3 NEW PLANETS:Solar System Could Gain 3 New Planets
Wednesday, August 16; Posted: 9:42 a.m. (CDT)

(CNN) -- Highly-debated Pluto would keep its planet status, but one of Pluto's moons, Charon could be counted as one of the 12. Ceres, the largest known asteroid in the asteroid belt, and 2003 UB313, the farthest-known object in the solar system, could also be included in the list. Although if the resolution is passed an official name would be given to the unnamed object, a statement from the International Astronomical Union said.Members of the IAU will gather Wednesday in Prague to debate the resolution. The union brings together astronomers from around the globe, some of who have for the past two years worked to define planet.

In July we had vigorous discussions of both the scientific and the cultural/historical issues, and on the second morning several members admitted that they had not slept well, worrying that we would not be able to reach a consensus,Chair of the Planet Definition Committee Owen Gingerich said. But by the end of a long day, the miracle had happened: we had reached a unanimous agreement.Their definition of planet, which is outlined in the resolution, states that first the object must be in orbit around a star, while not being itself a star. Second, the object must be large enough for its own gravity to pull it into a nearly spherical shape.

7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.(RUSSIA-EGYPT AND MUSLIMS)
10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.

Israel says Assad has chosen camp of extremism Wed Aug 16, 5:39 AM ET

JERUSALEM (AFP) - Israel has accused Syria of choosing what it called the camp of extremism after its president, Bashar al-Assad, hailed the victory of the Hezbollah militia and ruled out peace talks with Israel. With this speech, Syria has shown that its strategic choice consists in aligning itself with extremists, Israeli foreign ministry spokesman Mark Regev told AFP Wednesday.

Assad gave a hard-hitting speech to the Syrian parliament on Tuesday in which he praised Hezbollah for resisting the massive military offensive launched by Israel against Lebanon on July 12.Regev said Syria formed part of an extremist axis which included the two hardline Palestinian movements Hamas and Islamic Jihad, the Hezbollah militia and Iran.

So long as Syria belongs to this axis, no reasonable person will be able to treat it as part of the peace camp, Regev said.

Assad lashed out at western powers in his speech and said he did not expect peace with the Jewish state any time soon.

Peace would involve Israel returning occupied lands to their owners and restoring their rights, Assad said. Israel is an enemy founded on the basis of aggression and hegemony.Israel says Syria has armed and supported the Hezbollah militia in its conflict with the Jewish state, which seized the Golan Heights from Syria in 1967 and annexed them in 1981.Damascus says it gives only moral support to Hezbollah.

Hizbullah: ‘Not Obligated’ by Resolution 1701

Hizbullah terror leaders said Tuesday night on the organization’s al-Manar TV station that the group is not obligated by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1701 to comply with ceasefire terms. The U.N. decision does not obligate us and it does not have weight with us,said deputy chief terrorist Sheikh Naim Qassam. What Israel did not succeed in taking during war, it will not succeed with diplomacy and politics. The resolution which numerates the conditions for the ceasefire between Israel and the terror organization in southern Lebanon calls for Hizbullah to be disarmed by the Lebanese government.

What did DR Samuel Doctorian get revealed to him by the Angel of ASIA. Look and compare to this article.

DR SAMUEL DOCTORIAN (FIRST ANGEL OF ASIA)

The first angel said: I have a message for all of Asia. When he said that, in a spilt few seconds, I could see all of China, India, the Asian countries like Vietnam, Laos - I've never been to those countries. I saw the Philippines, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. And then the angel showed me all of Papua New Guinea, Irian Jaya and down to Australia and New Zealand.

I am the angel of Asia,he said. And in his hand I saw a tremendous trumpet that he is going to blow all over Asia. Whatever the angel said, it's going to happen with the trumpet of the Lord all over Asia. Millions are going to hear the mighty voice of the Lord. Then the angel said, There shall be disaster, starvation - many will die from hunger. Strong winds will be looked like has never happened before. A great part shall be shaken and destroyed. Earthquakes will take place all over Asia and the sea will cover the earth.

The earth will fall into the sea, I heard the angel say, part of Australia will be shaken. Australia will be divided, and a great part will go under the ocean. This was frightening - I wondered whether I was hearing right. But the angel said,Millions will die in China and in India. Nation will be against nation, brother against brother. Asians will fight each other. Nuclear weapons shall be used, killing millions. Twice I heard the words, Catastrophic! Catastrophic! then the angel said, Financial crisis will come to Asia. I will shake the world.

I was trembling while the angel was speaking. Then he looked at me and smiled and said, There shall be the greatest spiritual awakening - bondage will be broken. Barriers will be removed. And all over Asia - China - India - people will turn to Christ. In Australia there shall be tremendous revival. I heard the angel of Asia say, It is the last harvest. Then as if the Lord were speaking, he said, I shall prepare My church for the return of Christ.I was happy with such good news after the message of judgment. All the time the five angels were in my room I could feel their presence - it was tremendous.

Warming reportedly behind China's killer typhoons
AFP , BEIJING Tuesday, Aug 15, 2006,

Global warming is contributing to an unusually harsh typhoon season in China that started around a month early and has left thousands dead or missing, government officials and experts said. The natural disasters caused by typhoons in our country have been many this year, the head of the China Meteorological Administration, Qin Dahe, said in recent comments on his organization's Web site.Against the backdrop of global warming, more and more strong and unusual climatic and atmospheric events are taking place,he said. The strength of typhoons are increasing, the destructiveness of typhoons that have made landfall is greater and the scope in which they are travelling is farther than normal, he said. The vice minister of the Ministry of Water Resources, E. Jingping, also spoke last week about the unusual ferocity, frequency and earliness of typhoons in China this year.

He said the typhoon season in China normally starts around July 27, but this year the first typhoon hit the southern province of Guangdong on May 18.This is the earliest typhoon to hit Guangdong since 1949, he said in a speech.Natural disasters in China this year have killed 1,699 people and left 415 missing, the nation's Red Cross Society said last week.More than 1,300 of those died in weather-related incidents from May to the end of last month, the government reported earlier. Those reports came before the arrival on last Thursday of Saomai, the eighth typhoon of the season and the strongest to hit China in 50 years.Saomai killed at least 214 people, mostly in the two eastern coastal provinces of Zhejiang and Fujian, according to figures released yesterday. The president of the Washington-based Earth Policy Institute, Lester Brown said that the weather in China over the past few months was reflective of the worldwide extent of the problem of global warming. The emerging consensus in the scientific community is that higher temperatures bring more frequent and more destructive storms, Brown said. Our seasons seem to be beginning earlier and ending later, he said.According to NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, the earth's average temperature has risen by 0.8?C since 1970, he said. But this is only the beginning of what the UN's International Panel on Climate Change believes will be a rise in temperature for this century of 1.4?C to 5.8?C.

Just imagine what typhoons and hurricanes might be like in the future,Brown said.Simply put, the storms are caused when warmer oceanic and atmospheric currents interact with cooler currents in tropic and sub-tropical regions, experts say. Many of the cooler oceanic currents stem from the melting of the polar ice caps that is occurring due to rising global temperatures, said Edwin Lau, who monitors global warming at Friends of the Earth in Hong Kong. The hurricanes and typhoons are due to hot air rising... and the hotter the air, the spinning of the hurricanes is faster, picking up more water,Lau said.Meanwhile, as some areas of China are hit by more typhoons and the resulting floods, other areas are suffering from intense drought, which experts say is another by-product of global warming. In a landmark report in the mid-1990s, the UN panel on climate change predicted that global warming would leave southern China drenched with more rains, while the north and west of the country would suffer worsening droughts. In Sichuan Province, directly to the west of where much of the devastation from the typhoons has occurred, nearly seven million people are currently inurgent need of drinking water due to a severe drought, state press said on Friday. In the southwestern city of Chongqing, the drought is beginning to threaten the water supply for about 17 million people, according to another state press report.

FACTBOX-Climate change predictions for Asia
14 Aug 2006 06:18:17 GMT,Source: Reuters

August 14 (Reuters) - Asia, home to more than half the world's 6.3 billion people, could be badly affected by climate change, many experts warn, as the predicted rising sea levels, melting glaciers, droughts, floods, and food and water shortages take their toll.
Here is an overview of how climate change might affect Asia:

TROPICAL STORMS:

- The western Pacific already experiences more typhoons than any other part of the world. Scientists fear Asia will be hit by more frequent and severe storms, the U.S. Climate Institute says.

- While nations like Japan, Korea and Taiwan can afford better protection, others around the Bay of Bengal such as Bangladesh probably will not, and their flat, dense settlements already make them badly susceptible to cyclones.

RISING SEA LEVELS

- India and Bangladesh will have to draw up permanent relocation plans for millions of people as sea levels rise. Around 15 percent of Bangladesh would be under water if the sea level rose by a metre in the next century, a leading climatologist said last year. Japan's major coastal cities, and island nations are also threatened.

- Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia and China, could suffer sharp cuts in their gross domestic product because of rising sea levels, the World Bank said in April 2006.

MELTING GLACIERS, SCARCE WATER

- Glaciers around the world have been retreating since the 1850s, as the climate has warmed. Around 67 percent of Asia's Himalayan glaciers in Nepal, west China and north India, are now melting more rapidly because of global warming, conservation group the WWF said in a March 2005 report.

- Their melting poses a major threat to the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia and parts of China, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) says.

- Water scarcity will worsen because seven of Asia's main rivers, including the Ganges, Indus, Brahmaputra and the Mekong, begin in the Himalayas. Summer glacial meltwater is crucial to hundreds of millions of people downstream, who rely on it for irrigation and hydroelectric power.

- Asia already has 60 percent of the world's population but only 36 percent of the globe's freshwater, the UN World Food Programme has said.

DESERTIFICATION AND DROUGHTS

- Northern China, already threatened by the advance of Mongolia's Gobi desert, faces the further loss of arable land to desertification. Warmer winters and less rainfall make topsoil more susceptible to being blown away by strong winds.

- Over a quarter of China's huge landmass is classified as desert, and up to 400 million people are threatened by fast-advancing deserts, Greenpeace said in 2003.

EXTINCTION OF SPECIES

- Climate-related risks to Asia's rich array of species are climbing. As many as 1,250 of India's 15,000 higher plant species are threatened, and similar trends are evident in China, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Thailand, the IPCC said in 2001.

- Many of Asia's mammals and birds are likely to be wiped out because of the combined effects of climate change and habitat fragmentation, the IPCC says.

Magnitude 6.1 quake rocks southern Tonga 2 hours, 16 minutes ago

NUKU'ALOFA, Tonga - A strong earthquake shook the Pacific island nation of Tonga on Wednesday, rocking the capital for several seconds but causing no injuries or damage, police said. The magnitude 6.1 quake was centered 65 miles west of the capital and about 100 miles below the earth's surface, the U.S. Geological Survey said. There were no reports of a tsunami warning being issued, It was felt all over Nuku'alofa, said journalist Pesi Fonua, adding the tremblor shook buildings in the city's downtown area.

Tonga has been rocked by scores of quakes recently, including a 7.8-magnitude temblor on May 4 that damaged some buildings. Tonga, located halfway between Australia and Tahiti — has a population of around 108,000 and an economy dependent on pumpkin and vanilla exports, fishing, foreign aid and remittances from Tongans abroad.

Quake off eastern Indonesia, no tsunami warning Tue Aug 15, 1:10 AM ET

JAKARTA (Reuters) - A 5.9 magnitude earthquake struck eastern Indonesia in the Banda sea area on Tuesday, an official at the national earthquake center said, but there were no reports of damage or a tsunami.

There was a quake in Banda sea at 10:05 a.m. Jakarta time (0305 GMT), said Fauzi at the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency (MGA). There is no potential tsunami and also no damage. The U.S. Geological Survey put the earthquake's magnitude at a strong 6.1 and at a depth of 39 km (24 miles). It said the quake struck 188 km southwest of Ambon in Indonesia's Moluccas. The MGA official said the quake could be felt in Ambon.

There was no immediate tsunami warning posted on the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center's Web site (www.prh.noaa.gov/ptwc)Earthquakes occur frequently near Indonesia, which lies on a seismically active stretch of the Pacific basin known as the Pacific Ring of Fire.In May this year, a strong earthquake also hit the city of Yogyakarta in Java killing at least 5,000 and a tsunami after a quake on July 17 off the south coast of Java killed at least 600.A 9.15 magnitude earthquake on December 26, 2004 in the sea off the Aceh province triggered a tsunami in the Indian Ocean that killed more than 220,000 people in the region.

Residents flee flooding in N.M. 32 minutes ago

HATCH, N.M. - Residents fled their homes Tuesday after another day of heavy rain breached an arroyo, causing waist-deep flooding in this southern New Mexico town famous for its chile peppers. Authorities ordered residents living in areas from Hatch to Rincon, about five miles south, to evacuate. Many were soaked when they arrived at an evacuation center set up at Hatch Valley High School.State police closed all highways and feeder roads into Hatch, though nearby Interstate 25 remained open. A command center was moved out of town to nearby Las Cruces because of the high water, and schools were ordered closed through Thursday.

Police and rescue workers helped people navigate the high water as they waded from their homes Tuesday evening. No injuries were reported.Hatch, home to about 1,700 residents, is one of the nation's leading chili producers and proclaims itself the Chili Capital of the World. An annual chili festival over Labor Day draws tens of thousands of tourists.

It wasn't immediately known what effect the flooding would have on this year's crop, which had been expected to be a strong one. Chili farmer Joe Paul Lack said heavy rain has hurt his crops in Rincon. There is definitely going to be a (chili) shortage if this rain keeps up, but I'm more concerned about the town — our churches and our schools — than the crops, said.He tried to work his way around the flooded area in his pickup truck to find his workers and family members who might need a place to stay, but found all roads into the village closed.Tuesday's rain was the latest in a series of storms that have rolled throughout New Mexico in recent weeks, damaging roads, homes, canals and other infrastructure. To the north in Socorro County, residents also were asked to evacuate due to flooding brought on by Tuesday's heavy rains.More flooding was possible east of the Hatch Valley along the Rio Grande, which was expected to rise at least a foot overnight due to runoff.Residents who live along or near the river were urged to be prepared for evacuation on short notice, said Dona Ana County spokesman Jess Williams.

Death toll in China typhoon hits 319 54 minutes ago

BEIJING - China's death toll from Typhoon Saomai rose to 319 after dozens more bodies were found in a hard-hit southern city, the official Xinhua News Agency said Wednesday.Rescuers found another 24 bodies in Fuding, a city in coastal Fujian province, where Saomai killed the most number of people after it roared ashore last week, Xinhua said.By Tuesday, 202 people were confirmed dead in Fuding, with another 94 missing, it said.Neighboring Zhejiang province reported 87 deaths, while two people were killed in the inland province of Jiangxi, Xinhua said.Saomai was China's strongest typhoon in five decades.

The storm sank more than 1,000 ships and wrecked more than 50,000 houses when it slammed into China's southeast on Thursday with winds of up to 170 mph.China has mobilized thousands of soldiers to help rebuild damaged roads, power lines and water
supplies.

Most of those killed in Fuding died when the super strong typhoon broke the moorings on their ships which had sought shelter in the harbor, Xinhua said.Fuding suffered at least $312 million in damage, mainly due to lost fishing boats and catches of fish, Xinhua said.Parts of Fuding and five other cities in Fujian province suffered blackouts.

More than 1.6 million people fled their homes in Fujian and the neighboring coastal province of Zhejiang.

EU will help make Lebanon force 'robust', says Solana
15.08.2006 - 09:57 CET | By Honor Mahony(Eu observer)

EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana has said that he expects a quick deployment of troops to southern Lebanon and that troops from Europe will make the force robust.I've been speaking to several countries during the day and night and I think we will be able to guarantee that the force, as far as the Europeans are concerned, will be robust, Mr Solana said on Sunday (13 August) while in Jerusalem.

Mr Solana, who was in Lebanon on Saturday before travelling to meet Israeli prime minister Ehud Olmert indicated Canada, Australia, Indonesia and Malaysia may be non-EU countries prepared to take part in the international force. He went on to say that in a very, very short time at least 4,000 soldiers would be prepared to move into southern Lebanon.Later on Sunday, Mr Solana told Reuters news agency that deployment could start this week.

I would like to see people beginning to deploy by the end of the week, early next week - elements of the force, the headquarters, he said.France is expected to lead the force with Italy, Spain, Portugal and Finland all considering sending troops. On Sunday, the Israeli cabinet approved a UN resolution, passed unanimously in the UN on Friday, calling for an end to hostilities between the two sides with foreign minister Tzipi Livni calling it the the best that could be extracted from the Security Council.

The ceasefire resolution went into force at 8am local time this morning (14 August) and calls for the withdrawal of Israeli troops after UN and Lebanese forces move into southern Lebanon. Mr Solana said he hoped the past month of fighting between Israel and Hezbollah would never be repeated. It's important for the Israelis . . . to make a reflection about the significance of what has happened this month. It is a month that we must do the utmost never to repeat,he said. The fighting was sparked off by Hezbollah's kidnapping of two Israeli soldiers on 12 July and seen over 1000 people killed – mainly civilians.

EU countries lead way as composition of expanded UNIFIL starts to take shape Compiled by Daily Star staff Wednesday, August 16, 2006

Turkey, Italy and Germany were engaged in talks with regional leaders on the make-up of a UN peacekeeping force in Southern Lebanon on Tuesday, while Iran sent its foreign minister to Arab countries to discuss the crisis. A day after Hizbullah declared victory in its monthlong fight with Israel, the EU said the group must choose between being a responsible force in Lebanese politics or a beachhead for Iran.During a joint news conference with his Egyptian counterpart, Italian Foreign Minister Massimo D'Alema said Italy may dispatch up to one brigade, or almost 3,000 men.

After giving the first specific number for the country's contribution to the planned reinforcement of the UNIFIL force, D'Alema said that he was unsure whether it would be necessary to send so many troops. He added that the war had shown the futility of military force, after meeting Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak.

Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abou al-Gheit repeated his country's position that Egypt will not send participate in any forces separating between Israel and an Arab country. He refused to comment on the issue of Hizbullah's disarmament, saying it was an internal matter for Lebanon.German Chancellor Angela Merkel will meet coalition party leaders on Wednesday to discuss a possible troop deployment, a source in the coalition told Reuters.

One option would be for Germany to send its navy to patrol the coast off Lebanon and Israel, said Eckart von Klaeden, foreign policy spokesman for Merkel's conservatives (CDU-CSU) in Parliament. The coalition source said another alternative would be to send German police to the Syrian-Lebanese border.http://www.dailystar.com.lb. In Amman, German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier briefed King Abdullah II on efforts made by the European Union to secure a lasting cease-fire in Lebanon, a royal court statement said.Government spokesman Nasser Joudeh later said that his country would not contribute to the UN force.

In an interview with Spain's El Pais daily, EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana said that the seven-fold buildup of UNIFIL should start by the beginning of next week at the latest. The deployment will be a question of weeks, he said.He said that he hoped the disarmament of Hizbullah would take place in the most political manner possible so that the group becomes a political force in the life of a normalized Lebanon. But the relations between Hizbullah and Iran will make this process difficult, he said. Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki was received by Saudi King Abdullah Tuesday, delivering a letter from President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the official Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. SPA gave no details on what the letter said. The minister has been touring several Arab countries discussing cooperation over the situation in Lebanon. He also declared that Israel has suffered a defeat, when asked about the view in many parts of the Arab world that Hizbullah had emerged the victor. - Agencies

Israel joins NATO cataloguing system
The NATO cataloguing (codification) system is designed to create a uniform framework of inventory and equipment use in all NATO

member states.Amnon Barzilai 15 Aug 06 15:36

Israel joined the NATO cataloguing (codification) system. The IDF Technological and Logistics Directorate will implement the cataloguing procedures in the IDF ahead of the establishment of a national catalogue center. The agreement for Israel’s participation in the NATO cataloguing system was signed in June, after a year of negotiations. Israel is currently an associate member in the system and will obtain full membership within three years. The NATO cataloguing (codification) system is designed to create a uniform framework of inventory and equipment use in all NATO member states. Israel initiated negotiations to join the NATO cataloguing system two years ago, after an IDF Technological and Logistics Directorate committee studied the need to establish a uniform system of procurement procedures. The committee found that one of the greatest sources of waste in the defense establishment was the fact that there were about 100 independent procurement agencies.

The committee also found that the IDF, land, sea, air and intelligence arms simultaneously used dozens of uncoordinated cataloguing systems. The result was redundant procurements and a lack of coordination between different IDF branches, which caused inefficiencies and waste. The committee recommended streamlining the logistics units in the IDF branches by establishing a catalogue center at the IDF Technological and Logistics Directorate. This center will establish a single tag for all IDF items, which will act as a kind of ID number. The commander of the catalogue center said Israel’s joining the NATO cataloging system had immediate results. The NATO cataloging system includes 16 million items, and regularly publishes lists of equipment and supply items for sale. When the equipment is catalogued with the same uniform system, Israeli defense contractors can be included in the NATO database, and present their capabilities to all NATO states. www.globes.co.il - on August 15, 2006.

Iran, Syria praise Hezbollah, mock U.S. By ALI AKBAR DAREINI, Associated Press Writer Tue Aug 15, 12:35 PM ET

TEHRAN, Iran - Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Tuesday that Hezbollah has hoisted the banner of victory over Israel and toppled U.S.-led plans for the Middle East. Hezbollah's main backers Iran and Syria struck nearly identical tones a day
after a cease-fire took effect in Lebanon: heaping praise on the guerrillas as perceived victors for the Islamic world and claiming that Western influence in the region was dealt a serious blow.

God's promises have come true, Ahmadinejad told a huge crowd in Arbadil in northwestern Iran. On one side, it's corrupt powers of the criminal U.S. and Britain and the Zionists ... with modern bombs and planes. And on the other side is a group of pious youth relying on God.In Damascus, Syrian President Syrian President Bashar Assad said Washington's plans for the Middle East were turned into an illusion by Hezbollah's resistance to the Israeli military during the 34-day conflict.

Israel was defeated and Hezbollah hoisted the banner of victory, Ahmadinejad told the crowd, including many people waving yellow Hezbollah banners and Iranian flags.Ahmadinejad drew cheers when he said Hezbollah foiled what he called the plans of Washington and its allies to create the so-called new Middle East. The people of the region are also after the new Middle East, but a Middle East that is free from U.S. and British domination,he said.

After the war broke out July 12, Ahmadinejad and other Iranian leaders repeatedly denounced the U.N. Security Council for moving slowly toward a cease-fire. They also sharply criticized other Muslim nations for what Iran considered a failure to rally around Hezbollah and Lebanese civilians.Ahmadinejad said the United Nations should force war reparations from Israel and its allies, led by the United States. Those who were involved in inflicting damage to the Lebanese nation are responsible,he said.Ahmadinejad has drawn worldwide condemnation for calling for Israel's destruction and describing the Holocaust as a myth.Earlier Tuesday, a hard-line Iranian cleric warned Israel that Iran's new long-range missiles will land in Tel Aviv if the Jewish state should attack Iran, state-run television said.

Ahmad Khatami, a mid-ranking cleric, declared that Israel would face dire consequences if it makes an iota of aggression against Iran. They must fear the day 2,000-kilometer (1,250-mile)range missiles land in the heart of Tel Aviv,he said.Khatami is a Friday prayer leader in Tehran and a member of the Assembly of Experts, a clerical panel that has the power to choose or dismiss Iran's top leader, but he is not considered a government official. In his address, Ahmadinejad also said his government would stick by its plans to reply on Aug. 22 to a package of Western economic and technology incentives offered in exchange for a suspension of Iranian uranium enrichment. The U.N. Security Council has told Iran it must halt enrichment by Aug. 31 or face possible sanctions.

Western nations, led by the United States, claim Iran is using its nuclear program as a cover for developing atomic weapons in violation of its commitments under the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.Iran denies the allegations, saying its program has the peaceful goal of generating electricity with nuclear reactors.

Mediterranean oil spill prompts crisis meeting Tue Aug 15, 10:59 AM ET

ATHENS (AFP) - Officials from the United Nations, European Union and a maritime organization are set to meet in Greece Thursday to map out a strategy for containing a massive Mediterranean oil spill caused by the conflict in Lebanon. Nearly 15,000 tons of leaked oil from the Jiyyeh electric plant, bombed by Israel last month, has polluted some 140 kilometers (87 miles) of the Lebanese coast and spread north into Syrian waters, according to the United Nations Environment Programme.

If all the oil from the damaged facility, 30 miles south of Beruit, were to seep into the sea, officials said, the environmental fallout could rival the 1989 Exxon Valdez spill that devastated Alaska's Prince William Sound. The objective of the meeting is to coordinate a common strategy to confront the pollution and to devise actions to prevent the possible expansion of the oil spill, said a communique released by the UNEP and the International Maritime Organization, which are jointly hosting the meeting in Piraeus.

UNEP head Achim Steiner and IMO secretary general Efthymios Mitropoulos will chair the meeting, also to be attended by EU Commissioner for the environment Stavros Dimas. Representatives from Cyprus, Lebanon, Syria and Turkey will also participate, the Greek Merchant Marine said.Environmental officials and inspectors have said that the spill poses a direct threat to marine life and could also be hazardous to human health, including a heightened risk of cancer.

More oil has already spilled from the Jiyyeh plant than leaked from the Erika oil tanker into the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of France in 1999.In the worst-case scenario, if all the oil contained in the bombed power plant at Jiyyeh leaked into the Mediterranean Sea the Lebanese oil spill could well rival the Exxon Valdez disaster of 1989,the UNEP said. The Exxon Valdez spilled 37,000 tons of oil into Alaska's Prince William Sound after running aground on a reef on March 24, 1989, causing massive damage from which some scientists argue the area has yet to completely recover.UNEP said two environmental experts had arrived in Syria to begin assessing the impact of the Jiyyeh spill, which it said it feared had already affected marine life, particularly tuna and turtles, in the Mediterranean.

STANS RESPONSE TO DOV BAR LEIB

DOV BAR LEIB SAYS (UNDER LINKS:END OF DAYS JEWISH SITE,TO SEE IF HE PUT MY RESPONSE ON)

This is a reprint of a very recent letter to a reader of this blog. Events are changing so fast. Updates will be frequent if necessary. The letter Vav in the World of Yetzirah is spelled Vav-Aleph-Vav. The first six years of the Al Aksa intafada apparently will lead to the most chaotic year in world history, 5767. It is the Aleph year in the Vav in Hashem's name. There is no way to even begin to guess how this world will look when Rosh HaShana 5768 commences. Apparently, as the Gemorrah in Sotah ends, We have no one on whom we can rely except Our Father in Heaven.

Yes, Armilus the Wicked has caved in the worst possible way. He even made a little show of sending troops to the Litani without disarming Hezballah just to quiet the outrage in the Hebrew press who five months ago was celebrating his victory. These evil monsters at HaAretz, Ma'ariv, and the Last Idiot have nothing to complain about. They are now reaping the reward for their victory.

The international hordes will be at our northern border within two weeks. Kofi Anan, Monkey Cloud will be leading them like a cloud as Yechezkel 38 and 39 puts it. Vlad Putin, craving the next pogram, I believe will make a deal with Gog W. so that Russian troops have a leading role in the peace-keeping force. The Russians, Meshach and Tuval, cannot continue to exist without committing at least one pogram every few decades. I believe that Vlad smells Jewish blood. He may even abstain on inflicting economic sanctions against Iran just for the opportunity to be at the northern border, to beat up Jews, and to divide Yerushalayim hopefully in his mind within the year. Again All we have to rely on is our Father in Heaven.

Here is the letter:

The answer to your first question is that Armilus in the end only cares about Armilus and his wife, a genuine Makhsheifah (witch). The international force will probably be invited in by Armilus to patrol chunks of Judea and Samaria in 5767 about the same time that the US and Britain and one other Western power will go to war against Iran. Of course if there is a coup by supporters of Mashiach ben Yosef, the northern hordes will not wait to be invited in. To elucidate who Armilus is, besides the worst Prime Minister of any country in World History, you must understand his spiritual psychology. He believes that the world is not perfectible.

The entire purpose for serving G-d is therefore to make money, even though he himself has nothing to do with G-dly matters. He respects his good buddy Gog W. because Gog W. does serve G-d to make money at least for the United States. This only takes one to the 33rd level of purity, for only by serving G-d lishma can one rise to the 49th level of purity. The 33rd level is there because the Mon (manna) fell for the third time on Lag B'Omer (thirty-third day of the Omer counted from the day after Pesach until Shavuot a.k.a. by others as Pentacost). It fell for the first time on the 31st day of the Omer. Edom (Esau) does a calculation that he can merit the Mon forever if he has a chazakah (partial ownership) on the Mon when it falls the third time. This is the source of him not being able to lead Mankind above the 33rd level of purity. This is also the source for his affinity for Armilus the last king of the Erev Rav before he is replaced by Mashiach ben Yosef whom Armilus tries very hard to kill until Mashiach ben David kills Armilus. See Sefer Kol HaTor by Hillel Shklover, the Vilna Gaon's most dedicated personal student on matters of the final redemption.

Armilus reserves his strongest hatred for those groups of Jews who serve G-d lishma (for its own sake) who through religious Zionism represent a continuing spiritual and political threat toward undermining his worldview. He hates religious settlers so much that he is willing to risk losing a war to express his glee that now he will have a greater opportunity to destroy their lives just as he did in Gush Katif. What was accomplished by this war? Apparently a significant number of Coastal Plain folks have awakened to whom their PM really is, how evil he is, and how last March human garbage voted for garbage. (If you voted with the human garbage for Kadima or for Meretz, the path to teshuvah is very difficult, for you must bring the good saintly people of Gush Katif, Northern Gaza and the Northern Shomron back to a financially sound, productive situation. You must also restore the value of the homes of the good people of Sederot and other border cities and kibbutzim. Giving your home to a refugee who is living in a Caravilla and then sitting in sackcloth and ashes for a year for your crime might be a good way to remove yourself from the status of being human debris. G-d have mercy on us all if you do not start soon.) They are realizing that they need to throw out the garbage before they get thrown out with the garbage. When they realize this strongly enough, Armilus will be forcibly removed from office and replaced with Mashiach ben Yosef if the State does not lose its sovereignty to the northern hordes in the meantime.

My research indicates that the international force will attempt to take over in 5767, but the world will be in such turmoil from so many pressing matters, it is unclear how many people they will remove from their homes while G-d whacks and whacks them. By Pesach 5767 any attempt by a nation to remove Jews from their homes will lead to the decimation of that nation. In short these international forces may succeed but only at the cost of their continued existence. Armilus will probably be around all next year egging them on, leading one nation after the other to its demise. His destruction will probably occur in 5768 with the onset of the fourth year of Sukkot, the Year of Moshe. Since it was Moshe who begged HaShem to accept the Erev Rav, only in his merit can we finally be rid of their treachery.

You are right. Eretz HaGivli has not yet been wasted. There will be another round. Kiryat Shmona which is part of Eretz HaGivli (The Gavlan) on Israel's side of the border has been wasted, though. Sefer Yehoshua 13 says that Eretz Hagivli stretches as far southeast as Ba'al Gad which today is known as the Banyas, one of the headwaters of the Yarden. In short, not to worry.

Next year Gog W. will send the hordes against us so that he can deal with little Haman/Hitler in Tehran. He will ostensibly send them in as a peace-keeping force so that he can go up against the Persians without Russian opposition. You see, Putin and company (Meshach and Tuval) will probably be leading the hordes as part of Gog's international coalition. Gogumogog will take place. By the end of Sukkot 5768 the worst for Eretz Yisrael will, G-d willing be over. It will not be over for Chutz LaAretz though. In the Aleph year of Vav-Aleph-Vav judgement of the nations of the world will have only just begun. posted by Dov Bar-Leib at 2:57 AM on Aug 13 2006

MY RESPONSE TO THIS STORY,HE PROBABLY WON'T PUT MY RESPONSE ON HIS SITE THOUGH.

The Anonymous is right about Armilius being from Satan and Roman. You must go by what the Bible says: In Daniel 9:24-27 It deals with Israel and Jerusalem.

DANIEL 9:24-25
24 Seventy weeks(70x7=490 yrs) are determined upon thy people (ISRAELIS) and upon thy holy city,(JERUSALEM) to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks,(7x7=49 YRS) and threescore and two weeks:(62x7=434 YRS)(FOR a total of 69 weeks,
but 70 weeks have to be fulfilled, as we go futher we see were the 1 week or 7 yr period will be) the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary;(Who destroyed the 2ND TEMPLE-ROMANS) and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
27 And he (THE FUTURE ROMAN OR EU PRESIDENT) shall confirm the covenant with many for one week:(1 WEEK=THE LAST 7YR period or 70th week of Daniels prophecy to fulfill the vision and prophecy) and in the midst of the week( 3 1/2 yrs of the 7 yr
treaty) he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease,(THE EU DICTATOR CUTS THE ISRAELIS OFF FROM ANIMAL SACRIFICES) and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate,(The EU dictator dies,Satan incarnates his body,he comes back to life and claims hes GOD) even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

So we see Armilius has to be the FUTURE EU PRESIDENT 0R DICTATOR, since it was the Romans that destroyed the 2ND TEMPLE, not Olmert or Bush. This Future Dictator will be a European Jew from the line of King David and will come from either the New age or occult. I even believe his name could be Elijah. Since Elijah has to return to Israel in the future. And 1 last point , The False Vatican Pope and the False EU world dictator (MESSIAH) will be decieving people with false signs and wonders as I believe both will come from the New Age Movement or Occult. TROOPS COULD TAKE MONTHS TO ASSEMBLE

1-Dr Samuel Doctorian, the last 3 angels of judgement to come on the earth. 2-Peacekeeping troops could take months to assemble.

DR SAMUEL DOCTORIAN THE FINAL 3 ANGELS OF JUDGEMENT
THIRD ANGEL

Then one of the angels with wings showed me Europe from one end to the other - from the north all the way down to Spain and Portugal. In his hand he had a scale of measurement. I saw him fly over Europe, and I heard the words, I am grieved. I am grieved. Unrighteousness, uncleanness, ungodliness - all over Europe. The sin has risen to heaven. The Holy Spirit is grieved.I saw the rivers of Europe flooding and covering millions of houses. Millions drown. After seeing this, I read the news a few weeks ago. Czechoslovakia had the worst flooding ever. I also heard that the big river in China is in tremendous danger of thousands of houses being destroyed in flooding. I didn't know all this news until after I had seen the vision and heard what the angels told me.

Suddenly I heard earthquakes all over Europe.Countries that have had no earthquakes shall be shaken, said the angel. And suddenly, in my spirit, I saw the Eiffel Tower in Paris crumbling falling down. A great part of Germany destroyed. The great city of London - destruction everywhere. I saw floods all over Scandinavia. I looked to the south and saw Spain and Portugal passing through hunger and great destruction.

Many will die from hunger all over Spain and Portugal. I was disturbed by all this news, and I said, Lord, what about your children? The angel said, I shall prepare them. They shall be looking for the appearing of the Lord. Many will cry to me in those days and I will save them. I shall perform mighty miracles for them and show them My power. So in the midst of great destruction, there will be the grace of God in those countries. I was happy that God has His protection over His children.

FOURTH ANGEL:

Now we go to Africa. I saw the fourth angel with wings fly over Africa, and I could see from Capetown in the south all the way to the north of Cairo - I saw all the countries there, more than fifty of them. The angel of Africa had a sword in his hand - a tremendous, sharp sword. Suddenly I heard him say, Innocent blood has been shed. Divisions amongst the people generations far from the Lord they have killed one another, thousands of people. I have seen my faithful children in Africa, and I shall reward all the faithful in the continent of Africa. I shall bless them abundantly. I shall control the weather - scorching and burning of the sun in some parts. Great rivers shall dry up, and millions will die from starvation. In other parts, flooding. Foundations shall be shaken. My sword shall judge the unrighteous and the bloodthirsty. So many earthquakes shall happen that rivers shall flow different directions in the continent, flooding many villages.I saw great pieces falling from the sky over different parts of Africa There shall be trembling of the earth like has not been seen since the creation. None shall escape the sword of the Lord.I saw the River Nile drying up. It is the god of Egypt. Fishes dead and stinking all over Egypt. A great part of the middle of Africa will be covered with water - millions dying. Lord, I said, "It is all bad news. All destruction. Any good news?" The Lord said, "The final day has come. Judgment day is here. My love has been refused now, and the end has come.I was shaking and trembling. I thought I cannot bear it.

FIFTH ANGEL:

Then I saw the last angel flying over North and South America - all the way from the North Pole down to Argentina. From the east of the U.S.A. to California. I saw in his hand a bowl. The angel said he would pour out over these countries the judgments that were in the bowl. Then I heard the angel say, No justice anymore. No righteousness. No holiness. Idolatry. Materialism. Drunkenness. Bondage of sin. Shedding of innocent blood - millions of babies being killed before they are born. Families are broken. An adulterous generation. Sodom and Gomorrah is here. The days of Noah are here. False preachers. False prophets. Refusing of my love. Many of them have the imitation of religion, but denying the real power.

When I heard all that, I begged the angel, "Can you not wait for a little while? Don't pour it. Give a chance for repentance. The angel said, Many times God has spared and has spoken, but they have not listened. His patience has come to an end. Beware, the time has come. They have loved money and pleasure more than they have loved Me. As the angel began to pour from the bowl in his hand, I saw tremendous icebergs melting. When that happened I saw floods all over Canada and North America - all the rivers flood; destruction everywhere. I heard the world market collapsing with mighty earthquakes, and New York skyscrapers were tumbling millions dying.

I saw ships in the ocean sinking. I heard explosions all over the north country. I saw the angel pouring over Mexico and two oceans joining together- the Atlantic and the Pacific. A great part of north Brazil covered with water, the Amazon River turning into a great sea. Forests destroyed and flooded. Major cities in Brazil destroyed; earthquakes in many places. As the angel poured, great destruction took place in Chile and Argentina as never before. The whole world was shaking. Then I heard the angel say,This will happen in a very short time.I said, Can't you postpone? Don't pour these things out all over the globe. And suddenly I saw the five angels standing around the globe lifting up their hands and their wings towards heaven and saying, All glory to the Lord of heaven and earth. Now the time has come and He will glorify His Son. The earth shall be burned and destroyed. All things shall pass away. The new Heaven and New Earth shall come. God shall destroy the works of the devil forever. I shall show My power - how I will protect My children in the midst of all this destruction.

Be ready for that day, for the Lord has come.

My room was full of light from the brightness of the angels. Then suddenly they ascended up to heaven. As I looked up I saw the angels go in five directions. I know they already have started their duties. For more than an hour I could not move. I was wide-awake, trembling from time to time. I said, Lord, shall I leave Patmos now? He said, No, I brought you here for a purpose.I said, The message from the angels all over the world is not good news. It is judgment, punishment, destruction, devastation. What will people say about me? I've always been a preacher of love, peace and good news. The angel said,It is our message. You are the instrument, the channel. What a privilege that God has chosen you to give this message to the nations. I said, Lord, Thy will be done.To God be the glory.

Peacekeeping troops could take months to assemble
Ewen MacAskill, diplomatic editor
Tuesday August 15, 2006,The Guardian

Doubts about a speedy deployment of the proposed 15,000-strong United Nations force for Lebanon were expressed by diplomats around Europe yesterday.Javier Solana, the European Union foreign affairs chief, said he would like to see international troops begin deploying this week or early next, but other European diplomats said a speedy deployment of the force was hopelessly optimistic. They said it might be possible to send a few hundred as a symbolic gesture next week, but politically and logistically it would take weeks, and maybe months, to put together a force of 15,000.Marwan Hamade, Lebanon's communications minister, said the Lebanese army was preparing to cross the Litani river into southern Lebanon within two or three days. It would then be flanked by the first contingents of an international force, he said. The Italian foreign minister, Massimo D'Alema, said during a visit to Beirut yesterday that Italian troops could join a UN force within two weeks.

The UN has still to negotiate the details of the force's mandate. Kofi Annan, the UN secretary-general, is due to report on progress to the security council at the end of the week. There are already gaps emerging between France, which is expected to lead the force, and other countries, about its role. Philippe Douste-Blazy, the French foreign minister, told Le Monde that the mission would not include disarming the Hizbullah militia by force, a key demand of Israel's.France is reported to be ready to contribute about 5,000 troops to the force. Italy has promised between 2,000 and 3,000 and the Turkish prime minister, Tayyip Erdogan, called his cabinet together yesterday to discuss a contribution of between 800 and 1,200. Other countries have offered smaller contributions. Finland has promised 200, and New Zealand an unspecified number. Portugal and Spain are considering requests. Britain has ruled out any significant contributions.

Mr Solana listed Australia, Canada, Indonesia and Malaysia as among the non-EU countries prepared to join the force. Germany has not decided whether to send troops but has effectively ruled out combat troops, given its history. Any German contribution would likely be in areas such as surveillance or logistical support. The UN plan is for the 15,000-strong international force to deploy with 15,000 Lebanese troops, moving south as the Israeli army stages a phased withdrawal.A European diplomat, expressing scepticism about a speedy deployment, said there would have to be a meeting at the UN first to discuss an overall plan and a group would have to go to Lebanon to assess needs on the ground. Many of the ambiguities in the ceasefire resolution agreed by the UN security council on Friday would also have to be ironed out, he said.

THE SECOND ANGEL (THE SICKLE)

Then I saw that the second angel had a sickle in his hand, such as is used in harvesting. The second angel said,Harvest time has come in Israel and the countries all the way to Iran.I saw those countries in a few split seconds. All of Turkey and those [inaudible;] countries that have refused me and refused my message of love shall hate each other and kill one another.I saw the angel raise the sickle and come down on all the Middle East countries.

I saw Iran, Persia, Armenia, Azerbaijan, all of Georgia - Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Israel, all of Asia Minor - full of blood. I saw blood all over these countries. And I saw fire; Nuclear weapons used in many of those countries. Smoke rising from everywhere.

Sudden destruction - men destroying one another.

I heard these words, Israel, Oh Israel, the great judgment has come. The angel said, The chosen, the church, the remnant, shall be purified. The Spirit of God shall prepare the children of God. I saw fires rising to heaven. The angel said,This is the final judgment.

My church shall be purified, protected and ready for the final day. Men will die from thirst. Water shall be scarce all over the Middle East. Rivers shall dry up, and men will fight for water in those countries. The angel showed me that the United Nations shall be broken in pieces because of the crisis in the Middle East. There shall be no more United Nations. The angel with the sickle shall reap the harvest.

I saw this on June 20. Today is August 16. A few weeks ago I heard the news of villages completely wiped out and washed into the sea in Papua New Guinea. Thousand of lives in great jeopardy. That happened a few weeks ago, and the angel told me it is going to happen all over Asia.

Nuclear weapons

shall be used, killing millions.

EVERYONE PRAY FOR ARIEL SHARON AND THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM. PLEASE

Sharon's medical condition worsens,By JUDY SIEGEL-ITZKOVICH, Jerusalem Post

Former prime minister Ariel Sharon's condition, already in very serious condition at the Sheba Medical Center, has declined further, according to a rare medical bulletin issued Monday by the hospital. The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of his brain produced more severe findings, while his urine function declined significantly during the last 24 hours. In addition, he has developed pneumonia in both lungs, the hospital said. Hospital Deputy Dir.-Gen. Dr. Yitzhak Zeides declined to define Sharon's condition as critical. We are calling it very serious.

When we decide to change it, we will, he said. Sharon has been attached to a blood filtration system for some two weeks since he developed an infection and his kidney function failed. His sons Omri and Gilad were not at his bedside, as they received emergency orders to go to reserve duty in Lebanon. The multi-disciplinary Sheba team taking care of the 78-year-old former prime minister decided to administer powerful antibiotics and steroids to halt the speedy decline. The hospital spokeswoman said an additional update would be forthcoming if a significant change in his health occurs.

LUKE 21:25-26
25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
26 Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.

Flooding in southern Ethiopia kills 125 By LES NEUHAUS, Associated Press Writer 2 hours, 4 minutes ago

ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia - Torrential rains spilled a river from its banks in southern Ethiopia, killing at least 125 people as it submerged five villages, knocked down grain silos and swept away cattle, a police official said Monday. The disaster came a week after 256 people drowned when heavy rains caused flooding in an eastern town. Eight days of rain have made more than 15,000 homeless in this Horn of Africa nation, and U.N. agencies say several hundred people were still missing.Zeleke Menebo, deputy police commissioner for southern Ethiopia, said Monday that the latest deaths occurred Sunday and quoted local as saying the toll could rise.He said the Omo River burst its banks in the remote Omo Valley in Ethiopia's Southern Nations, Nationalities and People's Regional State. He said the waters flooded five villages, stranding thousands of people and killed 700-800 cattle.

The area is 435 miles south of Addis Ababa, with few roads or telephones to connect it to the rest of the country.Meanwhile police said the death toll from floods that hit the town of Dire Dawa, 310 miles east of Addis Ababa, on Aug. 6 had climbed to 256. Five people were also killed Wednesday by flooding in northern Ethiopia after heavy rains.

Typhoon death toll hits 255 in China Mon Aug 14, 7:41 AM ET

BEIJING (Reuters) - The death toll from the strongest typhoon to hit China in half a century has risen to 255, the official Xinhua news agency said on Monday. About 140 people are still missing. The death toll jumped as the southeastern province of Fujian on Monday raised the number of people killed there to 166 from about 40, Xinhua said, adding that most were fishermen from a single town.Saomai, graded a super typhoon with winds exceeding 216 km (134 miles) per hour, barrelled into Cangnan county in Zhejiang province last Thursday, flattening tens of thousands of houses, knocking out power and communications and ruining crops.

The deaths in Fujian were mostly reported in the coastal town of Shacheng, bordering Cangnan to the north, where more than 10,000 ships returned to harbour before Saomai's arrival.A lot of fishermen stayed on their boats, worrying that they might be damaged in collisions with other ships,Xinhua said. The wind was so strong that it overturned many ships and a large number of people were killed or went missing.A total of 138 people were killed and 1,350 injured in Fuding city, which covers Shacheng, Xinhua said. Bodies of 97 fishermen had been found in Shacheng by Sunday night.Hong Kong's South China Morning Post said locals feared as many as 1,000 people from the area could have died, but Xinhua said only 86 were still missing in all of Fuding and distraught relatives were still searching the waters by boat.

In neighboring Zhejiang, most of the casualties were caused by houses collapsing, Xinhua said, adding that 87 died and 52 were missing.Further inland, Saomai also killed two and left one missing in Jiangxi province.Saomai was stronger than a typhoon that killed about 5,000 in Zhejiang in August 1956, according to Chinese media.Much of south China has been repeatedly battered by typhoons and tropical storms this year, with nearly 1,000 killed by rainstorms, landslides and other disasters they brought even before Saomai hit.

Landslides, floods leave six dead, destroy eight hamlets in Philippines Mon Aug 14, 5:26 AM ET

PAGADIAN, Philippines (AFP) - Landslides and flash floods triggered by heavy rain have killed at least six people and destroyed eight villages in the southern Philippines, displacing thousands of residents. Katrina leaves 6 dead
The Philippine Star 08/15/2006

Landslides and flash floods triggered by heavy rains have killed at least six people and destroyed eight villages in Mindanao, displacing thousands of residents, rescuers said yesterday. A new tropical storm sighted east of Luzon is expected to intensify the monsoon rains over the next two days, weather forecasters said. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said tropical storm Katrina intensified as it moved east-northeast away from the country. The worst-hit areas were in Mindanao where flash floods, mudslides and unusually high tides destroyed bridges, villages and farmland in three provinces.

Just outside the town of Aurora in Zamboanga del Sur, a bus with 38 people was washed into a ravine by floodwaters but no one was killed, according to one report. Mayor Enrique Cabahug said the passengers climbed to safety with only seven people being injured. They were very lucky, he said. However, another report said three people were killed and seven others injured when two passenger buses, both owned by Rural Transit Inc., were swept away by a landslide as the vehicles were traversing a narrow mountain road in Barangay Anonang in Aurora at 6 p.m. Sunday. The bus with body number 1546, in which the three fatalities were riding, was buried by mud. The other bus fell a few meters from the side of the road. The report identified the fatalities as Delma Alam, reportedly a postmaster from Tungawan town in Zamboanga Sibugay; Felicitas Guyab and a still unidentified person whose gender was not indicated in the report.

Rescue teams from Iligan City and nearby cities and provinces immediately rushed to Anonang to assist in the rescue effort and clear the mountain road of debris using heavy equipment sent by the Aurora municipal government and the provincial government.

Zamboanga del Sur Gov. Aurora Cerilles said seven municipalities and the provincial capital Pagadian had been hit by mudslides, flash floods and sudden rise of tides in coastal villages. She said at least six people were killed when mudslides swept through villages. So far we have recovered five bodies and are looking for a child,Cerilles said. One pregnant woman was killed when the Roman Catholic chapel in which she had sought shelter with her family was swept away by mud. Boulders and loose earth rolled down the mountainside along a 10-kilometer stretch of coastal highway between Kapatagan town in Lanao del Norte province and Pagadian on the Moro Gulf side of the island, provincial disaster relief officials said.

The landslides cut off parts of the highway and residents fled to a government shelter in Kapatagan, they added. Water was so deep in some neighborhoods that residents were forced to climb on top of their shanties, where they waited for hours before disaster response teams plucked them to safety, officials said. At least five people drowned or were killed in landslides in Kapatagan, said regional police commander Chief Superintendent Florante Baguio. The southern and central Philippines have been hit by a spate of bad weather this month, with huge waves inundating coastal areas, destroying more than 1,200 homes. Pagasa said Katrina was monitored 840 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan packing maximum center winds of 65 kilometers per hour.

Katrina was moving east northeast at 17 kph. Pagasa said while Katrina would not directly affect any part of the country, it would intensify the southwest monsoon that brings rain over western Visayas and the western sections of central and southern Luzon. Katrina was forecast to be 1,160 kilometers east northeast of Cagayan this morning.

Residents in these areas are advised to take all the necessary precautions against possible flash floods, landslides and monsoon surge,Pagasa said. The Philippines is hit by about 20 storms and typhoons a year. Lino de la Cruz, Sheila Crisostomo, AFP, AP

Fires getting under control in Spain.

La Coruna, Spain - After ten days of battling flames, firefighters in the north-western Spanish region of Galicia had managed to put out over 100 forest fires by Monday, securing most of the area, the agriculture ministry reported. Some 50 fires were still burning in Galicia but these were mostly under control and no settlements were immediately in danger, the ministry said. We're seeing the beginning of the end, said Spanish Defence Minister Jose Antonio Alonso, who had dispatched 2,000 soldiers to the region as part of the firefighting effort. Over 1,000 forest fires broke out over the past 10 days in Galicia, killing four people and destroying over 50,000 hectares of forest and brush.

Most of the fires were thought to have been ignited by arsons. A Galician government official said the fires would have been long extinguished were it not for criminals creating new blazes. Twenty-seven people have been arrested in connection with the fires, which have transformed vast tracts of woodland into charred wastelands. Tourist operators in Galicia fear that the damage is so extensive tourists may be tempted to take their business elsewhere in future. In Portugal, firefighters were still battling four fires in the north and centre of the country. A firefighter was killed in an accident on his way to the scene of a blaze.

Palestinians Talk Ceasefire, Fire Two Missiles (hypocrit Arabs)
August 14, 2006 8:00 a.m. EST,Ryan R. Jones - All Headline News Correspondent

Jerusalem, Israel (AHN) - Palestinian terrorists operating out of the Gaza Strip fired two Grad-class Katyusha missiles into Israel Monday morning, even as Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh spoke of desiring a ceasefire with Israel. Speaking to Ha'aretz, Haniyeh said his government has no qualms about negotiating with Israel, and is ready to enter into a long-term truce involving all Palestinian terror groups. He said the only reason calm had yet to take hold was Israel's policy of aggression.

But from Gaza, it was Haniyeh's constituents who continued to perpetrate violence on southern Israel, hitting the heart of the coastal town of Ashkelon and the nearby village of Netiv Ha'asara. No one was injured by the Katyushas, which scarred buildings and cars with thousands of ball bearings. Islamic Jihad, a group allied with Haniyeh's Hamas, claimed credit for the attacks.

Israel responded with a pinpoint air strike on the source of the fire, which military officials say killed the rocket crew as it returned for the launcher. Palestinians claimed the fatalities were three farmers.

Lebanon truce holds By Nadim Ladki

BEIRUT (Reuters) - A fragile U.N.-ordered truce took hold in Lebanon on Monday after Israel's month-long war with Hizbollah guerrillas, prompting thousands of refugees to rush back to blitzed villages in the south. Hizbollah chief Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah said his fighters had achieved a strategic and historic victory over Israel and that it was the wrong time to publicly discuss disarming them.He said Hizbollah would immediately begin repairing homes damaged by Israeli strikes and would pay a year's rent and other costs to help the owners of about 15,000 destroyed houses.Nasrallah chastised Lebanese politicians who had begun talking publicly about Hizbollah disarming. There is a mistake in timing, both psychologically and morally,he said, noting the destruction just meted out to Shi'ite areas of Lebanon.Nasrallah was speaking on television about 12 hours after a U.N. truce halted fighting between Hizbollah and Israel.

Ground clashes, along with Israeli air strikes and Hizbollah rocket fire, ceased after the 0500 GMT deadline, but the Israeli army said its troops had shot five Hizbollah guerrillas, killing at least one, after the truce. The troops had felt threatened.U.N.

Secretary-General Kofi Annan said he was relieved that the cessation of hostilities appears to be generally holding. The truce prompted tens of thousands of Lebanese who had fled the fighting to head south, choking bomb-damaged roads with their cars in
spite of a warning from Israel not to return to the area. Drivers honked their horns in celebration.Ahmed Nassereddine arrived in the village of Shihabiyeh to find out that his building and petrol station had been destroyed by an Israeli air strike just 10 minutes before the truce.

PROPERTY CAN BE REPLACED

Thank God, we survived. Property can be replaced, souls can't,he said, holding back tears. In northern Israel, soldiers coming out of Lebanon were greeted with hugs and handshakes by their comrades. Streets became busier as residents emerged from homes and bomb shelters.I feel safer, said 12-year-old Johnny Wena, riding his bicycle through the streets of Metula.Israel launched the war after Hizbollah guerrillas captured two Israeli soldiers in a cross-border raid on July 12.Annan urged the sides to consolidate the halt to hostilities and move swiftly to convert it to a lasting ceasefire. The White House said disarming Hizbollah would probably require
border security arrangements in Lebanon to block arms supplies to the group from its allies, Iran and Syria. The U.N. resolution calls for a ban on arms supplies to groups in Lebanon, but does not say how it should be enforced. An Israeli military source said an air and sea blockade of Lebanon would remain until the arms embargo was implemented.

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert told parliament Israel would pursue Hizbollah's leaders everywhere and any time. About 1,110 people in Lebanon and 156 Israelis have been killed in the war. Israel says it killed about 530 Hizbollah fighters. Hizbollah has acknowledged only about 80 dead.

THOROUGH INVESTIGATION

Thousands of Israeli troops remain in southern Lebanon. Israel has said they will not withdraw fully until an expanded U.N. peacekeeping force arrives alongside Lebanese troops. The commander of an existing U.N. force in Lebanon, Major-General Alain Pellegrini, met senior Lebanese and Israeli army officials at the border to discuss implementing the U.N. resolution on ending fighting. Israeli Defense Minister Amir Peretz pledged a wide and thorough investigation of the war. Opinion polls show almost all Israelis supported it, but many criticize its handling. Olmert acknowledged shortcomings in the conduct of the war and told parliament he bore full responsibility.Aid groups said they needed swift access to the south to help 100,000 people stranded south of the Litani River. There can no longer be any no-go areas in Lebanon, said David Shearer, the U.N. humanitarian coordinator in Lebanon.

Under the resolution adopted by the U.N. Security Council on Friday, Israeli forces must start to withdraw as U.N. peacekeepers and Lebanese soldiers are deployed in the south to keep an area between the Litani and the border free of other armed groups.

Hizbollah has said it will cooperate with the Lebanese and U.N. troops, but has not promised to withdraw its fighters or disarm even though it has accepted the U.N. resolution. The truce has not resolved many key issues including the fate of the two captured Israeli soldiers and the Shebaa Farms area which is claimed by Lebanon but occupied by Israel. Netanyahu: Switch from unilateral to mutual steps (ynet news)

Opposition chairman tells Knesset Lebanon war proves that concept of unilateral withdrawals has collapsed Ilan Marciano Following Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's address to the Knesset plenum Monday night, chairman of the opposition Benjamin Netanyahu took the stage and delivered a compelling, if biting, speech. He recounted his efforts to help the government in its PR war, but was quick to criticize the government's policy.According to Netanyahu, There were failures in identifying the threat, in managing the war, in dealing with the homefront…There is no doubt that we must learn our lesson and correct our mistakes. We were asleep and we received a wake-up call. In 2000, we withdrew from Lebanon without guarantees and without security agreements, and this action brought about Hizbullah's speech about spider webs, which was adopted by Hamas. The resulting Intifada made us decide, out of
pain and out of good will, to withdraw unilaterally once more,Netanyahu declared.

These unilateral withdrawals deteriorate our deterrence, and lend credence to our enemies, a credence that improves their ability to bombard our cities and towns. This concept (of unilateral withdrawals) is now disappearing, and rightly so,he added.Like Olmert, Netanyahu opened his speech with condolences, noting both the harsh incidents and united Israeli spirit seen in recent days: All of our hearts skipped a beat when our soldiers went to battle to protect us and all of our hearts grieved alongside the families of fallen soldiers or the citizens who fell victim to attacks on our cities.

Ahmadinejad most bitter enemy since Hitler

Netanyahu emphasized that This is a moment of unity and a moment of self examination. I don't mean simply learning lessons from the recent conflict. I think that we need to examine our collective self as a state, based on one basic principle every living thing must do two things in order to survive: it must identify dangers and it must arm itself sufficiently to protect itself from these dangers.

Netanyahu stated the importance of nurturing military, state, economic and spiritual strength: A hundred years ago, our people did not have such capabilities. A leader, Herzl, saw the burning coals of anti-Semitism and understood that there was a threat of a fire that would threaten the Jews of Europe and eventually the Jews of the rest of the world. Today I say: we are standing before a grave danger. A new potential fire threatens our people. Not only our soldiers, citizens and economy, but our very existence. Yes, in each generation there are those that rise up seeking our destruction. But since Hitler, there has not risen such a bitter enemy as Iran's
president, Ahmadinejad, who openly declares his desire to annihilate us and his development of nuclear weapons in order to carry out this desire. Until he carries out his scheme, he is using his covert forces: in the south, Hamas, a Sunni force, and in the north, Hizbullah, a part of the Shiite arc that extends from Tehran to Lebanon, Netanyahu elaborated.

The opposition chairman praised security and rescue forces, as well as citizens in the line of fire and a third force, that came forward, the force of the entire nation…people enlisted privately…businessmen, teachers, nurses, spiritual leaders, artists, ordinary people. The nation opened their hearts and pockets and homes,he continued. In times of trouble, the people of Israel are all brothers and, in times of trouble, we must understand that the fate of one is the fate of all and that all people of Israel are responsible for one another.Regardless, Netanyahu stated that private donations would not suffice and that government intervention would be required. PROPHECY THROUGH ISRAEL FIRST THEN THE CHURCH

PROPHECY THROUGH ISRAEL FIRST,THEN THE CHURCH.

The Church is grafted into Israel. GOD does prophecy through Israel first, then through the Church since we are grafted into Israel.

We can be sure that if God does miracles in Israel, miracles will happen for sure in the Churches. GOD is now intervening in World events to fulfill prophecy and fulfill the Covenant of Land with Israel Promised by GOD to ISRAEL through Abram (Name changed to Abraham),Isaac and Jacob (Name changed to Israel). First through Israel, then the Church.

ISAIAH 8:18
18 Behold, I (of the Church) and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.(Jerusalem)

ISAIAH 35:1-5
1 The wilderness and the solitary place shall be glad for them; and the desert shall rejoice, and blossom as the rose.
2 It shall blossom abundantly, and rejoice even with joy and singing: the glory of Lebanon shall be given unto it, the excellency of Carmel and Sharon, they shall see the glory of the LORD, and the excellency of our God.

ISAIAH 26:18
18 We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen.

Like Pat Robertson said on his show the 700 club this morning Israel done all this for nothing, Israel trying to help the world and the Nations stop Israel.

Pat says-This tremendous effort, and now that its over, its a Peace treaty brokered by the United Nations under article 6 as opposed to article 7. Which means that the Peace keeping forces can not really fire on insergents such as Hezbollah. Their there as peace keepers not as a Military force.

Ahmadinejad Tells Wallace One Thing, Iranians Another
By Ezra HaLevi(INN)

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad explicitly called for Israel's death just days before assuring American journalist Mike Wallace that he merely wants to move the Jewish state to Germany.

Mike Wallace, the retired host of the popular 60 Minutes weekly television program, interviewed the Iranian president last week. Wallace returned from the interview describing Ahmadinejad in glowing terms and insisting he was not an anti-Semite.

The interview is set to air Sunday night. He doesn't like the United States for the reason that it's supporting the Zionist entity - he doesn't talk about Israel, Wallace told radio host Sean Hannity.

So you don't think he's an anti-Semite?” asked Hannity.

He himself, an anti-Semite, an anti-Jew?” Wallace responded. Yes,said Hannity. No, I don't,Wallace said. Asked by Hannity what Ahmadinejad meant when he called for Israel to be wiped off the map, Wallace said: Yes, he says wiped off the map, and of course I asked him over and over about that. He says in effect, It's perfectly sensible that, if there is a Holocaust - and let's buy the fact that there was a Holocaust – [we ask] where did the Holocaust take place? Did it take place in an Arab neighborhood? Did it take place in Jerusalem? No. It took place in Germany.

Then it seems to me, under those circumstances, take Israel, the Zionist entity,
he called it, ‘move it to Germany. Move it to Europe. That's where it happened.
The Iranian President himself, however, when speaking to his own people, seems to have a different sort of end of the Jewish state in mind. Ahmadinejad addressed a large crowd of Iranians just a week prior to his interview with Wallace, in which he not only led a chant of Death to Israel, but explained that he was not alone in such a pursuit.I hereby declare that this sinister regime [Israel] is the banner of Satan. It is the banner of the Great Satan,Ahmadinejad is seen saying in a speech broadcast by the Iranian News Channel (IRINN) on August 2.From the southernmost point in South America to the easternmost point in Asia, all the people are shouting a single cry. With placards in their hands and clenched fists, they shout: Death to Israel. At that point the crowd chants, Death to Israel. Death to Israel.

8/13/06 Iran warns it might quit IAEA - Speaker

Tehran, Aug 13, IRNA-Majlis (Parliament) Speaker Gholam-Ali Haddad-Adel on Sunday warned Iran might quit the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). There will be no reason for us to remain a member of the international bodies and IAEA if our
membership is to result in our deprivation from our inalienable rights.

Haddad-Adel was commenting on a resolution passed last week by the United Nations Security Council against Iran's nuclear case. Addressing the open session of the Majlis, he expressed regret that the Europeans cancelled a negotiation they had scheduled and channeled Iran's nuclear case into another path.

Iran will not accept suspension of enrichment, the speaker said adding, The balance between rights and duties should be observed in international organizations. He stressed that rights and duties are two sides of one coin and two pans of a scale.

Asefi says UN Resolution against Iran was a deviation

Tehran, Aug 13, IRNA-Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi here Sunday urged the Europeans to revise their policy on Iran's nuclear case. The Europeans have been diverted from the main course by adopting a resolution against Iran's peaceful nuclear program last week. This diversion leaves no room for raising and discussing many issues. We have lost confidence in the Europeans and it is necessary for them to revise their policy, Asefi told reporters at his weekly press confidence. We hope the opposite side will understand that the Islamic Republic of Iran is unfamiliar with the language of threats, pressure and intimidation and that the sides can achieve better results through logic and negotiations,he added. Asked about the time Iran would respond to the package of incentives proposed by the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, the spokesman said, The time of Iran's response is not the question. What is important is to create an appropriate atmosphere for this response.

Arab League criticizes U.N. resolution By MAGGIE MICHAEL, Associated Press Writer Sun Aug 13, 2:33 AM ET

CAIRO, Egypt - Arab countries criticized a U.N. Security Council resolution for not clearly labeling Israel the main aggressor in the conflict with Hezbollah, but expressed cautious hopes that an end to the monthlong conflict could be nearing. Eyptian President Hosni Mubarak was to meet Sunday with the foreign minister of Iran Hezbollah's top ally to stress that the region could not bear any more tension and push for the implementation of the U.N. resolution, a state-run Egyptian newspaper reported Saturday. The meeting comes a day before the cease-fire is to take effect at 8 a.m. Beirut time Monday (1 a.m. EDT).The Arab League criticized the U.N. Security Council for not labeling Israel as the main aggressor, but said the peace plan was the best option to halt fighting that has claimed nearly 900 lives.

The resolution is the best that can be achieved in the mean time under the unbalanced international equation, said Ahmed bin Heli, the league's assistant secretary-general.Qatar, the only Arab League member on the 15-nation Security Council, voted in favor of the resolution, which passed unanimously Friday.Jordan called the cease-fire plan a critical first step, and Turkey suggested Saturday that it could send peacekeeping troops. The plan calls for expanding the U.N. force in Lebanon and adding Lebanese soldiers to patrol a buffer zone between the Israeli military and Hezbollah guerrillas. Lebanon's Cabinet unanimously voted to accept
the plan, and Israel was expected to do the same Sunday.

Israel, however, has said it will not withdraw its troops until a strong peacekeeping mission is in place, while Hezbollah has made clear it won't stop fighting until the Israelis leave. This is the first step to stop the bloodshed which is an imperative priority, Jordanian Prime Minister Marouf al-Bakhit said after talks with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas. What's happening in Lebanon is
one of the repercussions of the Palestinian issue. We must revive efforts to resolve this problem.Turkish Foreign Minister Abdullah Gul said his country will look very favorably toward sending peacekeepers to Lebanon after a full cease-fire is achieved.Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmed Aboul Gheit urged Israel to acknowledge the international will by calling an immediate end to the attacks and pulling out of Lebanon.

Israel now should be committed and show total commitment by (announcing) an immediate cease-fire so that the elements of political settlement — which were reached after a big effort and after a heavy price was paid by the families and
civilians — can take place,he said.He also demanded investigations into massacres by Israeli forces during the war. AP correspondent Dale Gavlak in Amman, Jordan, contributed to this report.

Neighbors Smell Blood in Israeli Cease-Fire Acceptance
By Ezra HaLevi(INN)

Arabs and Muslims from Iran, Hizbullah and the PA are celebrating Israel’s acceptance of the UN ceasefire, dubbing it a surrender and calling on Arab states to attack the new weak Israel. After one month of war against Lebanon's resistance, Israelis are the absolute losers and Hizbullah is the absolute winner of the war,Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamida-Reza Asefi said Sunday.

The occupiers of Jerusalem failed, despite their military, economic, intelligence and diplomatic backings. The Iranian official said the Islamic Republic of Iran is very pleased with the ceasefire, according to state-run Iranian news agency IRNA. He warned, though, that attacks on Israel would continue as long as occupation lingers. He declined to outline whether occupation included retaining sovereignty in regions such as the Galilee which Hizbullah chief Hassan Nasrallah has termed settlements in his wartime addresses.

Let us not forget that as long as there is occupation there is resistance, he added.Hizbullah central council member Ahmed Barakat told Qatari newspaper al-Watan Sunday, Today Arab and Muslim society is reasonably certain that the defeat of Israel is possible, and that countdown to the disappearance of the Zionist entity in the region has begun… If a mere organization succeeded in defeating Israel, why would Arab nations not succeed in doing so if they allied? Many Arabs and Muslims viewed Israel in a fictional way and the resistance has succeeded in changing this.

Barakat boasted that none of Hizbullah’s leadership were injured, and that the group still possesses thousands of rockets and other surprises for use in the days following the implementation of the UN ceasefire. He added that the remaining missiles and weapons allow Hizbullah to strike Israel from afar and do not require the group to be near Israel’s border.Photos of Hizbullah-leader Hassan Nasrallah hang everywhere in Ramallah, according to Al-Jazeera, covering the walls and shop fronts and plastered across T-shirts and demonstration banners. The number-one song in Ramallah this summer, blaring [repeatedly] out of shops and streets stalls,is
The Eagle of Lebanon, referring to the Hizbullah chief.

Secularists, Christians and Muslims alike refer to the Hizbullah leader as Palestine's newest and truest hero, the Al-Jazeera report states. Back at Manara square in Ramallah, Waleed Ayyoub is still selling the Nasrallah images to all people of all ages even little children. He is especially proud of a sale made to an Arab-Israeli woman from Haifa, fleeing the Katyusha attacks on her city.

Resolution 1701, death knell for UN?

TEHRAN, Aug. 13 (MNA) -- On Saturday, a group of Iranian university students carried the coffin of the United Nations in a symbolic funeral procession in front of the UN office in Tehran. This protest actually arose from the depths of the hearts of the world’s nations because the UN Security Council’s support of Israel during the Zionist regime’s one-month assault on the Lebanese nation has brought the credibility of the international body into question. The Security Council, which has become a puppet in the hands of the major powers, has proven that it has lost the legitimacy required to resolve major international crises and that its resolutions are not worthy of being implemented. Resolution 1701, which was issued after a one-month delay, will exacerbate regional crises rather than help resolve the situation in Lebanon. The recent resolution will also pave the way for Israel to continue its atrocities against the Lebanese and Palestinian nations.Resolution 1701 not only fails to mention the Zionists’ savage attack on the defenseless Lebanese nation but also does not set a deadline for the withdrawal of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon.

In fact, the resolution has stipulated that the Zionists can determine when the war should end, although it is the duty of the Security Council to call on both sides to put an end to all military operations within 24 hours. Another issue neglected in Resolution 1701 is the need to establish a fact-finding committee to assess the damage inflicted on Lebanon, identify the aggressor, and supervise the unconditional withdrawal of the Israeli army from southern Lebanon.

Although the resolution was drafted under the pressure of the United States, Britain, and the Zionist lobby, some 48 hours after it was issued, the Israeli army expanded its military operations and killed dozens of civilians during an attack on residential areas in Lebanon.

This situation could eventually change global criteria, such that instead of moving toward universal respect for international law, the world will move toward the law of the jungle, according to which might makes right and the strong annihilate the weak. The surprising performance of the Security Council in authorizing the possessors of weapons of mass destruction to use all necessary action and even force creates a nightmare scenario for humanity and is a harbinger of global chaos. During the past month, the world witnessed the inefficient performance of the Security Council, the repercussions of which will primarily affect the major powers.

The UN’s actions will cause the current wave of terrorism to swell. Every terrorist group will feel emboldened to take unilateral measures in the absence of the instruments necessary to confront aggressors.Although it is not yet clear if the detention of a number of suspects on charges of plotting to bomb British planes is a plot hatched by Scotland Yard, it still serves as a serious warning for the West.

And no power will be able to quell the danger, because when Muslims feel that international organizations are under the influence of the major powers, they become frustrated, and this frustration will lead to the formation of underground movements bent on taking revenge on the West. Therefore, if the United Nations fails to take immediate measures to redeem itself and restore its lost credibility, the world will undoubtedly experience grievous incidents in the future that will affect global peace and security more than anytime in history.
