CDC SITE-CDC surveillance has shown an increase in RSV detections and RSV-associated emergency department visits and hospitalizations in multiple U.S. regions, with some regions nearing seasonal peak levels. Clinicians and public health professionals should be aware of increases in respiratory viruses, including RSV.
Respiratory syncytial (sin-SISH-uhl) virus, or RSV, is a common respiratory virus that usually causes mild, cold-like symptoms. Most people recover in a week or two, but RSV can be serious, especially for infants and older adults. RSV is the most common cause of bronchiolitis (inflammation of the small airways in the lung) and pneumonia (infection of the lungs) in children younger than 1 year of age in the United States.
IF RSV CAUSES MILD, COLD LIKE SYMPTOMS. WHY ALL THE LIBERALMITES SCARE ABOUT THE HOSPITALS ARE FILLED WITH DYING KIDS. NO ITS THE VACCINE THATS GOT ALL THE KIDS IN HOSPITALS. NOT THE RSV, FLU, COLDS. Ontario's top doctor strongly recommends masking indoors as health system faces 'extraordinary pressures'-Medical officials have increasingly called for public masking as infections rise-CBC News · Posted: Nov 14, 2022 7:45 AM ET | Last Updated: 3 hours ago
Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore has previously said this fall and winter would see a resurgence of respiratory illnesses and he would recommend masking in certain indoor settings if hospitals began cancelling surgeries to deal with a surge of patients. (Evan Mitsui/CBC)-Ontario's chief medical officer of health is "strongly recommending" that Ontarians wear masks in all indoor public settings, including in schools and in childcare settings. At a news conference on Monday, Dr. Kieran Moore said the province's health system is facing "extraordinary pressures" with the ongoing circulation of COVID-19, the earlier than normal rise in Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), as well as influenza."What we are facing is a triple threat that requires our collective action and action to protect the most vulnerable in our communities, the very young, the very old and those with underlying medical issues and to ensure that our healthcare system remains able to care for Ontarians when they need it," Moore said.Moore said Ontarians need to get back to using all the layers of protection that have proven to work over the course of the pandemic."We should all be screening daily for signs of illness and stay home when you are sick," he said."I'm asking Ontarians, especially children six months of age and older, pregnant individuals, families and caregivers with young children, health-care workers and elderly, and those with underlying health conditions to get your flu shot as soon as possible, [to] protect themselves and those around them," Moore added.Unprecedented surge of sick children-The recommendation to mask up comes as pediatric hospitals across Ontario have been dealing with an unprecedented surge of sick children in recent weeks.Moore said children aged two to five should only wear a mask with supervision if they can safely tolerate masking, and can put it on and take it off.Moore has previously said this fall and winter would see a resurgence of respiratory illnesses and that he would recommend masking in certain indoor settings if hospitals began cancelling surgeries to deal with a surge of patients.Medical officials have also been increasingly calling for the public to mask up after children's hospitals across the province became overwhelmed with young patients in emergency departments, pediatric wards and intensive care units. On Friday the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto announced it would be ramping down surgeries to redeploy staff to those areas.SickKids chief executive officer Dr. Ronald Cohn said the cancellation of surgeries is a big blow to children, their families and health-care workers."It is heartbreaking for the families and the children because, you know, the term 'elective surgery' doesn't really exist in children," Cohn told CBC Toronto, adding it's about finding the right time to schedule and perform the surgery."It's also incredibly morally distressing for all of us as health-care professionals, recognizing that we actually cannot do these procedures for the children, knowing that they need them," said Cohn.Dr. Chris Simpson, executive vice-president, medical, at Ontario Health, also spoke at Monday's news conference. He said that "unusually high numbers of children are coming into hospital emergency departments" for one or more viral illnesses, and the total number of these children that require admission is "uncommonly high."Simpson said while Ontario hospitals have been preparing for "this triple threat," they are seeing high numbers of seriously ill children and seeing them earlier in the season than had been expected."Although this current situation is unlike anything we've seen in the pediatric population in recent memory, we have strong systems and structures that have been put in place during the pandemic for our adult community," Simpson said.Meanwhile, speaking at a news conference on Sunday, an unrelated issue, Premier Doug Ford urged members of the public to get their flu shots and be up to date on the COVID-19 vaccinations."Wear a mask every time possible," Ford said.Ford did not answer repeated questions Sunday about whether his government would be mandating masks in any settings."I'm going to follow Dr. Moore's direction," Ford said, a line he repeated several times when pressed on the issue. With files from Desmond Brown, Derick Deonarain and The Canadian Press
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) - Government of Ontario-Ministry of Health-Ministry of Long-Term Car
Key Facts-Information for Health Care Providers: Respiratory Syncytial Virus Prophylaxis for High-Risk Infants Program.Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infects the lungs and airways. It causes colds and is the most common cause of broncholitis in young infants and toddlers. Most children will have at least one RSV infection by the age of two. The infection is most severe in young babies and older adults and can cause serious lung infections that may require hospitalization. However, most infants and children infected by RSV typically experience mild symptoms that last a few days. Older children and adults also get RSV but symptoms are typically mild, similar to a common cold.Through the Respiratory Syncytial Virus Prophylaxis for High-Risk Infants Program, infants and children who are less than two years of age at high risk of severe illness from RSV may be eligible for the drug palivizumab used to prevent a serious lower tract infection caused by the virus.Key Facts-Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infects the lungs and airways. It causes colds and is the most common cause of broncholitis, an inflammation of the small airways in the lung and pneumonia in young infants and toddlers. Most children will have an RSV infection by the age of two.Children are more likely catch RSV from November to April (with variations in various regions of Ontario) when the virus is most active.RSV usually causes a mild infection that would not require medical attention or treatment. What are the signs and symptoms of RSV? An infant or child with RSV may experience symptoms like a cold or flu, including:coughing,a runny nose, fever, wheezing,a decrease in appetite and energy, irritability.Because these are common symptoms, it is easy to mistake RSV for another respiratory illnesses. While most RSV symptoms will go away in a few days, seek medical attention if your child has trouble breathing, is not drinking enough fluids or experiencing worsening symptoms. How can I treat my child with RSV? In most cases, you can take care of your child with RSV at home as long as they are breathing comfortably, their skin does not look blue and they are drinking and urinating as usual. Most children get better within a week or two.Because RSV is a virus, antibiotics will not help your child get better faster. What you can do for your child:Manage fever and pain: Use over-the-counter acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Ibuprofen should only be given if your child is drinking reasonably well. Do not give ibuprofen to babies under six months old without first talking to your doctor. Never give aspirin to children.Hydrate: It is important that children drink enough fluids to prevent dehydration (loss of body fluids). If your baby is having trouble drinking, try to clear nasal congestion gently with a bulb syringe or with saline (salt water) nose drops.Bathing: A lukewarm bath or wet face cloths will not change your child’s body temperature but may help them feel more comfortable. Avoid cold baths because they are uncomfortable and can make your child shiver, raising their temperature. Alcohol baths or rubs are not recommended.Clothing: Losing heat through the skin allows the body to cool down and may make your child feel more comfortable. Dress your child in light clothing. If your child starts to shiver, add warmer clothing—remove them when the shivering stops.Talk to your health care provider: Before giving your child non-prescription cold medicines, talk to your child’s health care provider. Some medicines, like over-the-counter cough and cold medicines, contain ingredients that are not good for children. When should I go to an emergency department? Some babies and children can develop a severe form of RSV, which may result in pneumonia or broncholitis. These illnesses can be serious and your child may need to visit their health care provider or go to the emergency department.Go to an emergency department if your child: Has trouble breathing (working hard to breathe, breathing faster than normal), pale skin, or lips that look white or blue, asthma or wheezing. Is younger than three months old and has any of the following symptoms: fever or is very sleepy/difficult to wake, repeated vomiting and unable to keep any liquids down for eight hours or more vomiting or diarrhea containing a large amount of blood, signs of dehydration with dry mouth or no urination for eight hours or more. Is there a vaccine for RSV? There is no vaccine to prevent RSV for the general public, but getting the recommended immunizations may protect your child from some of the complications from respiratory infections.Infants and children under the age of two at high risk of severe illness from RSV may be eligible for the drug palivizumab used to prevent a serious lower tract infection caused by the virus. Please see eligibility here and speak to your child’s health care provider if this may be an option for them. How is it RSV spread? RSV is very contagious and spreads the same way as a common cold by:Touching droplets containing the virus after someone coughs or sneezes. Being close (less than two meters apart) to someone with the infection who is coughing or sneezing.Touching something that has the virus, such as toys, door handles, furniture or countertops. RSV can live on countertops and other hard objects for more than six hours. It can live on clothes and hands for up to one hour. After exposure to the virus, it can take two to eight days before children become sick and are contagious for up to three to eight days. Children are often exposed to and infected with RSV outside the home, such as in school or child care centers, and can then transmit the virus to other members of the family. How can I protect my child from RSV? Stay home: Keep your child at home if they are sick and avoid sick relatives until they have no fever and their symptoms are improving for at least 24 hours (or 48 hours if they had nausea, vomiting and/or diarrhea).Clean surfaces: Clean surfaces in your home that are touched often on a regular basis.Wash your hands: Wash your hands and your children’s hands often to reduce the spread of germs. Ask others to do the same.Use your sleeve: Coughing or sneezing into your sleeve instead of your hands and putting used tissue into the garbage right away.Breastfeed your baby: Breast milk contains antibodies and other immune factors that help prevent and fight off illness. Don’t smoke: Make sure that your child is not around cigarette smoke, especially in your car or home.If your child is under the age of two and at high risk of severe illness from RSV, they may be eligible for the drug palivizumab used to prevent a serious lower tract infection caused by the virus. Please see eligibility here and discuss this option with your child’s health care provider.Information for Health Care Providers: Respiratory Syncytial Virus Prophylaxis for High-Risk Infants Program-Updated for 2022/2023 RSV season-Through the Respiratory Syncytial Virus Prophylaxis for High-Risk Infants Program, the Ministry of Health covers the full cost of the drug palivizumab used to prevent a serious lower respiratory tract infection caused by the Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) in infants who are less than 2 years of age at the start of the RSV season and who are at high risk for RSV disease. The drug is only provided during the active season to infants who meet the ministry's eligibility criteria for funding. The active season is generally from November to April, with variations in various regions of Ontario. The specific start dates for the 2022/2023 season are set out below.Palivizumab will be funded for RSV prophylaxis in infants who are residents of Ontario, have a valid Ontario Health card and meet one of the following clinical criteria: Infants born prematurely at ≤ 32 completed weeks gestation and aged ≤ 6 months at the start of, or during, the local RSV season; or Infants 33-35 completed weeks gestation and aged ≤ 6 months at the start of, or during the local RSV season, who DO NOT live in remote communities AND have a Risk Assessment Tool Score of 49 to 100; or Infants 33-35 completed weeks gestation and aged ≤ 6 months at the start of, or during the local RSV season, and who LIVE IN remote communities defined by lack of immediate access to medical care(< 30 min) (i.e., Level I hospital) AND/OR inability to access pediatric services in a timely manner (< 90 minutes); or Children < 24 months of age with Down Syndrome / Trisomy 21; or Children < 24 months of age with bronchopulmonary dysplasia/chronic lung disease (BPD/CLD; see reference manual for definition of BPD/CLD) and who required oxygen and/or medical therapy specifically for chronic lung disease within the 6 months preceding the RSV season; or Children who were < 12 months of age and approved for coverage in the previous RSV season for BPD/CLD; or Children < 12 months of age with hemodynamically significant (HS) cyanotic or acyanotic congenital heart disease (CHD): requiring corrective surgery or are on cardiac medication for congestive heart failure or diagnosed with moderate to severe pulmonary hypertension. Children 12-24 months of age with ongoing HS CHD will be considered on a case-by-case basis.Infants and children with other specific medical illnesses that place them at high risk of hospitalizations and complications from a RSV infection may also be considered for prophylaxis, if they meet necessary requirements. The enrolment forms for these infants and children will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis by the ministry's medical consultant(s) with expertise in RSV prophylaxis. The following are the links to the guidelines, general information, answers to frequently asked questions and applicable forms for the current RSV prophylaxis season for health care professionals:-Information and Guidelines-Update to the start date of the 2022-2023 RSV Season-Please see the following notices regarding changes to the 2022-2023 RSV Season Start date:The RSV Season in Ontario will start on October 31st, 2022-2022-2023 RSV Reference Manual-Updated for 2022/2023 RSV Season-For More Information-Call ServiceOntario, Infoline at:1–866–532–3161 (Toll–free)-In Toronto, (416) 314–5518-TTY 1–800–387–5559.In Toronto, TTY (416)327–4282-Hours of operation: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm
SO THE DEMOLIBNUTS NOT ONLY RIGGED THE ELECTIONS AGAIN FOR THEMSELVES. BUT MONEY LAUNDERED, SCAMMED AND STOLE AMERICAN CITIZENS MONEY. TO GET THE CRYPTO CURRENCY CONTROLLED BY THE GOVERNMENT DEMOCRAPS.
Collapse Of FTX Exposes Democrat Party Money Laundering Operation Using Ukraine Aid-November 14, 2022 Niamh Harris.
FTX Ukraine-The collapse of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange has revealed a Democrat party money laundering pipeline using FTX to funnel Ukraine financial aid back to to them in order to fund their midterm elections. It turns out that the tens of billions of dollars going to Ukraine were actually laundered back to the US to corrupt Democrats and elites using FTX cryptocurrency. Now the money is gone and FTX has gone bankrupt. As previously reported, the FTX crypto company gave at least $40 million to Democrat candidates and causes in the midterms.FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried just happened to be Biden’s second biggest donor. The Gateway Pundit reports: In addition to this, Daily Caller lists many of the lawmakers who Sam Bankman Fried was bankrolling who oversaw the institution that was supposed to keep on eye on companies like FTX:Sam Bankman-Fried, prolific Democratic donor and ex-CEO of now-bankrupt cryptocurrency exchange FTX, funded the campaigns of members of Congress overseeing the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), one of the key bodies tasked with regulating the crypto industry and the subject of Bankman-Fried’s aggressive lobbying.Bankman-Fried’s FTX is currently under investigation by the CFTC and the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) after Bankman-Fried allegedly moved $10 billion in client assets from his crypto exchange to his trading firm Alameda Research, and a liquidity crisis at his exchange which prompted the company to file for bankruptcy. However, prior to the agency’s probe, Bankman-Fried aggressively courted the CFTC – and funded several key lawmakers charged with overseeing the agency, pouring cash into their campaign coffers.FTX also happens to be related to Ukraine. The far-left Washington Post reported on March 3 that Ukraine was dealing in crypto. The Ukrainian government has gathered more than $42 million in cryptocurrency donations since Saturday, plus digital artwork including a limited edition worth roughly $200,000, according to blockchain analytics firm Elliptic. The challenge is how the country cashes in on these assets to fund its war needs. Then less than a week later FTX made the news for involving itself in Ukraine:Amid the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the CEO of FTX, Sam Bankman Fried has come forward to help a crypto donation project. He humbly announced that FTX will be supporting the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance and other communities in collecting crypto donations for the country. The Ukrainian government has received over $60 million in crypto donations from all over the world.FTX’s CEO, Sam Bankman Fried highlighted that the war in Ukraine has been dragging on. The country is in full need of humanitarian help and access to global financial infrastructure. He also called attention to sanctions and crypto during this kind of situation. He indicated that crypto exchanges should enforce sanctions announced by the government seriously.FTX has stressed across all of its regulatory and policy efforts, active coordination and communication with regulators and policymakers is crucial to ensuring that laws and rules achieve their intended outcome, reads a letter by FTX-Pointing out the urgency to help the nation Sam Bankman announced that the FTX team is honored to support the Ukrainian Ministry of Finance in simplifying the donation process. The word is now out. The Democrats sent tens of billions to Ukraine and then laundered this money back to Democrat pockets and funds in the US. Now the company is bankrupt and the funds are nowhere to be found. This information was shared on Twitter and we can confirm from our sources that this is accurate.pic.twitter.com/DkCx8xwsiG — SARAH CONNOR (@LibertyBelleNws) November 12, 2022
Democrats Keep the US Senate but Crypto Only Has Eyes for FTX Collapse-After a whirlwind election week dogged by crypto market madness, the industry's regulatory future in the U.S. is in the hands of a divided government.-By Sandali Handagama-AccessTimeIconNov 13, 2022 at 9:25 a.m. PST
Democrats have retained control of the U.S. Senate following the midterm elections. Although a number of pro-crypto candidates from both sides are in, crypto exchange FTX’s fresh collapse will likely spell more regulations for the space. The result was called on Sunday, five days after the elections were held, with election officials still counting votes for several members of the House of Representatives. It is not yet clear which party will control the lower body of Congress. It’s also unclear how much the election outcome could sway crypto legislation already in the works, as the laws have had bipartisan support and the key lawmakers behind the initiatives remain in office. The crypto industry made a concerted effort to make its mark on Capitol Hill this year, and a number of proponents from both parties have won their respective races. But the market could be a wild card.On the day of the election, Sam Bankman-Fried, founder of FTX, made a surprise announcement on Twitter that rival platform Binance had signed a non-binding letter of intent to acquire FTX. In the days that followed, the deal was scrapped and the once multi-billion dollar exchange filed for bankruptcy on Friday. Over the weekend, FTX and FTX US were hacked with $600 million worth of crypto moved off the exchange.Crypto prices across the board took a nosedive following the news, with bitcoin price dropping 22% in the last seven days, according to CoinMarketCap data on Sunday.Bankman-Fried, who said he had spent much of his time talking to lawmakers and regulators in D.C. these last months, may still influence crypto rules, but not in the way he might have intended.Several key Senators within the Democratic Party have expressed concern over the collapse of crypto exchange FTX, which was led by major election donor Sam Bankman-Fried. Sen. Sherrod Brown, who will continue to chair the Senate Banking Committee, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who sits on that committee, have both called for investigations into the exchange.
