LONDON — Dramatic video footage released Thursday captures the moment when armed police swooped into a busy market area near London Bridge on Saturday night and shot dead three attackers who had just left a trail of bloodshed, killing eight people and wounding scores.The surveillance camera footage shows the first police car rolling forward as the attackers lunge at a man to stab him during the late night attacks. Within minutes, the attackers are shot dead and another police car arrives as people are seen running for their lives. One police officer is seen kicking the body of one of the dead attackers.During the confrontation, passers-by can be seen throwing objects at the attackers before the last victim is shown stumbling away. Shortly later, the lifeless bodies of the attackers are seen on the pavement. Some 48 rounds were fired to stop the attack within eight minutes.As investigators hunted for potential accomplices linked to the three attackers on Thursday, voters cast ballots in a general election that has spotlighted security concerns.Police briefly closed off an area of London near Charing Cross train station after a suspicious package was found. The Metropolitan Police said the package was not terror-related in the end. There have been increased security patrols throughout London.Saturday's attack was the third such deadly incident in England in just three months.Police also carried out raids to several properties in east London on Wednesday and Thursday. Six men were arrested — three in connection to London Bridge attack. LONDON — Dramatic video footage released Thursday captures the moment when armed police swooped into a busy market area near London Bridge on Saturday night and shot dead three attackers who had just left a trail of bloodshed, killing eight people and wounding scores.The surveillance camera footage shows the first police car rolling forward as the attackers lunge at a man to stab him during the late night attacks. Within minutes, the attackers are shot dead and another police car arrives as people are seen running for their lives. Shortly later, the lifeless bodies of the attackers are seen on the pavement. Some 48 rounds were fired to stop the attack within eight minutes.As investigators hunted for potential accomplices linked to the three attackers on Thursday, voters cast ballots in a general election that has spotlighted security concerns.Police briefly closed off an area of London near Charing Cross train station after a suspicious package was found. The Metropolitan Police said the package was not terror-related in the end. CAIRO — Egypt's central bank says that inflation fell to 29.7 per cent in May, down from 31.5 per cent in April, the first decline in seven months when the Egyptian pound was devalued.The figures, published by the CBE Thursday, also show that year-on-year core inflation declined to 30.5 per cent in May, down from 32.1 per cent in April. Core inflation excludes volatile commodities such as food and energy.Egypt floated its currency in November to meet a key demand set by the International Monetary Fund in exchange for a $12 billion loan to support the country's ailing economy. NORRISTOWN, Pa. — A jury that heard seven hours of testimony from a woman who says Bill Cosby drugged and assaulted her may soon hear from Cosby himself — even if he doesn't take the stand.Prosecutors are expected to show jurors an earlier deposition in which Cosby said that he routinely gave women pills and alcohol before sexual encounters and gave at least one of them quaaludes, a now-banned sedative.The suburban Philadelphia jury on Wednesday heard trial accuser Andrea Constand offer her most direct denial yet that any of their earlier meetings were romantic."It wasn't a romantic time, no," Constand, 44, of Toronto, said of an earlier fireside dinner with Cosby, a trustee at Temple University, where she directed the women's basketball team.The jury also heard Cosby's voice on a 2006 telephone call, offering Constand money for graduate school after her mother called to confront him about the encounter at his home a year earlier."She could go to school," he said. "If she wanted to do that, then I would be willing to ... pay for the schooling."Cosby, now 79, acknowledges in the deposition from Constand's related lawsuit that he gave her three blue pills before fondling her breast and penetrating her with his fingers. The only question for the jury is how to interpret the encounter. SAN HLAN, Myanmar — Fishermen joined navy and air force personnel Thursday in recovering bodies and aircraft parts from the sea off Myanmar, where a military plane carrying 122 people including 15 children crashed a day earlier, officials said.The four-engine Chinese-made Y-8 turboprop aircraft had left Myeik, also known as Mergui, heading for Yangon on a route over the Andaman Sea. It was raining, but not heavily, at the time contact was lost with it at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday, when it was southwest of the city of Dawei, formerly known as Tavoy.By nightfall Thursday, the bodies of 31 people — 21 women, eight children and two men — had been recovered, said military spokesman Gen. Myat Min Oo. All of the bodies were taken to a military hospital in Dawei, which was visited by some of the victims' relatives.One of them, Ma Mon, said her 32-year-old daughter Zin Wai Aung had been married to a military officer, but had gone on the flight without him."She went on the plane with her 3-month-old son. Both of them died," she said. "That was my beautiful grandson."In many cases, the bodies were not recovered whole, an officer involved in the recovery operation said.More than 1,000 people, including volunteers from dozens of community mutual aid societies with their vehicles, had gathered Thursday on the beach at San Hlan village in Laung Lone township, which served as a landing point for recovery operations for the bodies.The bodies, fetched from the sea and taken aboard large fishing vessels and navy ships, had been transferred to smaller boats which hauled them into shallow water at the beach, where soldiers put the body bags on stretchers and carried them to waiting trucks. The process had been delayed for several hours by heavy rain and choppy seas.Local fishermen joined nine navy ships, five military aircraft and three helicopters in the search, the military spokesman said. One of the first finds by the searchers was of two life jackets, bodies and an aircraft wheel in the sea west of Laung Lone, he announced earlier.The plane carried 108 passengers — mostly military personnel and their families — and 14 crew members, according to an announcement on the Facebook page of military Senior Gen. Min Aung Hlaing, which originally gave slightly lower numbers. Fifteen of the passengers were children. It is not unusual for such flights to carry civilians to offset transportation costs for military families stationed in the somewhat remote south.The Facebook page, the main source of official information about the crash, said the plane, carrying about 2.4 tons of cargo in addition to the 122 people aboard, was received in March last year and since then had logged 809 flying hours. It said the pilot and co-pilot both had more than 3,100 hours of flying experience.The area is about 440 miles (700 kilometres ) north of the last primary radar contact with Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which vanished on a flight from Malaysia to Beijing on March 8, 2014, with 239 people on board. AUGUSTA, Ga. — A young woman accused of leaking U.S. government secrets to a reporter was indicted by a federal grand jury as she awaited a court hearing Thursday to determine whether she must remain jailed pending a trial.Prosecutors plan to ask a judge to deny bond for 25-year-old Reality Winner, according to court records filed in the case. A grand jury returned an indictment Wednesday in U.S. District Court charging her with a single count of illegally retaining and transmitting national defence information.It's the same charge federal authorities used to arrest Winner, a government contractor and former Air Force linguist, after FBI agents interviewed her and searched her Augusta home Saturday. FBI agent Justin Garrick said in an affidavit that Winner admitted she copied a classified report containing top-secret information and mailed it to an online news organization.The charge Winner faces carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.Winner's attorney, Titus Nichols, did not immediately return a call seeking comment Thursday. Her mother told The Associated Press in an interview Wednesday she fears prosecutors will try to use the case to send a tough message that "we're not going to tolerate leakers.""I think they're going to try to make an example out of her because of the political climate right now," Billie Winner-Davis said.Winner has been jailed in neighbouring Lincoln County since her arrest, according to a booking report released by the sheriff."She's not a flight risk," said Gary Davis, Winner's stepfather. Davis said she became a linguist, speaking Arabic and Farsi, and spent four years assigned to the NSA at Fort Meade, Maryland. During that time, he said, Winner provided real-time translation to Americans conducting field missions.Davis said she received a commendation for aiding in the deaths of more than 100 enemy combatants and more than 250 enemy captures."If she made this mistake," Davis said, referring to the leaked documents, "it needs to be balanced against what she has done in the past and how she has served this country."Neither prosecutors nor Winner's parents have identified the government agency where she worked at the time of her arrest.
