniversary of the historic first step in Catholic-Orthodox rapprochement: the 1964 meeting there between Pope Paul VI and Ecumenical Patriarch Athenagoras.
"I think it would be a great occasion," he said.- - -Editors: A video of Metropolitan Tarasios can be found at http://youtu.be/-sMLQMGAWXU. END - http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/1301324.htm

Pope Francis I holds interfaith meeting at Vatican
Newly elected Pope Francis I has met with Jewish leaders during an interfaith gathering at the Vatican.
The pope emphasised how important continued good relations with Jewish leaders was to him:
Pope Francis I:
"On my part, I would like to reassure, following the steps of my predecessor, the strong determination to follow in the path of ecumenical dialogue. I thank the Pontifical Council for Ecumenical Unity, from the very beginning, for the promotion of Christian unity, and for the help it will continue to give me."
Rabbi David Rosen spoke on how the Pope had made a good impression and how the future for Jewish-Catholic relations looked bright:
Rabbi David Rosen:
"I feel a great deal of excitement and optimism and hope and please God all those sentiments will be realised and fulfilled. One thing is very clear, all those, all those Vaticanisti who said there will never be a pope after Pope Benedict who will care about the Jewish relationship, the Jewish relationship is off the radar screen, this is a man who will not have been born before the Shoa and all those issues therefore and the Jewish-Christian relationship will not be important to him, have all been proved wrong. He is deeply committed to the Catholic-Jewish relationship. He refers specifically to the Jewish community by name, by the special effort attachments and experiences he has and therefore I think we can be very confident that the Catholic-Jewish relationships can be a central platform of Pope Francis's pontificate."
He also went on to say he thought Pope Francis should focus on improving the management of the Catholic Church:
Rabbi David Rosen:
"I don't think any mishaps during Benedict XVI's papacy had anything to do with the person of the pope nor with his attitude towards Catholic-Jewish relations. They were in effect a paradigm of mismanagement and they reflected a much broader issue and I hope that under Pope Francis there will be a much more effective management and proper collegial consultation before anything dramatic happens and it will prevent unnecessary problems happening that happened during the previous pontificate.”
In the US, a recent Reuters poll found that 85 percent of those who said they were aware of the new pope had a favourable view of him, including 94 percent of Catholics.
According to the poll two-thirds of U.S. adults, including 9 out of 10 Catholics, expect Pope Francis to be a good leader of the Catholic Church.

DANIEL 2:31-33,36-43
31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This great image,(STATUE) whose brightness was excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
32 This image's head was of fine gold,(BABYLON) his breast and his arms of silver,(MEDO-PERSIA) his belly and his thighs of brass,(GREECE)
33 His legs of iron,(ROME) his feet part of iron and part of clay.(REVIVED ROMAN EMPIRE)
36 This is the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.
37 Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory.((BABYLON)
38 And wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them all. Thou art this head of gold.(ON THE STATUE)
39 And after thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee,(MEDO-PERSIA) and another third kingdom of brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.(GREECE)
40 And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.(ROME)
41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes,(REVIDED ROMAN EMPIRE IN OUR DAY) part of potters' clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.(THE EU HAS STRONG/WEAK NATIONS)
42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.
43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.(THE 27 COUNTRIES OF THE EU ARE UNDER ONE UMBRELLA BUT SEPARATE NATIONS)
44 And in the days of these kings (WHEN THE WORLD IS LEAD BY THE EU AND DIVIDED INTO 10 WORLD REGIONS (OR WORLD GOVERNMENT),THEN) shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.(JESUS RULES ON EARTH FROM JERUSALEM FOREVER,NEVER ENDING)
DANIEL 7:2-8,17-27
2 Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea.(MEDITERRANEAN)
3 And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
4 The first was like a lion, and had eagle's wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.(BABYLON)
5 And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.(MEDO-PERSIA)
6 After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.(GREECE)
7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast,(ROME) dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
8 I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn,(WORLD DICTATOR) before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots:(3 COUNTRIES OR NATIONS OR TRADE BLOCS UPROOTED) and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
17 These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.
19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.(JESUS RULES FOREVER FROM JERUSALEM)
23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth,(7TH WORLD EMPIRE-REV 17:9-10,REVIVED ROMAN EMPIRE) which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth,(EU GETS WORLD CONTROL) and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.
24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise:(10 WORLD DIVISION GOVERNMENT) and another shall rise after them;(#11 SPAIN) and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.(3 OF THE 1ST EU NATIONS GET THE BOOT FROM THE EU OR 3 WORLD REGIONS GET DEVOURED BY SPAIN)
25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.
REMEMBER FOLKS THERE WERE 2 FEET ON THE STATUE IN DANIEL.WHICH MEANS THE OLD ROMAN EMPIRE HAD A CHRISTIAN SIDE AND A MUSLIM SIDE.THE CHRISTIAN ROMAN LEG SIDE WAS HEADQUARTERED IN ROME AND THE MUSLIM LEG SIDE WAS HEADQUARTERED IN CONSTANTINOPLE TURKEY.WITH THIS MEETING AT THE VATICAN.THE BOTH LEGS HAVE COME TOGETHER ON THE GOLDEN STATUE IN DANIEL CHAPTER 2 & 7.WE CAN OFFICIALLY SAY THE OLD ROMAN EMPIRE HAS BEEN REBUILT. THE REVIVED ROMAN EMPIRE IS SPIRITUALLY BROUGHT BACK TOGETHER.
“Bergoglio was an ordinary for followers of the Orthodox rite in Argentina” and even when he was still in his own country he had excellent relations with his “separated brethren”, explains Cardinal Achille Silvestrini, a former foreign minister and Prefect of the Congregation for Eastern Churches. Therefore “he is familiar with this tradition and respects it,” a tradition that also includes married priests. Yesterday, as well as keeping kneeling stools, the new pope handed out hosts dipped in wine at Communion, as is usual in Eastern rites.
This sends out an important message: promising continuity with Ratzinger’s liturgical reforms while paying attention to the values of the Eastern churches which could enrich Western Catholicism, in danger of stagnation, as the council of the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI) also warns. For the first time since 1054, the spiritual leader of the Orthodox Church and Patriarch of Constantinople attended the inauguration of the Pope (also Bishop of Rome) in St. Peter’s Square. Ecumenical diplomacy sprang into action as soon as the Argentine cardinal was elected. Bartholomew I is based in Istanbul (what was Constantinople in ancient times). He is considered to be the “first among equals” of the 14 Eastern patriarchs and a guiding light for the entire Orthodox community. He has highlighted the importance of bringing all churches closer together with the aim of reuniting them, churches that represent 1.5 billion believers the world over. Bartholomew told the new pontiff: “[We wish for] the continuation of our journey towards reconciliation and consolidation of the dialogue for the unity of our Sister Churches.” Then he commented: “This Pope is a good shepherd. He has shown a real closeness to the people right from the start. I was really impressed. We're meeting in private tomorrow and I intend to invite him to Istanbul.”There are also encouraging signals coming from Russia. Metropolitan Hilarion, the chairman of the Moscow Patriarchate’s department for external relations, recognises that when Bergoglio was the Archbishop of Buenos Aires, he established “good relations built on trust with the Orthodox community.” Francis is counting on the good offices of Bishop John, the head of the Orthodox Church outside Russia and based in Buenos Aires.Every year Bergoglio has attended Christmas mass in the Orthodox church of the Argentine capital. He also has members of the Greek Catholic clergy “in his sights”, whose leader in Ukraine (Major Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk) became a friend of Francis’ during his two years of service in Buenos Aires (2009-2011). Right from the time of his studies in the seminary, Bergoglio had built ecumenical relationships through his teacher, the Salesian Ukrainian priest Fr. Stepan Czmil, sent by the Vatican ministry for Eastern churches to work among his countrymen in Argentina. In September 2008 the Synod of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church began his beatification process.
In short, Bergoglio could not have had a better “ferryman” steering him towards the Orthodox world and his election revives the dialogue concerning a “communion” between Christians as invoked by the Second Vatican Council. Few in the Catholic Church’s hierarchy know the traditions, culture and liturgy of their “separated brethren” as well as Bergoglio. The Community of Sant’Egidio is also working behind the scenes and – through Conclave members Sepe and Dziwisz and the Vatican’s minister for the family, Vincenzo Paglia – has actively supported Bergoglio and is now providing him with expertise, experience and international relations.Another collaborator of Francis’ is the Catholic Archbishop of the Mother of God in Moscow, Paolo Pezzi. Moscow’s Patriarchate is at the centre of a series of scandals surrounding the luxurious, privileged lifestyles of its clergy. Pope Francis has sparked a desire for the reform of their own church among Orthodox believers.
"Holy Father Francis has expressed the desire that the heads and members of the dicasteries of the Roman Curia, as well as their Secretaries, and also the President of the Pontifical Commission for Vatican City State, continue donec aliter provideatur, that is, provisionally, in their respective positions." The awaited confirmation for the heads of the dicasteries of the Roman Curia, "suspended" since Francis' election, came yesterday in the early afternoon. Everyone is staying put for the moment, the Vatican statement said. "The Holy Father wishes to leave some time for reflection, prayer, and dialogue before any final appointment or confirmation is made."So everyone’s positions have been confirmed, but none have really been confirmed. The heads of the dicasteries, the cardinals of the congregations and the archbishops who are Presidents of Pontifical Councilskeep their places, but only for the time being, "until otherwise decided." Strangely, the statement also mentions the secretaries (departments’ number-twos) who keep their jobs when the Holy See becomes vacant and therefore do not need to have their posts reconfirmed. Their mention could signify that, although everyone is expected to continue performing their usual duties, no one can assume they will keep the same posts they currently occupy. The Vatican statement does not mention the Vatican Secretary of State Tarcisio Bertone explicitly, who was greeted publicly by the Pope two days ago in the Clementine Hall. It only mentions his role as chamberlain. But the Secretariat of State is the first of the Vatican dicasteries and therefore the temporary confirmation also applies to the 78-year-old cardinal from Italy’s Canavese area, head of Vatican diplomacy and director of the Curia machine since 2006. It is thought the replacement of the Secretary of State, who is almost 79, will be the quickest, while other substitutions may made in the coming months.Yesterday, Brazilian cardinal, Claudio Hummes, a friend of the Pope who sat next to him during the Conclave and appeared at his side on the balcony of the Central Loggia in St. Peter’s, spoke about the reform of the Curia. The cardinal, interviewed by Italian newspaper Avvenire, said: "The topic of the Roman Curia has been much discussed by us cardinals during the General Congregations. Many are waiting for a reform of the Roman Curia and I'm pretty certain that Francis will do it, and will do in the light of the Word, of essentiality, of simplicity and of the humility required by the Gospel. In the wake of the Saint from whom he took the name." The Poverello of Assisi, said Hummes, "had a great love for the hierarchical Church, for the Pope; he wanted his friars to be Catholics and to obey the 'Lord Pope', as he put it."Meanwhile, pending potential future reforms, "self-reform" has started in the Roman Curia and in whoever gravitates around the Vatican. The Pope may not wish to use the flagship vehicle of a fleet of luxury sedans but several of those who were accustomed to using them are beginning to wonder how they can continue to do so. Some men with links to the Vatican financial institutions have been left hanging: "The new Pope is not Italian, he is not European, and he is unfamiliar with the way things work here... Italy could become a country like any other." There is one particular concern meandering in the Tower built by Nicholas V, the headquarters of the IOR, the Institute for Works of Religion. Hundreds of thousands of euros were spent on just one market research study and the finger is pointed at the president of the "Vatican Bank". People who are used to using the large official vehicles of the Vatican fleet to ferry them back and forth are beginning to think that it might be much better to take a taxi. Better not to risk it. The Pope, who is used to taking the minibus with his "Cardinal brethren", standing in line for breakfast at the self-service restaurant in the Domus Sanctae Marthae and settling his hotel bill in person, could look out of the window and see that he is surrounded by people who are not getting the drift and not following suit."Self-reform" might not relate only to the Holy See, the Vatican, and the style of the Curia. It could also extend to the dioceses.
Pope Francis to diplomats: Moral relativism endangers peace
By Francis X. Rocca
Catholic News Service
VATICAN CITY (CNS) -- Moral relativism "endangers the coexistence of peoples," Pope Francis told diplomats March 22, and said a common ethics based on human nature is an indispensable condition for world peace. The pope made his remarks to the Vatican diplomatic corps in the Apostolic Palace's Sala Regia, the vast "royal hall" where popes traditionally received Catholic monarchs. Recalling the love of the poor practiced by his namesake, St. Francis of Assisi, the pope lamented both material poverty and the "spiritual poverty of our time, which afflicts the so-called richer countries particularly seriously. It is what my much-loved predecessor, Benedict XVI, called the 'dictatorship of relativism,' which makes everyone his own criterion and endangers the coexistence of peoples." "Francis of Assisi tells us we should work to build peace," Pope Francis said. "But there is no peace without truth! There cannot be true peace if everyone is his own criterion, if everyone can always claim exclusively his own rights, without at the same time caring for the good of others, of everyone, on the basis of the nature that unites every human being on this earth." The pope paid tribute the church's charitable and social services around the world, and acknowledged his particular responsibility for peacemaking, noting that his title of pontiff means a "builder of bridges with God and between people." In a characteristically personal note, the Argentine pope added that his origin in a family of Italian immigrants gave him an impetus to "work for the building of bridges." Pope Francis stressed the importance to peacemaking of interreligious dialogue, particularly with Islam."It is not possible to build bridges between people while forgetting God," he said. "But the converse is also true: It is not possible to establish true links with God while ignoring other people." The pope also underscored the need to "intensify outreach to nonbelievers, so that the differences which divide and hurt us may never prevail." Following his speech, Pope Francis spent nearly an hour individually greeting the ambassadors and their spouses. Most of the men wore white tie, tails, ceremonial sashes and medals, though some from Arab or African countries opted for their traditional dress. Most of the women had covered their heads with a black lace mantilla. The Vatican currently maintains diplomatic ties with 180 states, as well as the European Union, the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and the Palestine Liberation Organization. Pope Francis voiced hope for closer ties with "those few countries that do not yet have diplomatic relations with the Holy See," noting that some of them had sent representatives or greetings to his inauguration Mass March 19. The Vatican spokesman, Jesuit Father Federico Lombardi, said Saudi Arabia and Afghanistan, which do not exchange ambassador with the Holy See, had sent representatives to the Mass.--Editors: A video on the pope's address to the diplomats is available at http://youtu.be/wf_Sh0XcRj4.

A Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) “urgent bulletin” being sent to Embassies around the world today is advising both Russian citizens and companies to begin divesting their assets from Western banking and financial institutions “immediately” as Kremlin fears grow that both the European Union and United States are preparing for the largest theft of private wealth in modern history.
According to this “urgent bulletin,” this warning is being made at the behest of Prime Minister Medvedev who earlier today warned against the Western banking systems actions against EU Member Cyprus by stating:
“All possible mistakes that could be made have been made by them, the measure that was proposed is of a confiscation nature, and unprecedented in its character. I can’t compare it with anything but … decisions made by Soviet authorities … when they didn’t think much about the savings of their population. But we are living in the 21st century, under market economic conditions. Everybody has been insisting that ownership rights should be respected.”
Medvedev’s statements echo those of President Putin who, likewise, warned about the EU’s unprecedented private asset grab in Cyprus calling it “unjust, unprofessional, and dangerous.”
In our 17 March report “Europe Recoils In Shock After Bankster Raid, US Warned Is Next” we noted how Russian entities have €23-31 billion ($30-$40) in cross-border loans to Cypriot companies tied to Moscow, and €9 billion ($12 billion) on deposit with Cypriot banks [as compared to the €127 billion ($166 billion) being kept in similar circumstances by 60 of the United States largest corporations in offshore accounts to avoid paying American taxes] which are in danger of being confiscated by EU banksters.
Unbowed by the misery they have inflicted upon the entire continent, however, and in spite of Russian warnings, European Union officials hardened their stance against Cyprus today by announcing that if the Cypriot government did not allow the raiding of private bank accounts by Monday they would be forced to destroy their banks, which remain closed for the seventh straight day and have no signs of opening soon.
In an editorial agreeing with Russian leaders anger against the EU over Cyprus, Canada’s Globe and Mail News Service further writes:
“The parliament of Cyprus was right this week to reject a proposal to confiscate money from modest-sized bank deposits. The idea was a reductio ad absurdum of the euro zone’s policy on the sovereign debt of some of its member-countries.
It would be better for the government of Cyprus to default outright on some of its obligations rather than to seize part of the savings of the proverbial widows and orphans, as well as retirees or those approaching retirement – while purporting to levy a tax. This is especially true in a country that has deposit insurance for up to €100,000, in order to protect small savers.
Until a few years ago, Cyprus – which is really the ethnically Greek section of Cyprus, the Turkish section being a de facto protectorate of Turkey – had a fiscal surplus, but its close relationship to Greece resulted in a downturn when Greece fell into a severe recession. The government’s debt in itself is still manageable, but Cypriot banks have become shaky because of their loans to Greece.”
In the face of massive popular outrage, however, Cypriot MPs spectacularly voted earlier this week against the EU plan to steal their bank depositors money, thus leaving the Euro Zone reeling, a situation that was, in fact, created by European banksters who had forced Cyprus banks to lend money to nearly bankrupt Greece in the first place.
Even worse may be what is in store for the Americans, who on 31 January lost an unlimited US government guarantee that was granted on over $1.5 trillion of their bank deposits during the 2008 financial crisis to assure skittish customers that their cash was safe.
According to Kremlin sources, though, President Obama’s sudden visit to Israel this week, the first he has made since being elected in 2008, was to personally warn top Israelis of his regimes “plan” to begin confiscating his citizen’s bank deposits too.
Interesting to note is that the Obama regimes “master plan” to steal their citizen’s wealth that is no longer protected was detailed by the global management consulting giant, and the world’s leading advisor on business strategy, The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) who in their 2011 September report titled Collateral Damage: Back to Mesopotamia? The Threat of Debt Restructuring warned of the US governments plan confiscate up to 30% of not just the Americans people bank accounts, but also of their other wealth.
The highly respected Zero Hedge financial newsletter in commenting on this dire BCG report grimly stated:
“Denial. Denial is safe. Comforting. Religiously and relentlessly abused by politicians who don’t want nor can face reality. A word synonymous with “muddle through.” Ah yes, that “muddle through” which so many C-grade economists and pundits believe is the long-term status quo for the US and the world just because it worked for Japan for the past three decades, or, said otherwise, “just because.”
Well, too bad. As the following absolutely must read report, which comes not from some trader of dubious credibility interviewed by BBC, nor even from an impassioned executive from a doomed Italian bank, but from consultancy powerhouse Boston Consulting Group confirms, the “muddle through” is dead. And now it is time to face the facts.
What facts? The facts which state that between household, corporate and government debt, the developed world has $20 trillion in debt over and above the sustainable threshold by the definition of “stable” debt to GDP of 180%.
The facts according to which all attempts to eliminate the excess debt have failed, and for now even the Fed’s relentless pursuit of inflating our way out this insurmountable debt load have been for nothing.
The facts which state that the only way to resolve the massive debt load is through a global coordinated debt restructuring (which would, among other things, push all global banks into bankruptcy) which, when all is said and done, will have to be funded by the world’s financial asset holders: the middle-and upper-class, which, if BCS is right, have a ~30% one-time tax on all their assets to look forward to as the great mean reversion finally arrives and the world is set back on a viable path.
But not before the biggest episode of “transitory” pain, misery and suffering in the history of mankind. Good luck, politicians and holders of financial assets, you will need it because after Denial comes Anger, and only long after does Acceptance finally arrive.”
To the evidence that the masses of Americans or Europeans average citizens will begin protecting themselves against this apocalyptic outcome their remains little evidence as their so-called “mainstream” media continues to cover-up this coming catastrophe. But, and as Russia has now warned, the time for protecting oneself is fast running out, and the only survivors will be those who listened.

21 march 2013

Pope Francis reaches out to Jews, pledges cooperation
Newly-elected Pope Francis I has
reached out to Rome's Jewish community and pledged to continue to
strengthen ties between Catholics and Jews. Francis expressed hopes to
resume collaboration with the Jewish community in a letter sent to
Rome's chief rabbi Riccardo di Segni.
Di Segni, said he hoped to "contribute
to the progress that relations between Jews and Catholics" have seen
since the 1962-1965 Second Vatican Council, while noting caution that
the relationship was still "complicated".
"The dialogue with Judaism is a very
controversial issue. It is a field of research and we should find out
solutions and ways of communication that could be acceptable for both
parties. For this reason, the path presents some difficulties, because
every party risks understanding the dialogue just from its own
prospective. The interpretations are different and the histories of the
two religions are also different. Their thinking is different and their
theology, too. It is complicated. Therefore we should face the various
issues, one by one. The important thing is that there is good will in
our dealings with each other."
As Buenos Aires archbishop Francis
became known for his outreach to Islam and Judaism to improve interfaith
relations. He was lauded for his sympathetic and strong reaction to
the deadly 1994 bombing of a Jewish center in his native Argentina.Jewish-Catholic relations have improved
markedly since the Second Vatican Council was formed to address
relations between the Roman Catholic Church and the modern world. Part
of the reforms entailed the church taking a firm stance against
anti-Semitism and the age-old teaching that Jews were responsible for
the death of Christ.Much of the tensions between Judaism and
the Christian faith relations stem from how Jesus was believed to have
challenged Judaism, by claiming to be its fulfillment, something most
Jews did not believe.Whilst the tensions remain, Israel is
thought to be pleased its preferred candidate was chosen and the Chief
Rabbinate of Israel said Francis's past "good relations with the Jewish
people are well known" and was confident relations would further
improve.DANIEL 2:31-33,36-43
19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.(JESUS RULES FOREVER FROM JERUSALEM)

Orthodox Christians appear in St. Peter’s
It was the first time since 1054, that the Patriarch of Constantinople attended a Pope’s inauguration
Giacomo Galeazzi vatican city It’s the challenge that could make his name immortal and it’s the wound he has set out to heal: Francis’ dream is to end the schism that for a thousand years has divided the Catholic and Orthodox Churches. “If he succeeds, he will go down in history as the greatest pope that ever was,” say members of the Curia.“Bergoglio was an ordinary for followers of the Orthodox rite in Argentina” and even when he was still in his own country he had excellent relations with his “separated brethren”, explains Cardinal Achille Silvestrini, a former foreign minister and Prefect of the Congregation for Eastern Churches.

Curia: The Pope’s new style could mean reforms on the horizon
For now everyone remains in their place, but the heads and deputy heads of the Dicasteries may change soon
ANDREA TORNIELLI vatican city"Holy Father Francis has expressed the desire that the heads and members of the dicasteries of the Roman Curia, as well as their Secretaries, and also the President of the Pontifical Commission for Vatican City State, continue donec aliter provideatur, that is, provisionally, in their respective positions." The awaited confirmation for the heads of the dicasteries of the Roman Curia, "suspended" since Francis' election, came yesterday in the early afternoon.

DOCTOR DOCTORIAN FROM ANGEL OF GOD
then the angel said, Financial crisis will come to Asia. I will shake the world.
JAMES 5:1-3
1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.
REVELATION 18:10,17,19
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
EZEKIEL 7:19
19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.
REVELATION 13:16-18

Russian Leader Warns, “Get All Money Out Of Western Banks Now!”
