The head of the New Brunswick Medical Society is urging those who are eligible to get their fourth dose of a COVID-19 vaccine amid what he believes is the start of a new wave of the pandemic in the province.Dr. Mark MacMillan made the comments Friday, after Horizon Health Network announced three emergency departments were forced to temporarily close because too many doctors and nurses were off sick with COVID-19."The wave, unfortunately, appears to be starting. We're seeing an increase in the numbers," he said."We really need New Brunswickers to protect themselves [by getting their fourth dose] so that we can protect ourselves as well, so we can keep working and care for you when you come see us if you're ill."Earlier this week, Dr. Jennifer Russell, the province's chief medical officer of health, said officials were watching for a possible new wave after four more COVID deaths, an increase in hospitalizations because of the virus and a near doubling in new reported cases over the previous week."That's what it's looking like, but we're still analyzing the data," she said, noting B.C. and Ottawa both recently announced they're experiencing new waves."I think over the course of the next week, we will be able to determine here if that's the case."Officials had previously predicted a COVID surge in the fall.The risk of transmission tends to decrease in the summer when people spend more time outdoors and they can more easily physically distance, Russell has said.As of Tuesday's COVIDWatch report, the number of people newly admitted to hospital for COVID-19 jumped to 22, compared to six the previous week, and the number of people in hospital because of the virus increased to 19 from 15, including one who requires intensive care.There were 1,915 new cases of COVID-19 reported, up from 1,025.And 182 health-care workers were off the job across the province after either testing positive for COVID-19 or coming into contact with a positive case, up from 118 the previous week.The Oromocto Public Hospital's emergency room was closed Friday "due to COVID-related illnesses among staff," Horizon said in a news release.The Sussex Health Centre's ER was closed Friday evening and will be closed Saturday and Sunday evening as well because of a doctor and nursing shortage caused by an increase in COVID cases. Three emergency departments have been forced to temporarily close because too many doctors and nurses are off sick with COVID-19, the Horizon Health Network announced Thursday.The Oromocto emergency room will be closed Friday, the Sussex emergency room will be closed during the evenings Friday through Sunday, and the Sackville emergency room will be closed all weekend, according to a news release."All patients and clients requiring urgent medical care will need to seek treatment at other hospitals and ambulances will be diverted to other hospitals," it said.Horizon spokesperson Kris McDavid could not immediately say how many doctors or nurses are off sick with COVID at each hospital.But 27 Horizon employees have tested positive for the virus in the Fredericton region, Zone 3, as of Thursday morning, 44 employees have tested positive in the Saint John region, Zone 2, and 15 in the Moncton region, Zone 1, he said.The ER at Oromocto Public Hospital closed Thursday at 4 p.m. and won't reopen until Saturday at 8 a.m., "due to COVID-related illnesses among staff," Horizon said in a news release. The ER is normally open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., daily.The Sussex Health Centre's ER will be closed Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. each day.And the Sackville Memorial Hospital ER will be closed all day Saturday and Sunday. We know the burnout rate is much higher than it's ever been among health-care workers. Our cases in staff have essentially doubled over the last week."To get more staff working, Gardam said Health P.E.I. has offered bonuses for additional shifts and called back people from vacation.Health P.E.I. is also prioritizing staffing at Queen Elizabeth Hospital and Prince County Hospital because they have the largest emergency departments and people may be transferred there anyway, which is the reason why there's been closures at other ERs across the Island.Gardam said it is hard to gauge how the rising COVID-19 case trend in the province will affect the health-care system, but that it's "certainly not going to make it better.""We know in other parts of the world, some parts of Europe, for example, they've had quite a dramatic increase in hospitalizations. We haven't seen that," he said."We have a very high rate of vaccination. We have a moderately good rate of booster shots. Everybody should get their booster shots. But I don't know. Nobody knows if this is going to be as bad as it was in January or if two weeks from now we're saying, you know what, COVID has eased off. We just have to sort of assume the worst."'In-between time'P.E.I.'s COVID-19 test positivity rate is 43.1 per cent, according to the province's weekly update last Tuesday. Cases were up 32 per cent compared to the previous week.Dr. Lynora Saxinger, an infectious disease specialist, said that while the data is somewhat concerning, it isn't "panic-inducing.""This is a difficult kind of 'in-between time' because I don't think we're quite at the point of saying that COVID is like the other respiratory viruses. But it is not the same threat that it was in 2020, 2021, because we do have very good vaccination rates," she said on Compass earlier this week."If you're up-to-date on your vaccines, if you've been vaccinated or infected within the last few months or so, you can feel reasonably confident that you can behave in a fairly normal fashion."But Saxinger said some caution is still warranted and that while it may be a tough decision for most jurisdictions, reimposing mask mandates could help ease some of the strain in the health-care system."I actually think that masking indoors for the foreseeable future is a completely responsible thing to do," she said. "It really does need to be on the table to put mask requirements back in place."Saxinger said promoting booster shots in the summer ahead of the return to schools in the fall as to avoid an epidemic of multiple respiratory viruses also makes sense.Last week, P.E.I. announced anyone who is over 12 years old can get a second booster.In the meantime, Gardam said that hospitals are treating those with serious issues quickly, and it is only those with more simpler problems will have to wait for longer.The provincial health authority warned of longer wait times at emergency departments across the Island ahead of Canada Day because of staffing problems."People ... are coming in for more minor issues because they don't have a primary-care provider, and that's sort of their one option on the weekend," said Gardam."This is something that's happening across the country right now. A little more than a week after telling Quebecers it was too soon to say if a seventh wave of COVID-19 had begun in the province, the continued surge in cases and hospitalizations since then has changed the mind of the province's public health director."For me, it's a seventh wave," said Dr. Luc Boileau. "It's a surge that's taking the shape of a wave," acknowledging his claim still needs to be confirmed by Quebec's public health institute (INSPQ).This wave is the province's first since the removal of virtually all public health restrictions, including mandatory masking on public transit.The number of COVID-19 patients in Quebec hospitals has grown more by more than 50 per cent, from 1,007 to 1,534 in the last month.Boileau said that the growing number of COVID-19 patients could peak in the coming weeks, and he doesn't believe the situation will continue to worsen throughout the summer.But despite the speed with which COVID-19 hospitalizations have increased in recent weeks, the province doesn't plan to impose new public health restrictions."There's no specific announcement [today]. I don't want anyone to get worried," said Health Minister Christian Dubé at a news conference Thursday. "We're no longer at the point of imposing things when people are well aware of the risks. It's just a question of reminding them."Dubé and Boileau — in their first joint COVID-19 update in months — stressed that Quebecers must respect isolation rules and avoid gatherings after testing positive for the virus.They urge people to isolate for five days once symptoms appear and to only resume essential activities while wearing a mask for five additional days, as long as their condition has improved.It is important to avoid going to restaurants and festivals or visiting friends during this period, the public health director said."Clearly, there are a lot of people that are not respecting the isolation period," said Boileau."The situation is under control, but we have to remain careful," Dubé said.Boileau and Dubé are also once again asking Quebecers in at-risk populations, including people over the age of 60, to get their a fourth COVID-19 vaccine dose if it's been at least three months since their third shot.The Health Ministry has prepared a chart to help people decide if and when they should get vaccinated again.So far, only 55 per cent of eligible Quebecers have received their third dose, according to public health data.On Thursday, the province reported 1,755 confirmed cases, which is most certainly an underestimate, given the limited availability of PCR testing.Quebec stopped providing the tests to the general public in January during the Omicron wave. On Thursday, Dubé said there are no plans to expand the use of those PCR tests.Why no mask rule in pharmacies?Although the government insists new public health restrictions are not needed, it should consider imposing rules that can help limit the spread of the virus without putting a burden on the population, said Dr. Matthew Oughton, an attending physician in the infectious diseases division at the Jewish General Hospital.He acknowledged that would not be easy."It will be difficult for the government to make an announcement about widespread reinstitution of measures, given a lot of pushback and resistance," Oughton said.He applauded the province for maintaining mandatory mask rules in health-care settings, but said masks should also be required in pharmacies, where people often go to receive health services."Think about how important pharmacies have become to our societal response to COVID," he said. "Where do you to go get a rapid antigen test? At the pharmacy. Where do you go get vaccinated? Often, at a pharmacy.""I think we should recognize that pharmacies have a high chance of having people who are either sick or at risk of becoming sick."

A ruling by the Lod District Court has upended the religious status quo in Israel and could augur a marriage revolution in the Jewish state.In a decision published on Friday, Judge Efrat Fink ruled that the Population and Immigration Authority of the Interior Ministry is obligated to register as married couples who wed through an online civil marriage service carried out under the auspices of the US state of Utah.The decision means that Israeli couples can now get married in civil ceremonies without leaving the country, granting a de facto victory to advocates in the decades-long struggle for civil marriage in Israel.Orthodox political parties have long fought efforts to institute civil marriage in Israel, citing their religious objections to the state sanctioning interfaith marriages and other unions prohibited by Jewish law.Friday’s ruling in effect circumvents the political roadblock, making civil marriage available to all Israelis without having to travel outside the country. It swiftly invoked the ire of Orthodox politicians, who denounced it as “undermining” the Jewish character of the state.Israeli law only allows for marriage through Israel’s established religious institutions — e.g., the rabbinate for Jews, sharia courts for Muslims — meaning that hundreds of thousands of Israeli citizens cannot get married in Israel due to various religious barriers.Although couples have been able to marry in civil ceremonies abroad and have them registered by the Population Authority for nearly six decades, this process involves considerable expense and inconvenience.In December 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, several Israeli couples got married through an online marriage service provided by Utah County, in Utah.When these couples approached the Population and Immigration Authority to register as married their requests were approved, but then-interior minister Aryeh Deri, the leader of the ultra-Orthodox Shas party, later froze the process and ordered a legal review of the issue.Other couples who had married through Utah’s service then filed lawsuits against the Interior Ministry demanding that their marriages also be approved.The ministry published the legal opinion ordered by Deri in June 2021, arguing that since the couples were located in Israel at the time of their marriages, Israeli law applies to them and their marriages were therefore invalid.By then, senior Yamina politician Ayelet Shaked had replaced Deri as interior minister, but she declined to intervene on the matter and did not offer an opinion.In its decision on Friday, the Lod District Court ruled that the location of an online service is a highly complex issue — beyond what a Population Authority clerk is authorized to deal with.The court went further, ruling that the only issue relevant for officials in the Population Authority is the validity of the documentation provided to them.“When it became clear that the marriage certificate confirms that the applicants were married in a ceremony recognized by the State of Utah, and that the certificate was issued by an authority authorized to do so, the clerk should have been instructed to carry out the registration,” wrote the judge.Although Israel has no provision for civil marriage, the Interior Ministry has been required to register as married couples who wedded in civil services performed abroad since a Supreme Court ruling on the issue in 1963.In 2019, 9,950 couples who married abroad in which at least one spouse was an Israeli citizen were registered as married by the Interior Ministry.But traveling abroad to get married became all but impossible during the pandemic, leaving thousands of people without any marriage option for an indefinite period of time.In December 2019, Utah County launched its “remote appearance marriage” ceremonies as part of its efforts to streamline a series of administrative services for its residents.Although Utah County officials never intended to facilitate civil marriage for foreign couples, Burt Harvey, the division manager of public services and tax administration for the Utah County Clerk Auditor, said he was happy that the county’s services would help those outside of the state and indeed the country.Vlad Finkelshtein, an attorney who represented the couples in the lawsuit at the Lod District Court, welcomed the decision, describing it as a victory for human rights in Israel.“The court made it crystal clear that any couple with a valid marriage certificate along with an apostille is entitled to get registered as married, and the location of the couple inside the Israeli borders is irrelevant for registration at the registration authority,” said Finkelshtein, whose WedinSea organization facilitates such marriages.Rabbi Uri Regev, director of the Hiddush religious freedom organization, also praised the decision, describing it as “an opportunity for hundreds of thousands of Israeli couples who are either unable to marry in Israel due to the Orthodox Rabbinate’s monopoly on marriage of all Jews in Israel, or who are unwilling to marry through the Rabbinate for reasons of conscience.”Orthodox MK Shlomo Karhi of the Likud party denounced the court’s decision, saying it “gnawed at the Jewish and democratic character” of the state, and vowed to change the law to circumvent the ruling.MK Avi Maoz of the ultra-conservative Religious Zionist Party, said it was “unthinkable for judges in the State of Israel to undermine the Jewish state and carry out a quiet revolution to turn the State of Israel into a state of all its citizens. Ya’ari said Al-Issa, who has invited rabbis to Saudi Arabia and has visited Yeshiva University in New York, is known in the country as the “Zionist imam.”The speech came days ahead of US President Joe Biden’s visit to Israel and Saudi Arabia this week, and amid expectations that the trip will feature steps toward a further warming in ties between the two countries. 24 And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

ISAIAH 28:14-19 (THIS IS THE 7 YR TREATY COVENANT OF DANIEL 9:27)
14 Wherefore hear the word of the LORD, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.
15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.
19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.
DANIEL 8:23-25
23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king (EU DICTATOR) of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences,(FROM THE OCCULT) shall stand up.
24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power:(SATANS POWER) and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes;(JESUS) but he shall be broken without hand.DANIEL 11:36-40
36 And the king shall do according to his will;(EU PRESIDENT) and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.

38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces:(HES A MILITARY GINIUS) and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds (CONTROL HEZBOLLAH,AL-QUAIDA MURDERERS ETC) with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many,(HIS ARMY LEADERS) and shall divide the land for gain.
40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south(EGYPT) push at him:(EU DICTATOR PROTECTING ISRAELS SECURITY) and the king of the north(RUSSIA) shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
ZECHARIAH 14:12-13
