600 Conservative rabbis demand PM honor Western Wall agreement-SEP 11,17-TOI

A letter signed by nearly 600 Conservative rabbis and leaders decries the freezing of the Western Wall agreement and a new conversion proposal in the Knesset. The letter expresses the signers’ “dismay, anger and sense of betrayal” over both incidents which took place in late June and remain unresolved. The letter addressed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was hand-delivered late last week to Dani Dayan, Consul General of Israel in New York, by Rabbi Steven Wernick, CEO of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, and Rabbi Julie Schonfeld, CEO of the Rabbinical Assembly.“Mr. Prime Minister, we are Zionists,” the letter reads. “You must understand, however, that in the 21st century we find it unconscionable that Israel, the Jewish State, is the only democratic state in the world in which not all Jews are recognized or supported equally under the law or in the public square.”— JTA.

Israeli satellite images show damage to Syrian weapons facility-New pictures show impact, geo-strategic sensitivity of airstrike attributed to Israel on an Assad regime site where chemical weapons, missiles said produced-By Judah Ari Gross    September 10, 2017, 4:19 pm-TOI

An Israeli satellite imaging company released photographs on Sunday showing the effects of last week’s airstrike on a Syrian weapons base that was attributed to the Israeli Air Force.Early Thursday morning, the Syrian military’s Scientific Studies and Research Center (CERS) facility near Masyaf, in the northwestern Hama province, was hit from the air, damaging several buildings and killing two Syrian soldiers.Western officials have long associated the CERS facility with the production of precision missiles, as well as chemical weapons. In a statement, Syrian leader Bashar Assad’s military said, “Israeli warplanes fired several rockets from the Lebanese airspace at 02:42 a.m. on Thursday targeting one of the Syrian military posts near Massyaf, killing two army personnel and causing material damage to the site.”Satellite images, provided by ImageSat International, show the extent of the damage to the site. While the buildings that were hit in the strike still appear to be standing, their roofs are mostly or entirely destroyed and debris can be seen scattered around them.An additional satellite photograph showed the base’s proximity to an alleged Iran-backed missile production facility and a Russian S-400 missile defense system.Over the past five years, Israel has carried out dozens of airstrikes within Syria, though it rarely acknowledges specific attacks.Israel says it maintains a hands-off policy toward the Syrian civil war, only getting involved when one of its “red lines” is transgressed. These “red lines” include the violation of Israeli sovereignty through deliberate or accidental attacks, Iranian-supported militias taking positions on the Golan border, and attempts to transfer advanced weapons to the Hezbollah terrorist group.Though Israel has not confirmed its involvement in the Thursday morning airstrike, analysts believe the attack on the Syrian military facility was carried out in order to prevent precision-guided missiles from reaching Hezbollah’s hands.Syrian opposition forces have in recent months claimed the Masyaf site, and other CERS facilities, have been working on a joint projects with Iranian specialists to develop chemical weapons capability for missiles. In April the Trump administration placed sanctions on hundreds of CERS employees following a chemical attack on the Syrian rebel-held city of Khan Sheikhoun that killed dozens of civilians, including children. On Wednesday, a report by a UN war crimes commission said it had clear evidence that the Syrian regime was behind the attack and that it had used sarin nerve gas.In 2005, then US president George W. Bush placed sanction on CERS, alleging it was producing weapons of mass destruction.Five years later, in September 2010, the director of the Israeli National Security Council’s Counter-Terrorism Bureau said that CERS facilities would be destroyed if the agency continued to provide weapons to terror groups.Brig.-Gen. (res) Nitzan Nuriel, speaking at a summit at the International Institute for Counter-Terrorism, said CERS was providing weapons to Hezbollah and the Palestinian terror group Hamas, and called on the international community to target it if it didn’t end its support for terrorism. In February 2013, US intelligence officials told The New York Times that an alleged Israeli airstrike on a Lebanon-bound convoy carrying advanced anti-aircraft weapons days earlier may have inadvertently hit the central CERS research center for developing chemical and biological weapons.Israel has for years been widely believed to have carried out airstrikes on advanced weapons systems in Syria — including Russian-made anti-aircraft missiles and Iranian-made missiles — as well as Hezbollah positions. In August a former commander of Israel’s air force said that it had carried out dozens of airstrikes on weapons convoys destined for the Hezbollah over the past five years. The remarks by Maj. Gen. Amir Eshel revealed for the first time the scale of the strikes, which are usually neither confirmed nor denied by the IAF.The most famous Israeli strike in Syria took place almost exactly 10 years ago, on September 6, 2007, when IAF aircraft bombed a suspected nuclear reactor in Deir Ezzor.Hezbollah fired more than 4,000 rockets on Israeli communities during its latest war with Israel in 2006. Since Tuesday, tens of thousands of Israeli soldiers have been staging a mock 10-day war against Hezbollah in northern Israel, marking the IDF’s largest exercise in nearly 20 years, the army announced Monday, amid tensions over growing Iranian influence in Syria and Lebanon.Times of Israel staff and agencies contributed to this report.

French minister slams ‘anti-Semitic’ attack on Jewish family-Gerard Collomb vows to arrest men who assaulted family in their home for being Jews who 'have money'-By JTA-September 11, 2017, 5:37 pm-TOI

France’s Interior Minister Gerard Collomb condemned an anti-Semitic attack in which a French Jewish leader and his family were assaulted in their home. The statement issued over the weekend by Collomb’s office reiterated the French government’s determination “to do everything to combat every form of racism and anti-Semitism, which have no place in the French Republic.”Collomb’s statement expressed his “indignation’’ about the attack, which took place Thursday night, and said that “according to initial indications, the motivation for this cowardly act seems to be directly related to the religion of the victim.”“Everything will be done to identify and arrest those who carried out this foul attack,” the statement also said.In the attack, three men, two of whom were wearing masks, broke into the home of Roger Pinto, the president of Siona, a group that represents Sephardic Jews — descendants of the Jewish people who were expelled from the Iberian peninsula in the 15th century during a period of Catholic zeal. The attackers beat Pinto’s son and wife in the home in the northeastern suburb of Livry Gargan, the Dreuz news website reported Sunday. One of the attackers said, “You Jews have money,” according to the family members. The Pintos were taken to hospital for treatment. They suffered some minor injuries and were deeply traumatized, the report said. The incident, one of several cases in France in recent years in which criminals apparently singled out Jews based on the belief that they have money, provoked passionate condemnations from the CRIF umbrella group of French Jewish communities and the National Bureau of Vigilance Against Anti-Semitism. Both groups said the incident was an anti-Semitic attack. The European Jewish Congress called on French authorities “to firmly root out societal anti-Semitism and its passive acceptance.”Les victimes de l’attaque antisémite à Seine Saint Denis sont Roger Pinto, Président de… https://t.co/VGuMgEwExL pic.twitter.com/teGtfJ6OBJ— Alyaexpress-News (@AlyaexpressNews) September 10, 2017“We appreciated the important words of the French Government in trying to make Jews feel safe in their country,” Dr. Moshe Kantor, president of the EJC, said in a statement. “However, it doesn’t appear that much has changed on the ground for French Jews who are still regularly attacked.”

Pope blasts climate change doubters, says moral duty to act-TOI-SEP 11,17

Pope Francis sharply criticizes climate change doubters, saying history will judge those who failed to take the necessary decisions to curb heat-trapping emissions blamed for the warming of the Earth.Francis is asked about climate change and the spate of hurricanes that have pummeled the US, Mexico and the Caribbean recently as his charter plane left Colombia and flew over some of the devastated areas.“Those who deny this must go to the scientists and ask them. They speak very clearly,” he says, referring to experts who blame global warming on man-made activities.Francis says scientists have also clearly charted what needed to be done to reverse course on global warming and said individuals and politicians had a “moral responsibility” to do their part.“These aren’t opinions pulled out of thin air. They are very clear,” he said. “Then they (leaders) decide and history will judge those decisions.”For those who have denied climate change, or delayed actions to counter it, he responded with an Old Testament saying: “Man is stupid.”“When you don’t want to see, you don’t see,” he says.— AP

North Korea nukes came with help from Iran or Russia – report-Senior British officials quoted saying Pyongyang could not have made such rapid progress alone-By TOI staff and AFP    September 10, 2017, 6:16 pm-TOI

British officials reportedly suspect that North Korea was able to develop its nuclear arsenal quicker than expected due to help from Iran and possibly Russia.“It is not credible that North Korean scientists alone brought about the technological advances,” government sources told the UK’s Sunday Telegraph. The sudden surge in technological capability by the Pyongyang regime reportedly points to help from elsewhere.“North Korean scientists are people of some ability, but clearly they’re not doing it entirely in a vacuum,” an unnamed government minister told the paper.British authorities suspect that Iran has offered behind-the-scenes technological assistance for Pyongyang’s nuclear program, though others think that Russia may have provided some of the know-how.“There is currently an investigation into exactly how the country has managed to make this leap in technological ability,” UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said last week. “We are looking at the possible role that may have been played, inadvertently or otherwise, by some current and former nuclear states.”North Korean carried out its sixth nuclear test last week, and South Korea has voiced fears that it may test a ballistic missile in the coming days.NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Sunday that North Korea’s nuclear and missile program represented a “global threat and requires a global response,” though he refused to say whether an attack on the Pacific US territory of Guam would trigger the military alliance’s collective defense clause.“The reckless behavior of North Korea is a global threat and requires a global response, and that of course also includes NATO,”told the BBC’s “The Andrew Marr Show.”“We call on Korea to abandon its nuclear programs, it’s missile programs, and to refrain from more testing, because this is a blatant violation of several UN security resolutions and it’s a threat to international peace and stability.”Asked whether a strike against Guam would be covered under the clause that commits NATO members to come to the defense of each other, he said: “I will not speculate about whether Article Five will be applied in such a situation. What I will say is we are now totally focused on how can we contribute to a peaceful solution of the conflict.”German Chancellor Angela Mergel voiced support for a diplomatic push to end North Korean nuclear weapons and missile development along the lines of a past deal with Iran.“I would say yes immediately if we were asked to join talks,” Merkel told weekly newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung.Talks between Iran and six world powers, sealed with a 2015 deal for Tehran to roll back its nuclear program and submit to inspections in exchange for some sanctions being rolled back, were “a long but important period of diplomacy” that had achieved a “good end,” she added.“I could imagine such a format for the settlement of the North Korea conflict. Europe and especially Germany ought to be ready to make a very active contribution,” Merkel said.

North Korea warns ‘thirsty beast’ US of harsh response to any new sanctions-US, China readying fresh restrictions, possibly targeting oil imports, to punish Pyongyang for ongoing nuclear, missile programs-By Eric Talmadge-September 11, 2017, 9:05 am-TOI

TOKYO, Japan (AP) — North Korea says it will make the United States pay a heavy price if a proposal Washington is backing to impose the toughest sanctions ever on Pyongyang is approved by the UN Security Council this week. The North’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement early Monday saying it is watching the United States’ moves closely and threatened it is “ready and willing” to respond with measures of its own.The United States has called for a vote Monday, New York time, on new UN sanctions against North Korea.Last Tuesday, the US circulated a draft resolution proposing the toughest-ever UN sanctions on North Korea, including a ban on all oil and natural gas exports to the country and a freeze on all foreign financial assets of the government and its leader, Kim Jong Un.Security Council diplomats, who weren’t authorized to speak publicly because talks have been private, said the US and China were still negotiating the text late Sunday.Previous UN sanctions resolutions have been negotiated between the United States and China, and have taken weeks or months. But the Trump administration is demanding a vote in six days.“The US is trying to use the DPRK’s legitimate self-defensive measures as an excuse to strangle and completely suffocate it,” the statement said, using the acronym for North Korea’s formal name. “Since the US is revealing its nature as a blood-thirsty beast obsessed with the wild dream of reversing the DPRK’s development of the state nuclear force which has already reached the completion phase, there is no way that the DPRK is going to wait and let the US feast on it.”North Korea conducted its sixth nuclear test a week ago and has been launching ballistic missiles at a record pace. Both are violations of UN resolutions, but Pyongyang claims it must carry them out to build nuclear deterrent against what it sees as US aggression.Undaunted by the international criticism of its test, which Pyongyang says was of a hydrogen bomb, Pyongyang celebrated through the weekend, with concerts and banquets for the country’s nuclear scientists and engineers.Blocking textile exports and cutting off the flow of oil from China would potentially be crippling measures. North Korea gets nearly all of its oil supply from China, with a much smaller amount coming from Russia or the open market.According to a recent study by the Nautilus Institute think tank, a massive cutback in the flow of oil from China would definitely hurt the North Korean economy, and especially average citizens. But the report said the impact would likely be blunted on the military, which probably has enough fuel stockpiled to continue normal operations for the immediate future.Russian President Vladimir Putin recently expressed doubt over whether sanctions are an effective means of getting the North to stop its missile and nuclear testing, and China, harboring similar concerns, has repeatedly hesitated in the past to fully support US sanction plans.German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Sunday also stressed the importance of diplomacy and offered to act as a facilitator if needed.“If our participation in talks is wanted, I will say yes immediately,” she said in an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Sonntagszeitung newspaper that was published Sunday. The five permanent members of the UN Security Council and Germany conducted long-running talks with Iran that led to a 2015 deal for international sanctions to be lifted in exchange for Tehran curbing its nuclear activities.“I could also imagine such a format to settle the North Korea conflict,” she said.

Intelligence minister urges PM to lobby Trump for Iran deal do-over-At anti-terror confab, Yisrael Katz warns Tehran is establishing itself militarily in Syria, and still on track to become a nuclear power-By Judah Ari Gross-September 11, 2017, 4:45 pm-TOI

Intelligence Minister Yisrael Katz said on Monday that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should ask US President Donald Trump to change or cancel the Iran deal during an upcoming visit to New York, amid speculation that the White House plans to declare Iran non-compliant without dismantling the landmark pact.During a speech at a counterterrorism conference, Katz also said Tehran is establishing itself in Syria with “bases, airports and tens of thousands” of fighters in Shiite militias, which threaten Israel. The intelligence minister warned that “Iran is the new North Korea. We need to work against it today so that we don’t regret tomorrow what we should have done yesterday.”Katz pilloried the 2015 nuclear agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, which he said “protects Iran’s ability to get nuclear capabilities in the future.”He said Trump needs to adhere to the assurances he made, regarding Iran and the JCPOA.“Iran needs to be forced to sign a new agreement, one that will never let it advance to nuclear weapons, as President Trump promised, and which will also include the issues of missiles and Iran’s support of terror,” he said.Education Minister Naftali Bennett also called for the Iran deal to be canceled, “without a doubt.”Bennett said it should be made clear to the world that “either you can do business with the US or with Iran. You can’t have both.”The two ministers comments came hours after the International Atomic Energy Agency reported that Iran was abiding by the terms of the JCPOA.Trump railed against the pact while campaigning for president but has so far stuck to the deal. However, he has indicated he will declare Iran to be non-compliant when he is requires to submit a twice-yearly report to Congress in October, a move that could lead to the US ultimately pulling out of the seven-nation agreement.Reached in 2015 after years of negotiations, the JCPOA lifts punishing sanctions on Iran in exchange for the Islamic Republic rolling back part of its nuclear program. Israeli leaders vociferously opposed the deal, which they said was unenforceable and allowed Iran to continue supporting terror and other destabilizing activity around the world.Katz, who also serves as transportation minister, said Iran is in the process of signing an agreement with Syrian leader Bashar Assad that would allow it to maintain military infrastructure in the country for the long term. Israel has long accused Iran of seeking a foothold near the Golan Heights via Shiite militias, including Lebanese proxy Hezbollah.“I say this as a fact: Assad is in the process of signing an agreement,” he said.“These militias, who come from around the Middle East, are meant to threaten Israel and open up another northern front,” he said.If Iran is not stopped from establishing itself in Syria, “a naval port, an airport and Iranian military bases could be built” there, he said.Katz said that while Iran’s nuclear weapons development program is on hold, the country is still actively working to improve its ballistic missile and rocket technology, specifically making them more precise.Katz said the United States and other western countries need to focus on blocking Iran from establishing hegemony in the region, which he said was the rising threat to world stability, following the Islamic State’s recent battlefield losses in Syria and Iraq.He said Israel has to uphold its “red lines” regarding Syria, namely preventing advanced weapons from reaching Hezbollah and ensuring that Iran-backed militias are not allowed to set up on the Golan border. The minister added that Israel does already have partners in this effort, in what he described as “moderate Sunni countries,” which is generally believed to mean Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states.“We have a shared vision with the moderate Sunni countries, on everything that has to do with Iran and its emissaries in the region,” he said. The remarks were made at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya’s International Institute for Counter-Terrorism’s annual conference.Iran featured prominently in the remarks made by Israeli officials.Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman, who spoke briefly at the conference, noted a significant increase in Iran’s defense spending, following the 2015 Iran deal. The budget of the country’s Iranian Revolutionary Guards “increased by 40 percent,” he said. This increase in defense spending trickled down to the terrorist groups that are supported by Iran, namely Hezbollah and Hamas, Liberman said. The defense minister credited the Islamic Republic with being ultimately responsible for the lion’s share of the terrorism happening today.Ousted former Trump national security adviser Sebastian Gorka and former French prime minister Manuel Valls are slated to speak later Monday.

Avoid Sinai and Turkey, Israeli holiday travelers told-Ahead of High Holidays, Counter-Terrorism Bureau warns vacationers that terror groups are likely to target crowded places, transportation hubs-By TOI staff    September 11, 2017, 3:46 pm

Israeli authorities on Monday issued severe travel warnings urging Israeli travelers to avoid places where they would be prime targets for jihadist terrorists, including Turkey and much of the Middle East.Hundreds of thousands of Israelis are expected to travel overseas during the parade of Jewish holidays which starts with the Jewish new year on September 20 and ends with the Sukkot festival, from October 4 to 12, when most travelers head abroad. The Counter-Terrorism Bureau in the Prime Minister’s Office, which issues the warnings ahead of most holiday seasons, noted that the list includes some of the most popular tourist destinations for Israelis, including the Sinai Peninsula and Turkey.Warnings were also in effect for Jordan and the rest of Egypt. In all those places, terror groups are known to be planning attacks in crowded areas, and may be looking to target areas where large groups of vacationing Israelis are likely to be found. The most severe warning is for the Sinai, where beachfront tourist venues have long drawn many tens of thousands of Israelis during prime vacation periods. The Bureau noted that Sinai was struck by Islamist terror as recently as mid-April, when Islamic State gunmen attacked a checkpoint near Saint Catherine’s Monastery in the peninsula, only one of countless recent incidents of bloodshed in an ongoing Islamist insurgency. On Thursday, 18 Egyptian police were killed in an attack in northern Sinai.Israelis should avoid travel to Sinai in the foreseeable future, and leave the peninsula immediately if they are already there, the warning stated.Turkey, too, came in for special mention, with the warning noting that Istanbul and other Turkish cities have been the target of a wave of both Islamist and Kurdish separatist terror attacks in recent years, and that Israeli institutions have been especially targeted on occasion. The Bureau urged Israelis to remain vigilant wherever they travel, noting that terrorists have struck recently in Western European capitals and in North America as well.Vigilance is especially important in areas frequented by large crowds, such as sports stadiums, popular tourist sites and public transportation hubs, the warning said.

Arab League forms committee to foil Israeli bid for UNSC membership-PA official says Ramallah working to prevent African states from voting for Israel-By Dov Lieber-September 10, 2017, 8:28 pm-TOI

The Arab League on Sunday agreed to a request from the Palestinian Authority to form a committee aimed at stymieing Israel’s bid to becoming a member of the United Nations Security Council, a Palestinian official said.Israel has said it will vie for a seat on the 15-member panel for 2019-2020, the first time the Jewish state has tried to win a spot on the UN’s most powerful forum.Elections for the 2019-2020 seats will be held in the summer of 2018.Palestinian ambassador to Cairo Jamal al-Shobaki, who is also the representative for the PA in the Arab League, said that five Arab bodies would work together to foil Israel’s bid, according to the PA’s official new site Wafa. They are: the Presidency of the Arab Summit, the Presidency of the Ministerial Council, the Palestinian Authority, the Secretary General of the Arab League and Egypt, which is currently  the only Arab state member on the UNSC.Shobaki made these comments on the sidelines of a closed session of the Arab League Council in Cairo.Israel has been publicly eyeing a seat on the important world body since at least 2013.Jerusalem is planning to apply for one of two spots allocated to the Western European and Other Group (WEOG), to which it was admitted in 2000.Fight over African votes-A key battle will be in Africa, where Israel has been deepening its ties in recent years. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has visited Africa twice over the last year, making strengthening ties with the continent one of his main foreign policy goals. Besides seeking new markets for Israeli agriculture, hi-tech and security know-how, the prime minister was also keen to improve African nations’ voting record on Israel-related matters in international forums, such as the UNSC or the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).“There must be intensive Arab efforts to prevent Israel from obtaining membership in the Security Council and getting the votes of African countries,” Shobaki said.“Arabs and Africans share historical and cultural relations, and the [African countries] have a major role in supporting the Palestinian cause. The majority…will maintain their historic support,” he added.Togo, which is a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), is organizing an Africa-Israel summit, which is scheduled for October 23-27 in the capital Lome. Togo is set to invite all 54 countries on the continent to the event, but the Palestinians, Morocco and South Africa are actively seeking to derail the gathering. Shobaki said on Sunday that there is a draft resolution submitted to the Arab League Council both by the Palestinians and Saudi Arabia “in connection” to this planned summit. In December, during the first-ever visit to Kazakhstan by a sitting Israeli prime minister, Netanyahu asked the Muslim country to support Israel’s bid at the UN.“My hope is, and I say this to all our friends, that the great partnership that we are building here will also be reflected in international forums like the UN. That’s beginning to happen. The ship doesn’t move overnight; we understand that it’s a big ship. But it’s going to change, it’s changing already,” Netanyahu told Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev. He added,“Now, if you want a real change in the world, imagine the State of Israel on the Security Council of the United Nations — that’s a change.”Raphael Ahren contributed to this report.

Irma knocks out power to nearly 6 million: authorities-[Reuters]-By Scott DiSavino-YAHOONEWS-September 11, 2017

(Reuters) - Hurricane Irma knocked out power to about 5.8 million homes and businesses in Florida, even as the storm weakened as it crept up the state's west coast, according to state officials and local electric utilities.Irma hit Florida on Sunday morning as a dangerous Category 4 hurricane, the second-highest level on the five-step Saffir-Simpson scale. It gradually lost strength and weakened to a tropical storm by Monday morning as it headed toward Georgia, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said at 8 a.m. EDT (1200 GMT).Maximum sustained winds were at 70 miles (110 km) per hour, the forecaster said.Power losses in Georgia, which were at about 152,000 as of 8:45 a.m. EDT, were expected to increase as the storm moved north. In Florida, the state's biggest electric company said its outages came to more than 3.6 million by 8:30 a.m. on Monday. A total of 4.2 million Florida Power & Light customers have been affected, with about 570,000 getting service restored, mostly by automated devices.Full restoration of power could take weeks in many areas due to expected damage to FPL's system, the NextEra Energy Inc unit said.As the storm pushed north, outage figures were increasing at other large utilities, including units of Duke Energy Corp, Southern Co and Emera Inc.Duke's outages jumped to more than 860,000 overnight; the company said they could ultimately exceed 1 million. Emera's Tampa Electric utility reported 300,000 homes and businesses lost power by Monday morning.FPL said its two nuclear plants were safe. Both units at its Turkey Point facility, located about 30 miles (48 km) south of Miami, were shut by early Monday. The company closed Turkey Point's Unit 3 on Saturday as Irma approached the coast but decided not shut Unit 4 at that time because the hurricane track shifted away from the plant toward the western part of the Florida Peninsula. FPL, however, shut Unit 4 on Sunday night due to a possible valve issue that was probably not related to Irma, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials said on Monday. At its St Lucie nuclear plant located about 120 miles (190 km) north of Miami, FPL started to reduce power at Unit 1 due to salt buildup from Irma in the switchyard, NRC spokesman Roger Hannah said. The plant's other reactor, Unit 2, continued to operate at full power.Duke's retired Crystal River plant, about 90 miles (145 km) north of Tampa, has spent nuclear fuel, but Hannah said that was not a problem. As the storm loomed and came ashore, gasoline stations struggled to keep up as people evacuated Florida. In the Atlanta metropolitan area, about 13.2 percent of stations were out of the fuel, according to information service Gas Buddy.Irma is expected to sap demand for fuel for a time, Goldman Sachs analysts said in a note on Monday, but they cautioned that supply could remain strained due to refining capacity offline in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, which hit Texas two weeks ago.(Reporting by Scott DiSavino and Jessica Resnick-Ault in New York; Additional reporting by Ruthy Munoz in Houston; Editing by Frances Kerry and Lisa Von Ahn)

Tropical Storm Irma floods northern Florida cities after hammering south-[Reuters]-By Zachary Fagenson and Daniel Trotta-YAHOONEWS-September 11, 2017

MIAMI/KISSIMMEE, Fla. (Reuters) - Downgraded from a hurricane to a tropical storm, Irma flooded several northern Florida cities with heavy rain and a high storm surge on Monday as it headed out of the state after cutting power to millions and ripping roofs off homes.Irma, once ranked as one of the most powerful hurricanes recorded in the Atlantic, hit a wide swath of Florida over the past day, first making landfall on the Florida Keys archipelago and then coming ashore south of Naples before heading up the west coast. Now a tropical storm with sustained winds of up to 70 miles per hour (110 km per hour), Irma was located about 35 miles (56 km) west of Gainesville and headed up the Gulf Coast, the National Hurricane Center said at 8 a.m. ET (1200 GMT).The Cuban government reported on Monday that 10 people had been killed after Irma battered the island's north coast with ferocious winds and 36-foot (11-meter) waves over the weekend. This raised the overall death toll from Irma's powerful rampage through the Caribbean to 38.Northeastern Florida cities including Jacksonville were facing flash flooding, with the city's sheriff's office pulling residents from waist-deep water."Stay inside. Go up. Not out," Jacksonville's website warned residents. "There is flooding throughout the city and more rain is expected."-HEART-POUNDING NIGHT-After what she called a terrifying night bunkered in her house in St. Petersburg, on Florida's Gulf Coast, with her children and extended family, Julie Hally emerged with relief on Monday. The winds had toppled some large tree branches and part of a fence, but her house was undamaged."My heart just pounded out of my chest the whole time," said Hally, 37. "You hear stuff hitting your roof. It honestly sounds like somebody is just whistling at your window the whole night. It's really scary."Governor Rick Scott said he would travel later on Monday to the Florida Keys. Irma first came ashore at Cudjoe Key as a Category 4 hurricane with sustained winds of up to 130 mph (215 kph.)U.S. President Donald Trump in a ceremony at the Pentagon to remember the victims of the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks vowed a full response to Irma, as well as continued federal support for victims of Hurricane Harvey, which flooded Texas."These are storms of catastrophic severity and we are marshalling the full resources of the federal government to help our fellow Americans," Trump said. "When Americans are in need, Americans pull together and we are one country."The state's largest city, Miami, was spared the brunt of the storm but still saw heavy flooding. Utility crews were already on the streets there clearing downed trees and utility lines. All causeways leading to Miami Beach were closed by police. As it traveled through the center of the state early on Monday, Irma brought gusts of up to 100 mph (160 kph) and torrential rain to areas around Orlando, one of the most popular areas for tourism in Florida because of its cluster of theme parks, the National Weather Service said.A piece of a McDonald's "golden arch" sign hung in a tree near the fast-food restaurant in the central Florida city of Kissimmee on Monday morning. Valerie Gilleece, 55, had ridden out the storm in the city because her wheelchair-bound husband insisted on it, she said."I'm just thanking God to be alive," Gilleece said. "I wanted to go from the start but he's stubborn as hell."Over the weekend, Irma claimed its first U.S. fatality - a man found dead in a pickup truck that had crashed into a tree in high winds in the town of Marathon, in the Florida Keys, local officials said.During its passage through the Caribbean en route to Florida, Irma was ranked at the rare top end of the scale of hurricane intensity, a Category 5, for days. It carried maximum sustained winds of up to 185 mph (295 kph) when it crashed into the island of Barbuda on Wednesday.Ahead of Irma's arrival, some 6.5 million people in southern Florida, about a third of the state's population, were ordered to evacuate their homes. Some 200,000 were housed in shelters during the storm, according to federal officials.-DAMAGE ESTIMATES-The storm did some $20 billion to $40 billion in damage to insured property as it tore through Florida, catastrophe modeling firm AIR Worldwide estimated. That estimate, lower than earlier forecasts of up to $50 billion in insured losses, drove insurance company shares higher on Monday. Florida-based insurers Federated National, HCI Group and Universal Insurance were all up more than 12 percent. Meanwhile, Europe's insurance index was the biggest sectoral gainer, up 2 percent and set for its best day in more than four months.High winds snapped power lines and left about 5.8 million Florida homes and businesses without power, state data showed.Miami International Airport, one of the busiest in the country, halted passenger flights through at least Monday. According to the FlightAware.com tracking site, a total of 3,582 U.S. flights were canceled on Monday, mostly as a result of the storm.Irma was forecast to cross the eastern Florida Panhandle and move into southern Georgia later in the day, dumping as much as 16 inches (41 cm) of rain, government forecasters said.Police in Miami-Dade County said they had made 29 arrests for looting and burglary.(Additional reporting by Bernie Woodall, Ben Gruber and Andy Sullivan in Miami, Letitia Stein in Detroit, Colleen Jenkins in Winston-Salem, N.C., Doina Chiacu and Jeff Mason in Washington, Scott DiSavino in New York and Marc Frank in Havana; Writing by Scott Malone and Jon Herskovitz; Editing by Frances Kerry and Paul Simao)

Hurricane trash pile, removal costs could reach staggering levels-[Reuters]-By Bryan Sims-YAHOONEWS-September 11, 2017

HOUSTON (Reuters) - Even as Texas continues to marshal crews to handle Hurricane Harvey debris, Irma's move up the west coast of Florida on Monday promises to stress the effort and leave a combined bill near or topping the multi-billion dollar tab for Katrina, the largest to date.Officials insist they can manage two large cleanups at once. Throughout the weekend, disaster specialist AshBritt Inc, DRC Emergency Services and waste haulers, including Waste Management and municipal crews brought to Houston, were carting Harvey's rubble to dozens of Texas landfills.Texas disclosed about $136 million in federal funds were released to pay for initial efforts around Houston. The city's mayor, Sylvester Turner, had issued a call for heavy equipment operators to help, but a spokesman said the city has 64 crews at work or soon to arrive, "all the help we need.""It's going to stress the industry from an equipment standpoint," said John Sullivan, chief executive of DRC Emergency Services, said of the two Category 4 storms. His company will split specialized vehicles between Texas and Florida, relying on subcontractors with their own equipment. Clearing Texas's debris will take four to six months, he said. After Hurricane Katrina hit in 2005, the cleanup took about a year, said Hugh Kaufman, a retired EPA solid waste and emergency response analyst. The overall bill for Katrina was $2 billion, the largest to date, spanned several states and the demolition of the more than 23,000 homes in the New Orleans area alone. He thinks the combined clean-up tab will top Katrina's.The Gulf Coast bill "is going to be worse," estimated Kaufman. While Irma's shift west and weakening winds on Monday helped reduce its impact and likely bill, "There are a lot of question marks to know what the exact cost will be," he said, as the storm brings rain and wind to Georgia.Texas's tally of the cost of debris removal by affected counties from Harvey on Monday totaled $118 million, but many communities haven't yet provided estimates. Houston estimates the city's clean-up bill alone will run to $200 million. The scale of the effort isn't reassuring to residents living alongside the mess. Houston's fire chief on Saturday advised residents in severely affected areas to get tetanus shots."Our trash pile has been at our curb for going on two weeks and they aren't telling us when it's going to be picked up," said Melissa Brewer, 38, of Katy, Texas.Meanwhile, smaller businesses looking to hire crews for trash removal in Texas said Irma is affecting availability. "Everyone's shooting down to Florida," said Marcel Yanez, a Missouri contractor who visited Friendswood, south of Houston, for potential work. "The price point is higher," he said.Larger companies are reopening closed Texas facilities. "Our landfills are doubling in volume," said Marcel Darby, an operations director for Waste Management, which is running its landfills seven days a week.Residents say all the three major floods that hit Texas in recent years has given companies and officials the experience to move trash away quickly."They have had enough practice that they're getting quite efficient at it," said Bellaire, Texas, resident Mike McCorkle, 63. He took a break from repairing his home to gaze at the mountain of debris lining his street. "I think they'll need to do it fast because those trucks will be needed in Florida very soon."(Reporting by Bryan Sims and Nick Carey in Houston; Writing by Gary McWilliams and Nick Zieminski)

FPL shuts one reactor in Florida, reduces power at another after Irma-[Reuters]-YAHOONEWS-September 11, 2017

(Reuters) - Florida Power & Light shut Unit 4 at the Turkey Point nuclear power station in Florida Sunday night due to a likely valve issue, and is reducing power at Unit 1 at the St Lucie power plant due to salt build up in the switchyard, a spokesman at the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission said Monday. He could not say whether the Turkey Point 4 outage was related to Hurricane Irma, which battered Florida over the weekend, and he could not say whether FPC planned to shut or just reduce St Lucie 1.(Reporting by Scott DiSavino)

Irma's winds buckle three giant cranes in South Florida-[Reuters]-By Zach Fagenson-YAHOONEWS-September 10, 2017

MIAMI (Reuters) - Cranes at three South Florida high rises under construction collapsed in the face of heavy winds as Hurricane Irma ripped through the area on Sunday, days after authorities warned about dangers to cranes from the approaching storm. No injuries were reported in any of the three collapses, and investigations would begin after the storm cleared, officials said.Soon after one of the cranes collapsed, the chief executive of the company developing the building told Reuters he was attending the U.S. Open tennis tournament in New York when the accident occurred and had just learned about it."This particular crane, some of it was taken down," Jorge Perez, chief executive of The Related Group, Miami's largest developer, said by telephone. "They were surprised that it went down because they felt it was one of the more secure cranes, so we’re right on it."A video posted on Twitter showed the crane's boom dangling above the unfinished building.A crane at a Related Group project in Fort Lauderdale went down later on Sunday, Perez said. He had no immediate details about the incident.High winds also snapped the boom of a crane erected on top of a Miami apartment building under construction. The project was being developed by New York-based Property Markets Group, according to The Real Deal, a South Florida real estate news website. After the collapse, the boom was partly dangling on the side of the building, attached to the crane tower by a cable, photos on Twitter showed. Attempts to reach Property Markets Group offices in New York and Miami were unsuccessful.Miami had been in touch with Perez, but the state of Florida and the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration had jurisdiction over the cranes, City Manager Daniel Alfonso said. No one was immediately available to comment at OSHA or the governor's office. The National Weather Service recorded wind gusts in Miami reaching about 100 miles per hour (160 kph), with sustained winds of 50 to 60 mph (80 to 96 kph), as Irma moved up Florida's west coast. As Irma approached last week, Miami officials said 20 to 25 construction cranes were up across the city and that they were designed to withstand winds of 145 mph (235 kph).It warned that the cranes had to be unpinned, so that their horizontal booms could rotate on their support columns like a weather vane.(Additional reporting by Ian Simpson in Washington; Writing by Ian Simpson; Editing by Sandra Maler and Peter Cooney)

Aid on way to Irma-battered islands as death toll rises-[Associated Press]-ANDREA RODRIGUEZ and DESMOND BOYLAN-YAHOONEWS-September 11, 2017

HAVANA (AP) — With ports mended and weather cleared, Caribbean officials struggled Monday to get aid to islands devastated by Hurricane Irma and tried to take stock of the damage caused by the Category 5 storm. At least 34 people were reported to have been killed in the region, including 10 in Cuba, whose northern coast was raked by the storm. Cuban state media said most of those died in Havana, where seawater surged deep into residential neighborhoods. To the east, in the Leeward Islands known as the playground for the rich and famous, governments came under criticism for failing to respond quickly to the hurricane, which flattened many towns and turned lush, green hills to a brown stubble.Residents have reported food, water and medicine shortages, as well as looting.British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson defended his government's response to what he called an "unprecedented catastrophe" and promised to increase funding for the relief effort. Britain sent a navy ship and almost 500 troops to the British Virgin Islands, Anguilla and the Turks and Caicos islands that were pummeled by the hurricane. The U.S. government said it was sending a flight Monday to evacuate its citizens from St. Martin, one of the hardest-hit islands. Evacuees were warned to expect long lines and no running water at the airport.A Royal Caribbean Cruise Line ship was expected to dock near St. Martin to help in the aftermath, and a boat was bringing a 5-ton crane capable of unloading large shipping containers of aid. A French military ship was scheduled to arrive Tuesday with materials for temporary housing.About 70 percent of the beds at the main hospital in the French portion of St. Martin were severely damaged, and more than 100 people needing urgent medical care were evacuated. Eight of the territory's 11 pharmacies were destroyed, and Guadeloupe was sending medication.French President Emmanuel Macron was scheduled to arrive in St. Martin on Tuesday to bring aid and fend off criticism that he didn't do enough to respond to the storm. The "whole government is mobilized" to help, said Interior Minister Gerard Collomb.Soon after Irma killed 10 people on St. Martin, Category 4 Hurricane Jose threatened the area, halting evacuations for hours before heading out to sea and causing little additional damage. Also hit hard was Cuba, where central Havana neighborhoods along the coast between the Almendares River and the harbor suffered the worst flooding. Seawater penetrated as much as a half-kilometer (one-third of a mile) inland in some places.Cuban state media reported 10 deaths despite the country's usually rigorous disaster preparations. More than 1 million were evacuated from flood-prone areas.Hector Pulpito recounted a harrowing experience at his job as night custodian of a parking lot that flooded five blocks from the sea in Havana's Vedado neighborhood."This was the worst of the storms I have been through, and the sea rose much higher," Pulpito said. "The trees were shaking. Metal roofs went flying."Cuban state television reported severe damage to hotels on the northern keys off Ciego de Avila and Camaguey provinces. The Jardines del Rey airport serving the northern keys was destroyed, the Communist Party newspaper Granma reported, tweeting photos of a shattered terminal hall littered with debris.___Boylan reported from Caibarien, Cuba. Associated Press writer Danica Coto in San Juan, Puerto Rico, contributed.

Mexico rushes aid to millions after huge quake; death toll at 96-[Reuters]-YAHOONEWS-September 11, 2017

JUCHITAN, Mexico (Reuters) - A powerful earthquake that struck Mexico last week has left some 2.5 million people in need of aid and killed 96 others, authorities said on Monday, as officials rushed to get food and water to afflicted communities in the poor south.Oaxaca state governor Alejandro Murat told local television the death toll in his state had risen to 76. He said preliminary reports showed that at least 12,000 homes were damaged, and warned the number was likely to rise.Murat said 1 million people in Oaxaca needed food, water, electricity and help rebuilding damaged homes, while in neighboring Chiapas state, which was closest to the epicenter of the tremor, 1.5 million people were affected, according to officials."We are united in facing this humanitarian crisis," Murat said. The 8.1-magnitude quake off the coast of Chiapas rattled Mexico City and sowed destruction across the narrowest portion of Mexico on the isthmus of Tehuantepec.Sixteen people have been reported dead in Chiapas state and four in neighboring Tabasco. Many of the fatalities in Oaxaca were in the town of Juchitan, where more than 5,000 homes were destroyed. The quake, the most powerful earthquake to hit Mexico in over eight decades, was stronger than a 1985 temblor that killed thousands in Mexico City. However, its greater depth and distance kept the capital from being more serious damaged.President Enrique Pena Nieto on Friday declared three days of national mourning and pledged to rebuild shattered towns and villages.(Reporting by David Alire Garcia in Juchitan and Sheky Espejo in Mexico City; Editing by Jeffrey Benkoe)

Macron to 'rebuild' EU with citizen conventions-By Eric Maurice-EUOBSERVER

BRUSSELS, 8. Sep, 09:16-French president Emmanuel Macron wants to launch citizens' debates across Europe in order to "rebuild" the EU in a more democratic way."Europe can continue its destiny only if it is chosen and wanted," he said in Athens on Thursday (7 September). In a speech symbolically delivered in "the cradle of democracy", on the Pnyx hill, with the Acropolis behind him, the French leader called on Europeans to "have the courage to find again the path of democracy."He said that he wanted to organise a series of "democratic conventions" in the first half of 2018 in EU countries that were willing to do so.He explained that "the peoples of Europe will be consulted and will debate on principles proposed by the governments."Then a "roadmap for Europe in the next 10 or 15 years" would be elaborated upon the citizens' ideas.Referring to previously lost EU referendums in France, Netherlands, and Ireland, he noted that "the European project was turned down by peoples" but that those peoples "were not heard"."In Europe today, sovereignty, democracy, and trust are in danger," Macron said."We must rediscover the enthusiasm that the union was founded upon and change, not with technocrats and not with bureaucracy," he added.Macron's proposal on conventions was reminiscent of how he launched his own political career last year.He started with a questionnaire to citizens when he created his political movement, which helped him to make a "diagnosis" of voters' expectations ahead of the 2017 elections. His Athens gambit was also part of a strategy to shape EU politics, and to put France and Macron himself centre stage.Macron, who has met almost all EU leaders in recent weeks, has said he will soon make 10 "concrete propositions" to rebuild Europe. He intends to present them after the German elections on 24 September, but before German coalition talks start, so that they can be taken into account in the discussions to elaborate the next German government's programme.Macron gave some indications on Thursday of what he will propose. He said he was in favour of transnational lists for the European elections. He also said that he wanted a eurozone parliament "which would enable the creation of democratic responsibility."The strengthening of the eurozone will form the bulk of Macron's propositions.-Jab at IMF-Repeating ideas first aired last week, the French president said in Athens that he wanted a eurozone budget and a European finance minister. He added that the eurozone should have its own capacity to manage financial crises. He criticised the EU management of the Greek crisis, in particular its call to involve the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in 2010."I don't think it was the right method for the IMF to supervise European programmes and intervene in the way it did," he said, pleasing his Greek hosts."The IMF had no place in EU matters," Macron said.Macron, who received the Order of the Redeemer, Greece's highest decoration, said: "We still find in Greece the exacerbated problems Europe is suffering from."He called for debt relief for Greece and urged the IMF not to ask for new requirements to go down that path.

HOARDING OF GOLD AND SILVER

JAMES 5:1-3
1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

EZEKIEL 7:19
19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed:(CONFISCATED) their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

LUKE 2:1-3
1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed.

1 KINGS 10:13-14
13  And king Solomon gave unto the queen of Sheba all her desire, whatsoever she asked, beside that which Solomon gave her of his royal bounty. So she turned and went to her own country, she and her servants.
14  Now the weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred threescore and six talents of gold,

6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.(A DAYS WAGES FOR A LOAF OF BREAD)

EARTHQUAKES

EZEKIEL 37:7,11-14
7  So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.(POSSIBLE QUAKE BRINGS ISRAEL BACK TO LIFE-SO NOISE AND SHAKING-QUAKES WILL ALSO DESTROY ISRAELS ENEMIES)
11  Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel: behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
12  Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
13  And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
14  And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land: then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

MATTHEW 24:7-8
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.

MARK 13:8
8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom:(ETHNIC GROUP AGAINST ETHNIC GROUP) and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.

LUKE 21:11
11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places,(DIFFERNT PLACES AT THE SAME TIME) and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.

AS IRMA COMES ON FLORIDA THERE WILL BE MINOR TSUNAMIS ALL OVER AS THE WATERS RECEED THEN COME BACK ON THE AREAS WITH A VENGENCE OF FLOODING.

JEWISH KING JESUS IS COMING AT THE RAPTURE FOR US IN THE CLOUDS-DON'T MISS IT FOR THE WORLD.THE BIBLE TAKEN LITERALLY- WHEN THE PLAIN SENSE MAKES GOOD SENSE-SEEK NO OTHER SENSE-LEST YOU END UP IN NONSENSE.GET SAVED NOW- CALL ON JESUS TODAY.THE ONLY SAVIOR OF THE WHOLE EARTH - NO OTHER. 1 COR 15:23-JESUS THE FIRST FRUITS-CHRISTIANS RAPTURED TO JESUS-FIRST FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT-23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.ROMANS 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.(THE PRE-TRIB RAPTURE)

STORMS HURRICANES-TORNADOES

LUKE 21:25-26
25 And there shall be signs in the sun,(HEATING UP-SOLAR ECLIPSES) and in the moon,(MAN ON MOON-LUNAR ECLIPSES) and in the stars;(ASTEROIDS ETC) and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity;(MASS CONFUSION) the sea and the waves roaring;(FIERCE WINDS)
26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear,(TORNADOES,HURRICANES,STORMS) and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth:(DESTRUCTION) for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.(FROM QUAKES,NUKES ETC)

THE FIRST JUDGEMENT OF THE EARTH STARTED WITH WATER-IT ONLY MAKES SENSE THE LAST GENERATION WILL BE HAVING FLOODING
GENESIS 7:6-12
6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.
8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
GOD PROMISED BY A RAINBOW-THE EARTH WOULD NEVER BE DESTROYED TOTALLY WITH A FLOOD AGAIN.BUT FLOODIING IS A SIGN OF JUDGEMENT.

AS HURRICANE IRMA COMES IN ALL OVER FLORIDA. THE WATERS WILL BE RECEEDING OR GOING OFF SHORE. BUT THEN LATER ON ALL THAT WATER THAT RECEEDED WILL BE COMING BACK AS A MINOR TSUNAMI. AND ALL OVER FLORIDA WILL BE MINOR TSUNAMIS FLLODING ALL THE AREAS WERE THE WATER LEFT THE SHORES. THIS WILL BE DANGEROUS FOR PEOPLE IF THEY WANT TO GO OUT AND WATCH THE LAND BECOME RECVEEDED. BECAUSE AS IRMA CARRIES ON ALL THAT WATER WILL TSUNAMI BACK WERE THE WATER LEFT. AND IT WILL COME BACK WITH A VENGENCE AND FLOOD BIGTIME.

I NOW BELIEVE THAT IT WAS A WATER SURGE THAT GOD DECIEVED THE PHARAOH OF EGYPT AND HIS ARMIES AT THE EXODUS OF THE ISRAELIS FROM EGYPT. GOD MADE A WIND TO MAKE THE WATERS RECEED. THEN PHARAOH AND HIS ARMIES WERE DECIEVED TO BELIEVE THAT IT WAS DRY GROUND. SO THEY WENT ON THE DRY GROUND AFTER THE FLEEING ISRAELIS. BUT THEN GOD CHANGED THE WINDS THE OPPOSE WAY. AND THE WATER SURGE THEN REVERSED. AND DROWN RAMSIS 2ND AND ALL HIS EGYPTIAN ARMIES THAT WERE AFTER THE FLEEING ISRAELIS. AND GOD SAVED ISRAEL AND KILLED OFF ISRAELS ENEMIES.

EXODUS 34:13-14,17-31

13  And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.
14  The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
17  And I, behold, I will harden the hearts of the Egyptians, and they shall follow them: and I will get me honour upon Pharaoh, and upon all his host, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.
18  And the Egyptians shall know that I am the LORD, when I have gotten me honour upon Pharaoh, upon his chariots, and upon his horsemen.
19  And the angel of God, which went before the camp of Israel, removed and went behind them; and the pillar of the cloud went from before their face, and stood behind them:
20  And it came between the camp of the Egyptians and the camp of Israel; and it was a cloud and darkness to them, but it gave light by night to these: so that the one came not near the other all the night.
21  And Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea dry land, and the waters were divided.
22  And the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground: and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.

23  And the Egyptians pursued, and went in after them to the midst of the sea, even all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
24  And it came to pass, that in the morning watch the LORD looked unto the host of the Egyptians through the pillar of fire and of the cloud, and troubled the host of the Egyptians,
25  And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.
26  And the LORD said unto Moses, Stretch out thine hand over the sea, that the waters may come again upon the Egyptians, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.
27  And Moses stretched forth his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to his strength when the morning appeared; and the Egyptians fled against it; and the LORD overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.

28  And the waters returned, and covered the chariots, and the horsemen, and all the host of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them; there remained not so much as one of them.
29  But the children of Israel walked upon dry land in the midst of the sea; and the waters were a wall unto them on their right hand, and on their left.
30  Thus the LORD saved Israel that day out of the hand of the Egyptians; and Israel saw the Egyptians dead upon the sea shore.
31  And Israel saw that great work which the LORD did upon the Egyptians: and the people feared the LORD, and believed the LORD, and his servant Moses.

GOD TOLD US. HE WILL DESTROY PEOPLE WITH THE EARTH BECAUSE OF THEIR VIOLENCE. NOTICE THE EGYPTIANS WANTED TO USE VIOLENCE AGAINST THE ISRAELIS AT THE EXODUS. AND GOD DESTROYED THE EGYPTIAN ARMIES WITH THE EARTH BY FLOODING AND KILLING THEM WITH A TSUNAMI OR WATER SURGE.

GENESIS 6:11-13
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.(WORLD TERRORISM,MURDERS)(HAMAS IN HEBREW IS VIOLENCE)
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
13 And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence (TERRORISM)(HAMAS) through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth.

Havana braced for floods after Hurricane Irma rakes Cuban keys-[Reuters]-By Marc Frank and Sarah Marsh-YAHOONEWS-September 10, 2017

HAVANA/CAIBARIEN (Reuters) - Hurricane Irma uprooted trees and tore off roofs in Cuba on Saturday with 125-mile-per-hour (200-km per hour) winds that damaged hotels in the island's best-known beach resorts and forced evacuations as far along the coast as low-lying areas of the capital Havana.Power was out and cellphone service was spotty in many regions as Irma neared the end of a 200-mile (320-km) trek westwards along the top of the island. It was forecast to head north toward Florida in the evening. In the fishing town of Caibarien, residents swept mud from beachside homes after storm surge drove 3 feet (1 meter) of seawater up the shore. In streets carpeted with fresh green seaweed as the water receded, people said it was the strongest cyclone ever to hit the town."Sheets of zinc that came flying into our backyard also damaged the kitchen wall and we lost many roof tiles," said Angel Coya, 52, adding he was optimistic that Cuba's Communist government would help repair the damage. "We have to keep on."Irma's turn northward was expected to occur around 150 miles (240 km) east of the capital. Nevertheless, authorities shut off power in large parts of the city and evacuated some 10,000 people from central Havana near the Malecon seawall because of fears of flooding from the storm surge.By Saturday evening, the sea had penetrated two blocks over parts of the city's historic seafront boulevard, and the waters were expected to advance farther as the surge grew. Restaurants on the seaside drive pulled down their shutters and stacked sandbags against the storm.Still, many Cubans expressed a sense of relief after the eye of the first Category 5 storm to make landfall on the island since 1932 passed over the northern keys, just grazing the mainland with its full force."Honestly, I expected worse. I thought I would come back and find the roof gone," said Yolexis Domingo, 39, using a machete to hack the branches off a tree that fell in front of his house in Caibarien. "Still, it is going to be a while before I can come back to live here. The water came up to a meter high and some of the roof flew off."-KEYS PUMMELED-Overnight, the storm pounded the chain of pristine keys and tourism resorts that stretch along the coast from central Camaguey province to Villa Clara province, and it was headed toward Varadero, Cuba's most famous beach getaway.Cayos Coco and Guillermo, the crown jewels of what is known as the King’s Gardens, with 16 hotels frequented by Canadian and European tourists, sustained serious damage, local authorities in the area said.At least one bridge on a causeway to the area collapsed, and the communications tower for the keys was no longer standing.Dozens of coastal towns were damaged, with some reports of collapsed houses, though no deaths had been reported."This is a beautiful town but now it is a disaster," said local resident Sandro Sanchez, 27, walking through the main square after the hurricane had passed Remedios, in Villa Clara.Corrugated iron from roofs were strewn in the streets alongside rubble. Lampposts were bent double, plant pots smashed and the fronds of palm trees shredded."You can’t do anything against nature," he said. "We never had a storm wreak so much damage here. This is really a mess."On Saturday, Irma covered most of the island, the Caribbean's largest. Its force sent shockwaves and flooding inward. In the city of Camaguey, Anaida Morales said she just been through a night from hell with her mom, stepson and husband."The trees in the park in front of my house are down and others strewn all over the streets. Lots of roofs are gone and some houses collapsed. The river that runs through the city is about to flood," she said."The wind roared all night and it is still strong. I couldn’t sleep. I’m scared of hurricanes and this is the worst I have been through," she said.Morales said she made a phone call to her daughter, who shares her name, in Florida, where millions of people were preparing for Irma's arrival."I just spoke to Anaida, it is hard to believe she is getting ready to go through the same thing I just did," she said.(Reporting by Marc Frank; Additional reporting by Sarah Marsh and Nelson Acosta; Editing by Frank Jack Daniel, Daniel Flynn and Jonathan Oatis)

Residents of US Virgin Islands dig out and help each other after hurricane Irma-[Christian Science Monitor]-Bailey Bischoff, Hannah Schlomann, Han Zhao-YAHOONEWS-September 8, 2017

There was only one staticky satellite line available to residents of St. John attempting to reach family and friends on the US mainland Friday morning. On Wednesday, the US Virgin islands were hit by hurricane Irma, whipping through the area as a Category 5 storm with wind speeds up to 185 miles per hour for more than 24 hours."I've had to sit through a Taliban gunfight, and this was scarier," Laura Strickling told The Associated Press. Ms. Strickling moved to St. Thomas with her husband three years ago. She used to visit him in Afghanistan when he worked there."The noise [of Irma] was just deafening. It was so loud we thought the roof was gone. The windows were boarded up, so it was hot and we had no AC, no power," Strickling said.As the storms recede, reports on the damage left behind trickled out slowly Friday as residents and visitors to the islands contacted family members. Before and after photos posted by residents on Facebook and Instagram show the island’s trees stripped of their leaves and boats tossed like discarded toys along the shore.Teri Wine, a resident of St. John and a concierge at The Westin St. John Resort Villas, was in South Carolina during the storm. She has been attempting to contact friends and neighbors since the hurricane hit. So far, she has been able to talk to a neighbor who reports that it took him two hours to walk a quarter mile down a road because of all the destruction in his path.Four people were reported killed in the US Virgin Islands, according to the Associated Press. Considerable damage has occurred to property and infrastructure. The roads across both St. Thomas and St. John are narrow and steep. On a clear day, driving the 10 miles from one end of St. John to the other could take 45 minutes.Melody Smith, a property manager for the past 12 years on St. John, watched news of hurricane Irma from her summer residence on Chebeague Island, Maine. Like many island residents, she and her husband, Tom Sheets, go off island during the months of August and September when the weather gets hot. Before leaving in August, they did all they could to prepare, but the eye of the storm passed close to her neighborhood in Coral Bay.She's assuming the worst for her one bedroom wooden house. And she doesn't have insurance."Most residents just can’t afford premiums and the insurance companies won’t insure wooden houses,” says Ms. Smith. For many, the rebuilding process will be costly. Some of St. John's 4,000 full-time residents who work in the hospitality or tourist industry live aboard sailboats. But residents have reported that many boats have been reduced to splinters.Outside support-The US Virgin islands have received some outside support, both before and after the storm. After evacuating as many people as possible from the islands, National Guard and port authorities closed airports and seaports ahead of the storm. In advance of the storm on Tuesday, the Rhode Island National Guard dropped two pallets of Meals, Ready to Eat (MREs) on the islands of St. Croix and St. Thomas, according to Col. Peter Parente. The US Navy and the US Marines are currently focusing on clearing especially hard-hit areas. The USS Wasp was the first Navy vessel to arrive at St. Thomas bringing with it military personnel, emergency supplies, and helicopters to assist with the recovery. Two other ships, the USS Kearsarge and USS Oak Hill are reportedly both en route from just off the Florida coast. Both ships were originally heading to Texas to assist with flood recovery there, according to CNN.The main hospital on St. Thomas, as well as smaller emergency clinics were damaged and helicopters from the USS Wasp have been working to evacuate patients to other facilities in St. Croix and Puerto Rico. With both military and FEMA personnel are reportedly heading to the islands the priorities of emergency services are clearing roadways, evaluating infrastructure, turning power back on, clearing and repairing fields, and distributing food, water, and medical supplies.A community strengthened by love-Country singer Kenny Chesney sent a private plane this morning heading for the Virgin Island stocked with water bottles and dog food for the 30 people and 10 dogs that rode out the storm in his home in St. Thomas. Mr. Chesney commented on the strength of the community in an interview with HLN.“These people are really hard workers and they’ve got great hearts, and it’s hard to rock them even with a hurricane of this size,” Chesney said. Chesney has also started a fundraising campaign called Love for Love City that will be up on his website within the next couple of days. He is also planning a concert to raise aid money for the rebuilding process. In the HLN interview he expressed his love for the community, saying:“Yes, we will rebuild, and we will recover.”The Facebook page started by Ms. Wine to connect friends and family of islanders with their loved ones has been populated with pictures and messages of support throughout the day. Some of these pictures show scenes of communal support. One Snapchat screenshot posted on the site shows a street clear of debris with the statement, “Jacobs Ladder has been cleared. No Red Cross No National Guard The work is being done by St Johnians.” "The community especially at Coral Bay [in St. John] is absolutely incredible," says Smith in Maine, who fought back tears when she thought of the friends she was still trying to reach. "That’s the only way we are getting news. This morning there was already a volunteer meeting and they are going out to look for people. There is so much caring in that community that they are going out to look for and help others even though their house may be in ruins.”Fundraising for the islands has already begun. St. John Rescue, Inc., an all-volunteer group dedicated to “saving lives and building a better community through participation, education, and community spirit” started a Gofundme page, which has garnered more than $85,000 in donations, with the typical donation between $10 and $100.Even so, full economic recovery may be a long process. Approximately 60 percent of the islands’ GDP is from tourism. Residents could soon be facing another storm. The island is under a hurricane watch and tropical storm warning. Hurricane Jose, a Category 4 storm forming southeast of the northern Leeward islands, is currently forecast to hit the US Virgin islands on Saturday with wind speeds of 150 m.p.h.In the face of such adversity, the island residents are leaning on each other.“Our community is very tight knit and very generous especially at times like this," says Ms. Wine. "It is a very strong community. They call our island Love City.”Staff writer Kendra Nordin Beato contributed to this report. This report contains material from The Associated Press.
