LOS ANGELES (CBS) — The LAPD is fighting crime from a high-tech war room that gives it eyes all over the city. The surveillance hub is now a model for police forces around the world and KCAL9 got an exclusive tour inside from Chief Charlie Beck.We are targets on our own soil, says Beck.We have to be ready.What began as a grass roots idea following the 9/11 terrorist attacks is now a state-of-the-art real-time analysis critical response center. It’s called RACR, and it’s located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles.This is a system that cuts through the red tape, that gets information to the people that need it,says Chief Beck. He calls it the brains of the department, twenty-four/seven.Police in the activity center monitor live feeds of city and traffic cameras, counter-terrorism information, and real-time crime mapping, with cutting edge software.If we didn’t have that we would be operating blind, says Capt. Sean Malinowski, the Commanding Officer at RACR. Essentially we’re always activated here.RACR is a critical crime-fighting tool at the center of every high profile incident in the City of Los Angeles.We have some real-time tools that help us analyze crime as it’s happening, says Malinowski.And then we feed that information out to the geographic areas and to patrol divisions.RACR is relied upon during events like dignitary visits from the Royals and President Obama, as well as the recent Occupy LA showdown and arrests.We had eyes on that, both through video cameras that the city owns, and also through video streams that were provided by the actual Occupy LA protesters,says Malinowski.Most recently, RACR was invaluable in putting an end to the Hollywood arsons.
Malinowski says RACR plotted each arson fire incident as it happened, creating a three-square-mile geographic hot spot that resulted in the quick arrest of accused fire starter Harry Burkhart.At the time he was taken into custody, this area was flooded with sheriffs and with LAPD officers, says Malinowski. Based on the fact that we kind of could see his movements in real time.RACR was born in a functioning bomb shelter, four stories below the Los Angeles Civic Center.LAPD Commander Blake Chow remembers a time when tracking crime at RACR was done by hand. There was very little technology,says Chow, and RACR had no budget.Police operated with dry erase boards, personal computers, and simple monitors.When we built RACR, there was no template to look at,says Chow.There was no police department we could go look at and ask them, how did you build it? Today LAPD’s RACR is the standard operating model for law enforcement agencies worldwide. It’s used as a guidebook on how to protect communities and fight crime.

(AP) -- Satellite image provider DigitalGlobe Inc. released photos Friday that appear to show Syrian army tanks and other armored vehicles in the city of Homs.DigitalGlobe said the images were taken late Friday morning Syrian time by the company's WorldView 2 satellite from about 480 miles above the Earth.Stephen Wood, director of DigitalGlobe's analysis center, said the photos show tanks, armored personnel carriers and other armored vehicles in the southern part of the city, some of them near apartment buildings.The satellite images show an increase in the level of army activity in and around Homs from the previous 24 hours, Wood said.
Fighting in Homs has reportedly killed hundreds of people over the past week from bombardments followed by soldiers' advances. The battle there is part of the Syrian government's attempts to suppress an 11-month-old uprising against the rule of President Bashar Assad.Wood said no battle damage was visible in the photos taken Friday, but previous images captured by the company's satellites did show the effects of fighting.Homs looks deserted, with very few cars on the streets in the satellite photos, he said.DigitalGlobe company has been gathering satellite photos of Syria since mid-2011, he said.
Cloud cover over Syria in recent days has left few opportunities for satellite photography, and the images captured Friday are hazy because of moisture in the atmosphere, Wood said.The images were taken the day that two suicide bombers attacked security compounds in the Syrian city of Aleppo, killing 28 people, according to Syrian government officials. Troops and security forces fired on anti-regime protesters as they left mosques after Friday prayers nationwide.DigitalGlobe is based in Longmont, Colo., and sells satellite imagery and analysis to clients that include the U.S. military, emergency response agencies and private companies.The company has three orbiting satellites, and a fourth is under construction.

Ron: Ever wonder why the US and Israel go on and on threatening to bomb Iran but never do? I have. The answer is simple enough. That Sunburn missile type is said to be deployed in Syria and Iran. It was once described by Rep. Dana Rohrabacher as the most dangerous anti-ship missile in the Russian, and now the Chinese, fleet.The ship borne version of this missile is launched from deck mounted quad tubes, but since Rohrabacher made his comments, Russia has adapted the Sunburn for submerged launch from submarines, air launch from Sukhoi 27s, and single surface launch from modified 40’ flatbed trucks. “As Russia and the United States prepare for their respective presidential elections, tensions between the countries are growing. The central point of contention is U.S. ballistic missile defense (BMD) plans. Russia has several levers, including its ability to cut off supply lines to the NATO-led war effort in Afghanistan, to use in the standoff over BMD, but the United States could retaliate by supporting the current protests in Russia. Moscow is willing to escalate tensions with Washington but will not push the crisis to the point where relations could formally break.
Analysis
Relations between the United States and Russia are incredibly tense as both countries prepare for their respective presidential elections in 2012. The campaign season has presented both sides opportunities to escalate tensions, but it is unclear how far each side will go. Moscow and Washington have been in a standoff over myriad issues ever since Russia began to roll back Western influence in its periphery and assert its own power. Following the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States got involved in the region intending to create a cordon around Russia to prevent it from ever becoming a global threat again. But after 2001, the U.S. focus shifted to the Islamic world, and a previously crippled Russia began to strengthen. Washington continued some of its policies of Russian containment, such as trying to give the key former Soviet states of Georgia and Ukraine NATO membership, but Eurasia was not the United States’ key focus. This gave Russia the time and opportunity to resurge into its former Soviet states. Moscow’s ultimate goal is not to recreate the Soviet Union — that entity eventually failed. Instead, Russia wants to limit the influence of external powers in the former Soviet Union and be recognized as the dominant player there. Consequently, foreign governments — particularly the United States and Europe — must shape bilateral relations within the framework of this understanding. In the past few years, Russia has been relatively successful in regaining influence in many of its former Soviet states. This brought Russian power back to its broader frontiers, especially in Central Europe, where the United States has staked a dominant position. Russia is not looking to control Central Europe, but it does not want the region to be
a base of U.S. power in Eurasia. Washington sees Central Europe as the new Cold War line — a position previously held by Germany — that halts Russia’s influence.
The Standoff: Missile Defense
Tensions between Moscow and Washington can be attributed to one primary issue: ballistic missile defense (BMD). The United States’ BMD systems are scheduled to become operational in Romania in 2015 and in Poland in 2018. It is not that Russia is concerned with the technical aspects of U.S.-led missile defense systems eroding or neutralizing Russia’s nuclear deterrent. Rather, BMD means a physical U.S. military presence in the region, showing Washington’s security commitment to Central Europe against a strengthening Russia. The United States claimed that the systems are intended to counter the rising threat from Iran. In response to this claim, Russia offered to integrate its BMD system with NATO’s system. According to Moscow, such integration would strengthen Western defenses across Eurasia — indeed, all the way to East Asia. However, Washington rejected the offer, thereby confirming Moscow’s suspicions that the BMD system is more about Russia than the Iranian threat. Accordingly, Russia made threatening gestures against the United States and its allies, ranging from support for Iran to the deployment of missiles on the borders of Central European countries. Russia’s goal was to attract Washington’s attention and shape the view inside Europe — particularly Western Europe — that Russia had offered the West partnership in missile defense but was being forced to take countermeasures against the United States.
New Leverage
In December, Russia gained a new and much more effective card to use against the United States in the BMD debate when a U.S. helicopter strike on the Afghan-Pakistani border caused the U.S.-Pakistani relationship to deteriorate. The Pakistanis responded to the strike by cutting shipments of fuel and supplies for the NATO-led war effort in Afghanistan across the Pakistani border. This left Washington and its allies with only one large supply network into Afghanistan: the Northern Distribution Network (NDN) that crosses Russia and many of its former Soviet states. Though the NDN traverses the Russian, Baltic, Caucasus and Central Asian regions, the United States knows the route depends on Moscow’s approval. Not only is Russia’s territory the center of the main route, but Moscow holds sufficient leverage in most of the other former Soviet states (particularly in Central Asia) to either formally shut down the route or have sections of it cut. Cutting the NDN would lead to an official break in relations between Russia and the United States because it would put at risk more than 130,000 U.S. and allied troops. Whereas Russia’s previous threats against the United States went unheeded, Washington may not be able to ignore this new threat.
The American Counter
At the end of 2011, it seemed that Russia was going to threaten to cut off the NDN to compel United States to change its position on BMD. But then something occurred that could give the United States more leverage against the Kremlin: Russian protests. In the lead-up to Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin’s planned return to the presidency in March, Russia’s political landscape has been rocked by instability. Several political and social shifts have occurred within Russia as the country enters a new phase. The stress of a shift in Kremlin policy, the rise of anti-Kremlin groups and personal feuds have also led to the utter breakdown of the Kremlin clan system Putin emplaced a decade ago to manage Russia. Putin is vulnerable to this political volatility. Such instability is not new to Russia under Putin, but the present situation differs from previous ones in that several crises occurred at once. Putin is already sorting through each issue and most likely will make it through the upcoming election successfully. But it would be detrimental if the situation worsened — something the United States could trigger. Putin can weather the 80,000 anti-Kremlin protesters in Moscow that gathered Dec. 24 and even the more than 100,000 that demonstrated Feb. 4 (the protesters lack sufficient funding and organization). But should the various protest groups suddenly receive cash and organizational help, Putin could have a much harder time maintaining his usual level of control. Indeed, this is not a question of Putin’s winning the presidency — there are no viable candidates from rival parties to successfully challenge him — but rather a challenge to his ability to rule Russia effectively while maintaining his image as a powerful leader of a powerful country. Washington has hinted that it is willing to back the protesters if prompted. Following Russia’s parliamentary elections in December, reports circulated that the election watchdog accusing the Russian government of election fraud had U.S. funding. Then, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton spoke against the results of the election in which Putin’s ruling party United Russia gained the majority of seats in the Duma. But the most significant signal came when newly appointed U.S. Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul arrived in Russia in January. On just his second day at his post, McFaul spent several hours meeting with representatives of various protest groups at the U.S. Embassy. (The protesters are not necessarily pro-Western, but they are willing to garner support where they can ahead of the presidential election.) McFaul is considered one of the architects of the 2009 “reset” in U.S.-Russian relations that temporarily reduced hostilities, but the Kremlin sees him as a potential threat. McFaul has said that while the United States will work with Russia on matters of mutual interest, “Western leaders must recommit to the objective of creating the conditions for a democratic leader to emerge in the long term.” Though McFaul denies trying to spur a revolution in Russia, the Kremlin is well aware that the United States has the ability to easily support anti-government groups. However, this U.S. leverage most likely will be short-lived. Following Putin’s likely re-election March 4, the protest movements will evolve into various organizations, smaller demonstrations and possibly small political parties. Putin will then have six more years as president to sort through Russia’s political factions.
The Next Escalation?
After the election, Putin will have more time and resources to devote to other large issues facing Russia, such as its standoff with the United States. Another important event is on the horizon in May: the first NATO-Russia summit since 2008, to be held in Chicago. Russia has said that if Moscow and Washington do not reach an agreement on BMD by May, then Russia will not attend the summit. This would signal a possible breakdown of NATO-Russian relations. Russia’s former envoy to NATO, Dmitri Rogozin, already linked a BMD agreement to the overall NATO-Russia relationship and the future of the NDN. As the protest movements fade, the issue of missile defense will return to the spotlight, making Moscow’s previous threats a major concern for Washington. But Moscow will be careful to not take the threat so far that it triggers a massive crisis and breakdown between the United States and Russia. Moscow might want to make the Europeans uncomfortable during the U.S.-Russian standoff, but it does not want to create a backlash and prompt the Europeans to unify with the United States over regional security. Moreover, Russia does not want Afghanistan to spin out of control, since unrest in the country most likely would spill over into Central Asia. Russia also cannot compete with the United States when it comes to a military buildup. The Kremlin is unsure of future U.S. policy on Russia, since the U.S. presidential election is also on the horizon. Russia remembers well how ill-prepared it was for a shift in Washington when Ronald Reagan became president after Jimmy Carter. This is not to say such a shift will occur in November, but Moscow cannot be certain that it will not happen. Moscow has an opportunity to escalate tensions with the United States after Russia’s presidential election, but Moscow can only push the crisis so far without creating a massive break it cannot control.

A successful joint exercise carried out Friday, Feb. 10, demonstrated the interoperability of the US Aegis and Israel's Arrow 4 ballistic missile defense systems and, most importantly, of their two radars, the US AN/TPY-2 X-band and Israel's EL/M-2080 Super Green Pine, debkafile's military sources report.It was a key milestone in the development of the US missile shield's Middle East capabilities ahead of a potential war with Iran and the fourth significant preparatory step taken in the last ten days.On the East Coast of the United States, the large-scale Bold Alligator 2012 exercise is drilling amphibian landings on a fictitious Iranian shore; in the Middle East, an American airlift this week ferried reinforcements to the Persian Gulf over Sinai; the Iranian army is in the middle of a major war game under war conditions opposite the Strait of Hormuz; and Israel is putting the finishing touches to its new Depth Command set up for operations behind enemy lines.
The joint US-Israel radar exercise Friday was a target-only tracking test over the Mediterranean. An attack on Israel was simulated by a Rafael Blue Sparrow 2 target missile launched from an F-15 fighter jet coming in from the east – the presumed direction of Iranian and Syrian missile strikes. The incoming missile was detected and tracked by two US AN/TPY-2 X-band stations and Israel's Super Green Pine radar.
One of the American stations is located on Mount Keren opposite the Egyptian border in southern Israel; the other at a Turkish air base in the southeastern town of Kurecik.US and Israeli officials said the joint test was successful but offered no further information about the order in which the three stations sighted the attacking missile or how they shared the data.The successful collaboration of these systems has elevated the US missile shield to its operational phase.
debkafile's military and Washington sources report that the test went ahead after Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu arrived in Washington Thursday, Feb. 9 to discuss urgent international action for Syria and at the same time notified US officials that his government had withdrawn its objections to the Israel-based US x-band radar station taking part in a joint exercise against a potential Iranian or Syrian missile attack.This notification was awaited before the test went ahead. It gave the Turkish foreign minister a handle for promoting his mission to gain Obama administration assent to his government's initiative on Syria.Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan is pushing for joint Turkish-Arab military intervention to be launched against Bashar Assad's brutal crackdown under cover of a humanitarian operation. He offered to meet the Americans halfway on the radar station issue to win support for this anti-Assad intervention.Monday, Jan. 30, debkafile disclosed that a high-ranking US official had arrived in Israel to refute the Turkish claims that the US X-band radar station at Kurecik was Turkish-operated, not aimed against Iranian missiles and committed to withholding data from Israel.Before he left Israel, the US official put the record straight by stating: The radar is exclusively operated by US personnel, exactly as it is here. Tens of thousands of Iranians joined state-organized rallies to mark the occasion.In the coming days the world will witness Iran's announcement of its very important and very major nuclear achievements, Ahmadinejad told a crowd at Tehran's Azadi (Freedom) Square in a speech relayed live on state television.Demonstrators carrying Iranian flags and pictures of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei chanted Death to Israel and Death to America. Kroes threatens nuclear option against Hungary

BRUSSELS - The European Commission has indicated it is ready to use its nuclear option - Article 7 on political sanctions - against Hungary if it continues to flout EU law.In a testy exchange of views between EU digital agenda commissioner Neelie Kroes and Hungary's deputy prime minister Tibor Navracsics at a European Parliament committee hearing in Brussels on Thursday (9 February), Kroes said she would ask the commission to take appropriate action if needed.Her spokesperson later confirmed to this website that she means Article 7.The EU Treaty clause says the commission can trigger a procedure to determine if an EU country is in serious and persistent breach of treaty principles.If found guilty, the other EU member states cans suspend its voting rights in the EU Council.The Kroes-Navracsics dispute concerns a set of new media laws in Hungary which appear to threaten media diversity.The commission in January already started a separate legal procedure against Budapest in January over its new constitution, said to undermine the independence of judges and the central bank.

The United Nations Wants To Crash The World Economy In Order To Save The Environment
The United Nations says that the earth is in great danger and that the way you and I are living is the problem. In a shocking new report entitled, Resilient People, Resilient Planet: A Future Worth Choosing" the UN declares that the entire way that we currently approach economics needs to be changed. Instead of focusing on things like economic growth, the UN is encouraging nations all over the world to start basing measurements of economic success on the goal of achieving sustainable development. But there is a huge problem with that. The UN says that what we are doing right now is unsustainable by definition, and the major industrialized nations of the western world are the biggest culprits. According to the UN, since we are the ones that create the most carbon emissions and the most pollution, we are the ones that should make the biggest sacrifices. In addition, since we have the most money, we should also be willing to finance the transition of the developing world to a sustainable development economy as well. As you will see detailed in the rest of this article, the United Nations basically wants to crash the world economy in order to save the environment. Considering the fact that the U.S. and Europe are in the midst of a horrible economic crisis and are already drowning in debt, this is something that we simply cannot afford.There is certainly nothing wrong with taking care of the environment. But what the United Nations wants is a fundamental restructuring of the global economy based on flawed science.
In this new UN report, we find the following statement....Achieving sustainability requires us to transform the global economy. Tinkering on the margins will not do the job.This is absolutely crucial to understand.The folks over at the UN don't just want to change things a little.Their goal is a radical transformation of the entire world.According to the United Nations, if we don't implement their recommendations the consequences will be absolutely disastrous....But what, then, is to be done if we are to make a real difference for the world’s people and the planet? We must grasp the dimensions of the challenge. We must recognize that the drivers of that challenge include unsustainable lifestyles, production and consumption patterns and the impact of population growth. As the global population grows from 7 billion to almost 9 billion by 2040, and the number of middle-class consumers increases by 3 billion over the next 20 years, the demand for resources will rise exponentially. By 2030, the world will need at least 50 percent more food, 45 percent more energy and 30 percent more water — all at a time when environmental boundaries are throwing up new limits to supply. This is true not least for climate change, which affects all aspects of human and planetary health.So what changes are needed in order for us to achieve a sustainable global economy? Well, the following are some of the disturbing recommendations that we find in the new UN report....
Raise Prices
According to the United Nations, we need to start significantly raising the prices of things that are made in an unsustainable way so that they reflect the true cost of their production....Most goods and services sold today fail to bear the full environmental and social cost of production and consumption. Based on the science, we need to reach consensus, over time, on methodologies to price them properly.
Costing environmental externalities could open new opportunities for green growth and green jobs
That means that you and I would start paying a lot more for the basic things that we need every day - food, gasoline, etc.
Carbon Taxes
The UN report also discusses the need to use regulations and taxation as tools to penalize economic activities that are not sustainable....Establish natural resource and externality pricing instruments, including carbon pricing, through mechanisms such as taxation, regulation or emissions trading systems, by 2020
This is one of the favorite things that social engineers like to do. They love to use taxation and regulations as weapons to get people to do the things they want.
Base Lending Decisions On Sustainable Development Criteria
The United Nations is actually suggesting that lending decisions be based on whether or not the money will be used for something sustainable....Reform national fiscal and credit systems to provide long-term incentives for sustainable practices, as well as disincentives for unsustainable behaviour
Considering the fact that the entire global economy is based on credit, this is a very dangerous recommendation.
Green Jobs
The UN report also says that governments all over the world should seek to create as many green jobs as possible....Governments should adopt and advance green jobs and decent work policies as a priority in their budgets and sustainable development strategies while creating conditions for new jobs in the private sector.This is something that we have seen Barack Obama try to do, but obviously he has not had much success at it.
A New Economic Paradigm
According to the UN, the very way that we define economic success needs to be changed. Instead of looking at statistics such as GDP and inflation, we should be measuring what we do by how much it gets us closer to a sustainable world....Expanding how we measure progress in sustainable development by creating a sustainable development index or set of indicators
So an economic collapse could actually be good if we make progress toward the goal of sustainable development.Wealthy Countries Funding The Sustainable Development Goals Of Poor Countries.The UN report makes it clear that you and I will be paying for sustainable development all over the world in addition to paying for our own transition to a sustainable economy....Financing sustainable development requires vast new sources of capital from both private and public sources. It requires both mobilizing more public funds and using global and national capital to leverage global private capital through the development of incentives. Official development assistance will also remain critical for the sustainable development needs of low-income countries.But considering the fact that the United States is already flat broke, where are we going to come up with all of this money?
Teach Sustainable Development To Our Children
The United Nations also believes that this philosophy of sustainable development should be taught to children in public schools all over the globe....Government and non-governmental entities should promote the concept of sustainable development and sustainable consumption, and these should be integrated into curricula of primary and secondary education.Sadly, this agenda is already being pushed on our children in schools all over the United States. When these children grow up, the concepts behind sustainable development will be second nature for them.
Population Control
Those that believe in sustainable development want to reduce carbon emissions by as much as possible.When you sit down and really think about that, it becomes quite frightening.Nearly every form of economic activity produces carbon emissions.In fact, if you just sit in your home and breathe, you are producing carbon emissions.
So to them, you and I are the problem.For those that are worried about man-made global warming, the math is simple.The more people on earth, the higher the level of carbon emissions will be.The less people on earth, the lower the level of carbon emissions will be.So those that believe in sustainable development love to promote things that will reduce the human population of the earth.In fact, we see this agenda reflected in one of the recommendations of the new UN report....Ensuring universal access to quality and affordable family-planning and other sexual and reproductive rights and health services.If more women have access to abortion facilities, then less babies will be born. For those that believe in sustainable development, that is a good thing.But the UN has been pushing this kind of agenda for a long time.For example, the United Nations Population Fund released a report back in 2009 entitled Facing a Changing World: Women, Population and Climate that included the following very chilling statement....Each birth results not only in the emissions attributable to that person in his or her lifetime, but also the emissions of all his or her descendants. Hence, the emissions savings from intended or planned births multiply with time.
This population control agenda is also being heavily promoted by many of the wealthiest people in the world. Many big philanthropists such as Bill Gates are using their money to fund research into population control measures. For example, Gates is currently funding research on cutting edge forms of birth control that could potentially be used all over the world. BBC News reports that the Gates Foundation awarded a grant to researchers from the University of North Carolina (UNC) to develop this new method of contraception.For their study, the UNC team tested ultrasound on lab rats and found that two 15-minute doses significantly reduced both sperm counts and sperm integrity. When administered two days apart through warm salt water, ultrasound caused the rats' sperm counts to drop below ten million sperm per milliliter, which is five million less than the sub-fertile range, and stay that way for up to six months.This population control agenda is one of the most frightening elements of sustainable development. Many advocates of sustainable development would actually cheer if something suddenly caused the population of the earth to drop dramatically.
Much Stronger Global Governance
The new UN report also advocates stronger international governance by bodies such as the United Nations....International institutions have a critical role. International governance for sustainable development must be strengthened by using existing institutions more dynamically and by considering the creation of a global sustainable development council and the adoption of sustainable development goals
But this has been the ultimate goal of these control freaks for a long time. The idea is that a global government and a global economy will bring a great era of peace and prosperity to all of humanity.Of course that is a complete and total lie, but there are a lot of people out there that actually believe this stuff.In fact, the economic crisis that we are going through right now has renewed calls for a global currency which would be used by the whole world.For example, you can watch banker Evelyn de Rothschild discuss the need for an international currency on Bloomberg Television in the following video....

Citizens will no longer accept governments and corporations breaching their compact with them as custodians of a sustainable future for all. In December, a Predator B drone was called in to conduct surveillance over a family farm in North Dakota as part of a SWAT raid on the Brossart family, who were suspects in the egregious crime of stealing six missing cows. Local police in this one area have already used the drone on two dozen occasions since June last year.The DHS also recently announced a plan to spend up to $50 million dollars on a spy system that has been used to hunt insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan for the purposes of emergency and non-emergency incidents within the United States.While preparing the use of surveillance drones against Americans, the U.S. government is also keen to characterize a myriad of behaviors and activities, no matter how normal or mundane, as potential indicators of terrorism, encouraging citizens to spy on each other in a chilling throwback to how people were hired as informants under the East German Stasi.

While the likes of the Guardian and other establishment leftist newspapers in Britain routinely savage anyone who dares to commit the thought crime of questioning the official story behind the 9/11 attacks or the London bombings, apparently it’s perfectly reasonable to continually imply that the wave of bombings and attacks targeting President Bashar Assad’s forces are false flags committed by the regime itself.The UK Guardian, which has completely prostrated itself as a 24-hour rolling mouthpiece for opposition fighters it habitually describes as activists, is at it again today, reacting to news that explosions have killed 17 people in an attack carried out by opposition rebels which targeted Syrian military and security buildings in the northern city of Aleppo, by insinuating the Syrian government bombed its own facility.They did the same thing when were 30 people killed by opposition rebels following two terrorist attacks in Damascus back in December.The newspaper’s live coverage of events is little more than a platform for dubious tweets sent out by anyone with a Twitter account claiming to be a Syrian activist, almost all of which claim with no evidence that Assad is killing his own forces to blame it on the opposition.Blow up people then broadcast the gory aftermath on morning TV. What an utterly disgusting regime, reads one tweet featured by the Guardian.Two explosions rock Aleppo, obviously another Regime charade on the bodies of innocent civilians and some of its cronies,writes another.
These baseless accusations could be coming from anywhere, whether they be from real Syrian activists or from within the halls of Britain’s Foreign Office. The Guardian simply regurgitates them alongside an editorial tone that affords the claims total credence, ignoring the independent observers from the Arab League who confirmed in their report that opposition fighters were using indiscriminate violence against government forces.The plausibility of terrorists targeting the Syrian regime is perfectly viable given the fact that hundreds of Libyan rebels, commanded by Abdulhakim Belhadj, a committed jihadist who fought with the Taliban against U.S. troops in Afghanistan, were airlifted into Syria last November to aid the opposition in carrying out attacks against government forces.British Special Forces are now also on the ground advising rebels. Why would Special Forces who are trained to kill be advising activists,as the Guardian describes them? The Guardian was even called out by one of its own readers, who pointed out that the fighting is actually a two-sided affair, rendering claims that Assad is engaging in genocide totally inaccurate.The definition of genocide is: the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group. At a meeting of over 40 diplomats and ambassadors held at Bar Ilan University last week, devoted to a discussion of UNRWA, Refugees and the Peace Process, three panelists, all supporters of the Two-State Solution focused on the United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) as a major obstacle to any resolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict.Without changing UNRWA, MK Einat Wilf (Azmaut) warned, the two-state solution and the peace process was in danger. Wilf unveiled a plan to restructure the controversial UN organization which has been caring for Arab Palestinian refugees and their descendants exclusively for over 60 years.Wilf announced a scoop, that she will propose Knesset action to urge ending support for UNRWA and shifting the billion-dollar organization from its support for the Palestinian right of return to specific projects that met needs,schools, hospitals and welfare, encouraged integration and worked towards resettlement.We need to delink UNRWA’s funding from (refugee) status to direct need, she said.People should be given help because they are in need, not because they are, or were refugees.One of Wilf’s suggestions is to redirect funding from UNRWA to the PA, in Judea and Samaria and Hamas in Gaza, as parts of a future Palestinian state. It’s their responsibility,she said.

The United Nations Wants To Crash The World Economy In Order To Save The Environment
The United Nations says that the earth is in great danger and that the way you and I are living is the problem. In a shocking new report entitled, Resilient People, Resilient Planet: A Future Worth Choosing" the UN declares that the entire way that we currently approach economics needs to be changed. Instead of focusing on things like economic growth, the UN is encouraging nations all over the world to start basing measurements of economic success on the goal of achieving sustainable development. But there is a huge problem with that. The UN says that what we are doing right now is unsustainable by definition, and the major industrialized nations of the western world are the biggest culprits. According to the UN, since we are the ones that create the most carbon emissions and the most pollution, we are the ones that should make the biggest sacrifices. In addition, since we have the most money, we should also be willing to finance the transition of the developing world to a sustainable development economy as well. As you will see detailed in the rest of this article, the United Nations basically wants to crash the world economy in order to save the environment. Considering the fact that the U.S. and Europe are in the midst of a horrible economic crisis and are already drowning in debt, this is something that we simply cannot afford.There is certainly nothing wrong with taking care of the environment. But what the United Nations wants is a fundamental restructuring of the global economy based on flawed science.
In this new UN report, we find the following statement....Achieving sustainability requires us to transform the global economy. Tinkering on the margins will not do the job.This is absolutely crucial to understand.The folks over at the UN don't just want to change things a little.Their goal is a radical transformation of the entire world.According to the United Nations, if we don't implement their recommendations the consequences will be absolutely disastrous....But what, then, is to be done if we are to make a real difference for the world’s people and the planet? We must grasp the dimensions of the challenge. We must recognize that the drivers of that challenge include unsustainable lifestyles, production and consumption patterns and the impact of population growth. As the global population grows from 7 billion to almost 9 billion by 2040, and the number of middle-class consumers increases by 3 billion over the next 20 years, the demand for resources will rise exponentially. By 2030, the world will need at least 50 percent more food, 45 percent more energy and 30 percent more water — all at a time when environmental boundaries are throwing up new limits to supply. This is true not least for climate change, which affects all aspects of human and planetary health.So what changes are needed in order for us to achieve a sustainable global economy? Well, the following are some of the disturbing recommendations that we find in the new UN report....
Raise Prices
According to the United Nations, we need to start significantly raising the prices of things that are made in an unsustainable way so that they reflect the true cost of their production....Most goods and services sold today fail to bear the full environmental and social cost of production and consumption. Based on the science, we need to reach consensus, over time, on methodologies to price them properly.
Costing environmental externalities could open new opportunities for green growth and green jobs
That means that you and I would start paying a lot more for the basic things that we need every day - food, gasoline, etc.
Carbon Taxes
The UN report also discusses the need to use regulations and taxation as tools to penalize economic activities that are not sustainable....Establish natural resource and externality pricing instruments, including carbon pricing, through mechanisms such as taxation, regulation or emissions trading systems, by 2020
This is one of the favorite things that social engineers like to do. They love to use taxation and regulations as weapons to get people to do the things they want.
Base Lending Decisions On Sustainable Development Criteria
The United Nations is actually suggesting that lending decisions be based on whether or not the money will be used for something sustainable....Reform national fiscal and credit systems to provide long-term incentives for sustainable practices, as well as disincentives for unsustainable behaviour
Considering the fact that the entire global economy is based on credit, this is a very dangerous recommendation.
Green Jobs
The UN report also says that governments all over the world should seek to create as many green jobs as possible....Governments should adopt and advance green jobs and decent work policies as a priority in their budgets and sustainable development strategies while creating conditions for new jobs in the private sector.This is something that we have seen Barack Obama try to do, but obviously he has not had much success at it.
A New Economic Paradigm
According to the UN, the very way that we define economic success needs to be changed. Instead of looking at statistics such as GDP and inflation, we should be measuring what we do by how much it gets us closer to a sustainable world....Expanding how we measure progress in sustainable development by creating a sustainable development index or set of indicators
So an economic collapse could actually be good if we make progress toward the goal of sustainable development.Wealthy Countries Funding The Sustainable Development Goals Of Poor Countries.The UN report makes it clear that you and I will be paying for sustainable development all over the world in addition to paying for our own transition to a sustainable economy....Financing sustainable development requires vast new sources of capital from both private and public sources. It requires both mobilizing more public funds and using global and national capital to leverage global private capital through the development of incentives. Official development assistance will also remain critical for the sustainable development needs of low-income countries.But considering the fact that the United States is already flat broke, where are we going to come up with all of this money?
Teach Sustainable Development To Our Children
The United Nations also believes that this philosophy of sustainable development should be taught to children in public schools all over the globe....Government and non-governmental entities should promote the concept of sustainable development and sustainable consumption, and these should be integrated into curricula of primary and secondary education.Sadly, this agenda is already being pushed on our children in schools all over the United States. When these children grow up, the concepts behind sustainable development will be second nature for them.
Population Control
Those that believe in sustainable development want to reduce carbon emissions by as much as possible.When you sit down and really think about that, it becomes quite frightening.Nearly every form of economic activity produces carbon emissions.In fact, if you just sit in your home and breathe, you are producing carbon emissions.
So to them, you and I are the problem.For those that are worried about man-made global warming, the math is simple.The more people on earth, the higher the level of carbon emissions will be.The less people on earth, the lower the level of carbon emissions will be.So those that believe in sustainable development love to promote things that will reduce the human population of the earth.In fact, we see this agenda reflected in one of the recommendations of the new UN report....Ensuring universal access to quality and affordable family-planning and other sexual and reproductive rights and health services.If more women have access to abortion facilities, then less babies will be born. For those that believe in sustainable development, that is a good thing.But the UN has been pushing this kind of agenda for a long time.For example, the United Nations Population Fund released a report back in 2009 entitled Facing a Changing World: Women, Population and Climate that included the following very chilling statement....Each birth results not only in the emissions attributable to that person in his or her lifetime, but also the emissions of all his or her descendants. Hence, the emissions savings from intended or planned births multiply with time.
This population control agenda is also being heavily promoted by many of the wealthiest people in the world. Many big philanthropists such as Bill Gates are using their money to fund research into population control measures. For example, Gates is currently funding research on cutting edge forms of birth control that could potentially be used all over the world. The following comes from a recent Natural News article....Mass vaccination is apparently not the only depopulation strategy being employed by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, as new research funded by the organization has developed a way to deliberately destroy sperm using ultrasound technology. BBC News reports that the Gates Foundation awarded a grant to researchers from the University of North Carolina (UNC) to develop this new method of contraception.For their study, the UNC team tested ultrasound on lab rats and found that two 15-minute doses significantly reduced both sperm counts and sperm integrity. When administered two days apart through warm salt water, ultrasound caused the rats' sperm counts to drop below ten million sperm per milliliter, which is five million less than the sub-fertile range, and stay that way for up to six months.This population control agenda is one of the most frightening elements of sustainable development. Many advocates of sustainable development would actually cheer if something suddenly caused the population of the earth to drop dramatically.
Much Stronger Global Governance
The new UN report also advocates stronger international governance by bodies such as the United Nations....International institutions have a critical role. International governance for sustainable development must be strengthened by using existing institutions more dynamically and by considering the creation of a global sustainable development council and the adoption of sustainable development goals
But this has been the ultimate goal of these control freaks for a long time. The idea is that a global government and a global economy will bring a great era of peace and prosperity to all of humanity.Of course that is a complete and total lie, but there are a lot of people out there that actually believe this stuff.In fact, the economic crisis that we are going through right now has renewed calls for a global currency which would be used by the whole world.For example, you can watch banker Evelyn de Rothschild discuss the need for an international currency on Bloomberg Television in the following video....

The report states that the peoples of the world are not going to put up with all of this inequality any longer and that they will be demanding that their national governments adopt a sustainable development agenda....The peoples of the world will simply not tolerate continued environmental devastation or the persistent inequality which offends deeply held universal principles of social justice. Citizens will no longer accept governments and corporations breaching their compact with them as custodians of a sustainable future for all. In December, a Predator B drone was called in to conduct surveillance over a family farm in North Dakota as part of a SWAT raid on the Brossart family, who were suspects in the egregious crime of stealing six missing cows. Local police in this one area have already used the drone on two dozen occasions since June last year.The DHS also recently announced a plan to spend up to $50 million dollars on a spy system that has been used to hunt insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan for the purposes of emergency and non-emergency incidents within the United States.While preparing the use of surveillance drones against Americans, the U.S. government is also keen to characterize a myriad of behaviors and activities, no matter how normal or mundane, as potential indicators of terrorism, encouraging citizens to spy on each other in a chilling throwback to how people were hired as informants under the East German Stasi.
As part of its Communities Against Terrorism program, the FBI is encouraging business owners from across the spectrum to spy on their customers.Lists of examples of suspicious behavior being sent out to everything from Internet Cafes to tattoo parlors define things like paying for a cup of coffee with cash, buying food in bulk, and showing an interest in online privacy as evidence of potential terrorist activity.The DHS has also released numerous PSAs that depict routine activities as potential signs of terrorism, including using a video camera, talking to police officers, wearing hoodies, driving vans, writing on a piece of paper, and using a cell phone recording application.The federal agency attracted much derision last week when it announced that Super Bowl vendors, including hot dog sellers, had been trained to spot terrorists under the First Observer program.Even more chilling, the feds have also begun to characterize perfectly legitimate political and economic beliefs as those held by terrorists, effectively denouncing them as thought crimes.

While the likes of the Guardian and other establishment leftist newspapers in Britain routinely savage anyone who dares to commit the thought crime of questioning the official story behind the 9/11 attacks or the London bombings, apparently it’s perfectly reasonable to continually imply that the wave of bombings and attacks targeting President Bashar Assad’s forces are false flags committed by the regime itself.The UK Guardian, which has completely prostrated itself as a 24-hour rolling mouthpiece for opposition fighters it habitually describes as activists, is at it again today, reacting to news that explosions have killed 17 people in an attack carried out by opposition rebels which targeted Syrian military and security buildings in the northern city of Aleppo, by insinuating the Syrian government bombed its own facility.They did the same thing when were 30 people killed by opposition rebels following two terrorist attacks in Damascus back in December.The newspaper’s live coverage of events is little more than a platform for dubious tweets sent out by anyone with a Twitter account claiming to be a Syrian activist, almost all of which claim with no evidence that Assad is killing his own forces to blame it on the opposition.Blow up people then broadcast the gory aftermath on morning TV. What an utterly disgusting regime, reads one tweet featured by the Guardian.Two explosions rock Aleppo, obviously another Regime charade on the bodies of innocent civilians and some of its cronies,writes another.
These baseless accusations could be coming from anywhere, whether they be from real Syrian activists or from within the halls of Britain’s Foreign Office. The Guardian simply regurgitates them alongside an editorial tone that affords the claims total credence, ignoring the independent observers from the Arab League who confirmed in their report that opposition fighters were using indiscriminate violence against government forces.The plausibility of terrorists targeting the Syrian regime is perfectly viable given the fact that hundreds of Libyan rebels, commanded by Abdulhakim Belhadj, a committed jihadist who fought with the Taliban against U.S. troops in Afghanistan, were airlifted into Syria last November to aid the opposition in carrying out attacks against government forces.British Special Forces are now also on the ground advising rebels. Why would Special Forces who are trained to kill be advising activists,as the Guardian describes them? The Guardian was even called out by one of its own readers, who pointed out that the fighting is actually a two-sided affair, rendering claims that Assad is engaging in genocide totally inaccurate.The definition of genocide is: the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group. Your writers, and the writers of many other publications, use it incorrectly all too often. What is happening in Syria is tragic, certainly could be called a crime against humanity, etc, but it is not genocide. It is civil war. Misusing genocide as frequently and mainstream journalists seem to love to do is inappropriate, unprofessional, and immoral in the sense that it is crying wolf and diminishing the severity of the word and the magnitude of the times genocide has actually occurred, commented the reader.

Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Thursday warned against some of recent statements coming from Lebanon.In the past few days it has been hinted that the Lebanon-based Hizbullah terror group may create a provocation against Israel in order to divert attention from what is happening in Syria, where President Bashar Assad continues the lethal crackdown on protesters.Defense Minister Ehud Barak warned on Thursday that sophisticated weapons could be transferred from Syria to Lebanon and to Hizbullah should Assad fall.Israeli officials have expressed concern in the past that Assad's fall would have regional consequences that could affect Israel. These include a possibility that Israel's north could be inundated with Syrian refugees, or that Assad might attack the Jewish state to shift attention from his regime.

At a meeting of over 40 diplomats and ambassadors held at Bar Ilan University last week, devoted to a discussion of UNRWA, Refugees and the Peace Process, three panelists, all supporters of the Two-State Solution focused on the United Nations Relief Works Agency (UNRWA) as a major obstacle to any resolution of the Arab-Israeli conflict.Without changing UNRWA, MK Einat Wilf (Azmaut) warned, the two-state solution and the peace process was in danger. Wilf unveiled a plan to restructure the controversial UN organization which has been caring for Arab Palestinian refugees and their descendants exclusively for over 60 years.Wilf announced a scoop, that she will propose Knesset action to urge ending support for UNRWA and shifting the billion-dollar organization from its support for the Palestinian right of return to specific projects that met needs,schools, hospitals and welfare, encouraged integration and worked towards resettlement.We need to delink UNRWA’s funding from (refugee) status to direct need, she said.People should be given help because they are in need, not because they are, or were refugees.One of Wilf’s suggestions is to redirect funding from UNRWA to the PA, in Judea and Samaria and Hamas in Gaza, as parts of a future Palestinian state. It’s their responsibility,she said.
Moreover, she proposed a drastic reduction in the numbers of those considered as refugees – about 15,000 in Gaza and 30,000 in Judea and Samaria , instead of the five million which UNRWA claims it supports.Not only is UNRWA undermining any possibility of peace, Wilf asserted, it is a self-perpetuating organization which lobbies for funding. Wilf also suggested that Arab refugees living in Arab countries and PA/Hamas administered areas should be handled by UNHCR.The panel included Prof Yaffa Zilbershats, Deputy President of BIU and legal expert who refuted the legal claim that Palestinians have the right of return.There is no right, Zilbershats asserted, referring to UNGA Resolutions 181 and 194, but rather recommendations, which have never been implemented as a whole, and include compensation and resettlement as options. There is no reference in any of these resolutions to the descendants of refugees, she noted. A supporter of the two-state solution, she warned that UNRWA’s perpetuation of the notion that millions of hostile Arabs, nearly all of whom are not refugees and have never lived in Israel, would be allowed to return to Israel prevented any progress towards peace.Prof Gerald Steinberg, moderator of the Forum, founder of the BIU Program on Conflict Management and Negotiation and member of the Begin-Sadat (BESA) Center for Strategic Studies emphasized that more than 700,000 Jews were expelled from Arab countries as a result of the Arab-Israel war in 1948 and were fully integrated into Israel, and other countries without compensation for their losses.
Roi Kedar, CEO of the Reut Institute, noted that UNRWA helped perpetuate the notion of victimization and prevented any progress towards two states for two people. He suggested constructive unilateralism, in which the Palestinian refugee issue would be diluted rather than resolved. Funds would be transferred from UNRWA to Arab states, including a Palestinian state, which would offer full citizenship, a suggestion, however, that has been rejected by all Arab leaders.The elephant in the room: UNRWA was created by the UN General Assembly and no changes are possible without UNGA approval -- unlikely since the UNGA is dominated by the bloc of Islamic nations. More problematic, UNRWA’s largest backers, the EU and US, remain committed to supporting UNRWA and have not been asked by any government – especially not Israel-- to change their policy.Regarding the possibility of changing UNRWA, a EU spokesperson said: Nothing is happening and no one is thinking about it.Reaching out to the diplomatic community may be the beginning of a new direction. It’s doubtful if this will be successful without clear, official government support – which it currently lacks.
