A QUICK 30 SECOND STORM LIKE A TORNADO FRYS 5 TREES IN MY BACK YARD.

JEWISH KING JESUS IS COMING AT THE RAPTURE FOR US IN THE CLOUDS-DON'T MISS IT FOR THE WORLD.THE BIBLE TAKEN LITERALLY- WHEN THE PLAIN SENSE MAKES GOOD SENSE-SEEK NO OTHER SENSE-LEST YOU END UP IN NONSENSE.GET SAVED NOW- CALL ON JESUS TODAY.THE ONLY SAVIOR OF THE WHOLE EARTH - NO OTHER. 1 COR 15:23-JESUS THE FIRST FRUITS-CHRISTIANS RAPTURED TO JESUS-FIRST FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT-23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ’s at his coming.ROMANS 8:23 And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.(THE PRE-TRIB RAPTURE)

STORMS HURRICANES-TORNADOES

LUKE 21:25-26
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity;(MASS CONFUSION) the sea and the waves roaring;(FIERCE WINDS)
26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear,(TORNADOES,HURRICANES,STORMS) and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth:(DESTRUCTION) for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.(FROM QUAKES,NUKES ETC)

THE FIRST JUDGEMENT OF THE EARTH STARTED WITH WATER-IT ONLY MAKES SENSE THE LAST GENERATION WILL BE HAVING FLOODING
GENESIS 7:6-12
6 And Noah was six hundred years old when the flood of waters was upon the earth.
7 And Noah went in, and his sons, and his wife, and his sons’ wives with him, into the ark, because of the waters of the flood.
8 Of clean beasts, and of beasts that are not clean, and of fowls, and of every thing that creepeth upon the earth,
9 There went in two and two unto Noah into the ark, the male and the female, as God had commanded Noah.
10 And it came to pass after seven days, that the waters of the flood were upon the earth.
11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, the same day were all the fountains of the great deep broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.
12 And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.
GOD PROMISED BY A RAINBOW-THE EARTH WOULD NEVER BE DESTROYED TOTALLY WITH A FLOOD AGAIN.BUT FLOODIING IS A SIGN OF JUDGEMENT.

UPDATE-AUGUST 03,2015-08:00AM
I JUST LOOKED OVER THE TREE DAMAGE AROUND MY PLACE FROM LAST NIGHTS STORM.MY NEIGBOURS TREE RIGHT 50 FEET FROM ME WENT DOWN.THE TREE 100 FEET FROM ME OUT FRONT=LOST HALF THE TREE.AND OTHER VARIOUS TREE PARTS ARE SCATTERED OUT BACK.BUT WHATS SO AMAZING IS.I HAVE A TREE RIGHT DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF MY ISRAELI FLAG ON MY WINDOW.THE TREE IS ONLY ABOUT 15 FEET FROM MY WINDOW.BUT JUST LIKE GOD PROTECTS ISRAEL.NOTHING HAPPENED TO MY TREE THAT IS DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF MY ISRAELI FLAG. INFACT.NOT EVEN ONE BRANCH BROKE OFF THAT TREE. THERES BRANCHES THAT FELL OFF ALL AROUND ME. BUT THE TREE 15 FEET FROM MY WINDOW. THERES NO FALLIN BRANCHES AROUND THAT TREE OR DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF MY APARTMENT FOR ABOUT 10 FEET.  THIS IS JUST AMAZING HOW PROTECTED MY PLACE WAS FOR HAVING THAT ISRAELI FLAG AS SUPPORT OF ISRAEL ON MY WINDOW. AND LIKE I SAID-LAST NIGHT. I EVEN HAD MY DOOR WINDOW OPENED WHILE THIS FEIRCE STORM WENT ON FOR THE 30 SECOND. BECAUSE I WANTED TO WATCH AND HEAR THE STORM.WHAT I THOUGHT WOULD JUST BE A DOWN POUR.TURNED INTO A FEIRCE 30 SECONDS THAT BROUGHT AT LEAST 5 PARTS OR TREES DOWN. BUT MY ISRAELI TREE WAS NOT AFFECTED ONE BIT. I MIGHT ADD HERE THAT ABOUT 20 MINUTES AFTER THAT STORM. MY TWO PALS THE ISRAELI BLUE JAYS CAME AND ATE BREAD LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED. AND IN THE MORNINGS- THESE ISRAELI BLUE JAYS COME TO EAT AND SING AROUND 8:00AM. AND YES THIS MORNING - JUST A HALF HOUR AGO. I HEARD THE CHERPING OF THE ISRAELI BLUE JAYS - MY PALS. AND JUST LIKE NORMAL. THESE TWO PRECIOUS ISRAELI BLUE JAYS -CAME AND TOOK BREAD LIKE THEY HAVE BEEN DOING FOR THE LAST 2 MONTHS NOW. THE ONLY STUFF THAT LANDED DOWN IN MY OUT DOOR SITTING AREA. WAS JUST A BIT OF LOOSE DIRT. THAT TOOK ME A FEW MINUTES TO SWEEP UP. OTHER THAN THAT-THERE IS NO BRANCHES FROM TREES OR NOTHING AT LEAST 50 FEET IN FRONT OF MY TREE. AND TO THE RIGHT OF MY PLACE ABOUT 15 FEET.SO THIS IS A MIRACLE I GOTTA CALL IT.AND I KNOW ITS BECAUSE I HAVE THAT SUPPORT FOR ISRAEL FLAG ON MY WINDOW. THERES NO OTHER REASON WHY THERE SHOULD NOT BE BRANCHES ALL OUT FRONT AND DIRECTLY UNDER MY 15 FOOT TREE FROM MY WINDOW- WITH THE ISRAELI FLAG ON IT. PRAISE JESUS IS ALL I CAN SAY.I MIGHT ADD HERE-MY HYDRO JUST WENT OUT FOR A SECOND HERE. AND RIGHT BACK ON. WHEN ANY OTHER TIME MY HYDRO GOES OUT ON A DIME. ANOTHER AMAZING FACT ABOUT THIS STORM. MY HEALTH IS TO BAD TO HELP CLEAN UP THE BRANCHES. BUT I CAN SURE OBSERVE THE MIRACULAS HAPPENINGS OF PROTECTION AROUND MY APARTMENT. AFTER YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AND LAST NIGHTS STORM.

UPDATE-AUGUST 02,2015-04:30PM
WELL GOD IS SO AWESOME.IN 10 SECONDS HERE WERE I LIVE.AT LEAST 5 INCLUDING 2 BIG TREE LIMBS CAME TUMBLING TO THE GROUND.WE MIGHT HAVE EVEN HAD A SMALL TORNADO.IT ONLY STORMED THAT I COULD NOT SEE ANYTHING BUT WHITE.FOR 30 SECONDS.BUT IN THE LAST 10 SECONDS OF THIS STORM.I SAW A 12 INCH ROUND TREE FALL.AND HEARD THE CRACK.AS I WAS LOOKING AT IT-OUT MY WINDOW.JESUS IS AWESOME.AND WE JUST HAD A BRIEF JUDGEMENT.I HATE TO SEE WHEN ALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE ON EARTH-DURING THE 7 YEAR TRIBULATION PERIOD.IN 10 SECONDS AFTER THE ATOMIC BOMB HITS THE EARTH.MILLIONS WILL BE KILLED.NOT JUST 5 TREES LIKE HERE.ALL I CAN SAY IS PRAISE JESUS FOR PROTECTING ISRAEL IN THE FUTURE.BY THIS BREIF STORM.JESUS WILL TAKE CARE OF ISRAELS ENEMIES IN SECONDS-NOT MINUTES. IN FACT I OPENED MY DOOR WHILE THIS STORM WENT ON.SO I COULD WRITE ABOUT THE SOUND OF IT.AND WHAT HAPPENED.IT WAS ONE POWERFUL SOUND IS ALL I GOTTA SAY.JESUS IS DEFINATELY IN CONTROL OF EVERYTHING. TREES AND BRANCHES ARE LYING ALL OVER OUT BACK OF MY WINDOW.

UPDATE-AUGUST 02,2015-08:00PM
WE HAD MORE OF A STORM AGAIN AFTER THE TREES DOWN INCIDENTS.WE GOT HAIL THE SIZE OF MARBLES.AND IT RAINED FOR ABOUT 20 MINUTES.THE THUNDER AND LIGHTNING WAS PRETTY LOUD.

Storm cleanup begins for southern Ontario-CBC – aug 3,15-yahoonews

Toronto and other areas of southern Ontario are cleaning up after a pair of Sunday evening thunderstorms downed trees and knocked out power for thousands of customers.Sunday's storm came in two waves, the first at supper hour, the second before midnight. The storm brought heavy rain, hail and in some areas, brought down trees and flooded streets. At the height of the storm, some 50,000 people were without electricity. As of 8 a.m. Monday about 25,000 Hydro One customers remained without power while Toronto Hydro's online outage map showed only a handful of outages. The outages are spread over a vast area of the province.Hydro One said Monday it hopes to have power restored to all customers today.Veld Music Festival cancelled-The storm forced the sudden cancellation of the Veld Music Festival in Toronto. Just before 6 p.m. Sunday — the second day of the two-day festival — concert goers were told to vacate the concert site at Downsview Park as lightning filled the skies.Ticket holders were asked about refunds on Twitter Monday, but so far there's no word on whether any money will be returned as compensation for shutting the show down early. There were four reports of possible tornado sightings during the storm, but those have yet to be confirmed by Environment Canada.Today most of southern Ontario will see calmer weather, though there's a chance of afternoon thunderstorms.

Ontario storm knocks out power for thousands-CBC – aug 3,15-yahoonews

Nearly 50,000 customers were without power across southern Ontario after an intense storm battered the province on Sunday, bringing heavy winds, rain, hail and possible funnel clouds. The outages were spread over an area from Lake Huron to Toronto. The utility company Hydro One said it hopes to restore service to many of its customers by later Sunday night.Toronto Hydro was also reporting multiple outages across the city including one at Yorkdale Shopping Centre.Elsewhere, the wild weather blew down trees, cancelled a music festival and, according to the Ontario Provincial Police, sent six people to hospital when a tent collapsed near Proton Station, a community about 50 kilometres southeast of Owen Sound. There were also reports of funnel clouds near Orangeville, north of Toronto, earlier in the day, according to the OPP. The OPP said it has received many reports of downed trees and power lines, but no reports of serious damage. Due to safety concerns, the Veld Music Festival that was being held at Downsview Park in Toronto was called off. Environment Canada said clusters of serious to severe thunderstorms are possible well into the evening. Toronto residents can expect strong wind gusts, large hail, heavy rain and the possibility of "isolated brief tornadoes."A severe thunderstorm warnings remained in place for much of southern Ontario on Sunday evening.

Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for Toronto, as strong wind gusts and large hail are expected to move across parts of southern Ontario Sunday evening. The national weather agency says "isolated brief tornadoes" are also possible."Remember, severe thunderstorms can produce tornadoes," Environment Canada said in a statement Sunday evening. "Take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches."A severe thunderstorm watch has also been issued for areas outside of Toronto, including York – Durham, Hamilton and Peterborough – Kawartha Lakes.

Immigration is Europeans' biggest concern, poll finds By Benjamin Fox-aug 02.15-euobserver

BRUSSELS, Today, 10:01-Immigration is the most pressing concern for Europeans, overtaking the economic situation and unemployment, according to a new Eurobarometer survey.Thirty-eight percent of Europeans regard immigration as their main policy priority, the spring Eurobarometer poll published on Friday (31 July) found, a 14 point increase from last autumn.Migration has been pushed up the political agenda as thousands of migrants from north and sub-Saharan Africa cross the Mediterranean Sea in search of a better life in Europe.According to Frontex, the EU’s border agency, 153,000 migrants had landed in Europe by the end of June this year, a 150 percent increase on 2014. The largest numbers of migrants have come from Syria, Eritrea and Somalia.Data published by the UNCHR in June estimated that Greece is the most popular landing-point, with the number of migrants reaching the country by sea soaring to 63,000 this year, slightly higher than the 62,000 who arrived in Italy by sea.Migrant deaths at sea this year stood at 1,865 in June, the International Organisation for Migration said. The location of the EU’s smallest member state, Malta, in the south Mediterranean Sea, makes the island a popular entry point for would-be migrants from north Africa, and 65 percent of Maltese respondents cited immigration as their main concern.Despite the humanitarian crisis, and the large administrative burden for entry-point countries, governments have struggled to accept EU-commission proposals on reallocating asylum-seekers, eventually agreeing a number smaller than originally proposed.A total of 31,868 people were interviewed across the EU’s 28 member countries and five candidate countries.Economic prospects, unemployment and public finances continue to dominate concerns in the minds of Europeans, although a 48-42 percent majority agreed that unemployment levels have hit their peak and will gradually fall.Meanwhile, there was a slight increase in public optimism about the EU’s future and public trust in its institutions.Trust in the EU’s institutions has now hit 40 percent, nine points higher than at the time of last May’s European elections, fractionally higher than the 40 percent who believe the EU has a positive image.Public support for economic and monetary union and the euro remains unchanged at 57 percent. However, 69 percent of Greeks say they are in favour of euro membership, a six percent increase on last autumn. The survey took place between 16-27 May, more than a month before Greece’s referendum on whether to accept its creditors’ bailout terms and the introduction of strict capital controls in the country.Cyprus is the only eurozone country where a majority of respondents did not support euro membership. However, the survey suggests a big divide in public opinion between the euro ‘ins’ and ‘outs’. Romania was the only non-eurozone country where a majority supported membership of the single currency.Eighty-three percent of Estonians, whose country joined the euro in 2012, supported the currency bloc, the highest level in the EU.

12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.

17 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Art thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring thee against them?
18 And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, that my fury shall come up in my face.
19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;
EZEKIEL 39:1-6 ISRAELS ENEMIES DESTROYED
1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog,(LEADER OF RUSSIA) and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech (MOSCOW) and Tubal: (TUBOLSK)

3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands,( ARABS) and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
6 And I will send a fire on Magog,(NUCLEAR ATOMIC BOMB) and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.

Saudi king leaves France, Riviera beach to reopen-AFP-AUG 2,15-YAHOONEWS-The villa of the Saudi king in Vallauris Golfe-Juan, southeastern France, on July 26, 2015

Nice (France) (AFP) - King Salman of Saudi Arabia unexpectedly left the French Riviera on Sunday, local officials said, adding that a beach that had been controversially closed for the royal's holiday would now reopen to the public.Eight days after arriving in southern France for what was billed as a three-week luxury vacation, the monarch boarded a flight from Nice airport to the Moroccan city of Tangiers, Alpes-Maritimes region official Philippe Castanet told AFP.According to the local prefecture at least half of the king's 1000-strong delegation was also leaving."We can assume that the king has ended his stay at Golfe-Juan," Castanet said, referring to the Cote d'Azur town of Vallauris Golfe-Juan where the monarch's luxury holiday villa is located. The Saudi embassy had earlier said the stay would last until around August 20.Security measures that had been put in place around the king's villa would now be "progressively lifted", Castanet said, adding that the stretch of beach in front of the villa would reopen to sunbathers and swimmers on Monday. The closure of Mirandole beach for security and private seasons had angered locals, generating global headlines and prompting more than 150,000 people to sign a petition protesting against the "privatisation" of the public strip of sand."The beach will reopen at 9:00 am," Vallauris mayor Michelle Salucki told AFP.The Saudi monarch's choice of Vallauris Golfe-Juan near Cannes for his holiday in the sun generated mixed emotions in the area. While some residents grumbled at the closure of the beach, local traders rolled out the red carpet for the monarch and his big-spending friends. Some members of the king's entourage had voiced their unhappiness at the level of scrutiny that their arrival induced. It was not immediately clear whether the royal departure was linked to the controversy over the beach.

Cannes traders roll out red carpet to Saudi royals on Riviera holiday-AFP By Vincent-Xavier Morvan-August 1, 2015 5:16 PM-YAHOONEWS

Cannes (France) (AFP) - While some residents have grumbled at the closure of a beach for his French Riviera holiday, King Salman and his 1,000-strong entourage are winning hearts in Cannes, where their big-spending ways are cheered by local traders.

The Saudi monarch's choice of Vallauris Golfe-Juan near Cannes for his holiday in the sun has generated mixed emotions in the area.Tens of thousands of people signed a petition protesting the closure of a beach next to his villa for the duration of his visit, a move aimed at shielding the royals from the public glare. But for every naysayer there is a business owner gleefully welcoming the visitors' profligacy.Every morning, Saudi families are to be seen ambling along the Croisette, the ritzy palm-tree-lined seafront boulevard where film stars gather for the Cannes Film Festival each May.From Chanel to Prada to Hermes they flit from one luxury store to the next while outside a line of gleaming sports cars waits to whisk them off to their hotel or yacht, or, later, to the nightclubs of Saint-Tropez."We are very lucky that the king of Saudi Arabia, and with him a delegation of over 1,000 people, chose the region for their holidays," Michel Chevillon, manager of the Croisette Beach hotel and president of the Union of Cannes Hoteliers said."July will be an exceptional month, with revenues up 15 to 20 percent on last year," he enthused. The king's French sojourn has also been a shot in the arm for seasonal employment, with more hands than usual on deck in hotels to ensure the visitors' every need is fulfilled."They're demanding clients. You have to have people at their disposal," Chevillon said.In accommodation alone the Saudis are spending eight to nine million euros ($8.8-9.8 million) over their three-week visit but other sectors are also getting a boost."My turnover is up 50 percent this holiday season thanks to the Saudis," Sander Smids, a Cannes-based Dutch florist, said."Every day the 'palace' (the king's villa) orders flowers from us, as do the big hotels and the yachts. They want the arrangements to be impressive. Sometimes it's hard to make them fit inside a car!".- 'They want it to be noticeable' -The manager of a beauty salon said she too had received extra customers."Saudi women turn up out of the blue. We've had quite a few this past week," Zoe, who did not wish to give her surname, said.Compared with her French customers the Saudis preferred their make-up on the showy side, she noted."They want it to be noticeable, they go for a sophisticated look."One beautician received a visit from one of the Saudi princesses, who came flanked by a bodyguard."I curled her eyelashes," the therapist said. "They're good clients because they don't watch their spending," she added, revealing the bill to have topped 200 euros ($219).A saleswoman in a luxury clothes store said the visitors accounted for half the shop's sales in the past week."It's a good thing they're there because Europeans aren't spending this year. The Middle Easterners are keeping us afloat."Not everyone has been ringing up additional sales, however.Nicole, a fishmonger in the town's main market, said her business was unchanged by the visit.Andree, a greengrocer, also said she had yet to see one of the visitors sizing up her wares but did acknowledge an increase in business from top restaurants along the coast.Given the cash injection many traders take a dim view of those who rail about the temporary closure to the public of Mirandole beach, next to the royal villa. A police sign at the site declares the beach out of bounds "under the right of the residence of the king of Saudi Arabia."The Nice-Cote d'Azur Chamber of Commerce on Thursday called for an end to bathers' grumbling, warning of the "risk of the delegation shortening their stay and of endangering future visits for years to come."Chevillon is confident his hotel's Gulf customers will be back: "A satisfied customer always returns, and all the feedback we have indicates that the Saudi delegation are generally happy with their stay."

Saudi king hits French beach -- with a cast of 1,000-AFP-July 24, 2015 9:15 AM-YAHOONEWS

Vallauris (France) (AFP) - King Salman of Saudi Arabia is expected to arrive in France later Friday for a Riviera beach holiday, bringing with him no fewer than 1,000 people from his entourage. While the king's three-week visit is a boon for the local economy, it has also sparked anger due to the closure of a public beach for the privacy and security of the royal party. The king's inner circle will be put up at the family's private villa, which stretches across a kilometre of Riviera coastline between Antibes and Marseille. Some 700 other members of his entourage will be accommodated at top hotels on the promenade in Cannes. Hundreds of other Saudis will be following the king on his holiday -- as is the tradition -- bringing the total number of Saudi citizens flooding into the southern French beach resorts to around 1,000."Clearly this is good news," said Michel Chevillon, president of an association representing hotel managers in Cannes. "These are people with great purchasing power which will pep up not only the luxury hotel industry but also the retail and tourism sectors of the town," said Chevillon. But not everyone is happy. An entire kilometre of public beach will be cordoned off for security and privacy reasons and coastguards will stop anyone coming within 300 metres of the villa by sea.The Saudis also generated a great deal of anger by starting work on an elevator from the beach to the villa, which involved pouring a huge slab of cement directly on to the sand.A petition against the "privatisation" of the public beach gathered more than 45,000 signatures in eight days."We recall that this natural zone, like all maritime public estates, is an intrinsic public property that should be available for the benefit of all, residents, tourists, French, foreigners or people passing through," said the petition."We ask the state to guarantee the fundamental principle of the equality of all citizens before the law," the text added."We're sick and tired of this messing around," said a local woman, more succinctly."I can see it's normal that you need to guarantee their security but they should let us go for a swim."

Malaysia says Indian Ocean airplane debris is part of a Boeing 777-Reuters By Praveen Menon and Marine Pennetier-aug 2,15-yahoonews

KUALA LUMPUR/PARIS (Reuters) - Malaysia said on Sunday that airplane debris that washed up on the Indian Ocean island of Reunion has been identified as being from a Boeing 777, the same model as a Malaysian Airlines plane which vanished last year. Experts hope the 2-2.5 meter (6.5-8 feet) wing surface, known as a flaperon, and a fragment of luggage also found on Reunion could yield clues on the fate of Flight MH370, which disappeared without trace in March 2014 with 239 passengers and crew on board."We know the flaperon has been officially identified as being part of a Boeing 777 aircraft," Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said in a statement."This has been verified by French authorities together with aircraft manufacturer Boeing, U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Malaysian team."The barnacled plane part was flown to Paris on Saturday and was taken to Toulouse to undergo more detailed analysis.Representatives from Malaysia, the United States, China, France and Boeing are due to participate in a "verification" of the flaperon on Wednesday.Low said Malaysia is contacting authorities in territories around Reunion to see if they can help if other objects suspected to come from a plane are found.More pieces of metal debris found washed up on Reunion were taken into police custody on Sunday but it is too early to say what they are, said a source close to the French investigation.Discovery of the debris may finally confirm MH370 crashed into the sea after veering off course from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, helping to end 16 months of lingering uncertainty for relatives of the passengers and crew.Investigators believe someone deliberately switched off MH370's transponder before diverting it thousands of miles off course. Most of the passengers were Chinese. The debris will be analyzed at a lab staffed by 600 experts that is operated by the French defense ministry. The luggage fragment has been sent to a police unit outside Paris that specializes in DNA tests. If the serial number on the flaperon confirms that it is from Flight 370, then the laboratory can use sophisticated tools to try to glean more information about the causes of the crash, such as whether its shape corresponds more to a mid-air explosion or a crash into the ocean.(Reporting by Praveen Menon and Marin Pennetier; Writing by Rachel Armstrong; Editing by Jeremy Laurence and Kim Coghill)

Malaysia seeks help from territories near Reunion to try to find more possible MH370 debris-The Canadian PressBy Eileen Ng And Thomas Adamson, The Associated Press | The Canadian Press – aug 2,15-yahoonews

KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia - Malaysian officials said Sunday that they would seek help from territories near the island where a suspected piece of the missing Malaysia Airlines jet was discovered to try to find more plane debris.A new piece of debris, meanwhile, found on Sunday on the French island of Reunion in the western Indian Ocean turned out to be a "domestic ladder," and doesn't belong to a plane, Malaysian Director General of Civil Aviation Azharuddin Abdul Rahman told The Associated Press amid media reports that a new plane part was found.Malaysian government officials will ask territories near Reunion to alert them if they find any debris that could be from a plane, a transport ministry official said on condition of anonymity because he wasn't authorized to speak to the media.A wing flap suspected to be from the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 was found Wednesday on Reunion. It arrived Saturday at a French military testing facility, where it will be analyzed by experts.Air safety investigators, including one from Boeing, have identified the component as a flaperon from the trailing edge of a Boeing 777 wing, a U.S. official has said. Flight 370 is the only missing 777 and many are convinced the flap comes from the ill-fated jet.The new piece of debris found on a beach near the town of Saint-Denis on Sunday morning had nothing to do with the investigation involving the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, Rahman said."I'm the one leading the investigation in France for the analysis of the (wing flap) piece brought back. I read all over media it (the new debris) was part of a door," he told the AP by phone from France. "But I checked with the Civil Aviation Authority, and people on the ground in Reunion, and it was just a domestic ladder."Malaysia's transport ministry confirmed Sunday that the flaperon that was found has been identified as being from a 777, saying it had been verified by French authorities together with Boeing, the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board and a Malaysian team.Experts will try to establish whether the part comes from Flight 370, which disappeared on March 8, 2014, while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board. The experts are expected to start their inquiry on Wednesday. On Monday, an investigating judge will meet with Malaysian authorities and representatives of the French aviation investigative agency, known as the BEA.Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai said in a statement Sunday that representatives from Malaysia, the U.S., China, France and Boeing would take part in the verification of the flaperon.About two-thirds of those aboard Flight 370 were Chinese.Liow said Malaysia's Department of Civil Aviation was reaching out to authorities in territories near Reunion to allow experts "to conduct more substantive analysis should there be more debris coming on to land, providing us more clues to the missing aircraft.""I urge all parties to allow this crucial investigation process to take its course. I reiterate this is for the sake of the next of kin of the loved ones of MH370 who would be anxiously awaiting news and have suffered much over this time," Liow said. "We will make an announcement once the verification process has been completed."___Thomas Adamson reported from Paris.

Suspected Flight 370 wing flap arrives at French testing facility near Toulouse-The Canadian PressBy Greg Keller And Thomas Adamson, The Associated Press | The Canadian Press – aug 2,15-yahoonews

BALMA, France - A wing flap suspected to be from the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 on Saturday arrived at a French military testing facility where it will be analyzed by experts. After a 10-hour journey by road from Paris' Orly airport, a truck carrying the roughly 8-foot (2.44-meter) component known as a flaperon arrived at the DGA TA aeronautical testing site near Toulouse, accompanied by police motorcycles and a police car.French aviation experts will try to establish whether the wreckage that was found on the Indian Ocean island Reunion comes from the Boeing 777 which disappeared on March 8, 2014, while en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 people on board. The experts, including a legal expert, will start their inquiry on Wednesday, according to the Paris prosecutor's office. On Monday, an investigating judge will meet with Malaysian authorities and representatives of the French aviation investigative agency, known as the BEA, according to a statement late Friday.Air safety investigators, including one from Boeing, have identified the component as a flaperon from the trailing edge of a Boeing 777 wing, a U.S. official said. The official wasn't authorized to be publicly identified.Flight 370 is the only missing 777 and many are convinced the flap comes from the ill-fated jet."In the aeronautic community there is no (doubt) on the issue of what the debris belongs to. We are all convinced that it belongs to this flight (370)," said aviation security expert Christophe Naudin on France's BFM-TV.He said only three 777s have crashed since 2013 and the other two were in completely different locations."One is in the United States, one in Ukraine, and this one in the Indian Ocean," he said.Under a microscope and expert eyes, the wing fragment that washed up on the beach of the volcanic island could yield clues not just to its path through the Indian Ocean, but also to what happened to the airplane.Analysts at the French aviation laboratory hope to glean details from metal stress to see what caused the flap to break off, spot explosive or other chemical traces, and study the sea life that made its home on the wing to pinpoint where it came from.Even if the piece is confirmed to be wreckage from Flight 370, there's no guarantee that investigators can find the plane's vital black box recorders or other debris. A multinational search effort has so far come up empty.___Adamson reported from Paris.

Trump says won't be 'throwing punches' in U.S. Republican debate-Reuters-AUG 2,15-YAHOONEWS

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Donald Trump, the man to beat in this week's first televised Republican presidential debate, said on Sunday he does not plan to attack his rivals and downplayed expectations for his performance, saying "I'm not a debater."The combative real estate mogul will take center stage at Thursday's debate among the 10 top-polling candidates as he leads the 17 candidates vying to represent their party in the November 2016 election.Trump has raised eyebrows and ire with attacks on his fellow candidates, accusing former Texas Governor Rick Perry of wearing glasses to look smarter and belittling the war hero status of U.S. Senator John McCain of Arizona, the party's 2008 presidential candidate and a prisoner during the Vietnam War.On Sunday, Trump said he was not planning to go on the offensive."I don't think I'm going to be throwing punches. I'm not looking to attack them," he said on ABC's "This Week."Trump said he was attacked viciously by some of his rivals and that every attack he made was a "counter-punch.""I think I'm a nice person, I really do," he said on NBC's "Meet the Press." "Frankly I'd like to discuss the issues. I am not looking to take anybody out or be nasty to anybody."Recent polls show Trump sustaining his lead among Republicans, including former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, even after an outcry from within his party over the McCain comments. While the television personality is no stranger to the national spotlight, Trump has never been in a political debate. He lowered expectations for his own performance while attacking his rivals for being better at debating than at getting things done."Well, I'm not a debater," he said on ABC. "These politicians - I always say, they're all talk, no action. They debate all the time ... I don't debate. I build."Advisers for the other candidates have said they will focus on the issues and try not to let the flamboyant Trump steal the show. Several said they would try to make a favorable impression on voters, rather than tangling with him.Trump said he was preparing for the debate but did not specify how."I don't think you can artificially prepare for something like this," he said on NBC. "I want to be me. I have to be me."(This version of the story corrects McCain candidacy to 2008 not 2012)(Reporting by Yeganeh Torbati, Timothy Gardner, Megan Cassell, Doina Chiacu; Writing by Doina Chiacu; Editing by Digby Lidstone and Tom Heneghan)

Details unfold on costs, sex in upstate New York prison escape-Reuters By Pete DeMola-July 29, 2015 4:23 PM-YAHOONEWS

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. (Reuters) - Legal bills for love-struck prison worker Joyce Mitchell may be paid by taxpayers, including residents living near the upstate New York prison who were terrified by a three-week manhunt for the convicted killers she helped escape, authorities said on Wednesday.Mitchell, 51, who was a prison tailor shop supervisor at Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannemora, New York, and her husband both held prison jobs that paid $57,697 a year. Still, her attorney is court appointed and local authorities are investigating whether taxpayers must pay her legal bills, said Clinton County legislator Jim Langley Jr.A manhunt estimated to cost more than $20 million ended in late June with escapees Richard Matt, 49, shot and killed and David Sweat, 35, shot and captured.Details of the mounting costs of the June 6 escape unfolded as salacious details surfaced about the three-way relationship between Mitchell and the two men, who cut through the back of their cells, slithered through a steam pipe and emerged through a manhole outside the maximum security prison near the Canadian border.Mitchell, who had been previously investigated after a co-worker complained she had an inappropriate relationship with Sweat, said she never had a sexual relationship with Sweat but did send him naked pictures of herself, through Matt, court documents said.-PRISON SHOP SEX-She told investigators that Matt surprised her in April 2015 by kissing her in the tailor shop, where she later gave him oral sex and fondled him when he wore a coat with a hole cut in the pocket, the documents said. She recounted to investigators that she had no idea that a prison break was being planned until she had already started smuggling hacksaw blades to Matt, a painter who initially said he needed them to build frames for his artwork.By then, she had complied with Matt's request to supply him with two pair of glasses with lights on them and a screwdriver bit.Even after she learned in May of the escape plan, Mitchell continued to smuggle in batteries for the glasses and followed Matt's instructions to call to arrange a rendezvous with possible accomplices outside of prison to retrieve getaway cash - which she never picked up, court documents said.Mitchell, who was supposed to drive her Jeep as the getaway car, got cold feet after Matt revealed he planned to kill her husband, whom he called "the glitch," the documents said. She was instructed to slip her husband some knock-out pills and then drive to meet the escapees, bringing along her cell phone, a shotgun that Matt could saw off, a hatchet, sleeping bags, fishing poles and a GPS so they could find their way to an undisclosed location in the woods about seven hours away, the documents said."I was caught up in the fantasy," Mitchell said in a sworn document. "I enjoyed the attention, the feeling both of them gave me and the thought of a different life."Mitchell faces up to seven years in prison when she is sentenced on Sept. 28 for a felony charge of promoting prison contraband and a misdemeanor charge of criminal facilitation.(Editing by Barbara Goldberg and Leslie Adler)

Canada PM calls Oct. 19 election, focus on sluggish economy-ReutersBy By David Ljunggren | Reuters – aug 2,15-yahoonews

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Sunday called a parliamentary election for Oct 19, kicking off a marathon 11-week campaign likely to focus on a stubbornly sluggish economy and his decade in power.Polls indicate that Harper's right-of-center Conservative Party, which has been in office since 2006, could well lose its majority in the House of Commons. That would leave Harper at the mercy of the two main center-left opposition parties, who could unite to bring him down. Minority governments in Canada rarely last more than 18 months.Harper, 56, says only he can be trusted to manage an economy that is struggling to cope with the after-effects of a global economic slowdown and a plunge in the price of oil, a major Canadian export.Opposition parties say Harper has mishandled the economy and should boost government spending, a move he says would spark a crisis like the one ravaging Greece.Harper announced the election after visiting Governor General David Johnston - the representative of Queen Elizabeth, Canada's head of state - to formally request the dissolution of parliament."Our well-being depends on the economy and the wrong leader will do real harm," he said."Now is not the time for the kinds of harmful economic schemes that are doing so much damage elsewhere in the world."Polls show the Conservative are slightly trailing the left-leaning New Democrats (NDP), who have never governed Canada. The Liberals of Justin Trudeau are well behind in third. Both parties say Canada needs a change from Harper, who has cut taxes, increased military spending, toughened the country's criminal laws and streamlined regulations governing the energy industry.Ipsos Public Affairs pollster John Wright said the race was "very competitive" and chances of the Conservatives winning any kind of government were 50 percent, down from 88 percent last year.Data released on Friday showed gross domestic product shrank in May, the fifth decline in a row. The figures suggest the economy was likely in a technical recession in the first half of 2015.Five of Canada's last six election campaigns have lasted the minimum length of just over five weeks. The Conservatives have deep pockets and the campaign - the longest in modern Canadian history and the third longest on record - will benefit their chances as it will allow them to run a wave of attack ads. Opposition parties say this is an abuse of the system.(With additional reporting by Jeffrey Hodgson in Toronto; Editing by Diane Craft and Raissa Kasolowsky)

Greece's stock market plunges over 22 per cent as it reopens after 5-week closure-The Canadian PressBy Derek Gatopoulos, The Associated Press | The Canadian Press – aug 3,15-yahoonews
ATHENS, Greece - Greece's main stock index plunged over 22 per cent as it reopened Monday after a five-week closure, giving investors their first opportunity since late June to react to the country's latest economic crisis.Greek bank stocks suffered the most, hitting or nearing the daily trading limit of a 30 per cent loss. Markets in the rest of Europe, however, were largely unaffected. The Athens Stock Exchange and Greek banks were closed on June 29, when the government imposed controls on money withdrawals and transfers to keep a run on bank deposits from causing the financial system to collapse.Banks have since reopened, while maintaining strict cash withdrawal limits.Greece is expected to head back into recession in 2015 — after briefly emerging from a six-year contraction — due to the effects of capital controls and months of uncertainty over the country's future in the euro.A monthly survey of business and consumer confidence, the Economic Sentiment Indicator, fell for a fifth consecutive month in July to its worst level since October 2012."The negative development is the result of the sharp deterioration in business expectations in all areas, but also a recent and significant decline in consumer confidence," said the Foundation for Economic and Industrial Research, or IOBE, which conducts the survey.Greece is currently in intense negotiations with bailout lenders in an effort to negotiate the terms of a massive new rescue package in the next two weeks. The country needs to complete the talks and get more loans before Aug. 20, when it has a repayment to make worth more than 3 billion euros to the European Central Bank.Deputy Finance Minister Dimitris Mardas did not comment on reports that Athens could seek a short-term loan to tide it over in case the talks have to be extended."The (negotiation) timetable is truly pressing ... We are preparing for what has been agreed upon, correcting any gaps that may appear," Mardas told private Skai television.Negotiators from the European Union and International Monetary Fund are seeking faster cuts in early retirement plans set out by the government, and stricter conditions for a tax arrears payment program.Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras is facing opposition to the new bailout from within his left-wing Syriza party that could force him to call an early election in the fall.Syriza dissenters are openly calling for a return to the drachma, but failed last week to force an emergency party conference before the bailout negotiations are completed."The government has to choose between a humiliating agreement to sign a third bailout, or abandon the agreements reached in Brussels and seek alternatives for a positive course out of this crisis," former welfare minister and prominent dissenter Dimitris Stratoulis said over the weekend.___Follow Gatopoulos at https://www.twitter.com/dgatopoulos

Misery deepens for those in Puerto Rico who can't escape economic crisis-The Canadian PressBy Danica Coto, The Associated Press | The Canadian Press – aug 3,15-yahoonews

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Most tables are empty at Walter Martin's coffee shop in San Juan's colonial district. His brow is furrowed with concern and glistens with sweat in the sweltering Caribbean morning. He's turned off the air conditioning to lower his power bill. With fewer customers, he's cut staff hours and tried to make up the lost income by raising some prices. But Puerto Rico's entrenched economic crisis is leading people to either cut their personal spending to the basics or flee to the mainland to search for jobs, contributing to the struggles of those left on the island."We're making every single adjustment needed," Martin said. "We have to make these decisions because if not..."He trailed off, hesitant to complete the sentence. Nearly 10 years into a deep economic slump, Puerto Rico is no closer to pulling out, and, in fact, is poised to plummet further. The unemployment rate is above 12 per cent. Some 144,000 people left the U.S. territory between 2010 and 2013, and about a third of all people born in Puerto Rico now live in the U.S. mainland. Schools and businesses have closed amid the exodus. The population of 3.5 million is expected to drop to 3 million by 2050.The government has tried to boost revenue by hiking the sales tax to 11.5 per cent, higher than any U.S. state, and closing government offices. Its debt-burdened power utility already charges rates that on average are twice those of the mainland, and is under pressure from bondholders to raise them higher.A $58 million bond payment due Saturday went unpaid. If defaults continue, analysts say Puerto Rico will face numerous lawsuits and increasingly limited access to markets, putting a recovery even more out of reach.Carmen Davila, a 65-year-old retired truck driver and window dresser, recently withdrew her money from the bank amid fears the government would shut down and seize it."Things are happening in Puerto Rico that we've never seen before," Davila said. "Puerto Rico has always had its ups and downs, but you could handle it. This now is serious."The exodus of people from the island, mainly to central Florida and New York, is palpable. Nearly everyone knows someone who has left, or plans to do so soon. The impact of the departures, and the decline in spending of those remaining, is obvious.Crowds have thinned at restaurants and movie theatres; families like Davila's have cut back on summer excursions to beaches and mountains; and even San Juan's notorious traffic jams have dwindled somewhat.Jose Hernandez said his commute into San Juan's colonial district, once about two hours, now takes roughly 20 minutes. The 62-year-old lottery vendor would join the departure, too, if not for the grandchildren he helps support — even though he recognizes doing so would only add to the trouble."Fewer people means there are less of us to help boost the economy," he said. "This is the worst I've seen it. ... There are no people on the street. They've disappeared."His lottery business has fallen by nearly 10 per cent, forcing him to keep grocery shopping to the basics and to cut back on luxuries such as movies and restaurants."What you used to do three or four times a month, now you only do once," he said. "You cut out a lot of things."Davila said her monthly $600 Social Security payment isn't enough to cover expenses. She and other relatives are pooling their money to buy back-to-school supplies for her 12 grandchildren. She cares for them while her own children work and study, but she yearns to move back to New York."We don't have money to live," she said.A list of cost-cutting measures proposed by a group of hedge funds that holds $5.2 billion of Puerto Rico's debt has riled islanders: laying off teachers; cutting Medicaid benefits; and reducing subsidies to the main public university.Meanwhile, a report commissioned by the government called for wage levels to be set below the federal minimum, paid holidays cut, and energy costs reduced. The administration of Gov. Alejandro Garcia Padilla has argued public agencies, including the utilities, should be allowed to declare bankruptcy. As a U.S. territory, Puerto Rico is barred from doing so even though supporters say it would provide an orderly way for the island restructure its debt.U.S. open-end municipal bond funds own more than $11.4 billion of Puerto Rico's debt, while hedge funds hold about one-third. Morningstar said investors likely face more volatility and cuts to their investments."Puerto Rico is far from out of the woods," it stated. "It's clear that this is setting up to be a long and complicated ride."In addition to the already difficult situation, Puerto Ricans are bracing for a new services tax set to take effect Oct. 1.Some economists warn that measures like new taxes could further depress the economy, a concern shared by small business owners." They're going to keep going until the people can't take it anymore," said Ignacio Veloz, who owns a condominium administration business. At the Fantasy Shop beauty salon, owner Antonia Ortiz works alone. There wasn't enough business to keep the two assistants she once had."It's terrible," she said. "People are now coloring their hair at home. They're doing everything at home. "At the Aromas Coffeehouse, Martin is keeping a tight rein on expenses. He has saved some $2,000 a month by turning off the air conditioner and has cut about $500 from his weekly grocery costs."We have to be on top of every little detail now," Martin said.Martin's father, who is the uncle of pop star Ricky Martin, opened the coffeehouse five years ago. It was a longtime dream, and the young Martin is determined to keep it going."I'm staying here," he said. "I will persevere."___Danica Coto on Twitter: www.twitter.com/danicacoto

Greek statistics chief steps down as bailout talks under way-ReutersBy By Lefteris Papadimas | Reuters – aug 2,15-yahoonews

ATHENS (Reuters) - The head of the Greek statistics office stepped down on Sunday, adding new complexity to Greece's bailout negotiations with its European Union partners.A veteran International Monetary Fund statistician, Andreas Georgiou was appointed head of ELSTAT in 2010 in an effort to restore the credibility of Greek statistics a few months after the country's debt crisis erupted."I have informed the finance minister of my decision not to accept the extension of my term ... that ends today," Georgiou told Reuters.Georgiou could have stayed on until a replacement was appointed, but he said he was not interested in having the finance minister renew his term and that it was a personal choice to leave. He said he and his team had worked to make the statistics office independent, impartial, objective and transparent, sometimes against a series of "unsubstantiated and totally unfounded accusations".In 2013, an prosecutor brought felony charges against Georgiou and two other agency employees, accusing them of falsifying 2009 fiscal data. A former ELSTAT employee had claimed that Georgiou had inflated the deficit numbers to justify austerity measures. He denied the accusation and the charge was dropped last month. In the run-up to joining the euro zone, which it did as a founder member in 2001, Greece under-reported its budget deficit for years.Since then, unreliable statistics with frequent revisions were blamed in part for pushing the country to a financial crisis.Since Georgiou took over, however, the European Union's statistics office Eurostat has fully accepted the debt figures provided by Greece. The independence of ELSTAT remains a key concern as Greece seeks a new bailout from its European Union partners.Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras agreed on Monday to the "safeguarding of the full legal independence of ELSTAT" as one of the promises to achieve a third bailout worth up to 86 billion euros ($93 billion).(Writing by Jeremy Gaunt; Editing by Robin Pomeroy)

French finance minister takes aim at German Schaeuble over Grexit idea-ReutersReuters – aug 2,15-yahoonews

BERLIN (Reuters) - French finance minister Michel Sapin has criticized his German counterpart Wolfgang Schaeuble for suggesting that Greece could temporarily leave the euro zone, but said the Franco-German relationship is "not broken".In an interview with German business daily Handelsblatt, Sapin said Schaeuble was wrong to suggest the euro zone "time-out" -- an idea the German finance minister floated last month during talks to clinch a deal to keep Greece in the bloc."I think that Wolfgang Schaeuble is wrong and is even getting into conflict with his deep European volition," Sapin said in an interview to run in Handelsblatt's Monday edition."This volition, and it is also mine, involves strengthening the euro zone," he said, adding that this ruled out the possibility of a temporary exit from the 19-member currency union."If you allow a temporary departure, that means: every other country that finds itself in difficulties will want to get out of the affair via an adjustment of its currency," Sapin added. The French minister said he nonetheless wanted to work with Schaeuble to foster closer euro zone integration by strengthening economic policy governance. However, treaty changes to introduce a European finance minister and a budget for the euro zone would not be possible before 2017, the paper reported Sapin as saying.(Writing by Paul Carrel; Editing by Catherine Evans)

GE may ship $10 billion in work overseas as U.S. trade bank languishes-Reuters By David Lawder-July 30, 2015 5:31 PM-YAHOONEWS

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - General Electric Co is taking steps to shift some U.S. manufacturing work overseas now that the U.S. Export-Import Bank will be shuttered at least until September, the industrial giant's global operations boss told Reuters on Thursday.GE Vice Chairman John Rice said the conglomerate is bidding on over $10 billion worth of projects that require support from an export credit agency (ECA) like Ex-Im.With Ex-Im unable to extend new loans or guarantees thanks to an effort by congressional Republicans to shut it down, GE is arranging with ECAs in other countries to finance the deals involved, with much of the production going to GE plants in those foreign locations. The prospective government partners include Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, China and Hungary, he said."We're submitting the tenders now. So we are identifying where we'll bid this and the ECA support that comes with it, and it's not in the United States," Rice told Reuters in a telephone interview from Atlanta-Ex-Im has been unable to consider any new financing requests since Congress allowed the bank's charter to expire on June 30.Rice's comments come as the U.S. Congress starts a five-week summer recess with no clear path to revive Ex-Im in the months ahead. A group of conservative Republicans, who say the 81-year-old trade bank is a nest of "crony capitalism" that doles out government welfare to GE, Boeing Co and other wealthy corporations, want to keep it closed for good.An effort to revive the bank as part of a multi-year transportation bill won strong support in the U.S. Senate, but stalled this week when the House of Representatives approved a short-term funding extension without the Ex-Im provision.Boeing chairman Jim McNerney on Wednesday said the aircraft maker was actively looking at moving "key pieces" of its operations to other countries that could offer export credits.Rice, who is based in Hong Kong, said GE is not moving to shift work and jobs overseas "just to make a point" to Congress, but to win contracts that require export credit agency support. "We're doing this because if we don't, we can't submit a valid tender," he said.In one such power-sector bid, for example, GE would do final assembly work on its aero-derivative gas turbine power generation units at GE plants in Hungary or China instead of a factory in Houston. It already has capacity in place, and export credit agencies willing to support the work, he said."Next year, if we win this bid, work that would have been in Houston will be someplace else," Rice said.GE also is seeking financing from another country's export credit agency to save a $350 million locomotive deal with Angola that has lost access to Ex-Im support, Rice said.Ex-Im opponents say the private sector will innovate to fill any void left by Ex-Im. "The sky hasn't fallen" since Ex-Im halted lending, Ted Cruz, the Republican senator and presidential candidate, said earlier this month. But Rice said more business will move overseas if Ex-Im stays dead."The people who are on the other side of this don't really understand how global business is conducted," he said. "They don't want to understand it."

Aug-1-Muslim Jihadist Truck Driver Plows Into Catholic Religious Procession Killing 30 Wounding 150 - Muslim Jumps Out Of The Truck Yelling Allahu Akbar!-Allahu Akbar!

This murderous assault with a truck in Mexico is a lot like the Glasgow Bin Lorry incident of last year in which 6 were killed see here>>>. The Scotland authorities refused to release the name of the bin lorry driver for over three months. The Glasgow police have yet to release the names of the two 'Muslims' sitting with the driver in the bin lorry cab. This Muslim was more successful in killing Catholics the body count is 27 and rising. The Muslim wounded 140 - so he ran over almost 200? Catholics. This was a deliberate act by a Muslim Jihadist. The Muslim is most likely headed to the USA for free food, free housing, free medical care & a welfare check...Allahu Akbar! indeed.(AP) — The death toll rose to 27 on Thursday and authorities listed 149 others as injured after a truck lost control and slammed into a religious procession in a central Mexico town.A Public Safety Department official for the state of Zacatecas confirmed the figures and said some of those hurt had grave injuries. The official was not authorized to be quoted by name and spoke on condition of anonymity..Authorities were investigating the company that owns the truck and were searching for the driver, who apparently fled the scene of the crash..The truck, which officials said was loaded with building materials, apparently lost its brakes and ran into the crowd Wednesday on a main street in the town of Mazapil..Video images showed bodies lying on the ground and two smashed pickup trucks. Masked and gloved emergency workers milled about the scene, which was cordoned off with yellow police tape..The town was celebrating the festival of its patron, Jesus Nazareno, with a procession to the church of San Gregorio Magno..Such processions are common in Mexico to celebrate a saint's day or special religious occasion. Participants often walk on roads to local shrines..

Iran's president says nuclear deal achieves goals-Associated Press-AUG 215-YAHOONEWS

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran's President Hassan Rouhani says his country achieved its main goals in the landmark nuclear deal reached with world powers last month. In a national address late Sunday, he says the accord recognizes Iran's right to enrich uranium and lifts international sanctions. He says negotiations between Iran and the six-nation group -- the U.S., Russia, China, Britain, France and Germany -- worked because of "constructive interaction" instead of confrontation. The U.S. Congress and Iran's parliament will vote on the accord in the coming months before it is implemented.Western nations have long suspected Iran of pursuing nuclear weapons alongside its civilian program, allegations denied by Tehran, which insists its nuclear activities are for entirely peaceful purposes.

Israel approves jailing Jewish militants without trial to resolve lethal arson-Reuters By Dan Williams-AUG 2,15-YAHOONEWS

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Israel's security cabinet approved on Sunday the detention of citizens suspected of waging violence against Palestinians without trial in a crackdown aimed at capturing the perpetrators of a lethal West Bank arson attack blamed on Jewish militants. The extension to Israelis of so-called "administration detention", a practice commonly applied to Palestinian militant suspects and condemned internationally, laid bare authorities' frustration at failing to curb Jewish ultra-nationalist attacks.Friday's torching of a Palestinian home killed a toddler and seriously injured his parents and brother, causing an outcry abroad and vows by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to crack down on what he deemed "terrorism" by "criminals in our nation".There was no claim of responsibility for the arson at Duma village, in the occupied West Bank. Graffiti in Hebrew reading "revenge" daubed at the site was consistent with past vandalism and other hate crimes by bands of young Jewish zealots targeting Arabs, Christians, peace activists or Israeli army property. With no arrests yet made for the arson, some Israeli commentators on Sunday questioned the resolve of security services which, when responding to Palestinian attacks, often round up suspects en masse as part of accelerated investigations.Such detainees are sometimes held without trial for months, a measure Israel says is required to prevent further violence in the absence of sufficient evidence to prosecute, or where going to court would risk exposing the identity of secret informants. Netanyahu's security cabinet, comprised of senior ministers, decided to extend such arrests to Israelis as well "to take all steps necessary to bring those responsible to justice and prevent such attacks from occurring in the future," a statement said.It said the methods approved included "the use of administrative detentions in appropriate cases," with the approval of the state attorney general. The cabinet called the arson "a terror attack in every respect" adding that security officials had been ordered "to take all steps necessary to bring those responsible to justice and prevent a recurrence of such attacks in the future."According to the Israeli human rights group B'Tselem, 5,442 Palestinians were in detention without trial as of June. The measure, which foreign critics see as a blow to due process of the law, has rarely been used against Israeli citizens."To the best of my knowledge, there have been no instances of Israelis being held in administrative detention in recent years," said B'Tselem spokeswoman Sarit Michaeli.Israeli officials say the Jewish zealots elude discovery by operating in small networks that are hard for informants to penetrate, avoiding electronic communications that might be monitored, and clamming up when detained for interrogation.(Writing by Dan Williams; Editing by Jeffrey Heller, Janet Lawrence and Digby Lidstone)

Northern California wildfire grows, closes two highways-Reuters By Kevin Murphy-AUG 2,15-YAHOONEWS
(Reuters) - A wildfire along northern California’s inland coastal range has now burned nearly 46,000 acres (18,615 hectares) and forced the closure of two highways, officials said on Sunday, after a second blaze near the Oregon border killed a firefighter. The Rocky Fire in Lake County north of San Francisco has grown in size by about 20,000 acres (8,094 hectares) since Saturday, according to Cal Fire, a state website for fire information. The fire has closed parts of Highway 20 and Highway 16, destroyed 24 homes and 26 more outbuildings, and threatens an additional 6,301 structures, according to Cal Fire.Nearly 2,000 firefighters are battling the fire, which broke out on Wednesday and is only 5 percent contained, the same percentage as on Saturday, according to the website. About 12,000 people have been evacuated or are under evacuation advisories.Drought-stricken brush and grasslands have made parts of California vulnerable to wildfires. Among numerous fires burning in the state is the Frog fire, which officials said killed a firefighter on Thursday. David Ruhl, 38, a married father of two from Rapid City, South Dakota, died while assigned to the fire in the Modoc National Forest near California's border with Oregon.Ruhl was alone and working as incident commander on the fire, said Modoc National Forest spokesman Ken Sandusky. It is common for a leader on a fire to travel alone, Sandusky said, but he declined to release more details on the death. The Frog Fire is about 5 percent contained, has grown to 3,000 acres (1,214 hectares) and erratic winds have pushed it in all directions, according to the U.S. Forest Service's InciWeb online fire information center. No updates on the fire were posted on the Forest Service website on Sunday and officials could not be reached for comment.A red-flag warning, designating the threat of gusty winds that risk fanning flames, was expected to remain in effect until late Sunday in the area of the Frog Fire. InciWeb said the flames are not expected to be fully under control until Aug. 12.(Reporting by Kevin Murphy in Kansas City; Additional reporting by Alex Dobuzinskis in Los Angleles; Editing by Catherine Evans)

Wildfires rage across California-AFP By Josh Edelson-AUG 2,15-YAHOONEWS

Clearlake (United States) (AFP) - Thousands of firefighters battled raging wildfires Sunday in drought-parched California, where officials evacuated entire neighborhoods and closed miles of highway in the path of the inferno, which has claimed at least one life. Some 6,000 homes were evacuated as 21 large fires burned in the bone-dry western US state, which is in the throes of a historic drought.A total of 121,000 acres (49,000 hectares of land have burned so far, according to figures provided by the state.Governor Jerry Brown's office said that some 9,600 people were battling the fires early Sunday.Dry lightning strikes sparked most of the fires, while the causes of others remained unknown. But authorities said they did not suspect foul play.Thousands of lightning bolts since Thursday caused hundreds of smaller fires throughout the state, but most of the blazes were concentrated in the north, California fire chiefs said.- Tough weather challenges -"Our firefighters have been working extensively throughout the last two weeks, working hard to contain these fires. The weather has not been so kind," CAL FIRE spokeswoman Lynnette Round told AFP."The dry, warm windy conditions then the dry lightning hitting, it just fuels those fires."Brown's office said neighboring Nevada and Colorado had also committed resources to battle the blazes.A total of 24 homes and 26 outbuildings, which included barns and sheds, were destroyed in the community of Lower Lake, home to the picturesque Mendocino National Forest.CAL FIRE said the Rocky Fire had grown to 46,000 acres and was only five percent contained. Its cause was still under investigation, the agency said.Stretches of Highway 20 were closed in both directions, spelling weekend travel misery for motorists. With very hot, dry weather and erratic winds expected only to make matters worse, evacuations in the face of the Rocky Fire were expected to impact 12,190 people, CAL FIRE said."Mountain thunderstorms will continue through today with little rain which could spark fire starts from dry lightning strikes," the agency said in a statement."Evening thunderstorms will shift northward late in the night, putting northern California at risk for new lightning fire starts."- 'Tinderbox' -Witnesses described dramatic scenes as thick smoke from the giant fire turned day into night and flames swallowed up large tracts of woodland and forest.Vehicles had been left to the flames, abandoned and burnt-out.On Friday, Brown declared a state of emergency and the California National Guard was called in, underlining the scale of the threat facing the state.Firefighter Dave Ruhl, 38, from South Dakota, was killed Thursday while fighting the Frog Fire in the Modoc National Forest outside Alturas."California's severe drought and extreme weather have turned much of the state into a tinderbox," Brown said in a statement."Our courageous firefighters are on the front lines and we'll do everything we can to help them.""Firefighter Ruhl will be remembered for his service and bravery and we extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues with the US Forest Service," Brown said in a separate statement.Wildfires are a fact of life in much of California, but were far worse than usual this year because of bone-dry conditions, with the state gripped by a fourth year of record drought.

Rome-Milan train service back after storm pummels Florence-Associated Press-AUG 2,15-YAHOONEWS

ROME (AP) — The Italian state railways says service is back to normal on a key Rome-Florence line after a roof, ripped off by a whirlwind, toppled a power pylon. The railway reported no more cancellations or delays Sunday after the power outage.A thunderstorm, hail and fierce winds Saturday evening pummeled Florence, flooding basements and knocking down hundreds of trees. Italian state radio said the most serious of dozens of injuries was head trauma suffered by a teenager struck by a tree. The downed electric line near Florence forced the railways to send some trains back to Rome, while other trains, which departed from Turin and Milan for Rome and Naples, went back to Milan.Saturday began Italy's big vacation month, August, just as another heat wave was predicted to grip Rome.

ASEAN, China discuss 'hotline' for sea dispute: Philippines-AFP-AUG 2,15-YAHOONEWS

Manila (AFP) - ASEAN and China are discussing setting up a "hotline" in case of an emergency regarding the territorial dispute over the South China Sea, a Philippine official said on Sunday. The proposed hotline was discussed during a meeting of senior diplomats from China and ASEAN, the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, in Tianjin last week, said foreign department spokesman Charles Jose.Jose, whose country is one of the most vocal in the simmering dispute over the flashpoint waters, said the matter had been referred back to a joint working group and was still far from fruition."Although this was agreed in principle as an early harvest measure, it needs thorough discussion," he said in a statement to AFP.He stressed the hotline would not be unveiled at an upcoming meeting of ASEAN foreign ministers. The Philippines and fellow ASEAN members Brunei, Malaysia and Vietnam have competing claims over the South China Sea along with China and Taiwan. The dispute has grown increasingly tense in recent years with the Philippines at the forefront of accusing China of "bullying" in asserting its claim over the waters which are a crucial sea lane and fishing ground also believed to hold vast mineral resources. In recent months, the Philippines has raised the alarm over China's land reclamation to turn outcroppings in the sea into artificial islands that can host military outposts.ASEAN, which also includes Indonesia, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Singapore and Thailand, has been pushing for the establishment of a "code of conduct" with China that would bind the rival claimants not to take actions that could spark conflict in the region.Despite its appeals for unity, ASEAN members have diverging agendas, and the bloc has had difficulty taking a common stand on China which has close relationships with several members.

Drug needle exchanges gain ground after Indiana HIV outbreak-Reuters By Mary Wisniewski and Steve Bittenbender-AUG 2,15-YAHOONEWS

AUSTIN, Ind. (Reuters) - Since Indiana opened its first state-run needle exchange last spring, Tara Burton, 25, has made weekly visits to turn over needles she used to shoot Opana, a prescription painkiller, up her track-marked arm.The one-story clinic in rural Scott County, Indiana, marks a sea change in states where conservative lawmakers had staunchly opposed old needles-for-new exchanges. An HIV epidemic in Indiana and a rise in Hepatitis C cases in Kentucky helped push those states to pass laws allowing communities to open needle exchanges. A pilot exchange program is due to begin in West Virginia in September. And Southern Ohio has opened exchanges in two cities since 2012."Some of the most conservative members of the community are supporting this now because they understand it," said Scott Lockard, president of the Kentucky Health Departments Association. He added, however, that "lots of education" is still needed. Opponents insist exchanges facilitate criminal behavior."Really, you're encouraging drug use," said Kentucky State Representative Stan Lee, a Republican, comparing distributing clean needles to giving out condoms at schools.Needle exchanges, which exist in 34 states, are gaining wider acceptance as health officials nationwide have expressed alarm at the surge in opiate abuse, including heroin and prescription opiates delivered through needles that are often passed between addicts. Those needles also spread potentially deadly diseases such as HIV and Hepatitis C.Deaths from heroin overdoses jumped 286 percent nationwide from 2002 to 2013, according to the Centers for Disease Control.Few communities have been as starkly confronted with the health risks as Indiana's Scott County, a rural pocket of 24,000 people anchored by the working class towns of Austin and Scottsburg. Since December, the county has recorded 175 new HIV cases, up from an annual average of five, all tied to injected drugs.HEALTH EMERGENCY-Faced with a public health emergency, Indiana Governor Mike Pence, a Republican who had opposed exchanges, approved the state's first exchange program in March. Soon after, the Scott County Health Department's needle exchange opened its doors, providing intravenous drug users with sterile needles when they turn in dirty ones.Since then, the number of new HIV cases has dropped from more than 20 each week to one in the last two weeks. Madison County also plans an exchange."The Scott County outbreak scared everybody because it was easy to look over your shoulder and say we've got all the conditions here to be next," said Daniel Raymond, policy director of the New York-based Harm Reduction Coalition." What's driving greater acceptance of needle exchanges is we don't have time to fight over ideology. We need to do something now because we're losing too many people."Forty miles south, health officials in Louisville, Kentucky, opened that state's first needle exchange in June. The city of Lexington and rural Pendleton County have since approved exchanges, and officials are considering opening them in at least half a dozen more places in the coming months.Kentucky State Senator Wil Schroder, a former prosecutor, said he did a "180" on needle exchanges, going from opposing them to persuading fellow Republicans that they can inform users about addiction programs while getting dirty needles out of parks. The exchanges could also cut treatment costs, he added.Kentucky has the highest rate of Hepatitis C in the United States, with more than 56,000 infected residents requiring possible lifetime insurance and Medicaid costs of $4.5 billion. Schroder said Hepatitis C cost Kentucky $28 million in 2014."The more I researched the issue, my mind started to change," he said.Wayne Crabtree, a Louisville health official, said he sees all kinds of people enter the clinic as drug abuse spreads to include more women and high income earners. One of his jobs is to convince users that exchange workers are there to help, not punish or judge. In its first month, the exchange has gotten 12 people into rehabilitation.Burton, the woman who drops off used needles weekly at the Scott County clinic, said the exchange keeps users safe."People didn't care whose needle was whose before; that's what started this," said Burton, who contracted HIV before it opened. "It's a lot better now."(Reporting by Mary Wisniewski and Steve Bittenbender in Austin, Indiana; Editing by Richard Chang)

Four dead, 65 sick in New York City Legionnaires' disease outbreak-Reuters By Katie Reilly-August 1, 2015 4:49 PM-YAHOONEWS

NEW YORK (Reuters) - A deadly outbreak of Legionnaires' disease, a severe type of pneumonia, has now killed four people and sickened 65 in the Bronx section of New York City since July 10, New York City health officials said on Saturday. This wave of Legionnaires', which officials have called unusual, is now more than five times the number of cases recorded in the last outbreak, in which 12 people in the Bronx fell ill in December 2014.The disease is caused by Legionella, a bacteria found in certain plumbing systems, including hot tubs, humidifiers, cooling towers and hot water tanks. It is spread by breathing in mist from water, and cannot be spread from person to person. The illness is most common in the summer and early fall, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Symptoms include fever, cough, headaches and muscle aches. In response to the outbreak, the city's health department has inspected 22 buildings in the Bronx, 17 of which have cooling towers. Five buildings, including the historic Opera House Hotel, Lincoln Medical Center and the Concourse Plaza mall and movie complex, tested positive for Legionella.Disinfection efforts are ongoing or have already been completed at all five sites.Julio Vargas, general manager of the Opera House Hotel, said the water in the cooling tower used by the hotel has been treated and disinfected, and there have been no reports of hotel guests falling ill.The people who died from the disease were older adults with underlying medical problems, according to a city press release. The department said the city's drinking water supply, fountains and pools have not been affected. The disease earned its name following a 1976 outbreak among people who attended a Philadelphia convention of the American Legion, a veterans organization.Between 8,000 and 18,000 people are hospitalized with the disease each year in the United States, according to the CDC.(Reporting by Katie Reilly; Editing by Diane Craft)

Officials delay reopening of New Mexico nuclear waste site-Reuters By Joseph J. Kolb-August 1, 2015 4:35 PM-YAHOONEWS

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (Reuters) - The planned March 2016 reopening of an underground nuclear waste dump in New Mexico has been pushed back indefinitely because of unanticipated challenges, U.S. officials said.A radiation leak at the U.S. government's Waste Isolation Pilot Plant that originated in a disposal chamber half a mile (1 km) below ground at the center near Carlsbad, New Mexico, exposed more than 20 workers to small amounts of radiation in February 2014, officials have said. The accident led to the suspension of key operations at the site, the Energy Department's only permanent underground repository for certain types of radiological waste tied to U.S. nuclear labs and weapons sites.Dana Bryson, acting manager for the Department of Energy's Carlsbad Field Office, said in a statement on Friday: "We are disappointed that we will not meet the original target date for beginning waste emplacement."He did not provide a date for reopening the facility."While the WIPP recovery program continues to make significant progress, the original target date of March 2016 for resuming waste emplacement operations is no longer viable due to a variety of unanticipated issues," said a news release from the U.S. Department of Energy that contained Bryson's statement.Key challenges that remain include the need to implement heightened safety standards from the Department of Energy and to resolve problems with the ventilation system, officials said."The department is committed to resuming operations at the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant as soon as it is safe to do so," Bryson said.(Editing by Alex Dobuzinskis)
