HOARDING OF GOLD AND SILVER

DOCTOR DOCTORIAN FROM ANGEL OF GOD
then the angel said, Financial crisis will come to Asia. I will shake the world.

JAMES 5:1-3
1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

REVELATION 18:10,17,19
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

EZEKIEL 7:19
19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

REVELATION 13:16-18
16 And he(FALSE POPE) causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:(CHIP IMPLANT)
17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.(6-6-6) A NUMBER SYSTEM

Dow drops nearly 680 on consumer spending worries By SARA LEPRO and TIM PARADIS, AP Business Writer DEC 1,08

NEW YORK – The reality that the nation is indeed in recession and that the downturn may well be prolonged sent Wall Street plunging Monday, hurtling the Dow Jones industrials down nearly 700 points and wiping out more than half of last week's big gains. All the major indicators fell more than 7 percent, with the Standard & Poor's 500 index down nearly 9 percent. The market spent the day absorbing a litany of bad news that convinced investors that the optimism that fed a 1,276-point gain over five sessions was premature. Stocks first slid on initial reports that the first weekend of the holiday shopping season, while better than some retailers and analysts feared, saw only modest gains. That had Wall Street worried that the rest of the season would be disastrous, a troubling possibility not only for retailers but for an economy that is dependent on consumer spending for its growth.According to figures released by ShopperTrak RCT, a research firm that tracks total retail sales at more than 50,000 outlets, sales over Friday and Saturday rose just 1.9 percent.Meanwhile, downbeat economic reports on the manufacturing sector and construction spending only added to investors' concerns. Speeches from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson also did little to assuage investors about the downturn. The day's news reminded investors, who last week were buying on a burst of optimism, that the economy is still in serious trouble. Then, at midday, Wall Street got confirmation of what everyone has suspected for months, that the nation is indeed in a recession. The National Bureau of Economic Research, considered the arbiter of when the economy is in recession or expanding, said the U.S. recession had begun a year ago, in December 2007.

That assessment made the retail sales figures all the more unnerving.Unfortunately, two-thirds of the American economy is based on the spending of the American consumer, said Mike Stanfield, chief executive of VSR Financial Services. When the consumer pulls back, it's very hard for the economy to gain much traction.Investors had been hopeful that last week's rally — when the major indexes shot up by double digit percentages — was a sign that some stability had returned to a market badly shaken by months of discouraging economic data. But analysts expect economic concerns to weigh on the market for some time to come.Everyone knows the recession is on us, the question is now will it be short and shallow or long and severe, Stanfield said.Chuck Widger, chief executive of investment management firm Brinker Capital, expects the volatility to continue until investors have better visibility on the future.Investors are looking for better data on the economy, he said. We've got baked in pretty nasty assumptions for the economy this quarter. The markets are looking ahead to the first quarter for data that will confirm or deny the bad news.

According to preliminary calculations, the Dow Jones industrial average fell 679.95, or 7.70 percent, to 8,149.09. The Standard & Poor's 500 index dropped 80.03, or 8.93 percent, to 816.21, while the Nasdaq composite index fell 137.50, or 8.95 percent, to 1,398.07.Only 218 stocks were in positive territory on the New York Stock Exchange with 2,693 declining. Volume came to 1.62 billion shares. The Russell 2000 index of smaller companies fell 56.07, or 11.85 percent, to 417.07.Bond prices rose. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note, which moves opposite its price, fell to 2.76 percent from 2.92 percent Friday. The yield on the three-month T-bill, considered one of the safest investments and an indicator of investor sentiment, slipped to 0.02 percent from 0.05 percent Friday. The lower the yield, the more anxious investors tend to be.The market received no relief after a pair of speeches from Paulson and Bernanke about the economy.Paulson said the administration is looking for more ways to tap a $700 billion financial rescue program and will consult with Congress and the incoming Obama administration. The program has distributed $150 billion out of the $250 billion earmarked to buy stock in banks as a way to boost their resources so they can lend more.He said the administration is looking at other ways to utilize the rescue package, including alternatives for providing capital to financial institutions. Meanwhile, Bernanke said in another speech Monday that further interest rate cuts are certainly feasible, but he warned there are limits to how much such action would revive the economy. The central bank's key interest rate now stands at 1 percent, a level seen only once before in the last half-century. Many economists predict policymakers will drop the rate again at their next meeting on Dec. 15-16. And, there have certainly been enough weak economic news to compel the Fed to make another cut. There was no shortage of disappointing economic news on Monday. The Institute for Supply Management, a trade group of purchasing executives, said its index of manufacturing activity fell to a 26-year low in November. Meanwhile, the Commerce Department said construction spending fell by a larger-than-expected amount in October. Stanfield also said investors have lost some confidence in recent moves by the government to bolster the financial system. The financials are still lagging, which in my opinion shows a lack of confidence in (Treasury Secretary) Paulson and the undertaking of the Fed and the Treasury, he said. Analysts say investors have been frustrated by the government's change in strategy as it implements its $700 billion financial bailout program; the Treasury originally said it would buy soured mortgage debt from banks, then decided to buy stock in the banks. Last week, with the rescue of Citigroup Inc., the government again said it was buying the bank's failed debt. The government injected a fresh $20 billion into the banking giant and said it would guarantee up to $306 billion of the bank's risky assets. Banking stocks were among the biggest sectors pulling the overall market down on Monday. Citigroup tumbled $1.84, or 22.2 percent, to $6.45. Morgan Stanley shares dropped $3.40, or 23.1 percent, to $11.35. Goldman Sachs Group Inc. fell $13.23, or 16.7 percent, to $65.76. Retailers were among the day's poorest performers. Wal-Mart Stores Inc. fell $2.87, or 5.1 percent, to $53.01, while JCPenney Co. tumbled $2.44, or 12.8 percent, to $16.55. Light, sweet crude dropped $5.15 to settle at $49.28 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange after OPEC decided not to cut production at an informal meeting in Cairo on Saturday. The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, which accounts for about 40 percent of global supply, reduced output quotas in October by 1.5 million barrels a day. The dollar fell against other major currencies. Gold prices also fell. Overseas, Japan's Nikkei stock average fell 1.35 percent. At the close, Britain's FTSE 100 was down 5.19 percent, Germany's DAX index was down 5.88 percent, and France's CAC-40 was down 5.59 percent. Britain closer to euro, Barroso says
LUCIA KUBOSOVA Today DEC 1,08 @ 09:26 CET

The global credit crunch has sparked a debate about joining the euro among people who matter in Britain,European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso has said.

Speaking on a French RTL radio and LCI television show on Sunday (30 November), Mr Barroso argued that the entry to the eurozone of some EU member states who had previously strongly opposed the move is now closer than ever before.I'm not going to break the confidentiality of certain conversations, but some British politicians have already told me, If we had the euro, we would have been better off, he said. I don't mean to say that it will be tomorrow and I know that the majority in Britain are still opposed, but there is a period of consideration under way and the people who matter in Britain are currently thinking about it, the former Portuguese prime minister added.Apart from the countries that joined the EU in 2004 and 2007, the UK is one of three western European member states - along with Sweden and Denmark - that have abstained from joining the common currency, partly due to the views of the current British prime minister Gordon Brown.Despite the Labour party promising to adopt the euro ahead of its election in 1997, current leader and former finance minister Gordon Brown has historically resisted such calls, arguing that the British economy was not ready. He has over the years presented several reports describing how the scrapping of the pound would harm employment and investment in the country's jobs and investment. But according to the head of the EU's executive, the financial crisis has now changed the argument. The pound has suffered from problems in both the financial sector and the real economy, with 2 million jobs in the UK expected to go by the end of this year.A Downing Street spokesperson played down suggestions by Mr Barroso however, saying: We have no comment on this. Our position on the euro is the same - it has not changed, BBC reported.

Iceland considering unilateral euro adoption

A similar debate to that in Britain is a step further in Denmark, with government officials actively explaining to the public the country's cost in not being part of the eurozone, Mr Barroso suggested. Danish Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen said last month that he would try to achieve a broad public consensus on holding a referendum on the euro,, which analysts expect in March or April next year. Meanwhile, Iceland is considering switching to the euro even without a green light from EU institutions and despite their warnings against such a unilateral move.

People are looking into the possibility of [something similar to] dollarisation, or unilateral adoption of the euro, which would probably raise a lot of eyebrows in the European Union, Icelandic Prime Minister Geir Haarde said in an interview on Saturday (29 November), Reuters reported.Mr Haarde said that the issue is an open question at the moment, while noting that the process of joining the EU and the common currency according to the normal procedures and guidelines would take two to three years.Clearly, this debate is not the answer to the current crisis, he said. Until now, the prime minister's Independence Party has been sceptical about EU membership. For its part, the European Commission has warned Reykjavik it cannot adopt the euro without joining the 27-strong Union. The eurozone currently consists of 15 member states, with Slovakia set to join on 1 January 2009.

Manufacturing index drops to 26-year low By CHRISTOPHER S. RUGABER, AP Economics Writer DEC 1,08

WASHINGTON – A measure of U.S. manufacturing activity fell to a 26-year low in November as new orders dropped for the twelfth consecutive month, a trade group said Monday. The Institute for Supply Management's monthly index of manufacturing activity fell to 36.2 from October's 38.9. The reading is worse than Wall Street economists' expectations of 38.4, according to a survey by Thomson Reuters. A figure below 50 indicates the sector is contracting. The November reading is the lowest since May 1982, the ISM said, when the economy was in the midst of a painful recession. The report indicates a continuing rapid rate of contraction in manufacturing, said Norbert Ore, chairman of the ISM's survey committee. The survey's new orders index fell to 27.9 from 32.2, the report said, its lowest level since June 1980. The production index fell to 31.5 from 34.6, its third straight month of decline.Manufacturing employers continue to cut jobs, the survey found. The employment index fell to 34.2 from 34.6, its fourth straight drop.Manufacturers have been hit hard by the housing slump and financial crisis, which have led to cutbacks in business and consumer spending.

Deere & Co., which makes agriculture and construction machinery, has seen its profit fall amid the economic downturn. The Moline, Ill.-based company said last week that its fourth-quarter earnings fell 18 percent and it forecast that profit will drop by 7 percent in 2009.

Economy rebounds, but recession seen By Louise Egan DEC 1,08

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Canada's economy grew at a faster clip than expected in the third quarter, just before the global financial crisis intensified, as a rebound in goods-producing industries offset weak exports and consumer spending.Statistics Canada said on Monday that Canada's gross domestic product expanded 1.3 percent on an annualized basis in the third quarter, beating the market forecast of 1.1 percent growth, after stagnating in the first half of the year. That compares with a U.S. economic contraction of 0.5 percent in the same period. It was a bit better than the market was looking for and pretty close to what we were expecting, so it was a decent third quarter, but I guess it's ancient history given the developments since then, said Craig Wright, chief economist at Royal Bank of Canada. The upbeat numbers come as Prime Minister Stephen Harper faces a serious political crisis over his management of the economy. The three opposition parties have struck a tentative deal to defeat his minority government on December 8 and form a coalition government. They accuse him of not acting quickly enough to inject stimulus into the economy or to aid the auto sector.Finance Minister Jim Flaherty is now forecasting a recession in Canada and expects the economy to contract in the fourth quarter and first quarter of next year. That recession, not the healthy third-quarter growth, is likely to be the focus of the Bank of Canada as it prepares for a December 9 interest rate decision. Markets have priced in a 62 percent chance of a 50 basis-point rate cut next week. The Canadian dollar shrugged off the now-outdated third-quarter report and remained unchanged at C$1.2465 to the U.S. dollar, or 80.22 U.S. cents.

BAD NEWS LOOMING

The world financial crisis intensified in mid-September, the final month of the third quarter, after the bankruptcy of the U.S. investment bank Lehman Bros Holding Inc.We're certainly worried about what's looming through the windshield, said Sal Guatieri, senior economist at BMO Capital Markets.Guatieri expects a 2 percent contraction in the fourth quarter, and said the signs of that slowdown were hidden in the details of the third-quarter report. It doesn't give you much confidence when the two biggest contributors to the growth in that quarter were a buildup in inventories and a big decline in imports, he said. Most of the third-quarter strength was concentrated in July, Statscan said. The economy grew 0.1 percent in September.

Overall in the quarter, exports declined for the fifth straight quarter and consumer spending grew at its weakest pace in almost five years.Imports declined 1.6 percent and businesses accumulated inventories, especially in the auto sector, as consumers curtailed their spending. However, industries boosted their output of goods in the quarter after four straight quarters of declines. Oil and gas extraction activities led the gain, while construction and manufacturing also expanded.(Additional reporting by Toronto Treasury desk; editing by Peter Galloway)

European socialists adopt 2009 manifesto
VALENTINA POP Today DEC 1,08 @ 15:01 CET

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS – European Socialists (PES) have opted for a green discourse in the run up to the 2009 EU elections, when they aim win more votes than the conservative European People's Party (EPP), the party's manifesto has revealed.

Relaunching the European economy by focusing on smart green growth plays a central role in the PES manifesto, People First, adopted at a party council meeting in Madrid on Monday (1 December). We propose a European strategy for smart green growth and jobs that will create 10 million new jobs by 2020 – with two million in the renewable energies sector alone – and help make Europe a world leader in innovation, new green technologies and products, the manifesto reads.Concrete proposals included a more competitive and affordable high-speed rail network between major European cities and regions, as well as an integrated airspace to shorten flying times and making maritime and inland waterway transport cleaner, more efficient and safer for workers and passengers. One new job creating sector, in the PES view, could be the insulation of buildings as part of EU's energy efficiency strategy. We propose active co-operation between the EU, governments, regional and local authorities to help people cope with rising fuel prices by reducing their energy consumption, funding energy efficiency improvements in homes, and ensuring that energy companies' pricing and customer policies are fair and responsible, the document reads. The Socialists also call for an European initiative to expand energy and broadband infrastructure for the purposes of economic modernisation and for EU support from the globalisation fund for businesses who anticipate changes caused by climate change and technological shifts, by helping workers retrain if they lose their jobs as a result of these changes. The European budget should be refocused on smart green growth and meeting future challenges. Because it is a budget of solidarity, it should serve to improve living standards and foster social cohesion and growth throughout Europe as well as supporting convergence of the least-developed EU regions, not least in the new member states, the Socialists said.

Obama-style campaigning against the EPP

Echoing the US Democratic campaign, in which the now president-elect Barack Obama used change as his key messag, the European Socialists also want to portray themselves as a force for change, and denounce the conservative leadership that has dominated EU institutions and national governments over the past five years. The PES formed the largest group in the European Parliament from 1994-1999, but has since fallen behind the center-right EPP, which currently holds 215 seats compared to the EPP's 285.Conservatives have pursued a policy of blind faith in the market and we are now seeing the damage that badly regulated markets can do. But we know we can do something about this. We can relaunch Europe's economy, the socialists said, promising to work for a fairer, safer and greener Europe.PES also took on the EPP rivals for having played on the fear factor in terms of migration policies, instead of offering humane answers to the challenges of legal and illegal immigration.

Climate change will also provoke new migration from the poorest affected regions, which we must address, the Socialists note, saying asylum is a fundamental human right that requires a fair and firm system. The PES supports the free movement of labour, as long as it does not lead to a brain drain from less prosperous regions and reduced social standards or wage cuts designed to give one member state a competitive advantage over others at the expense of workers.

Abolish tax havens

In terms of responding to the current financial and economic crisis, the Socialists propose comprehensive regulation of all financial players, new standards for transparency and disclosure as well as rigorous capital requirements and limits on excessive borrowing and bad loans. Limits are also needed on top executive pay and bonuses, notably so that earnings reflect losses as well as profits. New rules are needed to prevent conflicts of interest, the manifesto reads. We propose to put an end to tax havens, tax avoidance scams and tax evasion, and step up the fight against money laundering in the European Union and globally so that all market actors pay their fair share of tax to the countries in which they operate. The PES also called for an improved European system of supervision by imposing obligations to disclose asset and regulatory structures and to inform investors about risks, the limitation of excess debt financing and restrictions on investments.

DION WILL LEAD THE OVER THROW OF THE CONSERVATIVE GOVERNMENT TO LEAD THE 3 PARTY GOVERNMENT.

Leadership candidates agree to Dion as PM
Updated Mon. Dec. 1 2008 2:02 PM ET CTV.ca News Staff

The three main contenders to replace Liberal Leader Stephane Dion announced on Monday their unanimous agreement that Dion should lead a coalition with the NDP and serve as interim prime minister if the government is brought down. Speaking outside of the Liberal caucus meeting, Dominic LeBlanc, standing shoulder to shoulder with Bob Rae and Michael Ignatieff, said they all back the deal forged with the NDP. The accord that was presented to us received unanimous support and the other issue which is very important is we decided the only person and the best person to lead and form a coalition government is the elected leader of our party, the leader of the opposition Stephane Dion, LeBlanc said. Ignatieff echoed his words, saying the coalition deal is economically responsible, preserves Liberal ideals and upholds Dion as party leader until May, when a leadership convention will be held. We are at one, the three of us, that the only person who can lead the party is the duly elected leader of the party Mr. Stephane Dion, Ignatieff said. Rae described the meeting as historic, positive, upbeat and moving. Earlier Monday the candidates met with Dion, who presented them with the draft agreement that has been negotiated with the New Democrats and the Bloc Quebecois, who would support the coalition from outside of government. They agreed that the terms were good, and they went to the Liberal caucus, where we are told they unanimously said they support Mr. Dion in being the leader, said CTV's Mike Duffy. The current political storm erupted last week after Finance Minister Jim Flaherty unveiled his economic update -- a blueprint that contained no stimulus package, temporarily shut down public servants' ability to strike and outlined plans to slash public funding for political parties. As a confidence motion the fiscal update must pass in the House of Commons or the government would fall. Almost immediately after Flaherty's announcement, opposition parties began meeting to discuss forming a coalition. Details have been in the finalization process over the weekend and on Monday as party members worked to hammer out an agreement to topple the Conservatives.

Economic guidance

CTV's Ottawa Bureau Chief Robert Fife reported earlier Monday that a high-profile, four-person economic panel would guide a Liberal-NDP coalition government on finance matters. The group would comprise Frank McKenna, Paul Martin, John Manley and Roy Romanow. This is a way to assure Canadians the economy would be managed properly, Fife told CTV Newsnet. The panel of wise men would help the new government navigate the current global economic turbulence, he said. The list includes three Liberals and one New Democrat, though none currently hold elected office. McKenna is a former Liberal premier of New Brunswick and ambassador to the U.S., Martin is a former Liberal finance minister and prime minister, Manley is a former Liberal finance minister and foreign affairs minister, and Romanow is a former New Democrat premier of Saskatchewan. Fife reported earlier Monday that the cabinet formed under the coalition would include both Liberal and NDP ministers. The Liberals would take 18 cabinet seats, while the NDP would get six. Fife also reported that the coalition government would introduce a $30-billion economic stimulus package and roll back $50 billion in planned corporate tax cuts. He said that an adviser to NDP Leader Jack Layton informed the party caucus of the plans on Sunday. The conversation was taped by Conservatives.

Tape suggests dissension

The tape also reveals some dissension among New Democrats on the notion of forming a coalition. MP Charlie Angus can be heard saying that NDP efforts to win over the Liberals, rather than the public, are insane and disastrous.Layton then responds by saying that in order to win over the Liberals, the NDP needs to create public support and that it's the Liberals that have all the nervousness and could screw this up.Layton goes on to call the current situation a game of chicken. If it doesn't result in a coalition, Layton says, there are only two other options: either the NDP will have to help support the Conservatives, or there will be another election, less than two months after Canadians went to the polls. And that's the game of chicken that we're trying to get out of, by a much more hopeful alternative, Layton says. New Democrat MP Peter Julian also weighs in on the tape, saying the party must be prepared to drop the deal if it starts to go south. If we don't think this is going to be solid, if we don't think we're going to be able to attain our objectives, the cost of walking away is far, far smaller than the ultimate cost in the long term, Julian says.

Power grab

Conservative Transport Minister John Baird slammed the opposition's moves as nothing more than a back-door power grab. I think this is all about the opposition wanting to take power without an election, Baird told Canada AM. They don't want to earn the right to govern they just want to take it.He said it is insane that the Liberal party, which received its poorest showing since Confederation in the last election, could end up in government. He said the Conservatives wanted to lead by example with their plan to cut political party funding, and are disappointed with the opposition parties for not following suit.

Liberal-NDP officials meet to resolve coalition snags
By The Canadian Press

OTTAWA - The NDP and Liberals are meeting this morning to remove obstacles to a broad agreement on a pact that could topple the Conservative government and install Canada's first coalition government in 91 years. Sources say the two parties have already drafted a blueprint that would see them jointly govern until mid-June 2011, but they would need support from the Bloc Quebecois and the separatist party is not prepared to give them so long a lease on life. Just who leads the Liberal party and the coalition remains far from resolved. Stephane Dion has overseen the negotiations, but he was rejected by voters six weeks ago and has said he will step down after the party chooses a new leader in May. Sources close to Liberal MP and presumed frontrunner Michael Ignatieff say he wants little to do with an agreement he did not oversee that may handcuff him for years if he is elected leader. The Conservatives' frantic efforts to scupper their defeat will include a further release of secretly recorded conversations from a weekend NDP caucus meeting that outlines their wish-list in any coalition government.

90 Percent of U.S. Infant Formula May Be Contaminated with Melamine; FDA Abruptly Declares Chemical Safe for Babies Saturday, November 29, 2008 by: Mike Adams, NaturalNews Editor Key concepts: Melamine, Infant formula and The FDA

(NaturalNews) Up to 90 percent of the infant formula sold in the United States may be contaminated with trace amounts of melamine, the toxic chemical linked to kidney damage, according to recent tests. The FDA's test results, which the agency hid from the public and only released after the Associated Press filed a Freedom of Information Act request, showed that Nestle, Mead Johnson and Enfamil infant formula products were all contaminated with melamine. The AP is also reporting that Abbott Laboratories conducted its own in-house tests that detected trace levels of melamine in its formula products. Together, these infant formula manufacturers make about 90 percent of the infant formula sold in the United States.Prior to these test results being made public, the FDA had published a document on its website that explained there was no safe level of melamine contamination in infant formula. Specifically, the FDA stated, FDA is currently unable to establish any level of melamine and melamine-related compounds in infant formula that does not raise public health concerns.Once tests found melamine in U.S.-made formula products, however, the FDA changed its story. As of today, the FDA has now officially declared melamine to be safe in infant formula as long as the contamination level is less than one part per million (1 ppm).Astonishingly: The FDA has no new science to justify its abrupt decision declaring melamine to be safe!

Protecting Big Business instead of American babies
Rather than being based on science, the FDA's decision appears to be based entirely on creating cover for U.S. infant formula manufacturers whose products were found to be contaminated with melamine. The acceptable level of contamination (1 ppm) is conveniently just above the levels found in U.S. infant formula products, thus placing U.S. infant formula in the safe contamination level category. And yet the FDA has conducted no safety testing whatsoever to determine whether 1ppm of melamine is safe for infants to consume. There is no science involved in this decision whatsoever. Rather than this decision being based on science, the FDA is once again resorting to politically-motivated decisions that seek to protect the profits of Big Business rather than the safety of infants and children.Recall that the FDA also recently declared Bisphenol-A to be safe for infants to consume, even while countries like Canada banned the chemical from baby bottles. The FDA, it seems has never met a corporate-sponsored chemical it didn't like.

Where did the melamine come from?
Laughingly, the FDA claims the 1ppm of melamine in U.S. infant formula must have come from the manufacturing machines or food packaging equipment. And yet the AP is reporting that the expected level of melamine contamination from manufacturing equipment is only 15 ppb (parts per billion). But the FDA's own tests on Mead Johnson infant formula reveal it to contain 245 ppb, or 1600% more than what would be expected to exists due to melamine contamination from manufacturing equipment.

There are two really important questions that any intelligent consumer should be asking about all this:Question #1) If the manufacturing and packaging equipment is contaminated with melamine, does this mean that ALL food products containing milk protein are similarly contaminated? The same companies that make infant formula also make Slim Fast, Ensure and Boost -- all are milk protein-based meal replacement products containing many of the same ingredients as infant formula. Are they contaminated with melamine, too? Question #2) If manufacturing and packaging machinery should only result in melamine contamination levels of 15 ppb, and yet 245 ppb were found in the infant formula, then where did all the extra melamine come from? The FDA has no explanation for this and seems to hope people will forget to ask.

Two theories of melamine contamination
I offer two theories to explain the melamine contamination of these products. Obviously, the contamination could not be caused by the manufacturing and packaging of the product, because the melamine levels already found in U.S. infant formula products greatly exceed the expected levels from such manufacturing and packaging. The following two theories may explain the additional levels of detected melamine.

Theory #1: The infant formula is adulterated with melamine

This is what happened in China: Infant formula manufacturers added melamine to their milk protein to bulk up the product without adding much cost (melamine is much cheaper than milk protein). Because melamine's chemical profile is strikingly similar to milk protein, it can often fool simple protein analysis tests and appear to be legitimate. If infant formula products use any milk protein from China, it could very easily have been adulterated with melamine. However, this is just a theory, and NaturalNews has no evidence that U.S. infant formula manufacturers actually used milk protein from China. Thus, we do not believe Theory #1 to be correct. Theory #2, below, seems more likely.

Theory #2: U.S. dairy operations are using animal feed contaminated with melamine

Because melamine is passed through cow's milk, the contamination of U.S. dairy cows with melamine through their feed could result in high melamine concentrations in the resulting milk proteins.China has already admitted that melamine has been detected in alarming quantities in animal feed there, and tests have already shown chickens to be contaminated with the chemical. The question today is this: Do U.S. dairy farms use animal feed containing ingredients imported from China? If so, then we may have a problem here that's much, much bigger than infant formula. We may have a dairy industry that's producing melamine-contaminated milk, which could mean that virtually all milk, yoghurt, butter and cheese produced in the U.S. might be contaminated with some level of melamine.Again, NaturalNews has no proof that this is the situation, but the melamine must have come from somewhere. It didn't just spontaneously generate in the infant formula as the FDA would seemingly want us to believe. If the milk proteins in infant formula are contaminated with melamine, then it stands to reason that the milk proteins used throughout the food supply may also be contaminated.

We may, indeed, be looking at an industry-wide problem here. Powdered milk, meal replacement products and even milk protein drinks may all be contaminated with melamine at levels similar to the infant formula products.Because you have to follow the logic here: Either the infant formula manufacturers ADDED melamine to their products (highly unlikely), or the entire milk product industry has a melamine problem. You can't logically conclude that these infant formula manufacturers somehow got all the melamine-contaminated milk proteins but everybody else got melamine-free milk proteins. Milk proteins are a commodity in the food industry, and milk from thousands of different cows can all be mixed together in a single pound of milk protein. What could be happening here is that one dairy farm may have highly-contaminated cows because it used cheap feed fillers from China. At this point, this is all just a theory, but it's a theory that makes sense. It makes a lot more sense than the FDA's theory that there's no problem and babies should just keep drinking melamine (and Bisphenol-A, for that matter...) and the press should stop asking questions.

Secret tests and public lies
There's no doubt that these infant formula manufacturers are pursuing the very same contamination theories I'm describing here. They're probably scrambling to test their milk protein sources, trying to figure out where all the extra melamine is coming from.As usual, they'll try to keep the test results secret, preventing this from exploding into a much larger public health issue. The FDA, for its part, will continue to conduct any actual science in secret, preventing the public from knowing the tests results unless it is sued by organizations like the AP.That's assuming the FDA conducts any science at all, because now the FDA believes it can declare contaminants to be safe at a level it just invents on the spot, without conducting any science whatsoever. The FDA is playing Wheel of Fortune with public safety (http://www.naturalnews.com/023681.html), and it's relying on guessing games - rather than actual science - to declare safety levels of chemicals it doesn't even understand. The upshot of all this is really quite simple: People who feed their babies manufactured, mainstream infant formula products are fools! If there was ever a reason to breastfeed your baby, this is it. And if you're looking for truly safe infant formula products, go with natural brands such as Genesis Organics Goat Milk Formula (www.GenesisOrganics.com) or other natural brands that don't use cheap cow's milk proteins. After all, it's quite clear at this point that the FDA doesn't care about your baby's health. You're the only one who can protect your baby from melamine. The FDA flat out refuses to do so. In fact, it's doing the opposite by declaring melamine to be safe!So stop buying conventional infant formula products and start feeding your baby what it was meant to consume: Human breast milk from a healthy, well-nourished mom who eats lots of omega-3 oils and superfoods. That's the best infant formula in the world. And by the way, human babies shouldn't be drinking bovine milk in the first place. The whole infant formula industry was a scam long before melamine came along. Now it's a contaminated scam.

Militants have power to start regional war: Zardari
By Rina Chandran DEC 1,08

MUMBAI (Reuters) - Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari has appealed to India not to punish his country for last week's attacks in Mumbai, saying militants have the power to precipitate a war in the region, the Financial Times reported on Monday.
Zardari, whose wife Benazir Bhutto was assassinated by Islamist militants last year, warned that provocation by rogue non-state actors posed the danger of a return to war between the nuclear-armed neighbors.Even if the militants are linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba, who do you think we are fighting? asked Zardari in an interview with the Financial Times. We live in troubled times where non-state actors have taken us to war before, whether it is the case of those who perpetrated (the) 9/11 (attacks on the United States) or contributed to the escalation of the situation in Iraq, said Zardari. Now, events in Mumbai tell us that there are ongoing efforts to carry out copycat attacks by militants. We must all stand together to fight out this menace.

The Mumbai assaults that killed nearly 200 people bore the hallmarks of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based group blamed for previous attacks in India.Indian officials have said most, perhaps all, of the 10 Islamist attackers who held Mumbai hostage with frenzied attacks using assault rifles and grenades came from Pakistan, a Muslim nation carved out of Hindu-majority India in 1947.The fallout from the three-day rampage in Mumbai, India's commercial center, has threatened to unravel India's improving ties with Pakistan and prompted the resignation of India's security minister.

RICE VISIT

The White House said on Sunday that Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice would travel to India on Wednesday, as analysts warned the United States could get ensnared in the row and it may prove to be a setback in the war on Islamic radicals on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.Secretary Rice's visit to India is a further demonstration of the United States' commitment to stand in solidarity with the people of India as we all work together to hold these extremists accountable," White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said in a statement.Rice will arrive in New Delhi on Wednesday after attending a NATO meeting in London on Tuesday.New Delhi has said it was raising security to a war level and had no doubt of a Pakistani link to the attacks, which unleashed anger at home over the intelligence failure and the delayed response to the violence that paralyzed India's financial capital.Officials in Islamabad have warned any escalation would force it to divert troops to the Indian border and away from a U.S.-led anti-militant campaign on the Afghan frontier.

Zardari has vowed to crack down if given proof.

But security officials in Islamabad said Pakistan would move troops from its western border with Afghanistan, where forces are battling al Qaeda and Taliban fighters as part of the U.S.-led campaign against militancy, to the Indian border if tension escalated. It's part of the usual blackmail of the United States that Pakistan does to take more interest in India-Pakistan issues, said B. Raman, a former head of Indian intelligence agency RAW.They think this kind of argument will make the United States sit up and take notice of their sensitivities and do something about it, he added, referring to warming ties between Washington and New Delhi, including a nuclear accord.Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Sunday he would boost and overhaul the nation's counterterrorism capabilities, an announcement which came after Federal Home Minister Shivraj Patil resigned over the attacks.(Reporting by New Delhi, Mumbai and Islamabad bureau; Writing by Jeremy Laurence; Editing by Jerry Norton)

GLOBAL JIHAD Murdered rabbi foresaw Mumbai attacks,Jewish leader banned photos of his building, believing terrorists were seeking intel November 30, 2008
5:12 pm Eastern By Aaron Klein 2008 WorldNetDaily

Mumbai's Chabad House

JERUSALEM – A rabbi killed in last week's coordinated terrorist raids in India was so fearful his Jewish outreach center would be attacked he forbade media photographers from snapping pictures inside the building, believing terrorists were seeking information on the building's layout. [Rabbi Holtzberg] constantly spoke of his fear of a terrorist attack in the Chabad House, said Meie Alfasi, a photographer for Shterum.org, a news website affiliated with the Chabad Lubavitch Jewish outreach movement. Once I wanted to bring a Reuters photographer to document the Chabad House activities, but he was adamantly against the idea, said Alfasi. He said that he was afraid of pictures, afraid of photographers and afraid of unnecessary public exposure that could harm the Chabad House that is located in a very sensitive area, said Alfasi, who spent time a few months ago India, staying for a few days at the home of the Holtzbergs. Gavriel Holtzberg, his wife, Rivka, and three other Israelis, as well as a Jews from the U.S. and Mexico, were killed after terrorists stormed Nariman House, a building in the heart of Mumbai's tourist center where the Chabad headquarters is located. The Holtzbergs had duel U.S. and Israeli citizenship. It was not immediately clear whether the Jews were killed by terrorists or during an ensuing raid on the Chabad house by Indian security forces. A top Chabad official, speaking to WND on condition of anonymity, said he believes the Indian forces were not competent. The official was in close coordination during last week's drama with Indian officials as well as Israel's foreign ministry and the FBI.

Levi Shemtov, executive director of Chabad in Washington, D.C., told Israel's Army Radio yesterday he talked several times by phone with one of the terrorists holed up inside Nariman House. He said a terrorist answered Holzberg's cell phone and claimed the hostages inside were all alive. I tried and tried and tried, and in the end someone answered and said, hello, Shemtov said. Shemtov explained the man who answered said he was an Urdu speaker, so Shemtov found an Urdu translator and dialed again. The man who answered sounded very calm and said his name was Imran. He didn't want to tell me what he wanted. He said the rabbi was OK, everyone was OK, that if they did what he wanted he would free them, Shemtov said. Shemtov said the terrorist wanted to speak to the Indian government. He said he asked the man not to hurt the hostages and promised to help him get in touch with Indian officials. I asked if we could hear the voice of the rabbi, or someone who was alive there, and we only heard the voice of one woman screaming in English, please help immediately, he said. I asked him to pass the phone to the rabbi. He said, You've already asked for too much.

Eventually, Shemtov said, the assailant said the cell phone battery was dying and hung up. During the initial attack, the Chabad center's cook, Sandra Samuel, managed to escape with the Holtzberg's 1-year-old son, Moshe. I took the child, I just grabbed the baby and ran out, said Samuel. She said that the rabbi and his wife, along with two other unidentified guests, were alive but were unconscious.

Chabad house targeted

Israeli security officials piecing together the events of last week confirmed that information indicated the Chabad house was specifically targeted in the attack amid reports terrorists may have even stayed at Nariman House to scope out the Jewish facilities. Yesterday, the Times of India reported Amir Kasab, 21, the only terrorist captured by Indian authorities following the Mumbai attacks, told interrogators during questioning that he and his men were sent specifically to kill Israelis, claiming they were committing revenge attacks for atrocities against Palestinians. One security source told the Times that Kasab's colleagues killed in the operation had stayed at the Nariman House in the past. They have stayed in Nariman house on rental basis identifying themselves as Malaysian students, said a source. Police were trying to determine why Nariman House rooms were given to non-Jews, the Times of India reported. The report claimed that Kasab also revealed during questioning names and addresses of at least five people living in India who provided assistance to the terrorists in carrying out the attacks. Joint Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria told the Times of India, We suspect there could be local assistants, but it is subject to verification. It will be very premature to comment on this at this stage, as our investigation is going on.Meanwhile, Indian newspapers reacted harshly to criticism from Israeli defense officials regarding the manner in which Indian forces raided the Chabad house and other terrorist targets throughout Mumbai, including luxury hotels, a popular restaurant, hospitals, a cinema and a crowded train station. Israeli and international media quoted Israeli security officials stating the Indian raid operations were premature and were carried out before collecting enough intelligence on the terrorists and hostages inside. The Israeli criticism was carried prominently by the Indian media. Israel's Haaretz newspaper yesterday quoted Indian newspapers reacting angrily to the Israeli criticisms, claiming Israel has a bad record in other hostage-rescue operations, aside from a successful 1978 operation in which Israeli forces saved Jewish hostages held at an airport in Entebbe. India's 60-hour terror rampage began last Wednesday night and ended Saturday when commandos killed the last three gunmen holed inside a luxury hotel. The official death count stood at 195, but is likely to rise after security forces complete a search of rooms at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The assaults are being described by local media as Mumbai's 9/11.In addition to the Chabad center and several five-star hotels, terrorists reportedly armed with assault rifles, hand grenades and explosives attacked a popular cafe packed with tourists, a local Metro Cinema, a crowded train station and a hospital. In one case, a police van was stolen and gunmen opened fire in the street indiscriminately. The terrorists reportedly arrived at India's financial and tourist capital by boat before fanning out to launch the series of bloody attacks.

EU-China relations continue to fray
PHILIPPA RUNNER Today DEC 1,08 @ 09:29 CET

EU relations with China continued to deteriorate over the weekend, as EU leaders criticised Beijing for cancelling Monday's (1 December) summit and for executing Austrian-educated scientist Wo Weihan on spy charges. We know that China is extremely sensitive when it comes to Tibet and relations with the Dalai Lama. But frankly there was no reason for this decision [to cancel the summit], European Commission head Jose Manuel Barroso said on France's RTL radio on Sunday. He [the Dalai Lama] has the right to meet whoever he wants. The remarks come after China last week called off the 11th EU-China summit in protest at French President Nicolas Sarkozy's plan to meet the Dalai Lama while in Poland on Saturday. The Dalai Lama - a leading advocate of autonomy for Tibet, which has remained in Chinese hands since 1951 - will also address the European Parliament on Thursday. The EU's top diplomat, Javier Solana, on Friday also rebuked Beijing for executing 59-year old biochemist Wo Weihan - whose daughters are Austrian citizens - on charges of passing secrets to Taiwan.Mr Weihan was killed with a shot to the head the same day the EU had urged China to reconsider his case at an EU-China human rights council in the Chinese capital. This execution seriously undermines the spirit of trust and mutual respect required for this EU-China dialogue on human rights, Mr Solana's office said.

This behaviour must in this regard be considered by the entire EU as a premeditated affront, Austrian foreign minister Ursula Plassnik added. The Chinese reaction to the EU reprimands has been equally caustic.[France] wants to play the Tibet card and at the same time maintain good economic trade relations with China, which is very difficult to achieve, Chinese state-sanctioned analyst Feng Zongping wrote in the official China Daily newspaper on Saturday.China doesn't want the West to think that OK, we will meet the Dalai Lama and business will go on as usual.EU-China relations usually revolve around trade, with the EU buying €231 billion worth of goods from China last year and exporting €72 billion in return. But human rights concerns came to the fore during the Beijing Olympics, when scores of EU leaders stayed away from the opening ceremony after Chinese troops shot Tibetan protestors.China is also unhappy that the EU continues to uphold an arms export embargo dating back to the 1989 Tiananmen square massacre. The latest summit and death penalty row could play into the hands of European leaders keen to restrict the flow of Chinese imports during the EU's economic downturn, experts warn.Protectionist sentiment toward China in Europe has been growing for a while, Center for European Reform analyst Katinka Barysch wrote in the Wall Street Journal.Anti-China sentiment is on the rise in Germany ...Even in traditionally liberal Britain, people who see China as an economic threat outnumber those who see it as an opportunity by four to one.

DANIEL 7:23-25
23 Thus he said, The fourth beast (EU,REVIVED ROME) shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth,(7TH WORLD EMPIRE) which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.(TRADING BLOCKS)
24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings(10 NATIONS) that shall arise: and another shall rise after them;(#11 SPAIN) and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.( BE HEAD OF 3 NATIONS)

DANIEL 8:23-25
23 And in the latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a king (EU DICTATOR) of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences,(FROM THE OCCULT) shall stand up.
24 And his power shall be mighty, but not by his own power:(SATANS POWER) and he shall destroy wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practise, and shall destroy the mighty and the holy people.
25 And through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall also stand up against the Prince of princes;(JESUS) but he shall be broken without hand.

DANIEL 11:36-39
36 And the king (EU DICTATOR) shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers,(THIS EU DICTATOR IS JEWISH) nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.(CLAIM TO BE GOD)
38 But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces:(WAR) and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
39 Thus shall he do in the most strong holds with a strange god,(DESTROY TERROR GROUPS) whom he shall acknowledge and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many,(HIS ARMY LEADERS) and shall divide the land for gain.

UN chief backs EU Congo force
LEIGH PHILLIPS Today DEC 1,08 @ 09:29 CET

The United Nations secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, wants a temporary EU force to be sent to the Democratic Republic of Congo until a UN contingent can be deployed.

Belgium's foreign minister, Karel De Gucht, said on Belgian television that he had talked to the UN leader about the matter in New York, amid concerns that while the UN Security Council backed sending a further 3,000 peacekeepers of its own, the extra deployment would take some time.So the UN hopes that an European military force could come and fill in the gap during this period, the Belgian foreign minister told VRT news on Sunday (30 November). The UN head believes such an EU force would need to stay for between three and six months ahead of the UN deployment. In August, fighting broke out between Tutsi rebels under Laurent Nkunda and the armed forces of the DR Congo (French acronym FARDC), displacing some 250,000 civilians, according to the UN, joining the 1 million already displaced as a result of the long-standing regional conflict over mineral resources. Both the Congolese forces and the FARDC have carried out serious human rights abuses against civilians. On Wednesday (27November), Belgium, Congo's former colonial master, committed itself to participating in any EU force deployed in the region. If this were a European operation with a very well defined command structure and rules of engagement, yes, my country would be ready to participate in this with troops, Mr De Gucht told reporters, according to Reuters.

Some EU states, notably Germany, are opposed to such a mission for EU forces, backing instead greater support for NGOs in the region.NATO is also expected to discuss the matter further next week. The Belgian minister also said he would investigate any Belgian companies involved in the Coltan trade in Congo.Coltan, a metallic ore from which tantalum is extracted, has bankrolled much of the long-standing conflict in the region. The growth in demand in the metal for mobile phones, laptops, digital cameras and video consoles over the past decade has only exacerbated the situation.Tackling the sources of financing of armed groups could turn out to be more effective than any other military strategy, Mr De Gucht said.

GENESIS 6:11-13
11 The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence.
12 And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

2 PETER 2:5
5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;

2 PETER 3:7

GENESIS 16:11-12
11 And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.

ISAIAH 33:1,18-19 Woe to thee that spoilest,(destroys) and thou wast not spoiled;(destroyed) and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! when thou shalt cease to spoil,(destroy) thou shalt be spoiled;(destroyed) and when thou shalt make an end to deal treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.
18 Thine heart shall meditate terror. Where is the scribe? where is the receiver? where is he that counted the towers?
19 Thou shalt not see a fierce people, a people of a deeper speech than thou canst perceive; of a stammering tongue, that thou canst not understand.

2 They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service.

India clears bodies from last Mumbai siege site By JENNY BARCHFIELD, Associated Press Writer DEC 1,08

MUMBAI, India – Soldiers removed the last bodies from the shattered Taj Mahal hotel Monday as India formally demanded Pakistan take strong action against those behind the 60-hour seige that left at least 172 people dead. The United States, meanwhile, called on Pakistan to fully cooperate with investigations into the attack, which India has blamed on a banned Pakistani militant group. Mumbai's most influential Muslim cemetery rejected the corpses of nine of the gunmen and said Islam does not permit this sort of barbaric crime. The three-day terror attack was apparently carried out by just 10 gunmen and exposed the weakness of India's security forces. The country's top law enforcement official resigned amid growing criticism that the attackers appeared better trained, better coordinated and better armed than police. Two provincial officials offered to step down on Monday. An Indian police official said the only gunman captured alive after the attacks claimed to belong to Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistani militant group with links to the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir. The group has long been seen as a creation of the Pakistani intelligence service.Pakistan must follow the evidence wherever it leads, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said in London. This is a time for complete, absolute, total transparency and cooperation and that's what we expect.

She said the perpetrators of attacks must be brought to justice. In India, Pakistan's high commissioner to the country was called to the foreign ministry and told that elements from Pakistan had carried out the attacks, ministry spokesman Vishnu Prakash told reporters. The commissioner was told that India expects that strong action would be taken against those elements, Prakash said.Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari said the men who attacked India's financial and entertainment capital had no links to any government. He called the attackers non-state actors, and warned against letting their actions lead to greater enmity in the region.Such a tragic incident must bring opportunity rather than the defeat of a nation, Zardari said in an interview with Aaj television. We don't think the world's great nations and countries can be held hostage by non-state actors. The top provincial official, Vilasrao Deshmukh, offered to resign Monday, as did his deputy, R.R. Patil, who outraged many by referring to the attacks as small incidents. In Mumbai, security forces declared the landmark 565-room Taj Mahal hotel — the scene of Saturday's final battle — cleared of booby traps and bodies. We were apprehensive about more bodies being found. But this is not likely — all rooms in the Taj have been opened and checked, said Maharashtra state government spokesman Bhushan Gagrani. The army had already cleared other sites, including the five-star Oberoi hotel and the Mumbai headquarters of an ultra-Orthodox Jewish group. Israeli emergency workers sorted through the shattered glass and splintered furniture at the Jewish center Monday to gather the victims' body parts. At one point, one of the men opened a prayer book amid the rubble and stopped to pray.Joint Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria said the sole gunman known to have survived the attack, Ajmal Qasab, said he was trained at a camp in Pakistan. The announcement blaming militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba threatened to escalate tensions between India and Pakistan. However, Indian officials have been cautious about accusing Pakistan's government of complicity.Foreign Ministry spokesman Vishnu Prakash denied a news report that India was preparing to end a 2003 cease-fire with Pakistan. An intelligence official, speaking on customary condition of anonymity, said there was no unusual mobilization of troops along the India-Pakistan border.

The group the Indians have blamed, Lashkar, was banned in Pakistan in 2002 under pressure from the U.S., a year after Washington and Britain listed it a terrorist group. It is since believed to have emerged under another name, Jamaat-ud-Dawa, though that group has denied links to the Mumbai attack. A Muslim graveyard in Mumbai on Monday rejected the bodies of the nine dead attackers. People who committed this heinous crime cannot be called Muslim, said Hanif Nalkhande, a trustee of the influential Jama Masjid Trust, which runs the 7.5-acre (three-hectare) Badakabrastan graveyard in downtown Mumbai. Islam does not permit this sort of barbaric crime. While some Muslim scholars disagreed with the decision — saying Islam requires a proper burial for every Muslim — the city's other Muslim graveyards are likely to do the same. Mumbai returned to normal Monday to some degree, with parents dropping their children off at school and many shopkeepers opened their doors for the first time since the attacks began. I think this is the first Monday I am glad to be coming to work, said Donica Trivedi, 23, an employee of a public relations agency. Indian officials said their country would not be broken. This is a threat to the very idea of India, the very soul of India, Palaniappan Chidambaram, the just-named home minister, the country's top law enforcment official, told reporters. Ultimately the idea of India — that is a secular, plural, tolerant and open society — will triumph.India's previous home minister resigned Sunday, as more details of the response to the attack emerged and a picture formed of woefully unprepared security forces. These guys could do it next week again in Mumbai and our responses would be exactly the same, said Ajai Sahni, head of the New Delhi-based Institute for Conflict Management and who has close ties to India's police and intelligence. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh promised to strengthen maritime and air security and look into creating a new federal investigative agency. Singh promised to expand the commando force and set up new bases for it around the country. He called a rare meeting of leaders from the country's main political parties, hours after the resignation of Home Minister Shivraj Patil. Among the 19 foreigners killed were six Americans. The dead also included Germans, Canadians, Israelis and nationals from Britain, Italy, Mexico, Japan, China, Thailand, Australia, Singapore and Mexico. Indian stocks fell sharply on the first day of trading after the end of the siege. The Bombay Stock Exchange Sensitive Index, or Sensex, closed down 252.85 points, or about 2.8 percent. While the attacks could keep tourists and foreign investors away, some analysts attributed Monday's declines to shock and anxiety in the immediate aftermath rather than a loss of confidence in India's economic prospects. Associated Press reporters Ravi Nessman, Paul Peachey, Anita Chang and Ramola Talwar Badam contributed to this report from Mumbai, Ashok Sharma contributed from New Delhi and Asif Shahzad from Islamabad, Pakistan.

How does Atlas grow? Google search is one critically important way. People find Atlas when they do a word search in google ie Obama birth certificate, Obama odinga, honor killings, Obama campaign finance fraud - stories that I broke or did groundbreaking work on and Atlas is usually in the top five of the search results. That's how folks find my work and generally I keep 15-20% of them as return readers. Regular Atlas readers know the media refuses to cover these stories - building readership is the only way to boost awareness in this increasingly dangerous world.

A couple of days ago I was wiped off google search pages. Yes, if you google Pamela Geller or Atlas Shrugs, I come up, that is not the issue. My work is not there, it does not come up in google's search results. It is critical to building Atlas that I be searchable.Youtube searches are still intact as are images.Further my google search box (left sidebar) which I use almost constantly to search my site for reasearch (as do my readers) has been dramtically affaected. Input any term, any word in my search box and the same thing comes up - FORBIDDEN. I have had to hire a separate security/consulting firm to get me back online. It is costly. I need your help. Anything you could contribute to help offset the cost - it's a lot of hours would be greatly appreciated.

THE GOOGLE OBAMA CONNECTION:

Owen Thomas, editor of the Silicon Valley gossip blog Valleywag, has penned a reasoned argument as to how Google is winning political influence in the wake of this month's presidential election. In the column he wrote, he takes a sharp-tongued look at how CEO Eric Schmidt appears to be trying to win and use influence in the new Washington.

Schmidt is savvy enough to realize that YouTube's growing prominence as a media outlet could help the company become a larger political player -- which is why the site sponsored two campaign debates. Traffic? Come on. YouTube hardly needs the help.

Thomas concludes:

In that light, isn't there something that stinks about handing the president's weekly addresses to a single commercial outlet controlled by a political ally of the president? Obama's YouTube chats amount to a large, unspoken, behind-the-scenes government kickback. Every election has something dirty about it. And there's no question Google won this contest.

UPDATE: Google CEO Could Be Obama's Tech Advisor

Rumor has it that Google CEO Eric Schmidt will be occupying the newly-formed tech advisor position to the president of the United States. Barack Obama created this position just shortly before visiting the Google headquarters during his campaign, and some believe that the reason this happened was because the job was promised to Schmidt.

The head of Google endorsed the Democratic candidate throughout the elections, though the ads the company posted on various sites were mostly Republican. However, Google employees donated far more to Obama's campaign than they did for John McCain – about $487,355, and $20,600 respectively, as estimated by the Wall Street Journal.

Me thinks it was the birth certificate story .... I broke it. I have the forensics.

UPDATE: From reader Mairi:

After checking the online support site, I found out there is NO WAY to access information on WHY a site has been deemed "Forbidden" or HOW to get the problem corrected.

I phoned google again. The young no named woman stated that NO PERSON handles the problem, and NO ONE would take my call. When I told her I had been to the support site, and there was NO WAY to get info or support there, she stated that was my ONLY option.

The rest of the conversation was something like this:
Me: Someone had to have made a conscious decision to label the info on the Atlas site Forbidden
She: I don't know who that person would be, I cannot release any name information, and if there is no support online, than there is no support, we don't do tech support, and there is no one I can transfer you to who does tech support.
Me: Someone made the decision to label the site info Forbidden, who do I contact to straighten this out?
She: I cannot give you any other information. I don't have any one to transfer you to. Me: So if a site has been labeled Forbidden, then that decision has been handed down, and there is nothing else that can be done?
She: I would guess so.
Me: google STINKS! Mairi

Brother of Mumbai terror victim Bentzion Chroman says he was murdered after stopping to pray at Chabad House; Friends who found him said his prayer book was still open, says brother. Yocheved Orpaz's sister: She was a good fairy Avi Cohen Latest Update: 11.29.08, 21:47 / Israel News. 48 horrific hours: Bloodstained prayer books, upturned tables and chairs, and blown-up walls serve as a silent testament to the horror at the Chabad House in Mumbai – the site of a terror attack that left at least eight Jews dead. The Foreign Ministry told Ynet Saturday evening that up to nine bodies were found at the site, including six that were already identified. An Israeli forensic team may head to India in order to assist teams at the scene in identifying more victims. He is survived by his wife and three children, aged five, two, and two months. Chroman was sent to Mumbai to serve as a kashrut observer, and his brother said he stopped at the Chabad House for prayer.

More bodies identified at Mumbai Jewish center / Ronen Medzini, Foreign Ministry says remains of eight people located in Chabad offices in Mumbai following terror attack .Friends who found him told me his prayer book was still open, Chroman's brother told Ynet. He was sent to India on a one-time trip. He was supposed to fly two weeks before that but the trip was delayed because of visa requirements.

He was a good man

Meanwhile, friends and relatives are mourning the death of Yocheved Orpaz, also killed at the Chabad House. Her sister, Orly, told Ynet that Yocheved traveled to India to visit her daughter and two grandchildren who were traveling there. She was an amazing and noble woman, a good fairy and a mother of four, Orly said. She loved to travel. We were waiting for a miracle. We spent Shabbat together, until the bad news arrived.Leibish Teitlebaum, another terror victim at the Chabad House, resided in Jerusalem's Mea Shearim neighborhood, and traveled to India as a kashrut supervisor. His close friend, Yoel Steinmetz, told Ynet: He was always upbeat, even when bad things would happen…he would welcome everyone happily, host guys that arrived from abroad for Shabbat, feed them, and bring everyone closer. He was a good man.We would regularly see him talking to poor people and encouraging them,Steinmetz said. I loved him very much…last night already I had a bad feeling that there was no chance he was alive.First Published: 11.29.08, 21:18

India security chief resigns after Mumbai attacks By PAUL PEACHEY, Associated Press Writer NOV 30,08

MUMBAI, India – With corpses still being pulled from a once-besieged hotel, India's top security official resigned Sunday as the government struggled under growing accusations of security failures following terror attacks that killed 174 people.

Home Minister Shivraj Patil, who has become highly unpopular during a long series of terror attacks across India, submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who accepted it, according to the president's office. The Cabinet reshuffle comes as a chorus of criticism about the government's handling of the Mumbai attacks grows louder. Our Politicians Fiddle as Innocents Die, read a headline Sunday in the Times of India newspaper.A day after the siege ended, authorities were still removing victims bodies from the ritzy Taj Mahal hotel, where three suspected Muslim militants made a last stand before Indian commandos killed them in a blaze of gunfire and explosions. On Sunday, the waterfront landmark, popular among foreign tourists and Indian high society, was surrounded by metal barricades, its shattered windows boarded over. At the iconic Gateway of India basalt arch nearby, a shrine of candles, flowers and messages commemorated victims. We have been to two funerals already, Mumbai resident Karin Dutta said as she placed a small bouquet of white flowers for several friends killed in the hotel. We're going to another one now.The rampage was carried out by gunmen at 10 sites across Mumbai starting Wednesday night. At least 239 were wounded. One site, the Cafe Leopold, a famous tourist restaurant and the scene of one of the first attacks, opened Sunday for the first time since the mayhem — but police asked it to close just minutes later because they said the eatery needed permission first.Mirrors, doors and paneling were riddled with bullet holes from the assault that killed seven people there.I want them (the attackers) to feel we have won, they have lost, restaurant manager Farzad Jehani said of the symbolic opening. We're back in action.

The death toll was revised down Sunday from 195 after authorities said some bodies were counted twice, but they said it could rise again as areas of the Taj Mahal were still being searched. Among the dead were 18 foreigners, including six Americans. Nine gunmen were killed. The dead also included Germans, Canadians, Israelis and nationals from Britain, Italy, Japan, China, Thailand, Australia and Singapore.A previously unknown Muslim group called Deccan Mujahideen — a name suggesting origins inside India — has claimed responsibility for the attacks that killed more than 170 people. But Indian officials said the sole surviving gunman, now in custody, was from Pakistan and voiced suspicions of their neighbor.Pakistan denied it was involved and demanded evidence. The assaults have raised fears among U.S. officials about a possible surge in violence between Pakistan and India. The nuclear-armed rivals have fought three wars against each other, two over the disputed region of Kashmir.Prime Minister Singh called a rare meeting of leaders from the country's main political parties to discuss the situation Sunday. As officials pointed the finger at elements in Pakistan, public ire over the government's actions widened.

People are worried, but the key difference is anger, said Rajesh Jain, chief executive officer at a brokerage firm, Pranav Securities. Does the government have the will, the ability to tackle the dangers we face? But J.K. Dutt, director general of India's elite commandos, brushed off criticism that his unit, which had to fly from New Delhi to Mumbai, was slow to respond to the attacks. There was no delay, he told reporters Sunday. But Patil, the former home minister, succumbed to the mounting criticism of the government's inability to prevent repeated terrorist attacks. To replace him, Singh tapped Finance Minister Palaniappan Chidambaram, a Harvard-educated lawyer who has been one of the most prominent faces in the administration. Chidambaram, 63, served as Minister of Internal Security in the 1980s under slain Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi. Authorities say the gunmen may have arrived in Mumbai on a trawler that was found abandoned and drifting off the coast with a bound corpse aboard a day after the attacks started. The government suspects they then transferred to a dinghy and docked at a fishermen's colony near the two hotels and Jewish center targeted in the assaults. Local fishermen were suspicious of the group of young men, police inspector Dattatray Rajbhog said. The fishermen shouted at them and asked who they were and where they had come from. But they abused them and fled, he said. Suspicions in Indian media quickly settled on the militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba, long seen as a creation of the Pakistani intelligence service to help wage its clandestine war against India in disputed Kashmir. A U.S. counterterrorism official said some signatures of the attack were consistent with Lashkar and Jaish-e-Mohammed, another group that has operated in Kashmir. Both are reported to be linked to al-Qaida. President George W. Bush pledged full U.S. support for the investigation, saying the killers will not have the final word. FBI agents were sent to India to help with the probe. It was the country's deadliest terrorist act since 1993 serial bombings in Mumbai killed 257 people. Associated Press writers Ravi Nessman, Ramola Talwar Badam, Erika Kinetz and Anita Chang contributed to this report from Mumbai, and Foster Klug and Lara Jakes Jordan contributed from Washington.

51 protesters wounded in Thailand explosions By AMBIKA AHUJA, Associated Press Writers NOV 30,08

Sunday, Nov. 30, 2008, at Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok. … BANGKOK, Thailand – Attackers set off explosions at anti-government protest sites Sunday, wounding 51 people and raising fears of widening confrontations in Thailand's worst political crisis that has strangled its economy and shut down its main airports. The first blast occurred inside Prime Minister Somchai Wongsawat's office compound, which protesters seized in August and have held ever since. Suriyasai Katasiya, a spokesman for the protest group, said a grenade landed on the roof of a tent where protesters were resting, rolled down to the ground and exploded. At least 49 people were injured, said Surachet Sathitniramai at the Narenthorn Medical Center. He said nine were hospitalized, including four in serious condition.Twenty-minutes after that attack, two more blasts rocked an anti-government television station but there were no injuries, Suriyasai said.In another pre-dawn strike, an explosive device detonated on the road near the main entrance to Bangkok's Don Muang domestic airport. Surachet and an Associated Press television cameraman said two people were wounded. No one claimed responsibility for the blasts but Suriyasai blamed the government.

Tensions were rising as a pro-government group prepared to hold a rally in the heart of Bangkok later Sunday to express its support for Somchai, who is operating out of the northern city of Chiang Mai.Government spokesman Nattawut Sai-Kua denied rumors that Somchai had left the country, saying he was definitely in Chiang Mai and had no plans to go abroad in the near future. The prime minister has been reluctant to use force to evict the demonstrators from the People's Alliance for Democracy, who on Tuesday night overran Suvarnabhumi airport, the country's main international gateway.

The alliance seized Bangkok's domestic airport a day later, severing the capital from all commercial air traffic and virtually paralyzing the government.National police deputy chief Lt. Gen. Pongpat Pongjaroen said police have begun negotiations with the protesters to end the standoff, but alliance leader Chamlong Srimuang denied it.The alliance says it will not give up until Somchai resigns, accusing him of being a puppet of ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra, the alliance's original target. Thaksin, who is Somchai's brother-in-law, was deposed in a 2006 military coup and has fled the country to escape corruption charges. There is no negotiation on the table. Our condition is the same, Chamlong said. Brothers and sisters, please be patient. As soon as the government is out of power, we will go home immediately.Somchai has appeared at a loss on how to end the crisis but still refuses to step down. The police have their hands tied because of Somchai's reluctance to use force and the military has refused to get involved, creating the worst political deadlock in the country's history and taking a severe toll on its economy and reputation.Hundreds of flights have been canceled, stranding up to 100,000 travelers, devastating the country's tourism-dependent economy and disrupting schedules and budgets of airlines around the world.Suvarnabhumi airport director Serirat Prasutanont said officials are trying to negotiate with protesters to let various airlines retrieve 88 planes that have remained parked since Tuesday.

We are begging them to let the empty planes take off but without success, he said.

Some airlines were using an airport at the U-Tapao naval base, about 90 miles (140 kilometers) southeast of Bangkok. But authorities there were overwhelmed with hundreds of screaming and shoving passengers cramming into the small facility, trying to get their bags scanned through a single X-ray machine. It was terrible! There was pushing and shouting and we couldn't get in the front door, said Veena Banerjee of India, trying for the second day to get on a plane. All rescue flights — to Moscow, Beijing, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket, Singapore — were delayed, some by several hours. The parking lot was jammed with buses, taxis and vans. The Red Cross set up a tent in the parking area where women handed out sandwiches. Deputy Prime Minister Olarn Chaipravat, who oversees economic affairs, said foreign tourist arrivals next year were expected to fall by half to about 6 million, resulting in 1 million job losses in the crucial tourism industry. The Federation of Thai Industries has estimated the takeover of the airports is costing the country $57 million to $85 million a day. Some of its members have suggested they might not pay taxes to protest the standoff. The situation has gone from bad to worse, signaling that it (the government) is incompetent at ensuring peace and order, the Thai Chamber of Commerce said in a statement Saturday. Some Thais are looking to the judiciary for a way out of the crisis. The Constitutional Court is expected to rule as soon as next week on whether three parties in the governing coalition including Somchai's People's Power Party committed electoral fraud.

If found guilty, the parties would be dissolved immediately, and executive members including Somchai would be barred from politics for five years. Non-executive members could, however, switch to another party. Others are counting on the monarchy to end the standoff. Revered King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who has repeatedly brought calm in times of turbulence during his 62-year reign, will give his annual birthday-eve speech on Dec. 4. No one else can fix this. The country is so divided. The only uniting figure we have is the king. If he tells both sides to step back, they will, said 36-year-old coffee shop owner Natta Siritanond. Associated Press reporters Nicolas B. Tatro, Vijay Joshi and Michael Casey contributed to this report.

OBAMA WATCH CENTRAL Chasm dividing Americans over birth certificate widens
Opinions include, Constitution means what we say November 28, 2008
8:45 pm Eastern 2008 WorldNetDaily

The eligible President-elect Obama

The chasm between those who want President-elect Barack Obama to produce his birth certificate to verify his eligibility to hold the nation's highest office and those who simply support the Democrat is widening. The Constitution means what we today decide it means, opined one participant on a new WND forum that offers readers an opportunity to express their opinion on the birth certificate dispute. Meanwhile, as many as 115,000 have signed WND's petition seeking full disclosure of Obama's information. The petition cites the U.S. Constitution's requirement that no one can be sworn into office as president without being a natural born citizen. It also asserts there are questions about Obama's reported Hawaii birth, that the Democrat has refused repeated calls to document his birth, that activist judges have declined to require him to shed light on the issue and that Hawaii – at the time of Obama's birth – allowed parents whose children were born in other locations to register the birth there. WND's petition is available online, and more information is available at this link. It calls on all controlling legal authorities to take seriously the matter of where and when and to whom Obama was born and whether he qualifies as a natural-born American citizen, according to Article 2, Section 1 of the Constitution. To participate, sign the petition here.

Joseph Farah, founder, editor and chief executive officer of the leading independent online news source, said the highly unusual step was needed because the argument cuts to the core of the clear and simple meaning of the Constitution. Learn about what America can expect from an Obama presidency in Brad O'Leary's blockbuster, The Audacity of Deceit: Barack Obama's War on American Values.Farah used his daily column to explain more fully the importance of the issue. No news organization or anyone else has investigated this matter more thoroughly, devoted more manpower to it, committed the financial resources to it or taken it more seriously, Farah said. Yet, despite the obvious lingering questions out there haunting the American conscience, Barack Obama appears ready to waltz to the inauguration and swearing-in ceremonies without so much as proving he was born in America as he claims. That is simply unacceptable. I decided that if no one else was going to take this matter seriously, we would, Farah said. In WND's forum, the division of opinion seemed unbridgeable. Said one participant, The Constitution means what we today decide it means. The Constitution exists to serve the people, not the people to serve the Constitution. … The precise nature and meaning of particular Constitutional clauses is a political question, to be decided by the people through our elected representatives, and through the judges appointed by the president we elect. That president will be Barack Hussein Obama, for at least the next four years.Another reader responded: The Constitution is NOT whatever we decide that it is. Such a concept is nonsense by which we could declare up to mean down and in to mean out. In such a worldview language loses all meaning and purpose and it becomes impossible to know anything at all. The Constitution is what is actually written down in its body and its various amendments. It is NOT whatever the judges declare it to be, no matter how fervently those judges desire for you to believe otherwise. There is a reason that the very first paragraph following the preamble states unequivocally that only Congress is allowed to make law. It means that judges do not get to tell us what the law is. Their Constitutional role is to decide cases, not to fold, spindle, and mutilate whatever they don't like.Continued another, We are a nation of laws, not what individuals might wish. And the Constitution is the first and foremost law. … BO has indicated in interviews that he thinks that founding document is too restrictive. Apparently he hopes to operate outside that law, beginning with his refusal to just present his original, long form vault birth certificate and his university records or other documents to prove that he is actually a natural born citizen of the U.S.He could very well be pulling off the biggest fraud in U.S. history and thinks he can get away with it, said yet another. The comments were in response to the forum question: Barack Obama may have won the presidential election, but is he eligible to serve? That's a question on the minds of millions of Americans eager to see his birth certificate and find out for sure if he was born in the U.S., as he claims. At least two of his relatives in Kenya claim to have been present at his birth in Mombasa, Kenya. In addition, the Obama machine has scoffed at requests to see the form of the Hawaiian birth certificate that includes the specific hospital in which the delivery took place. The form released by the campaign does not include that information, leading to suspicions Obama might have been one of the foreign-born babies of the 1960s who were, nonetheless, provided birth certificates by the state of Hawaii.

EU calls for deeper ties with ex-Soviet states
By ROBERT WIELAARD – 1 hour ago NOV 30,08

BRUSSELS, Belgium (AP) — The EU must significantly boost relations with Ukraine and five other ex-Soviet republics and make easing Moscow's sway over them a priority, a European Commission report says. The report proposes to triple EU aid to Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine to euro1.5 billion by 2020. It says the EU must offer the nations free trade and economic integration because the EU has a vital interest in stability on its borders in the light of Russia's August war with Georgia. The European Commission wants the EU to sign association agreements providing for economic aid and security and defense consultations. It is silent on future EU membership, something Ukraine desires. The report says stepping up relations is only possible once there is sufficient progress toward democracy, the rule of law and human rights. This is particularly relevant for Belarus, whose authoritarian regime is shunned by the EU but has good relations with Moscow.

The report, a copy of which was obtained by The Associated Press, is to be made public Wednesday.Russia wants to influence countries with large Russian-speaking populations. The EU worries about Moscow's commitment to democracy and wants to pull Russian neighbors closer to Western Europe with promises of trade and growth hoping to secure affordable supplies of energy in the future. The report says the EU must seek diversification of energy routes by enabling the ex-Soviet nations to build new and better connected pipelines and oil and gas storage facilities. The EU wants to see a gas pipeline from the Caucasus fully skirting Russia. Russia is pushing for deals under which Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan will ship their Caspian Sea gas through Russia. The EU report warns this would make energy supplies more vulnerable.
European Commission officials hope the EU leaders will endorse the plan at a spring summit.

Citigroup says gold could rise above $2,000 next year as world unravels ,Gold is poised for a dramatic surge and could blast through $2,000 an ounce by the end of next year as central banks flood the world's monetary system with liquidity, according to an internal client note from the US bank Citigroup. By Ambrose Evans-Pritchard Last Updated: 7:29AM GMT 27 Nov 2008

An employee of Tanaka Kikinzoku Jewelry K.K. displays a gold bar at the company's store in Tokyo Photo: Reuters The bank said the damage caused by the financial excesses of the last quarter century was forcing the world's authorities to take steps that had never been tried before. This gamble was likely to end in one of two extreme ways: with either a resurgence of inflation; or a downward spiral into depression, civil disorder, and possibly wars. Both outcomes will cause a rush for gold. They are throwing the kitchen sink at this, said Tom Fitzpatrick, the bank's chief technical strategist. The world is not going back to normal after the magnitude of what they have done. When the dust settles this will either work, and the money they have pushed into the system will feed though into an inflation shock.Or it will not work because too much damage has already been done, and we will see continued financial deterioration, causing further economic deterioration, with the risk of a feedback loop. We don't think this is the more likely outcome, but as each week and month passes, there is a growing danger of vicious circle as confidence erodes," he said. This will lead to political instability. We are already seeing countries on the periphery of Europe under severe stress. Some leaders are now at record levels of unpopularity. There is a risk of domestic unrest, starting with strikes because people are feeling disenfranchised.

What happens if there is a meltdown in a country like Pakistan, which is a nuclear power. People react when they have their backs to the wall. We're already seeing doubts emerge about the sovereign debts of developed AAA-rated countries, which is not something you can ignore, he said.Gold traders are playing close attention to reports from Beijing that the China is thinking of boosting its gold reserves from 600 tonnes to nearer 4,000 tonnes to diversify away from paper currencies. If true, this is a very material change, he said.Mr Fitzpatrick said Britain had made a mistake selling off half its gold at the bottom of the market between 1999 to 2002. People have started to question the value of government debt, he said.Citigroup said the blast-off was likely to occur within two years, and possibly as soon as 2009. Gold was trading yesterday at $812 an ounce. It is well off its all-time peak of $1,030 in February but has held up much better than other commodities over the last few months – reverting to is historical role as a safe-haven store of value and a de facto currency. Gold has tripled in value over the last seven years, vastly outperforming Wall Street and European bourses.

MUSLIM NATIONS

EZEKIEL 38:1-12

2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog,(RULER) the land of Magog,(RUSSIA) the chief prince of Meshech(MOSCOW)and Tubal,(TOBOLSK) and prophesy against him,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech(MOSCOW) and Tubal:
4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws,(GOD FORCES THE RUSSIA-MUSLIMS TO MARCH) and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.

2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts,(RUSSIA) and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands,( ARABS) and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
6 And I will send a fire on Magog,(NUCLEAR BOMB) and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
8 Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.

JOEL 2:3,20,30-31
3 A fire(NUCLEAR BOMB) devoureth before them;(RUSSIA-ARABS) and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army,(RUSSIA,MUSLIMS) and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.(SIBERIAN DESERT)
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.(NUCLEAR BOMB)
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

Venezuela, Russia to start naval exercises Monday Sat Nov 29, 2:14 pm ETCARACAS.

Venezuela – Venezuela's state news agency says three days of joint naval exercises with Russia will kick off in Venezuelan waters on Monday. The state-run Bolivarian News Agency says the operation involving 11 Venezuelan and four Russian ships has been christened Venrus 2008.Saturday's report said exercises will include anti-aircraft defense and tactics to combat terrorism and drug trafficking. Some will involve helicopters and planes. The Russian squadron arrived in Venezuela on Tuesday, led by the nuclear-powered cruiser Peter the Great — the first deployment of its kind since the Cold War.It's widely seen as a demonstration of Kremlin anger over aid delivered by U.S. warships to Georgia after its fighting with Russia. Russian officials deny that.

Russia seeks new missiles due to U.S. shield plans By Conor Sweeney Conor Sweeney – Fri Nov 28, 2:53 pm ET

MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russia's military said on Friday it had intensified efforts to develop new ballistic missiles in response to U.S. plans to deploy an anti-missile system in Europe and Russia's navy test fired a new generation rocket. The decision by the United States to deploy interceptor missiles in Poland and a radar system in the Czech Republic has angered Moscow, which says Russia's national security will be compromised by the U.S. anti-missile system.Colonel-General Nikolai Solovtsov, Commander of Russia's Strategic Missile Forces, was quoted by Interfax as saying that Russia had bolstered its efforts to develop new missiles. At the present time, work has been intensified to create the research and technical foundation for new missile systems, which will be needed after 2020, Solovtsov said.A few hours later, the Dmitry Donskoy nuclear submarine launched a Bulava intercontinental ballistic missile from the White Sea, a navy spokesman said. The missile hit the Kura testing site on the Kamchatka peninsula in the Pacific.Russia's RIA news agency quoted an unidentified source in the Defense Ministry as saying it was the most successful test of the Bulava to date, after a string of failures and delays. The previous test of the Bulava on September 18 was pronounced a success by the navy. Several launches of the Bulava, which is designed for Russia's new generation of Borei class nuclear submarines, have failed however.Russian President Dmitry Medvedev announced on November 5 that Moscow would install Iskander short-range missile systems near the Polish border if Washington proceeds with its missile plans.

Medvedev also said Russia would try to electronically jam the U.S. system.

Russia's relations with Washington this year hit their lowest ebb since the 1991 collapse of the Soviet Union after a row over the war against U.S. ally Georgia and Moscow's recognition of two Georgian rebel regions as independent states.Kremlin officials say the U.S. has failed to listen to their concerns about the missile shield, which Washington says is needed to protect against rogue states such as Iran.

Russia's missile forces commander said the first of a new generation of Russian RS-24intercontinental ballistic missiles would enter service in December 2009, Interfax reported.Russia test fired one of the RS-24 missiles on November 26, the third such test in two years.Russian generals say the RS-24 can pierce any anti-missile system. It can be armed with up to 10 different warheads and is intended to replace Russia's earlier generation intercontinental missiles such as the RS-18 and RS-20.Solovtsov said the global financial crisis probably would impose some limits on funding, although Russia would test 13 missiles next year, almost double the seven tests this year, Interfax reported.Due to the world financial crisis, certain resource restrictions will be applied but still the (missile) force should be able to fulfill its duties, he was quoted as saying.Civilian personnel in Russia's military forces also will be cut by 150,000 to 600,000 as part of ongoing reforms to defense structures, Interfax separately reported, quoting a source in the Defense Ministry.

Russia, Cuba strengthen ties Medvedev ends visit to Latin American allies
By Anita Snow | The Associated Press November 29, 2008

HAVANA - Russia's president met with ailing revolutionary icon Fidel Castro on Friday, winding up a visit aimed at freshening relations with his country's old Cold War ally and raising Moscow's profile across the rest of the Latin America.President Dmitry Medvedev spent hours talking and sightseeing with President Raul Castro before meeting privately with his 82-year-old older brother.Medvedev said he was happy with his visit when he left the island Friday evening on a flight from the beach resort of Varadero east of Havana, Cuba's Prensa Latina news agency reported.

Everything has gone very well, Prensa Latina quoted the Russian president as saying. We have defined what we are going to do next, we have cleared up everything regarding credits, and in Russia we will await President Raul Castro's visit.Prensa Latina offered no details about what had been defined and cleared up, and carried no information about Medvedev's visit with ailing Fidel Castro. Cuban state television's evening news also did not report on the meeting with the older Castro.

Earlier Friday, Medvedev and Raul Castro laid a wreath at a monument to Soviet soldiers who died while serving in Cuba in the early 1960s, a symbol of Cuba's once-prominent part in the communist bloc and the history of its ties to Russia.Wearing a gray suit instead of his traditional olive-green army uniform and clutching Medvedev's arm, Raul Castro shouted to television cameras, It has been a magnificent visit, and now he will see Fidel. The chat with Fidel Castro capped a series of meetings with Washington's staunchest opponents in the region. But Russian officials deny that Medvedev's four-nation trip is meant to provoke the United States.Medvedev toured a visiting Russian warship on Thursday with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.

Earlier, he met with Bolivia's Evo Morales and Nicaragua's Daniel Ortega, saying that Russia might participate in a trade bloc founded by Chavez and Cuban officials.
Medvedev also signed deals with Brazil and Peru, part of an effort to strengthen Russia's political, economic and military connections across a region long dominated by U.S. influence.Medvedev's Latin American tour is in some ways a response to U.S. moves in eastern Europe, where Russia sees its own security threatened by U.S. plans to build a missile-defense system in former Soviet satellite states.Medvedev said he and Raul Castro had discussed economic and military-technical cooperation — apparently arms sales — as well as security and regional cooperation.Former Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered a tough message when he visited Havana in 2000, saying Cuba should pay its Soviet-era debt. Moscow closed a Cold War-era electronic spying center shortly thereafter. Now that spy center is an elite computer sciences university, and Russia is looking to spend money again on projects such as oil exploration in Cuba's part of the Gulf of Mexico and in a Venezuelan effort to refurbish a Soviet-era refinery in the port city of Cienfuegos.

GLOBAL AGENDA Russia: Ease Moscow’s Suspicions By Michael Mandelbaum | NEWSWEEK Published Nov 29, 2008 From the magazine issue dated Dec 8, 2008

Russia has reason to feel betrayed by the process of NATO expansion, begun in 1997. Seven years earlier, the Russians believe, American and German officials working on German reunification pledged not to take advantage of Moscow's weakness by extending NATO into Russia's traditional backyard. By reneging on that promise, Western leaders have made Russians doubt their trustworthiness. To the Kremlin, the expansion process has also seemed to be based on dishonest premises. U.S. officials advertised it as a way of promoting democracy, of forcing ex-Soviet states to reform. But the democratic commitment of NATO's first ex-communist entrants—Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic—was never in doubt. And if the Americans truly believed that NATO membership was the best way to guarantee free elections and constitutional rights, why didn't they immediately offer it to the largest ex-communist country of them all, Russia itself? Instead, Moscow was told it would never be able to join.NATO expansion taught Russia another lesson. The process went ahead because Moscow was too weak to stop it. This told the Russians that to have a say in European affairs, they needed to be able to assert themselves militarily. Last summer's war in Georgia was one result.

Given this history, what should the West do now about Russia? We have no good options. In the wake of the war, some in the United States renewed the call to welcome Georgia into NATO. But NATO is a mutual-defense pact. Making Georgia a member would mean that we'd have to come to the country's aid should fighting with Russia break out once more. This would require putting Western troops, tanks, aircraft and perhaps even nuclear weapons on Russia's border—to which the Russians would respond with comparable forces. The U.S. military is already seriously overstretched by the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Yet doing nothing would look like a retreat in the face of Russian aggression. In the short term, the incoming U.S. president needs to think like a doctor: First, do no harm. This means deferring any offer of NATO membership to Georgia (and Ukraine, for that matter). Some may object that this will reward Russia for its belligerence. Perhaps, but the consequences of deferral are preferable to the costs of expansion—including a serious deterioration in relations with Moscow. At the same time, the West should renew its security cooperation with Russia. NATO must eventually either include Russia or give way to a new and more inclusive security order. To be sure, a NATO with Russia as a member would be a very different alliance. But today's NATO has already changed profoundly from that of 20 years ago. In security affairs as in other areas of human endeavor, change is the law of life. It's true that the present Russian regime hardly inspires the kind of trust and confidence that genuinely cooperative relations require. And that's not likely to change soon: the government is popular with the Russian public and is the product of powerful social forces, notably the country's historically authoritarian political culture. The West lacks the leverage to change any of that.

Our best hope lies in the economy. Russia's stock market fell sharply and capital fled the country after the Georgia war. In the next decade or two, the continuing development of free-market institutions and practices in Russia will have a salutary impact on its politics, if only by subjecting the country to punishment for acting aggressively. In the meantime, however, things will remain difficult. Barack Obama won't be able to heal relations completely. But he should try not to make them worse.

Rare downpour swamps Baghdad Sat Nov 29, 4:56 pm ET

BAGHDAD (AFP) – The Iraqi capital ground to a standstill Saturday after a rare rain and hail storm flooded city streets, leaving scores of cars stranded in muddy water half a metre (yard) deep.Traffic was backed up for hours on Baghdad's main streets in mid-afternoon, as pedestrians waded through the knee-deep water or tiptoed across ubiquitous concrete security barriers. It only rains in Baghdad a few times each year, and most streets are not built to drain water.Entire intersections were submerged, tunnels were closed, and main thoroughfares shut down because of fallen trees.Even on the sunniest days Baghdad's anarchic traffic can be a nightmare -- the city's roads are covered with potholes, several streets are blocked for security reasons, and traffic laws are rarely if ever enforced. The entire country's infrastructure fell into disrepair during the decades of war and international sanctions that preceeded the 2003 US-led invasion to topple Saddam Hussein. The finance ministry has estimated that Iraq will need 400 billion dollars (315 billion euros) for reconstruction, which it hopes will be mostly covered by foreign investment.

Death toll rises to 109 in southern Brazil flooding: officials Sat Nov 29, 11:19 am ET

DE JANEIRO (AFP) – Flooding and landslides triggered by heavy rain has killed at least 109 people in southern Brazil over the past week, Civil Defense officials said on Saturday. The toll, 10 more than reported Friday, is likely to rise because at least 19 people are still missing, officials said.Heavy rain in the state of Santa Clara has affected 1.5 million people in the region and forced some 79,000 to flee their homes, officials said.Local authorities ordered a curfew in some of the most heavily affected areas to stop looters from breaking into stores searching for food.

Front-pages of the leading Brazilian newspapers throughout the week showed pictures of area residents inside supermarkets in waist-deep water searching for food and drinking water.Civil defense officials said Saturday that over the past week they have distributed some 515 tonnes of food. There are still parts of the flooded region cut off from land access and reachable only via helicopter.Health Ministry workers and Civil Defense officials are to set up this weekend a field hospital near Itajai, one of the most hard-hit areas, that can receive up to 400 people a day.Authorities feared an outbreak of diseases such as leptospirosis, spread by rat urine.

More bodies unearthed in Brazil mudslides By RICARDO MORAES, Associated Press Writer Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008. Flooding

ITAJAI, Brazil – Rescue workers have pulled nine more bodies from beneath mud and rubble in Brazil's flood-ravaged southern state of Santa Catarina, bringing the death toll to 109, the state civil defense department said Saturday. Most of the 109 victims were killed in mudslides and 19 still were missing. At least 78,000 people in 14 cities have been driven from their homes, with many taking shelter in churches, schools, gymnasiums and other public buildings.Harrowing stories continued to emerge from Itajai, a riverside city of 180,000 where receding floodwaters left homes and furniture caked with mud.In a makeshift shelter at a school, Maria Salete, a 55-year-old housewife, sobbed as she recalled the mudslide that killed her three grandchildren. It all happened so quickly, she said. I don't remember how I got out. All of a sudden there was this huge mountain of mud and my grandchildren had disappeared. She said her son and daughter-in-law survived and were hospitalized, but she had no idea how badly they were hurt.Outside the city, Evandro Schmidt, a 36-year-old rice farmer, helped clear away mud, rocks and debris that clogged a highway.

I never thought I would see so much horror in my life, he said. I helped dig out the bodies of several of my neighbors.Things will never be the same again. I don't know what I am going to do to survive, he said, walking away and shaking his head. He declined to answer more questions.Officials have imposed a 10 p.m. curfew in Itajai to prevent looting.Volunteers and troops worked around the clock distributing tons of medicine, food, water and clothes to people in a region where power outages contributed to a lack of drinking water and fresh food.

TORAH PORTION FROM NOV 30 - DEC 06, 2008

SINCE WHAT ISRAEL READS WILL BE FULFILLED IN THAT WEEK I WILL BE PUTTING THE WEEKLY TORAH PORTION ON FOR ALL OF US TO KEEP TRACK OF ISRAEL HAPPENINGS.

TORAH PORTION FROM NOV 30, 2008 6PM TO DEC 06,2008

GENESIS 28:10-32:3
10 And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.
11 And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep.
12 And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
13 And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed;
14 And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
15 And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
16 And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not.
17 And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.
18 And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put for his pillows, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.
19 And he called the name of that place Bethel: but the name of that city was called Luz at the first.
20 And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
21 So that I come again to my father's house in peace; then shall the LORD be my God:
22 And this stone, which I have set for a pillar, shall be God's house: and of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.

GENESIS 29:1-35
1 Then Jacob went on his journey, and came into the land of the people of the east.
2 And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well's mouth.
3 And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well's mouth in his place.
4 And Jacob said unto them, My brethren, whence be ye? And they said, Of Haran are we.
5 And he said unto them, Know ye Laban the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him.
6 And he said unto them, Is he well? And they said, He is well: and, behold, Rachel his daughter cometh with the sheep.
7 And he said, Lo, it is yet high day, neither is it time that the cattle should be gathered together: water ye the sheep, and go and feed them.
8 And they said, We cannot, until all the flocks be gathered together, and till they roll the stone from the well's mouth; then we water the sheep.
9 And while he yet spake with them, Rachel came with her father's sheep: for she kept them.
10 And it came to pass, when Jacob saw Rachel the daughter of Laban his mother's brother, and the sheep of Laban his mother's brother, that Jacob went near, and rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the flock of Laban his mother's brother.
11 And Jacob kissed Rachel, and lifted up his voice, and wept.
12 And Jacob told Rachel that he was her father's brother, and that he was Rebekah's son: and she ran and told her father.
13 And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister's son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things.
14 And Laban said to him, Surely thou art my bone and my flesh. And he abode with him the space of a month.
15 And Laban said unto Jacob, Because thou art my brother, shouldest thou therefore serve me for nought? tell me, what shall thy wages be?
16 And Laban had two daughters: the name of the elder was Leah, and the name of the younger was Rachel.
17 Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favoured.
18 And Jacob loved Rachel; and said, I will serve thee seven years for Rachel thy younger daughter.
19 And Laban said, It is better that I give her to thee, than that I should give her to another man: abide with me.
20 And Jacob served seven years for Rachel; and they seemed unto him but a few days, for the love he had to her.
21 And Jacob said unto Laban, Give me my wife, for my days are fulfilled, that I may go in unto her.
22 And Laban gathered together all the men of the place, and made a feast.
23 And it came to pass in the evening, that he took Leah his daughter, and brought her to him; and he went in unto her.
24 And Laban gave unto his daughter Leah Zilpah his maid for an handmaid.
25 And it came to pass, that in the morning, behold, it was Leah: and he said to Laban, What is this thou hast done unto me? did not I serve with thee for Rachel? wherefore then hast thou beguiled me?
26 And Laban said, It must not be so done in our country, to give the younger before the firstborn.
27 Fulfil her week, and we will give thee this also for the service which thou shalt serve with me yet seven other years.
28 And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.
29 And Laban gave to Rachel his daughter Bilhah his handmaid to be her maid.
30 And he went in also unto Rachel, and he loved also Rachel more than Leah, and served with him yet seven other years.
31 And when the LORD saw that Leah was hated, he opened her womb: but Rachel was barren.
32 And Leah conceived, and bare a son, and she called his name Reuben: for she said, Surely the LORD hath looked upon my affliction; now therefore my husband will love me.
33 And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Because the LORD hath heard that I was hated, he hath therefore given me this son also: and she called his name Simeon.
34 And she conceived again, and bare a son; and said, Now this time will my husband be joined unto me, because I have born him three sons: therefore was his name called Levi.
35 And she conceived again, and bare a son: and she said, Now will I praise the LORD: therefore she called his name Judah; and left bearing.

GENESIS 30:1-43
1 And when Rachel saw that she bare Jacob no children, Rachel envied her sister; and said unto Jacob, Give me children, or else I die.
2 And Jacob's anger was kindled against Rachel: and he said, Am I in God's stead, who hath withheld from thee the fruit of the womb?
3 And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her.
4 And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her.
5 And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son.
6 And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan.
7 And Bilhah Rachel's maid conceived again, and bare Jacob a second son.
8 And Rachel said, With great wrestlings have I wrestled with my sister, and I have prevailed: and she called his name Naphtali.
9 When Leah saw that she had left bearing, she took Zilpah her maid, and gave her Jacob to wife.
10 And Zilpah Leah's maid bare Jacob a son.
11 And Leah said, A troop cometh: and she called his name Gad.
12 And Zilpah Leah's maid bare Jacob a second son.
13 And Leah said, Happy am I, for the daughters will call me blessed: and she called his name Asher.
14 And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son's mandrakes.
15 And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son's mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to night for thy son's mandrakes.
16 And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son's mandrakes. And he lay with her that night.
17 And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son.
18 And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.
19 And Leah conceived again, and bare Jacob the sixth son.
20 And Leah said, God hath endued me with a good dowry; now will my husband dwell with me, because I have born him six sons: and she called his name Zebulun.
21 And afterwards she bare a daughter, and called her name Dinah.
22 And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb.
23 And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach:
24 And she called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son.
25 And it came to pass, when Rachel had born Joseph, that Jacob said unto Laban, Send me away, that I may go unto mine own place, and to my country.
26 Give me my wives and my children, for whom I have served thee, and let me go: for thou knowest my service which I have done thee.
27 And Laban said unto him, I pray thee, if I have found favour in thine eyes, tarry: for I have learned by experience that the LORD hath blessed me for thy sake.
28 And he said, Appoint me thy wages, and I will give it.
29 And he said unto him, Thou knowest how I have served thee, and how thy cattle was with me.
30 For it was little which thou hadst before I came, and it is now increased unto a multitude; and the LORD hath blessed thee since my coming: and now when shall I provide for mine own house also?
31 And he said, What shall I give thee? And Jacob said, Thou shalt not give me any thing: if thou wilt do this thing for me, I will again feed and keep thy flock:
32 I will pass through all thy flock to day, removing from thence all the speckled and spotted cattle, and all the brown cattle among the sheep, and the spotted and speckled among the goats: and of such shall be my hire.
33 So shall my righteousness answer for me in time to come, when it shall come for my hire before thy face: every one that is not speckled and spotted among the goats, and brown among the sheep, that shall be counted stolen with me.
34 And Laban said, Behold, I would it might be according to thy word.
35 And he removed that day the he goats that were ringstraked and spotted, and all the she goats that were speckled and spotted, and every one that had some white in it, and all the brown among the sheep, and gave them into the hand of his sons.
36 And he set three days' journey betwixt himself and Jacob: and Jacob fed the rest of Laban's flocks.
37 And Jacob took him rods of green poplar, and of the hazel and chesnut tree; and pilled white strakes in them, and made the white appear which was in the rods.
38 And he set the rods which he had pilled before the flocks in the gutters in the watering troughs when the flocks came to drink, that they should conceive when they came to drink.
39 And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted.
40 And Jacob did separate the lambs, and set the faces of the flocks toward the ringstraked, and all the brown in the flock of Laban; and he put his own flocks by themselves, and put them not unto Laban's cattle.
41 And it came to pass, whensoever the stronger cattle did conceive, that Jacob laid the rods before the eyes of the cattle in the gutters, that they might conceive among the rods.
42 But when the cattle were feeble, he put them not in: so the feebler were Laban's, and the stronger Jacob's.
43 And the man increased exceedingly, and had much cattle, and maidservants, and menservants, and camels, and asses.

GENESIS 31:1-55
1 And he heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father's; and of that which was our father's hath he gotten all this glory.
2 And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before.
3 And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee.
4 And Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field unto his flock,
5 And said unto them, I see your father's countenance, that it is not toward me as before; but the God of my father hath been with me.
6 And ye know that with all my power I have served your father.
7 And your father hath deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God suffered him not to hurt me.
8 If he said thus, The speckled shall be thy wages; then all the cattle bare speckled: and if he said thus, The ringstraked shall be thy hire; then bare all the cattle ringstraked.
9 Thus God hath taken away the cattle of your father, and given them to me.
10 And it came to pass at the time that the cattle conceived, that I lifted up mine eyes, and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams which leaped upon the cattle were ringstraked, speckled, and grisled.
11 And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I.
12 And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee.
13 I am the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred.
14 And Rachel and Leah answered and said unto him, Is there yet any portion or inheritance for us in our father's house?
15 Are we not counted of him strangers? for he hath sold us, and hath quite devoured also our money.
16 For all the riches which God hath taken from our father, that is ours, and our children's: now then, whatsoever God hath said unto thee, do.
17 Then Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives upon camels;
18 And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padanaram, for to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.
19 And Laban went to shear his sheep: and Rachel had stolen the images that were her father's.
20 And Jacob stole away unawares to Laban the Syrian, in that he told him not that he fled.
21 So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and passed over the river, and set his face toward the mount Gilead.
22 And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob was fled.
23 And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days' journey; and they overtook him in the mount Gilead.
24 And God came to Laban the Syrian in a dream by night, and said unto him, Take heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
25 Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead.
26 And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword?
27 Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp?
28 And hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? thou hast now done foolishly in so doing.
29 It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad.
30 And now, though thou wouldest needs be gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father's house, yet wherefore hast thou stolen my gods?
31 And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, Peradventure thou wouldest take by force thy daughters from me.
32 With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them.
33 And Laban went into Jacob's tent, and into Leah's tent, and into the two maidservants' tents; but he found them not. Then went he out of Leah's tent, and entered into Rachel's tent.
34 Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel's furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not.
35 And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched, but found not the images.
36 And Jacob was wroth, and chode with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me?
37 Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us both.
38 This twenty years have I been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten.
39 That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night.
40 Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes.
41 Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times.
42 Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight.
43 And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that thou seest is mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born?
44 Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee.
45 And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar.
46 And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made an heap: and they did eat there upon the heap.
47 And Laban called it Jegarsahadutha: but Jacob called it Galeed.
48 And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed;
49 And Mizpah; for he said, The LORD watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another.
50 If thou shalt afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives beside my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness betwixt me and thee.
51 And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee;
52 This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm.
53 The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac.
54 Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount.
55 And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned unto his place.

GENESIS 32:1-3
1 And Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.
2 And when Jacob saw them, he said, This is God's host: and he called the name of that place Mahanaim.
3 And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother unto the land of Seir, the country of Edom.

PROPHETS PORTION

HOSEA 11:7-14:10
7 And my people are bent to backsliding from me: though they called them to the most High, none at all would exalt him.
8 How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? how shall I deliver thee, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? how shall I set thee as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within me, my repentings are kindled together.
9 I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee: and I will not enter into the city.
10 They shall walk after the LORD: he shall roar like a lion: when he shall roar, then the children shall tremble from the west.
11 They shall tremble as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria: and I will place them in their houses, saith the LORD.
12 Ephraim compasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the saints.

HOSEA 12:1-14
1 Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily increaseth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
2 The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.
3 He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:
4 Yea, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication unto him: he found him in Bethel, and there he spake with us;
5 Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD is his memorial.
6 Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
7 He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress.
8 And Ephraim said, Yet I am become rich, I have found me out substance: in all my labours they shall find none iniquity in me that were sin.
9 And I that am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.
10 I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes, by the ministry of the prophets.
11 Is there iniquity in Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yea, their altars are as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
12 And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept sheep.
13 And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
14 Ephraim provoked him to anger most bitterly: therefore shall he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach shall his Lord return unto him.

HOSEA 13:1-16
1 When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.
2 And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.
3 Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud, and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.
4 Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
5 I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
6 According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.
7 Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:
8 I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.
9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.
10 I will be thy king: where is any other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?
11 I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.
12 The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid.
13 The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.
14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.
15 Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the LORD shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.
16 Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

HOSEA 14:1-9
1 O Israel, return unto the LORD thy God; for thou hast fallen by thine iniquity.
2 Take with you words, and turn to the LORD: say unto him, Take away all iniquity, and receive us graciously: so will we render the calves of our lips.
3 Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.
4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.
5 I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon.
6 His branches shall spread, and his beauty shall be as the olive tree, and his smell as Lebanon.
7 They that dwell under his shadow shall return; they shall revive as the corn, and grow as the vine: the scent thereof shall be as the wine of Lebanon.
8 Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have heard him, and observed him: I am like a green fir tree. From me is thy fruit found.
9 Who is wise, and he shall understand these things? prudent, and he shall know them? for the ways of the LORD are right, and the just shall walk in them: but the transgressors shall fall therein.

NEW TESTAMENT PORTION

JOHN 1:43-51
43 The day following Jesus would go forth into Galilee, and findeth Philip, and saith unto him, Follow me.
44 Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.
45 Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.
46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
47 Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!
48 Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.
49 Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.
50 Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.
51 And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.
