No signs of violence were found on the body of a Palestinian man who died in Israeli custody, the Haaretz daily reported Friday, citing unnamed medical sources.Palestinians have said that Muhammad Zaghloul Khatib, 24, died after he was beaten by soldiers following his arrest early Tuesday at his home in the West Bank village of Bayt Rima, near Ramallah.The Israel Defense Forces has confirmed Khatib died in its custody, but it has denied claims that he was injured during the raid.“At 6 a.m., special [Israeli] forces raided the martyr’s home and then arrested and violently beat him in front of his family. Two hours later, the Palestinian [Military] Liason informed us that he was martyred,” Bayt Rima Mayor Yazan Rimawi told The Times of Israel on Tuesday.Following his arrest, Khatib’s family say they were contacted by a Palestinian intelligence official who asked whether he had any medical issues, Haaretz reported. An autopsy has yet to be conducted to determine the cause of death, according to Haaretz.“He received treatment from troops and was taken to the hospital, escorted by an IDF medical team, who performed CPR. Israel will deduct tax revenues it collects for the Palestinian Authority by the amount paid to a Palestinian teenager who stabbed an Israeli man to death, Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon said Friday.The Times of Israel reported earlier this week that the family of Khalil Jabarin, the 17-year-old terrorist who stabbed American-born Ari Fuld to death in the West Bank on Sunday, would be eligible for a monthly salary from the PA once the correct paperwork had been completed.“I ordered a reduction of funds for the Palestinian Authority by the amount transferred to the family of the despicable terrorist who murdered Ari Fuld,” Kahlon wrote on his Twitter account.The finance minister also said he would look into other ways “to limit the economic activity” of Jabarin’s family, but did not specify any further measures being weighed.“Ari was a moral person, a lover of the land [and] man and a devoted father of four. No signs of violence were found on the body of a Palestinian man who died in Israeli custody, the Haaretz daily reported Friday, citing unnamed medical sources.Palestinians have said that Muhammad Zaghloul Khatib, 24, died after he was beaten by soldiers following his arrest early Tuesday at his home in the West Bank village of Bayt Rima, near Ramallah.The Israel Defense Forces has confirmed Khatib died in its custody, but it has denied claims that he was injured during the raid.“At 6 a.m., special [Israeli] forces raided the martyr’s home and then arrested and violently beat him in front of his family. Israel will deduct tax revenues it collects for the Palestinian Authority by the amount paid to a Palestinian teenager who stabbed an Israeli man to death, Finance Minister Moshe Kahlon said Friday.The Times of Israel reported earlier this week that the family of Khalil Jabarin, the 17-year-old terrorist who stabbed American-born Ari Fuld to death in the West Bank on Sunday, would be eligible for a monthly salary from the PA once the correct paperwork had been completed.“I ordered a reduction of funds for the Palestinian Authority by the amount transferred to the family of the despicable terrorist who murdered Ari Fuld,” Kahlon wrote on his Twitter account.The finance minister also said he would look into other ways “to limit the economic activity” of Jabarin’s family, but did not specify any further measures being weighed.“Ari was a moral person, a lover of the land [and] man and a devoted father of four. The former secretary rejected the allegations from senior US officials, including the president himself who called Kerry’s actions “illegal.”The Logan Act criminalizes negotiations by unauthorized parties with foreign governments, not meetings such as the ones Kerry held with Zarif or Olmert with Abbas.Earlier this month, the deputy head of the Likud party’s Youth Movement was ousted after he attended a meeting with Abbas in Ramallah that was organized by the Peace Now settlement watchdog.In a statement explaining the move, Youth Movement Chairman David Shayan said that Yoel Nagar attended the meeting on his own accord. Shayan called Abbas an anti-Semite and a Holocaust denier and said that anyone with a position in the faction’s youth movement cannot meet with such a person.Netanyahu, for his part, has met with the PA leader on several occasions, including at the 2016 funeral of former statesman Shimon Peres.However, the two have not met for substantive talks since 2010, and regional peace efforts have continued to falter since a US-led initiative collapsed in April 2014.Nonetheless, Netanyahu has on numerous occasions — as has Abbas — expressed his willingness to sit down with the PA leader.
