Entitled National Defense Resources Preparedness, Obama signed the executive order late Friday afternoon. Such timing is normally a deliberate ploy to prevent a controversial issue from being picked up by the news cycle. Recall that Obama signed the highly contentious National Defense Authorization Act on New Year’s Eve.Under section 201, the EO allows the federal government to take control of;Sec. 201. Priorities and Allocations Authorities. (a) The authority of the President conferred by section 101 of the Act, 50 U.S.C. App. 2071, to require acceptance and priority performance of contracts or orders (other than contracts of employment) to promote the national defense over performance of any other contracts or orders, and to allocate materials, services, and facilities as deemed necessary or appropriate to promote the national defense, is delegated to the following agency heads:
(1) the Secretary of Agriculture with respect to food resources, food resource facilities, livestock resources, veterinary resources, plant health resources, and the domestic distribution of farm equipment and commercial fertilizer;
(2) the Secretary of Energy with respect to all forms of energy;
(3) the Secretary of Health and Human Services with respect to health resources;
(4) the Secretary of Transportation with respect to all forms of civil transportation;
(5) the Secretary of Defense with respect to water resources; and
(6) the Secretary of Commerce with respect to all other materials, services, and facilities, including construction materials.

Although the executive order is an update to the almost identical EO 12919, which was signed by Bill Clinton in 1994, in Section 201(b) of the new version, the words under both emergency and non-emergency conditions have been added.In other words, the federal government is claiming the power to seize totalitarian control of the whole economy – nationalization über alles.The administration’s move to allow an executive order designed for a time of national crisis to be applied in non-emergency peace time represents a significant ratcheting up on the richter scale of martial law, a measurement Infowars has been upgrading since the late 1990′s.Just because Obama’s predecessor’s like Clinton and Bush did not use this executive order doesn’t mean it’s not anathema to the U.S. constitution. Obama may not use it either, but just as the President has promised to not use the kidnapping provisions of the NDAA which his administration pushed for, that does nothing to prevent a future administration from indefinitely detaining American citizens under the law.

America is already under a state of martial law, but many have been conditioned to accept it because the degree to which it has been implemented has not yet reached its maximum. You don’t have to witness a Waco siege every day with tanks and the government killing citizens to be under a state of martial law.
- We already have the executive branch claiming the power to have Americans abducted and imprisoned without trial under the NDAA.
- We already have the executive branch claiming the power to assassinate American citizens with no legal process whatsoever.
- We already have checkpoints manned by TSA goons as well as other militarized forces spreading across America.
- We already have the Pentagon claiming it doesn’t have to even recognize Congress to launch wars and that the only superior body it has to answer to is the United Nations.
- We already have the Department of Defense characterizing protest as low level terrorism while the federal government is busy labeling banal activities and behavior as indicative of terrorism.

Those five things alone illustrate beyond any conceivable doubt that America is already under a degree of martial law.Martial law is primarily used as a tool of the elite to rob the people blind. Did you know that the federal government claims that it can take away your constitutional rights any time that it wants to? Over the past several decades, there have been an endless parade of laws and executive orders that have been slowly and methodically carving up our rights under the U.S. Constitution. Most Americans are not even aware of the creeping totalitarianism that is happening. Most Americans just trust the authorities when they tell us that certain things must be done in order to keep us all safe.But even if we gave up all of our privacy, even if we gave up all of our liberties and our freedoms, and even if we gave the government all of our stuff they still would not be able to keep us safe. It is inevitable that evil people are going to do evil things, and if you are counting on the Obama administration to keep you safe then you are being delusional. Obama is not going to save us from anything. But Obama will gladly take away our rights and our freedoms if the American people allow him to. The Obama administration seems to have an endless lust for more power. Sadly, if we do give away our rights it will have some very serious consequences. If we freely give away all of the rights that we have been given under the U.S. Constitution it will be incredibly difficult to ever get them back. Giving up liberty for security never works, and if we want to be worthy of being called Americans then we need to start standing up for the republic that our forefathers worked so hard to build.An executive order that Barack Obama signed the other day is making headlines all over the nation. The title of the executive order is National Defense Resources Preparedness and it is actually an update of a series of previous executive orders.The original National Defense Resources Preparedness executive order (EO 8248) was issued back in 1939. This latest version is very similar to EO 12919 that was signed by Bill Clinton in June 1994. However, several very important changes have been made in this new version.

For example, in Section 201(b) the words under both emergency and non-emergency conditions have been added.So now the federal government can take control of all food, all energy, all health resources, all transportation resources and all other materials, services, and facilities in the country even if the United States is not experiencing emergency conditions.Not that the Obama administration really needed to put that in there. After all, the U.S. government has been operating under a constant state of national emergency since September 14, 2001.So the Obama administration did not really need to include a new excuse for taking control of everything.The existing state of emergency would probably work just fine.If Barack Obama woke up one day and decided to exercise the powers in this executive order, he would be able to do pretty much anything that he wanted. This executive order would essentially allow Obama to declare a state of martial law in the United States even during a time when no emergency was happening.Just check out what Section 201 of the executive order allows the federal government to take control of….

We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives that we’ve set. We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded. Barack Obama, 2008.Homeland Security has announced the creation of a new FEMA corps to tap volunteers for disaster/emergency responses. The program is a partnership between FEMA and the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS), itself managed under the Homeland Security umbrella.The Department of Homeland Security plans to start with 1,600 volunteers dispatched across the country and specially trained to provide critical disaster services during an emergency response. Volunteers are not FEMA employees, but will wear branded uniform clothing and will be directed by FEMA. DHS boasts that the entry level positions will prepare these trainees for careers in the ever-bloating disaster response bureaucracy.While this new unit may seem innocuous and even advisable in the context of helping after natural disasters (despite the abuses seen after Hurricane Katrina), the FEMA Corps takes on much more ominous overtones when one considers their likely roles under Homeland Security’s plans and provisions for responding to other disasters– states of emergency over man-made disasters (false flags for instance), economic instability, pandemics, social unrest or the like.Further, greater federal control through FEMA has proved disastrously inefficient in its own right. The failures of the feds at Hurricane Katrina are legendary. Less known are other cases, such as the fires that spread across Bastrop, Texas last year. FEMA was caught preventing numerous local bonafide fire fighters and emergency responders from giving aid or helping locals.

MK Avi Dichter (Kadima) on Sunday said that Israel should prepare for a major ground operation in Gaza, to deal with the terrorist state that has been formed in the coastal enclave.Speaking to Arutz Sheva, Dichter, who is a resident of Ashkelon which has been suffering from rocket attacks and who also headed the Southern District of the Israel Security Agency, said that Israel cannot agree to the reality that has been created in Gaza in recent years. He noted that Gaza is run by a terrorist organization that has managed to develop real military capabilities.He also noted the additional change that has occurred in Gaza as Hamas, a terrorist organization with 20,000 military men, has begun to sever its ties with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards and at the same time is strengthening its relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt. The Islamic Jihad has entered the vacuum left by Hamas, said Dichter, and it has 5,000 men with a military capability similar to that of Hamas.In order to deal with this reality, Israel should significantly expand the Iron Dome system as part of preparations for military action, according to Dichter. The scope of the batteries and the quantity of missiles of Iron Dome right now is unlikely to be enough in the face of the threat from Gaza, he said, adding that in order for Israel to prepare to destroy the military infrastructure in Gaza, it should strengthen Iron Dome so that eventually, when the IDF enters Gaza for a long operation which may continue for over a year and a half, the home front will be better protected.

He added that after it prepares to protect Israeli citizens against rockets, the IDF will have to enter Gaza for a ground operation that will include arrests, investigations and other activities that will persist over many months.Dichter, who officially announced last month that he will run for the leadership of the Kadima party, addressed the upcoming primaries in the party, which will be held on March 27.
Dichter rejected the calls that have been made to him to drop out of the race and support MK Shaul Mofaz, thus preventing current leader MK Tzipi Livni from winning. The IDF Website reports that they are equipped with a wide-view scanner, which makes it unnecessary for them to rotate like traditional radars, thus eliminating blind spots. The new radar can scan a section of the border and track multiple targets simultaneously, without leaving any area vulnerable.The radar is also sensitive to objects moving at low speeds. It is even able to pick up lizards and trees waving in the breeze -- and is presumably able to differentiate between such unthreatening movement and terrorist movement.The radar, made by Elta Systems, is based on technology that allows it to both detect and track targets while continuously monitoring the area at the same time – offering an unprecedented level of control.The Baron and Baroness radars are being currently deployed around Gaza. Differences between the two models include range and angle of detection. Their primary use will be to detect hazards approaching the border fence, locating targets that are moving on foot and in vehicles and continuing to track their progress.

An additional advantage to the new systems is their exceptionally high resolution. AMMAN (Reuters) - Rebels fought government forces in Damascus on Monday, in the most violent gun battles the Syrian capital has seen since the start of the year-long revolt against President Bashar al-Assad, opposition activists said.The clashes near the centre of Assad's power base appeared to be an attempt by rebels, who have been forced out of Homs and Idlib and came under attack in the eastern city of Deir al-Zor on Monday, to show they still pose a serious challenge.Fighting erupted after midnight in the upmarket al-Mezze district when up to six rebels fired a rocket propelled grenade at the house of an army general, said Rami Abdulrahman, who runs the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR).Quoting local residents, he said the gunmen then took refuge in a building where they battled soldiers, gunfire echoing throughout the neighborhood. Official Syrian news agency Sana said three rebels and one member of the security forces died.The armed confrontation came just two days after a double car bombing killed at least 27 people in the heart of the city, in a sign that the capital might be slowly sinking into mayhem.These clashes were the most violent and the closest to the security force headquarters in Damascus since the outbreak of the Syrian revolution,said SOHR's Rami Abdulrahman.

HUMANITARIAN HOPES

The United Nations says more than 8,000 people have been killed and some 230,000 forced to flee their homes, including at least 30,000 who have escaped abroad. The government says about 2,000 members of the security forces have been killed.Turkey has raised the prospect of setting up a buffer zone in Syria to protect those trying to flee. Turkey's Disaster and Emergency Management Department said on Monday 279 Syrians had crossed the border between March 18-19, bring the total number of Syrian refugees in the country to 16,446.The head of the International Committee of the Red Cross, speaking in Moscow where he met Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, said the humanitarian situation in Syria was likely get worse, underlining the need for urgent measures to ease the crisis.The ICRC's Jakob Kellenberger told reporters he hoped Russia would help persuade Assad to allow more access for humanitarian aid to the worst affected areas.During the meeting, the ICRC received positive indications of support on its operational priorities and its initiative of a two-hour cessation of fighting on a daily basis, ICRC spokesman Hicham Hassan told Reuters in Geneva.

County Road 98 in Polk County, Fla., was scrubbed today by a group of atheists who are protesting the Polk Under Prayer campaign, supporters of which poured olive oil on the road last year in an anointment ceremony.Mainly we want this to be a safe haven for folks who want to raise their families, explained Polk Under Prayer organizer, Dr. Richard Geringswald, according to ABC News affiliate WFTS-TV in Tampa.Asking God's protection from ne'er do wells and evil doers.Ellen Beth Wachs, the president of Humanists of Florida Association and Atheists of Florida, said that she feels unwelcome as an atheist in the county.This anointment ritual was to call out the angels to check each car that entered the county, to make sure they were Christian, and if they weren't Christian, they would either follow Christian beliefs or get put in jail, Wachs told ABC News.Wachs said the eight members of the Humanists of Florida Association who brought buckets of water to the roadway today did so in jest.They understand that a year later, there's no oil left on the roadway. It's just a symbolic gesture to show that we can poke a little bit of fun at the Polk Under Prayer gesture. We're not going to tolerate their bigotry, Wachs said.Last week, Polk Under Prayer campaign members buried bricks that were engraved with Psalm 37:9-11 beside the 12 major roadways leading into the county, praying for criminals to become Christian or be incarcerated, according to WFTV.Scott Wilder, a spokesman for the Polk County Sheriff's Office, said this claim was so ridiculous he'd rather not comment.

24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert graffed contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be graffed into their own olive tree?
25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:
27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.
28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the fathers’ sakes.

Totally Practical: Grafting Olives

Olive trees are often surrounded by a forest of seedlings which are not difficult to transplant and get going. The downside is that any fruit from these free trees is likely to be small, with flesh somewhere between poor and inedible. However, by grafting a piece from a known variety with good qualities such as Olive, Olea europaea Sevillano, it is possible to exactly reproduce those good features.

Timing is critical - grafting should take place in the middle of summer when the tree is in a growth phase. A small twig, called a scion, from the desired variety of olive is trimmed at the base and the foliage removed. The seedling, or understock, as it is known, is cut off cleanly at a low level. A vertical cut in the understock then allows the scion to be inserted beneath the bark, or cambium layer. Trim the end of the scion at an angle to allow it to be inserted into the cut on the stock. It is critical that the inner bark lines up on both parts of the graft because this is where the bonding takes place. The sap will flow through this point from the stock into the scion.

To hold this together until the stock and the scion grow as one, bind the graft with soft plastic tape. Grafting wax is applied to the cut to stop any sap loss. The wax will set quickly and it won't burn the bark. Finally, to stop the stem and foliage from losing any more moisture, cover the whole graft with a small plastic bag, just for a few days, leaving the bottom open to allow the air to flow freely.

If all goes well, new growth on the scion will indicate that the graft is successful. The tree will be a biological copy of the variety that supplied your scion wood and its fruit will be vastly superior to any produced by the original olive seedling.
