FLORIDA FIRES

In Story 1 WE see Fires destroying Florida, like the Bible says 1/3 of all trees and green grass will be burned. And in Story 2 we see Iran getting flooded (The sea and waves Raging). MENS HEARTS FRIGHTENED OF THE STORMS COMING ON THE EARTH.

Crews Continue To Battle Florida Fires A forecaster says a bit of rain falling in Florida "may temporarily improve the situation" for firefighters.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. (AP) -- But the National Weather Service forecaster says the rain likely won't bring long-term help in stamping out dozens of brush fires that have burned more than eight-thousand acres. A spokeswoman for New Smyrna Beach says the region needs "a tremendous amount of rain to get back to normal. Despite the work of more than a hundred
firefighters, at least one house is gone and a thousand people have been chased out.

Rita McSweeney says she could see a black, black sky lit by "fire engine red" flames before she fled her Florida home. Another evacuee, Edward Beazley, tells the Daytona Beach News-Dispatch that many New Smyrna Beach neighbors left lawn sprinklers running before getting away from the brush fires. Parts of I-95 have been closed off-and-on because of thick
smoke. The highway reopened early Tuesday in Brevard and Volusia Counties. Authorities blame the smoke for a five-vehicle crash Sunday that killed two people.

floods Tue May 9, 1:25 PM ET TEHRAN

(AFP) - At least 14 people have reportedly drowned in flooding following torrential rains in northwestern Iran's Ardebil province. So far 14 people have been killed in the floods, three bodies have been retrieved, but the search is going on for the rest," a local official, Malek Jafarzadeh, was quoted by the state news agency IRNA as saying.

State television had reported that some 700 homes were seriously damaged or destroyed and some 9,000 livestock perished as a result of heavy rains which began Monday. With around 8,000 hectares of farmland also washed away, the cost of the damage has been put at around 150 billion rials (16 million dollars).
