Call it what you will. I call it old fashioned evil and communism. The FDA and other controlling organizations are on a roll to create invented crisis, hiding behind contrived safety issues with our farmers and food supply. The bottom line is most clear. The Marxist-Communists in control, Obama and his handlers want to control what we eat, when we eat, what we grow and how we grow it. I have covered many times on my national radio show, the Agenda 21 push, and sustainability bull rot they are forcing down our kids throats in school. Increased regulations, taxation and imposed laws have required our competent and well meaning farmers to practically slit their own throats. The FDA has been pulling continued, safety issues out of their ‘Rules for Radicals’ play book and shredding our farms and food supply.Just a few of the untold cases of frivolous assault and control on our farmers:A few months ago I was the EMCEE and spoke at a conference, which covered the manipulation, funding and dramatic push forward or Agenda 21 and sustainability. In fact their many varieties of cheese have long been the favorite of countless people. The only reason they weren’t given awards this year is because the FDA shut them down due to the contrived issue Kelli described to me on my show of them using wood shelves that long had been safe. The FDA agent hammered the Estrellas over their use of the wood shelves yet these wood shelves were recommended to them by the #1 affineur in all of France, Herve Mons. The Estrellas also pointed out that in fact, there is considerable evidence that wooden shelves actually inhibit Listeria. Their business has now been shut down over 1 year as a result of FDA action.The shocking thing is that the Estrellas tried to do everything the FDA said. They brought in some of the very top experts in the country, were willing to implement anything they suggested and racked up $30,000 in legal expenses just trying to work with the FDA. It was to no avail. They then appealed to elected officials and many organizations for help. Their reward was the FDA just placed more barriers to their re-entry into the market. They made it simply impossible. Now, along with incredible suffering they are having to sell off their cows.These controlling and intrusive actions are happening all across the country against organic food co-ops and dairy farmers, even holding some at gunpoint . The FDA has threatened Amish dairy farmers and threatened other raw milk producers. What was Communist Russia is now starting to look award winning compared to how we treat our people.Other farmers are labeled as criminals. Michael Schmidt of Ontario (CANADA,20 mILES FROM ME STAN) is one labeled now as a criminal. He is on a hunger strike at day 23or 24 now. He has operated a small dairy farm for 33 years, providing raw milk to locals by way of his cow-share operation. Once again, his milk has never made anyone sick. Even so, for 17 years he has lived with a constant battle with the authorities over his right to sell milk to the locals. Again, no one has ever gotten sick from his milk. He quotes from the FDAs own site:
There is no absolute right to consume or feed children any particular food.(p.25)
There is no deeply rooted historical tradition of unfettered access to foods of all kinds.(p.25)Plaintiff’s assertion of a fundamental right to their own bodily and physical health, which includes what foods they do and do not choose to consume for themselves and their families is similarly unavailing because plaintiffs do not have a fundamental right to obtain any food they wish.(p.26)There is no fundamental right to freedom of contract.(p.27)

So, are the officials in Canada going to let Michael die or give him his right and freedoms back? We shall see.Kelli Estrella chillingly reminded me that the FDA’s stated goal is to have all raw Dairy banned everywhere by 2020. Apparently it was not enough that the Estrella farm was completely shut down a year ago, but the FDA is still harassing and threatening them even after ruining their business. It’s almost funny in a twisted way if it wasn’t so maddening. The FDA told them they could eat their own cheese but are issuing more violations against them because they fed some of it to their pigs. You can’t make this stuff up in a B movie from hell.
I have news for the FDA, Obama and other global control networks, we do have the right to grow and eat what we want. We do have the right to own property and not be told what or how to grow things. The destruction of Dairy farmers and food providers is criminal and evil. At a landmark meeting in Poland on Tuesday, European rabbis urged Dutch senators to reject a de facto ban on kosher slaughter passed by the lower house of parliament, AFP reported.In June, the Dutch parliament voted by a majority of 116 against 30 to ban kosher slaughter in the country. The legislation requires animals to be stunned prior to slaughter, except if it is proven that animals suffer less without first being stunned.The proposal for the bill claimed that there is evidence that the practice of kosher slaughtering causes animals unnecessary pain and suffering. The truth, however, is that Jewish slaughter does not cause suffering.The bill theoretically would affect Holland’s one million Muslims as well, but Dr. Manfred Gerstenfeld, who has been following the issue closely, told Arutz Sheva in June that a large majority of Dutch Muslims do not care whether animals are stunned and then slaughtered according to the halal laws of Islam.While the bill does not affect the import of kosher meat, importing meat will be a major financial burden for observant Jews because of the higher cost.The bill must be approved by the Senate and the Government Cabinet before becoming law.

We hope that this law is not going to be ratified in the upper house and that it is not going to be accepted by the Dutch people, Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, president of the Conference of European Rabbis, was quoted by AFP as having told reporters.
Goldschmidt added that the attempts to ban kosher slaughter sound alarm bells as similar steps were taken by Nazi Germany. He voiced fears that other Jewish religious rituals could be outlawed as well.The Royal Dutch Medical Association is coming up with a suggestion to ban circumcision -- something we Jews have been doing for the last 3,500 years, he said.He added,They come and say: you’re not only inhuman towards animals, you’re inhumane towards your own children. So basically it robs us of our religious and human dignity.Rabbi Goldschmidt also hailed the support of Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski, who had said on Monday the Dutch moves pointed to a crisis of tolerance.One of its symptoms is legislation in the Dutch parliament banning the ritual slaughter of animals, which targets the Muslim and Jewish communities,Komorowski said in a statement.

Dutch support for eurozone rescue plan at risk

There are too many loose ends, said Ronald Plasterk, the Labour Party’s spokesperson for financial affairs, during a late-night debate with the government.The package isn’t strong enough and is practically off the table now that the Greeks have bombed it.Earlier in the day, Plasterk called the Greek referendum a deal-breaker. It cannot be that we work for months on the details of the rescue package, only to find out in January whether the very people it is intended to help even want it or not. I am very sorry, but a referendum is not an option.Labour’s support is crucial for the rescue package to pass in parliament. The country’s minority government normally relies on the support of the staunchly anti-EU Freedom Party, who on Tuesday called the latest episode in the eurocrisis saga a farce and wished the government lots of luck.Prime Minister Mark Rutte said he is not yet asking the parliament for approval, but confirmed that he will put the rescue package to a vote as soon as details had been worked out. He said the sudden referendum announcement by George Papandreou, Greece’s prime minister, was very unfortunate and that he would do everything in his power to stop the referendum from happening.The parliament’s reticence comes after growing discontent among Dutch voters about what is perceived as money flowing abroad.According to a new poll published on Sunday, half the respondents feel that the bail-out money would be better spent on domestic issues while almost 80 percent believe more money will be needed in the future. Two thirds said it would be better for Greece to leave the euro and almost half that it should have just defaulted on its payments.

BRUSSELS - EU supremos Nicolas Sarkozy and Angela Merkel have called Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou to a meeting in Cannes ahead of the G20 summit (3-4 November), following the shock announcement of a referendum on the EU's latest bail-out deal.EU leaders are horrified at the Greek leader's plans to put the rescue plan and its accompanying austerity measures before the people, fearing a No vote could sink the euro and plunge the European Union into political crisis.Merkel and Sarkozy are to insist to Papandreou that the only way to resolve Greek debt problems is to adhere to the deal cobbled together at an EU summit in Brussels last week.
Ignoring the fury in capitals across Europe and in the face of public opposition to his referendum plan from some of his own ministers, Papandreou won grudging backing from his cabinet colleagues late Tuesday night (1 November) for his plans.The leader pressed his cabinet colleagues over the course of a seven-hour meeting to either back him or to vote against the government in Friday's vote of confidence in parliament - where the centre-left administration's majority has been reduced to just 152 in the 300-seat chamber after yet another MP resigned this week.The cabinet expressed its support,government spokesman Elias Mossialos said after the meeting.

Given the discord within his party, it is unlikely that the prime minister will survive the confidence vote. Four MPs have said they will vote against the referendum and a series of party leaders have called on him to step down.Pressure is also mounting on the streets, with fresh protests called to coincide with Friday's vote.Meanwhile, in a development that has stoked fears of a potential military coup in the country, Papandreou on Tuesday also fired the entire high command of the armed forces along with some dozen other senior officers and replaced them with figures believed to be more supportive of the current political leadership.The heads of the country's general staff, army, navy and air force were all dismissed following the meeting of the Government Council for Foreign Affairs and Defence, the supreme decision-making body on national defense.The ministry maintains that the change in the military high command had long been scheduled. Defence minister Panos Beglitis denounced the officers' actions as anti-democratic bullying by the state within the state and instructed the prosecutor of the Athens Military Court to conduct a preliminary investigation over whether the group had perpetrated any criminal offences against military institutions.Then, in an open letter to the government, the Association of Support and Co-operation of the State Armed Forces, the professional association of full-time staff, warned that the Greek Armed Forces are monitoring the government's moves with increased concern and that their confidence in the intentions of the state have been shaken.In February this year, according to the Athens News Agency, the Hellenic Army staged a mock battle with anti-austerity protesters.The army's 71st airborne brigade, which participates in EU peace-keeping operations in an EU battlegroup together with units from Cyprus, Bulgaria and Romania, practiced feuding parties control ... conflict deterrence ...[and] crowd evacuation, according to the newswire, which quoted military sources.

World Bank shames EU on money laundering

BRUSSELS - EU member states Cyprus and the UK have been named by the World Bank as two of the world's leading destinations for money launderers.The Washington-based body in a new report noted that out of 150 high-level corruption cases exposed in recent years, the UK and UK overseas territories Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, the Isle of Man and Jersey hosted 172 companies used in criminal schemes.Tiny Cyprus hosted 11. Non-EU countries in Europe - Liechtenstein (28) and Switzerland (7) - also played a big role. Atop this, the UK and Jersey were home to 30 dirty bank accounts. Cyprus hosted 15, Switzerland 76 and Liechtenstein 10.Corruption is estimated to be at least a $40 billion dollar a year business. Every day, funds destined for schools, healthcare, and infrastructure in the world's most fragile economies are siphoned off and stashed away in the world's financial centers and tax havens, the author of the study, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a Nigerian minister, said.The report highlighted the problem of trust or company service providers (TCSPs).TCSPs can be tiny operations of one man with a website or large firms with offices and dozens of staff. They are often hired by corrupt officials to set up shell companies in offshore centres in order to funnel dirty money.The TCSPs hide the real ownership of the firms by, for example, acting as nominee directors - in effect renting their names to third parties. In many cases the TCSPs do not even know who they are working for. Out of 102 TCSPs contacted by the World Bank, 41 required only the completion of an online form, similar to buying a plane ticket.

It costs just $1,950 to set up a company in the British Virgin Islands, which has a population of 25,000 people but is home to 500,000 international business firms, a number growing by 70,000 each year.The World Bank also raised the alarm over trusts and foundations - non-profit financial entities which can also used to make dodgy bank transfers.Trusts can be impenetrable due to confidentiality laws protecting the identity of the owner. They also cause problems for asset recovery because once a trust has been formed, its assets do not legally belong to the person who gave the money. Trusts came up in just five percent of cases, but the survey noted with concern that Liechtenstein alone has more than 40,000.The UK, the Netherlands Antilles and Liechtenstein were in the spotlight for still tolerating bearer shares.
Explaining the problem, the World bank said: The person in legal possession of the physical shares is deemed to be their owner and thus the owner of the company. The problem is knowing who owns the shares at any given point in time ... No legitimate rationale exists for perpetuating bearer shares and similar bearer instruments. We recommend that all countries immobilize or abolish them.Two case studies show the complexity of money laundering structures.In the mid-1990s, former Zambian leader Frederick Chiluba had Zambian intelligence chief Xavier Chungu make his childhood friend Faustin Kabwe set up a company in the British Virgin Islands. Kabwe owned the firm, Harptree Holdings, via bearer shares. Harptree Holdings owned the Luxembourg-based company Jarban, which in turn owned Belgian firm Belsquare Residence which converted misappropriated [Zambian] funds into European real estate purchases.In 2006, the US jailed former Ukrainian prime minister Pavel Lazarenko for extortion and money laundering Apart from buying property in California, Lazarenko "allegedly" held bank accounts in Credit Suisse in Guernsey, Credit Suisse and Banque SCS Alliance in Geneva and in Vilniaus Bankas in Lithuania. World's nuclear arsenals growing, think-tank warns

BRUSSELS - The world is heading for a new era of global nuclear force modernisation and growth despite anti-proliferation rhetoric in the US and EU, a new study says.
The survey by the London and Washington-based think-tank, the British American Security Information Council (Basic), notes that every one of the world's nine nuclear powers is currently in the middle of a shopping spree.The US, which already has 8,500 warheads, plans to spend $700 billion on its nuclear capability in the next 10 years. Around $200 billion will go on modernising delivery systems and warhead production. Part will go on a fleet of 12 new nuclear submarines and long-range air-launched missiles.The other big player, Russia, which has around 11,500 warheads, plans to spend $70 billion by 2020. It aims to double the number of ballistic missiles it makes each year by investing $500 million in its Votkinsk factory. It is also buying eight new submarines, developing a strategic missile capable of carrying 10 warheads and working on a new long-range stealth bomber.Its stated military doctrine still depicts Nato expansion as its main strategic threat.

The US and Russia in Prague last year signed a new so-called Start II treaty on scrapping some types of warheads. China, Russia, the US and EU countries are also part of international pressure on Iran not to build the bomb.But the author of the Basic study, British defence expert Ian Kearns, wrote: Whatever the current rhetoric about global nuclear disarmament ... the evidence points to a new era of global nuclear force modernisation and growth.He added:There is little sign in any of these nuclear armed states that a future without nuclear weapons is seriously being contemplated.The survey does not cover UK investments, but notes that Britain has 225 warheads. France (300) is said to be putting more robust warheads on submarine missiles and on Rafale fighters on its Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier.China (currently on 240 warheads) is pointing intercontinental missiles at the US and building five new submarines capable of launching up to 60 projectiles each. India (up to 80 warheads) is working on a missile capable of hitting all of Pakistan or Beijing. And Pakistan is, among other projects, investing in small and light warheads for tactical use alongside conventional forces.In the Middle East, the region's only nuclear power, Israel (100 to 200 warheads) is building new long-range rockets capable of striking the Far East as well as buying three new submarines.

Israeli media on Wednesday (2 November) reported that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is trying to persuade his cabinet to launch an air strike on Iran to stop it getting the bomb. The move could come shortly after 8 November, when the Vienna-based nuclear watchdog, the IAEA, publishes its latest report on Iran, Israeli daily Haaretz said.But for their part, US and EU diplomats are more concerned about the prospect of Pakistan's arsenal falling into the hands of Islamist extremists if the country's government loses control.The Iranians might make frightening statements [about destroying Israel]. But it is a country with sophisticated decision-making structures and some sense of responsibility for its own welfare and for the region. The worst case scenario in Pakistan is complete chaos,a US source said.There are whole hosts of armies and militant groups already poised to try and step in if Pakistan falls apart,an EU contact added.

Op-Ed: Whither the Useless Quartet?

It does not matter what the Quartet says about peace or a so-called two state solution. The Quartet has proven since its establishment in 2002 and its so-called Roadmap for Peace a year later that it is a completely useless and ineffectual body.
Yonatan Silverman.The international Quartet is a political body comprised of the US, Russia, the European Union and the UN whose purpose is to encourage and coordinate peace negotiations between the Palestinians and Israel.Since its founding in 2002 the Quartet has launched a number of initiatives and made numerous statements regarding its positions on Palestinian/Israeli negotiations for peace. The Quartet even predicted the establishment of a Palestinian state by September 2011.What has this august group of nations achieved in nine years? What achievements can it point to? What exactly is the Quartet’s track record? The group was established in Madrid in 2002 by then Spanish Prime Minister Aznar, as a result of the escalating conflict in the Middle East, Former British PM Tony Blair is the Quartet's current Special Envoy.

The events of the Second Intifada in Israel motivated the creation of the Quartet. Launching the Intifada was Yasser Arafat’s tactic for addressing the collapse of the Oslo peace negotiations at Camp David in the summer of 2000. Arafat has been roundly indicted for the tragic failure of these talks, but he reacted with a wave of brutal terrorism nonetheless. The year 2002 represents a peak in the terrorist violence in Israel and Israel’s determined counter-reaction.The suicide attack on March 27, 2002. at the Passover seder in Netanya's Park Hotel, was the straw that broke the camel's back.IDF Operation Defensive Shield was launched two days later on March 29, and continued intensively through April 21.The Quartet’s Roadmap was a guide for Israeli funeral processions and not a productive diplomatic undertaking for peace by any means.A reserve force of 30,000 was called up and they occupied the major cities of the West Bank, including Tulkarm, Jenin, Nablus, Ramallah, Qalqilya, and Bethlehem.In response to this bitter war for survival Israel was forced to fight against Islamic terrorism, the Quartet proposed an even handed Roadmap for Peace.On April 30, 2003, following the swift collapse of Saddam Hussein's regime in Baghdad, the Bush administration released the latest plan for Israeli-Palestinian peace, a document entitled A Performance-Based Roadmap to a Permanent Two-State Solution to the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict. The declared destination of the roadmap was a final and comprehensive settlement of the Israel-Palestinian conflict by 2005.

In the summer of 2000, the government of Israel and the Palestinian leadership seemed to be on the brink of consummating a final agreement for partition and peace. However, once again the Palestinian refusal to legitimize Israel led to an eleventh-hour rejection of partition and the launching of a new war, the so-called Al-Aqsa intifada.The year 2003 was another ugly scenario in Israel with suicide bombings from the Islamic terrorists against innocent civilians and other murderous attacks. Peace was nowhere in sight. Israel was under brutal attack from vicious Palestinian terrorists.The 2003 Quartet road map comprised three goal-driven phases with the ultimate goal of ending the conflict as early as 2005.With all due respect to the merit of proposing a peace program for Israel and the Palestinians something critical is missing from the Quartet’s proposal.The roadmap is yet one more effort to engineer a two-state solution, another attempt to achieve, by diplomacy, what has yet to be achieved by history: Palestinian acceptance of Israel.It should come as no surprise that the state of Israel rejected the Quartet Road Map.On May 12, 2003 it was reported that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon had rejected Israel's main road map requirement, a settlement freeze, as impossible due to the need for settlers to build new houses and start families.On May 25, 2003 the Israeli government announced fourteen prerequisites before acceptance of any peace platform.

The first step on the road map was the appointment of the first-ever Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas (also known as Abu Mazen,) by Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat. The United States and Israel demanded that Arafat be neutralized or sidelined in the road map process, claiming that he had not done enough to stop Palestinian attacks against Israelis while in charge.The United States refused to release the road map until a Palestinian prime minister was in place. Abbas was appointed on March 19, 2003, clearing the way for the release of the road map's details on April 30, 2003.The Prime Minister's Cabinet then approved the road map with 14 reservations.President Bush visited the Middle East from June 2–4, 2003 for two summits in an attempt to push the road map as part of a seven-day overseas trip through Europe and Russia.After Bush left the region, the Palestinians launched a series of terror attacks against Israelis. This threatened to derail the road map plan. On June 15 Israeli forces entered Gaza killing a Palestinian. In the following few days, Israel continued its targeting of Hamas leaders with new helicopter attacks.Clearly, the Quartet’s Roadmap was a guide for Israeli funeral processions and not a productive diplomatic undertaking for peace by any means.In November 2003, the United Nations Security Council endorsed the road map in Resolution 1515 which called for an end to all violence including terrorism, provocation, incitement and destruction. But the requirements of Phase I of the road map were not fulfilled, and the road map was discontinued. It is thus currently effectively in limbo.

In November 2004, Yasser Arafat died at age 75 in a French hospital. Arafat's powers were divided among his officials, with Mahmoud Abbas elected head of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Rawhi Fattuh sworn in as acting president of the Palestinian Authority.In August 2005, the Israelis started their planned disengagement from the Gaza Strip, removing all of its settlements from this area and from a portion of the West Bank. This was widely endorsed around the world and the process, although unilateral on Israel's part, was coordinated with the Palestinian Authority.In early January 2006, Sharon suffered a major stroke and did not awaken from a deep coma. With Sharon in serious condition in hospital, his powers were transferred to his deputy, Finance Minister Ehud Olmert.. On March 28, Knesset elections were held, and Olmert's party, Kadima, won the most seats. On April 14, 2006 Sharon was declared permanently disabled, and Olmert was named interim Prime Minister, becoming Prime Minister on May 4.It was Prime Mininster Olmert who oversaw the disastrous Israeli disengagement from the Gaza perimeter communities. This was a tremendous political and social tragedy on every plane. And the country is still licking its wounds from this six years laterThe Quartet for its part however reacted positively.Kofi Annan, UN Secretary General, commented on August 18, 2005 on what he called Israeli Prime Minister Sharon’s courageous decision to carry through with the painful process of disengagement. And what rewards did Israel receive following the bold disengagement from the Gaza perimeter communities? Over the next two years the Hamas Islamic terror gang which controls Gaza fired thousands of lethal rockets at Israel’s southern communities, particularly Sderot.

Israel began planning for a military operation as early as six months before the invasion of Gaza by collecting critical intelligence on potential targets. Defense minister Ehud Barak stated that the offensive was the result of Israel’s "patience running out" over the rocket attacks According to Israeli officials, its subsequent December 27 offensive took Hamas by surprise, thereby increasing terrorist casualties. This was the launch of Operation Cast Lead, which lasted a few weeks and did its job. Hamas halted its massive launching of lethal rockets into Israeli territory. Although they continue to launch rockets and mortars at Israel and IDF forces from time to time.The Quartet issued no statement on Operation Cast Lead.The United Nations reaction to Operation Cast Lead was the Goldstone Report however.The Quartet never issued a statement pro or con about the malicious deceitful Goldstone Report either.What about Annapolis? The Annapolis Conference was a Middle East peace conference held on November 27, 2007, at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, USA. The conference marked the first time a two-state solution was articulated as the mutually agreed-upon outline for addressing the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The conference ended with the issuing of a joint statement from all parties.Needless to say, no positive results whatsoever came out of the vaunted Annapolis Conference.There is no record of a Quartet statement on Israel’s 2006 Second Lebanon War, but this is perhaps because it was a Lebanese not a Palestinian issue.But the nonexistence of a Quartet statement on the Second Lebanon War is immaterial. It does not matter one bit what the Quartet says about issues concerning Israeli Palestinian peace or a so-called two state solution. The Quartet has proven since its establishment in 2002 and the launch of the so-called Roadmap for Peace a year later that it is a completely useless and ineffectual body.And its idea of establishing a Palestinian state in the UN is comparable to a woman who believes she can give birth in one month following conception. This is not likely to happen in this or any universe. The only state the Palestinians will achieve through the auspices of the UN is a state of mind.

Unesco vote highlights EU split on Palestine

BRUSSELS - Just five EU countries voted No on admitting Palestine to the UN heritage agency, Unesco, in an indication of loyalties on the big question of UN membership.
The Czech Republic, Lithuania, Germany, the Netherlands and Sweden voted against the move at the Paris-based agency on Monday (31 October).Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Finland, France, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, Malta, Slovenia and Spain voted Yes. Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia and the UK abstained.Amid wide support from Muslim, African and Latin American countries, Palestine won the vote by 107 to 14 with 52 abstentions.The US and Israel said in response to the development that they will stop funding Unesco.

The move will cost the body, which sponsors science projects and protects heritage sites, $90 million a year - more than a fifth of its income.I am worried about the stability of its budget, Unesco chief Irina Bokova noted.For his part, Palestinian foreign minister Riad Malki said the vote is in no way linked to our request to join the United Nations.But the result is an indication of how EU countries might vote in the UN General Assembly (UNGA) on upgrading Palestine's status to a non-member state like the Vatican. It also highlights divisions in EU foreign policy, with the bloc's three main powers - France, Germany and the UK - each voting a different way.Palestine applied for full UN membership in September in a bid to protect its territory from Israeli settlements.The application is doomed because it has no majority in the UN Security Council. Even if it did, the US would veto it. But a UNGA-level upgrade to a non-member state would still be a diplomatic victory and would give Palestine new rights, such as bringing cases against Israel to the International Criminal Court in the Hague.The EU's official position is that Israel and Palestine should resume peace talks.Israel in the past two months authorised thousands of new homes for Jews on Palestinian land, however. Its foreign minister has launched verbal attacks on Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. Details are emerging of the plans approved by the government Tuesday for new construction in Judea and Samaria, as punishment to the Palestinian Authority (PA) for its unilateral moves to gain UN recognition as a state. The plan was approved by an eight member inner cabinet and is said to be the first installment in a larger plan to be decided upon in the near future. It also includes a freezing of the transfer of funds to the PA under extant agreements.Makor Rishon newspaper wrote Wednesday that the construction approved includes 277 new housing units in Efrat, about 2,000 units at Har Homa and Ramot, and another 40 units in Maaleh Adumim.
Sources close to the Prime Minister told the paper that these are final approval for construction and not just a bureaucratic step toward that aim, and that the projects are new ones, not recycled projects – i.e., ones approved in the past and made to seem as if they were newly approved.Sources in Netanyahu's bureau were quoted as saying he was aware of the international implications of the decision, but chose to go down the difficult path.All the construction approved is located withun the so-called settlement blocs that are to remain in Israeli sovereignty is any future deal with the (PA). Israel continues, meanwhile, to tear down communities built in areas it believes may be handed over to Arab hands in a peace deal.

7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.

Parts of the Israeli press, led by high-circulation newspaper Yediot Acharonot, are trying to sabotage a possible Israeli attack on Iran's nuclear facilities by lifting the veil of secrecy from the matter and turning it into the talk of the town.Minister Benny Begin blasted former senior members of the security establishment who he said are creating the public debate, without naming them. The discussion in the press is insane anarchy, an evil deed that results from some people's egomania, he said.Minister Dan Meridor called the debate abnormal and worse than the leaks by Anat Kam.He added:I do not think there was ever a debate like this. Not everything must come up for public debate.A daily column in Yediot asks, Should Israel attack in Iran?. While the headline is followed by both pro and con columns, media watchdog The Seventh Eye explains that the newspaper's answer is obviously no.The website's Shuki Tausig explains: The no peeks out of the way the matter is presented, is hinted in the analysis columns and most of all, hovers overhead as the only possible meaning of holding a public debate on the matter.

Other newspapers and press organizations have followed Yediot Acharonot's lead and have begun hosting a public debate on the possibility of an attack. As a result, the Knesset, too, has started talking about the matter. MK Shelly Yechimovich, head of Labor, is quoted as saying I am warning against a megalomaniacal adventure in Iran.
However, Yechimovich herself went on the air on Channel 10 and said that holding the debate publicly shows a complete lack of responsibility and indicates an inability of the leaders to work quietly.Yediot Acharonot is ferociously opposed to Binyamin Netanyahu, as are most press outlets. Only Yisrael Hayom is considered respectful toward Netanyahu – and is therefore mocked as his lapdog. Yisrael Hayom quotes Education Minister Gideon Sa'ar who says: stop blabbing about Iran.A senior diplomatic source quoted by the paper says that the public debate endangers state security.

The father of Pakistan’s atom bomb worked with Damascus build a nuclear site in northern Syria, according to new evidence uncovered by the Associated Press.The news agency said that Syria built a previously unknown complex that matched the design of a uranium enrichment plant that Libya's former dictator Muammar Qaddafi intended to build with the help of A. Q. Khan, who pioneered the atomic bomb in Pakistan.Libya renounced its secret nuclear program in 2003 after it already had ordered 1,000 gas centrifuges from Khan.The newly uncovered site in northwest Syria was eventually used for textiles after Israel bombed another facility, being built in eastern Syria with the help of North Korea, four years ago.

Correspondence between Khan and Syrian official Muhidin Issa was obtained by the U.N. International Atomic Energy Agency, according to AP. Issa proposed scientific cooperation and a visit to Khan's laboratories after Pakistan successful conducted a nuclear test in 1998.The newly discovered Syrian site never was used to produce plutonium or uranium, probably because of Israel’s bombing of the other plant. However, Syria’s intentions are important to know, Mark Hibbs, an analyst at the nuclear policy program at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace who has spoken to IAEA officials, told AP.Khan supplied Iran with knowledge for its established uranium enrichment program that already has manufactured enough material to manufacture nuclear bombs.

IDF commanders were given the green light by officials in Jerusalem to take all necessary steps to stop rocket fire from Gaza on Tuesday, including undertaking ground operations as need be.But military officials told the Associated Press, while the decision allowed the IDF to act in accordance with the severity of terror attacks from Gaza, it was unlikely a ground offensive would be ordered without massive rocket fire.The sudden spike in rocket and mortar attacks on Israel's southern communities began when terrorists started launching large salvos at Israel over the weakened.Israel has responded by maintaining its policy of airstrikes-for-rocket-attacks paradigm, which has marked - and maintained - Israel's poor security situation in the Gaza belt region.One Israeli civilian and at least 12 Gaza terrorists have been killed in the exchange of fire that began on Saturday.The IDF says there have been no Israeli airstrikes since around midnight Monday. Two rockets were fired from Gaza during that time.Amid the exchange Egyptian officials have repeatedly lionized their own diplomatic efforts in recent days to secure Israeli restraint in the face of wanton terror attacks on its civilian population. In the past few hours, Egypt saved Gaza from severe destruction and succeeded in securing Israeli restraint to give Egyptians time to reach a cease-fire agreement with Palestinian factions, Egypt's ambassador to the Palestinian Authority, Yasser Othman, told the AP.On Monday, Netanyahu said Israel would have to incorporate an offensive element into its security policies, citing the Talmudic dictum he who would harm us, his blood is on his head.

Netanyahu spokesman Mark Regev responded to Egyptian claims saying Israel's position has not changed.But critics say Netanyahu's rhetoric is not manifest in his government's actions, and that the so-called 'green light' given to the IDF is meaningless if it doesn't result in material changes to the strategic paradigm in Israel’s south.Netanyahu has, thus far, resisted mounting calls from Israeli lawmakers and security experts – Including three former IDF chiefs of staff – to smash Hamas and root out Gaza's terror infrastructure.Rocket and mortar attacks have disrupted life in southern Israel. Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan accused Germany of blocking Turkey's entry to the European Union and ignoring Turkish workers.Erdogan, who is set to meet in Berlin with German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday, said in a newspaper interview earlier in the day that Turkey feels very let down by Germany's stance on the issue.There are approximately 74 million Muslims in Turkey, a nation which is geographically located just on the very edge of Europe, bordering the Middle East region. Both Germany and France have expressed deep reservations about admitting Turkey into the European body.Merkel favors a privileged partnership for Turkey, rather than full membership in the European Union.German politicians do not acknowledge enough the integration of the three million Turks in Germany, Erdogan told the widely-circulated Bild newspaper.The Turkish prime minister also criticized German regulations prohibiting dual citizenship and which require those moving to Germany to first learn the language prior to arrival. Erdogan claimed that the laws infringe on Turkish immigrants' human rights, and said EU membership could help provide a solution to the problem of integrating the millions of Turks who immigrate to Germany.Germany should do much more for Turkey's European Union membership bid, as this would massively support integration, he said.Because we Turks regard Germany very positively, we feel very let down on this issue.
