CLERGY NOT ALLOWED AT 10TH ANIV OF 911

Clergy Ban At 9/11 Memorial Ceremony Inspires Complaints 911 Memorial First Posted: 9/2/11 11:11 AM ET Updated: 9/2/11 02:42 PM ET By Jaweed Kaleem

When the Sept. 11 memorial is dedicated with a solemn ceremony of remembrance at ground zero this year, the names of the 2,983 deceased will be read by victims' families interspersed with remarks from city officials and politicians, including New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and President Barack Obama. But some Christian religious leaders complain that other important voices will not be heard.A growing group of mostly conservative Christian leaders say organizers have shut out clergy and formal prayers from this year's annual 9/11 observance, which has taken on additional significance as the 10th anniversary of the attacks approaches and the long-awaited memorial opens. It's unbelievable, says Richard Land, president of the Ethics & Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention, who has been sending email blasts to constituents about the the lack of clergy. We live in a country where the overwhelming majority of people identify as Christian or have a religion, and clergy were some of the first people to respond on 9/11 to minister to victims. Why aren't they welcome today? Clergy have never been an official part of the 10 remembrance ceremonies at ground zero, which include one six months after the attacks and one on each 9/11 anniversary since. Instead, the events have featured moments of silence during which audiences may reflect and pray. Six such moments are planned this year -- two to recall when each of the twin towers was struck, two to recall when each tower fell, one to mark Flight 93, which crashed in Pennsylvania, and one to remember the attack on the Pentagon. But while there has been little controversy over the lack of formal religion at previous ceremonies, this year's event has generated petitions and responses from religious figures across the country. In addition to Land, influential conservative Christian groups, including the American Family Association, the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights and the Family Research Council, have called on Bloomberg to change course, as has the televangelist Rev. Pat Robertson.

I'm stunned. This event affected the whole psyche and soul of the country, and you are going to have no prayer? What's a memorial service if you are going to leave God out of it completely? It seems kind of hollow, said Tim Wildmon, president of the American Family Association, which has sent action alerts to its 2.3 million subscribers urging them to write to Bloomberg to protest the ceremony lineup. The Family Research Council, led by Tony Perkins, has also been sending notices to its base. Since launching a petition last week that says the clergy exclusion is offensive to the families of victims and strangely overlooks the role that faith played in bringing healing to countless lives, the group has gathered more than 53,000 signatures.Despite objections, Bloomberg's office has said it won't change the 9/11 plans. The ceremony was designed in coordination with 9/11 families with a mixture of readings that are spiritual, historical and personal in nature. It has been widely supported for the past 10 years and rather than have disagreements over which religious leaders participate we would like to keep the focus of our commemoration ceremony on the family members of those who died. This year's six moments of silence allow every individual a time for personal and religious introspection,Evelyn Erskine, a spokeswoman for the mayor, said in an email.Erskine added that while clergy have never been a formal part of the event, they have attended in previous years, including some who are relatives of 9/11 victims. Those clergy have been allowed to read names of victims like any other family member.

In one of his recent weekly radio shows, Bloomberg warned that the event cannot be political and said it would offer a poem or quote or something that each one of the readers will read with no speeches whatsoever. There’s an awful lot of people that would like to participate, but you just can’t do that once you open it up. So the argument here is, it’s elected officials and those who were there at the time and had some influence, the mayor said on the show.Among those calling for formal religious representation, there are differing views on which clergy should be invited. Land of the Southern Baptist Convention said there should be a Catholic priest, Protestant minister, rabbi and imam.Wildmon said that in a country where the Christian religion is dominant in terms of numbers, a Catholic or Protestant would be appropriate. In a blog post, Dave Silverman, president of American Atheists, wrote that all religious representatives should take part as long as there is an invocation on behalf of nonreligious people. Not all religious leaders are objecting to the ceremony's lineup. Many people would understandably prefer to see a presence of clergy, but priority must be given to families of victims -- that is the overriding concern, said Rabbi Joseph Potasnik, executive vice president of the New York Board of Rabbis. If you do include clergy, then the question becomes,Which faiths should be represented, which are not represented, how does one include everyone? Potasnik said that the controversy should not overshadow all the progress and work that has been done by and among different faiths since 9/11 and noted that other commemorative events will have clergy and prayer. These include an event organized by the New York Police Department on Sept. 8 at Lincoln Center, which will include Rabbi Alvin Kass, the chief of chaplains for the NYPD; Cardinal Edward Egan, the archbishop emeritus of New York; and Bloomberg. Representatives of the Archdiocese of New York are participating in several 9/11-related events, and the Interfaith Center of New York is also hosting many 9/11-related gatherings.

Video Game Allows Frustrated Libs Chance to Kill Tea Party Opponents Kurt Nimmo Infowars.com September 7, 2011

Following Teamster Jimmy Hoffa’s comments that liberals should take out the Tea Party, a company has created a video game centered around slaughtering establishment political figures who have aligned themselves with the hijacked Tea Party.Tea Party Zombies Must Die was created by StarvingEyes Advergaming, an advertising agency that boasts Meow Mix and Pepsi as clients. The video game allows players to shoot or hack up Sarah Palin, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Newt Gingrich, Brit Hume, Michele Bachmann, Mike Huckabee, Rick Santorum, Glenn Beck, the Koch Brothers, and Barbie-like Fox News and Americans For Prosperity employees.Americans For Prosperity is a front group for oil billionaire David Koch and Richard Fink. AFP is a major player in creating and funding the hijacked Tea Party. FreedomWorks is also responsible for sanitizing the original Tea Party of its Libertarian origins and turning it into a harmless cheering section for the establishment Republican Party.

In addition to high profile politicians such as Palin and Bachmann, the game allows players to murder generic white people who are outraged by an out of control federal government.Despite the obvious adolescent nature of the video game, it reveals how some liberals and Democrats feel about the political opposition – they want to kill them. The false right-left paradigm was designed to channel hatred and violence away from the plutocratic elite. Tea Party Zombies Must Die is a perfect example of a two minute hate session where hand-picked Tea Party stand-ups like Palin and Bachmann are offered up for sacrifice, albeit as mindless zombies in a virtual world.

JAMES 5:1-3
1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

EZEKIEL 7:19

G7 ministers see urgency but to offer no grand plan
Reuters By Daniel Flynn – SEPT 7,11

PARIS (Reuters) – A meeting of Group of Seven finance chiefs on Friday will discuss the struggling world economy and progress in regulating the financial sector but a coordinated action plan to calm markets is unlikely.Delegates at the one-day gathering in the Mediterranean port city of Marseille will seek to emphasize their commitment to preserving the fragile global recovery while avoiding promoting a one-size-fits-all approach, G7 sources say.Host country France is expected to indicate that different responses are appropriate in different countries to the latest crisis of confidence rocking world markets. This is not a G7 where we are expecting to prepare a formal communique, a French source said. We are sticking to the blueprint of recent G7 meetings, which have been informal ones.Growing fears of a tip back into recession are piling pressure on the G7 finance ministers and central bank governors to agree to moderate austerity drives in some rich economies and keep monetary policy ultra-loose.France is chair this year of both the Group of Seven major industrialized economies and the wider Group of 20, which must respond to sharp market sell-offs in August that betrayed high anxiety among investors over the euro zone's debt crisis and U.S. economic downturn.

SENSE OF URGENCY

Fears the global economy may have entered its most difficult period since the collapse of Lehman Brothers has injected urgency into Friday's talks but the sense of purpose evident in 2008 and 2009 is not yet evident.Gavin Friend, a strategist at National Australia Bank in London, said the G7 was unlikely to produce a grand plan but market expectations were running so high that a failure to come up with a weighty statement could disappoint. This meeting comes at a critical time,he said.
While Europe wants to keep its commitment to austerity, the United States is closer to the International Monetary Fund's position that fiscal stimulus is needed.President Barack Obama is due to announce a big job-creating package on Thursday.A Canadian official said on Tuesday that loosening austerity measures could ease short-term recession risks but pruning sovereign debt was the top goal. He said if there were to be any additional stimulus spending, it would be nowhere near the size of the 2008 round of globally coordinated fiscal stimulus.Britain, meanwhile, is sticking fast to its tough austerity program.International Monetary Fund chief Christine Lagarde has called for a recapitalization of European banks but sources said euro zone governments have no plans to inject any further capital into banks over and above the money earmarked for the financial sector in emergency loan programs to Greece, Ireland and Portugal, sources said.

With Asian economies deeply concerned about the West's debt crisis and slow growth, Bank of Japan Governor Masaaki Shirakawa said on Wednesday euro zone debt would be high on the G7 agenda.I presume Europe's sovereign problems will have a prominent place on the G7 agenda,Shirakawa said, noting the whole world was at risk if Europe's debt woes destabilize its banks.A source in Brussels said the G7 would likely agree to keep monetary policy accommodative, slow fiscal consolidation in states where that is possible and implement structural reforms. The mood is not for finger-pointing, but what we can do together to address the issues, that have become incredibly more complicated, the source said. The G7 may also point to the need for a rotation of growth -- that when developed countries slow down, emerging economies like China pick up the slack. That could mean a call for economies with large current account surpluses to increase domestic demand and allow their exchange rates to appreciate.Currencies are bound to be discussed after the Swiss National Bank shocked markets by setting an exchange rate cap on the soaring franc.Japan's new finance minister Jun Azumi made clear on Monday that Tokyo was far from comfortable with current yen levels and said he would seek to convince G7 finance chiefs that a strong yen was detrimental for the world economy as well as Japan's.Three sessions of talks in Marseille will focus on the global economy and financial regulation, including discussion of the health of Europe's banking system. No final communique will be issued, but the talks will wrap up with a news conference at around 10:00 p.m. (2000 GMT).The first session of talks in Marseille will be a debate on financial regulation, including a discussion of the health of the banking system in Europe and elsewhere, introduced by future ECB Chairman Mario Draghi, who also chairs the Financial Stability Board tasked by the G20 with steering banking reform.

A session on the global economy will discuss recent events, including the downgrade of the U.S. credit rating and the euro zone's July 21 crisis package to strengthen its bailout fund. it will also discuss global macroeconomic coordination.A working dinner will include finance ministers, central bank governors and heads of global financial institutions.(Additional reporting by Catherine Bremer in Paris, Jan Strupczewski in Brussels, Leika Kihara in Tokyo and Louise Egan in Ottawa; Writing by Catherine Bremer, editing by Mike Peacock)

UBS: Euro Collapse Could Lead To Martial Law, Civil War-Hank Paulson-style fearmongering is desperate effort to save single currency, preserve plan for superstate Paul Joseph Watson Infowars.com Wednesday, September 7, 2011
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WI3z0JexpXc&feature=player_embedded

In a similar vein to how Hank Paulson threatened martial law on the streets of America if the bailout failed to pass, top banks like UBS are now warning of authoritarian or military government and civil war in a bid to frighten away member states from leaving the euro. It’s a transparent ploy designed to create the pretext for empowering the EU to enforce a common economic policy across all member states, something that British Prime Minister David Cameron is now openly backing. In a UBS Investment Research release, the Swiss bank warns that should member states begin to desert the euro, precipitating a collapse of the single currency, some form of authoritarian or military government, or civil war, would likely ensue. The tone of UBS’ advisory sounds very sobering and authoritative, but we’ve seen this type of financial fearmongering before, during the 2008 bailout debate, which was eventually rammed through on the back of bellicose threats about martial law and economic armageddon. As Senator James Inhofe revealed, then Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson told members of Congress the crisis would be far worse than the great depression if Congress didn’t authorize the bill to buy out toxic debt, a proposal which he abandoned the day after he got the money, added Inhofe, referring to how immediately after it was approved, Paulson announced that the bailout money would not be used to buy up toxic debt but would instead be injected directly into banks like Goldman Sachs, at which he was a former CEO.

Lawmakers at the time were threatened with martial law and troops on the streets if they failed to vote for the bill, identical rhetoric we’re now hearing from UBS and others. The Obama administration also used economic terrorism to get an agreement pushed through on the debt hike. While telling Americans that a new great depression could be just days away if a compromise wasn’t reached, Obama was privately telling big banks not to worry, assuring them that such an event won’t happen.Billionaire investor George Soros has now joined the chorus, warning that the crisis has the potential to be a lot worse than Lehman Brothers, unless the European Union is handed more power to create a central economic authority.Of course, the populations of Greece, Italy, Portugal and others would most likely not resort to mass rioting and civil war if the euro was to disappear. Most of them would welcome the return of their old traditional currencies and the value of goods and services would simply be re-valued accordingly. There would be no mass panic, no civil unrest and no need for martial law, but the banking establishment has to make it appear that way in order to preserve the euro and keep the continent on track for a future amalgamation into a 4th Reich-style federal superstate, which was the agenda from the very beginning.

SOROS: Eurozone Crisis Could Be Worse Than Lehman
Gus Lubin Business Insider Wednesday, September 7, 2011

Legendary investor George Soros says the lack of central European authority could make this crisis worse than 2008. He tells the New York Times:This crisis has the potential to be a lot worse than Lehman Brothers. That is why the problem is so serious. You need a crisis to create the political will for Europe to create such an authority, but there is still no understanding as to what the authority will do.
Soros has said that Europe needs three things: a central authority, eurobonds and an exit mechanism for failing countries.Soros is bearish in general these days, predicting a new recession in the U.S. and closing his hedge fund to outside investors.

Firefighters begin to gain control over Texas blaze
Reuters By Karen Brooks | Reuters – SEPT 7,11

AUSTIN (Reuters) - Firefighters were gaining ground on Wednesday for the first time in their days-long battle against a large and deadly wildfire southeast of Austin, Texas, officials said. The 33,000-acre (13,000-hectare) Bastrop County Complex fire, which has forced the evacuation of about 5,000 people in the rural community, was about 30 percent contained as of Wednesday morning, said April Saginor, public information officer for the Texas Forest Service. The Bastrop fire, one of nearly 200 fires that have broken out across Texas in the past week, has killed two people and claimed 575 homes, the most houses ever destroyed by a single fire in Texas history.

Firefighters who have fought the blaze since Sunday were helped overnight by decreased winds and cooler temperatures, conditions expected to continue on Wednesday, officials said. The U.S. Forest Service has sent a team to the area to help coordinate the efforts, which include nearly 400 firefighters. So far, four people have died in wildfires in the state since Labor Day weekend, including a mother and infant daughter who were killed in northeast Texas on Sunday.Wildfires sweeping across drought-stricken state have destroyed more than 1,000 homes in the last several days. The Bastrop fire, the largest current blaze, stretches 24 miles long and 20 miles wide at its widest point.More than 3.6 million acres (1.5 million hectares) in Texas have been scorched by wildfires since November, fed by a drought that has caused more than $5 billion in damage to the state's agricultural industry and that shows no sign of easing.(Editing by Jerry Norton and Eric Beech)

Crews curb California fire sparked by plane crash
Reuters By Steve Gorman | Reuters – SEPT 7,11

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Fire crews made decisive gains on Tuesday against a fierce blaze that destroyed 12 homes after it was ignited by a small-plane crash in Southern California, and evacuation orders were lifted late in the day for hundreds of dwellings. The fire had grown by roughly 5,000 acres between nightfall Monday and daybreak Tuesday as strong, erratic winds fanned the flames across steep, rugged terrain near the mountain town of Tehachapi, about 150 miles north of Los Angeles.
But the winds eased after dawn, allowing fire crews to go on the offensive and keep the blaze from expanding, said Daniel Berlant, spokesman for the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.By Tuesday evening, some 2,100 firefighters backed by bulldozers and an aerial squadron of water-dropping helicopters and fire-retardant tanker planes had carved containment lines around 40 percent of the fire's perimeter, up from 5 percent early on Monday, he said.At day's end, the footprint of the blaze in the mountain slopes, canyons and ranch lands to the south and west of Tehachapi remained where it had been in the morning -- at 13,400 acres and holding. We really turned that corner with this fire with favorable weather conditions,Berlant told Reuters. We're starting to gain the upper hand. The so-called Canyon Fire was sparked late Sunday morning when a single-engine plane crashed near Tehachapi, killing the pilot and a second person aboard. The ensuing blaze quickly engulfed one nearby home, and 11 more dwellings were destroyed on Monday, fire officials said.A total of 650 residences, 1,500 commercial properties and 150 outbuildings were considered at risk at the fire's peak, and hundreds of those homes were ordered evacuated on the first day of the blaze. But with the fire threat abating on Tuesday evening, all evacuations were lifted, Berlant said. Power lines, wind farms and other facilities owned by Southern California Edison also were spared.(Editing by Greg McCune and Jerry Norton)

Lee's remnants bring fresh flood worries to East
AP By BILL POOVEY, Associated Press – SEPT 7,11

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – As the leftovers from Tropical Storm Lee brought welcome wet weather to farmers in the Southeast, many areas of the East Coast were getting soaked Wednesday, bringing new concerns about flooding.Tornadoes spawned by Lee damaged hundreds of homes, and flooding knocked out power to hundreds of thousands of people. Trees were uprooted and roads were flooded. Winds from the storm fanned wildfires in Louisiana and Texas. Lee even kicked up tar balls on the Gulf Coast. At least four people died in the storm.Lee was moving north, bringing heavy rain along with it. Flood warnings were in effect Wednesday and Thursday for much of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and upstate New York.Rising waters of a rain-swollen creek forced the evacuation of residents in the northeastern Pennsylvania city of Wilkes-Barre early Wednesday morning.Officials ordered the mandatory evacuation of about 3,000 residents. Rain from Irene also prompted evacuations there two Sundays ago.The National Weather Service issued flood warnings for parts of the Catskills and the Schoharie Creek valley. Those two eastern New York areas were devastated by Tropical Storm Irene on Aug. 28.

There were voluntary evacuations in the Town of Shandaken in the Catskills. Some schools in the Hudson Valley closed or delayed their start Wednesday.National Weather Service meteorologist Neil Stuart said some parts of the Catskills have seen three to five inches in the last few days and another one to three inches of rain could be on tap through Thursday. It's definitely more than they need,Stuart said.In New Jersey, major flooding was forecast for the Passaic River, which breached its banks during Irene and caused serious damage in some communities.Lee formed just off the Louisiana coast late last week and gained strength as it lingered in the Gulf for a couple of days. It dumped more than a foot of rain in New Orleans, testing the city's pump system for the first time in years. The storm then trudged across Mississippi and Alabama. By Tuesday, it had collided with a cold front leaving much of the East Coast wet, with unseasonably cool temperatures. At one point, flood watches and warnings were in effect from northeast Alabama through West Virginia to New England. In southeast Louisiana, Red Eubanks used a floor squeegee to clean up his restaurant and bar. His parking lot had been dry — and the headquarters for Livingston Parish sheriff's deputies and their rescue boat — but the nearby Amite River slowly rose and overflowed its banks.Water crept into the dining hall and back of Red's Restaurant and Bar. Eubanks' son and several friends put the refrigerator, freezers and salad display boxes on cinder blocks to protect them. This makes the fifth time I've had water in this building in 31 1/2 years,he said.In New Jersey, where many residents were still cleaning up after Hurricane Irene, the remnants of Lee were expected to drop anywhere from 2 to 5 inches of rain. Major flooding was forecast on Wednesday for the Passaic River, which breached its banks during Irene and caused serious damage in some communities.

On New York's Long Island, heavy rain and winds knocked out power to more than 9,000 utility customers for several hours on Tuesday. But Lee's damage paled in comparison with Irene. At least 46 deaths were blamed on that storm, millions lost power and the damage was estimated in the billions of dollars.Still, Lee was an unprecedented storm in some places. In Chattanooga, a 24-hour record for rainfall was set with 9.69 inches, eclipsing the previous record of 7.61 inches in March of 1886. By Tuesday, more than 10 inches of rain had fallen in the state's fourth-largest city, which had its driest August ever with barely a drop of rain. The soggy ground meant even modest winds were toppling trees onto homes and cars. A tree fell on a Chattanooga woman while she was moving her car, killing her, said police Sgt. Jerri Weary. In suburban Atlanta, a man died after trying to cross a swollen creek near a dam. Authorities in Alabama called off the search for a missing swimmer presumed dead in the rough Gulf waters and in Mississippi, another man drowned while trying to cross a swollen creek in a car. Two people in the car with him were saved when an alert motorist nearby tossed them a rope. There were other rescue stories, too. At a flooded apartment complex in Fort Oglethorpe in northwest Georgia, 33 people were saved by boat, Georgia Emergency Management Agency spokesman Ken Davis said. The American Red Cross set up a shelter for them and other residents displaced in Mississippi, where damage was reported in at least 22 counties. In Gulf Shores, Ala., black and brown chunks of tar ranging in size from marbles to baseballs washed up on the beach. Brandon Franklin, the city's coastal claims manager, said samples would be sent to Auburn University for chemical testing to determine if the tar is from last year's BP oil spill.Oil from the spill had soiled Gulf Coast beaches during the summer tourist season a year ago, though officials said the tar balls found so far didn't compare with the thick oil found on beaches then.BP has sent survey teams to conduct post-storm assessments along coastal beaches to determine what may have developed on the beaches and barrier islands as a result of Lee. The oil giant is prepared to mobilize response crews to affected areas if necessary, spokesman Tom Mueller said.In Cherokee County in northern Georgia, National Weather Service meteorologists confirmed that it was a tornado that damaged or destroyed about 400 homes. The twister was about a quarter-mile wide, with winds of around 90 mph. It traveled 24 miles on the ground, meteorologist Jessica Fieux said. One man received minor injuries from flying debris, but otherwise no one was hurt.Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner Ralph Hudgens toured a speedway and other neighborhoods damaged by the tornado.Sometimes a house would be hit, and a lot of damage, Hudgens said. And then the next door neighbor, nothing. The rain was a blessing for some farmers who had been forced to cut hay early and had seen their corn crop stunted by a summer drought.Obviously we would like to have this a while earlier, said Brant Crowder, who manages 600 acres of the McDonald Farm in the Sale Creek community north of Chattanooga. It's been hot and dry the last two months. As many as 200,000 had lost power across Alabama at the height of the storm, with most of the outages in the Birmingham area, Alabama Power spokeswoman Keisa Sharpe said. Outages were also reported in Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina.Meanwhile, in the open Atlantic, Hurricane Katia threatened to bring large swells to the East Coast but was not expected to make landfall in the U.S.Associated Press writers Jay Reeves in Orange Beach, Ala.; Bob Johnson in Montgomery; Ray Henry in Atlanta; Janet McConnaughey in New Orleans and Randall Dickerson in Nashville, Tenn., contributed to this report.

Maria forms as 13th named storm in Atlantic season
AP SEPT 7,11

MIAMI – Tropical Storm Maria has formed in the western Atlantic as the 13th named storm of this year's season. The U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami said Wednesday the storm is about 1,220 miles (1,965 km) west of the Cape Verde Islands and moving west at 23 miles per hour (37 kph).It has top sustained winds of 50 mph (85 kph) and some slight strengthening is possible in the next 48 hours.Meanwhile, Hurricane Katia continues to blow as a Category 1 storm in the Atlantic and was not expected to hit land. It is forecast to pass between the U.S. East Coast and Bermuda over Wednesday night and Thursday.

16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.

Palestinians say they will press on with UN bid
APBy MOHAMMED DARAGHMEH - Associated Press | AP – SEPT 7,11

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) — The Palestinians say a last-minute American effort has failed to stop them from moving ahead with their U.N. statehood bid.Two senior White House envoys met Wednesday with Palestinian officials and tried to persuade them to drop their plan to ask the U.N. this month to approve their independence and instead resume peace talks with Israel.A senior Palestinian official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to disclose the information, said the American envoys did not bring anything new concerning the peace process that would enable talks to resume. The Palestinians say they are turning to the U.N. after years of sporadic, and inconclusive, peace talks with Israel. The United States and Israel fiercely oppose the U.N. bid.

Palestinians deploy Obama speech in U.N. campaign
ReutersBy Tom Perry | Reuters – SEPT 7,11

RAMALLAH, West Bank (Reuters) - President Barack Obama is an unlikely participant in a Palestinian campaign to drum up support for a bid to win U.N. recognition of their statehood -- a diplomatic move opposed by both his administration and Israel. But as part of an official media campaign begun this week, Palestinians have pulled from the archive some words spoken by Obama during the 2010 U.N. General Assembly, in which he alluded to the prospect of a Palestinian state joining the world body. When we come back here next year, we can have an agreement that can lead to a new member of the United Nations, an independent, sovereign state of Palestine living in peace with Israel, Obama says in his 2010 speech.Although described by U.S. officials as no more than an expression of hope, the Obama remarks are one factor cited by Palestinians when explaining their push for U.N. membership at this year's General Assembly, due to convene in a few weeks. If he said it, he must have meant it, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas says during a 36-second radio spot. The ad is a reflection of Palestinian frustration with the Obama administration. The Palestinians feel Obama let them down, notably by failing to convince Israel to halt Jewish settlement expansion in the West Bank and East Jerusalem -- part of the territories where they seek an independent state.Though the U.S. president's remarks were hedged, Abbas has described the statement as the Obama promise.Obama spoke just a few weeks after his administration had brokered a resumption of peace talks, which then collapsed a few weeks later over the settlement issue. The U.S. president's words are being used alongside excerpts of speeches by the late Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat as part of the campaign. Verses penned by Mahmoud Darwish, the national poet who died in 2008, also feature.

The United States, Israel's closest ally, opposes the Palestinian U.N. initiative on the grounds that it is unhelpful to its Middle East diplomacy, which is still focused on bringing about a resumption of face-to-face peace talks.U.S. opposition in the Security Council will thwart any Palestinian bid for full U.N. membership, although the Palestinians could still secure an upgrade in their status to a non-member state by presenting a General Assembly resolution. We are reminding (Obama) of what he said in the United Nations in 2010,said Ahmad Zaki ElAreedi, director of Voice of Palestine radio, one of the Palestinian Authority-run institutions broadcasting the campaign.Western diplomats have pinned much of the blame for the moribund peace process on Israel, with Washington and European capitals roundly condemning a spurt of recent approvals for settlement building in East Jerusalem and the West Bank. While the United States has said it will side with Israel in the impending showdown in the United Nations, a big majority of U.N. members are likely to back the Palestinians.(Reporting by Tom Perry; editing by Crispian Balmer and Mark Heinrich)

Spain says supports Palestinian bid for statehood
ReutersBy Sonya Dowsett | Reuters – Sun, Aug 21, 2011

MADRID (Reuters) - Spain hopes a meeting of European Union foreign ministers on September 2 will bring progress toward the recognition of a Palestinian state, Minister of Foreign Affairs Trinidad Jimenez said. There's the feeling that now is the time to do something, to give the Palestinians the hope that a state could become reality, she said in an interview with El Pais newspaper published on Sunday.
We have to give them some signal, because if we don't it could generate great frustration for the Palestinian people. The meeting of EU foreign ministers in Sopot, Poland comes ahead of a United Nations General Assembly meeting later in September where President Mahmoud Abbas is seeking to upgrade the Palestinians' status, but is unlikely to emerge with full U.N. membership for his country.More likely is an upgrade of the Palestinian territories to become a non-member state from its current status as an observer. That would not need Security Council approval and would elevate the Palestinians' U.N. status to equal that of the Vatican.(Reporting by Sonya Dowsett; Editing by Jon Hemming)

Away from U.N. debate, Palestinian camp is on edge
Reuters By Tom Perry | Reuters – SEPT 7,11

JENIN, West Bank (Reuters) - Once again, it can be easier to find a rifle than a job in the West Bank refugee camp of Jenin.Residents say occasional bursts of gunfire in its narrow streets are an economic indicator as telling as any. Many see the renewed disorder as a consequence of despair. The scene of heavy fighting in 2002 during the last Intifada, or uprising, Jenin camp today challenges the picture of a West Bank prospering under the Palestinian Authority (PA), the Western-backed and internationally-funded government.Young men who fought in the last uprising have since emerged from Israeli prisons to bleak prospects. Their local standing as heroes has not helped them to find work. They hold the PA responsible and say their anger is growing.I live in total despair, said a 25-year-old ex-fighter jailed by Israel at the height of the Intifada and jobless since his release five months ago. To me, the whole world seems black. The camp's 16,000 people, mostly descendants of Palestinians dispossessed when Israel was created in 1948, live with memories of a violent past and little hope for a better future. Some view the camp as a ticking bomb, especially at a time when Palestinian belief in any chance of peace with Israel -- or the removal of half a million Israeli settlers in the West Bank and east Jerusalem, annexed by Israel in 1967 -- has dissolved.Plans by the Palestinian Authority leadership to press a claim to statehood at the United Nations in September offer something to talk about, but little more. Its consequences hard to fathom, the diplomacy planned for New York appears a world away from the daily worries of getting by and the tensions that have surfaced recently within the camp.
In Jenin camp, locals say small groups of masked men have reappeared in the streets, reviving memories of lawless armed gangs that roamed here during the last Intifada.

SHOOTING, ARSON

A few weeks ago, dozens of bullets were fired at a community services center. Separately, UNRWA, the U.N. agency which cares for Palestinian refugees, was forced to suspend its operations temporarily following threats to its staff. The car of one local notable who lives just outside the camp was torched.Adding to the pressures, Israeli security forces have stepped up raids and arrests in the camp in recent months as part of investigations into the killing in April of an Israeli actor and director who ran a community theater.I won't tell you the situation is out of control, but it is not under full control, said Atta Abu Irmaila, a local leader in Fatah, the ruling party in the West Bank led by PA President Mahmoud Abbas. Things are very difficult. If it stays like this, anything is possible.Addressing the camp from mosque minarets, community leaders recently appealed for an end to displays of arms by masked men.Palestinians who know the camp's politics attribute recent disturbances to individual rivalries rather than friction between factions such as Fatah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad.Used to much worse, they say the trouble should not be overdrawn, but talk of tensions rooted in poverty -- at least some of the gunmen belong to the camp's jobless generation.A decade ago, the workforce of Jenin camp and the adjacent city of the same name would have found jobs in nearby Israel. That was before the last Intifada, when Israel identified Jenin as a hub for suicide bombings and shooting attacks. Its military response led to a 10-day assault in 2002 known among Palestinians as the Battle of Jenin.Today, tighter restrictions on access to Israel mean its labor market remains cut off to many. Veterans of the fighting also complain that the PA has failed to offer them employment. What's going on in the camp is because there is no work for the youth, said a 28-year old, a veteran of the fighting who was jailed by Israel for eight years and arrested recently by PA security forces on suspicion of opening fire in the camp.He was cleared of the charges. His treatment by the police has bred more resentment of the PA.When they come into the camp, they come in as if they are going into a war zone, he said. Like others, he would not give his name for fear that talking to the media would bring more police attention.I want to work. Tell me to demolish a mountain and I'll do it, said another Intifada fighter of the same age.We see that our children are going to be worse off than us. If things stay as they are, the pressure will generate an explosion,he said.

ANGER INSIDE

In a report issued in June, UNRWA highlighted a divergence between refugee and non-refugee prosperity in the West Bank, showing higher rates of unemployment among the refugees.Registered refugees account for close to 700,000 of the West Bank's Palestinian population of 2.4 million.Across the Palestinian workforce in the West Bank, one in four were unemployed, the report said. For the most vulnerable, UNRWA runs a job creation program that pays laborers $420 a month for short-term projects, such as building repairs. But it isn't enough to make Jenin prosper.By contrast, the city of Ramallah, the PA's administrative capital, has boomed, thanks in large part to injections of aid from international donors who have backed the PA's efforts to build institutions for statehood.Economic conditions have also improved in other West Bank towns, partly because Israel has relaxed some of the crippling restrictions on movement it imposed during the Intifada. The PA recognizes that Jenin needs more attention to remedy above average unemployment. The government is aware of the need to double the efforts, said Ghassan Khatib, PA spokesman. But the Authority faces an uphill struggle to win local confidence. Its economic policies are seen to be failing and its security forces are also looked upon with a degree of suspicion, their credibility undermined by repeated Israeli raids. Some question the Palestinian security forces' role when the Israeli army still acts as it pleases. Such sentiment generates warnings that the PA could be the focus of future anger.

I am the regional secretary general of Fatah but I do not work in politics. My job is social work, said Abu Irmaila. I cannot do politics -- I can't say: Come, there is a Fatah conference, or a march, or support the president, to someone who can't find food to eat.People are saying: We fought the Israelis, we offered martyrs and prisoners and our homes were destroyed. But you, oh Palestinian Authority, Fatah -- what have you done to us? he said.He believes trouble in Jenin camp could spark wider West Bank instability. If there is going to be an explosion in the country ... its starting point will be Jenin camp, he said.People have felt more hounded by the Israelis and the PA since the killing of Juliano Mer Khamis, the Israeli founder of the Freedom Theater, said Jacob Gough, who is now its director.Founded in 2006, the theater aims to provide a creative outlet for youths who have grown up through years of turbulence. There's a billiard hall, and there's us, said Gough. There's this anger inside and it's going to come out in certain ways. Some come to the theater, some go around with guns and shoot in the air,he said. People feel left out of society.(Editing by Alistair Lyon)

Palestinians resist US pressure on statehood bid
APBy MOHAMMED DARAGHMEH - Associated Press | AP – SEPT 7,11

RAMALLAH, West Bank (AP) — The Palestinians on Tuesday said they would not give in to American pressure to drop their bid for statehood at the United Nations, taking a tough position ahead of a meeting with a senior U.S. delegation. Two senior White House envoys, David Hale and Dennis Ross, arrived in the region on Tuesday for talks with Israel and Palestinian officials. The U.S. has been trying to persuade the Palestinians to drop their plan to ask the U.N. this month to approve their independence and instead resume peace talks with Israel.Yasser Abed Rabbo, a top adviser to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, said there was little the Americans could do to change the Palestinians' plans. We are going to the United Nations, regardless of objections or pressure, he said. Abbas is expected to meet with Hale on Wednesday. Ross, who is viewed by the Palestinians as pro-Israel, was not scheduled to attend the meeting. The comments signaled more frustration for President Barack Obama, who has made little progress in nurturing peace talks despite pledges to make Mideast diplomacy a priority. The Palestinians say they are turning to the U.N. after years of sporadic, and inconclusive, peace talks with Israel.

Israel captured the West Bank and east Jerusalem — areas claimed by the Palestinians — in the 1967 Mideast war. Both Israel and the U.S. oppose the U.N. initiative, saying peace can be reached only through negotiations. Israel has called for a resumption of talks without preconditions. The American team was meeting with Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday.Barak's office said his discussions focused on the regional situation and strategy issues, including the Palestinians. He did not elaborate. There was no immediate comment from either Netanyahu's office or the Americans.Abbas confirmed this week that he has held secret talks with the Israeli president and defense minister in recent weeks, but was unable to reach any breakthrough. In a separate matter, an Israeli defense official said Tuesday that the military has temporarily suspended its contentious policy of demolishing illegally built Palestinian homes in the West Bank. The official said the order was issued after determining the policy is not equally enforced against illegally built Jewish settler homes.Palestinians have bitterly complained that demolitions are arbitrary and lopsided and that it's difficult for them to get Israeli construction permits. The official spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the order, which was issued in an internal memorandum. He didn't say how long the order would last. Also Tuesday, Netanyahu condemned the torching of a mosque in the West Bank earlier in the week, that came a few hours after the Israeli military dismantled structures in an unauthorized West Bank outpost. The name of the outpost, Migron, was spray painted on the mosque, suggesting the act was settler retaliation for the demolitions.Menachem Froman, a rabbi from the settlement of Tekoa who promotes coexistence between Palestinians and settlers, visited the mosque on Tuesday to reconcile between the two sides. In Gaza Tuesday, a Palestinian militant was killed by an Israeli missile as he fired rockets at southern Israel, Gaza Health Ministry spokesman Adham Abu Salmia said. The Israeli military said it hit militants firing mortars.Associated Press writer Amy Teibel in Jerusalem contributed to this report.

Former German leader calls for United States of Europe Reuters By Brian Rohan | Reuters – Sun, Sep 4, 2011

BERLIN (Reuters) - Former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder on Sunday called for the creation of a United States of Europe, saying the bloc needed a common government to avoid future economic crises.Schroeder, a Social Democrat who ran the country from 1998 to 2005, said in an interview with Der Spiegel that European Union leaders were wrong to expect the euro to drive the bloc on its own.The current crisis makes it relentlessly clear that we cannot have a common currency zone without a common fiscal, economic and social policy, Schroeder said.He added: We will have to give up national sovereignty. From the European Commission, we should make a government which would be supervised by the European Parliament. And that means the United States of Europe.Schroeder, who nurtured a close relationship with France during his leadership, welcomed an initiative launched by German Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Nicolas Sarkozy to move toward a fiscal union in 2012.Their proposal, which would mean giving up sovereignty over budgetary policies with the aim to shore up the 17-nation currency union, has received a lukewarm response from other euro zone countries.Germany and France have sent a strong signal with the plan for a European economic government, if it is meant seriously and receives suitable authority such as a European finance minister, Schroeder said.

That is the correct way forward and the precondition for the correct funding -- euro bonds, he said.Germany, which enjoys lower costs for issuing debt than its single currency partners, has led resistance to joint euro-denominated bonds. It is a huge bond market -- speculators would no longer harbor hopes of splitting it up, Schroeder said.In order to initiate these changes, Schroeder said EU member states would have to return to the negotiating table and hammer out a new treaty to replace the one agreed in Lisbon that currently serves as the bloc's institutional framework.
In the crisis lies a real opportunity to achieve a political union in Europe, he said.Schroeder, who says the EU can only respond to growing competition with the United States and Asia by being fully united, has long pointed to Britain as a hurdle to further EU integration.Great Britain causes the greatest problems. (It is) not in the euro but the British nevertheless always want to participate when it comes to designing a European economic area, he said. That doesn't work.(Reporting by Brian Rohan; Editing by Karolina Tagaris)

ISRAEL

Whose Promised Land? Psalm 78:54-55 (ISRAELS)
54 And He brought them to His holy border, This mountain which His right hand had acquired.
55 He also drove out the nations before them,Allotted them an inheritance by survey, And made the tribes of Israel dwell in their tents.

JERUSALEM DIVIDED

ZECHARIAH 12:1-5 King James Bible
1 The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, saith the LORD, which stretcheth forth the heavens, and layeth the foundation of the earth, and formeth the spirit of man within him.
2 Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of trembling unto all the people round about, when they shall be in the siege both against Judah and against Jerusalem.
3 And in that day will I make Jerusalem a burdensome stone for all people: all that burden themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, though all the people of the earth be gathered together against it.
4 In that day, saith the LORD, I will smite every horse with astonishment, and his rider with madness: and I will open mine eyes upon the house of Judah, and will smite every horse of the people with blindness.
5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, The inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be my strength in the LORD of hosts their God.

JOEL 3:2
2 I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.

ZECHARIAH 14:1-9 King James Bible
1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south. 5 And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.
6 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:
7 But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.
8 And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.
9 And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.

Tension, confusion behind EU facade on Palestine
03.09.11 @ 17:41 By Andrew Rettman

Hostility toward foreign affairs chief Catherine Ashton, confusion over what the Palestinians will ask for and how major EU countries will react marked behind-closed-doors talks of EU foreign ministers in Poland.Briefing press in the town of Sopot on Saturday (3 September) after the talks on Friday, Ashton said there is a strong EU position and a common belief that the Middle East conflict can only be solved via Arab-Israeli negotiations. She added: We do not have the resolution before the UN at the moment and therefore this was not the time to discuss the EU's repsonse to such a resolution. The EU meeting comes three weeks before Palestine is to submit a draft text to the UN General Assembly in New York asking the body to upgrade its status. While EU countries agree on basic principles - the importance of Arab-Israeli talks and the need for a two-state solution based on 1967 borders - Europe is split on whether or not to back Palestine's unilateral bid for statehood.

Some ministers put a positive spin on the Sopot talks.Sweden's Carl Bildt said they brought the EU closer to agreement on the issue. Estonia's Urmas Paet told EUobserver: My feeling is Yes, the EU will eventually agree on its position and will not split into 27 or two or three different directions.Other sources said the mood was not so friendly, however. One EU diplomat said Bulgaria, the Czech republic, Hungary, Italy and the Netherlands called for the EU to oppose Palestinian independence but that Ashton sided with more Palestinian-friendly countries. She's going her own way, freewheeling a bit. She is struggling to put forward her own opinion without taking into account the opinion of this substantial minority ... If you want to have an EU common position, it will be hard to do it like this.On the pro-Palestinian side, Luxembourgish foreign minister Jean Asselborn broke the terms of an EU gentleman's agreement not to speak out before New York. The EU cannot give nothing to the Palestinians and should give them dignity he told Agence France Presse. In a third camp, sources indicated Poland is happy to back any solution that has a realistic chance of broad EU and UN support. For his part, German minister Guido Westerwelle added to confusion. Contacts said he was almost silent at Friday's talks, leaving colleagues unsure which way Berlin will go. Maybe it's because of his difficult situation at home, the source added, referring to calls in Germany for him to resign.A big problem was lack of knowledge of what the Palestinians will ask for.
Variables include Palestine asking the UN Security Council to become a fully-fledged UN member - an option that would see a US veto and a clash between the US and pro-Palestinian EU countries; Palestine asking the UN to become a non-member state like the Vatican - an option that could see Israel abandon previous peace deals; Palestine attaching supplementary clauses on recogntion of Israel or security issues which are unacceptable even for its EU friends.A sudden split between Palestinian factions Fatah and Hamas, an outbreak of Arab-Israeli violence or new Israeli settlement decisions could also influence EU swing countries in coming days. There were lots of buts, ifs, maybes and it depends,Estonia's Paet told this website. The process is moving so fast that what was true yesterday or today might be inadequate next week. So nobody is rushing to say what their position is.

Shalom: The Current Palestinian Leadership Wants Peace-Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom at Tel Aviv conference: Abbas and Fayyad are committed to peace. There's no alternative to negotiations.By Elad Benari & Yoni Kempinski First Publish: 9/6/2011, 4:36 AM

Vice Prime Minister and Minister for Regional Cooperation Silvan Shalom, hosted on Monday the first International Regional Cooperation Conference in Tel Aviv. The conference was attended by diplomats, Israeli politicians and Palestinian Authority Arab businessmen.Addressing the conference participants, Shalom said that the conference shows that regional cooperation can continue even when problems exist.
Shalom spoke of the peace treaties Israel has with Jordan and Egypt and said that one must remember the common people in those countries who want peace and not just look at the extremists who are against peace.I would like to believe that after the election in Egypt the new government will be committed to the peace treaty that was achieved between our two countries more than 30 years ago, he said. I was very happy to find out that all the candidates said very clearly that they are committed to the idea that the peace treaty between our two countries should last forever.Shalom said that the moderate regimes in Islamic countries should be supported rather than the extremist regimes led by Iran, including in his definition of moderate regimes also the current leaders of the Palestinian Authority.

I really believe that the current leadership of the Palestinians would like to achieve peace with Israel, he said. I talked to Abu Mazen (Mahmoud Abbas –ed.) as well as to Prime Minister Salaam Fayyad and I found them to be really committed to the idea of peace with Israel.Unfortunately, I don’t think that a unilateral move will be helpful to achieve an understanding that will move us toward peace, added Shalom, referring to the PA’s unilateral statehood bid at the United Nations on September 20.We have been trying to resume negotiations for a very long time. We have tried it since we took power. Unfortunately, we haven’t succeeded.Shalom also spoke of the work his own ministry has done to promote peace. We’ve done everything we can for integration - cancelled roadblocks, and tried to make life easier. We are going to build a business lounge by four different crossings. Israelis and Palestinians can meet there and discuss projects. Both sides are very encouraged by that idea……….We have reopened the Allenby crossing to allow Palestinians to go directly to the Amman airport without an overnight stay in Amman. We have extended opening hours of Tarkumiyah crossing to 13 hours every day which allow for free movement of trucks headed toward Ashdod, Haifa and the Ben Gurion International airport. There is no other alternative to direct negotiations for improving these processes. As part of the conference, Shalom awarded Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair a token of appreciation for his tireless work to open huge blocks and assist in the security situation in the Middle East.

Tony Blair: It's Not in Anyone's Interest Not to Make Peace-Tony Blair after receiving a token for appreciation for advancing peace: Return to direct negotiations. Peace is in everyone's interests.By Elad Benari & Yoni Kempinski First Publish: 9/6/2011, 2:39 AM

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, the Quartet Middle East envoy, was in Israel for the first International Economic Regional Cooperation Conference on Monday at the David Intercontinental Hotel.During the conference, Vice Prime Minister Silvan Shalom awarded Blair a token of appreciation for his tireless work to open huge blocks and assist in the security situation in the Middle East.On stage, Vice Prime Minister Shalom said that although Tony Blair deals with the Middle East as a whole, he is first and foremost dedicated to the Arab-Israeli conflict.Blair was later interviewed on stage by Channel 2 News’ diplomatic analyst Udi Segal.Asked about what he thinks will happen in the region in the next few weeks as the Palestinian Authority plans to submit its unilateral statehood bid to the United Nations, Blair emphasized the need to return to direct negotiations. We should try as hard as we possibly can to find a way through that allows us to get back to the only thing that will resolve this, and that is a negotiation toward a viable independent state of Palestine and a secure state of Israel recognized by the region, Blair said.We can carry on with this impasse or that impasse, he added, [but] we always come back to the same issue and the same basic conclusion. While Blair admitted that he does not know whether it would be possible to resume peace negotiations before September 20, when the PA presents it statehood bid, he said efforts should be made to do so as possible.

There’s no way of looking at this in which we are in a better place without negotiations, he emphasized, adding that the Quartet is trying to find solutions for a negotiations framework from where the situation stands now.Blair reemphasized the benefits of democracy, referring to Israel’s recent protest movement and the Israeli government’s response as a model for the region as a whole. You’ve got freedom of assembly here…they’re not firing on demonstrators here and that’s the difference in a democracy. He concluded by saying that he is still optimistic about peace and is basing that optimism on looking at the big picture. If you look at the big picture, it’s not in anyone’s interest not to make peace when you could make so much with peace, he said. It’s not sensible to remain in conflict when in peace we could create so much for both Israelis and Palestinians and for this region.

Netanyahu: PA UN Bid will Lead to Deadlock-Senior Fatah official expects 140 countries to recognize, vote for a PA state at the UN General Assembly.By Gil Ronen First Publish: 9/5/2011, 4:40 PM

Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu called on Palestinian Authority (PA) Chairman Mahmoud Abbas Monday to enter into direct negotiations with Israel immediately. He can come to Jerusalem, I could go to Ramallah or we could both go to Brussels, the Prime Minister suggested.Netanyahu noted that since taking up office, he has ascribed supreme importance to the holding of direct negotiations and added that to his regret, the PA leadership has chosen to refrain from direct dialogue, preferring instead to appeal to the UN, a move which will lead to deadlock.Prime Minister Netanyahu made the statement as he met with Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme at his official residence and welcomed him on his first visit to Jerusalem, noting that this was a good opportunity to improve bilateral relations. The two leaders discussed economic development and bio-technology and agreed to increase bilateral cooperation in these areas.Senior Fatah official Nabil Shaath said Sunday that he expects 140 countries to recognize and vote for a Palestinian state at the UN General Assembly's 66th meeting, due to be held on September 23.

Report: Abbas, Barak Met in Amman-PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas says he met secretly with Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak last month in Amman, Jordan.By Gavriel Queenann First Publish: 9/5/2011, 9:49 PM

Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas told reporters in Ramallah he met with Defense Minister Ehud Barak in Amman on August 24.Abbas, who refused to specify the circumstances behind the meeting, said the two 'discussed a number of issues' and reiterated the PA fully intends to present its statehood bid to the UN in September.
We are going to complain to the UN about the occupation that we have been under since the Ottoman regime,he said.We want peace. We want to be with Israel, not to isolate it. We encourage Arab nations to recognize Israel as we have promoted in the Arab Peace Initiative. We will not de-legitimize (Israel).Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu accused PA officials of doing everything to avoid negotiations saying the unilateral move at the UN would only result in deadlock.Netanyahu, who spoke after meeting Belgian Prime Minister Yves Leterme, invited Abbas to come to Jerusalem, and offered to come to Ramallah to resume direct negotiations.Abbas, who spoke to reporters after meeting with a group of Israeli scholars, did not address the PA's intention to request the UN to recognize a PA state.Abbas confirmed that he has met with President Shimon Peres a number of times in Jordan, Italy and the UK.

There was supposed to be another meeting on July 28, but it was cancelled due Peres' request,he said.Meanwhile, a PA official who spoke on condition of anonymity said Ramallah has yet to decide how they will press their statehood agenda at the United Nations this month, indicating less certainty than had previously been signaled on details of the plan.Israeli officials - but not Netanyahu himself - have indicated the plan would result in a diplomatic eye for an eye and that Israel has no agreements with a Palestinian state. All agreements with the Palestinian Authority are under the Oslo Accords, which at once forbids unilateral moves while defining ministry contacts, as well economic, infrastructure, and security arrangements.IDF officials have begun to preparing both its own forces and Jewish residents in Judea, Samaria, and eastern Jerusalem for the prospect of widespread violence in PA enclaves - or even attempts by PA forces to exercise sovereignty in Israeli areas.

Op-Ed: Sept. at UN: Jihad is Against the Bible-Published: Monday, September 05, 2011 9:27 AM-First of a series on PA's unilateral request for UN recognition on September 20th: It is another signal date in the annals of global jihad, says the writer.

Diana West is a nationally syndicated American journalist with a weekly column, pundit and author. She writes a commentary for the Newspaper Enterprise Association and is the author of the non fiction book The Death of the Grown Up.Beyond the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks looms another signal date in the annals of global jihad. That date is Sept. 20, when the Palestinian Authority's Mahmoud Abbas is expected to petition the United Nations for statehood. What would a U.N.-ordained Palestinian state have to do with global jihad? Practically everything, because such statehood would mark a major victory in the long war on Israel's existence. And, whether unadmitted or unimagined, it is Israel on which the axis of Islamic jihad turns.I've never been more convinced of this than after reading four, clarifying pages of Bat Ye'or's new book, Europe, Globalization, and the Coming Universal Caliphate (Lexington Books). In a first-chapter primer on the relationship between the European Union and the Organization of the Islamic Conference, much of which revolves around mutual animus toward Israel,Ye'or revisits the hateful perversion that passes for political normal: the relentless mission of the Islamic world, with EU encouragement, to appropriate a tiny piece of land -- Israel -- as a political and religious cause despite the fact, as she reminds us, no town, village or hamlet of Israel is mentioned in the Koran or early biographies of Muhammad.

Why Israel? Ye'or asks. Given the immense territories conquered and Islamized over thirteen centuries of expansion and war, she writes, why would Muslim countries keep plotting to destroy Israel? And further: Why does the immense oil wealth of Muslim nations nourish a flood of hatred that poisons the heart of humanity against such a small nation? Why is Israel considered so alarming? What Israel possesses is the Bible. It is Israel on which the axis of Islamic jihad turns. The well-read global citizen might regurgitate something about land, modern Zionism and the post-1948 plight of the Palestinians, but these are stock narratives overwriting the age-old reason. What Israel possesses,Ye'or explains, is the Bible. To appreciate the depth and breadth of this perhaps obvious but seldom pondered explanation, it's essential to realize that Jewish and Christian Bible characters, from Abraham to Moses to Jesus, pop up in the Koran as Muslim prophets who actually preach Islam, not Judaism or Christianity. This is the time-wrinkling, religion-morphing way in which Islam repudiates what it regards as falsifications in both the first (old) and second (new) testaments.Given that the Jewish and Christian religious books long predate the Islamic religious book, it's not surprising that in their Koranic guises the biblical characters wander, as Bat Ye'or writes, in uncertain space with no geographical or temporal references. Still, Muslims claim that these same Muslim characters lived in Palestine, Bat Ye'or writes, on the basis of the Jewish and Christian scriptures that they reject.

It follows from this highly unstable construct that Islam sees the biblical past as Islamic history usurped by Jews and Christians. Thus, the land in which it took place -- though ... never mentioned in the Koran -- is (considered) a Muslim land, and Jewish and Christian holy sites are all (considered) Muslim, writes Ye'or, the pre-eminent modern historian of dhimmitude, the diminished condition of non-Muslims under Islamic law (Shariah). The land of Israel itself -- whose every region, town and village is mentioned in the Bible with historical and chronological precision -- is thus sacrilegious to Muslims, she explains. They observe with destructive rage this unfolding return of history that they claim as their own. ... Any confirmation of the veracity of the Bible is seen as an attack on the Islamic authenticity of the Koranic figures taken from the Bible. So much for those slivers of real estate as being the driver of war on Israel. It is, in fact, a jihad, a religious war against Judaism and the land of the Bible, root of Christianity. As Ye'or puts it, Israel, in the land of its history, towns and villages, resuscitates the Bible, the book the Koran must supplant. This back-to-basics interpretation allows us to see through the masks and deceptions to a war on Israel that is also a jihad against Christianity. Remember that the Koranic Jesus, Isa, has Muslim, not Jewish roots. As Ye'or writes, Muslims see Christians as having gone astray by placing themselves in the lineage of the Hebrew Bible, because their real origin is Islam. The Islamic answer is to return Christianity to its supposedly Koranic origins. And then? Bat Ye'or believes the destruction of Christianity's sustaining Jewish roots (would) facilitate its Islamization. And the world's.

Op-Ed: Top 10 Non-Jews Positively Influencing Jewish Future Published: Monday, September 05, 2011 8:07 AM-Some of the entries on this list may not be to your liking. This expresses the writer's opinion only. Let us know what you think.Dovid Efune, Dir. After seeing a list of the world's richest Jews (in JPost, gave rise to much controversy on why the list was made at all, ed.), I was inspired to create a list of my own -- not of Jews, but of non-Jews, specifically those that are having the most positive influence in shaping the Jewish future.A year later, much has changed, new figures have emerged, others have faded and some have remained. But the importance of bringing attention to this group is constant. For this reason I have sought to make this a regular endeavor, as such I present the second-annual list.
Similar to the criteria used by other list makers, I chose my candidates from around the world and from all walks of life. The list includes, politicians, activists, business giants and more, all of whom have made a significant constructive impact on Israel and the Jewish world. Last year I only listed the top six, but wanted to make the list slightly more comprehensive, so it is now expanded to include the top 10. They are in ascending order.Although by no means an exact science, my aim in this compilation, is to provide some insight into the playing field of this unique yet modest group. Additionally I aim to provide a glimpse at their often courageous, sometimes unacknowledged activities on behalf of Israel and the Jewish people.

10. Julie Burchill-Columnist and novelist
Currently a columnist for The Independent, she has written for newspapers such as The Sunday Times and The Guardian. The Jewish Chronicle described her in 2008 as Israel's staunchest supporter in the UK media.

9. Jon Voight-Actor
Supporter of Jewish causes, most notably Chabad, Voight is also a prolific spokesman for Israel. A rarity in Hollywood circles, he has advocated for Jewish values, consistently reaching an often indifferent audience.

8. Patrick Debois-Founder, Yahad-In Unum
A Roman Catholic priest, Debois is head of the Commission for Relations with Judaism of the French Bishops' Conference and Consultant to the Vatican. He is the co-founder and president of Yahad-In Unum, an organization whose mission is to document the murder of the 1.5 million Jews of Ukraine, shot dead by the Nazis and buried throughout the country. This work is vital in ensuring that the memory of these victims will not fade with the death of the last witnesses.

7. John Hagee-Founder, Christians United for Israel
Hagee's Christians United for Israel continues to experience rapid growth, now boasting upwards of 600,000 members. The group makes significant contributions to Jewish causes, and has become a potent political force in support of Israel. Author of Jerusalem Countdown and In Defense of Israel, the pastor from San Antonio has met with every Israeli prime minister since Menachem Begin and his ministries have given more than $8.5 million to bring Jews from the former Soviet Union to Israel.

6. Warren Buffet-Investor
The famed investor has been a strong supporter of Israeli innovation, and has bought into it significantly. Last year, while visiting the country, he famously said that Israel has shown that it has a disproportionate amount of brains and energy. Buffet's strong statement of confidence has gone a long way in encouraging significant foreign investment in the Jewish State.

5. Jose Maria Aznar-Former Prime Minister of Spain
In 2010, Aznar founded the Friends of Israel Initiative, with the stated goal to counter the attempts to delegitimize the State of Israel and its right to live in peace within safe and defensible borders. Referring to the ill-fated takeover of the Mavi Marmara by Israeli commandos, Aznar said in 2010 that the world must support Israel because if it goes down, we all go down. His unique organization provides a strong voice of reason in circles where it might otherwise not be heard.

4. Manmohan Singh-Prime Minister of India
The largest customer of Israeli military equipment and Israel's second-largest economic partner, Indian ties with Israel are now stronger than ever and advanced negotiations for an extensive bilateral trade pact are well under way. Singh is largely responsible for cultivating and developing this crucial alliance that is vital to Israel's economic stability and continued growth.

3. John Boehner-Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives
Among the many friends of the Jewish community in the U.S. Congress, Boehner's recent actions have made him stand out. Centrally involved in the recent invitation of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress, Boehner provided the platform for the Jewish narrative to be conveyed to a pivotal audience at an important time.

2. Rupert Murdoch-CEO of News Corporation
At an American Jewish Committee dinner honoring Murdoch he opened his acceptance speech by saying, over the years, some of my wildest critics seem to have assumed I am Jewish. At the same time, some of my closest friends wish I were. So tonight, let me set the record straight: I live in New York. I have a wife who craves Chinese food. And people I trust tell me I practically invented the word chutzpah. As CEO of News Corporation, Murdoch has continued to ensure that the outlets under his direction, including The London Times, Fox News and The Wall Street Journal, are fair and honest in their coverage of matters relating to Jews and Israel.

1. Stephen Harper-Prime Minister of Canada
Recently winning a majority government for his conservative party, Harper has been a great friend to Canada's Jewish community as well as an outspoken supporter of Israeli positions in the international political arena, saying last year, When Israel, the only country in the world whose very existence is under attack, is consistently and conspicuously singled out for condemnation, I believe we are morally obligated to take a stand. His recent blocking of a G8 resolution in support of President Obama's Middle East policy speech that would mention the call for a Palestinian State based on the 1967 lines, while not incorporating other elements of the speech, earns him the top spot this year.(Sent to Arutz 7 by the writer)

EU President says leaders committed to euro zone
Reuters SEPT 5,11

CANBERRA (Reuters) – The European Union's top official on Tuesday defended the political will of EU leaders to resolve the euro-zone debt crisis, despite concerns that they seem unable to halt a slide back into recession and avoid a fresh banking crisis.EU Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso was speaking at a conference in Australia, the morning after investors sold off European markets, sending the euro lower and causing spreads on Italian bond yields to surge.I believe we will solve it, Barroso said in a speech at the Australian National University in Canberra.A lot has been done and we are in the process of completing a very complex architecture. I can tell you very honestly I believe there is a strong determination of the leaders of the euro zone and the members states to support the financial stability of the euro zone and the euro, he added. The EU, with the backing of the International Monetary Fund, have set up a 440 billion euro ($621 billion) stability fund to help weaker member countries, fight financial market contagion and prevent a crisis of confidence among banks. However, markets have questioned the EU's resolve to see this plan through, with doubts over political support for it in Germany, Europe's biggest economy, and over the ability of major borrower Italy to implement an austerity package.

Barroso, in Australia for meetings with the government ahead of a Pacific Islands summit in New Zealand this week, said fiscal consolidation was Europe's most serious challenge. He said the euro remained a stable and credible currency, and leaders would do whatever was needed to ensure financial stability in the euro zone. The euro remains an extremely important, credible, stable currency, he said.European leaders, the IMF, and countries providing most of the support will do whatever it takes, whatever is necessary, to keep financial stability in the euro zone.Barroso said the European union remained committed to building relationships in Asia and the Pacific, and said Europe's crisis would not lead to a new round of introspection.Europe's future lies in adjusting its engagement and role in world affairs, not in internal squabbles, he said.To that end we are moving toward convincing medium and long-term approaches to both national budgets and euro zone governance, (with) the full impact of this progress becoming apparent over the next three years.(Reporting by James Grubel; Editing by Mark Bendeich)

G7 to seek ways to prop up global growth: source
Reuters By Jan Strupczewski – Mon Sep 5, 1:57 pm ET

(Reuters) – Group of Seven financial leaders, worried about risks to global growth, are likely to agree this week to keep monetary policy accommodative, slow fiscal consolidation in countries where that is possible and implement structural reforms, a G7 source said.Finance ministers and central bank governors of the United States, Canada, Japan, Germany, France, Italy and Britain (G7) meet on Friday in the French port of Marseilles to discuss what action to take to prop up the slowing global economy. The main issue will be the slowdown in the global economy and what is the best way to tackle that, a G7 official with knowledge of the preparations for the meeting said. The source said that there was a sense among G7 countries that the global economy had entered the most difficult period since the collapse of Lehman Brothers and that there was a risk of recession -- either in technical terms, seen as two straight quarters of contraction, or with positive growth but a widening output gap. This was because temporary factors such as high oil prices were exacerbated by the sovereign debt crisis and the uncertainty created by the U.S. debt limit debate -- all dealing a major blow to confidence, the official said.

There will be an indication that monetary policy will remain accommodative, and that fiscal consolidation will go on, but in some countries at a slower pace in the short term, the G7 official said. The accommodative monetary policy stance discussions would include issues such as quantitative easing, the official said.No official communiqué was planned after the meeting, but there could be a briefing by France, which will chair the talks, the official said. The official said the slower pace of fiscal consolidation demanded in the short-term in countries that did not face immediate market pressure would be in return for more fiscal consolidation sought in 2013, 2014 and 2015, depending on economic developments in 2012.Italy is likely to come under pressure to implement structural reforms to boost its economic growth rate and therefore ease concerns in the market about its ability to pay back its public debt of 120 percent of GDP.The euro zone debt crisis will be discussed at the G7 because it is one of the major reasons for the fall in investor confidence, but it was unlikely that euro zone countries would be pressured to do more than already agreed, the source said. There was unlikely to be pressure, for instance, for the euro zone to further increase its emergency bailout fund, the EFSF, because more financial commitments to the fund from Germany and France could undermine their AAA credit rating. The mood is not for finger-pointing, but what we can do together to address the issues, that have become incredibly more complicated, the official said.

The G7 is also likely to point to the need for a rotation of growth -- that when developed countries are slowing down, emerging economies like China and other Asian powerhouses should pick up the slack. In this context, the G7 is likely to call for economies with large current account surpluses to increase domestic demand and allow their exchange rates to appreciate, the official said. The G7 is also likely to discuss the IMF's call for further recapitalization of European banks, the sources said, but the EU is likely to stick to its position that bank stress tests last July were an adequate indication of the sector's capital needs and that work to address them was already under way.Japan was likely to bring up the issue of the appreciation of the yen, but the recent rise of the U.S. dollar against most major currencies as investors sought a safe haven was likely to make any currency discussion less sharp, the official said. There was unlikely to be any agreement on any joint intervention on the foreign exchange markets, the official said.(Reporting by Jan Strupczewski; Editing by Hugh Lawson)

Germany's top court to decide on Greek bailout
Today SEPT 5,11 @ 00:04 By Honor Mahony

Germany’s highest court is on Wednesday (7 September) due to give its verdict on the legality of Berlin's contribution to both Greece's first bailout and the eurozone rescue fund. The court ruling comes at a sensitive time in the country's debate over the eurozone (Al Fed)Earlier statements by judges involved in the case suggest the court is unlikely to declare Germany's steps to secure the eurozone illegal but will demand that the parliament has more say – similar to a recent ruling it handed down on the EU's Lisbon Treaty. The central issue is whether the court believes the budget rights of the German parliament have been undermined by the huge sums involved, and the extent to which it can make guarantees for amounts that account for a substantial part of the country's budget.Constitutional court president Andreas Vosskuhle at the case hearing on 5 July spoke about whether precautionary measures need to be introduced to maintain the budget sovereignty of the Bundestag. He also said the case was about whether an absolute limit for the size of the loans should be set and whether parliament should have the right to approve each payout to troubled euro countries.Udo Di Fabio, another court judge, at the July hearing said that budgetary power represents the crown jewels of parliament. The legal challenge was brought by centre-right MP Peter Gauweiler and a group of academics. They argue that Berlin’s actions last year breach both the country's constitution and EU law.

It violates the basis rules of the European treaties and the structural principles of monetary union - namely the ban taken on the liabilities of other states, said one of the plaintiffs, law professor Karl Schachtschneider, in July.Germany, as Europe's paymaster, pays most of the €110 billion EU-IMF Greek bailout agreed last year and has the greatest national share of the €750 billion rescue fund established to prevent the crisis from spreading further. The country's participation in the first Greek bailout and in the subsequent bailouts to Ireland and Portugal as well as a second aid package to Athens, agreed in July, has proved deeply unpopular. The political debate has centred on a feeling that the EU is moving towards being a transfer union that will be propped up by Germany. But Vosskuhle was careful to point out that the court is not deciding on economic policy but on a question of law.The future of Europe and the right economic strategy aren't being debated in Karlsruhe, he said. That is up to the politicians, not the judiciary. The ruling comes at a sensitive time in Germany's debate on eurozone politics. The parliament is on 29 September due to decide whether to approve a July deal by EU leaders to make the bailout fund more flexible.Political parties have already indicated that they want parliament to approve the purchase of government bonds and to have a veto over whether to grant new aid to a country. The court's judges are well aware of the impact of the ruling ahead of the parliament vote. According to Spiegel Online, Vosskuhle last week said the date was partly accidental, partly intentional.

Central Banks, BIS and Goldman Sachs Coercion
Sartre Infowars.com September 5, 2011

http://www.infowars.com/central-banks-bis-and-goldman-sachs-coercion/

Did you ever wonder why countries allow private central banks to issue their money? Somehow, missing in the self-governing status of governments is the courage to deny the seduction or the threats of the global banking cabal, over the control of a nation’s currency. How did this obvious usurpation of independence become an unquestioned acceptance by the very governments who proclaim to be sovereign nations? The answer reveals that the right of autonomous government is now dependent upon the approval of the banking cartel. The myth that a historic country can exert their populist will and financial self-determination, when it conflicts or opposes the interest and objectives of the moneychangers, is outright fantasy. In an Interview with Jean-Claude Trichet, President of the ECB , conducted on 20 April 2011 by Mr Jorma Pöysä (Kauppalehti) and Mr Juhana Rossi (Helsingin Sanomat), published on 26 April 2011, the following makes it very clear just who is in charge.
Question: As you may know, a populist and euro-hostile party called True Finns won the general election in Finland last weekend, obtaining almost one-fifth of the votes. Are you worried that this anti-euro sentiment will grow in other euro area countries? Could it dampen the willingness of triple A countries to accept new rescue arrangements and therefore slow the gradual recovery from the recession and the debt/banking crisis? Answer: As a central bank we issue a currency for absolutely all political sensitivities. We are the guardian of a public good – a credible and stable currency – and that public good is for the service of all our fellow citizens. We are, by construction, a multi-partisan and multinational institution. I will not comment on the functioning of our democracies. We fully respect the functioning of our democracies in which we have the fortune to live in Europe.Translate for our democracies the vassal states of the usury masters. Blackstone’s Commentaries on the Laws of England, p. 1336 reads: When money is lent on a contract to receive not only the principal sum again, but also an increase by way of compensation for the use, the increase is called interest by those who think it lawful, and usury by those who do not.

The Money Masters. How International Bankers Gained Control of America

Niall Kilkenny in The Moneychangers Exposed at Last, concludes. In the ancient world, the usurer quickly became owner of most of the country and had all the silver and gold. Then the peasants became slaves or revolted. Under the paper system, the final collapse can be postponed by printing more fake money. Inflation is the handmaid of the paper system. It is economic warfare, and more deadly than an invading army, because it comes from the enemy within.Today central banks command far more power to dictate financial consequences than any government. Simply stated, governments dare not restrict or abolish their monopoly schemes that make or break political regimes. The Money Masters video gives an excellent account on How International Bankers Gained Control of America.Yet, this same pattern repeats itself throughout the world. Can there be any doubt that the banksters directed NATO to remove Col Muammar Gaddafi because he was proposing a pan African financial system that would abandon the strangle hold of the IMF? Gold stocks in the hands of a rebel, prescribes the need to overthrow and punish anyone who dares defy the interest debt machine. The ultimate moneychanger, the Bank of International Settlement calls the tune. The Money Masters site exposes the practice. The Central bankers’ Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in 1988 in the Basel I regulations imposed an 8% capital reserve standard on member central banks. This almost immediately threw Japan into a 15 year economic depression. In 2004 Basel II imposed mark to the market capital valuation standards that required international banks to revalue their reserves according to changing market valuations (such as falling home or stock prices). The US implemented those standards in November, 2007. In December 2007 the US stock market collapsed and credit began drying up as banks withheld loans to comply with the 8% capital requirement as collateral valuations began to drop. The snowball effect of tightening credit, which reduces economic activity and values further, which resulted in further tightening of credit, etc., has produced a worldwide depression which is worsening.Charles Scaliger adds in Basel III and Sound Banking published in the New American. The set of rules agreed upon, which are being called the Basel III rules, will give banks until the end of the decade to come into compliance with new global financial standards, including a mandatory reserve of so-called Tier 1 capital of six percent (up from four percent) and an additional emergency reserve — a conservation buffer — of 2.5 percent. Champions of the new rules, like Jean-Claude Trichet, chairman of the European Central Bank, believed the measures would strengthen the global economy in coming years by — in Trichet’s words — leading to a fundamental strengthening of global capital standards.Others, like Sheila Bair, head of the FDIC, pushed for a quicker phase-in and for still higher capital standards. Banks themselves, especially cash-strapped large European banks, were relieved at the long phase-in, which they hope will buy them time to get their financial houses in order.

It should be clear that the financial markets are subject to the decrees of a shadow top down system, set up by elites, to achieve not only economic manipulation but also political control. In the article Bank of International Settlements Total Rip-Off, Matthias Chang transitions into the ties with the investment bankers. The Bernankes, the Geithners, the Paulsons, the Larry Summers and their pals in Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Citigroup, Merrill Lynch, Bear Sterns, Lehman Brothers, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and their European counterparts are given blanket immunity and allowed to continue the rape and plunder of the global economy. I believe that unless progressive financial analysts and commentators simplify their analysis and commentaries so that more people will understand how the frauds have been committed, the status quo would remain and the plunder would continue.Enter the poster boy of Wall Street excess, Goldman Sachs. Forget what you hear about the Vampire Squid you read about in Matt Taibbi’s Bubble Machine, the source you need to follow is goldmansachs666.com. Mike Morgan started the blog and as soon as the blood sucking calamari got wind of the effort, Goldman Sachs decided to tell him he could not do what he was doing. They sent a cease and desist letter, and Morgan filed a Complaint in the United States District Court. Now the next circus is gearing up – Could Blankfein Face Prison? This drama will just divert a needed inquiry, away from the tyrannical usury financial fraud and the systemic debt despotism, that rules the planet.Recall that Blankfein emphatically told the subcommittee, We didn’t have a massive short against the housing market, and we certainly did not bet against our clients. The 650-page subcommittee report (PDF) presented on April 13, 2011, which cites Blankfein 79 times, begs to differ. The report accused Goldman of trading against its clients by simultaneously shorting certain subprime mortgage securities (a.k.a. cats and dogs) while stuffing them into the collateralized debt obligations it sold. It also suggested that Goldman executives, including Blankfein, misled Congress in testimony surrounding the Abacus CDO, Hudson, Timberwolf, and other deals, by saying it didn’t have a big short.Books can be written about the insanity in speculative instruments and exotic swaps, but it all comes down to a variation on the ruse, which is based upon charging interest on debt created money. Greed will always exist, but the acceptance of the tenants of central banking and financial exchange gambling will continue and assure to produce the same results. The elites accumulate more control over the resources and the slaves pay a higher price for mere survival.

International financial markets and central banks must stamp out any threat to their criminal syndicate. Usury (Riba) the notion of interest payments in conventional banking is impermissible in Shariah law, because it is considered usury and is therefore unjust. The Law of Moses states, Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of anything that is lent upon usury (Deut. 23:19).Yet in this world of incalculable debt, the practice of private banks maintaining the sole ability to invent magic entries in an accounting ledger that draws interest payments from governments continues. The alternative to this demonic plot requires governments to issue their own debt free currency. Leaders without fail have been killed for thinking such revolutionary thoughts.Nothing short of an entire repudiation of the global banking monocracy, will liberate people from the global gulag. State coercion is paid with the blood money that drains your vital sustenance. As the worldwide depression spreads and the fascist enforcer beats the last critical signs of resistance out of the masses, the few who are in positions of leadership need to break their silence and engage with the populace to rebel. It is time to drive the moneychangers out of the affairs of nation states.

Government Issues Dubious Terror Advisory as 9/11 Anniversary Nears Kurt Nimmo Infowars.com September 5, 2011
http://www.infowars.com/government-issues-dubious-terror-advisory-as-911-anniversary-nears/

The Department of Homeland Security and the FBI have issued a warning about a possible al-Qaeda attack on the anniversary of September 11. The government says Muslim cave dwellers will use small aircraft in the attack. There are 228,000 general aviation planes at 4,000 airports nationwide.Authorities are stepping up security, reports KTRK in Houston, even though there’s no information about a specific threat.
According to experts, al-Qaeda plans to strike on the tenth anniversary with a large-scale attacks and smaller attacks said to be easier to pull off. There are 228,000 general aviation planes at 4,000 airports nationwide. Since implementing police state security on all small planes is impossible, the government has instead issued a high alert to airports. Two FBI agents actually came in and introduced themselves and told me about the possibility of, not a specific threat, but that al Qaeda was planning to use general aviation to harm us here in America, flight instructor Bob Wood with Diamond Aviation told KTRK.In 2004, the TSA used the theft of a crop duster in Mexico to issue a terrorist advisory. The TSA admitted they did not have any information indicating terrorists had stolen the aircraft, but issued the advisory regardless. Past information indicates that members of al-Qa’ida may have planned — or may still be planning — to disperse biological or chemical agents from crop-dusting aircraft, the TSA said.Any possible chemical or biological threat posed by a terror group that has a history of deploying mentally deficient terrorists like Richard Reid and Umar Farouk Abulutallab is a remote possibility at best.

Even if they have the ingredients, a fairly pure agent and explosives, construction of an effective device poses a significant challenge to a kitchen-table terrorist, writes John Lettice for the Register. The construction process is extremely dangerous, and it’s perfectly possible that the resultant device will have no effect at all.Obama was accused of issuing exaggerated non-specific terror threats last year for political reasons. The former boss at the Department of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge, admitted in his memoir that the Bush administration used terror warnings in 2004 during the election. The dubious warnings coincided with the release of an equally dubious Osama bin Laden tape. The September 11 anniversary provides a unique opportunity for the establishment to reanimate their flagging war on terror with a new round of fear-mongering propaganda and will allow them to exploit decade old footage of the attacks in order to insist that al-Qaeda – the CIA created terror group that has not launched a successful attack since that date (if we assume they indeed did carry out the attack) – remains a threat requiring Gestapo goons at airports, a high-tech surveillance grid, and the dismantlement of the Bill of Rights.

Mayor of London Makes Bizarre 9/11 Comments-Boris Johnson wants to see controlled demolition of conspiracy theories Paul Joseph Watson
Infowars.com Monday, September 5, 2011

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson, a man who has turned looking like an idiot into an art form, made some bizarre comments today about hoping for a controlled demolition of the weird conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11.While unveiling a somewhat macabre memorial to the victims of the attack which consists of a sculpture made out of remains of the World Trade Center, Johnson stated, The key thing is 10 years on from 9/11, people still believe a load of tripe about this thing. There’s lot of stuff on the Internet, lots of weird conspiracy theories that people believe – we’ve got to have a controlled demolition if you like of those misconceptions, remind people of the tragedy of what really happened,he added.Of course, the bizarre context of the comments is that in deriding so-called conspiracy theories about the attack, Johnson’s use of the term controlled demolition is a tongue-in-cheek nod to the fact that is obviously aware of research concerning the planned implosions of the twin towers and WTC 7, which wasn’t hit by a plane.

Unfortunately for Boris, people far more credible than him have questioned the official 9/11 story, including the majority of the 9/11 commissioners tasked by the U.S. government with investigating the attacks.Former 9/11 Commissioner Max Cleland called the investigation on which the official story is based a national scandal, while his colleague John Farmer, Senior Counsel to the 9/11 Commission, said the truth was a radically different story from had been told to…the public.9/11 Commission co-chair Lee Hamilton said I don’t believe for a minute we got everything right, that the Commission was set up to fail, that people should keep asking questions about 9/11, that the 9/11 debate should continue, and that the 9/11 Commission report was only the first draft of history. In addition, thousands of engineers and structural architects have gone public to express their contention that the collapses of both twin towers and Building 7 were consistent with a controlled demolition, exactly as Johnson terms it.As we have discussed, this week we will be bombarded with a blitz of mainstream network specials about 9/11 which will all serve the universal purpose of reinforcing the myth of the official fable.
So flimsy and discredited is the government version of events that the likes of the BBC, The History Channel (which loves to denigrate 9/11 conspiracies while simultaneously broadcasting programs sympathetic to the view that aliens from outer space are visiting us on a regular basis), and National Geographic constantly have to air and rebroadcast hit pieces against 9/11 truth to try and psychologically hammer home the approved explanation into the minds of the public. This weekend’s official 9/11 memorial event in New York will be absent ground zero heroes – many of whom are dying as a result of the government’s lie in the days after 9/11 that the air was safe to breathe – because 9/11 first responders are not invited to proceedings as a result of a directive out of Mayor Bloomberg’s office.

Austin-area wildfire burns a record 476 homes in Texas Reuters By Karen Brooks | Reuters – SEPT 5,11

AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - A massive wildfire east of the Texas state capital of Austin has destroyed 476 homes since Sunday and is still burning out of control, state officials said on Monday.I'm still seeing no containment, said April Saginor, public information officer for the Texas Forest Service, who confirmed that the Bastrop County Complex Fire has scorched more than 25,000 acres and burned 476 residences so far. That's a record in Texas for a single fire, she said of the homes destroyed. The Bastrop fire is one of more than sixty fires which have kindled across Texas since Sunday afternoon, fueled by the gusty winds generated as Tropical Storm Lee pushed by in the Gulf of Mexico as it made landfall in Louisiana. The winds and the number of fires that are happening around Central Texas has caused a real strain on firefighters around this area, Bastrop County Judge Ronnie McDonald told reporters. The Bastrop County area about 30 miles east of Austin is no stranger to wildfires, with rural brush common, residents said. But the speed the fire showed in spreading took everyone by surprise, and 19 subdivisions in the county of about 70,000 people saw evacuations in the last 24 hours. Many people who were evacuated said they left with only the clothes on their backs, while others managed to escape with a handful of family photos. There was a policeman that started hollering through a big megaphone, telling us to get out of our houses immediately, now! said a woman who lives in one of the Bastrop County subdivisions.

This fire is nowhere near being under control,Bastrop County Emergency Management Coordinator Mike Fisher said.Fisher said a second fire has broken out southwest of the main fire, in southwestern Bastrop County. But he said crews were finally been able to contain the main fire north of the Colorado River, and he was confident it is not likely to move into more populated areas west of the main fire zone.Saginor said more than 250 firefighters were working on the Bastrop fire, which stretches for 16 miles with a breadth of six miles in some spots. The Texas Forest Service said heavy air tankers have been brought in from as far away as South Dakota, and all day they have been dumping tons of water on fires all day long.We are also using bulldozers to create firebreaks, we are using many fire engines, we are attacking the fire directly, and we hope to have aircraft working all day,Fisher said.Additional mandatory evacuation orders have been issued for various parts of Bastrop and also Travis County, where the city of Austin is located and is the scene of the 150 acre Steiner Ranch Fire, which had destroyed 25 homes by Monday and prompted the evacuation of more than 1000 homes. We know that this is tough on people who have been evacuated, said Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell.Especially since there is no set time for people to return.Schools have been canceled tomorrow in the fire zone, and the Red Cross has opened several shelters to house evacuees. This is far from over,Leffingwell said.(Additional reporting by Jim Forsyth. THE FIRST JUDGEMENT OF THE EARTH STARTED WITH WATER-IT ONLY MAKES SENSE THE LAST GENERATION WILL BE HAVING FLOODING
GENESIS 7:6-12
6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.
8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
GOD PROMISED BY A RAINBOW-THE EARTH WOULD NEVER BE DESTROYED TOTALLY WITH A FLOOD AGAIN.BUT FLOODIING IS A SIGN OF JUDGEMENT.

Hurricane Katia grows to Category 3 storm
AP – Mon Sep 5, 5:45 pm ET

MIAMI – Hurricane Katia has grown to a Category 3 storm as it moves across the Atlantic Ocean. On Monday afternoon, Katia's maximum sustained winds had increased to 116 mph (185 kph). That makes Katia a major hurricane, and some additional strengthening is expected later in the day.Hurricane specialist Todd Kimberlain says it's looking less likely that Katia will hit land but that wind from the storm could still affect the U.S. East Coast as it moves north. Kimberlain also says the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions should still keep an eye on Katia.Katia is centered about 495 miles (795 kilometers) south of Bermuda and is moving northwest near 12 mph (19 kph).

At least 100 homes damaged by storms near Atlanta
Reuters SEPT 5,11

ATLANTA (Reuters) – At least 100 homes were damaged by thundershowers and possible tornadoes that raked Atlanta's northern suburbs on Monday as the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee moved inland, but no serious injuries were reported.Local fire officials said the turbulent weather struck Cherokee County at about 3 p.m. local time, downing power lines, snapping utility poles, uprooting trees, shattering glass and shearing roofs and siding from buildings. The damage extended from the city of Woodstock at the south end of the county to the town of Ball Ground at its northern edge.It was a pretty long stretch, about 14, maybe 15 miles, said Tim Cavender, spokesman for the Cherokee County Fire Department. He said at least 100 homes sustained damage in the area, mostly from high winds, and there may be more.A fire department lieutenant reached by telephone said that number was about right. It's significant, added Howard Baker, a spokesman for the county sheriff's department. We've got numerous homes and commercial businesses with varying degrees of damage.
Fallen trees crushed cars and buildings, he added, describing the overall damage as widespread but far from devastating.I'm not aware of any homes that were demolished, he said.

One man who sought refuge in his basement was slightly injured by debris that fell on him and was taken to an area hospital to be checked out, Cavender said.He and Baker said some damage appeared to have been caused by tornadoes when severe thunderstorms rolled through the area, but it would take another day to confirm any tornado activity. The county as a whole lies roughly 20 to 40 miles north of Atlanta, the state capital. The National Weather Service earlier on Monday issued tornado watch advisories in parts of several states, including Georgia, as Tropical Storm Lee continued to lash the Gulf Coast and the Southeast as it weakened after making landfall early on Sunday in southern Louisiana.(Reporting by Steve Gorman; Editing by Peter Bohan)

Lee's remnants spawn Ga. twisters, drown Miss. man
AP By HOLBROOK MOHR and DORIE TURNER, Associated Press – SEPT 5,11

ATLANTA – The slow-moving remnants of Tropical Storm Lee dumped rain across the South and whipped up twisters that damaged dozens of Georgia homes as the system pushed farther inland on Monday. In Mississippi, a man was swept away by floodwaters after trying to cross a swollen creek, while authorities called off the search for a missing swimmer presumed dead off Alabama. The system was sweeping through Alabama and pushing into Tennessee and Georgia by the evening.Suspected twisters ripped off siding and shingles and sent trees crashing through roofs in Cherokee County, about 30 miles north of Atlanta. The Georgia Emergency Management Agency said about 100 homes were damaged there. One man was taken to the hospital with superficial injuries after he was hit by flying debris.Tornadoes that caused minor damage were also reported in Alabama. Numerous roads were flooded in the Birmingham, Ala., and Chattanooga, Tenn., areas. More than 7 inches of rain had fallen in Chattanooga.

Mickey Swims and his wife hid in the basement of their house in Woodstock, Ga., as an apparent tornado passed.I heard it and saw the trees go around and around, Swims said. I knew when I heard it that if it touched down, it was going to be bad.Swims owns the Dixie Speedway, where he estimated the storm caused $500,000 worth of damage. That includes about 2,000 feet of chain-link fence uprooted from its concrete base, walls blown out of a bathroom and concession stands and tractor-trailer trucks turned into mangled messes. In other parts of the state, six families were evacuated from a Catoosa County apartment building because of flooding, while slick roads caused an 18-car pileup in Monroe County, said agency spokeswoman Lisa Janak. No one was injured in those cases.Tropical Storm Lee really made a mess in Georgia, she said.In areas of Louisiana and Mississippi that took the brunt of the storm over the weekend, thousands remained without power. Lee's center came ashore Sunday in Louisiana, dumping up to a foot of rain in parts of New Orleans and other areas. Despite some street flooding, officials said New Orleans' 24-pump flood control system was doing its job.Heavy rain continued to fall in Mississippi on Monday, and a swollen creek near an apartment complex in Jackson prompted officials to move 45 families into a storm shelter. In Louisiana's Livingston Parish, about 200 families were evacuated because of flooding. The man who died in Mississippi, 57-year-old John Howard Anderson Jr., had been in a car with two other people trying to cross a rain-swollen creek on Sunday night. Tishomingo County Coroner Mack Wilemon said Anderson was outside of the car and couldn't hold onto a rope thrown by a would-be rescuer.

Jonathan Weeks, a 48-year-old salesman from Plantersville who owns a vacation home nearby, said he helped pull two people to shore and tried to save Anderson.Weeks said he and his wife saw a van crossing the creek, and he happened to have a rope in the tool box of his truck. It all happened so fast. They were in there trying to get out and panicking. The power was out so everything was dark, Weeks recalled in a phone interview Monday. We threw them a rope and tied it to a tree, Weeks said.We got two of them to the bank and were trying to help the driver. We had him on the rope and were trying to pull him in, but I don't think he was able to hold on.Elsewhere, the heavy rain made for a dud of a Labor Day holiday as Gulf Coast beaches mostly cleared of tourists. On Monday morning, the main road on Alabama's Dauphin Island was flooded and covered with sand, jellyfish and foam washed in by Lee. Customers trickled in to the town's largest store on what should have been a busy day. It's been kind of boring, said Tabitha Miller, a clerk at Ship and Shore. It's not killing us though since we're the only gig in town.In Gulf Shores to the west, surf churned up by the storm proved treacherous. The Coast Guard suspended its search for a swimmer who went missing Sunday. Local authorities were transitioning to efforts to find his body, said Maj. Anthony Lowery of the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office. The storm was expected to move up the Tennessee River Valley on Tuesday, and forecasters have warned people to be on the lookout for tornadoes. Several already had been reported, including one that damaged five homes in Harrison County.

The rain had stopped out in the Gulf of Mexico, allowing oil and gas production platforms and rigs to look for damage and get operations kick started again on Monday. Federal regulators said evacuations had shut in about 61 percent of oil production and 46 percent of natural gas production in the Gulf.Residents in Lee's wake are worrying about the effects of soggy ground. Part of a levee holding back a lake in Mississippi's Rankin County gave way, endangering some homes and a sod farm. Rankin County Road Manager George Bobo said officials could order evacuations of the few homes if the situation gets worse. The indention left by the levee slide didn't go all the way through to the water, though.Sharon Spears, a 54-year-old special education teacher, stood in her front yard Monday looking up at the red dirt exposed from the levee slide.I'm concerned, Spears said. I won't sleep any tonight.Sandy Shamburger said a full breach would ruin his sod farm.It would be devastating. It would probably be the end of Rankin Sod, he said.Associated Press writers Jay Reeves in Dauphin Island, Ala., and Randall Dickerson in Nashville, Tenn., contributed to this report.

Gulf coast braces for more rain, one dead
Reuters By Kelli Dugan – Mon Sep 5, 5:36 pm ET

MOBILE, Ala (Reuters) – Gulf Coast residents from Texas to Florida struggled with a third day of severe weather on Monday with one man dead and a teenager missing in rough waters as remnants of Tropical Storm Lee lashed the region. The tail end of the storm is expected to produce rain accumulations of up to 15 inches across the central Gulf coast, the National Weather Service said on Monday. Flash flood watches were in effect in along the coast until 7 p.m.Tornadoes spawned by the system have also touched down in Gulf coast states and are likely to threaten the Southeast through Tuesday, forecasters said.A Corinth, Mississippi man drowned late Sunday. Tishomingo County coroner Mack Wilemon said Howard Anderson, Jr., 57, was swept into floodwaters and drowned around 11 p.m. while awaiting rescue from a vehicle.Heavy rains will continue to expand northeastward into the Tennessee Valley and southern Appalachian mountains through Tuesday, with rainfall amounts of 4 to 8 inches likely and isolated amounts of 12 inches possible, according to the National Weather Service. These may cause life threatening flash floods and mudslides, the weather service said.Thunderstorms plowed through Mobile, Baldwin and Washington counties in Alabama on Monday morning, downing trees and power lines from Dauphin Island to Citronelle.Tornadoes have touched down in Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia and Florida, according to AccuWeather.com.

TEEN SWEPT AWAY

A 16-year-old boy was swept out into the surf on Sunday afternoon just east of Fort Morgan, Alabama. The Baldwin County Sheriff's Office identified him as Conrad Charleston Hathcoat of Hoover, Alabama.Maj. Anthony Lowery with the Baldwin County Sheriff's Office said Hathcoat and two other teens were standing near the coastline when a large wave hit, carrying two of them into the surf. One was able to make it back to shore, and rescuers retrieved Hathcoat's mother who tried unsuccessfully to reach her son in the 10-foot waves. The U.S. Coast Guard suspended its search for the boy on Monday afternoon.Rupert Lacy, emergency management director in Harrison County, said at least five homes in the coastal Mississippi county were damaged on Sunday by suspected tornado activity in the Saucier community. No injuries were reported.Lacy said at least one Harrison County resident was taken to a local hospital after he was injured when lightning traveled through a phone line.Highway 90 is one of my big concerns. In some places you can't be sure if you're on the beach or the highway, he said.Lacy said the Mississippi Department of Transportation would be bringing in reinforcements from the Hattiesburg, Mississippi, area to assist in damage assessments on Monday.Response crews are attuned to the threat of tornadoes after devastating twisters ravaged northern Alabama on April 27, killing more than 230 people and leveling portions of Tuscaloosa, Concord and Pleasant Grove.

Rainfall totals on Monday have ranged from 4 to 5 inches in the northern portion of coastal counties in Alabama and Mississippi to as much as 12 inches near the coast, Williams said. The Florida Panhandle received between 5 and 6 inches.A coastal flood watch was in effect for the affected areas until 7 p.m. with tides expected to be as much as 3 feet above normal with waves of 7 to 10 feet.Meanwhile, Alabama Power Co. crews were working to restore power to 16,000 customers statewide as the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee continued to work their way slowly to the northeast.(Reporting by Kelli Dugan; Editing by Mary Wisniewski and Peter Bohan)

Strong quake hits west Indonesia; at least 1 dead
AP By ALI KOTARUMALOS, Associated Press – SEPT 5,11

JAKARTA, Indonesia – A powerful earthquake jolted the western Indonesian island of Sumatra early Tuesday, killing a 12-year-old boy and sending people streaming from houses, hotels and at least one hospital in panic. The magnitude-6.6 quake was centered 60 miles (100 kilometers) southwest of the city of Medan and 62 miles (110 kilometers) beneath the earth's crust, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was too far inland to generate a tsunami. The quake hit at about 1 a.m. (1800 GMT Monday), rattling people from their sleep in towns and villages across the island's northern tip.Maura Sakti, a mayor in Subulussalam, told local station TVOne a 12-year-old boy had been killed. At least one other person was injured.Hundreds of people were evacuated to temporary shelters as authorities surveyed the extent of the damage, said Lt. Col. Helmy Kesuma, police chief in the hard-hit town of Singkil.

Some electricity poles were knocked down there, crashing into homes and causing blackouts. My wife was screaming, my children crying, said Burhan Mardiansyah, 37, a Singkil resident. We saw our walls start to crack and everything inside the house was falling. Thank God we're all safe. The panic extended all the way to Medan, the sprawling provincial capital of North Sumatra, where hundreds of patients from at least one hospital had to be evacuated, some in wheelchairs or with infusion drips still attached to their arms.Hotels emptied out and residents ran into the streets or the balconies of their rented homes, clutching babies to their chests.Fearing aftershocks, many refused to go back inside for hours.Indonesia straddles a series of fault lines that makes the vast island nation prone to volcanic and seismic activity.A giant quake off the country on Dec. 26, 2004, triggered a tsunami in the Indian Ocean that killed 230,000 people, half of them in Indonesia's westernmost province of Aceh.Associated Press writer Niniek Karmini contributed to this report.

MUSLIM NATIONS

EZEKIEL 38:1-12
1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog,(RULER) the land of Magog,(RUSSIA) the chief prince of Meshech(MOSCOW)and Tubal,(TOBOLSK) and prophesy against him,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech(MOSCOW) and Tubal:
4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws,(GOD FORCES THE RUSSIA-MUSLIMS TO MARCH) and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
5 Persia,(IRAN,IRAQ) Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
6 Gomer,(GERMANY) and all his bands; the house of Togarmah (TURKEY)of the north quarters, and all his bands:(SUDAN,AFRICA) and many people with thee.
7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.(RUSSIA-EGYPT AND MUSLIMS)
10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.

ISAIAH 17:1
1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

PSALMS 83:3-7
3 They (ARABS,MUSLIMS) have taken crafty counsel against thy people,(ISRAEL) and consulted against thy hidden ones.
4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5 For they (MUSLIMS) have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:(TREATIES)
6 The tabernacles of Edom,(JORDAN) and the Ishmaelites;(ARABS) of Moab, PALESTINIANS,JORDAN) and the Hagarenes;(EGYPT)
7 Gebal,(HEZZBALLOH,LEBANON) and Ammon,(JORDAN) and Amalek;(SYRIA,ARABS,SINAI) the Philistines (PALESTINIANS) with the inhabitants of Tyre;(LEBANON)

DANIEL 11:40-43
40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south( EGYPT) push at him:(EU DICTATOR IN ISRAEL) and the king of the north (RUSSIA AND MUSLIM HORDES OF EZEK 38+39) shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.(JORDAN)
42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

EZEKIEL 39:1-8
1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog,(LEADER OF RUSSIA) and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech (MOSCOW) and Tubal: (TUBOLSK)
2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts,(RUSSIA) and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands,( ARABS) and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
6 And I will send a fire on Magog,(NUCLEAR BOMB) and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
8 Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.

JOEL 2:3,20,30-31
3 A fire(NUCLEAR BOMB) devoureth before them;(RUSSIA-ARABS) and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army,(RUSSIA,MUSLIMS) and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.(SIBERIAN DESERT)
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.(NUCLEAR BOMB)
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

Libyans say China, Europe sent arms to Gaddafi
Reuters By Mohammed Abbas – Mon Sep 5, 6:42 pm ET

TRIPOLI (Reuters) – Libya's new leadership has evidence Muammar Gaddafi bought arms this year from sanctions-busting traders in China and Europe, many of them via Algeria, but are split over how far to retaliate against governments who failed to stop it.In interviews with Reuters in Tripoli on Monday, officials of the National Transitional Council (NTC) also accused Algeria of acting as Gaddafi's lifeline, providing him with vital supplies and fighters during Libya's six-month war.Libya may seek legal and diplomatic redress against suppliers and governments. But representatives of the NTC, which is still forging its common policies two weeks after ending 42 years of one-man rule, also stressed a need to work with major powers like China, and to let bygones be bygones, even if that included selling the guns Gaddafi used against the rebels or CIA and MI6 cooperation with his agents. We have gathered evidence from many sources, including the main documents that were gathered here in Tripoli, that point the finger at several countries that had been supplying Gaddafi with weapons and arms, as well as intelligence officers, said Abdul Rahman Busin, an NTC military spokesman.China, anxious that its lukewarm stance on the uprising not cost it oil and contracts in the new Libya, responded on Monday to the publication of unearthed Libyan documents seeming to show that state firms offered Gaddafi weaponry. It confirmed some staff met Libyan envoys in July without the state's knowledge.

In July the Gaddafi government sent personnel to China without the knowledge of the Chinese government and they engaged in contact with a handful of people from the companies concerned, Foreign Minister spokeswoman Jiang Yu said. The Chinese companies did not sign arms trade contacts, nor did they export military items to Libya, she added, saying those Chinese involved would be dealt with in a serious way.
Busin said it was unclear if the weaponry detailed in the documents -- about $200 million of guns, bullets and rockets for shipping via Algeria -- ever arrived before the war ended. But arms did reach Gaddafi from abroad despite a U.N. embargo tightened after the rebellion broke out in the east in mid-February.Supplies did get to Gaddafi from several sources, Busin said. There are things that we found on the battlefield that he didn't have before. New things. He and other NTC officials acknowledged that governments of countries from which arms were exported, and even manufacturers themselves, might not have been aware that goods were bound for Libya due to the use of intermediaries. But Busin said he thought some political authorities would have known.A lot of it was done through a middle man, he said. Both middle men and with the countries.Aside from China, he said: We are looking into several countries in eastern Europe. He also said Western suppliers may have been involved, though probably not from NATO members. He did not know the firms involved, but believed it would be possible to identify them: We don't actually have a list of companies. But there are only so many companies in the world that produce arms still. That narrows it down quite a lot.Saving particular scorn for Algeria, the only North African state yet to recognize the NTC and which has given refuge to Gaddafi's wife and daughter, Busin said: I guess you can call them his right hand man. They were his main lifeline for everything. From basics of food and water supplies to weapons, ammunition, mercenaries, fuel. They were providing him with everything. And we have plenty of evidence for that. The ousted Libyan leader's wife Safia, daughter Aisha and sons Mohammed and Hannibal entered Algeria on August 29 after the Libyan leader was toppled from power.Libya's interim rulers have described Algeria's decision to shelter Gaddafi's family as an act of aggression. On moves against those involved in smuggling, he said: We'll be going through legal channels, through international courts, as well as the United Nations itself, either to prosecute them or to come to a diplomatic understanding.Others stressed a need for reconciliation.

Jalal al-Gallal, a spokesman for the NTC, said I believe Chinese assurances that Beijing was unaware of arms sales. The persons who are trying to bring it into Libya are the ones to blame, he said. Algeria is more to blame than the Chinese themselves, with all honesty. Even if the Chinese knew it was destined for Libya, they weren't delivering it there. It's a mistake. We regret it very much. But we need to look forward, we need to progress, we can't dwell on these things.Asked if the affair could affect current and future trade, he said: We need to honor the contracts that are already signed. We have maintained that claim. It will reflect very badly on the NTC if it does not honor those statements. He added that in future, That's up to the elected government at the time. It's very premature to say that future governments will punish them.We all need to remember that China is a superpower. We all rely on products that come from China. We would have hoped they would have been on our side ... But if it is the interests of the Libyan people to deal with China, then we will deal with Chin ... It is very expensive and time consuming trying to settle old scores. But Gallal also added: Of course there will be some reaction. We will favor certain countries who stood by us.Busin, too, addressing documents indicating U.S. and British intelligence cooperated with Gaddafi against Libyan dissidents, said past disputes should not color Libya's future: There's a lot of work to be done, both diplomatically, politically. Sometimes to forgive and forget is the best course of action.Aref el-Nayed, a senior NTC official and director of a unit known as the Libyan Stabilisation Team, said: Free Libya is keen on great relations with all of humanity ... Different countries had different attitudes toward the Gaddafi regime. The NTC will not be discriminatory because of this.He added: China is a very important member of the international community and we look forward to great relations with China and we look forward to great relations with Russia and all other countries. What is important is that all countries have now entered this consensus (supporting the NTC) and it is from this baseline that we will build our relations.Noman Benotman, a former Libyan Islamist militant now working as a senior analyst for British counter-radicalism think tank the Quilliam Foundation, said in London that China was not the only source of weaponry for Gaddafi: It's not just Chinese firms, he said. Some Western arms dealers were also interested in doing deals with Gaddafi right up until the end.(Additional reporting by Chris Buckley in Beijing, Christian Lowe in Tripoli and Peter Apps in London; Writing by Alastair Macdonald and Barry Malone; Editing by Andrew Heavens)
