Casey Anthony lies low on first day of freedom

ORLANDO, Fla. – This is what freedom looks like for Casey Anthony: $537.68 from her jail account, no job, estranged parents, a criminal record, lawsuits pending against her and the scorn of multitudes who think she got away with murder.She quickly gave reporters the slip after walking out of jail Sunday, but whatever life she manages to build for herself will be lived under a media microscope and the shadow of countless threats.Right now we are just moving forward and trying to start putting the pieces back together for Casey's life, her attorney, Jose Baez, told Geraldo Rivera by phone on Fox News Channel late Sunday.Experts who have helped other notorious defendants through rough times say she will have opportunities as well, but it won't be easy for the 25-year-old, who was found not guilty of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, but convicted of lying to investigators.With her hair in a bun, Casey Anthony walked out the front door of an Orlando-area jail shortly after midnight, wearing a pink T-shirt, blue jeans and sneakers, and escorted by sheriff's deputies holding semi-automatic rifles. Protesters shouted baby killer and you suck as she climbed into an SUV.
The vehicle sped away and darted into a parking garage at a building where one of her attorneys has offices. Where she went next is unknown.Soon after her release, there was police activity at Orlando Executive Airport as two vehicles pulled up to a twin-engine private jet bound for Columbus, Ohio, but no one saw Anthony get out and onto the plane. Ohio is the home state of Anthony's parents, but an official at the Columbus airport said the aircraft was only carrying golfers back from a Florida vacation.Casey is in good hands, said Todd Macaluso, a former member of Anthony's defense team who declined to comment further.Baez did not respond Sunday to email and phone messages left by The Associated Press, nor did other lawyers on her defense team and those representing her father and mother. And in the Fox News interview, Baez declined to talk about his client's whereabouts or state of mind.
Asked her plans including whether she might enter a residential therapy program, Baez said lawyers for Anthony are certainly exploring all possibilities right now. Baez said he was foremost concerned about Anthony's safety, and struck out at media commentators who have been condemning Anthony as guilty despite the jury's verdict.
This young woman had her day in court,Baez told Fox News. We need to start respecting jury verdicts and decisions that juries make.Asked if Anthony planned to cash in on her fame, Baez said she has certain rights as an individual in this country. But Baez denied one entrepreneur's claim on the network that he had acquired the rights to an interview with her for $1 million, and said that in fact he wouldn't be meeting with the man after the televised boast. Attorneys planned to handle Anthony's affairs in a dignified manner, he said.If she decides she wants to speak publicly about it, she'll make that decision, he said.Another former Anthony lawyer, Terry Lenamon, said he had no clue where she was headed, and that probably only a few people close to her knew.I wouldn't want anyone to know, he said.I think she needs to go underground and I think she needs to spend some time to get her life back together.Anthony's July 5 acquittal shocked and enraged many around the country who had been following the case since Caylee's 2008 disappearance. Anger has spilled onto social media sites and elsewhere. Her legal team said on Friday it had received an emailed death threat.Anthony did not report her daughter's disappearance for a month and was arrested after telling a string of lies about the case to police. Caylee's remains were found in December 2008 near the home Casey Anthony shared with her parents.Prosecutors alleged that Anthony suffocated her daughter with duct tape because motherhood interfered with her desire for a carefree life, but her lawyers said the girl drowned in an accident that snowballed out of control. Some of the jurors who acquitted Anthony said they believe she bears some responsibility for her daughter's death but that prosecutors failed to prove that she murdered the child.
Anthony had remained in jail to finish a four-year sentence for lying to investigators. With credit for the nearly three years she'd spent in jail since August 2008 and good behavior, she had only days remaining when she was sentenced July 7.Her public vilification did not ease with her release from jail. A baby killer was just set free! Bree Thornton, 39, shouted as the SUV left the jail.She is safer in jail than she is out here, said Mike Quiroz, who drove from Miami to spend his 22nd birthday outside the jail. His clients have included the late singer Michael Jackson when he was charged with child molestation and actor Robert Blake when he was charged with murdering his wife.Anthony could accept requests for paid interviews, or a benefactor may be able to help her in the short term, Mesereau said.When you have that degree of celebrity, there is usually somebody who would like to get involved, Mesereau said.The problem is trusting anyone. People are willing to leak things to the media. They're willing to be paid off for information. It's very difficult to find people whom you can trust.As of Sunday, though, those closest to her had revealed little about her future plans. Baez said in a brief statement issued as she was being released that he hoped Anthony could receive the counseling and treatment she needs to move forward with the rest of her life.Other attorneys on her defense team have not hinted at where she might go, and neither have her parents, whose relationship with Casey Anthony is strained. During trial, Anthony's defense attorneys argued that her father, George Anthony, molested Casey as a child and covered up Caylee's death. He has denied both claims, and neither has been substantiated.What is known is that Casey Anthony still faces a slew of legal problems even though the criminal charges have been resolved. She has been sued for hundreds of thousands of dollars by a Texas group that searched for Caylee in the weeks after she was reported missing, and prosecutors are seeking to recoup the cost of their investigation into Caylee's disappearance.
Anthony also is being sued for defamation by a woman named Zenaida Gonzalez who claims she has been harassed and unable to find work after Anthony alleged Caylee was kidnapped by a baby sitter with Gonzalez' name. The woman's attorneys had wanted to depose Anthony before she left jail, but the deposition was rescheduled for October.Any of those civil cases could put a major dent in any money Anthony receives for writing a book, signing a movie deal or doing interviews. Anthony is broke, and her defense team was paid for with taxpayers' money after $200,000 she received from ABC News was spent.Several book publishers contacted by The Associated Press said they knew of no memoir that was being shopped around and consider her too tainted to sign a deal.Anthony could avoid the potential liability of hundreds of thousands of dollars from the lawsuits by filing for bankruptcy, though plaintiffs would probably attempt to keep her on the hook for damages if she signs lucrative deals after filing, said R. Scott Shuker, an Orlando bankruptcy attorney.There is a potentially huge upside to keep the income and not owe the debt, but you know these folks are going to challenge it so she would be having more trials, Shuker said.An important step in building a new life is getting psychological help to cope with her notoriety, severed family ties and newfound freedom, said attorneys with clients in similar circumstances.Everything she has been through, that's more than most people can deal with in a lifetime, said Daniel Meachum, an Atlanta attorney who has represented football player Michael Vick when he was convicted of dog fighting and actor Wesley Snipes when he was convicted of tax evasion.Media relations expert Marti Mackenzie, who specialized in legal cases, said it's important for Anthony to make some kind of public statement soon. She said a standard news conference is out of the question, but Anthony needs to say she made terrible mistakes, that she is grateful to her defense team and that she has thought about what happened every day of her life in jail.In traditional public relations language, it's called feeding the beast,Mackenzie said. Even if you don't give the beast a full meal, you respond. IMF slams EU over slow-moving crisis reponse

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - The International Monetary Fund has sharply criticised the EU's protracted debate over its second bailout for Greece saying it urgently needs to dispel uncertainty.What is critical now is for Europe to dispel the uncertainty that is being created by the lack of what is perceived by markets as an insufficient response Ajai Chopra, IMF mission chief to Ireland, said on Thursday while announcing the results of a review of Ireland's economic EU-IMF economic programme.
What is lacking so far is a European solution to a European problem.He went on to say that the risk of contagion of eurozone malaise - Italy saw a sharp spike in its borrowing costs last week - is pushing up Ireland's yields.If it wasn't for contagion risks we would be seeing significantly lower spreads in the case of Ireland. The downgrade is largely a reflection of events outside Ireland.With Greece, Ireland and Portugal all subject to an EU-IMF loan, and Athens in line for a second one, there have been worries that crisis could spread as markets doubt the EU's political commitment to deal with the current troubled states.This doubt has deepened as eurozone states have been locked in a struggle to work out the technicalities of involving the private sector in a second Greek loan, something pushed by Germany but viewed by agencies - even if the participation is voluntary - as akin to a selective default.We need to come to closure on this debate on private sector involvement,Chopra urged.But while the EU may have come in for criticism, the international assessment team, which also includes representatives from the European Central Bank and the European Commission, gave Ireland the thumbs up for its work so far on bringing down its large deficit.The teams' assessment is that the programme remains on track and is well financed,the three institutions said in a statement.
They recommended that Ireland should get the next €4 billion installment of its bailout, as well as an additional €500 million in bilateral loans from the UK.With the voices of protesters outside clearly audible during the press conference, Chopra was asked directly about the harsh social consequences of the EU-IMF programme.
Ireland has an unemployment rate of 14 percent. Its citizens have been subjected to higher taxes while at the same time seeing a sharp reduction in basic public services.Chopra replied that Ireland would have been worse off without the international community stepping in.The adjustment would have been much more painful without the EU-IMF cushion, he said.

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - Iran's current capabilities do not justify the development of an extensive missile shield covering all Europe and the US, since Tehran poses more of a threat in the Gulf region and to Israel rather than Paris or Washington, a missile defence expert has said.Iran isn't really a threat to the US or Western Europe. Rather to Turkey, Israel and US forces based in the region. Possibly also to the very south-eastern corner of Europe - Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Michael Elleman, a Bahrain-based expert with the Institute for International Security Studies in London told this website.Having jointly worked with US, European and Russian experts on an assessment of the missile threat to Europe, Elleman said the current deployment of warship-based interceptors in the Mediterranean was the best solution and the US should not continue with a bigger plan of putting land-based anti-ballistic missiles to cover the entire territory of Europe.What we've concluded in our study is that if Iran was able to target London or Paris, it would have to develop a longer-range system and to test that, they would have to do it in flight. And you can't hide that activity,he said.Replacing the Bush-era project which would have deployed land-based counter-missiles in Poland and a radar facility in the Czech Republic, the 2009 plan announced by President Barack Obama has four stages: the already deployed ship-based interceptors and a radar in Turkey - provided Ankara and Washington strike a deal - followed by land-based interceptors in Romania in 2015.These two phases would cover the threat posed by Iran's current and most likely capabilities in the near future. In phase three and four, however, the shield would extend to Poland and northern Europe, aiming to protect the entire Euro-Atlantic space from potential long-range ballistic missiles.
The uncertainty about what these last phases are about are still a major irritant for Russia, Elleman notes.Americans have a history of saying we're going to do this and then when they start doing it, it grows bigger and bigger. It's that uncertainty they're concerned with, he explains.Joint mechanisms for working out possible common projects have so far yielded few results, despite having eased the tensions of the George W. Bush era, when Moscow was threatening to deploy its own missiles on the Polish border.A highly polarising topic in US politics, the idea of having zero-risk anti-ballistic missile defence goes back to 1983, when US President Ronald Reagan made his famous Star Wars speech outlining for the first time the idea of an anti-ballistic shield covering the entire US territory.But the tens of billions of US dollars that would eventually flow into this project, were it to be completed in all its phases, will eventually push someone to ask the embarrassing question why we are paying these billions to protect Europe.A self-declared missile defence sceptic, Elleman argued that the technical challenges are immense for creating a shield to protect civilian areas, cities and industrial sites. Anti-ballistic missiles work in war theatres, where casualties are expected. But it's much more complicated if debris fall on a city, or you can't hit all the incoming missiles.Elleman argues that building strategic defences against something neither US and Europe are really sure about is a waste of time and money.The essential question to me is what is Iran capable of doing and what do we foresee it will be capable of in the near future. That should be the focus of the discussion, but it hasn't been to date.Looking at the current Iranian capabilities, the expert noted that the country has a very limited conventional army and no amphibious capabilities to invade, let's say, Bahrain or Saudi Arabia.Ballistic missiles and rockets fired from small boats against US ships are the extent of their capability so far.But the actual damage they can do with a missile, provided it has no nuclear warhead on it, is quite narrow. There would be less than 1000 deaths if they launched their entire arsenal of missiles.They could do much more damage with suicide bombers than with missiles, Elleman said.
As for the nuclear threat, the expert said it was worrying that Iran was pursuing its nuclear programme, particularly since if they were to aquire the bomb, Saudi Arabia may put all its money into getting one as well.But he is not convinced that Tehran has yet taken the decision to build the bomb - an effort which would most likely take another year. And then, if they have one bomb, what will they do with it? he asked, noting that in order to be a nuclear power and have a real deterrent for neighbouring countries, Iran would need a dozen bombs which would take another several years to build.Being on the verge of acquiring the bomb may actually be enough of a deterrent. But then again, there are different factions within the Iranian regime and the more radical ones may push forward the decision to build the bomb.

Italy's lower house of parliament is set Friday for fast-track approval of a three-year austerity budget amid pressure from both the markets and other EU member states to take swift action.With senate approval (161 to 135 votes) given on Thursday, the lower house is expected to greenlight the measures designed to eliminate Italy's budget deficit by 2014 through a combination of cuts and taxes amounting to €45bn.Fears that the eurozone crisis would spread to Italy came to the fore last week when markets became nervous that infighting in Rome would see tough budget decision postponed. Ajai Chopra, the IMF's official in Ireland, on Thursday said that contagion risks were directly responsible for Ireland's credit rating earlier this week being downgraded to junk status by Moody's rating agency.
The markets are waiting for the EU to reach a deal on a second loan to Greece. Eurozone finance ministers promised swift action at their meeting on Monday but gave no details.Since then the EU has been vacillating over holding an emergency summit. One is expected to be called only when a deal has been agreed, with much dependent on Germany, which is holding out for the involvement of the private sector.A pre-requisite [for the summit] is that we can decide on a ready-made, new programme for Greece, said German chancellor Angela Merkel on Thursday, according to Reuters.
She spoke in favour of a quick agreement but added that it must also be a reasonable one.
Summers urges aggressive euro zone crisis response

WASHINGTON (Reuters) – Former White House aide Lawrence Summers on Sunday urged Europe to take a more aggressive response to the debt crisis sweeping the region and suggested patience with its approach was running thin.In an opinion piece published by Reuters, Summers -- a Harvard professor and former Treasury secretary under President Bill Clinton -- said that if Europe does not get the crisis under control soon, other G20 countries should become more vocal in pressing Europe on doing what they think is best.It is to be hoped that European officials can engineer a decisive change in direction but if not, the world can no longer afford the deference that the IMF and non-European G20 officials have shown toward European policy makers over the last 15 months, Summers wrote.His comments came ahead of a summit of Euro zone leaders Thursday in Brussels aimed at a second rescue deal for Greece.Alarmed by the spread of market jitters over Greece to Italy and Spain, where bond yields have surged in the past 10 days, European governments are struggling to put together a second bailout of Greece that would supplement a 110 billion euro rescue launched in May last year.
Summers argued that if there is any chance for success in stemming the financial crisis, policymakers must first recognize that maintaining systemic confidence is key.There must be a clear and unambiguous commitment that whatever else happens, the failure of major financial institutions in any country will not be permitted, Summers wrote.He said the European Central Bank (ECB) was right to be concerned that punishing creditors for the sake of teaching lessons or building political support was reckless in a system that depends on confidence.Summers, who headed the National Economic Council for the first two years of the Obama administration, called for a fundamental shift toward an approach that focuses on avoiding systemic risk.He also laid out measures for containing the euro-debt storm including:
* Interest rates on official sector debt be reduced to a European borrowing rate defined as the rate at which common European entities backed with joint and several liability by all the countries of Europe can borrow.
* Countries whose borrowing rate exceeds some threshold -- perhaps 200 basis points over the lowest national borrowing rate in the Euro system -- should be exempted from contribution requirements for bailout funds.
* Countries judged to be pursuing sound policies will be permitted to buy EU guarantees on new debt issuances at a reasonable price payable on a deferred basis.

Tropical storm could form near northern Bahamas

MIAMI (Reuters) – A tropical depression formed in the Atlantic Ocean near the northwest Bahamas on Sunday and forecasters at the U.S. National Hurricane Center said it could strengthen into Tropical Storm Bret by Monday.The swirling mass of thunderstorms was expected to pass near the northern islands of the Bahamas and then curve out over the open Atlantic, staying away from the U.S. coast and the energy interests in the Gulf of Mexico.The government of the Bahamas issued a tropical storm watch for Grand Bahama Island and the Abaco islands in the northwest Bahamas, alerting residents that tropical storm conditions are possible within 48 hours.The disturbance had top winds of 35 miles per hour (56 km per hour). If those rotating winds reach 39 miles per hour (63 km per hour), it would become Tropical Storm Bret, the second storm of the Atlantic-Caribbean hurricane season that runs from June 1 to November 30.The disturbance was drifting south and was expected to turn slowly north-northwest on Monday, dumping up to 3 inches of rain on the northwest Bahamas and roiling the surf on some the islands' beaches.It was forecast to move away from central Florida, where the space shuttle Atlantis is scheduled to land on Thursday.

Worst heatwave in years grips Midwest, moving east

CHICAGO (Reuters) – An oppressive and potentially deadly summertime mix of sizzling temperatures and high humidity baked a large swath of the country again on Sunday, pushing afternoon heat indexes in dozens of cities to dangerous levels.Forecasters warned the heatwave would persist through much of the coming week and cautioned residents in more than three dozen states to take extra precautions.The National Weather Service posted excessive heat warnings for much of the country's midsection, including Illinois, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, as well as South and North Dakota, where forecasters predicted heat indexes could hit 115 degrees.This will likely be the most significant heat wave the region has experienced in at least the last five years, the weather service said.

Japan radioactive beef scare widens

TOKYO (AFP) – A scare in Japan over radioactive beef spread on Sunday with more parts of the country reporting contaminated meat, four months after March's quake and tsunami triggered a nuclear disaster.Meat from 132 cattle that ate straw tainted with high levels of radioactive caesium are known to have been shipped across the country, according to local media including national network NHK and the Asahi Shimbun.Of the 47 prefectures in Japan, contaminated meat is believed to have been shipped to 36 of them and consumed in 31, NHK said, including Tokyo.Some supermarkets in the capital have put up signs warning about radioactive beef.The government is expected on Tuesday to ban all beef shipments from Fukushima prefecture, where the crippled Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant is still emitting radiation.Japan has not set up a centralised system to check food for radiation, relying instead on testing carried out by local authorities.Kohei Otsuka, senior vice health minister, suggested that the beef shipment ban may also be expanded to cover areas outside Fukushima, depending on the results of investigations into the extent of the contamination.

(CNN) -- Casey Anthony is set to walk free from a Florida jail on Sunday, three years and one day after she was first arrested for her role in the disappearance and, eventually, death of her 2-year-old daughter.The Orlando woman's release comes 12 days after a jury acquitted her on murder and child neglect charges. That verdict brought an abrupt end to a six-week trial that drew intense media hype for its elements of family drama and the continued mystery over what happened to young Caylee Anthony.A print reporter, videographer and photographer were expected to arrive around 10 p.m. Saturday at the Orange County jail facility to document Anthony's release, according to the county corrections department. They will then share details with the legions of other journalists camped out in a staging area outside the jail's booking center.By Saturday afternoon, about 20 satellite TV trucks and many other vehicles from news outlets nationwide were positioned to broadcast the news onsite. They were joined by a handful of demonstrators, mostly voicing their opposition to Anthony's release, though one man standing by himself under a tree did tote a sign reading, She's not guilty. She was initially taken into custody July 16, 2008, and had been jailed -- with some brief exceptions, having been freed on bail on multiple occasions -- for most of the past three years.Her toddler girl's skeletal remains were eventually found in a wooded field not far from the home of Casey Anthony's parents in December 2008, seven months after she was last seen.

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said Tuesday that investigators are assessing threats to Anthony's safety. While he said the department was not aware of any credible threats to her life, it's a concern that was clearly on his mind.Nobody has a right to take the law in their own hands, he said.Casey Anthony had her day in court and the jury made a decision. I would hope people would step back and would not go out and commit another crime.It's also a concern for her attorneys.Myself and other members of the team are concerned for her safety, very much so, one of her attorneys, Dorothy Sims, told HLN.What Anthony will do after her release is unclear.
If I knew at this point, I'm sure you can appreciate that I wouldn't tell you, Sims said. I don't believe that that has been resolved. My hope for her would be that she would be left alone and her privacy would be respected.Hostin said on CNN that she's heard reports that Anthony will go into hiding, live under an assumed name or get plastic surgery.But I think we are going to hear her story, because people have offered her a million dollars already for her story, she said.

(CNN) -- Casey Anthony is set to walk free from a Florida jail on Sunday, three years and one day after she was first arrested for her role in the disappearance and, eventually, death of her 2-year-old daughter.The Orlando woman's release comes 12 days after a jury acquitted her on murder and child neglect charges. That verdict brought an abrupt end to a six-week trial that drew intense media hype for its elements of family drama and the continued mystery over what happened to young Caylee Anthony.A print reporter, videographer and photographer were expected to arrive around 10 p.m. Saturday at the Orange County jail facility to document Anthony's release, according to the county corrections department. They will then share details with the legions of other journalists camped out in a staging area outside the jail's booking center.By Saturday afternoon, about 20 satellite TV trucks and many other vehicles from news outlets nationwide were positioned to broadcast the news onsite. They were joined by a handful of demonstrators, mostly voicing their opposition to Anthony's release, though one man standing by himself under a tree did tote a sign reading, She's not guilty. While she was cleared on the more serious charges, the jury of seven women and five men did convict Casey Anthony on four counts of misleading law enforcement agents who were investigating Caylee's whereabouts.Orange County Superior Court Chief Judge Belvin Perry Jr. gave Anthony credit for time served in determining the release date. She was initially taken into custody July 16, 2008, and had been jailed -- with some brief exceptions, having been freed on bail on multiple occasions -- for most of the past three years.Her toddler girl's skeletal remains were eventually found in a wooded field not far from the home of Casey Anthony's parents in December 2008, seven months after she was last seen.

Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings said Tuesday that investigators are assessing threats to Anthony's safety. While he said the department was not aware of any credible threats to her life, it's a concern that was clearly on his mind.Nobody has a right to take the law in their own hands, he said.Casey Anthony had her day in court and the jury made a decision. I would hope people would step back and would not go out and commit another crime.It's also a concern for her attorneys.Myself and other members of the team are concerned for her safety, very much so, one of her attorneys, Dorothy Sims, told HLN.What Anthony will do after her release is unclear.
If I knew at this point, I'm sure you can appreciate that I wouldn't tell you, Sims said. I don't believe that that has been resolved. My hope for her would be that she would be left alone and her privacy would be respected.Hostin said on CNN that she's heard reports that Anthony will go into hiding, live under an assumed name or get plastic surgery.But I think we are going to hear her story, because people have offered her a million dollars already for her story, she said.

Her criminal team is appealing her convictions for misleading police, and she is being sued in two separate actions in civil court. One is filed by a woman with the same name Anthony gave to investigators as the name of her daughter's fictitious nanny. The other involves a search group that wants Anthony to repay expenses they incurred looking for Caylee.Anthony may be offered money for book and movie deals, but one offer won't be on the table.Playboy founder Hugh Hefner told CNN's Piers Morgan that the magazine won't be offering Anthony a pictorial.I wouldn't reward someone like that for what has happened, Hefner said.Defense attorney J. Cheney Mason, who once said he thought of Anthony as a granddaughter, said he doesn't know what life holds in store for his client, but has hopes.She is only 25 years old. It is very important that you act according to your state laws because misapplication of the citizen arrest laws can lead to civil or criminal penalties. Seek legal advice in your state before organizing citizen’s arrest teams.For example, California Penal Code mandates:A private person may arrest another:For a public offense committed or attempted in his presence.When the person arrested has committed a felony, although not in his presence.When a felony has been in fact committed, and he has reasonable cause for believing the person arrested to have committed it. (C.P.C. 837).In some states, however, the citizen making the arrest must have actually witnessed the felonious act.That is, California law allows a citizen’s arrest when a citizen has reasonable cause for believing the person arrested to have committed a felony, whereas New York law applies only to situations in which person has in fact committed a felony.
Acceptable guidelines for carrying out a citizen’s arrest also vary by state. In general, the arresting party must notify the suspect as to why he or she is being arrested, and may enter the building or private residence where the suspect is residing, using a reasonable amount of force to apprehend the suspect. Once the suspect has been taken into custody by the citizen, it is the citizen’s responsibility to deliver the suspect to the proper authorities in a timely fashion (C.P.C. 847). A citizen making an arrest is acting in the place of an officer of the law, and as such, is required to uphold the same rights and civil liberties as an officer of the law must uphold.Rules of engagement for a citizen’s arrest:Inform local law enforcement, at the time when you are ready to conduct the citizen’s arrest,If an identified law officer intervenes during the citizen’s arrest, then stand down,If union thugs or leftist goons become threatening, inform them that a citizen’s arrest is being conducted. 11 July 2011: Just after 10:00 a.m. on March 23rd, 1973, John Dean, White House counsel to former President Richard M. Nixon advised Nixon of a a cancer within-close to the presidency, that’s growing. It’s growing daily. Within the same breath, he advised Nixon that people are going to start perjuring themselves very quickly that have not had to perjure themselves to protect other people and the like. That cancer became known as Watergate, and eventually led to Nixon’s resignation.Nearly forty years later, another scandal, exponentially larger than Watergate, has the potential to bring down the occupant of the oval office along with other high ranking officials. While no one was murdered as a result of Watergate, two law enforcement officers are dead because of the current scandal that is leading closer and closer to the highest levels of the Obama administration, including the Department of Justice and the U.S. State Department.
Obama’s war on guns
After taking office, Barack Hussein Obama began a coordinated effort with U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to control the purchases and ownership of guns in the United States. To justify the implementation of tougher gun control laws and in a direct assault on the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, this administration cited a statement made to Congress by William Hoover, Assistant Director for Field Operations for the BATFE on February 7, 2008. According to that report, 90 percent of the weapons used by the Mexican drug cartels were purchased from or originated from the U.S.That stunning revelation empowered the Obama administration to solicit public support for banning so-called assault weapons in the U.S., and calling for tougher gun control laws. The problem, however, is that the 2008 statement is disingenuous at best.First and perhaps most transparent, it has been noted that only 1 in 5 guns that have been recovered in Mexico actually underwent any form of tracing, leaving 80% untraced. Accordingly, the 90 percent figure is already factually inaccurate.Secondly and perhaps the most scandalous of all is that all figures of cited by this administration pertaining to weapons tracing include weapons sold to the Mexican military via U.S. arms-trading policies under programs such as Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) initiatives. The fact is that the bulk of the arms used by the Mexican drug cartels did not – and do not originate from gun shop sales in the U.S., but from U.S. government sponsored programs that sell weapons and ammunition to the Mexican military as well as other third-world nations.
Many of the weapons used in Mexico and counted in border violence statistics actually arrived in that area from Central American countries involved in U.S. government sanctioned programs administered by the Pentagon and with the knowledge and imprimatur of the U.S. State Department.Interestingly, confirmation of the government’s programs and knowledge by government officials, particularly Hillary Clinton was made public by the recent release of State Department cables published by Wikileaks. The cables prove that the U.S. State Department and Hillary Clinton knew the origins of the bulk of the weapons used by the Mexican drug cartels, although kept this information secret for the greater agenda of U.S. gun control.
Meanwhile, it appears that the Obama administration via Eric Holder, used various weapons tracking programs already implemented to inflate the statistics involving guns originating in the U.S. to advance even tougher gun control measures.Research and investigation indicates that a series of programs implemented under the umbrella of a government sanctioned program known Project Gunrunner were purposely exploited with the knowledge and consent of government officials at the highest of levels.
Project Gunrunner
Part of the Southwest Border Initiative (SBI), Project Gunrunner was an operation that was started under the Bush administration. Ostensibly, the program was established to conduct surveillance, identify and stop the flow of weapons from the U.S. into Mexico and eventually into the possession of drug cartels. The pilot project was initiated in Laredo, Texas by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) in 2005.In April of 2006, the program was expanded to a national level as a weapons interdiction program under the BATFE, formerly known as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).. Project Gunrunner also involved the use of an Internet based weapon tracking system known as eTrace, a program that would permit participating law enforcement agencies to track the origin of confiscated or questionable guns, through their serial numbers, to their point of origin.On April 10, 2008, former Attorney General Michael Mukasey briefed the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations on the status of the project. At that time, Mukasey stated that the ATF has approximately 148 special agents…and 56 industry operation investigators (IOI) responsible for conducting regulatory inspections. Mukasey also stated that the ATF is also expanding its presence at the El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC) which serves as the central repository and clearinghouse for all weapons related intelligence collected and developed by ATF’s field personnel and attaches in Mexico as well as by all other Federal, State and local law enforcement entities involved in narcotics interdiction and investigation along the U.S./Mexico border.By 2009, Project Gunrunner resulted in approximately 650 criminal cases being filed against about 1400 defendants. These cases involved about 12,000 firearms.It is relevant to point out here that Project Gunwalker is not the name of any ATF operation, but a satirical moniker attached to Project Gunrunner.
Operation Fast & Furious
Under the Obama administration, Operation Fast and Furious was launched in early 2009. Under the umbrella of Project Gunrunner, The BATFE commissioned gun shops in the U.S. to sell weapons to known criminal suspects. Ostensibly, this operation was for interdiction purposes, but the agents involved were ordered not to interdict the weapons. What resulted was a mass amount of weapons that actually and genuinely originated in the U.S., with the knowledge and approval of the BATFE, being permitted to walk unmolested across the southern border (hence the satirical name gunwalker).From early 2009 through December 2010, this process was repeated over and over in the southern U.S. despite the objections of numerous BATFE agents and gun shop owners. During this time, several agents began to notify congress and became whistleblowers about the stand-down orders.On December 14, 2010, the inevitable happened. U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was gunned down in Rio Rico, Arizona by an AK-47 that was walked across the U.S. Mexican border with the knowledge and allowance of the BATFE.In addition to Agent Terry, Immigration Customs Enforcement Agent Jaime Zapata was also killed in a separate incident by a weapon allowed to walk into Mexico from the U.S.With the tragic death of agents Terry and Zapata, the blame began to shift to those knowledgeable about the operation, including the acting director of the BATFE Kenneth Melson.
Much bigger than being reported
Unfortunately, the arguably illegal and certainly ill advised methodology implemented by the BATFE is not limited to the Project Gunrunner offshoot of Operation Fast & Furious. Other similar operations, each with the apparent knowledge and approval of the U.S. Justice Department, began to spring up elsewhere. There was also Operation Castaway in Tampa, which mirrored the methods of lack of interdiction as Operation Fast & Furious.According to several agents who are now ready to offer testimony, each operation where weapons were allowed to walk into Mexico from the U.S. was approved at the highest levels of the United States Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of State. Some believe that operations of this magnitude could not have been possible without the knowledge and approval of Obama himself.

Regarding the drama queen debt ceiling talks, yesterday Obama stormed out in a huge huff, saying no more.There will be no temporary move and only permanent solutions.He said unless Congress agreed to increase the debt ceiling by Aug. 3rd, all hell will break lose, apparently against our seniors.I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven’t resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it.Obama told this to CBS News anchor Scott Pelley.What contrived , Rules for Radicals crisis do we have in the making? Obama stormed out yesterday not planning to cut any of his entitlements programs, endless peripheral and waste of money budget items, saying the debt ceiling must be raised. We all know this would start a path of it being raised again and again. The emerging tool and useful crisis for the progressive left and Obama is that seniors might not get paid their social security payments, no doubt because of the evil and uncaring Republicans. Conservatives don’t care about seniors, those with disabilities and women you know.Now lets talk the truth. What is really going on? According to the official Treasury Reports which I read, our coffers have more then enough to pay for all our Entitlement programs, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans and Federal salaries, even throwing in extra for interest. Treasury statements state, on May 16, 2011 the federal government took in $1,333454 trillion in tax revenues. This was from the beginning of fiscal 2011. By July 7, tax revenues had grown to $1,629630 trillion. Do the math. Between May 16 and July 7 our desperate government and Obama who says they may not be able to pay social security soon, took new tax revenue in of $296,176 billion. Here is the bottom line as I take a deep breath. Obama lied again. If he refuses to send out Social Security checks he is full on attacking our seniors and blaming it on the conservatives, when the bold facts show that the new tax revenue of $296,176 billion could easily pay for the $270,151 billion in expenses, meaning Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Veterans Affairs, federal workers wages and insurance benefits. They would still have $26,025 billion in more tax revenue after that to spend on their stupid waste programs.The reason Obama won’t budge in these debt ceiling talks is that he has no intention of stopping the endless waste of money he and the left spend. I strongly believe that Obama has his cronies and is financially setting up his favored Obama status for nothing but manipulated and bought votes. He could care less about the American people, especially our seniors. It is no surprise to me that he would threaten to hold back their social security payments. Remember, Obama and his Chicago Politics mind, must have crisis after crisis to blame conservatives and those running against him on. The stubborn, unserving and manipulative attack strategy of the progressive left and Obama has stalled any ability so far to agree to a debt ceiling budget. Obama talks of a U.S. and worldwide catastrophe if congress and Obama don’t come to a debt ceiling agreement. However, with his doomsday warning, he nor his leftist progressives plan to cut back on anything of real substance that matters.
Negotiations failed on Monday simply because the House Republicans won’t allow any more tax increases on the American people. No tax increases is like another 9/11 to the left you realize. The Democrats are demanding $1 trillion in tax increases over 10 years. Drip, drip, drip and bleed, bleed, bleed….that is the Obama and progressive strategy for America, squeeze out every last cent they can from hard working and struggling Americans while redistributing wealth to their voter block. This is while we are still in a huge recession, jobs are going away, and the housing market is as bad as the Great Depression.Obama apparently has I forgot I said that disease.We are reminded by Stephen Hayes of www.weeklystandard.com that Obama said in an interview in Elkhart Indiana when asked about raising taxes in a deep recession…. The former boss of the Federal Reserve, Alan Greenspan, said the reason Gen-Xers are unemployed and suffering from a lower standard of living is because they are lazy, stupid, and unproductive. U.S. companies would be better off hiring immigrants.Baby boomers are being replaced by groups of young workers who have regrettably scored rather poorly in international educational match-ups over the last two decades, said Greenspan. The average income of U.S. households headed by 25-year-olds and younger has been declining relative to the average income of the baby boomer population. This is a reasonably good indication that the productivity of the younger part of our workforce is declining relative to the level of productivity achieved by the retiring baby boomers. This raises some major concerns about the productive skills of our future U.S. labor force.So-called Gen-Xers are not stupid and lazy. They are victims of globalism and outsourcing. Over the last two decades, jobs have been systematically stripped from the United States and exported to slave gulags in China and India. Gen Xers must compete with people who make two or three dollars a day.
NAFTA and globalist trade agreements are responsible for moving jobs out of the country, not the dismal test scores of Gen Xers.Public education in the United States is not about creating intelligent, innovative and productive citizens. If U.S. Loses AAA Rating It Could Unleash Financial Hell Across United States -The Economic Collapse July 15, 2011 Financial Hell
For decades, the U.S. government has had a AAA rating. On the scales used by the big three credit rating agencies, that is the highest credit rating that a government can get. Moody’s scale actually uses lettering that is a little different from the other two big agencies (Aaa instead of AAA), but you get the point. Right now, the U.S. government is closer than ever to losing its AAA rating. The threat of a rating downgrade is going to continue to grow regardless of how the political theater that we are watching unfold in Washington D.C. plays out. The truth is that the federal government has accumulated a debt that is so vast that it will never be paid back. In fact, we are rapidly approaching the point when this debt will no longer be serviceable. If the credit rating of the U.S. government is not slashed right now, it will be soon enough. In fact, the truth is that the U.S. government is such a financial mess that it should have been done long ago. But whenever the United States does lose its AAA rating, we could potentially see financial hell unleashed because it will also mean that there will almost certainly be a wave of credit rating downgrades from coast to coast.As I have written about previously, government debt becomes more painfulthe higher that interest rates go. When the big credit agencies downgrade the credit rating of a government, that is a signal to investors that they should ask for higher interest rates on debt issued by that government.This does not always play out in practice (just look at Japan), but nations such as Greece, Portugal and Ireland sure are going through financial hell right now as they deal with reduced credit ratings and soaring interest rates.
Right now, the U.S. government is able to borrow gigantic quantities of money at ridiculously low interest rates. This is the primary reason why the debt disaster predicted by so many in the past has not arrived yet.If the credit rating of the U.S. government is downgraded, it could finally get investors all over the world to realize that the game is over and that they should be demanding much higher returns on debt issued by the U.S. government. The truth, as U.S. Representative Ron Paul put it recently, is that the U.S. government is already insolvent and at some point we are all going to have to face reality….Ultimately, the fundamentals show this country is bankrupt.So whether or not it happens right now, the truth is that at some point the credit rating of the U.S. government is going to go down and interest rates are going to go up.Unfortunately, it appears that this might happen sooner rather than later.Earlier this week, Moody’s Investors Service publicly announced that it would be reviewing our Aaa bond rating for a possible downgrade.On Thursday, S&P actually went so far as to announce that there is a 50 percent chance that it will downgrade the credit rating of the U.S. government within the next three months.
S&P has been warning of trouble for some time now. Back on April 18th, Standard & Poor’s altered its outlook on U.S. government debt from stable to negative and warned that a downgrade was likely at some point soon if nothing changed.If the credit rating of the U.S. government gets slashed and if that results in higher interest costs on the national debt, that is going to make it much harder to balance the budget.The U.S. government will take in somewhere around 2.2 or 2.3 trillion dollars this year. It will spend somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.5 or 3.6 trillion dollars this year.Included in that spending is about 400 billion dollars that goes for interest onthe national debt.As I explained in a previous article, if our interest costs double or triple it is going to make it basically impossible to balance the budget under our current system.If interest rates on U.S. government debt were to rise to moderate levels, we could soon be easily paying a trillion dollars a year just in interest on the national debt.If interest rates on U.S. government debt were to rise to the levels that Greece, Portugal and Ireland are now facing, it would be beyond catastrophic.But a reduced credit rating and higher interest rates would not just hurt the finances of the U.S. government.Any financial institution that is linked to the U.S. government in any way would also probably be downgraded.This fact was noted in the announcement put out by Moody’s this week….In conjunction with this action, Moody’s has placed on review for possible downgrade the Aaa ratings of financial institutions directly linked to the government: Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the Federal Home Loan Banks, and the Federal Farm Credit Banks.We have also placed on review for possible downgrade securities either guaranteed by, backed by collateral securities issued by, or otherwise directly linked to the government or the affected financial institutions.
Just think of the financial carnage that would cause.Also, check out what one Bloomberg article had to say about the potential cascading effects of a credit rating downgrade for the U.S. government….At least 7,000 top-rated municipal credits would have their ratings cut if the U.S. government loses its Aaa grade, Moody’s Investors Service said.An automatic downgrade affecting $130 billion in municipal debt directly linked to the U.S. would occur if the federal level is reduced, Moody’s said yesterday in a report. Additionally, top-rated securities with no direct links to the national government will be reviewed for similar action.But the nightmare would not end there. The truth is that the credit ratings of large numbers of state and local governments from coast to coast would likely be reviewed and downgraded as well. Right now, many state and local governments are scratching and clawing in a desperate attempt to survive financially, and a significant rise in interest costs would be enough to wipe many of them out.The ripple effects of a U.S. government credit downgrade would be endless.A lot of people argue that if the federal government ran a balanced budget from now on none of this would matter.
Unfortunately, that is not true.At this point, a very high percentage of U.S. government debt is short-term debt. That means that gigantic amounts of debt must be rolled over each year in addition to any new debt that we take on. So even if interest rates rise significantly on just the existing debt that we have it is going to be a total nightmare.And make no mistake, whether it happens now or later a collapse of U.S. government finances is coming.David Murrin, the chief investment officer at Emergent Asset Management,recently told CNBC the following….It’s inevitable that the U.S. will default—it’s essentially an empire which is overextended and in decline—and that its financial system will go with it.Right now it is being projected that the U.S. national debt will hit 344% of GDPby the year 2050 if we continue on our current course. We are on a runaway train that is heading straight for a brick wall.
Europe is also a complete financial wreck. The sovereign debt crisis over in the EU continues to grow worse by the day and there is no end in sight.If the U.S. collapses, Europe is not strong enough to save it. If Europe collapses, the U.S. is not strong enough to save it.We really are entering an unprecedented time in world history. We are on the verge of the first truly global financial disaster.It is going to be interesting to see which major currency crashes and burns first. Some think that it will be the euro. Others think that it will be the dollar.In any event, the reality is that the current global financial system is not sustainable. The folks that are in charge can try to keep things together for as long as possible, but at some point the dominoes are going to start to fall and the house of cards is going to crash.We have entered a time when there is going to be financial crisis after financial crisis. Even if the EU and the U.S. government can somehow fix things for the moment, more problems are going to be just around the corner.The world has become incredibly unstable and the entire globe is going to be shaken. Most people cannot even conceive of the kind of financial hell that is coming our way as a nation.Yes, it can be a bit sad to think about what is happening, but it is much better to be armed with the truth than to be totally clueless and totally unprepared.

Belief in Global Warming at New Low; Gore Launches Re-Education Project Activist Post July 13, 2011
On Monday, UPI announced the findings of a recent Harris poll that revealed a record low amount of people believe the global warming theory. Only 44% of the 2163 people polled say they believe that CO2 is warming the earth:Only 44 percent say they believe the theory that carbon dioxide emissions are warming the Earth, down from 51 percent in 2009 and 71 percent in 2007, but most movement has been into the not sure column.This poll comes just a week after climate scientists admitted that the climate actually cooled over the last decade, which they blamed on sulfur pollution from China’s coal-burning power plants. This led some to suggest that sulfur emissions could be increased to geoengineer the climate to cool it down further.
Coincidentally, today, Al Gore launched his new attempt to re-educate the masses with the Climate Reality Project, which he calls a global campaign to broadcast the reality of the climate crisis. Gore claims that oil and coal companies are deceiving the public and have unlimited resources to sow doubt, but that he has reality on his side.However, it seems his data is a bit dated. Given the new revelations about coal-burning plants actually cooling the planet, you’d think he’d be now supporting them. Furthermore, it has long been known that BP and other oil companies were founding members of the Cap-and-Trade lobby in support of carbon taxes.
His new organization invites people to reject the mistruths they hear every day and discover the truth about climate change for themselves. Notice he doesn’t say seek the truth, but rather discover it — from him.It’d be unfair to completely pick apart his exact words because this organization seems like it was put together in about five minutes, complete with typos in his announcement and a shabby website with one lonly blog post.Yet, the website makes a startling claim, that they know how to save us from global warming. The final sentence of the About Us section reads The climate crisis is real and we know how to solve it.Gore doesn’t give any details as to how he’ll solve the climate crisis. But if the game plan is still the same one he developed with Ken Lay from Enron, then it’ll likely include giving more money to the banking overlords, further manipulating the biosphere, deliberate reduction in the population, and perhaps even starting a nuclear war.In the video below, put together specifically to launch this project, Gore tells the viewer that the climate crisis is not your fault, but we must act together to fix it. A point he reinforces on their website, Climate change is not your fault for the car you drive, the lights you turn on, or the food you eat. The climate crisis is our problem. Exploiting the 9/11 Tenth Anniversary

As the tenth anniversary of 9/11 approaches, the Islamists and their supporters are busy preparing a disinformation campaign to whitewash Sharia law and Islamic ideology under the banner of an operation they call Prepare New York. The intent is to use a front of interfaith alliances with progressive groups to marginalize those who are trying to expose the truth about the Islamist agenda and to exploit the 9/11 anniversary for propaganda purposes.Prepare New York is following the blueprint laid out by the Muslim Brotherhood in its 1982 manifesto entitled Toward a Worldwide Strategy for Islamic Policy, a 12-point strategy to establish an Islamic Power on the earth. To do this, the Muslim Brotherhood set out to channel thought, education and action to influence centers of power both local and worldwide to the service of Islam, and to work within various influential institutions and use them in the service of Islam.In a document entitled the Explanatory Memorandum On the General Strategic Goal for the Group In North America, written in 1987 and published in 1991, authored by the Muslim Brotherhood operative Mohamed Akram, the work of the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliates in America was described as a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.
The method for eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within would include developing a mastery of the art of coalitions, the art of absorption and the principles of cooperation.One of the first steps for Islamists upon arriving in a non-Muslim country to live is to declare the common bonds between Islam and the more prevalent religions in the host country through bridge-building and interfaith sessions. As they gain more of a foothold, the Islamists become more vocal about the host country’s need to accommodate the special demands of Islamic law, which they couch in human rights terms of free expression of religion, anti-racism and anti-discrimination. They find willing partners among progressive religious groups and opinion leaders to help carry this phony message of tolerance and anti-bigotry.
Prepare New York.Prepare New York is a leading example. It describes itself as a coalition of New York based interfaith organizations who have joined together to help create a city-wide climate that promotes healing and reconciliation in anticipation of the tenth anniversary of 9/11.Their website mentions such Steering Committee Partners as the Interfaith Center of New York, Intersections International, Odyssey Networks, and the Tanenbaum Center.Prepare New York was formed, its website says, in part as a response to the national and international headlines surrounding last summer’s proposed Muslim Community Center in lower Manhattan. The purpose of the coalition is to shift the discussion from one of fear and mistrust targeting any belief or group to one that celebrates New York’s extraordinary diversity of religious freedom and expression.
With such lofty goals and with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and an array of prominent progressive Christian and Jewish groups supporting the mission of Prepare New York, how can anyone criticize it? It all sounds so warm and fuzzy until you look behind the facade and examine common threads amongst at least some of the coalition partners and you discover how they are really all about preparing to channel thought, education and action and to work within various influential institutions and use them in the service of Islam.Let’s start with the fact that one of Prepare New York‘s Action Partners is the unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorist financing case, the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Council for American Islamic Relations.Then there are the connections of various Steering Committee Partners of Prepare New York to the Cordoba Initiative, or the Ground Zero Mosque, and to its founder, Imam Feisal Rauf . Rauf was the imam behind the Ground Zero Mosque project and a co-founder of the American Society for Muslim Advancement , an organization receiving funding from a number of leftist organizations and from foreign nations that are members of the Organization of Islamic Conference and whose objective is to promote a positive image of Islam to the American public.Rauf, who withdrew from direct involvement with the Ground Zero Mosque after a number of his controversial statements came to light, has praised Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, a prominent Muslim scholar and spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood who supports the killing of Jews, the death penalty for apostasy and homosexuality, and the right under Sharia law for Muslim husbands to beat their wives, as a very, very well known Islamic jurist, highly regarded all over the Muslim world.Rauf’s book, What’s Right with Islam Is What’s Right with America, was originally published in 2004 in Malaysia, under a different title: A Call to Prayer from the World Trade Center Rubble: Islamic Dawa in the Heart of America Post-9/11. What’s Right with Islam was an edition of the book published for an American audience and was produced after the original, with Feisal’s cooperation, by the unindicted co-conspirator and Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Islamic Society of North America.
Intersections International, one of Prepare New York’s steering committee partners, lists Rauf as one of its partners. Intersections International receives funding from Odyssey Networks, another steering committee member, which is also a direct funder of Prepare New York.Odyssey Networks includes as one of its members the American Society for Muslim Advancement and lists as one of its personalities none other than Feisal Rauf. Odyssey Networks features on its site a video in which Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf shares his insights on immigrant rights in the USA in the context of Islam and other religions.It is listed as one of the Cordoba Initiative’s supporting partners. Odyssey Networks’ blog also published scathing criticisms of Congressman Peter King’s congressional hearings into the radicalization of American Muslims.The Interfaith Center of New York, another Prepare New York Steering Committee member which boasts the word interfaith in its title, lists Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf as one of its vice chairs and a donor. It too is listed as a supporting partner of the Cordoba Initiative.One of the key advisory committee partners of the Prepare New York coalition is the Abraham Path Initiative. Contributors to the Abraham Path Initiative include the Saudi Arabian Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation. On the board of directors of the Abraham Initiative is Amir Mohammed Mahallati, former UN ambassador from Iran who is said to have been one of the early moving forces behind the idea of another downtown mosque in New York. Mahallati also happened to have served on the board of directors of the Interfaith Center of New York where, as already noted, Rauf is one of the vice chairs.The United Nations’ Alliance of Civilizations, which had its roots in the Iranian-driven Dialogue Among Civilizations,conceived by former Iranian President Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Mohammad Khatami, is a partner in the Abraham Path Initiative. It is also a funder of Intersections International, one of the Prepare New York steering committee partners with ties to Imam Rauf’s Cordoba Initiative. And the UN Alliance of Civilizations has partnered with the Cordoba Initiative on a conference organized by Imam Rauf’s American Society for Muslim Advancement .
So far, we have only looked at the common thread amongst many of the key players behind the Prepare New York initiative being planned around the tenth anniversary of 9/11. But this is just the tip of the iceberg. Recall that part of the Muslim Brotherhood ’s grand strategy, in its own words, is to channel thought, education and action and to work within various influential institutions and use them in the service of Islam.This would include working with progressive organizations to the extent they serve the Islamists’ purposes, such as George Soros Open Society Foundation and One Nation, both of which are helping to fund Prepare New York.One Nation is not only helping to fund Prepare New York. There aren’t any mainstream Jewish scholars who are advocating death to disobedient Jewish sons today. However, the eminent Muslim scholar Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi has stated his understanding of Islamic law that an apostate is a traitor to his religion and his people and thus deserves killing.Harvard University’s Muslim chaplain agreed with Al-Qaradawi. He advised students asking about the punishment for apostasy in Islam that the preponderant position in all of the 4 sunni madhahib (and apparently others of the remaining eight according to one contemporary alim) is that the verdict is capital punishment. He also told them that debating about religious matter is impermissible, in general.Prepare New York is yet another example of stealth jihad. Its backers, with connections to Imam Rauf and the Cordoba Initiative, are trying to exploit the 9/11 tenth anniversary for their own use in the service of Islam. They must be exposed as the hypocrites and deceivers they truly are.

It is very important that you act according to your state laws because misapplication of the citizen arrest laws can lead to civil or criminal penalties. Seek legal advice in your state before organizing citizen’s arrest teams.For example, California Penal Code mandates:A private person may arrest another:For a public offense committed or attempted in his presence.When the person arrested has committed a felony, although not in his presence.When a felony has been in fact committed, and he has reasonable cause for believing the person arrested to have committed it. (C.P.C. 837).In some states, however, the citizen making the arrest must have actually witnessed the felonious act.That is, California law allows a citizen’s arrest when a citizen has reasonable cause for believing the person arrested to have committed a felony, whereas New York law applies only to situations in which person has in fact committed a felony.
Acceptable guidelines for carrying out a citizen’s arrest also vary by state. In general, the arresting party must notify the suspect as to why he or she is being arrested, and may enter the building or private residence where the suspect is residing, using a reasonable amount of force to apprehend the suspect. In California, for example, to make an arrest, a private person, if the offense is a felony may break open the door or window of the house in which the person to be arrested is, or in which they have reasonable grounds for believing the person to be, after having demanded admittance and explained the purpose for which admittance is desired. (C.P.C., 844).
Once the suspect has been taken into custody by the citizen, it is the citizen’s responsibility to deliver the suspect to the proper authorities in a timely fashion (C.P.C. 847). A citizen making an arrest is acting in the place of an officer of the law, and as such, is required to uphold the same rights and civil liberties as an officer of the law must uphold.Rules of engagement for a citizen’s arrest:Inform local law enforcement, at the time when you are ready to conduct the citizen’s arrest,If an identified law officer intervenes during the citizen’s arrest, then stand down,If union thugs or leftist goons become threatening, inform them that a citizen’s arrest is being conducted. If they persist and you feel endangered, be prepared to defend yourselves.If our government officials refuse to uphold the Constitution and the rule of law, then American citizens will be forced to act to save our republic.

11 July 2011: Just after 10:00 a.m. on March 23rd, 1973, John Dean, White House counsel to former President Richard M. Nixon advised Nixon of a a cancer within-close to the presidency, that’s growing. It’s growing daily. Within the same breath, he advised Nixon that people are going to start perjuring themselves very quickly that have not had to perjure themselves to protect other people and the like. That cancer became known as Watergate, and eventually led to Nixon’s resignation.Nearly forty years later, another scandal, exponentially larger than Watergate, has the potential to bring down the occupant of the oval office along with other high ranking officials. While no one was murdered as a result of Watergate, two law enforcement officers are dead because of the current scandal that is leading closer and closer to the highest levels of the Obama administration, including the Department of Justice and the U.S. State Department.
Obama’s war on guns
After taking office, Barack Hussein Obama began a coordinated effort with U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to control the purchases and ownership of guns in the United States. To justify the implementation of tougher gun control laws and in a direct assault on the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, this administration cited a statement made to Congress by William Hoover, Assistant Director for Field Operations for the BATFE on February 7, 2008. According to that report, 90 percent of the weapons used by the Mexican drug cartels were purchased from or originated from the U.S.That stunning revelation empowered the Obama administration to solicit public support for banning so-called assault weapons in the U.S., and calling for tougher gun control laws. The problem, however, is that the 2008 statement is disingenuous at best.First and perhaps most transparent, it has been noted that only 1 in 5 guns that have been recovered in Mexico actually underwent any form of tracing, leaving 80% untraced. Accordingly, the 90 percent figure is already factually inaccurate.Secondly and perhaps the most scandalous of all is that all figures of cited by this administration pertaining to weapons tracing include weapons sold to the Mexican military via U.S. arms-trading policies under programs such as Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) initiatives. The fact is that the bulk of the arms used by the Mexican drug cartels did not – and do not originate from gun shop sales in the U.S., but from U.S. government sponsored programs that sell weapons and ammunition to the Mexican military as well as other third-world nations.
Many of the weapons used in Mexico and counted in border violence statistics actually arrived in that area from Central American countries involved in U.S. government sanctioned programs administered by the Pentagon and with the knowledge and imprimatur of the U.S. State Department.Interestingly, confirmation of the government’s programs and knowledge by government officials, particularly Hillary Clinton was made public by the recent release of State Department cables published by Wikileaks. The cables prove that the U.S. State Department and Hillary Clinton knew the origins of the bulk of the weapons used by the Mexican drug cartels, although kept this information secret for the greater agenda of U.S. gun control.
Meanwhile, it appears that the Obama administration via Eric Holder, used various weapons tracking programs already implemented to inflate the statistics involving guns originating in the U.S. to advance even tougher gun control measures.Research and investigation indicates that a series of programs implemented under the umbrella of a government sanctioned program known Project Gunrunner were purposely exploited with the knowledge and consent of government officials at the highest of levels.

Part of the Southwest Border Initiative (SBI), Project Gunrunner was an operation that was started under the Bush administration. Ostensibly, the program was established to conduct surveillance, identify and stop the flow of weapons from the U.S. into Mexico and eventually into the possession of drug cartels. The pilot project was initiated in Laredo, Texas by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) in 2005.In April of 2006, the program was expanded to a national level as a weapons interdiction program under the BATFE, formerly known as the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF).. Project Gunrunner also involved the use of an Internet based weapon tracking system known as eTrace, a program that would permit participating law enforcement agencies to track the origin of confiscated or questionable guns, through their serial numbers, to their point of origin.On April 10, 2008, former Attorney General Michael Mukasey briefed the U.S. Senate Committee on Appropriations on the status of the project. At that time, Mukasey stated that the ATF has approximately 148 special agents…and 56 industry operation investigators (IOI) responsible for conducting regulatory inspections. Mukasey also stated that the ATF is also expanding its presence at the El Paso Intelligence Center (EPIC) which serves as the central repository and clearinghouse for all weapons related intelligence collected and developed by ATF’s field personnel and attaches in Mexico as well as by all other Federal, State and local law enforcement entities involved in narcotics interdiction and investigation along the U.S./Mexico border.By 2009, Project Gunrunner resulted in approximately 650 criminal cases being filed against about 1400 defendants. These cases involved about 12,000 firearms.It is relevant to point out here that Project Gunwalker is not the name of any ATF operation, but a satirical moniker attached to Project Gunrunner.
Operation Fast & Furious
Under the Obama administration, Operation Fast and Furious was launched in early 2009. Under the umbrella of Project Gunrunner, The BATFE commissioned gun shops in the U.S. to sell weapons to known criminal suspects. Ostensibly, this operation was for interdiction purposes, but the agents involved were ordered not to interdict the weapons. What resulted was a mass amount of weapons that actually and genuinely originated in the U.S., with the knowledge and approval of the BATFE, being permitted to walk unmolested across the southern border (hence the satirical name gunwalker).From early 2009 through December 2010, this process was repeated over and over in the southern U.S. despite the objections of numerous BATFE agents and gun shop owners. During this time, several agents began to notify congress and became whistleblowers about the stand-down orders.On December 14, 2010, the inevitable happened. U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry was gunned down in Rio Rico, Arizona by an AK-47 that was walked across the U.S. Mexican border with the knowledge and allowance of the BATFE.In addition to Agent Terry, Immigration Customs Enforcement Agent Jaime Zapata was also killed in a separate incident by a weapon allowed to walk into Mexico from the U.S.With the tragic death of agents Terry and Zapata, the blame began to shift to those knowledgeable about the operation, including the acting director of the BATFE Kenneth Melson.
Much bigger than being reported
Unfortunately, the arguably illegal and certainly ill advised methodology implemented by the BATFE is not limited to the Project Gunrunner offshoot of Operation Fast & Furious. Other similar operations, each with the apparent knowledge and approval of the U.S. Justice Department, began to spring up elsewhere. There was also Operation Castaway in Tampa, which mirrored the methods of lack of interdiction as Operation Fast & Furious.According to several agents who are now ready to offer testimony, each operation where weapons were allowed to walk into Mexico from the U.S. was approved at the highest levels of the United States Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of State. Some believe that operations of this magnitude could not have been possible without the knowledge and approval of Obama himself.

Regarding the drama queen debt ceiling talks, yesterday Obama stormed out in a huge huff, saying no more.There will be no temporary move and only permanent solutions.He said unless Congress agreed to increase the debt ceiling by Aug. 3rd, all hell will break lose, apparently against our seniors.I cannot guarantee that those checks go out on August 3rd if we haven’t resolved this issue. Because there may simply not be the money in the coffers to do it.Obama told this to CBS News anchor Scott Pelley.What contrived , Rules for Radicals crisis do we have in the making? Obama stormed out yesterday not planning to cut any of his entitlements programs, endless peripheral and waste of money budget items, saying the debt ceiling must be raised. We all know this would start a path of it being raised again and again. The emerging tool and useful crisis for the progressive left and Obama is that seniors might not get paid their social security payments, no doubt because of the evil and uncaring Republicans. Conservatives don’t care about seniors, those with disabilities and women you know.Now lets talk the truth. What is really going on? According to the official Treasury Reports which I read, our coffers have more then enough to pay for all our Entitlement programs, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans and Federal salaries, even throwing in extra for interest. Treasury statements state, on May 16, 2011 the federal government took in $1,333454 trillion in tax revenues. This was from the beginning of fiscal 2011. By July 7, tax revenues had grown to $1,629630 trillion. Do the math. Between May 16 and July 7 our desperate government and Obama who says they may not be able to pay social security soon, took new tax revenue in of $296,176 billion. Here is the bottom line as I take a deep breath. Obama lied again. If he refuses to send out Social Security checks he is full on attacking our seniors and blaming it on the conservatives, when the bold facts show that the new tax revenue of $296,176 billion could easily pay for the $270,151 billion in expenses, meaning Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Veterans Affairs, federal workers wages and insurance benefits. They would still have $26,025 billion in more tax revenue after that to spend on their stupid waste programs.The reason Obama won’t budge in these debt ceiling talks is that he has no intention of stopping the endless waste of money he and the left spend. I strongly believe that Obama has his cronies and is financially setting up his favored Obama status for nothing but manipulated and bought votes. He could care less about the American people, especially our seniors. It is no surprise to me that he would threaten to hold back their social security payments. Remember, Obama and his Chicago Politics mind, must have crisis after crisis to blame conservatives and those running against him on. Obama, I have been taking you on for years on your UN American ways…….no I may run against you.We already know to Obama seniors are in the way since he practically wrote them out of his new Health care program. The stubborn, unserving and manipulative attack strategy of the progressive left and Obama has stalled any ability so far to agree to a debt ceiling budget. Obama talks of a U.S. and worldwide catastrophe if congress and Obama don’t come to a debt ceiling agreement. However, with his doomsday warning, he nor his leftist progressives plan to cut back on anything of real substance that matters.
Negotiations failed on Monday simply because the House Republicans won’t allow any more tax increases on the American people. No tax increases is like another 9/11 to the left you realize. The Democrats are demanding $1 trillion in tax increases over 10 years. Drip, drip, drip and bleed, bleed, bleed….that is the Obama and progressive strategy for America, squeeze out every last cent they can from hard working and struggling Americans while redistributing wealth to their voter block. This is while we are still in a huge recession, jobs are going away, and the housing market is as bad as the Great Depression.Obama apparently has I forgot I said that disease.We are reminded by Stephen Hayes of www.weeklystandard.com that Obama said in an interview in Elkhart Indiana when asked about raising taxes in a deep recession…. Normally, you don’t raise taxes in a recession, which is why we haven’t and why we’ve instead cut taxes. So I guess what I’d say to Scott is – his economics are right. The former boss of the Federal Reserve, Alan Greenspan, said the reason Gen-Xers are unemployed and suffering from a lower standard of living is because they are lazy, stupid, and unproductive. U.S. companies would be better off hiring immigrants.Baby boomers are being replaced by groups of young workers who have regrettably scored rather poorly in international educational match-ups over the last two decades, said Greenspan. The average income of U.S. households headed by 25-year-olds and younger has been declining relative to the average income of the baby boomer population. This is a reasonably good indication that the productivity of the younger part of our workforce is declining relative to the level of productivity achieved by the retiring baby boomers. This raises some major concerns about the productive skills of our future U.S. labor force.So-called Gen-Xers are not stupid and lazy. They are victims of globalism and outsourcing. Over the last two decades, jobs have been systematically stripped from the United States and exported to slave gulags in China and India. Gen Xers must compete with people who make two or three dollars a day.
NAFTA and globalist trade agreements are responsible for moving jobs out of the country, not the dismal test scores of Gen Xers.Public education in the United States is not about creating intelligent, innovative and productive citizens. If U.S. Loses AAA Rating It Could Unleash Financial Hell Across United States -The Economic Collapse July 15, 2011 Financial Hell
For decades, the U.S. government has had a AAA rating. On the scales used by the big three credit rating agencies, that is the highest credit rating that a government can get. Moody’s scale actually uses lettering that is a little different from the other two big agencies (Aaa instead of AAA), but you get the point. Right now, the U.S. government is closer than ever to losing its AAA rating. The threat of a rating downgrade is going to continue to grow regardless of how the political theater that we are watching unfold in Washington D.C. plays out. The truth is that the federal government has accumulated a debt that is so vast that it will never be paid back. In fact, we are rapidly approaching the point when this debt will no longer be serviceable. If the credit rating of the U.S. government is not slashed right now, it will be soon enough. In fact, the truth is that the U.S. government is such a financial mess that it should have been done long ago. But whenever the United States does lose its AAA rating, we could potentially see financial hell unleashed because it will also mean that there will almost certainly be a wave of credit rating downgrades from coast to coast.As I have written about previously, government debt becomes more painfulthe higher that interest rates go. When the big credit agencies downgrade the credit rating of a government, that is a signal to investors that they should ask for higher interest rates on debt issued by that government.This does not always play out in practice (just look at Japan), but nations such as Greece, Portugal and Ireland sure are going through financial hell right now as they deal with reduced credit ratings and soaring interest rates.
Right now, the U.S. government is able to borrow gigantic quantities of money at ridiculously low interest rates. This is the primary reason why the debt disaster predicted by so many in the past has not arrived yet.If the credit rating of the U.S. government is downgraded, it could finally get investors all over the world to realize that the game is over and that they should be demanding much higher returns on debt issued by the U.S. government. The truth, as U.S. Representative Ron Paul put it recently, is that the U.S. government is already insolvent and at some point we are all going to have to face reality….Ultimately, the fundamentals show this country is bankrupt.So whether or not it happens right now, the truth is that at some point the credit rating of the U.S. government is going to go down and interest rates are going to go up.Unfortunately, it appears that this might happen sooner rather than later.Earlier this week, Moody’s Investors Service publicly announced that it would be reviewing our Aaa bond rating for a possible downgrade.On Thursday, S&P actually went so far as to announce that there is a 50 percent chance that it will downgrade the credit rating of the U.S. government within the next three months.
S&P has been warning of trouble for some time now. Back on April 18th, Standard & Poor’s altered its outlook on U.S. government debt from stable to negative and warned that a downgrade was likely at some point soon if nothing changed.If the credit rating of the U.S. government gets slashed and if that results in higher interest costs on the national debt, that is going to make it much harder to balance the budget.The U.S. government will take in somewhere around 2.2 or 2.3 trillion dollars this year. It will spend somewhere in the neighborhood of 3.5 or 3.6 trillion dollars this year.Included in that spending is about 400 billion dollars that goes for interest onthe national debt.As I explained in a previous article, if our interest costs double or triple it is going to make it basically impossible to balance the budget under our current system.If interest rates on U.S. government debt were to rise to moderate levels, we could soon be easily paying a trillion dollars a year just in interest on the national debt.If interest rates on U.S. government debt were to rise to the levels that Greece, Portugal and Ireland are now facing, it would be beyond catastrophic.But a reduced credit rating and higher interest rates would not just hurt the finances of the U.S. government.Any financial institution that is linked to the U.S. government in any way would also probably be downgraded.This fact was noted in the announcement put out by Moody’s this week….In conjunction with this action, Moody’s has placed on review for possible downgrade the Aaa ratings of financial institutions directly linked to the government: Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, the Federal Home Loan Banks, and the Federal Farm Credit Banks.We have also placed on review for possible downgrade securities either guaranteed by, backed by collateral securities issued by, or otherwise directly linked to the government or the affected financial institutions.
Just think of the financial carnage that would cause.Also, check out what one Bloomberg article had to say about the potential cascading effects of a credit rating downgrade for the U.S. government….At least 7,000 top-rated municipal credits would have their ratings cut if the U.S. government loses its Aaa grade, Moody’s Investors Service said.An automatic downgrade affecting $130 billion in municipal debt directly linked to the U.S. would occur if the federal level is reduced, Moody’s said yesterday in a report. Additionally, top-rated securities with no direct links to the national government will be reviewed for similar action.But the nightmare would not end there. The truth is that the credit ratings of large numbers of state and local governments from coast to coast would likely be reviewed and downgraded as well. Right now, many state and local governments are scratching and clawing in a desperate attempt to survive financially, and a significant rise in interest costs would be enough to wipe many of them out.The ripple effects of a U.S. government credit downgrade would be endless.A lot of people argue that if the federal government ran a balanced budget from now on none of this would matter.
Unfortunately, that is not true.At this point, a very high percentage of U.S. government debt is short-term debt. That means that gigantic amounts of debt must be rolled over each year in addition to any new debt that we take on. So even if interest rates rise significantly on just the existing debt that we have it is going to be a total nightmare.And make no mistake, whether it happens now or later a collapse of U.S. government finances is coming.David Murrin, the chief investment officer at Emergent Asset Management,recently told CNBC the following….It’s inevitable that the U.S. will default—it’s essentially an empire which is overextended and in decline—and that its financial system will go with it.Right now it is being projected that the U.S. national debt will hit 344% of GDPby the year 2050 if we continue on our current course. We are on a runaway train that is heading straight for a brick wall.
Europe is also a complete financial wreck. The sovereign debt crisis over in the EU continues to grow worse by the day and there is no end in sight.If the U.S. collapses, Europe is not strong enough to save it. If Europe collapses, the U.S. is not strong enough to save it.We really are entering an unprecedented time in world history. We are on the verge of the first truly global financial disaster.It is going to be interesting to see which major currency crashes and burns first. Some think that it will be the euro. Others think that it will be the dollar.In any event, the reality is that the current global financial system is not sustainable. The folks that are in charge can try to keep things together for as long as possible, but at some point the dominoes are going to start to fall and the house of cards is going to crash.We have entered a time when there is going to be financial crisis after financial crisis. Even if the EU and the U.S. government can somehow fix things for the moment, more problems are going to be just around the corner.The world has become incredibly unstable and the entire globe is going to be shaken. Most people cannot even conceive of the kind of financial hell that is coming our way as a nation.Yes, it can be a bit sad to think about what is happening, but it is much better to be armed with the truth than to be totally clueless and totally unprepared.

Belief in Global Warming at New Low; Gore Launches Re-Education Project Activist Post July 13, 2011
On Monday, UPI announced the findings of a recent Harris poll that revealed a record low amount of people believe the global warming theory. Only 44% of the 2163 people polled say they believe that CO2 is warming the earth:Only 44 percent say they believe the theory that carbon dioxide emissions are warming the Earth, down from 51 percent in 2009 and 71 percent in 2007, but most movement has been into the not sure column.This poll comes just a week after climate scientists admitted that the climate actually cooled over the last decade, which they blamed on sulfur pollution from China’s coal-burning power plants. This led some to suggest that sulfur emissions could be increased to geoengineer the climate to cool it down further.
Coincidentally, today, Al Gore launched his new attempt to re-educate the masses with the Climate Reality Project, which he calls a global campaign to broadcast the reality of the climate crisis. Gore claims that oil and coal companies are deceiving the public and have unlimited resources to sow doubt, but that he has reality on his side.However, it seems his data is a bit dated. Given the new revelations about coal-burning plants actually cooling the planet, you’d think he’d be now supporting them. Furthermore, it has long been known that BP and other oil companies were founding members of the Cap-and-Trade lobby in support of carbon taxes.
His new organization invites people to reject the mistruths they hear every day and discover the truth about climate change for themselves. Notice he doesn’t say seek the truth, but rather discover it — from him.It’d be unfair to completely pick apart his exact words because this organization seems like it was put together in about five minutes, complete with typos in his announcement and a shabby website with one lonly blog post.Yet, the website makes a startling claim, that they know how to save us from global warming. The final sentence of the About Us section reads The climate crisis is real and we know how to solve it.Gore doesn’t give any details as to how he’ll solve the climate crisis. But if the game plan is still the same one he developed with Ken Lay from Enron, then it’ll likely include giving more money to the banking overlords, further manipulating the biosphere, deliberate reduction in the population, and perhaps even starting a nuclear war.In the video below, put together specifically to launch this project, Gore tells the viewer that the climate crisis is not your fault, but we must act together to fix it. A point he reinforces on their website, Climate change is not your fault for the car you drive, the lights you turn on, or the food you eat. The climate crisis is our problem. Exploiting the 9/11 Tenth Anniversary

As the tenth anniversary of 9/11 approaches, the Islamists and their supporters are busy preparing a disinformation campaign to whitewash Sharia law and Islamic ideology under the banner of an operation they call Prepare New York. The intent is to use a front of interfaith alliances with progressive groups to marginalize those who are trying to expose the truth about the Islamist agenda and to exploit the 9/11 anniversary for propaganda purposes.Prepare New York is following the blueprint laid out by the Muslim Brotherhood in its 1982 manifesto entitled Toward a Worldwide Strategy for Islamic Policy, a 12-point strategy to establish an Islamic Power on the earth. To do this, the Muslim Brotherhood set out to channel thought, education and action to influence centers of power both local and worldwide to the service of Islam, and to work within various influential institutions and use them in the service of Islam.In a document entitled the Explanatory Memorandum On the General Strategic Goal for the Group In North America, written in 1987 and published in 1991, authored by the Muslim Brotherhood operative Mohamed Akram, the work of the Muslim Brotherhood and its affiliates in America was described as a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and sabotaging its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and God’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.
The method for eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within would include developing a mastery of the art of coalitions, the art of absorption and the principles of cooperation.One of the first steps for Islamists upon arriving in a non-Muslim country to live is to declare the common bonds between Islam and the more prevalent religions in the host country through bridge-building and interfaith sessions. As they gain more of a foothold, the Islamists become more vocal about the host country’s need to accommodate the special demands of Islamic law, which they couch in human rights terms of free expression of religion, anti-racism and anti-discrimination. They find willing partners among progressive religious groups and opinion leaders to help carry this phony message of tolerance and anti-bigotry.
Prepare New York.Prepare New York is a leading example. It describes itself as a coalition of New York based interfaith organizations who have joined together to help create a city-wide climate that promotes healing and reconciliation in anticipation of the tenth anniversary of 9/11.Their website mentions such Steering Committee Partners as the Interfaith Center of New York, Intersections International, Odyssey Networks, and the Tanenbaum Center.Prepare New York was formed, its website says, in part as a response to the national and international headlines surrounding last summer’s proposed Muslim Community Center in lower Manhattan. The purpose of the coalition is to shift the discussion from one of fear and mistrust targeting any belief or group to one that celebrates New York’s extraordinary diversity of religious freedom and expression.
With such lofty goals and with New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg and an array of prominent progressive Christian and Jewish groups supporting the mission of Prepare New York, how can anyone criticize it? It all sounds so warm and fuzzy until you look behind the facade and examine common threads amongst at least some of the coalition partners and you discover how they are really all about preparing to channel thought, education and action and to work within various influential institutions and use them in the service of Islam.Let’s start with the fact that one of Prepare New York‘s Action Partners is the unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorist financing case, the Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Council for American Islamic Relations.Then there are the connections of various Steering Committee Partners of Prepare New York to the Cordoba Initiative, or the Ground Zero Mosque, and to its founder, Imam Feisal Rauf . Rauf was the imam behind the Ground Zero Mosque project and a co-founder of the American Society for Muslim Advancement , an organization receiving funding from a number of leftist organizations and from foreign nations that are members of the Organization of Islamic Conference and whose objective is to promote a positive image of Islam to the American public.Rauf, who withdrew from direct involvement with the Ground Zero Mosque after a number of his controversial statements came to light, has praised Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, a prominent Muslim scholar and spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood who supports the killing of Jews, the death penalty for apostasy and homosexuality, and the right under Sharia law for Muslim husbands to beat their wives, as a very, very well known Islamic jurist, highly regarded all over the Muslim world.Rauf’s book, What’s Right with Islam Is What’s Right with America, was originally published in 2004 in Malaysia, under a different title: A Call to Prayer from the World Trade Center Rubble: Islamic Dawa in the Heart of America Post-9/11. What’s Right with Islam was an edition of the book published for an American audience and was produced after the original, with Feisal’s cooperation, by the unindicted co-conspirator and Muslim Brotherhood-affiliated Islamic Society of North America.
Intersections International, one of Prepare New York’s steering committee partners, lists Rauf as one of its partners. Intersections International receives funding from Odyssey Networks, another steering committee member, which is also a direct funder of Prepare New York.Odyssey Networks includes as one of its members the American Society for Muslim Advancement and lists as one of its personalities none other than Feisal Rauf. Odyssey Networks features on its site a video in which Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf shares his insights on immigrant rights in the USA in the context of Islam and other religions.It is listed as one of the Cordoba Initiative’s supporting partners. Odyssey Networks’ blog also published scathing criticisms of Congressman Peter King’s congressional hearings into the radicalization of American Muslims.The Interfaith Center of New York, another Prepare New York Steering Committee member which boasts the word interfaith in its title, lists Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf as one of its vice chairs and a donor. It too is listed as a supporting partner of the Cordoba Initiative.One of the key advisory committee partners of the Prepare New York coalition is the Abraham Path Initiative. Contributors to the Abraham Path Initiative include the Saudi Arabian Alwaleed Bin Talal Foundation. On the board of directors of the Abraham Initiative is Amir Mohammed Mahallati, former UN ambassador from Iran who is said to have been one of the early moving forces behind the idea of another downtown mosque in New York. Mahallati also happened to have served on the board of directors of the Interfaith Center of New York where, as already noted, Rauf is one of the vice chairs.The United Nations’ Alliance of Civilizations, which had its roots in the Iranian-driven Dialogue Among Civilizations,conceived by former Iranian President Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Mohammad Khatami, is a partner in the Abraham Path Initiative. It is also a funder of Intersections International, one of the Prepare New York steering committee partners with ties to Imam Rauf’s Cordoba Initiative. And the UN Alliance of Civilizations has partnered with the Cordoba Initiative on a conference organized by Imam Rauf’s American Society for Muslim Advancement .
So far, we have only looked at the common thread amongst many of the key players behind the Prepare New York initiative being planned around the tenth anniversary of 9/11. But this is just the tip of the iceberg. Recall that part of the Muslim Brotherhood ’s grand strategy, in its own words, is to channel thought, education and action and to work within various influential institutions and use them in the service of Islam.This would include working with progressive organizations to the extent they serve the Islamists’ purposes, such as George Soros Open Society Foundation and One Nation, both of which are helping to fund Prepare New York.One Nation is not only helping to fund Prepare New York. It is putting out a totally whitewashed version of Islamic law on its website regarding such core issues as the treatment of women and religious tolerance.The One Nation website falsely claims that the Islamic faith has historically upheld beliefs that respect women and their role in society

When Islam first developed on the Arabian Peninsula 14 centuries ago, women and girls faced oppression in many forms. Women were denied basic human rights… With the introduction of Islam, women in the region gained many rights.As usual, the propagandists who try to make Sharia law look benign rarely if ever deal with what Sharia law actually says, as embodied in the Koran and the recorded sayings and deeds of Mohammed (the Sunna, consisting of the Hadith and the Sira) on which Sharia law is based. The classic Sharia law text, certified as accurate by the greatest Islamic scholars of today, is the Reliance of the Traveller, which contains the Koran and Sunna passages quoted in this article. Whatever One Nation or other Islamist propagandists claim about Islamic law that is inconsistent with these texts is evidence of their blatant deception.As to women, the Koran 4:34 says: Allah has made men superior to women because men spend their wealth to support them. As for women whom you fear will rebel, admonish them first, and then send them to a separate bed, and then beat them.Hadith, Abu Dawud 11:2139-2142 says: The Prophet ( peace be upon him ) said: A man will not be asked as to why he beat his wife.But aren’t these texts so ancient that the respected Muslim scholars of today do not interpret them literally? Since Imam Rauf has claimed that Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, a Muslim scholar and spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood, is a very, very well known Islamic jurist, highly regarded all over the Muslim world, why don’t we see what he has to say about women’s role under Sharia law? This Islamic scholar said: “Because of his natural ability and his responsibility for providing for his family, the man is the head of the house and of the family. He is entitled to the obedience and cooperation of his wife, and accordingly it is not permissible for her to rebel against his authority, causing disruption.If the wife will not obey after the husband has tried to persuade her to end her rebelliousness, said Qaradawi,It is permissible for him to beat her lightly with his hands.Qaradawi does believe in equal rights for women in one sense – to participate in suicide bombings.The One Nation website is also deceiving its readers about religious tolerance under Islamic law

It falsely claims that a central principle of the Islamic faith is respect for all religions, based on the belief that humankind universally worships the same God.Again, the actual text of the Koran and the Sunna, which make up Sharia law, contradicts this lie.For example, the Koran 8:12 says: Then your Lord spoke to His angels and said, I will be with you. Give strength to the believers. I will send terror into the Kafirs’ [unbelievers] hearts, cut off their heads and even the tips of their fingers.Koran 9:29 says: Make war on those who have received the Scriptures [Jews and Christians] but do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day.Koran 33:60 says: They [Kafirs] will be cursed, and wherever they are found, they will be seized and murdered.According to Sahih Muslim, Book 1, number 31001, Mohammed said: I have been ordered to wage war against mankind until they accept that there is no god but Allah and they believe I am His prophet and accept all revelations spoken through me.
Apostasy is punishable by death. From Bukhari 84:57, which like the Koran is part of Sharia law because it reflects the sayings and deeds of Mohammed: [In the words of] Allah’s Apostle, Whoever changed his Islamic religion, then kill him.Again, these are not simply ancient texts that should be taken no more literally than the Old Testament ’s requirement that Jews stone disobedient sons to death, an example cited by the Center for American Progress (which, like One Nation, is spinning for the Islamists). There aren’t any mainstream Jewish scholars who are advocating death to disobedient Jewish sons today. However, the eminent Muslim scholar Sheikh Yusuf Al-Qaradawi has stated his understanding of Islamic law that an apostate is a traitor to his religion and his people and thus deserves killing.Harvard University’s Muslim chaplain agreed with Al-Qaradawi. He advised students asking about the punishment for apostasy in Islam that the preponderant position in all of the 4 sunni madhahib (and apparently others of the remaining eight according to one contemporary alim) is that the verdict is capital punishment. He also told them that debating about religious matter is impermissible, in general.Prepare New York is yet another example of stealth jihad. Its backers, with connections to Imam Rauf and the Cordoba Initiative, are trying to exploit the 9/11 tenth anniversary for their own use in the service of Islam. They must be exposed as the hypocrites and deceivers they truly are.
