But in order to really choose an alternative route to renewable energy our people must be ready to change their lifestyle. Otherwise it is just hypocrisy". The Japanese bishop Isao Kikuchi touches upon a very sensitive point and denounces the risk of a purely ideological approach to the nuclear issue. A Divine Word Missionary, 56 year-old Kikuchi is the bishop of Niigata and the president of the Japanese Caritas agency, which has assumed an increasing role and prestige in  the country of the Rising Sun thanks to its efforts during the last three years after the earthquake, tsunami and disaster at the Fukushima power plant. Approximately 267 thousand people are living in temporary shelters in the affected areas, and Caritas continues its laudable work of aid, rehabilitation of displaced persons and reconstruction, and has just announced that its support will continue for another three years.On the eve of Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's arrival at the Vatican, in an exclusive conversation with Vatican Insider bishop Kikuchi intervenes in the ongoing countrywide debate in the aftermath of the nuclear disaster which, three years from that fateful March 11th, 2011, has once again returned to centre stage. "The national debate was serious and in depth", recalls Kikuchi, "and it involved all segments of society. The Christian Bishops and the leaders of other religious communities expressed strong support in the choice of alternative energy sources, to protect humans and the environment. Promoting renewable energy sources is the only choice we have and it is the only responsible path to follow for the good of new generations in Japan". Furthermore, "this idea", he explains, "must go hand in hand with the reform of our lifestyle" in order to not remain a mere declaration of principle. "If we continue to maintain the current lifestyle, with a very high energy consumption, the promotion of alternative energy sources seems to me quite hypocritical. The list is getting longer and the limited quota means a pilgrim has to wait 50 years for his turn to arrive."I consider this as a big challenge. This move is unhelpful to peace efforts."European diplomats told Walla! that by announcing the construction, Israel was "playing with fire," threatening that the construction "will cause international isolation and damage to Israel."Plans to build 1,800 housing units in the ten separate communities in the region were unfrozen on Thursday, after tenders for roughly 1,500 new homes in the region were announced Wednesday night. That is an incredibly lopsided percentage. Is this right? Is it wrong? Either way, Israel is forced to gamble and takes whatever it can from an insatiable foe.But America is not accustomed to scenes of jubilation in Afghanistan or elsewhere, after a single American soldier is traded for five Taliban terrorists who were serving time at Gitmo. ISLAMABAD, Pakistan The Afghan Taliban say they are ready to hand over a U.S. soldier held captive since 2009 in exchange for five of their senior operatives being held at the Guantanamo Bay prison.A Taliban spokesman, Shaheen Suhail, said U.S. Army Spc. Bowe Bergdahl "is as far as I know in good condition."Suhail spoke in an exclusive telephone interview with The Associated Press from the newly opened Taliban offices in Doha, Qatar.Bergdahl disappeared in eastern Afghanistan on June 30, 2009.He spoke as the U.S. is scrambling to save talks with the Taliban after angry complaints from President Hamid Karzai.The prisoner exchange is the first item on the Taliban's agenda before even opening peace talks, said Suhail, who is a top Taliban figure and served as first secretary at the Afghan Embassy in the Pakistani capital of Islamabad before the Taliban government's ouster in 2001.Suhail said "first has to be the release of detainees," and after that, the Taliban "want to build bridges of confidence."He offered no details on Bergdahl's current whereabouts.Timothy Marsano, the public affairs officer for the Idaho National Guard who has also served as a spokesman for Bergdahl's family, told CBS News on Thursday the family was "encouraged by the hopeful new development."Marsano said the family learned earlier in the week that negotiations aimed at securing Sgt. Suhail indicated the Taliban could approve of American trainers and advisers for the Afghan troops, saying that "of course, there is cooperation between countries in other things. We need that cooperation."He said that once the Taliban concluded talks with the United States, they would participate in all-inclusive Afghan talks.Suhail ruled out exclusive talks with Karzai's High Peace Council, which has been a condition of the Afghan president who previously said he wanted talks in Doha to be restricted to his representatives and the Taliban. Instead, the Taliban would talk to all Afghan groups, Suhail said."After we finish the phase of talking to the Americans, then we would start the internal phase ... that would include all Afghans," he said. "Having all groups involved will guarantee peace and stability."On Thursday, Karzai's government appeared to throw another spanner into the mix, demanding that Pakistan release imprisoned Afghan Taliban leaders."It is a good time to release these Taliban leaders jailed in Pakistan, and then the Afghan High Peace Council together with them will begin talks with the Taliban inside Afghanistan or in Qatar," a statement from the foreign ministry in Kabul said.It wasn't clear, however, whether the Taliban in Pakistani custody would be willing to participate in peace talks as members of Karzai's council. Abdulqahar Balkhi is one of three main spokespersons for the Afghan Islamic Emirate an Islamic terrorist organization, the same terrorist organization who the five terrorist that Obama released were a part of. This makes the entire story very suspicious. Another one, Khairullah Khairkhwa, was the interior minister in the Taliban regime. He is also one of the most prominent Taliban officials since its inception in 1994, so he is considered one of the most respected and most influential in the movement. He was detained by Pakistani authorities in 2002 and handed over to the United States , according to the same source.The other one, Mullah Norullah Noori, was responsible for Balkh province (north) in the Taliban regime. He was arrested in November 2001.And another one is Abdul Haq Wasiq, deputy director of intelligence in the Taliban regime. Two of the five released are wanted by the UN for war crimes and the Joint Task Force Guantanamo deemed all five of them “high” risks to both the U.S. and its allies.What makes this story even more suspicious, is how, as we learn from an American soldier, Bowe was a deserter who left his post. Former Sergeant Matt Vierkant, a member of Bergdahl’s platoon when he went missing on June 30, 2009, said.I was pissed off then and I am even more so now with everything going on…Bowe Bergdahl deserted during a time of war and his fellow Americans lost their lives searching for him. According to primary accounts from other soldiers, Bowe “shed his weapons and walked off the observation post with nothing more than a compass, a knife, water, a digital camera, and a diary.”We also learn from emails reported by the late Michael Hastings in Rolling Stone in 2012 that Bergdahl’s fellow infantrymen found out within days that Bowe no longer supported the U.S. effort in Afghanistan. Bowe himself said:The future is too good to waste on lies… And life is way too short to care for the damnation of others, as well as to spend it helping fools with their ideas that are wrong. I have seen their ideas and I am ashamed to even be American. The horror of the self-righteous arrogance that they thrive in. It is all revolting.

Bergdahl also wrote in one email:I am sorry for everything. The horror that is America is disgusting.
A former member of Bergdahl’s squad, who goes by “Cody,” shared that local village children in Afghanistan said that Bowe came by their area and “Wanted to meet with Taliban.”Former Pfc. Jose Baggett, 27, who was in Blackfoot Company, said he was close to two men “killed because of his (Bergdahl’s) actions.” Baggett also said:He walked off…He left his guard post. Nobody knows if he defected or he’s a traitor or he was kidnapped. What I do know is he was there to protect us and instead he decided to defer from America and go and do his own thing. I don’t know why he decided to do that, but we spend so much of our resources and some of those resources were soldiers’ lives. Bowe obviously was a mule who was being used by the Taliban to help them ambush American soldiers who were looking for him. Cody revealed:    A huge thing in country is not building patterns. Well when you are looking for a person everyday that creates a pattern. While searching for him, ambushes and IEDs picked up tremendously. Enemy knew we would be coming. IEDs started being placed more effectively in the coming weeks. Ambushes were more calculated, cover and concealment was used Loyal soldiers infuriated because of Bowe’s actions since it led to the deaths of American troops. One soldier said:It was unbelievable… All because of the selfish act of one person. The amount of animosity (toward him) is nothing like you’ve ever seen before. …I don’t understand why we’re trading prisoners at Gitmo for somebody who deserted during a time of war, which is an act of treason In neighboring Pakistan, there is a 72-year-old Jew named Warren Weinstein who was captured by Al Qaeda over two years ago while working as a consultant on US government programs. No one in the government reaches out to rescue that Jew despite that Weinstein sent a video message last December, addressing the US government and said “now when I need my government, it seems that I have been totally abandoned and forgotten.” Obama’s administration has said it will not negotiate with Al Qaeda for Weinstein’s release, but is all ready to negotiate with the Taliban to release terrorists, plus the mule who was sent for the mission. That smile of the fox standing by his mule is telling that Obama has always wanted to shut down Guantanamo.Obama, in his last term, is becoming blatant with his Islamic sympathies.

Among the customs of the holiday is an all-night Torah learning session, topped by morning prayers that began at dawn. Shavuot is also one of the three festivals in which Jews are bidden to “appear before G-d,” visiting the Holy Temple – which is on the Temple Mount. In commemoration of this commandment, many Jews ascend the Mount on the Passover, Sukkot, and Shavuot.Jews attempting to enter the site on Wednesday morning witnessed dozens of armed Arabs who were apparently waiting for the gates to open, planning to being a riot. Police did not intervene to remove the group which appeared to be preparing for a riot, but instead kept Jews off the site. Similar to “Nakba Day” - which mourns the Israeli victory during the 1947-48 War of Independence - Arabs in Israel and Palestinian Authority-controlled areas of Judea and Samaria hold protests and marches “mourning” their losses in the war, and the return of Jews to their historic homeland.Meanwhile, Friday is the day of the planned “Global March to Jerusalem,” in which Arabs from PA areas, Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and other Arab countries embark on a walk to “invade” Jerusalem, attempting to use their sheer numbers to break through Israeli security and “conquer” the city. According to organizers, representatives of 45 countries “will peacefully march on Israeli embassies, or as close to Jerusalem as they can safely get, thus demanding an end to Israeli destruction of world heritage sites and breaches of international law in Jerusalem.”While there is a great deal of hype surrounding both events, they have generally not drawn many participants. The previous Global Marches (this year marks the third one) drew only a few thousand participants each. Israel’s Housing and Construction Ministry on Wednesday published tenders for 1,500 units in the West Bank and East Jerusalem in a move Minister Uri Ariel said was a response to the “Palestinian terror government” established earlier this week.Of the housing projects approved by Ariel’s ministry, over 700 are slated for the Etzion Bloc towns of Efrat and Beitar Illit, another 76 are planned in the town of Ariel, 78 in Alfei Menashe, 155 in Givat Ze’ev, and 400 in the northern Jerusalem neighborhood of Ramat Shlomo. An additional 38 are to be built outside what’s considered the major West Bank settlements blocs, in the West Bank settlement of Geva Binyamin, north of Jerusalem.Referring to the establishment earlier this week of a Palestinian unity government which includes Hamas, an internationally recognized terrorist group, Ariel said the move was an “appropriate Zionist response to the Palestinian terror government.”“The right and obligation of the state of Israel to build across the country in order to reduce the price of housing is not in question, and I believe that these tenders were just the beginning,” the Jewish Home party minister said in a statement.Wednesday’s announcement ended what Israeli officials said had been a “silent freeze” on West Bank construction because of pressure from Washington. The Iron Dome missile defense system attempted its first interception on the northern front Wednesday in a bid to down a mortar launched into the Golan Heights from Syria. No interception was confirmed.Two mortars fired from Syria fell into the Israeli-controlled area of the Golan Heights on Wednesday night. No damage or injuries were caused, the IDF spokesperson reported.The IDF confirmed the mortar fire from Syria, saying it was likely inadvertent.Defense sources told Ynet, however, that the mortars may have been celebratory fire by government forces following the announcement of incumbent Syrian President Basher Assad’s landslide victory in the presidential elections.Wildfires broke out in several areas of the Golan Heights near Alonei Habashan, likely as a result of the mortar fire, and firefighters worked to extinguish the flames.Unconfirmed Syrian rebel reports indicated that Israeli military positions fired on and destroyed two Syrian tanks in response to the mortar fire.
