A COUP AGAINST PUTIN CALLED OFF QUICK.

HOARDING OF GOLD AND SILVER

JAMES 5:1-3
1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

REVELATION 18:10,17,19
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.(IN 1 HR THE STOCK MARKETS WORLDWIDE WILL CRASH)
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

EZEKIEL 7:19
19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed:(CONFISCATED) their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

REVELATION 13:16-18
16 And he(FALSE POPE) causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:(CHIP IMPLANT)
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.(6-6-6) A NUMBER SYSTEM

REVELATION 16:1-2
1 And I heard a great voice out of the temple saying to the seven angels, Go your ways, and pour out the vials of the wrath of God upon the earth.
2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

I KNOW THIS MARK WILL BE A MICROCHIP IMPLANT UNDER THE SKIN. LETS LOOK UP WHAT THE WORD MARK SAYS IN REVELATION 13:16-18, 14:9,11, 15:2, 16:2, 19:20, 20:4-ALL THESE VERSES FROM THE BOOK OF REVELATION SPEAK OF THIS DICTATORS MARK. Sumsub launches deepfake detection tool, announces pivot to ‘full-cycle verification’Jun 23, 2023, 12:03 pm EDT    | William McCurdy

London-based identity verification firm Sumsub has incorporated enhanced deepfake detection technology into its existing biometric liveness detection solution.Sumsub’s liveness technology looks to detect spoofing attempts during the KYC process, by ensuring users are physically present by collecting their face biometric data and then creating a 3D FaceMap. This is then continuously referenced when authorizing future actions, such as transactions or logins. With the new update, the deepfake fraud detector will integrate directly with Sumsub’s liveness solution. To accompany the move, the company also released a variety of statistics covering the relative prevalence of deepfake fraud worldwide. The research found that in 2022, Spain was by far the global ‘leader’ in deep fake fraud accounting for 49.7 percent of all cases internationally, followed by the UK with 9.3 percent and the U.S. with 4.2 percent. In Q1 2023, the most deep fakes came from Great Britain and Spain which suffered 11.8 percent and 11.2 percent of all global deepfake fraud, respectively. This was followed by Germany and the Netherlands which had 6.7 percent of cases and 4.7 percent of cases respectively. The U.S. held fifth place and had 4.3 percent of global deep fake fraud cases. From 2022 to Q1 2023, the proportion of deepfakes among all fraud types reportedly increased in Canada by 4,500 percent, the U.S. by 1,200 percent, Germany by 407 percent, and the UK by 392 percent.Last quarter, a high proportion of deepfakes out of all fraud types was also noticed in Australia,  Argentina, and China. It’s not just Sumsub that is rolling out new tools to combat the rising threat of deepfake fraud.ElevenLabs earlier this week unveiled a new tool that will allow users to upload any audio sample to identify if it contains audio generated with the company’s AI.The latest move comes after Sumsub recently announced a full-scale pivot of its business offering.Sumsub says it is transforming from a KYC provider to a biometric platform providing “full-cycle verificatio” for the whole user journey. The new platform will combine user and business verification, transaction monitoring, fraud prevention, and case management solutions into a single dashboard, the company says. Some parties have been keen to argue for the potential usefulness of digital identity in potentially preventing this type of generative AI-based fraud.During the recent semi-annual report of the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, the organization’s director Rohit Chopra, answered questions from members of Congress, where the risks of generative AI were highlighted. On the topic, Chopra said: “This identity verification issue, I think if we can solve that as a core part of the infrastructure in our country, we could actually reduce a lot of fraud as well.”He adds that: “The benefits would be big also for market participants.”“You can see in jurisdictions where they have implemented this digital layer they get a lot of benefit from it.”Sumsub has been bulking up its solution offering in 2023. In March 2023, it launched a new Travel Rule solution for compliance in the crypto industry. This new solution was aimed at helping businesses work within the bounds of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Recommendation 16 on wire transfers to virtual assets (VA) such as cryptocurrencies and to Virtual Asset Service Providers (VASPs).

India’s Account Aggregator DPI could promote equitable financial access: World Bank-Jun 23, 2023, 12:12 am EDT    | Bianca Gonzalez

India’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) face a credit gap of between $250 billion and $300 billion. The World Bank says in a blog post that even before the pandemic, 92 percent of small businesses in the nation lacked access to formal credit, but the county is on the right track to address this market barrier.India’s Account Aggregator (AA) architecture is a part of the nation’s Digital Public Infrastructure that can help underserved businesses and individuals access financial institutions, World Bank Consultant Siddharth Dixit writes.India currently uses a data-fiduciary-centric model. This means that individuals or businesses would need to go to the original keeper of their data to gain access, inhibiting the potential for data to be used for financial empowerment. Current financial data storage methods are also inefficient and pose privacy threats. The AA architecture will give individuals complete control over their data by ensuring the electronic transfer of data is standardized format. This also makes it easier to transfer information between institutions. The architecture could have an impact on how financial data is shared comparable to the impact UPIs has had on money transfers.AAs can transform lending by overcoming predominant barriers. The architecture can use data as collateral in cases where potential borrowers would lack physical collateral. It would also standardize and secure data sharing as well as lower costs. While only eight banks were a part of the AA ecosystem when it first launched, today, roughly 200 financial institutions are active. This includes all public and private banks as well as some insurance companies. So far in the 2023 fiscal year, roughly $750 million was dispersed using the AA framework, with 50 percent of lending going to the MSME sector.Originally introduced and made live in 2021, the AA architecture falls under the Data Empowerment and Protection Architecture (DEPA) layer, the third of a three-layered system. UPI was implemented in the nation in 2016, strengthening the second layer, payments. The Aadhaar Digital ID system was introduced in 2010 and provides the foundation for the first layer, identity. The Aadhaar system has reduced the cost of mobile KYC checks from $12 to six cents each, extending banking to millions of Indians, especially low income populations.“They have this foundation with the Aadhaar system that means they can do things that most governments around the world can’t do,” says American Economist Paul Romer in an interview. “Just as India did this for Aadhaar for telephony and electronic authentication I think India could show the world how to do it right.”

Apple expands passkey play, gets patent for Touch ID on desktops-Jun 22, 2023, 5:22 pm EDT    | Jim Nash

It will come as a surprise to very few that Apple continues to play with its identity features in phones and desktops.Protection from data threats (and finding new overseas rocks to hide money under) is where it is at for Apple today.MacRumors is reporting that hardware owners with an Apple ID will be automatically assigned a passkey starting with version 17 of iOS and iPadOS and the Sonoma update of macOS.The addition means Face ID or Touch ID will be the way users log into their Apple ID account. There is a growing list of Apple proprietary services and accounts that require sign-in, and Apple’s move will make that process easier.IT industry stalwart publication Computerworld, says Apple is after workplace business with this move. Specifically, Managed Apple IDs now will support syncing that is similar to what is enabled on mobile devices. Also, it looks like executives noticed how desktop hardware has been forgotten when it comes to Face and Touch ID. They have been granted a U.S. patent for fingerprint biometrics on Macs, according to MacRumors. In fact, the publication notes that this patent is based on original protection awarded in 2008 that showed biometric ID protection for Mac-like hardware. Recognition data listed were eyes, nose, mouth and chin.In the new patent (11676373), Face ID is described as enabling access to email.

More meetings about AI regulation being discussed in US Congress-Jun 22, 2023, 5:18 pm EDT-| Jim Nash

National politicians in the United States have honed the ability to look very busy working on issues they have no ability to or intension of tangibly addressing. Some senators (upper house) and representatives (lower house) say they want to yoke artificial intelligence like a once-ornery plow ox. But commissions and innovation frameworks do not a national strategy make.Still, onward they march to show voters their central importance in regulating AI, which is in the spotlight of popular culture.Democratic Sen. and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer says, “Don’t count Congress out!” in regulating AI so that it is useful and safe. The algorithms are going to be “as transformative as electricity.”Schumer’s most immediate projects are a framework and “an all-hands-on-deck effort in the Senate.”His framework, which providentially can spell out SAFE Innovation for its name, is designed to promote security, accountability, foundational values like democracy, explainability and innovation.Democrats control the Senate, so they stand a chance to coordinate a lot of hand-waving on the topic.Democrats in the Republican-held House, however, will have a much harder time making progress on regulating AI. They are proposing a law that would create a commission to study regulating AI.“Congress must not stay on the sidelines,” Rep. Ted Lieu said in a statement supporting the legislation. These aren’t the first efforts by the federal government to put a rein on AI, but the work to dates has accomplished no substantive rules that can be taken seriously in an archly divided Congress.

Rollout of biometric CAT2s begins in Colorado as legacy scanners reject state IDs-Jun 22, 2023, 12:40 pm EDT-| Chris Burt

The U.S. Transportation Security Administration has installed five of its new credential authentication terminals from Idemia to process travellers with face biometrics at Denver International Airport’s North Security Checkpoint. The test deployment bring TSA’s CAT2 devices to 16 airports in total, an agency spokesperson told local publication Westword in an email.Idemia Identity & Security North America won a $128 million contract with TSA earlier this year to deliver its CAT2 ID document and face biometrics scanners to airports across the country.Westword brings up concerns about the accuracy of facial recognition for people with darker skin and with appearances significantly changed since their ID photos were taken. Those concerns are in part addressed by the testing the Department of Homeland Security’s Science & Technology Directorate has carried out with its Biometric Technology Rally. Idemia I&S was matching 99.7 percent of individuals without masks back in 2021, and some but not all systems tested in the 2022 Rally met the threshold met the benchmark set for all skin tones.A bigger issue for travellers using the automated system may be from Colorado IDs, which are not being accepted by CAT machines, according to The Colorado Sun.Colorado driver’s licenses and other IDs are made by Thales, and travellers recount situations in which they are repeatedly rejected by first-generation CAT scanners at airports other than Denver International. Issues were reported scanning Colorado licenses both at airports within the state and elsewhere in the U.S.The TSA says travellers with a valid boarding pass and driver’s license will not be prevented from passing through the checkpoints. The Colorado Department of Revenue, which is responsible for the state’s IDs, says the problem is not on its end.

As iris biometrics takes on greater prominence, Neurotechnology touts NIST results-Jun 21, 2023, 6:35 pm EDT-| Chris Burt

Iris recognition is taking a more prominent place amongst biometric modalities in recent months, between a series of developments on both the public sector and commercial sides of the market. As the technology and market for it mature, evaluations like one just completed by Neurotechnology go from indications of readiness to important data for decision-makers.Apple’s latest consumer electronics device, the Vision Pro virtual reality headset, uses iris biometrics, adding Optic ID to the company’s established biometrics brands, Touch ID and Face ID.Worldcoin has continued to raise hundreds of millions of dollars in funding for its project combining iris biometrics, digital identity and cryptocurrency.National ID programs like those in Pakistan, Togo and Jordan are building in iris to enable high accuracy identity verification and deduplication at scale. In the Philippines, electoral authority Comelec has begun pushing for iris to be included in voter registration after finding half a million duplicates on its voter rolls. As these and other important programs adopt the modality, the importance of independent testing grows.Neurotechnology scores high marks in NIST evaluation-Neurotechnology recently submitted its latest iris recognition algorithm to the NIST IREX 10 evaluation, scoring single-eye accuracy of 99.14 percent and two-eye accuracy of 99.73 percent. The miss rate for scored by Neurotechnology’s algorithm’s Rank1 results, meaning the top-ranked match is a correct match, are the best result the test has yet recorded, according to the announcement. The company emphasizes the importance of this metric for real-time use cases in law enforcement, civil registration, and visitor management systems. The assessment shows higher accuracy for Neurotechnology’s latest algorithm across all categories, including a false non-identification rate (FNIR) of 0.0107 at false positive identification rate (FPIR) of 0.01 for single-eye matching. For both eyes, FNIR at FPIR 0.01 was 0.0033. These results placed Neurotechnology 5th and 6th, respectively, amongst the 29 algorithms on NIST’s leaderboard as of June, 2023.“We are excited to achieve the top accuracy in NIST’s evaluation categories and are thrilled to see our algorithm’s miss rate almost twice as low as the closest competitor in some assessments,” says Evaldas Borcovas, biometric research lead at Neurotechnology. “I believe this submission to IREX 10 is one extra step toward our goal to develop overall the most accurate iris recognition algorithm.”

CloudWalk joins $421M funding round for chipmaker amid potential AI pivot-Jun 21, 2023, 6:12 pm EDT    | William McCurdy

China-based facial recognition software firm CloudWalk has joined a 3-billion-yuan (US$421 million) series D round for ESWIN Computer, also based in China, which makes Internet of Things chips.CloudWalk, which has been sanctioned by the United States since 2020, has been selling facial recognition software since 2015. The U.S. and other developed economies are punishing CloudWalk for its part in supplying software to Beijing for the oppression of its Muslim Uyghur minority.  The firm’s algorithms continue to show high accuracy in NIST FRVT evaluations. It also has been involved in a controversial initiative to build a database of all Zimbabwean registered voters.ESWIN, which was founded in 2016 and is based in Beijing, is focused on integrated chips, display and video products, AI processing and wireless communication. The company says it will use the new funding for research and development into chips known as RISC-V, according to a report by Deal Street Asia.RISC-V is an open-source chip design standard, a contrast to the proprietary blueprints of manufacturers such as ARM or Intel. The round was co-led by two Chinese state-owned investment groups: Beijing Financial Street Capital Operation Group and Guoxin Venture Capital.Other investors in the round included E-town Capital, GF Qianhe Investment, China Jianyin Investment, Guangzhou Industrial Investment and Capital Operation Holding Group, China Integrated Circuit Industry Investment Fund II and Ceyuan Ventures.CloudWalk may be moving away from its facial recognition-focused business. The company also launched a large AI model in May, GamingDeputy reports. According to a report by Chinese state-owned Yicai Global the model is targeted at specific industries, including finance, gambling and transport. The news follows, and may be motivated by, a disappointing fiscal 2022. CloudWalk reported revenue of 526 million yuan ($76 million) last year, a 51 percent overall decline, as well as  a net loss of 869 million yuan ($121 million). Revenue from AI dropped by 87 percent to CNY2.85 million ($412,000).The company blamed falling revenue on “slower macroeconomic growth, intensified market competition.”

Zwipe prepares for multiple biometric payment card rollouts in Middle East-Jun 21, 2023, 4:15 pm EDT-| William McCurdy

Norwegian firm Zwipe has inked a deal with Middle East Payment Services (MEPS), for the commercial launch of a card based on its biometric Zwipe Pay solution.MEPS, founded in 2009, has a presence in Jordan, Iraq, and Palestine, and offers companies a variety of payments and card-based services. The payment platform is jointly owned by a combination of ten local and regional banks. The rollout will be the first for biometric payment cards to include multiple banks, according to a Zwipe representative.Though the new card will be built on Mastercard’s ecosystem, the Middle Eastern firm acts as an issuer and acquirer for a variety of companies such as Visa, MasterCard, and UnionPay,The company says the latest announcement builds on pilots which have already been conducted between the two firms over the last few months. In addition, digital security firm Inkript is set to launch what it says will be the first commercialized biometric payment card based on Zwipe’s platform. The new card will be available to ‘VIP’ customers of the Kuwait International Bank (KIB), a commercial bank based in Kuwait City. This announcement came during Seamless Middle East 2023, a popular digital commerce event that is hosted annually in DubaiThis isn’t the first time Zwipe and Inkript have collaborated. In May this year, Zwipe announced it would be supplying its biometric Pay card to Taiwanese card maker Beautiful Card Corp. (BCC) for its Mastercard-based line, with the cards also being produced by Inkript. Some sources have predicted that growth is on the horizon for biometric cards. As per Mordor Intelligence, the worldwide market is predicted to hit $2.7 billion by 2027, up from just $15.5 million in 2021, with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 117.76 percent predicted for the forecast period (2022-2027).This expansion might not be coming quickly enough for some, according to Zwipe’s most recent financial statement, growth in the sector “is undeniably slower than” the Norwegian firm would like, as per Zwipe CEO Robert Puskaric. But it’s not just Zwipe expanding its Middle Eastern footprint. In May, Zwipe competitor and sometimes-collaborator Idex Biometrics inked a deal with an unnamed middle eastern card manufacturer for “scaled deployment within their broad global customer portfolio.”Idex says its cards are expected to reach the market in the fourth quarter of 2023.

Japan PM faces resistance to replacement of health insurance cards with digital ID-Jun 23, 2023, 11:37 am EDT-| Alessandro Mascellino

The Japanese government’s troubled My Number digital ID program has done little to quell concerns about incidents of mishandled personal data, particularly those related to disability certificates. The issue has sparked objections over to the planned replacement of health insurance cards next year with My Number IDs. Japanese doctors have taken the government to court to fight the mandatory replacement of health insurance cards, arguing it is expensive to implement.Part of that unease arose when some residents discovered their ID cards linked to unrelated personal information. This has intensified pressure on Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, who has suffered a decline in support according to Reuters. In response to the controversy, Kishida has established a My Number information comprehensive inspection headquarters to examine the program and prevent similar errors.Talking at a press conference Wednesday, the head of state said his government will improve program procedures and operations, including eligibility documentation.Parliament has enacted a law June 2 effectively mandating My Number IDs to access health care as of fall 2024, the Japan Times reports. The IDs are already linked to tax and social security records, as well as some bank accounts.“We will work on the complete abolition of the current health insurance cards on the premise that measures to dispel public anxiety will be completed,” Kishida said.Despite the data security concerns, Kishida’s government has shown no intention of altering the schedule for phasing out health insurance cards.

G7 data protection authorities endorse 3-pillar plan, nod to privacy-enhancing tech-Jun 23, 2023, 1:38 pm EDT-| William McCurdy

The G7 Data Protection and Privacy Authorities (DPAs) have endorsed a plan based on three pillars resulting from a roundtable discussion with the authorities. The regulators met earlier this month in Japan to discuss key privacy and data protection topics. The G7 is an intergovernmental group of officials discussing world economics. Seven large Western nations make up the group. The DPAs are officials from each nation’s data privacy agencies.Their three pillars include developing and implementing the data free flow with trust (DFFT) concept as well as emerging technologies and enhancing enforcement cooperation.According to the World Economic Forum, DFFT is a guiding principle for international cooperation regarding data flows.DFFT has focused on issues like trade agreements, including e-commerce negotiations at the World Trade Organization and regional and bilateral free trade agreements (FTAs).The DPA promised to be “attentive and supportive” of the efforts to develop the DFFT concept. This pillar includes creating a new institutional arrangement for partnership and emphasizes that trust is vital to the flow of data around the globe. The first pillar also promotes a common understanding of the idea and its key components as related to data protection and to assess “common goals to ensure a high level of data protection and privacy.”The second pillar is related to promoting the development and use of emerging technologies in ways that reinforce trust and respect privacy. This is said to include collaborative work and discussions on de-identification, anonymization, pseudonymization and privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) by “fostering a common understanding of key terms and concepts in use across G7 jurisdictions.”According to the United Kingdom’s information commissioner, PETs “are technologies that embody fundamental data protection principles.”This includes minimizing personal information use, maximizing information security or empowering people. Many PETS have direct biometrics and digital identity uses, for example, zero-knowledge proofs, a cryptographic concept that reduces proofing transactions to a simple confirmation or denial without sharing details or user data. This pillar includes creating a terminology reference document outlining key terms and characteristics of important concepts used by G7 DPAs to facilitate collaborative work and discussions and to address relevant international definitions and uses of the terms. The second pillar is also about fueling adoption and development of PETs by developing a use case demonstrating how one specific PET (synthetic data) “can be used to reduce privacy risks while contributing to the public benefit.” This approach will then be expanded to other use cases.According to the UK’s ICO, synthetic data is artificial data created by data synthesis algorithms. This data copies patterns and the statistical properties of real data, such as personal information, and is generated from real data. This means that analysis of synthetic data can produce very similar results to analysis carried out on the original data while minimizing data collection. The second pillar also concerns the Global Privacy Assembly 2022 Resolution on Principles and Expectations for the Appropriate Use of Personal Information in Facial Recognition Technology, which is meant to set global shared principles for facial recognition use by public and private organizations. The pillars also laid out plans to collaborate on the issue of personal data protection within the context of generative AI “from an ethical, legal, social, and technical perspective. The third pillar is related to enforcement cooperation, increasing dialogue among enforcers among the G7 DPAs and the broader data protection and privacy enforcement communityThis would involve sharing domestic and international best practices for effective enforcement collaboration, including successful cooperation cases, and exploring differences in enforcement from perspectives of deterrence, accountability and protection of individuals. The DPAs will report on the progress and achievements of the plan at the 2024 G7 DPA roundtable, to be held in Italy.

WEF publishes report on decentralized ID, warns of biometrics risks-Jun 23, 2023, 10:28 am EDT-| Masha Borak

Roughly 850 million people in the world still do not have an official ID, while some of those that have an ID struggle with a lack of control over privacy and data. Decentralized ID has the promise to deliver digital identity that addresses these issues, but also poses risks and faces challenges, a new report published by the World Economic Forum (WEF) says. The Reimagining Digital ID report lays out a total of 24 recommendations for government officials, regulators and executives, defining risks such as data exploitation, political and technical risks. One of the risks highlighted in the report is the possibility of personal data that is stored centrally being abused for marketing purposes.“Sensitive data, such as biometrics, carry a high risk of exploitation,” says the report. ”This is especially concerning in the case of marginalized communities such as refugees because it can facilitate discriminatory targeting.”The best policy, the report notes, is to not collect highly sensitive data such as ethnic affiliation at all, as these are likely vectors for marginalization or oppression. The technical and policy analysis offers an overview of decentralized ID standards and proposals such as Verifiable Credentials (VCs), decentralized identifiers (DID), zero-knowledge proofs (ZKPs), soulbound tokens (SBTs). It also lists possible reasons why decentralized ID has not yet been widely adopted along with case studies. The report was authored by a group of contributors led by Aiden Slavin, lead of WEF’s Crypto Impact and Sustainability Accelerator. It was supported by a working group chaired by ID2020 Head of Advocacy and Communications, and working group members acknowledged include DIACC’s Joni Brennan, Privacy International Senior Research Officer Tom Fisher and former ID2020 Founder Dakota Gruener, OpenCRVS Director of Product Strategy and Sustainability Edward Duffus, representatives of Accenture and Okta.It comes just three months after WEF’s Digital Identity Initiative discussion on international policy and standards framework that recommended using blockchain technology in building privacy-preserving digital ID infrastructure. This month, the WEF also issued The Global Risk Report 2023 laying out current crises and their potential ramifications. The so-called Insight Report warns about the potential risks of biometric identification technologies to digital privacy.

Financial services customers are warming to biometric authentication and that is pushing growth for vendors.According to new research by Market Research Future, the banking biometric market will reach $18 billion in 2032, growing at a compounded annual rate of 15.8 percent between 2022 and 2032.In 2022, North American accounted for 45.8 percent of the of the global market. In fact, the United States was the biggest market and Canada had the quickest expansion. The researchers expect particularly rapid growth for the Asia-Pacific region from 2023 to 2032 .Here are some of the latest deals that account for the growth.Illuma Labs integrates voice with Glia-Voice authentication firm Illuma Labs is integrating its product with New York-based Glia with the two companies planning voice authentication for banks’ customer service. The plan is to join Illuma’s Shield, the U.S. company’s flagship voice authentication and fraud prevention software, with Glia’s Interaction platform which enables agents to interact with customers through multiple channels, including chat, phone, video and text. The companies say this combination will reduce friction in authentication and enhance security for their customers, which include Evans Bank and the WyHy Federal Credit Union, according to the vendors.Journey.ai lands new customerSecure identity platform firm Journey has announced that community bank Tradition Capital Bank, in the U.S. state of Minnesota, has named the company a trusted vendor. The bank will use Journey’s zero-knowledge ID network, verifying that something is true or accurate without revealing personal data. The software enables financial institutions to biometrically authenticate a customer, lowering fraud risks to privacy, data and transactions. It also gives banks multiple capabilities, such as face and document scanning, on mobile devices, according to the company.BioCatch behavioral biometrics available through Azure-Israel company BioCatch is making its anti-fraud behavioral biometrics available on Microsoft’s Cloud for Financial Services, which helps financial institutions enroll and track clients as well as automate workflow and reduce fraud.BioCatch has been working on financial threats with Microsoft since 2011 but the new relationship means that financial services organizations will be able to buy BioCatch software through Microsoft’s Azure Marketplace. Azure, which analyzes billions of sessions per month, has enhanced risk management and protection, according to BioCatch.Toppan debuts new facial recognition service kiosk-Toppan Gravity has launched a new service kiosk for the banking industry equipped with its proprietary facial recognition software iDenFace. The modular service kiosks were developed in house by IDGate, a Toppan Gravity subsidiary focused on mobile authentication. Toppan Gravity itself is a subsidiary of the Japanese printing and communications conglomerate Toppan Group.Kiosk users can scan their ID documents and record a selfie. IDenFace detects liveness, matching the selfie against the document. One of Toppan Gravity’s first clients is in the Seychelles, where commercial bank Nouvobanq has agreed to put the kiosks in customer areas.

Notarize launches Proof to bind digital signatures to ID with Persona biometrics-Jun 22, 2023, 4:13 pm EDT-| Chris Burt

Online real estate service provider Notarize is introducing a platform for digital signatures compliant with the NIST IAL2 remote identity proofing standard under a new brand. The company has now launched Proof as an identity-assured transaction management platform, with identity binding through Persona’s selfie biometrics.A blog post introducing Proof claims benefits including smart execution of transactions in line with laws, regulatory requirements, and company policies, along with collected evidence that the company says will hold up in court of who has completed the transaction. The platform also provides fraud prevention capabilities, with auditing and certification to the highest degree of identity protection, according to the post.Proof says it is now in the process of earning IAL2 certification from the Kantara Initiative.“Every time you sign on the dotted line, we should be constantly evaluating: ‘is this really you?’,” Notarize and Proof Founder Pat Kinsel writes. “And your identity should be bound to the data with the highest level of cryptography so your signature can’t be forged or tampered with.”Proof binds each user’s identity to their digital signature with identity proofing based on an upload of an ID document and a selfie biometric check, as depicted on the company’s website. Persona is identified as Proof’s biometrics partner in its privacy policy. If the biometric check is not successful, Proof connects the customer with an agent, who acts as a “trusted referee.” The company says the Notarize Network enables face-to-face confirmation within seconds. This binds identity to digital signatures at the level of IAL2, Proof says.Notarize says in its own blog post that it has secured over $185 billion in real estate deals, while helping companies save more than 15,000 hours per years and $110 per transaction.

The case for an integrated digital CRVS system for African countries-Stakeholders discuss initiative in ID4Africa Livecast-Jun 22, 2023, 1:46 pm EDT-| Ayang Macdonald

Speakers during the ID4Africa Livecast on June 21, which was dedicated to summarising key points from some workshops during the movement’s 2023 Augmented general meeting in Nairobi, have made a strong case for African countries to have an integrated and harmonized digital Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) system that will accelerate birth registration on the continent. The virtual event segment made a synopsis of key highlights from discussions at an in-person exchange during one of the workshops during the AGM in Nairobi which focused on exploring ways of developing the African e-CRVS Shared Asset (ACSA).Participants included officials from development partners UNICEF and UNECA, four African governments who shared their country experiences and perspectives, and a representative from OpenCRVS, a standards-based open-source solution for civil registration. The contributions generally recognized the slow nature of birth registration efforts on the continent and the possibility of African countries having a uniform and standardized approach to birth registration digitization through the creation of an integrated CRVS system through which countries will benefit from each other’s experience.Thoughts on CRVS shared asset design, implementationThe exchanges were aimed at providing more clarity in terms of business processes and implementation modalities of the shared asset. One of the UNICEF officials, Fui Meng Liew, said one issue which came out strong during the in-person discussions on the subject was the challenges in birth registration digitization in Africa, especially from the data fragmentation perspective where some governments keep many databases and such data is not easily shared with each other when it comes to birth registration. To change this, she said she believes there is need for certain archaic processes and policies to be updated, including the need for legislation on data privacy and protection.“Our aim was to see how the notion of an African e-CRVS shared asset can be teased out. We shared some of our ideas and experiences about the need to have core design principles, whether it is for design for scale to make sure that systems are interoperable, adopting open standards for data sharing, protecting privacy and securing the users, and making sure that there is inclusion in the e-CRVS system. Without users coming along, the asset would not be successful if we have to start this journey,” said Liew.Liew’s colleague at UNICEF, Bhaskar Mishra, said the idea of developing a digital CRVS shared asset has been well-received by African counties.“The concept was well received. You know that the idea of developing a shared asset is not new. It is part of the African Union’s Agenda 2063 which talks about where Africa wants to be by that year. It is in line with some of the aspirations and recommendations of the conference of ministers of Africa in charge of civil registration,” said Mishra. He added that the African Union, UNECA, and UN Legal Identity have each called for a uniform and standard approach to digitization of CRVS systems and have also emphasised the need for South-South cooperation, which favours learning from one another.Mishra also corroborated Liew on the need to pay attention to core design principles in making the shared asset project work. Core design principles, technological and non-technological solutions and a digital CRVS solution or ‘stack’ are the crux of the shared asset, he said, adding that it is also important to “follow a consortium approach, to take advantage of the features of open source, proprietary and home-grown solutions and offer it to countries for free.”Another important issue, according to Mishra, is to establish an advisory body that will provide technical and oversight support to the shared asset implementation process.Edward Duffus of OpenCRVS explained the import of a digital CRVS system as a digital public infrastructure. “A digital civil registration system is a critical part of digital public infrastructure. It is an enabler of the foundational identity ecosystem,” he noted. He said the huge interest notwithstanding, there are a lot of issues to figure out. “The essence of creating a common asset also requires a degree of harmonization. We know that a lot of countries have their own specific laws, processes, and systems. Thus, this will need a significant amount of will power and vision across Africa to get this moving.”He mentioned reusable standards, best practices, technology components and the need to deal with data fragmentation by ensuring the protection of personal data in a highly secure way, and making a shared asset system implementation and maintenance easy.Chiming in to the discussion, a former UNICEF director of child protection, Cornelius Williams, said to successfully build such an asset, sufficient financial resources and technical skills are needed and countries must step up and show leadership and agility by parting ways with some of their bureaucratic policies which have given rise to structural failures.A UNECA official, William Muhwava, reiterated the position of African Ministers in charge of civil registration during a meeting in Mauritania where they recommended the putting in place of a common ICT system, with the highest standard of data protection and confidentiality, that will promote interoperability among civil registration, health, and identity management systems to meet the needs of all African countries. He remarked that a study carried out by UNECA revealed that national ID systems in some countries are stronger than civil registration systems which is something to worry about given that ID systems cannot work properly without strong foundations. The official also raised the question of who will coordinate the shared asset implementation drive. “If we are going into a common asset, then that’s one thing we have to look at. Who is going to coordinate? Who is going to provide the leadership?” he questioned rhetorically. In any case, he stated that African counties looking forward to such a system have to think about how to build the right standards and set a platform of strong leadership and collaboration.African countries welcome initiative-Representatives from ID and civil registration authorities of the four African countries, namely Rosemary Kisembo from Uganda; Togbe Agbagla from Togo; Tulimeke Munyika from Namibia and Djenabou Camara from Guinea, each took the floor to share their country experiences, expectations and perspectives on the proposed digital CRVS shared asset for Africa. All four were unanimous that the digital CRVS shared asset is a welcome idea that will help streamline civil registration on the continent, although they made divergent proposals on how they think the ACSA system can get running.“Yes, we need this shared digital CRVS system. There are 54 countries in Africa. There are things that we share without doubt. We also need to identity what our common goal is with such a system,” said Kisembo as she shared her take on some of the things that can easily be agreed upon by African governments when it comes to designing such an integrated system.Agbagla from Togo talked about the need to develop a common toolkit that would act as a guide, while Munyika from Namibia emphasized the need for countries to create a stage where nations which are far ahead in their CRVS pursuits can share their experiences with the others and carry them along.

Morocco will introduce digital IDs into health services-Jun 22, 2023, 1:21 pm EDT-| Masha Borak

Moroccans will soon be able to use their digital identity for accessing health services after government representatives signed an agreement that allows hospitals and other medical institutions to verify the identity of patients through the scheme. The deal was signed last Friday between the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, the National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection (CNDP) and the General Directorate for National Security, Middle East Online reports.Moroccan citizens can choose to include some of their health data in the electronic chip of the national identity card, including patient number, social protection number and other health data.In April, the digital ID system was also introduced into the financial court system of Morocco. The country’s eID system was launched in 2019 by the Digital Development Agency (ADD) and the Directorate of National Security (DGSN) on a platform provided by Idemia. The MOSIP-based digital ID system was introduced to the wider public last year during ID4Africa.

11  And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
12  To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.
13  Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?(OIL IS IN SPOIL-I BELIEVE THATS WHY RUSSIA,ARAB/MUSLIMS MARCH TO ISRAEL)
14  Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know it?
15  And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:
16  And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.
17  Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
18  And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.
19  For in my jealousy and in the fire (atomic bomb) of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;
20  So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
21  And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.
22  And I will plead against him with pestilence (biological, chemical, nuclear) and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.(NUKED,THEN MIGRATING BIRDS EAT RUSSIA/ARAB/MUSLIMS FLESH)
23  Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.

EZEKIEL 39:1-29
1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:
2  And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee,(300 MILIION RUSSIA-ARAB-MUSLIMS GET NUKED BY ISRAEL) and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
3  And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
4  Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou,(RUSSIA) and all thy bands,(RUSSIA SUPPORTED WITH WEAPONS-ARAB/MUSLIM COUNTRIES) and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
5  Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
6  And I will send a fire (ATOMIC BOMB) on Magog, and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
7  So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
8  Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.
9  And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:
10  So that they shall take no wood out of the field, neither cut down any out of the forests; for they shall burn the weapons with fire: and they shall spoil those that spoiled them, and rob those that robbed them, saith the Lord GOD.
11  And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will give unto Gog a place there of graves in Israel, the valley of the passengers on the east of the sea: and it shall stop the noses of the passengers: and there shall they bury Gog and all his multitude: and they shall call it The valley of Hamongog.
12  And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land.
13  Yea, all the people of the land shall bury them; and it shall be to them a renown the day that I shall be glorified, saith the Lord GOD.
14  And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.
15  And the passengers that pass through the land, when any seeth a man’s bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamongog.
16  And also the name of the city shall be Hamonah. Thus shall they cleanse the land.
17  And, thou son of man, thus saith the Lord GOD; Speak unto every feathered fowl, and to every beast of the field, Assemble yourselves, and come; gather yourselves on every side to my sacrifice that I do sacrifice for you, even a great sacrifice upon the mountains of Israel, that ye may eat flesh, and drink blood.
18  Ye shall eat the flesh of the mighty, and drink the blood of the princes of the earth, of rams, of lambs, and of goats, of bullocks, all of them fatlings of Bashan.
19  And ye shall eat fat till ye be full, and drink blood till ye be drunken, of my sacrifice which I have sacrificed for you.
20  Thus ye shall be filled at my table with horses and chariots, with mighty men, and with all men of war, saith the Lord GOD.
21  And I will set my glory among the heathen, and all the heathen shall see my judgment that I have executed, and my hand that I have laid upon them.
22  So the house of Israel shall know that I am the LORD their God from that day and forward.
23  And the heathen shall know that the house of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, therefore hid I my face from them, and gave them into the hand of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword.
24  According to their uncleanness and according to their transgressions have I done unto them, and hid my face from them.
25  Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Now will I bring again the captivity of Jacob, and have mercy upon the whole house of Israel, and will be jealous for my holy name;
26  After that they have borne their shame, and all their trespasses whereby they have trespassed against me, when they dwelt safely in their land, and none made them afraid.
27  When I have brought them again from the people, and gathered them out of their enemies’ lands, and am sanctified in them in the sight of many nations;
28  Then shall they know that I am the LORD their God, which caused them to be led into captivity among the heathen: but I have gathered them unto their own land, and have left none of them any more there.
29  Neither will I hide my face any more from them: for I have poured out my spirit upon the house of Israel, saith the Lord GOD.

Wagner chief says his forces halting advance toward Moscow to avoid bloodshed-JUN 24,23

The head of the Wagner force says he has ordered his mercenaries to halt their march on Moscow and retreat to their field camps in Ukraine to avoid shedding Russian blood. The announcement from Yevgeny Prigozhin appears to defuse a growing crisis. Moscow had braced for the arrival of the private army led by the rebellious commander. And Russian President Vladimir Putin had vowed he would face harsh consequences.Prigozhin says that while his men are just 200 kilometers (120 miles) from Moscow, he decided to turn them back to avoid “shedding Russian blood.”He doesn’t say whether the Kremlin has responded to his demand to oust Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. There is no immediate comment from the Kremlin. The announcement follows a statement from the office of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko saying that he had negotiated a deal with Prigozhin after previously discussing the issue with Putin.Prigozhin has accepted Lukashenko’s offer to halt the Wagner group’s advance and further steps to de-escalate the tensions, Lukashenko’s office said, adding that the proposed settlement contains security guarantees for Wagner troops. It didn’t elaborate.

Israel issues advisory warning against travel to Russia as mercenary group rebels-PM, diplomats to discuss developments as Putin regime faces internal challenge by Wagner Group-By ToI Staff and Agencies -JUN 24,23-Today, 8:18 pm

The Foreign Ministry issued a travel advisory against travel to Russia Saturday evening, as Vladimir Putin’s regime faced a mutiny by the mercenary Wagner Group.A ministry notice advised Israelis “to weigh the necessity” of traveling to Russia and urged those in the country “to weigh the essentiality” of remaining in the country. It also called on those in Russia to avoid “hotspots.”Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the Foreign Ministry and the National Security Council were set to hold meetings Saturday evening on developments in Russia.Channel 12 news noted that issuing the travel advisory was sensitive for Jerusalem, which has sought to navigate between the desire to offer some support for Ukraine amid the ongoing Russian invasion while maintaining ties with Moscow.Israel’s need to carry out airstrikes on Iranian-linked targets in neighboring Syria, where there is a Russian military presence, and the need to protect the large Jewish community in Russia, have been cited as the primary reasons for the Israeli stance on the fighting in Ukraine.A number of Hebrew media outlets reported that the Foreign Ministry was planning to send additional consul officials to Moscow and St. Petersburg in the coming days due to an expected rise in requests for travel documents.Citing Foreign Ministry estimates, the reports said some 70,000 Israeli citizens are believed to currently be in Russia, along with some 500,000 Jews and those eligible to immigrate to Israel.Rebel mercenaries advanced north towards Moscow after seizing a key military base Saturday, just as Kremlin chief Putin vowed to defeat the revolt and head off the threat of civil war.The rapidly escalating events mark the most serious challenge yet to the Russian president’s rule — and Russia’s most serious security crisis since the strongman came to power in late 1999.Putin’s spokesman insisted the Russian leader was still at work in the Kremlin and had not fled Moscow, as regular forces launched a “counter-terrorist operation” to halt the rebel advance in the Voronezh region, on the Wagner force’s route to the capital. The governor of the Lipetsk region, whose capital is just 420 kilometers (260 miles) south of Moscow, said Wagner’s private military force was “moving across” the territory and urged civilians not to leave their homes. In the capital, the mayor urged Muscovites to stay indoors and declared Monday a day off work.“The situation is difficult. I ask you to refrain from traveling around the city as much as possible,” Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said in a statement, warning of possible road closures. The person recording this video comments the Wagner PMC convoy keeps moving like this past her for more than 30 minutes already. Without a single shot we captured the HQ building,” he said, in an audio message on social media channels, claiming that local civilians had welcomed the operation.“Why does the country support us? Because we went on a march of justice,” he said, claiming his men had not killed any soldiers despite having been hit with strikes from army “artillery and after that from helicopters.”Responding to the challenge in a televised address, Putin accused Prigozhin — whose private army provided shock troops for Moscow’s offensive in Ukraine — of a “stab in the back” that posed a threat to Russia’s very survival.

Head of US military cancels trip to Israel amid Russia crisis-General Mark Milley puts of Middle East plans, shortly before Wagner Group announces it is halting its advance on Moscow-By Agencies Today,JUN 24,23- 9:38 pm

The top military officer in the United States canceled a trip to the Middle East on Saturday as the crisis in Russia intensified, a spokesman said.Army General Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, had been due to travel to Israel and Jordan. That trip was postponed “due to the situation in Russia,” a spokesman for the Joint Chiefs told AFP.Jake Sullivan, US President Joe Biden’s national security advisor, also canceled a trip Saturday, instead accompanying the president to Camp David. Sullivan had been scheduled to attend a conference on Ukraine in Denmark.Milley had been due to leave for the Middle East on Saturday.Shortly after Milley’s trip was canceled, Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin ordered his troops to halt their advance and return to their bases. It was not immediately clear whether this would affect the decision. In Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin faced the biggest threat to his rule yet when rebel mercenaries advanced toward the Russian capital after seizing a key military base. But by evening, Prigozhin said he had ordered his mercenaries to halt their march on Moscow and retreat to their field camps in Ukraine to avoid shedding Russian blood.Moscow had braced for the arrival of a private army led by the rebellious mercenary commander by erecting checkpoints with armored vehicles and troops on its southern edge. Red Square was shut down, and the mayor urged motorists to stay off some roads.Prigozhin said that while his men were just 200 kilometers (120 miles) from Moscow, he decided to turn them back to avoid “shedding Russian blood.”

Putin vows to crush ‘treason’ as rebel Wagner leader takes Russian city, eyes Moscow-Russian president urges unity, calls move by mercenary force a ‘stab in the back’ to Russia; Prigozhin seizes military HQ handling fighting in Ukraine, sends convoy toward capital-By Agencies,JUN 24,23-Today, 11:32 am

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday vowed to defend the country from an armed rebellion declared by mercenary chief Yevgeny Prigozhin, which Putin called a”deadly threat” and “stab in the back” to Russia.“All those who prepared the rebellion will suffer inevitable punishment. The armed forces and other government agencies have received the necessary orders,” Putin said in a televised address to the nation.Prigozhin, the owner of the Wagner private military contractor, confirmed Saturday morning that he and his troops reached a key Russian city after crossing the border from Ukraine. Later Saturday, a 5,000-strong Wagner convoy was reported heading toward Moscow.Prigozhin posted a video of himself in Rostov-on-Don at the Russian military headquarters that oversees the fighting in Ukraine. He claimed that his forces had military facilities in the city under their control, including the airfield. Other videos posted on social media showed military vehicles, including tanks, on the streets outside.Putin condemned the rebellion at a time when Russia was “fighting the toughest battle for its future” with its war in Ukraine. “The entire military, economic and information machine of the West is waged against us,” Putin said. In a recorded address, Russian President Vladimir Putin says the Wagner group rebellion is a 'criminal campaign' and an 'equivalent to armed mutiny'. Read more: https://t.co/1orZVTlEif pic.twitter.com/K7NT4cZeAr — Sky News (@SkyNews) June 24, 2023-He called the rebellion a “deadly threat” to Russia and urged the country to unite.“Any internal turmoil is a deadly threat to our statehood and to us as a nation. This is a blow to Russia and to our people,” Putin said. “This battle, when the fate of our people is being decided, requires the unification of all forces and unity.”“Extravagant ambitions and personal interests led to treason,” Putin said, referring to Prigozhin, who built his powerbase as a catering contractor to the Kremlin and now runs a private military force.“All those who consciously stood on the path of betrayal, who prepared an armed rebellion, stood on the path of blackmail and terrorist methods, will suffer inevitable punishment, before the law and before our people,” Putin vowed. He also acknowledged a “difficult” situation was unfolding in Rostov-on-Don.“There will be decisive measures taken on stabilizing the situation in Rostov-on-Don,” Putin said.”It remains difficult and the work of civil and military authorities in fact is being blocked.”Prigozhin called himself a patriot.“Regarding the betrayal of the motherland, the president was deeply mistaken. We are patriots of our homeland,” he said in an audio message on his Telegram channel. He said his fighters would not turn themselves in at the request of Putin, as “we do not want the country to live on in corruption, deceit and bureaucracy.”Prigozhin’s Wagner private military contractor has been fighting alongside Russian troops in Ukraine. It wasn’t immediately clear what his aims were, but the rebellion marks an escalation in Prigozhin’s struggle with Russian military leaders, who he has accused of botching the war in Ukraine and hamstringing his forces in the field.“This is not a military coup, but a march of justice,” Prigozhin said.Prigozhin earlier said his forces faced no resistance from young conscripts at checkpoints as they crossed into Russia from Ukraine, saying his troops “aren’t fighting against children.”“But we will destroy anyone who stands in our way,” he said in one of a series of angry video and audio recordings posted on social media beginning late Friday. “We are moving forward and will go until the end.”Further north, on Wagner’s possible route towards Moscow, the governor of Russia’s Voronezh region said the armed forces had launched a “counter-terrorist operation” to suppress the revolt. A fuel depot on Voronezh city was on fire, he said.Russia’s security services had responded to Prigozhin’s declaration of an armed rebellion by calling for his arrest. In a sign of how seriously the Kremlin took the threat, authorities declared a “counterterrorist regime” in Moscow and its surroundings, allowing restricted freedoms and enhancing security in the capital. It was not immediately clear how Prigozhin was able to enter the southern Russian city or how many troops he had with him.Prigozhin alleged that Wagner field camps in Ukraine were struck by rockets, helicopter gunships and artillery fire on orders from the chief of the General Staff, Gen. Valery Gerasimov, following a meeting in Rostov with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at which they decided to destroy Wagner. He also said his forces shot down a Russian military helicopter that fired on a civilian convoy, but there was no independent confirmation.Prigozhin said he had 25,000 troops under his command and would punish Shoigu in an armed rebellion, and urged the army not to offer resistance: “This is not a military coup, but a march of justice.”While the outcome of the confrontation was still unclear, it appeared likely to further hinder Moscow’s war effort as Kyiv’s forces were probing Russian defenses in the initial stages of a counteroffensive. The dispute, especially if Prigozhin were to prevail, also could have repercussions for Putin and his ability to maintain a united front. The Wagner forces have played a crucial role in Russia’s war in Ukraine, succeeding in taking the city where the bloodiest and longest battles have taken place, Bakhmut. But Prigozhin has increasingly criticized Russia’s military brass, accusing it of incompetence and of starving his troops of weapons and ammunition. ???? Wagner PMC tanks have surrounded the Defence Ministry building in Rostov-on-Don pic.twitter.com/EgcFPbjDi5 — Igor Sushko (@igorsushko) June 24, 2023-On Friday, the National Anti-Terrorism Committee, which is part of the Federal Security Service, or FSB, charged Prigozhin with calling for an armed rebellion, punishable by up to 20 years in prison. The FSB urged Wagner’s contract soldiers to arrest Prigozhin and refuse to follow his “criminal and treacherous orders.” It called his statements a “stab in the back to Russian troops” and said they amounted to fomenting armed conflict.Heavy military trucks and armored vehicles were seen in several parts of central Moscow early Saturday, and soldiers toting assault rifles were deployed outside the main building of the Defense Ministry. The area around the presidential administration near Red Square was blocked, snarling traffic. But even with the heightened military presence, downtown bars and restaurants were filled with customers. At one club near the headquarters of the FSB, people were dancing in the street near the entrance.Prigozhin, whose feud with the Defense Ministry dates back years, had refused to comply with a requirement that military contractors sign contracts with the ministry before July 1. In a statement late Friday, he said he was ready to find a compromise but “they have treacherously cheated us.”“Today they carried out a rocket strike on our rear camps, and a huge number of our comrades got killed,” Prigozhin said. The Defense Ministry denied attacking the Wagner camps.“The evil embodied by the country’s military leadership must be stopped,” he shouted.Col. Gen. Sergei Surovikin, the deputy commander of the Russian group of forces fighting in Ukraine, urged the Wagner forces to stop any move against the army, saying it would play into the hands of Russia’s enemies, who are “waiting to see the exacerbation of our domestic political situation.”Tatiana Stanovaya, a political analyst, predicted this would be the end of Prigozhin.“Now that the state has actively engaged, there’s no turning back,” she tweeted. “The termination of Prigozhin and Wagner is imminent. The only possibility now is absolute obliteration, with the degree of resistance from the Wagner group being the only variable. Surovikin was dispatched to convince them to surrender. Confrontation seems totally futile.”Lt. Gen. Vladimir Alexeyev, a top military officer, denounced Prigozhin’s move as “madness” that threatens civil war.“It’s a stab in the back to the country and the president… Such a provocation could only be staged by enemies of Russia,” he said. The Defense Ministry said in a statement that Ukraine was concentrating troops for an attack around Bakhmut to take advantage of “Prigozhin’s provocation.” It said Russian artillery and warplanes were firing on Ukrainian forces as they prepared an offensive. In Washington, the Institute for the Study of War said “the violent overthrow of Putin loyalists like Shoigu and Gerasimov would cause irreparable damage to the stability of Putin’s perceived hold on power.”At the White House, National Security Council spokesperson Adam Hodge said: “We are monitoring the situation and will be consulting with allies and partners on these developments.”In Kyiv, a Russian missile attack killed at least two people and injured eight Saturday when falling debris caused a fire on several floors of a 24-story apartment building in a central district, Serhii Popko, the head of the city’s military administration posted on Telegram. He said more than 20 missiles were detected and destroyed. The head of the Russian mercenary group Wagner vowed Saturday to take all necessary steps to topple the country’s military leadership in Moscow, saying his forces would “destroy everything” in their way.“We are going onwards and we will go to the end,” Yevgeny Prigozhin said in a new audio message after vowing to sideline Russia’s military leadership. He said his forces had entered the southern Russian region of Rostov but did not provide any proof and AFP could not independently verify his claims. There was also no confirmation of that yet on Russian social networks. Videos showed heavy trucks blocking highways leading to the city, long convoys of National Guard trucks were seen on a road outside Rostov and armored vehicles were roaming the streets.“We will destroy everything that stands in our way,” Prigozhin warned in one of the recordings.Prigozhin, who has for months been mired in a feud with the defense ministry, on Friday accused Moscow of targeting his forces with deadly missile strikes and vowed to retaliate. He urged Russians to join his forces and punish Moscow’s military leadership in the most audacious challenge to President Vladimir Putin since the start of the offensive in Ukraine last year.Prigozhin claimed early Saturday that his forces had crossed from Ukraine and had reached Rostov, saying they faced no resistance from young conscripts at checkpoints and that his forces “aren’t fighting against children.”“But we will destroy anyone who stands in our way,” he said in one of a series of angry video and audio recordings posted on social media beginning late Friday. He claimed that the chief of the General Staff, Gen. Valery Gerasimov, scrambled warplanes to strike Wagner’s convoys, which were driving alongside ordinary vehicles. Prigozhin also said his forces shot down a Russian military helicopter that fired on a civilian convoy, but there was no independent confirmation.Prigozhin said Wagner field camps in Ukraine were struck by rockets, helicopter gunships and artillery fire on orders from Gerasimov following a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, at which they decided to destroy Wagner. The Wagner forces have played a crucial role in Russia’s war in Ukraine, succeeding in taking the city where the bloodiest and longest battles have taken place, Bakhmut. But Prigozhin has increasingly criticized Russia’s military brass, accusing it of incompetence and of starving his troops of weapons and ammunition.Prigozhin, who said he had 25,000 troops under his command, said late Friday his troops would punish Shoigu in an armed rebellion and urged the army not to offer resistance. “This is not a military coup, but a march of justice,” Prigozhin declared. The National Anti-Terrorism Committee, which is part of the Federal Security Services, or FSB, has charged him with calling for an armed rebellion, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison. The FSB urged Wagner’s contract soldiers to arrest Prigozhin and refuse to follow his “criminal and treacherous orders.” It called his statements a “stab in the back to Russian troops” and said they amounted to fomenting an armed conflict in Russia.President Vladimir Putin has been informed about the situation and “all the necessary measures were being taken,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.Heavy military trucks and armored vehicles were seen in several parts of central Moscow early Saturday, and soldiers toting assault rifles were deployed outside the main building of the Defense Ministry. The area around the presidential administration near Red Square was blocked, snarling traffic. But even amid the heightened military presence, downtown bars and restaurants were filled with customers. At one club near the headquarters of the FSB, people were dancing in the street near the entrance.Prigozhin, whose feud with the Defense Ministry dates back years, had refused to comply with a requirement that military contractors sign contracts with the ministry before July 1. In a statement late Friday, he said he was ready to find a compromise but “they have treacherously cheated us.”“Today they carried out a rocket strike on our rear camps, and a huge number of our comrades got killed,” he said. The Defense Ministry denied attacking the Wagner camps.Prigozhin claimed that Shoigu went to the Russian military headquarters in Rostov personally to direct the strike and then “cowardly” fled.“This scum will be stopped,” he said of Shoigu.“The evil embodied by the country’s military leadership must be stopped,” he shouted, urging the army not to offer any resistance to Wagner as it moves to “restore justice.”Col. Gen. Vladimir Alexeyev, a top military officer, denounced Prigozhin’s move as “madness” that threatened to unleash a civil war.“It’s a stab in the back to the country and the president,” he said. “It’s impossible to imagine a stronger blow to the image of Russia and its armed forces. Such a provocation could only be staged by enemies of Russia.”The Defense Ministry said in a statement that Ukraine’s military was concentrating troops to launch an attack around Bakhmut to take advantage of “Prigozhin’s provocation.” It said Russian artillery and warplanes were firing on Ukrainian forces as they prepared to start an offensive in the area.In Washington, a spokesman for the National Security Council, Adam Hodge, said: “We are monitoring the situation and will be consulting with allies and partners on these developments.”In other developments in the Ukraine war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on other countries to heed warnings that Russia may be planning to attack an occupied nuclear power plant to cause a radiation disaster.Members of his government briefed international representatives on the possible threat to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, whose six reactors have been shut down for months. Zelensky said he expected other nations to “give appropriate signals and exert pressure” on Moscow. The Kremlin’s spokesman has denied the threat to the plant is coming from Russian forces.

Kremlin orders arrest of Wagner leader after he calls to oust Russian defense chief-Notorious head of mercenary group Yevgeny Prigozhin posts angry videos accusing Sergei Shoigu of ordering rocket strike on Wagner’s field camps in Ukraine, urges armed rebellion-By AP-JUN 24,23-Today, 2:29 am

The owner of the Wagner private military contractor escalated his direct challenge to the Kremlin on Friday, calling for an armed rebellion aimed at ousting Russia’s defense minister. The security services reacted immediately by opening a criminal investigation into Yevgeny Prigozhin and calling for his arrest.Prigozhin posted a series of angry video and audio recordings in which he accused Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu of ordering a rocket strike Friday on Wagner’s field camps in Ukraine, where his troops are fighting on behalf of Russia.Prigozhin said his troops would now punish Shoigu in an armed rebellion and urged the army not to offer resistance. “This is not a military coup, but a march of justice,” Prigozhin declared. The National Anti-Terrorism Committee, which is part of the Federal Security Services, or FSB, said he would be investigated on charges of calling for an armed rebellion. The FSB urged Wagner’s contract soldiers to arrest Prigozhin and refuse to follow his “criminal and treacherous orders.” It called his statements a “stab in the back to Russian troops” and said they amounted to fomenting an armed conflict in Russia.Prigozhin has often been with his troops near the frontline in Ukraine, but his whereabouts on Friday were unclear. In a sign of how seriously the Kremlin was taking the threat, riot police and the National Guard have been scrambled to tighten security at key facilities in Moscow, including government agencies and transport infrastructure, the state news agency Tass reported.Russia’s chief prosecutor said the criminal investigation was justified and that an armed rebellion charge carries a penalty of up to 20 years imprisonment.Russian generals accused Prigozhin late on Friday of attempting a coup against Russian President Vladimir Putin, The New York Times reported.Putin has been informed about the situation and “all the necessary measures were being taken, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.Wagner’s forces have played a crucial role in Russia’s war in Ukraine, succeeding in taking the city where the bloodiest and longest battles have taken place, Bakhmut. Prigozhin has frequently criticized Russia’s military brass, accusing it of incompetence and of starving his troops of weapons and ammunition, but his accusations and calls for armed rebellion Friday were a more direct challenge. The Russian Defense Ministry required all military contractors to sign contracts with it before July 1, but Prigozhin, whose feud with the Defense Ministry dates back years, refused to comply. In a statement issued late Friday, he said he was ready to find a compromise with the Defense Ministry, but “they have treacherously cheated us.”“Today they carried out a rocket strike on our rear camps, and a huge number of our comrades got killed,” he said. The Defense Ministry denied attacking the Wagner camps.Prigozhin claimed that Shoigu went to the Russian military headquarters in the southern city of Rostov-on-Don personally to direct the strike on Wagner and then “cowardly” fled.“This scum will be stopped,” he said, in a reference to Shoigu.“The evil embodied by the country’s military leadership must be stopped,” he shouted, urging the army not to offer any resistance to Wagner as it moves to “restore justice.”Security also was heightened in Rostov-on-Don, Tass reported. Its correspondent said military and law enforcement personnel were seen on the streets, with at least one armored personnel carrier and aerial patrols.Col. Gen. Sergei Surovikin, the deputy commander of the Russian group of forces fighting in Ukraine, urged the Wagner forces to stop any move against the army, saying it would play into the hands of Russia’s enemies, who are “waiting to see the exacerbation of our domestic political situation.”Another top military officer, Lt. Gen. Vladimir Alexeyev, denounced Prigozhin’s move as “madness” and threatened to unleash a civil war in Russia.“It’s a stab in the back to the country and the president,” he said. “It’s impossible to imagine a stronger blow to the image of Russia and its armed forces. Such a provocation could only be staged by enemies of Russia.”The Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement that the Ukrainian military was concentrating troops to launch an attack around Bakhmut to take advantage of “Prigozhin’s provocation.” It said Russian artillery and warplanes were firing on Ukrainian forces as they prepared to start an offensive in the area.In other developments in the Ukraine, war, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on other countries to heed warnings that Russia may be planning to attack an occupied nuclear power plant to cause a radiation disaster.Members of his government briefed international representatives on the possible threat to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, whose six reactors have been shut down for months.Zelensky said he expected other nations to “give appropriate signals and exert pressure” on Moscow. The Kremlin’s spokesman has denied the threat to the plant is coming from Russian forces. The potential for a life-threatening release of radiation has been a concern since Russian troops invaded Ukraine last year and seized the plant, Europe’s largest nuclear power station. The head of the UN’s atomic energy agency spent months trying to negotiate the establishment of a safety perimeter to protect the facility as nearby areas came under repeated shelling, but he has been unsuccessful. The International Atomic Energy Agency noted Thursday that “the military situation has become increasingly tense” while a Ukrainian counteroffensive that got underway this month unfolds in Zaporizhzhia province, where the namesake plant is located, and in an adjacent part of Donetsk province.Although the last of the plant’s six reactors was shut down last fall to reduce the risk of a meltdown, experts have warned that a radiation release could still happen if the system that keeps the reactors’ cores and spent nuclear fuel cool loses power or water.During months of fighting, Russia and Ukraine have traded blame over which side was increasing the threat to the plant. On Friday, IAEA Director-General Rafael Mariano Grossi met with the head of Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom in the Kaliningrad exclave of Russia to discuss the conditions at the plant. Rosatom director Alexey Likachev and other officials “emphasized that they now expect specific steps” from the UN agency to prevent Ukrainian attacks on the plant and its adjacent territory, said a statement from the Russian corporation, whose divisions build and operate nuclear power plants.Earlier this week, Ukrainian officials accused Russia of mining the plant’s cooling system, already under threat from a dam collapse earlier this week that drew down water in a reservoir that the power station uses.Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar said Friday that Russia has beefed up its defense forces in southern Ukraine in response to the early counteroffensive and intensified its efforts to take more ground in the east. Asked if the Ukrainian military’s initial attacks set the stage for a larger assault, Maliar told Ukrainian television: “We are yet to see the main events, and the main blow. And indeed, a part of reserves will be used later.”Ukrainian forces so far have made only incremental gains in Zaporizhzhia province, one of four regions that Putin illegally annexed last year. Putin has pledged to defend the regions as Russian territory.Zelensky has said that Ukraine is fighting to force Russian troops out of those regions, as well as the Crimean Peninsula, which Moscow illegally annexed in 2014 and is using as a staging and supply route in the 16-month-old war. If the counteroffensive breaks the Russian defenses in the south, Ukrainian forces could attempt to reach a pair of occupied port cities on the Sea of Azov and break Russia’s land bridge to Crimea.Times of Israel staff contributed to this report.

20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
23 And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

GENESIS 2:21-24
21  And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof;
22  And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23  And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.

MATTHEW 19:4-6

Mike Pence calls for federal ban on abortion at 15-weeks-At one-year anniversary of Dobbs decision, Republican candidates seek to differentiate themselves from Trump-By Will Weissert and Michelle L. Price JUN 24,23-Today, 8:04 pm

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former US vice president Mike Pence used a Friday gathering of some of the nation’s leading Christian conservatives to urge his rivals for the Republican presidential nomination to support a 15-week federal abortion ban at minimum. The exhortation at the Faith & Freedom Coalition’s annual conference, coming a day before the first anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that overturned Roe v. Wade, amounted to a challenge for the GOP front-runner, Donald Trump, who has been reluctant to endorse a federal abortion ban. The former president is addressing the evangelical assembly on Saturday night.“We must not rest and we must not relent until we restore the sanctity of life to the center of American law in every state in this country,” Pence said. “Every Republican candidate for president should support a ban on abortion [after] 15 weeks as a minimum nationwide standard.”Pence was among a number of 2024 Republican presidential hopefuls — including Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina — to speak Friday before a ballroom of about 500 attendees. All of the candidates emphasized their anti-abortion credentials while urging like-minded activists to stay on the political offensive, even as leading Democrats insist their party’s defense of abortion rights will be a 2024 boon to them.DeSantis, who signed a law in Florida banning abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, touted the measure with a nod toward Trump’s veiled criticism last month that it is “too harsh.”“It was the right thing to do,” DeSantis told the crowd. “Don’t let anyone tell you it wasn’t.”DeSantis has been less clear on where he stands on a federal abortion ban.Not far from the conference site in Washington, US President Joe Biden and US Vice President Kamala Harris were rallying Friday with abortion rights supporters to mark the anniversary of the Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization decision. That ruling, issued June 24, 2022, ended federal constitutional abortion protections and paved the way for near-total bans in some Republican-led states. Democrats have vowed to codify the right to an abortion in federal law, but don’t have the votes in Congress to do so.“Since that dark June day last year, each one of you has worked tirelessly to fight back,” Biden told activists from reproductive rights groups. “You ain’t seen nothing yet.”Referring to supporters of Trump’s Make America Great Again movement, the president added, “What’s really remarkable is despite the will of the American people, MAGA Republicans made it clear that they won’t stop with the Dobbs decision.”After stronger-than-expected results in last year’s midterm elections, Democrats believe issues surrounding abortion access can energize their base, attract moderates alienated by GOP hardliners and help the party hold the Senate, flip the House and reelect BidenEven Trump has suggested that increased abortion restrictions are a weakness for Republicans, despite his three Supreme Court nominees making up the majority of justices who voted to overturn Roe last year.He posted on his social media site in January that the party’s underwhelming midterm performance “wasn’t my fault” and blamed “the ’abortion issue,’ poorly handled by many Republicans, especially those that firmly insisted on No Exceptions, even in the case of Rape, Incest, or Life of the Mother.”Yet the mood at Friday’s Faith & Freedom Coalition session was jubilant, with attendees cheering every mention of Roe v. Wade’s reversal. “Thank God almighty for the Dobbs decision,” Scott told the crowd.Ralph Reed, founder and chairman of the Faith & Freedom Coalition, said the conference’s dates were set years ago, so the fact that it spans the Dobbs anniversary is a “serendipitous coincidence.” Still, he said the gathering is out to ensure top Republican candidates don’t get complacent when it comes to opposing abortion.“We’re certainly going to do everything that we can, as an organization and as a pro-life and pro-family movement, to give our candidates a little bit of a testosterone booster shot and explain to them that they should not be on the defensive,” Reed said in an interview before the conference began. “Those who are afraid of it need to, candidly, grow a backbone.”Ralph Reed speaks during a Donald Trump campaign event courting devout conservatives by combining praise, prayer and patriotism, July 23, 2020, in Alpharetta, Ga. The Faith & Freedom Coalition’s annual conference will be held in Washington. Reed is the founder and chairman of the Faith & Freedom Coalition. (AP Photo/John Amis, File)-Reed drew sustained cheers when he opened the gathering by saying that “after 50 years of prayer, and fasting and knocking on doors and electing candidates and registering voters and changing the culture of our country, Roe v Wade has been overturned.”Michigan Sen. Gary Peters, head of the Democrats’ Senate campaign arm, said this week that top Republican presidential candidates will back a nationwide ban to win support in their GOP primaries, then shift to a more moderate position for the general election.“They’re not going to get away with that,” Peters said.Among GOP candidates, Pence has previously said he’d support banning abortion nationally after just six weeks of pregnancy, before many women know they are pregnant. His declaration Friday that a ban at 15 weeks should be the “minimum nationwide standard” mirrors a call from the anti-abortion group Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America. The organization has vowed not to support any White House candidate who doesn’t support a 15-week federal ban at a minimum.Scott also has praised South Carolina’s six-week ban and backs a 15-week federal prohibition. Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley supports a federal ban but hasn’t said at what point in pregnancy she would seek to ban abortions.Trump has avoided specifying what national limits, if any, he would support on abortion.A deeply devout, evangelical Christian, Pence was greeted far more warmly at this year’s Faith & Freedom Coalition conference than he was the last time he addressed the group in 2021. Then, he was booed by some and faced shouts of “traitor.” That event, held in Florida, came months after the January 6 insurrection at the US Capitol, when Pence defied Trump’s unprecedented demands to overturn Biden’s victory in the 2020 election. The tamer reaction came after Reed warned Friday’s audience about booing or verbally expressing disagreement with any presidential candidates: “If they’re not where they need to be, then let’s just love them and pray them right where they need to go.”Not everyone heeded that warning. Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who has built his 2024 candidacy around criticizing Trump, drew boos when he said the former president is more interested in promoting himself than the country’s interests.A woman near the stage bellowed “We love Trump” and a few others tried to start chants of “Trump! Trump! Trump!” but Christie was able to finish his speech.“You can boo all you want but here’s the thing, our faith teaches us that people have to take responsibility for what they do,” said Christie, who is Catholic. “People have to stand up and take accountability for what they do.”

Republicans take the rare step of censuring Rep. Adam Schiff over Trump-era probes-June 21, 2023, 6:47 PM EDT-By Scott Wong and Kyle Stewart

WASHINGTON — The House took the rare step Wednesday of censuring one of its own members, Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, over his criticisms of then-President Donald Trump and his role in leading the first impeachment inquiry into the former president. The 213-209 party-line vote came exactly one week after a similar effort to censure Schiff, D-Calif., was rejected after 20 Republicans joined Democrats to block the resolution over objections to a provision that called for fining him $16 million. But the author of the resolution, freshman Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, R-Fla., said this week she had secured support from the 20 GOP dissenters after she removed language about a fine. After the vote, Schiff was ordered to stand on the House floor to receive a verbal rebuke, read by Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif. Democrats chanted “Shame!” and “Disgrace!” and heckled McCarthy. The resolution also requires the House Ethics Committee to launch an investigation into Schiff. Six Republicans voted present on the censure resolution.“The perpetrator of this web of deceit became mainstays on cable news, waking up every morning with one goal: to lie, lie, lie to the American people that there was direct evidence of Russia collusion,” Luna said in a floor speech before the vote.Special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation did not establish any coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia, though it did document contacts between Russians and campaign officials and found that the campaign was willing to accept help.Schiff, who is running for an open Senate seat in California, was the chairman and ranking member of the Intelligence Committee during the Trump administration, and he became the face of Democratic accusations that members of Trump's 2016 campaign team colluded with Russia to defeat Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton. In January, McCarthy, a top Trump ally, single-handedly removed Schiff and Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., from the Intelligence panel.“I think once Donald Trump threatened that any Republicans who didn’t go along with his effort to censure me were going to get primaried, they fell in line. … They just cannot stand up to this most unethical, now-indicted president,” a defiant Schiff told reporters on the steps of the Capitol before Wednesday's vote.“As [Franklin D.] Roosevelt said, sometimes you can judge a person by the enemies they make," he added. "Judging from the kind of crazy people that were on the floor today in support of this resolution, I’m doing really well measured by that standard.”Censure represents the House’s formal disapproval of a lawmaker’s misconduct. Even amid today’s political polarization, censure doesn’t happen very often.Schiff is the 25th lawmaker in U.S. history to be censured by the House. Rep. Paul Gosar, R-Ariz., a Trump ally and member of the conservative Freedom Caucus, was censured on Nov. 17, 2021, for posting an animation on Twitter depicting him killing Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., and attacking President Joe Biden. Before that, the last censure occurred more than a decade earlier. On Dec. 2, 2010, the House censured Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., for a variety of ethics violations, including misusing congressional letterhead for fundraising and filing inaccurate financial reports and federal tax returns.Democrats, particularly those who worked closely with Schiff on the Intelligence panel, defended him, both in floor speeches and interviews."Adam Schiff did his job. He spoke the truth, and he held Donald Trump accountable," Rep. Jason Crow, D-Colo., said in an interview. "And demagogues like Donald Trump don't like that. They don't like people calling them out."

THIS IS HOW NUTS THESE DEMOCRAT BABY MURDERER, PEOPHILE TRANNY LOVERS AND PERVERTS. PERVERT TRUTH. BY SAYING SHAME FOR A DEMOCRAT LIAR BUT THATS WHY THESE LUNATIC DEMOCRATS ARE ALWAYS IN THERAPY ROOMS, CRY ROOMS, AROMA THERAPY ROOMS. PET THERAPY ROOMS AND SHAME ROOMS OF THE WAY THEY ACT. THEIR CONCIENCE SAYS I NEED THERAPY SO I CAN KEEP LYING AGAINST TRUMP. TILL HE DISAPPEARS INTO OBLIVION.GOOD LUCK RADICAL EXTREMISTS FAR LEFT-HOW FAR. THE DEMOCRAPS ARE SO FAR LEFT THEY (OR WE WISH THEY WOULD) FALL OFF THE FLAT EARTH THAT THEY BELIEVE.MAYBE GOD WILL TILT THE EARTH FROM AN EARTHQUAKE TO SWALLOW UP ALL THESE HYPOCRITICAL BABY MURDERER LIARS.HOPEFULLY.

Chaos ERUPTS in House After Adam Schiff Is Censured: ‘Shame! Shame! Shame!’Story by Charlie Nash • 3h ago-JUN 21,23

Chaos erupted in the House of Representatives on Wednesday after former House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) was officially censured for “misleading the American public.”In all, 213 Republicans voted to censure Schiff, while 209 Democrats voted against the resolution. As Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) announced the results on the House floor, Democrats broke out into chants of “shame!” before going on to shout “Santos!” in reference to Rep. George Santos (R-NY), who has been charged with fraud, false statements, money laundering, and theft of public funds in May.House Democrats could also be seen applauding and cheering Schiff, and patting him on the back.McCarthy was repeatedly interrupted by the jeers of Democrats as he tried to read out the censure and had to start from the beginning several times.“I have all night,” said McCarthy in response. After the shouting temporarily stopped, McCarthy announced, “The House of Representatives censures Adam Schiff, representative of the 30th congressional district of California, for misleading the American public and for conduct unbecoming of an elected member of the House of Representatives.” In his own speech, Schiff called the censure “false and defamatory” and said he would wear it as a “badge of honor.”“You flatter me with this falsehood. You, who are the authors of a big lie about the last election, must condemn the truth tellers and I stand proudly before you,” he remarked

3 And there came out of the smoke (DEMONIC) locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.
4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads.
5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man.

Triple-digit temperatures continue to bake Texas and other parts of the South-Cities like Abilene, Austin, Houston, Laredo and Corpus Christi could set daily record highs in the coming days-June 20, 2023, 10:49 AM EDT-By Kathryn Prociv

Parts of the South, especially across Texas, have been enduring a blistering heat event for days, where temperatures have soared above 100 degrees. These temperatures, when combined with high humidity, have made it feel more like 110-120 degrees. On Monday, Houston saw their first 100-degree day of the year. This was about a month earlier than average, as they typically don’t hit 100 degrees until July 19.On Tuesday, 32 million people remained under heat advisories and excessive heat warnings across the Southern tier including parts of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and New Mexico. In some locations, the heat index will be hotter than 120 degrees. The Weather Prediction Center’s Greg Carbin tweeted that “just under 30 million people will experience at least 3 hours of a Heat Index of at least 105 degrees.” This included people within the large metro areas of Oklahoma City, Dallas, Austin and San Antonio.Tuesday will be the hottest day of the week for many, as temperatures climb to 10 to 15 degrees above average. With highs forecast to eclipse the century mark, cities like Abilene, Austin, Houston, Laredo and Corpus Christi could set daily record highs in the coming days.

wet winter may impact the U.S. wildfire season-May 24, 2023, 10:37 AM EDT-By Evan Bush

Wildfire season in most parts of the western United States could be delayed this summer with heavy snow still covering many mountain ranges, national fire forecasters say. Still, the risk of damaging wildfires continues to trend upward as the climate warms, one factor making it more difficult to predict how the season will shake out. Forecasters and fire ecology experts said changes to fire behavior make it challenging to predict conditions in the late summer and the early fall. Fire seasons are growing longer. Hotter temperatures zap fuels of their moisture faster. And more people are living near the wilderness — and potentially, in harm's way.  Jim Wallmann, a meteorologist for the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho, said “the likelihood of getting something big early in the year is greatly reduced.” The NIFC is predicting above-normal fire activity in parts of the Pacific Northwest, including eastern Oregon and central Washington, in July and August. Elsewhere in the West, forecasters are predicting normal or below-normal fire activity for those months. “With these really wet winters, you think there’s going to be a quieter fire season and they generally start slower,” Wallmann said. “What ends up happening is your fuels still dry out faster than they used to.” Even if the season starts slowly — it could be the finish that matters most. Many factors determine the dynamic of a fire season. While it might seem like a wet winter would play a dramatic role, experts say it’s easy to overstate its influence. “There’s not a strong correlation between winter precipitation and the next season’s fire outlook,” said Craig Clements, the director of the Wildfire Interdisciplinary Research Center at San Jose State University. Fuel moisture — how wet sticks, logs and grasses are on the landscape — is a better indicator of wildfire risk. This year, with many areas of California and the Great Basin receiving more than twice as much snow as is typical, researchers expect the snowpack’s melt to keep fuels from drying out quickly. The snowpack will also reduce access to high country wilderness to humans, the most frequent fire-starters in the U.S. Both of these factors should delay the fire season. “What happens after that? It all depends — it depends how quickly temperatures increase during summer, how long they stay hot and how hot they become,” said Erica Fleishman, a professor at Oregon State University and the director of the Oregon Climate Change Research Institute. “The vegetation can still dry out very quickly.” In some areas, the wet winter could boost wildfire intensity.  For some plants, including nonnative grasses like cheatgrass, abnormal amounts of winter moisture can spur extra growth — creating more fuel, and fire potential, late in the summer. “Cheatgrass responds well to winter precipitation,” Fleishman said. “It can lead to greater wildfire likelihood and larger wildfires.” While most western states had wet years, parts of the Pacific Northwest did not. Nearly half of Oregon is in drought, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor. “In much of the Pacific Northwest, the snowpack was high, but total precipitation was not,” Fleishman said. “The deep snowpack more reflected cold temperatures rather than a lot of precipitation.” Seasonal outlooks call for high temperatures and fire weather in central Washington and eastern Oregon. “We’re looking at a little bit above average for temperature across the state for the June through August period and a little drier than normal,” said Vaughn Cork, a fuels analyst with the Washington Department of Natural Resources. “It looks like it will be relatively mild through probably June. And then as our grass starts to cure out in the Columbia Basin, we’ll start to see a few large fires out in the grasslands and once those start hitting the foothills, the timber becomes available.”  An unseasonable heat wave that began this month prompted an early melt and allowed grasses to get an early start on growing.  “That’s something we’re paying attention to,” Wallmann said. Although the wet winter could slow wildfires in the early summer, climate change is shifting baselines for wildfires across the West. A Climate Central analysis published Wednesday found a dramatic increase in the number of fire weather days in western states. The analysis, which evaluated measures of temperature, relative humidity and wind speed, found that some areas in Southern California and New Mexico are seeing an additional two months of fire weather each year than they were a century ago. Some parts of California, Oregon and Washington have twice as much fire weather, the analysis shows. “Should a fire break out, it’s much more likely to be extreme,” said Kaitlyn Trudeau, a researcher at Climate Central. “It’s an increase in the chance this fire is going to blow up into a much bigger beast than if it wasn’t so hot, dry and windy.” The area affected by wildland fires doubled from 1984 to 2015, according to research cited in the National Climate Assessment, with climate change playing a large role by drying out fuels. Other factors — such as more people in wildland areas and a build-up of fuels because of historic fire suppression — are also contributing to the increase in acres burned. What’s normal — or considered a quiet fire year in the U.S. — is being redefined, said Brian Harvey, a University of Washington forestry scientist and assistant professor. Federal wildland fire agencies began tracking the number of acres burned nationwide in 1983. Harvey noted that just one fire season saw more than 6 million acres burned from 1983 to 2000.“We’ve seen 13 years since 2000 where we’ve seen 6 million acres burned,” he said. “It’s a qualitatively different way to think about what is a normal fire year compared to decades ago.”But the historical record contains evidence of large wildfires and big seasons of smoke. Ecosystems benefit from wildfire. They are adapted to it.“It’s easy to get in our mind that all fire is going to be bad,” Harvey said. “From an ecological standpoint, fire is a critical agent of resilience in our ecosyste.

THE CANADIAN PRESS/HO-Facebook-BC Wildfire ServiceThe Peace River Regional District says residents of 14 properties in rural areas north of Fort St. John may return home after being ordered to leave due to a record-breaking wildfire, though the situation remains “volatile.”It follows the lifting of another evacuation order for properties east of Highway 97, but the district says people should be prepared to leave again on short notice. The Donnie Creek blaze has grown in recent days to become the largest wildfire recorded in British Columbia history, spanning more than 5,500 square kilometres. An update from the BC Wildfire Service says the wildfire accounts for about 62 per cent of the total area burned in the province so far this season.Wildfires have charred nearly 8,700 square kilometres since April 1, eclipsing the 20-year average of about 162 square kilometres for the same time of year.A fire that forced the closure of a key highway connecting communities on the west coast of Vancouver Island has meanwhile been declared under control, and the province says it’s on track to reopen to single-lane alternating traffic this weekend.A statement from the Transportation Ministry says crews have cleared the stretch of Highway 4 east of Port Alberni of trees and debris that had tumbled down over steep terrain, and work is underway to install temporary safety measures. It says those measures include a concrete barrier and protective “mesh curtains” suspended by cranes to prevent debris from falling onto the route.A backroad detour remains open and local airlines have added flights to meet demand for travel to and from cut-off communities, including Tofino and Ucluelet.

Donnie Creek Wildfire now the largest in B.C.’s history: Wildfire Service-Fire in Northeastern corner of the province now estimated at more than 5,343 square kilometres-The Canadian PressJun. 19, 2023 7:30 a.m.News

The Donnie Creek wildfire has grown into the largest blaze ever recorded in British Columbia, BC Wildfire Service said Sunday. The fire, which is burning south of Fort Nelson in northeastern B.C., is now estimated at more than 5,343 square kilometres in size.It surpasses the Plateau fire that charred 5,210 square kilometres northwest of Williams Lake in 2017 and was previously considered the province’s largest fire. The Donnie Creek wildfire is one of about 80 fires burning across the province.B.C. Wildfire Service Information Officer Marg Drysdale said crews are focused on protecting infrastructure and the Alaska Highway, but expect the blaze to continue to grow throughout the summer.“We will have crews on it into the fall. It is an ongoing event,” she said in a telephone interview. The service lists the fire as out of control, noting that it is highly visible and may pose a threat to public safety. It said 250 BC Wildfire Service personnel, including 152 firefighters, are working to control the blaze.“Our crews are working on areas where they believe they can have the best results and it would lessen the impact to people in infrastructure in the area,” Drysdale said. She explained the fire was started by lightning but is currently the result of about eight fires that grew quickly and merged into one blaze.“It’s really important for people right across the province to understand that we have not hit the fire season that we normally see in July and August,” she said.“We’re in the middle of June. If conditions continue as they have, if we get a hot summer, we are going to see more impacts.”This comes as the Peace River Regional District cancelled its evacuation order for Trutch and the surrounding areas, meaning residents can return home.Earlier Sunday, the district also rescinded its evacuation order for the One Island Lake community, which is impacted by the 250-square-kilometre West Kiskatinaw wildfire.Though the district said people from that area may return home, an evacuation alert remains in place so they should continue to be prepared to leave on short notice.

A third day of smoky air gives millions in US East Coast, Canada a new view of wildfire threat-By JENNIFER PELTZ and ROB GILLIES-June 8, 2023

NEW YORK (AP) — Images of smoke obscuring the New York skyline and the Washington Monument this week have given the world a new picture of the perils of wildfire, far from where blazes regularly turn skies into hazardous haze.A third day of unhealthy air from Canadian wildfires may have been an unnerving novelty for millions of people on the U.S. East Coast, but it was a reminder of conditions routinely troubling the country’s West — and a wake-up call about the future, scientists say.“This is kind of an astounding event” but likely to become more common amid global warming, said Justin Mankin, a Dartmouth College geography professor and climate scientist. “This is something that we, as the eastern side of the country, need to take quite seriously.”Millions of residents could see that for themselves Thursday. The conditions sent asthma sufferers to hospitals, delayed flights, postponed ballgames and even pushed back a White House Pride Month celebration. The fires sent plumes of fine particulate matter as far away as North Carolina and northern Europe and parked clumps of air rated unhealthy or worse over the heavily populated Eastern Seaboard. At points this week, air quality in places including New York, the nation’s most populous city, nearly hit the top of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s air-pollution scale. Local officials urged people to stay indoors as much as possible and wear face masks when they venture out.Such conditions are nothing new — indeed, increasingly frequent — on the U.S. West Coast, where residents were buying masks and air filters even before the coronavirus pandemic and have become accustomed to checking air quality daily in summertime. Since 2017, California has seen eight of its 10 largest wildfires and six of the most destructive. The hazardous air has sometimes forced children, older adults and people with asthma and other respiratory conditions to stay indoors for weeks at a time. Officials have opened smoke shelters for people who are homeless or who might not have access to clean indoor air.So what’s the big deal about the smoke out East? “The West has always burned, as has Canada, but what’s important now is that we’re getting these massive amounts of smoke in a very populated region, so many, many people are getting affected,” said Loretta Mickley, the co-leader of Harvard University’s Atmospheric Chemistry Modeling Group.Fueled by an unusually dry and warm period in spring, the Canadian fire season that is just getting started could well become the worst on record. More than 400 blazes burned Thursday. Over a third are in Quebec, where Public Safety Minister François Bonnardel said no rain is expected until next week and temperatures are predicted to rise.He said there have been no reports of injuries, deaths or home damage so far from the fires, but it remained unclear Thursday when more than 12,000 evacuees from various communities would be able to return. Manon Cyr, mayor of the evacuated town of Chibougamau, said she advised residents to be “Zen and patient. That’s the most important.”But, she noted, the real solution will be a good dose of rain.In neighboring Ontario, a haze hung over Toronto, Canada’s most populous city, where many school recess breaks, day care center activities and outdoor recreation programs were canceled or moved inside.U.S. President Joe Biden said Thursday that hundreds of American firefighters and support personnel have been in Canada since May, and that he’d offered Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau “any additional help Canada needs to rapidly accelerate the effort to put out these fires.” The two spoke Wednesday.Wildfires aren’t the only air-quality problems that beset major population centers around the globe. In Beijing, for example, decades of sandstorms blowing in from the Mongolian plains have mixed with human-made pollution, sometimes making neighboring buildings invisible to one another. Commuters have even been spotted walking down streets wearing plastic bags over their heads to insulate against particulates. Many African countries in and near the Sahara Desert, too, regularly grapple with bad air mainly because of sandstorms. Senegal, in particular, has endured years of unsafe levels of air pollution, which is causing asthma and other respiratory diseases, climate experts say.Chemically, wildfire smoke can be more toxic than typical urban pollution, but with an asterisk: With smog, “the problem is you’re in it all the time,” says Jonathan Deason, an environmental and energy management professor George Washington University. In New York City, Health Department spokesperson Pedro Frisneda said emergency rooms were seeing a “higher than usual” number of asthma-related visits from the blanket of smoke, estimating patients were in the “low hundreds.”The city public school system — the nation’s largest — said Friday’s classes would be conducted remotely, a decision that mostly affected high schoolers because most other pupils already had a scheduled day off. Motorists even got a break Thursday and Friday from having to move their cars for street cleaning. In Washington, a big Pride Month celebration on the White House’s South Lawn was moved from Thursday to Saturday, and a Washington Nationals-Arizona Diamondbacks game was postponed. Local officials closed public parks and suspended some road work.Philadelphia ended trash collection ended early, for the sake of sanitation employees. Bridgeport, Connecticut’s largest city, opened spaces usually used as hot-weather cooling centers so that residents could escape the unhealthy air.A Chris Stapleton concert at a Syracuse amphitheater was pushed back, fireworks were canceled at Niagara Falls and racing was canceled at New York’s Belmont Park two days before the famed Belmont Stakes. It wasn’t yet clear whether the Triple Crown race itself might be affected; Gov. Kathy Hochul said that would depend on the air quality at the track Saturday. And in central Pennsylvania, Country Meadows Retirement Communities temporarily closed walking areas and outdoor courtyards designated for residents in secured memory support units — “they may or may not recognize when they experience respiratory distress,” explained company spokesperson Kelly Kuntz. All 2,300 residents of its 10 facilities were asked to cancel outdoor trips and strenuous outdoor activities.“Bocce is huge,” Kuntz said. “No bocce ball until this is done.”___Gillies reported from Toronto.
