Following a widely watched hearing conducted by the US House Government Oversight Committee July 25, 2011 William G. McMahon, (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF)‘s deputy director of operations in the West, William D. Newell Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the agency’s Phoenix office and David Voth, field supervisor who oversaw Operation Fast and Furious that allowed over 2,000 rifles to walk into the arms of Mexican Drug Cartels, were whisked away to the safety of ATF Headquarters fortress on New York Avenue in Washington, DC.Many that viewed the hearing and most ATF agents in the field believe these men should have been arrested, or at the least fired, for their gross incompetence and outright violation of US Law.Attorney General Eric Holder has fought the Congressional Committee at every turn and evidence has grown to implicate his involvement in Fast and Furious to a degree that the number of Congressmen calling for his resignation increases each day.Is indictment of Holder, Newell, McMahon, Voth and others in ATF management just around the corner? There is not space enough in this column to go into great detail, however here are a few facts you can check for yourself.Let’s start with the murder of Border Patrol Agents Brian Terry and Jaime Zapata, not to mention every other cop and civilian harmed by a Fast and Furious gun. Each has been deprived of their Constitutional civil rights at the hands of ATF and DOJ Attorneys under the color of law.
42 U.S.C. § 1983 now reads in part:Every person who under color of any statute, ordinance, regulation, custom, or usage, of any State or Territory or the District of Columbia, subjects, or causes to be subjected, any citizen of the United States or other person within the jurisdiction thereof to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured by the Constitution and laws, shall be liable to the party injured in an action at law, (shorten at this point to save space)How about the commission of wire and mail fraud? There are huge wire fraud implications resulting from EVERY email, fax, and Teletype that occurred with the intent to mislead the true actions of Fast and Furious.All prosecutable under 18 U.S.C. § 1343 , carrying penalties that include shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 20 years, or both. If the violation affects a financial institution, such person shall be fined not more than $1,000,000 or imprisoned not more than 30 years, or both.18 U.S.C. 371, CONSPIRACY provides in part, outlaws conspiracy to commit any other federal crime.In the words of an ATF agent intimately familiar with Fast and Furious, You can commit a conspiracy with an unindicted co-conspirator. It appears this is the one that will kill them (ATF and DOJ Attorneys) in relation to very act the cartel/straw purchasers committed, including murder. In order to avoid this, they have to admit they are acting under color of law for ANY Law Enforcement protections. The problem with that is that acting under color of law requires you are within the scope of your duties and advancing legitimate law enforcement actions.
It is obvious to even the casual observer that Fast and Furious had no legitimate law enforcement purpose.For the sake of the good agents within ATF, the Constitution and the future of our country, hopefully, Congressman Issa and Senator Grassley will be joined by many other Members of Congress in pushing for full disclosure and then let the evidence lead where it will.That very well could conclude with the clanking of jail cell doors on public servants that have subjugated their duties to satisfy personal agendas rather than serve the country they took an oath to protect.

Preparing for the Final Takedown? There is a shocking piece of legislation working its way through Congress. A Defense Authorization bill for 2012 allows for military detentions of American citizens on American soil. These can be indefinite detentions, with no trial.The American Civil Liberties Union statement (more of an alert) on November 23, 2011 deserves special attention:The U.S. Senate is considering the unthinkable: changing detention laws to imprison people — including Americans living in the United States itself — indefinitely and without charge.The Defense Authorization bill — a must-pass piece of legislation — is headed to the Senate floor with troubling provisions that would give the President — and all future presidents — the authority to indefinitely imprison people, without charge or trial, both abroad and inside the United States.If enacted, sections 1031 and 1032 of the NDAA would:
1) Explicitly authorize the federal government to indefinitely imprison without charge or trial American citizens and others picked up inside and outside the United States;
(2) Mandate military detention of some civilians who would otherwise be outside of military control, including civilians picked up within the United States itself; and
(3) Transfer to the Department of Defense core prosecutorial, investigative, law enforcement, penal, and custodial authority and responsibility now held by the Department of Justice.The bill was drafted in secret by Sens. Carl Levin (D-Mich.) and John McCain (R-Ariz.) and passed in a closed-door committee meeting, without even a single hearing.The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is the nation’s oldest organization of its kind, emerging from the American Union Against Militarism, which opposed the US entry into World War I in 1917.Without endorsing everything the ACLU has done, it is possible to recognize this organization as careful. It is not prone to wild exaggeration.Fortunately, there is some resistance to the NDAA for 2012 bill, to this Department of Defense power grab, including by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif), the chairman of the Intelligence Committee, and Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.), the chairman of the Judiciary Committee.
In fact, Sen. Feinstein appeared quite alarmed:I will stop reading here, but again, I want to emphasize this point. We are talking about the indefinite detention of American citizens without charge or trial. We have not done this at least since World War II when we incarcerated Japanese Americans. This is a very serious thing we are doing. People should understand its impact.The White House is not enthusiastic about the present wording of the two controversial sections of the bill.
In a Statement of Administration Policy (November 17, 2011), the administration objected to two main items:
1) that the bill mandates the military detention of covered persons (restraining the Justice Department’s hand) and
2) that the detention provisions can cover American citizens within the United States.
Obviously, if the President is put in the position of having to sign a bill with such a provision (indefinite detention for Americans), it would spark bottomless outrage from from both Occupy Wall Street and the Tea Party.Even mainstream, apolitical Americans would be concerned about such a provision that, on its face, is unconstitutional. Ordinary Americans are already waking up to the specter of tyranny, and the NDAA for 2012 would accelerate that process.So the administration released this statement in an effort to trim the most offensive sections from the bill:Moreover, applying this military custody requirement to individuals inside the United States, as some Members of Congress have suggested is their intention, would raise serious and unsettled legal questions and would be inconsistent with the fundamental American principle that our military does not patrol our streets.Senators Levin’s response to the administration is troubling on two counts.
First, Sen. Levin’s response suggests that the administration changed its position midway through this process or, possibly, that there is a split between the White House on the one hand and the Pentagon or CIA on the other:Sen. Levin’s states that it was the administration all along that assisted with the wording:Section 1031 was written by Administration officials for the purpose of codifying existing authority.Then Sen. Levin complains that:The Administration itself asked that we delete language in section 1031 that would have excluded the detention of U.S. citizens or lawful resident aliens based on conduct taking place within the United States.Senator Levin insists that there is nothing in those sections that breaks with established law, and that the committee accepted the administration’s proposed changes to retain the civilian – rather than the military – option for detainment.
This is how Sen. Levin tried to put at ease the concerns:Nothing is automatic. The administration would have the discretion to waive military detention and hold a detainee in civilian custody if it decided to do so.Sen. Levin then proceeds to misinterpret the Supreme Court case that he himself cited: Hamdi v. Rumsfeld (2004). As Sen. Levin claims:The Supreme Court held in the Hamdi case that existing law authorizes the detention of American citizens under the law of war in the limited circumstances spelled out here, so this is nothing new.But the circumstances in Sen. Levin’s bill are not limited at all, since they involve indefinite detention without trial.Besides, the Supreme Court actually decided – in the Hamdi case in fact – that detainees who are U.S. citizens must have the ability to challenge their enemy combatant status before an impartial judge. This precludes indefinite detention without a trial.(Hamdi v. Rumsfeld had addressed the case of Yaser Esam Hamdi, a U.S. citizen being detained indefinitely as an illegal enemy combatant.)
As Justice Sandra Day O’Connor wrote in the opinion:… it would turn our system of checks and balances on its head to suggest that a citizen could not make his way to court with a challenge to the factual basis for his detention by his government, simply because the Executive opposes making available such a challenge. Absent suspension of the writ by Congress, a citizen detained as an enemy combatant is entitled to this process.Eight of the nine justices of the Court agreed that the government does not have the power to hold indefinitely a U.S. citizen without basic due process protections enforceable through judicial review.Clearly, this upcoming defense bill – especially Sections 1031 and 1032 – is plagued by confusion. Some of this confusion appears to be deliberate.The ACLU is supporting the Udall Amendment advanced by Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.). The ACLU claims that it will delete the harmful provisions and make sure that the bill matches up with American values.It is time, however, to raise a more fundamental question about the NDAA for 2012 and Sections 1031 and 1032.What sinister forces are behind the crafting of this legislation, behind closed doors? Most likely, officials in the defense and intelligence communities penned the legislation, then used Senators Carl Levin and John McCain to advance it.Sen. Carl Levin makes periodic sense, but he has spent much of his 32 years in the Senate helping to bloat the military-industrial and police-state apparatus. Meatime, across his tenure, the economy of his home state Michigan has imploded.And Se. Levin appears to take seriously the latest absurd accusation: that there was an Iranian-Zeta plot to assassinate the Saudi Ambassador in a restaurant. Sen. John McCain also makes periodic sense, but he has become a knee-jerk neo-con, unable to find a war (or a long-term occupation) that he cannot support.Sen. John McCain would do well to remove his name from such a draconian bill, lest he add more fuel to the rumor that, as a prisoner of war in North Vietnam, he was transformed into some kind of Manchurian candidate with a time-release program to destroy American democracy from within.As many Americans know, for over a decade there have been dozens of pieces of legislation and executive orders that have chipped away at the US Constitution, specifically at its Bill of Rights.The war on terror was originally to be waged against foreigners in far-away lands, but Rep. Ron Paul was right, the anti-terror infrastructure is swinging around to be used against American citizens.This was the design all along.The intention was always to immobilize the American public with a police-state control grid, now backed by the regular military, so that the process of economic extraction and political subjection could be completed.The NDAA for 2012 represents a significant step, on the part of the government, towards a final takedown.The bill’s provision for the indefinite detention of American citizens, without charge or trial, represents nothing short of an declaration of war by the federal government on the American people.Hopefully, more sensible Senators and Representatives will squash this diabolical legislation.

The police brutality against peaceful protesters in Berkeley, Davis, Oakland and elsewhere is bad enough.But next week, Congress will vote on explicitly creating a police state.The ACLU’s Washington legislative office explains:The Senate is gearing up for a vote on Monday or Tuesday that goes to the very heart of who we are as Americans. The Senate will be voting on a bill that will direct American military resources not at an enemy shooting at our military in a war zone, but at American citizens and other civilians far from any battlefield — even people in the United States itself.The Senate is going to vote on whether Congress will give this president—and every future president — the power to order the military to pick up and imprison without charge or trial civilians anywhere in the world.The power is so broad that even U.S. citizens could be swept up by the military and the military could be used far from any battlefield, even within the United States itself. The worldwide indefinite detention without charge or trial provision is in S. 1867, the National Defense Authorization Act bill, which will be on the Senate floor on Monday.
I know it sounds incredible. New powers to use the military worldwide, even within the United States? Hasn’t anyone told the Senate that Osama bin Laden is dead, that the president is pulling all of the combat troops out of Iraq and trying to figure out how to get combat troops out of Afghanistan too? And American citizens and people picked up on American or Canadian or British streets being sent to military prisons indefinitely without even being charged with a crime. Really? Does anyone think this is a good idea? And why now?
In support of this harmful bill, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) explained that the bill will basically say in law for the first time that the homeland is part of the battlefield and people can be imprisoned without charge or trial American citizen or not. Another supporter, Sen. Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) also declared that the bill is needed because America is part of the battlefield.The senators pushing the indefinite detention proposal have made their goals very clear that they want an okay for a worldwide military battlefield, that even extends to your hometown.
Part of an Ongoing Trend
While this is shocking, it is not occurring in a vacuum. Indeed, it is part of a 30 year-long process of militarization inside our borders and a destruction of the American concepts of limited government and separation of powers.As I pointed out in May:The ACLU noted yesterday [that] Congress is proposing handing permanent, world-wide war-making powers to the president – including the ability to make war within the United States:As I noted in 2008:An article in the Army Times reveals that the 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team will be redeployed from Iraq to domestic operationswithin the United States.The unit will soon be under the day-to-day control of US Army North, the Army service component of Northern Command. The Army Times reports this new mission marks the first time an active unit has been given a dedicated assignment to Northern Command. The paper says the Army unit may be called upon to help with civil unrest and crowd control.The soldiers are learning to use so-called nonlethal weapons designed to subdue unruly or dangerous individuals and crowds.This violates posse comitatus and the Constitution. But, hey, we’re in a national emergency, so who cares, right?(We’re still in a declared state of national emergency).I noted a couple of months later:Everyone knows that deploying 20,000 troops on U.S. soil violates Posse Comitatus and the Constitution.
And everyone understands that staging troops within the U.S. to help out with civil unrest and crowd control increases the danger of overt martial law.But no one is asking an obvious question: Does the government’s own excuse for deploying the troops make any sense?
Other Encroachments On Civil Rights Under Obama
As bad as Bush was, the truth is that, in many ways, freedom and constitutional rights are under attack even more than during the Bush years.For example:Obama has presided over the most draconian crackdown on leaks in our history — even more so than Nixon.As Marjorie Cohen – professor at Thomas Jefferson School of Law and past president of the National Lawyers Guild – writes at the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy:Army Pfc. Bradley Manning, who is facing court-martial for leaking military reports and diplomatic cables to WikiLeaks, is being held in solitary confinement in Quantico brig in Virginia. Each night, he is forced to strip naked and sleep in a gown made of coarse material. He has been made to stand naked in the morning as other inmates walked by and looked. As journalist Lance Tapley documents in his chapter on torture in the supermax prisons in The United States and Torture, solitary confinement can lead to hallucinations and suicide; it is considered to be torture. Manning’s forced nudity amounts to humiliating and degrading treatment, in violation of U.S. and international law.Nevertheless, President Barack Obama defended Manning’s treatment, saying, I’ve actually asked the Pentagon whether or not the procedures . . . are appropriate. They assured me they are.Obama’s deference is reminiscent of President George W. Bush, who asked the most senior legal officers in the U.S. government to review the interrogation techniques. They assured me they did not constitute torture,Bush said.After State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley criticized Manning’s conditions of confinement, the White House forced him to resign. Crowley had said the restrictions were ridiculous, counterproductive and stupid. It appears that Washington is more intent on sending a message to would-be whistleblowers than on upholding the laws that prohibit torture and abuse.Torture is commonplace in countries strongly allied with the United States. Vice President Omar Suleiman, Egypt’s intelligence chief, was the lynchpin for Egyptian torture when the CIA sent prisoners to Egypt in its extraordinary rendition program. A former CIA agent observed, If you want a serious interrogation, you send a prisoner to Jordan. If you want them to be tortured, you send them to Syria. If you want someone to disappear – never to see them again – you send them to Egypt.In her chapter in The United States and Torture, New Yorker journalist Jane Mayer cites Egypt as the most common destination for suspects rendered by the United States.As I pointed out in March:Former constitutional law teacher Glenn Greenwald says that – in his defense of state secrecy, illegal spying, preventative detention, harassment of whistleblowers and other issues of civil liberties – Obama is even worsethan Bush.Indeed, Obama has authorized targeted assassinations against U.S. citizens. Even Bush didn’t openly do something so abhorrent to the rule of law.
Obama is trying to expand spying well beyond the Bush administration’s programs. Indeed, the Obama administration is arguing that citizens shouldnever be able to sue the government for illegal spying.Obama’s indefinite detention policy is an Orwellian nightmare, which willcreate more terrorists.Furthermore – as hard as it is for Democrats to believe – the disinformation and propaganda campaigns launched by Bush have only increased under Obama. See thisand this.And as I pointed out last year:According to Department of Defense training manuals, protest is considered low-level terrorism. And see this, this and this.An FBI memo also labels peace protesters as terrorists.A 2003 FBI memo describes protesters’ use of videotaping as an intimidation technique, even though – as the ACLU points out – Most mainstream demonstrators often use videotape during protests to document law enforcement activity and, more importantly, deter police from acting outside the law. The FBI appears to be objecting to the use of cameras to document unlawful behavior by law enforcement itself.The Internet has been labeled as a breeding ground for terrorists, with anyone who questions the government’s versions of history being especially equated with terrorists.Government agencies such as FEMA are allegedly teaching that the Founding Fathers should be considered terrorists.The government is also using anti-terrorism laws to keep people from learning what pollutants are in their own community. See this, this, this andthis.Claims of national security are also used to keep basic financial information – such as who got bailout money – secret. That might not bode for particularly warm and friendly treatment for someone persistently demanding the release of such information.
The state of Missouri tried to label as terrorists current Congressman Ron Paul and his supporters, former Congressman Bob Barr, libertarians in general, anyone who holds gold, and a host of other people.And according to a law school professor and former president of the National Lawyers Guild, pursuant to the Military Commissions Act:Anyone who … speaks out against the government’s policies could be declared an unlawful enemy combatant and imprisoned indefinitely. That includes American citizens.Obama has refused to reverse these practices.
There Is Still a Chance to Stop It
The ACLU notes that there is some hope:But there is a way to stop this dangerous legislation. Sen. Mark Udall (D-Colo.) is offering the Udall Amendment that will delete the harmful provisions and replace them with a requirement for an orderly Congressional review of detention power. The Udall Amendment will make sure that the bill matches up with American values.The solution is the Udall Amendment; a way for the Senate to say no to indefinite detention without charge or trial anywhere in the world where any president decides to use the military. Here is a deeply disturbing truth of our age—one American group, our most aggressive political ideology, is dangerously reactionary, exhibiting all the hallmarks of a fundamentalist movement. Is this the Conservatives? No. This group is, of course—modern liberalism. In fact, during a recent debate witnessed by this author, one party claimed that any person holding a literal belief in the Bible should be kept from public office by law. Why? Because such persons are generally assumed unfit as they are incapable of rational thought. Specifically, the left must keep a perennial eye peeled for the advent of a theocracy.Sadly, this dismissive instinct towards forging a Conservative ghetto to protect the country is getting stronger. Signs of this idea are regularly given in the mainstream media. For example, the preoccupation with claiming each and every Conservative presidential candidate is simply too stupid to be considered for office. The implied evidence being they are too dumb to realize Conservatism is idiotic. Likewise, the claim that electing a strong Christian would destroy the country by Taliban-like activities—proved by the terrifying fact that the would-be-politician actually believes the Bible.And yet, most of the distinctive elements making the West the preeminent place of learning and enlightenment for the last 500 years are directly, or indirectly tied to our historic Christian faith. Further, attempts to employ Marxism and other socialist ideologies have resulted in the greatest human rights disasters ever recorded, with hundreds of millions murdered in the name of the State. This article is composed to point out the absurd contradiction in these facts and suggest a more tolerant view of religion in our society.
I. What is Modern Liberalism
Those demanding that Conservatives be politically sidelined are modern liberals—but what is modern liberalism? This definition is essential. Scholars claim the term liberal was employed during the last three centuries to describe the theories espoused by advocates of liberty. Then, around the turn of last century, socialists decided this term would be helpful to spread their ideas. Writes historian of Liberty Ralph Raico.Classical liberalism is the term used to designate the ideology advocating private property, an unhampered market economy, the rule of law, constitutional guarantees of freedom of religion and of the press, and international peace based on free trade. Up until around 1900, this ideology was generally known simply as liberalism. The qualifying classical is now usually necessary because liberalism has come to be associated with wide-ranging interferences with private property and the market on behalf of egalitarian goals, ie socialism.The most important thinker in the history of classical liberalism is probably religious enthusiast John Locke.
II. Hallmarks of Modern Liberalism, aka Socialism
So what are the traits of modern liberalism, aka socialism? In brief here is a description which hits upon the parochial and inflexible nature of its outlook. First, it makes dramatic and exclusive claims about reality which then implies those who disagree display perilous mental infirmity, suffer an utter lack of education or unforgivable moral bankruptcy. Second, given its primitive structure, it cannot accept compromise, since it claims a position of exclusive, unparalleled truth. Third, it is simplifying to a startling degree, and simplistic in its claims of the nature of reality. As such, it cannot risk engagement in debate, and therefore constantly seeks to derail any meaningful dialogue. Fourth, it has an autocratic leadership structure taking the place of an inner set of core truths, and so is capable of infinite permutations and contradictions. Fifth, it is overwhelmingly religious in its vision and structure, and so is held with all the fervor of pagan beliefs common thousands of years ago. Finally, as in all true fundamentalism, it seeks to either permanently silence or annihilate its critics.To explain why modern leftism has the characteristic structure it does goes farther afield than the purpose of this article. But it does have everything to do with the fact that socialism and all progressive ideologies, including Marxism and Fascism, derive their structure and purpose from Joachim of Flora’s heretic 12th century Catholic writings (as detailed here).
III. Modern Liberals Belching Bigotry
A. Stupid is as Stupid Does
As Newt Gingrich has recently risen to the top of the GOP 2012 presidential primary heap, he received the de riguer mainstream press treatment of prominent conservatives being insulting described as not-intelligent. The following headlines illustrate the point:Politico, website of conservative knee-capping (which single-handedly committed itself to the demise of Herman Cain) asks: Is Newt Gingrich as smart as he thinks? The author then writes,Nobody thinks of Gingrich as a wonky type. Nobody thinks of him as someone who has serious positions, white papers, policies on a wide array of issues coming from deep knowledge and experience, said Roderick Hills Jr., a constitutional law professor at New York University who’s active in the conservative Federalist Society. I don’t think of him that way, and I don’t know of any professor who thinks of him that way.Paul Krugman: Newt Gingrich Is A Stupid Man’s Idea Of What A Smart Person Sounds Like. NY Times columnist Krugman has established recent high-water-marks on ill-advised and frankly idiotic commentary, but may have reached his zenith here. When asked why Gingrich has gained in the polls, preternaturally childish Krugman said:It was his time, the Republican base doesn’t want Romney and they keep looking for an alternative, and Newt—although somebody said he’s a stupid man’s idea of what a smart person sounds like, but he is more plausible than the other guys they’ve been pushing up..But how can ALL conservative politicians be described as dumb unless the conservative movement itself is lacking in any intellectual soundness? B. Christianity—Dangerous Fundamentalism!
Further, it is assumed that anyone who believes literally in the Bible cannot think rationally, accept logic or science, or if elected—lead outside of direct application of all scripture. This is why the mainstream media cannot rest until each candidate receives vigorous personal attacks, outside of which, these politicians would come into a race against Obama unduly strong versus his weakling profile.For example, to choose just one target, Rick Perry’s faith has come under scrutiny:Is Rick Perry as Christian as He Thinks He Is? IV. Why the Traditional Western Christian Viewpoint Trumps Liberalism
A. General Impact of Christian Ideas on West
Various stories of how Christians uniquely influenced history to the benefit of mankind have been detailed, a few in this column. For example, it was a Christian who laid out the most important document in the history of British law and liberty—the Magna Carta—Archbishop Stephen Langton, as described here: Why Separating Church & State is a Fool’s Errand: Consider Magna Carta’s Origins.And even religious tolerance itself was a Christian concept, as outlined by Puritan philosopher John Locke, who wrote A Letter Concerning Toleration which outlined his ideas on tolerating unpopular or diverse religious beliefs. B. Natural Rights—A Christian Theory
But it was even Christian scholarship which created the raw material that the entire modern view of government and law is based upon—Natural Rights Theory. In fact, it was William of Occam who first articulated modern Rights Theory as we might understand it. Occam was a famed Christian scholar regarded as one of the most brilliant and learned men of his day.According to Brian Tierney, in The Idea of Natural Rights: Studies on Natural Rights, Natural Law, and Church Law 1150 1625, Occam was a colossus of Right’s Theory who wrote from an explicitly Christian viewpoint. In other words, the idea of modern rights, so essential to liberal and even radically humanistic ideals, would not have occurred without biblical scholars positing Christian rights doctrines.Paul E. Sigmund, Professor Emeritus, Princeton University, in NATURAL LAW, CONSENT, and EQUALITY: WILLIAM of OCKHAM to RICHARD HOOKER, writes:Ockham’s writings on natural law are significant for the ideas of both individual rights and consent to government. Defending his Franciscan order against papal criticisms of their teachings on spiritual poverty, he distinguished among the various meanings of the Latin word jus (law, right) and dominium (rule, property) to defend an individual right to property. While he was not a canon lawyer, he cited arguments from medieval Church lawyers who had already debated the status of property and attempted to explain and justify the transition from communal property before Adam’s Fall to the contemporary institution of private property. Ockham was also one of the first to derive the legitimacy of government from consent. V. Conclusion
Christianity is responsible for most of the West’s distinctive doctrines, a few of which are outlined above. Therefore, it would be both unwise and unjust to penalize Believers simply for their belief, by keeping them from public office. Further, since modern liberalism, aka socialism is so failed at building an economy, and seems so ill-designed for the actual construction and direction of a proper modern democracy, it seems suicide to treat our Conservative politicians like garbage. The only way forward through these staggering times is undoubtedly setting aside trendy, failed policies and embracing what made America superb in the past.

The Australian government has created financial incentives to almost force parents into vaccinating. Still, the Australian government isn’t happy with what they have.

In Australia, parents receive $726 per child as Family Tax Benefit (FTB) at year’s end. In order to receive those benefits now, parents will have to provide proof of vaccinations for each child at one, two, and five years of age. So if a parent refuses to consent to their child’s vaccinations to the full schedule, that family would be minus $2,178.Already, non-vaccinating families were prohibited from child care benefits and rebates. The benefits program offered assistance to lower income families. Rebates are available for any income level family to pay half of out of pocket children’s annual medical expenses up to a maximum $7500.This latest ruling replaces the bribe of $129 for meeting the full vaccination schedule at the ages of two and five. The bribe and the two benefit restrictions seemed to have worked with most parents. Yet, the government is not satisfied with this high percentage.This last financial blackmail mandate comes at the same time the childhood vaccination schedule was made more severe. The MMR (measles, mumps, rubella) three in one shot will be a four in one with a chickenpox vaccine added. And it will be administered at 18 months instead of the MMR’s previous schedule at four years of age.
So 89% of Australian children have received all their required vaccinations by age five, and a quick survey poll in Australia’sHerald Sunshows 60% favor penalizing parents who don’t fully vaccinate their kids. I have always believed one cannot possibly be a Persian and hold to the lofty tenets of the ancient Iranian Zoroastrian triad of good thoughts, good words, good deeds, and remain a Muslim. In the same fashion, one cannot cherish American values, the Bill of Rights and the United States Constitution and be a true Muslim. They are comprehensively incompatible with Sharia Law.cyrus_the_great_cylinderIranian Muslims are victims of the Islamic virus that has destroyed in them their traditional respect for diversity. It is the Iranian ancient fundamental belief in the validity and value of diversity that is enshrined in the Cyrus the Great Cylinder, the unconditional respect for the complete rights of all the people of the world (an anathema to the Islamists’ credo) that has held the nation together over the millennia. Although Islam was imposed on Iran some 1,400 years ago, Iranians deeply value their own ancient non-Arab identity and have never fully surrendered to the Arab culture.Currently, a large number of Iranians are completely fed up with Islam and they want to leave this dogma of hate and violence. In fact, many already have, but they simply aren’t able to come forward and announce it, for obvious reasons.
Such duplicity exists within the Iranian culture. Originally, Iranians were forced to accept Islam to save their lives from Arab invaders, but deep within the heart of every single Iranian alive today, exists a burning resentment of the Arab-Islamic invasion of their homeland and culture. It is ironic that many Iranians may actually confess to being Muslims; yet, an overwhelming number of Iranians have never read the Quran or understand its language. The events in history have toughened present day Iranians. They have become great pretenders. But the totality of 1400 years of Islamic barbarity and savagery must end. We no longer need to pretend that we are practicing Muslims; when in fact, we are not.Realistically speaking, there is perhaps 10-15 percent of the population that continues to support the clerical system in varying degrees. Many in this group are government employees, Mullahs, and hired thugs such as the Basiji. Also, the regime has some backers among the poor, the less educated, and the deeply religious. Yet, the alienation from the regime and Islam spans the entire spectrum of the Iranian society with the intelligentsia and the university students leading the determined opposition to end Islamic rule.
Masses of Iranians are irreparably alienated from a corrupt and oppressive Islamic rule. The rule of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) is crumbling. The previously solid edifice, or at least the appurtenance of it, is finally showing many cracks that continue to grow. There are just too many fault lines to list here.My fellow secularist Iranians and I have indeed done, and continue to do, what we can to help our compatriots in Iran, who are on the front line fighting Islam and the Islamic Regime.

The 2009 protests were just as much against the Islamic Republic as they were about Shi’a Islam. In fact, much of it was against Islam itself. People have experienced what a primitive and defective system of belief Islam is and aim to abandon it for good. Many will still hang on to it to some extent for some time. Yet, a great many would simply leave Islam and even actively oppose it.There are still those who foolishly claim that Muhammad was a messenger from God and the Quran is a divinely revealed book. My suggestion is that they use their intellect and read the Quran fully for themselves without the assumption that the book is the literal word of God and that Muhammad was their messenger. Yet, Islam is not only an obsolete vestige of a defunct era, but itself is an infinitely fractured belief that can hardly put its own home in order. The numerous Islamic sects are at each other’s throats; sub-sects and schools despise one another as much as they hate non-Muslims. Hatred, not love, drives Islam.I am not against Muslims. I condemn Islam with all its derivatives and those who support and promote it. Muslims are patients and Islam is a disease. You want to help the patients to rid themselves of the affliction. You want to eradicate a horrifically communicable disease. Although many prefer to tackle the militant version of Islam Islamism, for all intents and purposes, there is no sharp demarcation between, Islamists, Jihadists and Islamism. One and all are progeny of Islam itself. Any differences among the three are of degree and not kind. When one addresses Islamism and jihadism, their source is also addressed.Regrettably, Islam cannot be reformed. Keep in mind that Islam claims it is the perfect eternal faith for mankind. Splits have occurred and will continue to occur in Islam. Yet, reformation has not happened in nearly 1400 years and is not going to happen. Islam is carved in granite, just the way it is. No change. Allah’s book is sealed.
In the monumental task of dealing with Islam and its variations, every individual, group and government must combine their resources and energies to prevail. We must urge all people to resist Islam’s encroachment and not be deceived by its sanitized version presented in non-Islamic lands. The destiny of civilized life hangs in the balance. Shirking of this responsibility would be an unpardonable act of every enlightened human being and organization that values human liberty and dignity.

In the same fashion, one cannot cherish American values, the Bill of Rights and the United States Constitution and be a true Muslim. The events in history have toughened present day Iranians. They have become great pretenders. But the totality of 1400 years of Islamic barbarity and savagery must end. We no longer need to pretend that we are practicing Muslims; when in fact, we are not.Realistically speaking, there is perhaps 10-15 percent of the population that continues to support the clerical system in varying degrees. Many in this group are government employees, Mullahs, and hired thugs such as the Basiji. Also, the regime has some backers among the poor, the less educated, and the deeply religious. Yet, the alienation from the regime and Islam spans the entire spectrum of the Iranian society with the intelligentsia and the university students leading the determined opposition to end Islamic rule.
Masses of Iranians are irreparably alienated from a corrupt and oppressive Islamic rule. The rule of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) is crumbling. The previously solid edifice, or at least the appurtenance of it, is finally showing many cracks that continue to grow. There are just too many fault lines to list here.My fellow secularist Iranians and I have indeed done, and continue to do, what we can to help our compatriots in Iran, who are on the front line fighting Islam and the Islamic Regime.

Spain’s Foreign Minister Trinidad Jimenez presented a new policy for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict on Saturday, declaring Israel as the homeland of the Jews for the first time and saying that the issue of Palestinian refugees should be solved in such a way that it does not compromise Israel’s current demographic makeup of a Jewish majority.Jimenez’s speech before the United Nations General Assembly is particularly dramatic in light of the fact that Spain is considered the leading EU country to support Palestinian rights. Adopting such a pro-Israel stance may lead to other countries to follow suit.

She recounted how since Israel’s inception, it has suffered through many wars and terrorism against its people, adding that Israel’s security is a top priority for Spain.Jimenez called for the establishment of a Palestinian state along 1967 lines, with agreed swaps and Jerusalem as a shared capital with Israel.The security of Israel and Palestine will require effective guarantees in the future peace agreement, including a possible international participation, should the parties request it,the Spanish foreign minister said. She made clear that the best way to achieve such a deal would be through a negotiated peace treaty.The Spanish foreign minister also addressed the painful drama of the Palestinian refugees, presenting a new policy on this issue as well. She said that the refugee problem should be justly agreed upon by both Israel and the Palestinians, while still preserving Israel’s character as a Jewish state.
Jimenez said that Spain supports the General Assembly granting Palestine the status of a non member observer state, explaining that the international community must show that it is committed to the creation of an independent Palestinian state.

With fiscal time bombs ticking in both Europe and the United States, the pertinent question for now seems to be which will explode first. For much of the past few months it looked as if Europe was set to blow.But Angela Merkel’s refusal to support a Federal Reserve style bailout of European sovereigns and her recent statement the she had no Hank Paulson style fiscal bazooka in her handbag, has lowered the heat. In contrast, the utter failure of the Congressional Super Committee in the United States to come up with any shred of success in addressing America’s fiscal problems has sparked a renewed realization that America’s fuse is dangerously short.Chancellor Merkel has been emphatic that European politicians not be given a monetary crutch similar to the one relied on by their American counterparts. Her laudable goal, much derided on the editorial pages of the New York Times, is to defuse Europe’s debt bomb with substantive budget reforms, and as a result to make the euro the strongest currency in the world. Much has been made of the poorly received auction today of German Government bonds, with some saying the lack of demand (which pushed yields on 10-year German Bonds past 2% –hardly indicative of panic selling) is evidence of investor unease with Merkel’s economic policies. I would argue the opposite: that many investors still think that Merkel is bluffing and that eventually Germany will print and stimulate like everyone else. It is likely for this reason that yields on German debt have increased modestly.
In contrast, the U.S. is crystal clear in its intention to ignore its debt problems. With the failure of the Super Committee this week it actually became official. American politicians will not, under any circumstances willingly confront our underlying debt crisis. While the outcome of the Super Committee shouldn’t have come as a great surprise, the sheer dysfunction displayed should serve as a wakeup call for those who still harbor any desperate illusions. Some members of Congress, such as John McCain, have even come out against the $1.2 trillion in automatic spending cuts that would go into effect in January 2013. Expect more politicians of both parties to cravenly follow suit.Over the next decade, the U.S. government expects to spend more than $40 trillion. Even if the $1.2 trillion in automatic cuts are allowed to go through, the amount totals just 3% of the expected outlays. In a masterstroke of hypocritical accounting, $216 billion of these proposed cuts merely represent the expected reductions in interest payments that would result from $984 billion of actual cuts. These cuts won’t make a noticeable dent in our projected deficits, which if history can be any guide, will likely rise by much more as economic reality proves far gloomier than government statisticians predict. Finally, the cuts are not cuts in the ordinary sense of the word, where spending is actually reduced. They are cuts in the baseline, which means spending merely increases less than what was previously budgeted.In the mean time, the prospect of sovereign default in Europe is driving safe haven demand for the dollar. So contrary to the political blame game, Europe’s problems are actually providing a temporary boost to America’s bubble economy. However, a resolution to the crisis in Europe could reverse those flows. And given the discipline emanating from Berlin, a real solution is not out of the question. If confidence can be restored there, each episodic flight to safety may be less focused on the U.S. dollar. Instead, risk-averse investors may prefer a basket of other, higher-yielding, more fiscally sustainable currencies.The irony is that Europe is actually being criticized for its failure to follow America’s lead. This misplaced criticism is based on the mistaken belief that our approach worked. It did not. Sure, it may have delayed the explosion, but only by assuring a much larger one in the future. In the mean time, many have mistaken the delay for success.
However, if Merkel’s hard line works, and real cuts follow, Europe will be praised for blazing a different trail. As a result the euro could rally and the dollar sink. Commodity prices will rise, putting even more upward pressure on consumer prices and interest rates in the United States.Any significant reversal of the current upward dollar trend could provide a long awaited catalyst for nations holding large dollar reserves to diversify into other currencies. My guess is that Merkel understands the great advantage the U.S. has enjoyed as the issuer of the world’s reserve currency. I believe she covets that prize for Europe, and based on her strategy, it is clearly within her reach.There is an old saving that one often does not appreciate what one has until it’s lost. The nearly criminal foolishness now on display in Washington may finally force the rest of the world to cancel our reserve currency privileges. The loss may give Americans a profound appreciation of this concept.

Aside from representing a show of strength to discourage NATO powers from launching a military attack, on board were Russian technical experts ready to help Damascus set up a sophisticated missile defense system sold to them by Moscow.Russian warships that have reached waters off Syria in recent days were carrying, among other things, Russian technical advisors who will help the Syrians set up an array of S-300 missiles Damascus has received in recent weeks, a report in the London-based Arabic language Al Quds-Al Arabi said Thursday. Citing sources in Syria and Russia, the paper said that Moscow sees a Western attack on Syria as a red line that it will not tolerate, reports Arutz Sheva.
The S-300 missiles, which according to the report will be used to deflect a possible attack by NATO or the U.S. and EU, are long range surface-to-air missiles developed by Russia in 1979 for the purpose of protecting large industrial and military bases from enemy attack aircraft and cruise missiles.The system is widely regarded as one of the most powerful anti-aircraft arrays in modern warfare, having the ability to track up to 100 targets and engage 12 at any one time. Russia recently tried to sell the same system to Iran but the transaction was halted after pressure from the U.S. and Israel.Arming Syria with such a proficient means of aerial defense would obviously not bode well for any prospective no fly zone being planned by western powers. Reports have been circulating this week that fighter jets from Turkey and other Arab states would soon enter Syrian airspace under humanitarian pretenses with logistical aid from the United States.Along with the missiles, the report says that Russia has installed advanced radar systems in all key Syrian military and industrial installations. The radar system also covers areas north and south of Syria, where it will be able to detect movement of troops or aircraft towards the Syrian border. The radar targets include much of Israel, as well as the Incirlik military base in Turkey, which is used by NATO,states the report.French foreign minister Alain Juppé yesterday assured Syrian opposition forces that NATO powers are planning to launch a military intervention by imposing humanitarian corridors or humanitarian zones in the name of protecting civilians from the alleged abuses of the al-Assad regime.The prospect of air strikes being launched under a humanitarian banner are seen as increasingly likely given the fact that the aircraft carrier George H.W. Bush has been moved to the Syrian coast in recent days having left its traditional theater of operations just off the Straits of Hormuz.

BRUSSELS - One of the main weapons in the record industry's arsenal against illegal file-sharing has been struck down by the EU's top court as a breach of fundamental rights.The European Court of Justice ruled on Thursday (24 November) that internet service providers (ISPs) cannot be be forced to filter internet traffic and block users from trading copyright music or other files, as to do so undermines privacy rights and the ability of people to freely exchange information.In 2007, Sabam, a Belgian collecting society - the outfits that gather royalties on behalf of artists - took Scarlet, an internet provider, to court, seeking to force the company to filter all peer-to-peer traffic and then block any unlawful communications.A Belgian court approved the injunction, forcing the company to install a filtering system. The ISP appealed, and the case was referred to the EU top court.EU law precludes the imposition of an injunction by a national court which requires an internet service provider to install a filtering system with a view to preventing the illegal downloading of files, the court decided.[The] injunction could potentially undermine freedom of information since that system might not distinguish adequately between unlawful content and lawful content.Digital rights advocates are calling the ruling hugely important not just for file-sharers in Europe, but around the world.The principles laid down in just a few lines in one of the paragraphs in the judgment are so strong that it will take a lot for states, which in recent years have increasingly embraced efforts to have ISPs police the internet, to move forward with the strategy they have placed their bets on.
It pretty much fatally wounds the very strong effort on the part of governments to privatise law enforcement, Joe McNamee, the director of European Digital Rights, told EUobserver.States have for some time now backed a model where the music industry goes to the ISP and says Look, we can save you a lot of money trying to avoid an injunction if on a voluntary basis, you just block this and this and this. It turns into a relationship just between the rights holders and the ISP without ever going to court.If the court had ruled the other way, the responsibility to enforce intellectual property rights would have largely been delegated to internet companies, a development that would have encouraged ISPs across Europe to permanently surveille their networks with filtering.The EU has also been attempting to export this very law-enforcement privatisation model to other countries - McNamee argued - via the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (Acta), a global anti-piracy treaty that aims to set up a global intellectual property framework with its own governing body akin to the World Trade Organisation.Acta, criticised for being negotiated largely in secret, has long been the bete noire of online civil liberties advocates.The ruling really places questions over the legality of Acta. The EU will have to completely rethink their approach or at least be a lot more subtle, he continued. It they try to enforce injunctions outside Europe, it means that they are trying to push a model that has been struck down inside Europe, which opens them up to legal challenges.ISPs for their part, who have resisted such injunctions due to the significant cost of installing filtering systems, also cheered the result.

American people are beginning to notice that the green energy is not so green after all, it is awash in red ink. Green jobs were being promised all over Europe when Spanish voters swept into power the Socialist party in 2004. More entitlements and withdrawal from the war in the Middle East were the icing on the cake. The Socialists presided initially over a period of sustained economic growth. Today Spain has 5 million unemployed, a huge public debt, and the indignados (the indignants) who are a small and disruptive minoritarios.Mariano Rajoy, the leader of the conservative Popular Party won the prime minister post in a landslide victory last Sunday. The voters spoke loud and clear against the Socialists’ lavish spending and mismanagement of the Spanish economy.Interestingly, Europeans keep voting for right of center parties, but the spending spree and the green economy march on. According to Daniel Hannan, only three per cent of European Union nationals have leftist governments (Austria, Denmark, Cyprus and Slovenia). Yet spending continues to rise (except on defense), bureaucracies continue to grow, powers continue to shift from national capitals to Brussels. No matter how Europeans vote, as long as Brussels dictates the laws and Germany runs the economic policy, the green oligarchy rules.On the home front, the bankrupt solar panel manufacturer Solyndra’s employees are now qualifying for trade adjustment assistance. After blowing $528 million dollars in taxpayer support, Solyndra’s 1,100 laid off workers will receive $13,000 each in federal aid packages, including job retraining and income assistance.
Since President Obama extolled the virtues of clean solar energy, why is it that Solyndra could not make a profit in such a hot market? Was this just crony capitalism or a photo opportunity for the White House to waste more taxpayer money?
Trade adjustment assistance was intended to ease the burden on the victims of free trade, to provide special unemployment benefits, loans, retraining programs, and other aid to workers and firms that were harmed by foreign competition after they’ve been in business for a while. Solyndra was hardly in business long enough to prove that it could not compete against the Chinese who were making solar panels quite cheaply. The information was already available that the Chinese were making solar panels for $1 or less each. Now the taxpayers have to cough up another $14.3 million in federal aid as a direct result of the bankruptcy. If the workers were highly skilled as the Department of Energy documents show, why do they need retraining?
President Obama gave Solyndra $535 million in loan guarantees in 2009 as part of his program for green jobs and sang its praises at the Freemont, Ca plant. The company burned cash so quickly, that the Department of Energy had to restructure the original defaulted loan in order to help Solyndra survive. During renegotiations of the loan, private investors were placed ahead in line to receive the first $75 million recovered in the event of liquidation, clearly in violation of DOE loan rules.Energy Secretary Steven Chu and the DOE have approved in September a $737 million loan guarantee to Tonopah Solar Energy for a 110-megawatt solar tower on federal land near Tonopah, Nevada, and a $337 million guarantee for Mesquite Solar 1 to develop a 150-megawatt solar plant near Phoenix, both under the same program as Solyndra.If Americans have spoken loud and clear that they want drilling for oil here in order to ease the dependence on the Middle East importation, why are we still pursuing expensive solar and wind energy that cannot even begin to replace the energy currently produced by fossil fuels that our huge economy needs? Why are we not building nuclear power plants? Why did President Obama stop the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada that would have delivered crude all the way to Texas? Why does he want to bankrupt the coal industry?
The similarity to the European Union situation is eerie. No matter what the majority of American voters want and no matter how they cast their ballots, the ruling power elite ignore them.Another sector of Obama’s green economy is in financial trouble, the renewable electricity grid. Among smart grid companies that have received taxpayer loans is Beacon Power that manufactures flywheel energy storage technology.
Beacon received $43 million loan guarantees from the same stimulus-funded program that financed Solyndra. Beacon filed for bankruptcy in October 2011 and announced in November 2011 that it will likely liquidate its assets instead of restructuring, meaning that the government may not recoup the $43 million through bankruptcy proceedings.Ener1 received more than $120 million in federal grants. It was delisted last week by NASDAQ for failure to comply with SEC filing requirements after suffering heavy losses and firing its top executives. Other green energy sectors may follow.The Smart Meter lawsuit in California will put in jeopardy the manufacturers of such meters if the judge rules that all litigants must have their Smart Meters replaced with traditional meters. This administration has already spent hundreds of millions of dollars for the deployment of Smart Meters across the country and especially in California.A class action lawsuit in California has brought the following issues in front of the Administrative Judge Amy C. The science, we were told some years ago is settled. But now, it appears, we are not so sure anymore.In 2007, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warned the world that a climate catastrophe was just around the corner, if we didn’t curtail carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The IPCC was awarded a Nobel peace prize for that work. Co-Nobel-laureate Al Gore has made millions from his book and (so-called) documentary film An Inconvenient Truth, prognosticating doom and gloom.
Never mind that CO2 is vital to all life on earth.Never mind that CO2 is vital to all life on earth. Never mind that a British High Court found Al Gore’s movie full of sentimental mush. Never mind that the Climategate emails showed (possibly criminal) collusion and obfuscation by some of the independent scientists who are creating computer models used in IPCC reports. Never mind that temperature records for the last decade or so showed a global cooling trend, not warming. Never mind, that the low-lying islands in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, which were all supposed to be drowning from rising seas and their people fleeing for their lives, actually have been growing in population ever since. Never mind that that the Arctic sea ice is still there (at -40 F/C, you would not expect it to be different). Never mind that the polar bears and the seals are still thriving in the Arctic. Never mind that the penguins are doing fine in Antarctica. Never mind that the Himalayan glaciers have not melted away. Never mind that global CO2 emissions, as estimated by the U.S. Department of Energy (Nov. 2011) rose by 6% from 2009 to 2010, and the global temperature did not budge.
The latest IPCC revelations
And now to the latest IPCC revelations. In its Summary for Policymakers of the Special Report on Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation (SREX), released on 18 Nov. 2011, it says in chapter D, on Future Climate Extremes :Projected changes in climate extremes under different emissions scenarios generally do not strongly diverge in the coming two to three decades, but these signals are relatively small compared to natural climate variability over this time frame. Even the sign of projected changes in some climate extremes over this time frame is uncertain. In other words, for the next decades, the world’s climate could be getting warmer, or colder, or may not change at all. That revelation, most certainly, is different from the imminent climate-disaster predictions offered in the past. Could it just be that the IPCC is beginning to see the light? The human (supposedly CO2-induced) effects on the climate are relatively small compared to natural climate variability.Climate determined by nature? What a novel idea! Despite the IPCC’s newly found uncertainty in their climate modeling, the report goes into great detail on the effects (including social effects) of so-called climate extremes.
Now, what exactly is meant by the term climate extreme? Well, the IPCC offers the following definition: Climate Extreme (extreme weather or climate event): The occurrence of a value of a weather or climate variable above (or below) a threshold value near the upper (or lower) ends of the range of observed values of the variable.
You may have noticed the introduction of a new term there, namely threshold.So, the question then becomes, what is a climate threshold or climate variable threshold ? Neither the text nor the accompanying graphs on climate extremes provide an explanation. In other words, it’s just more obfuscation than explanation. In common parlance, a threshold is a physical boundary, something you can bump against.There is no such boundary in the climate.

BRUSSELS - The EU has said it will sign up to extending the international treaty on climate change but has little hope that the US and China will follow suit.In a speech laying out the EU's position ahead of international talks beginning in Durban next week, EU climate change chief Connie Hedegaard Thursday (24 November) said it is unlikely that Washington and Beijing will sign up to what the world needs but called on them to set out a clear roadmap.The first commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol, the only legally binding treaty to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, expires at the end of 2012.But countries are divided over whether to commit to a second phase - Russia, Japan and Canada have already indicated they will not do so - when big greenhouse gas emitters are not onboard.Hedegaard also underlined that the EU's promise to go to another phase has more symbolic rather than practical climate changing effect, with the EU only accounting for 11 percent of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions.However, she said the EU is unwilling to abandon the process as whether we like it or not, it is the only place where climate change is being discussed internationally.Underlining how climate change issues have slipped down the global agenda amid the economic crisis, Hedegaard suggested a new international deal could be in place a few years down the road, by 2020.

Negotiators from almost 200 countries will head to Durban for two weeks of UN talks beginning Monday but most experts are gloomy about the prospects of real progress at the event.One of the biggest political issues dogging environment negotiations is the split between richer and poorer countries. Developing nations argue that Western countries, who created the environmental problems in the first place, should not be trying to force a curb in the emissions of those countries playing industrial catch-up.Hedegaard, armed with figures from the UN showing China and South Africa fast approaching EU per capita CO2 emissions, suggested this is an artificial split that belongs to the last century.The Kyoto division between developed and developing countries no longer reflects the evolution of emissions. Today's rise in CO2 emissions is mainly driven by emerging economies using coal, she said.Arguing that the world is different to how it was in 1997 when the Kyoto agreement came into being, she said it was no longer valid to have a system where developed countries, accounting for less and less emissions, are obliged to hold to targets whereas emerging countries can do things voluntarily.Developing countries for their part argue that the volume of historic emissions by the west places the bulk of responsibility on them to fix the problem they created.Hedegaard said EU negotiators are going to Durban in order to secure continued progress but refused to speculate on what it would mean if even the asked for roadmap from the US and others fail to materalise by 9 December, the conference's end.
Anti-austerity general strike shuts down Portugal

BRUSSELS - Much of Portugal was paralysed on Thursday (24 November) as a general strike against EU-IMF austerity shut down most of the country’s transport networks and public services.Most flights in and out of the holiday destination country were cancelled, with airports in the capital, Faro and Porto particularly badly hit. Much of public transport ground to a halt as Lisbon’s metro service was shuttered and the main train operator said that it experienced heavy disruption.Workers at ports, municipal buildings and the post office had also struck, according to the CGTP union, while factories in many parts of the country were closed, hospitals provided only emergency services and rubbish collection was suspended.Demonstrations saw thousands of mostly young people descend on the streets of Lisbon, although, in a counterpoint to images seen from fellow EU-IMF bail-out nation Greece, the marches were largely peaceful apart from scuffles in front of the parliament building, where seven protesters were arrested and one policeman hospitalised.The action, the second general strike in the country since the crisis began, saw rebel officers who participated in the 1974 revolution join the protests as marchers chanted: Spain, Greece, Ireland, Portugal, our struggle is international, according to local reports.

Sadly, with the Obama regime we have in the White House, most of our fears all have the possibility of coming true. These days there is no tin helmet conspiracy but the horrifying truth we already know about this President. I believe it clear that Obama is ineligible to be in the office of President. Otherwise, why would he have shown the media and country a forgery of a long form birth certificate on April 27th? Even though this was verified by Doug Vogt, veteran document examiner and many others as a total forgery and fraud, the media and Republican establishment were silent. This is beyond shameful and absolutely treacherous.We also know Obama is a total narcissist and attention seeking hound who has sought from day one to build his tentacles of power outside of our Constitution, House and Senate. Thus, the historical amount of Czars appointed to high level, controlling positions that only answer to Obama and completely bypass congress. We also find ourselves in an illegal war in Libya, which completely bypassed congress. We saw Obama get his marching orders from the UN, then when confronted by some in the House and receiving a confrontational letter by Speaker Boehner, he had the audacity to say that our congress and country must submit first to the UN. They were allegedly above our sovereign authority as a country. This was a total breach of the 1973 war powers act.
Recently, I have heard from some who believe Occupy Wall street will be used by Obama to institute Martial law and stop the next election. You certainly don’t have to dig far to see the wink and the nod from Obama to this emerging mob and the organized and huge money funding these groups from George Soros to Van Jones. Remember that all crises can and must be used, per the Saul Alinsky, Rules for Radicals, play book. Also, one of the Constitutional and American walls thrown in Obama’s face has been the emergence and growth of Tea Party groups all across the country. I have spoken for several of these groups and write for the largest on line Tea Party group in America, www.teaparty.org. The Tea Party, unlike the endless sea of names they have been called by Obama and his minions, are focused, patriotic, love our Constitution and fiscal accountability. They are not Republican, Democrat, black or white, but solidly American. This is a card that Obama didn’t expect America to play so well when 100 million of us focused American power during the last Mid Term elections. We saw a stunning defeat for Obama and the progressive left, taking back the House and almost the Senate.
Isn’t it interesting now that media and Obama dare to compare the Occupy Wall Street group to the Tea Party. The real Tea party is passé and yesterday’s news we are told. Naturally, you realize that has to be the spin, since the Tea Party groups have steadily grown in power, funding and are not controlled by Political parties. They are the groups who meet and don’t litter, rape people, rob stores and destroy their environment. The dangers and conspiracies are real but how do we respond so that America will win? Resist the temptation to look at common sense, what could happen, what Obama might try and pull, the feared manipulation or canceling of the next election. Yes, we all know corruption is everywhere. Voter fraud will be at its highest and global elitism and progressive evil is everywhere. We all know we are in a constitutional and American emergency. US or Europe? Which Fiscal Time Bomb Will Explode First? Peter Schiff Euro Pacific Friday, November 25, 2011
With fiscal time bombs ticking in both Europe and the United States, the pertinent question for now seems to be which will explode first. For much of the past few months it looked as if Europe was set to blow.But Angela Merkel’s refusal to support a Federal Reserve style bailout of European sovereigns and her recent statement the she had no Hank Paulson style fiscal bazooka in her handbag, has lowered the heat. In contrast, the utter failure of the Congressional Super Committee in the United States to come up with any shred of success in addressing America’s fiscal problems has sparked a renewed realization that America’s fuse is dangerously short.Chancellor Merkel has been emphatic that European politicians not be given a monetary crutch similar to the one relied on by their American counterparts. Her laudable goal, much derided on the editorial pages of the New York Times, is to defuse Europe’s debt bomb with substantive budget reforms, and as a result to make the euro the strongest currency in the world. Much has been made of the poorly received auction today of German Government bonds, with some saying the lack of demand (which pushed yields on 10-year German Bonds past 2% –hardly indicative of panic selling) is evidence of investor unease with Merkel’s economic policies. I would argue the opposite: that many investors still think that Merkel is bluffing and that eventually Germany will print and stimulate like everyone else. It is likely for this reason that yields on German debt have increased modestly.
In contrast, the U.S. is crystal clear in its intention to ignore its debt problems. With the failure of the Super Committee this week it actually became official. American politicians will not, under any circumstances willingly confront our underlying debt crisis. While the outcome of the Super Committee shouldn’t have come as a great surprise, the sheer dysfunction displayed should serve as a wakeup call for those who still harbor any desperate illusions. Some members of Congress, such as John McCain, have even come out against the $1.2 trillion in automatic spending cuts that would go into effect in January 2013. Expect more politicians of both parties to cravenly follow suit.Over the next decade, the U.S. government expects to spend more than $40 trillion. Even if the $1.2 trillion in automatic cuts are allowed to go through, the amount totals just 3% of the expected outlays. In a masterstroke of hypocritical accounting, $216 billion of these proposed cuts merely represent the expected reductions in interest payments that would result from $984 billion of actual cuts. These cuts won’t make a noticeable dent in our projected deficits, which if history can be any guide, will likely rise by much more as economic reality proves far gloomier than government statisticians predict. Finally, the cuts are not cuts in the ordinary sense of the word, where spending is actually reduced. They are cuts in the baseline, which means spending merely increases less than what was previously budgeted.In the mean time, the prospect of sovereign default in Europe is driving safe haven demand for the dollar. So contrary to the political blame game, Europe’s problems are actually providing a temporary boost to America’s bubble economy. However, a resolution to the crisis in Europe could reverse those flows. And given the discipline emanating from Berlin, a real solution is not out of the question. If confidence can be restored there, each episodic flight to safety may be less focused on the U.S. dollar. Instead, risk-averse investors may prefer a basket of other, higher-yielding, more fiscally sustainable currencies.The irony is that Europe is actually being criticized for its failure to follow America’s lead. This misplaced criticism is based on the mistaken belief that our approach worked. It did not. Sure, it may have delayed the explosion, but only by assuring a much larger one in the future. In the mean time, many have mistaken the delay for success.
However, if Merkel’s hard line works, and real cuts follow, Europe will be praised for blazing a different trail. As a result the euro could rally and the dollar sink. Commodity prices will rise, putting even more upward pressure on consumer prices and interest rates in the United States.Any significant reversal of the current upward dollar trend could provide a long awaited catalyst for nations holding large dollar reserves to diversify into other currencies. My guess is that Merkel understands the great advantage the U.S. has enjoyed as the issuer of the world’s reserve currency. I believe she covets that prize for Europe, and based on her strategy, it is clearly within her reach.There is an old saving that one often does not appreciate what one has until it’s lost. The nearly criminal foolishness now on display in Washington may finally force the rest of the world to cancel our reserve currency privileges. The loss may give Americans a profound appreciation of this concept.

Aside from representing a show of strength to discourage NATO powers from launching a military attack, on board were Russian technical experts ready to help Damascus set up a sophisticated missile defense system sold to them by Moscow.Russian warships that have reached waters off Syria in recent days were carrying, among other things, Russian technical advisors who will help the Syrians set up an array of S-300 missiles Damascus has received in recent weeks, a report in the London-based Arabic language Al Quds-Al Arabi said Thursday. Citing sources in Syria and Russia, the paper said that Moscow sees a Western attack on Syria as a red line that it will not tolerate, reports Arutz Sheva.
The S-300 missiles, which according to the report will be used to deflect a possible attack by NATO or the U.S. and EU, are long range surface-to-air missiles developed by Russia in 1979 for the purpose of protecting large industrial and military bases from enemy attack aircraft and cruise missiles.The system is widely regarded as one of the most powerful anti-aircraft arrays in modern warfare, having the ability to track up to 100 targets and engage 12 at any one time. Russia recently tried to sell the same system to Iran but the transaction was halted after pressure from the U.S. and Israel.Arming Syria with such a proficient means of aerial defense would obviously not bode well for any prospective no fly zone being planned by western powers. Reports have been circulating this week that fighter jets from Turkey and other Arab states would soon enter Syrian airspace under humanitarian pretenses with logistical aid from the United States.Along with the missiles, the report says that Russia has installed advanced radar systems in all key Syrian military and industrial installations. The radar system also covers areas north and south of Syria, where it will be able to detect movement of troops or aircraft towards the Syrian border. The radar targets include much of Israel, as well as the Incirlik military base in Turkey, which is used by NATO,states the report.French foreign minister Alain Juppé yesterday assured Syrian opposition forces that NATO powers are planning to launch a military intervention by imposing humanitarian corridors or humanitarian zones in the name of protecting civilians from the alleged abuses of the al-Assad regime.The prospect of air strikes being launched under a humanitarian banner are seen as increasingly likely given the fact that the aircraft carrier George H.W. Bush has been moved to the Syrian coast in recent days having left its traditional theater of operations just off the Straits of Hormuz.
Tensions also escalated yesterday after the U.S. Embassy in Damascus urged its citizens to leave Syria immediately, while Turkey’s foreign ministry told its citizens to avoid traveling through the country on their return home from Saudi Arabia.As we have previously noted, attacking Syria could merely be an entrée for an assault on Iran because Tehran has promised to defend its ally.

It pretty much fatally wounds the very strong effort on the part of governments to privatise law enforcement, Joe McNamee, the director of European Digital Rights, told EUobserver.States have for some time now backed a model where the music industry goes to the ISP and says Look, we can save you a lot of money trying to avoid an injunction if on a voluntary basis, you just block this and this and this. It turns into a relationship just between the rights holders and the ISP without ever going to court.If the court had ruled the other way, the responsibility to enforce intellectual property rights would have largely been delegated to internet companies, a development that would have encouraged ISPs across Europe to permanently surveille their networks with filtering.The EU has also been attempting to export this very law-enforcement privatisation model to other countries - McNamee argued - via the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (Acta), a global anti-piracy treaty that aims to set up a global intellectual property framework with its own governing body akin to the World Trade Organisation.Acta, criticised for being negotiated largely in secret, has long been the bete noire of online civil liberties advocates.The ruling really places questions over the legality of Acta. The EU will have to completely rethink their approach or at least be a lot more subtle, he continued. It they try to enforce injunctions outside Europe, it means that they are trying to push a model that has been struck down inside Europe, which opens them up to legal challenges.ISPs for their part, who have resisted such injunctions due to the significant cost of installing filtering systems, also cheered the result.

American people are beginning to notice that the green energy is not so green after all, it is awash in red ink. Green jobs were being promised all over Europe when Spanish voters swept into power the Socialist party in 2004. More entitlements and withdrawal from the war in the Middle East were the icing on the cake. The Socialists presided initially over a period of sustained economic growth. Today Spain has 5 million unemployed, a huge public debt, and the indignados (the indignants) who are a small and disruptive minoritarios.Mariano Rajoy, the leader of the conservative Popular Party won the prime minister post in a landslide victory last Sunday. The voters spoke loud and clear against the Socialists’ lavish spending and mismanagement of the Spanish economy.Interestingly, Europeans keep voting for right of center parties, but the spending spree and the green economy march on. According to Daniel Hannan, only three per cent of European Union nationals have leftist governments (Austria, Denmark, Cyprus and Slovenia). Yet spending continues to rise (except on defense), bureaucracies continue to grow, powers continue to shift from national capitals to Brussels. No matter how Europeans vote, as long as Brussels dictates the laws and Germany runs the economic policy, the green oligarchy rules.On the home front, the bankrupt solar panel manufacturer Solyndra’s employees are now qualifying for trade adjustment assistance. After blowing $528 million dollars in taxpayer support, Solyndra’s 1,100 laid off workers will receive $13,000 each in federal aid packages, including job retraining and income assistance.
Since President Obama extolled the virtues of clean solar energy, why is it that Solyndra could not make a profit in such a hot market? Was this just crony capitalism or a photo opportunity for the White House to waste more taxpayer money?
Trade adjustment assistance was intended to ease the burden on the victims of free trade, to provide special unemployment benefits, loans, retraining programs, and other aid to workers and firms that were harmed by foreign competition after they’ve been in business for a while. Solyndra was hardly in business long enough to prove that it could not compete against the Chinese who were making solar panels quite cheaply. The information was already available that the Chinese were making solar panels for $1 or less each. Now the taxpayers have to cough up another $14.3 million in federal aid as a direct result of the bankruptcy. If the workers were highly skilled as the Department of Energy documents show, why do they need retraining?
President Obama gave Solyndra $535 million in loan guarantees in 2009 as part of his program for green jobs and sang its praises at the Freemont, Ca plant. The company burned cash so quickly, that the Department of Energy had to restructure the original defaulted loan in order to help Solyndra survive. During renegotiations of the loan, private investors were placed ahead in line to receive the first $75 million recovered in the event of liquidation, clearly in violation of DOE loan rules.Energy Secretary Steven Chu and the DOE have approved in September a $737 million loan guarantee to Tonopah Solar Energy for a 110-megawatt solar tower on federal land near Tonopah, Nevada, and a $337 million guarantee for Mesquite Solar 1 to develop a 150-megawatt solar plant near Phoenix, both under the same program as Solyndra.If Americans have spoken loud and clear that they want drilling for oil here in order to ease the dependence on the Middle East importation, why are we still pursuing expensive solar and wind energy that cannot even begin to replace the energy currently produced by fossil fuels that our huge economy needs? Why are we not building nuclear power plants? Why did President Obama stop the Keystone XL pipeline from Canada that would have delivered crude all the way to Texas? Why does he want to bankrupt the coal industry?
The similarity to the European Union situation is eerie. No matter what the majority of American voters want and no matter how they cast their ballots, the ruling power elite ignore them.Another sector of Obama’s green economy is in financial trouble, the renewable electricity grid. Among smart grid companies that have received taxpayer loans is Beacon Power that manufactures flywheel energy storage technology.
Beacon received $43 million loan guarantees from the same stimulus-funded program that financed Solyndra. Beacon filed for bankruptcy in October 2011 and announced in November 2011 that it will likely liquidate its assets instead of restructuring, meaning that the government may not recoup the $43 million through bankruptcy proceedings.Ener1 received more than $120 million in federal grants. It was delisted last week by NASDAQ for failure to comply with SEC filing requirements after suffering heavy losses and firing its top executives. Other green energy sectors may follow.The Smart Meter lawsuit in California will put in jeopardy the manufacturers of such meters if the judge rules that all litigants must have their Smart Meters replaced with traditional meters. This administration has already spent hundreds of millions of dollars for the deployment of Smart Meters across the country and especially in California.A class action lawsuit in California has brought the following issues in front of the Administrative Judge Amy C. The science, we were told some years ago is settled. But now, it appears, we are not so sure anymore.In 2007, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) warned the world that a climate catastrophe was just around the corner, if we didn’t curtail carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. The IPCC was awarded a Nobel peace prize for that work. Co-Nobel-laureate Al Gore has made millions from his book and (so-called) documentary film An Inconvenient Truth, prognosticating doom and gloom.
Never mind that CO2 is vital to all life on earth.Never mind that CO2 is vital to all life on earth. Never mind that a British High Court found Al Gore’s movie full of sentimental mush. Never mind that the Climategate emails showed (possibly criminal) collusion and obfuscation by some of the independent scientists who are creating computer models used in IPCC reports. Never mind that temperature records for the last decade or so showed a global cooling trend, not warming. Never mind, that the low-lying islands in the Pacific and Indian Oceans, which were all supposed to be drowning from rising seas and their people fleeing for their lives, actually have been growing in population ever since. Never mind that that the Arctic sea ice is still there (at -40 F/C, you would not expect it to be different). Never mind that the polar bears and the seals are still thriving in the Arctic. Never mind that the penguins are doing fine in Antarctica. Never mind that the Himalayan glaciers have not melted away. Never mind that global CO2 emissions, as estimated by the U.S. Department of Energy (Nov. 2011) rose by 6% from 2009 to 2010, and the global temperature did not budge.
The latest IPCC revelations
And now to the latest IPCC revelations. In its Summary for Policymakers of the Special Report on Managing the Risks of Extreme Events and Disasters to Advance Climate Change Adaptation (SREX), released on 18 Nov. 2011, it says in chapter D, on Future Climate Extremes :Projected changes in climate extremes under different emissions scenarios generally do not strongly diverge in the coming two to three decades, but these signals are relatively small compared to natural climate variability over this time frame. Even the sign of projected changes in some climate extremes over this time frame is uncertain. In other words, for the next decades, the world’s climate could be getting warmer, or colder, or may not change at all. That revelation, most certainly, is different from the imminent climate-disaster predictions offered in the past. Could it just be that the IPCC is beginning to see the light? The human (supposedly CO2-induced) effects on the climate are relatively small compared to natural climate variability.Climate determined by nature? What a novel idea! Despite the IPCC’s newly found uncertainty in their climate modeling, the report goes into great detail on the effects (including social effects) of so-called climate extremes.
Now, what exactly is meant by the term climate extreme? Well, the IPCC offers the following definition: Climate Extreme (extreme weather or climate event): The occurrence of a value of a weather or climate variable above (or below) a threshold value near the upper (or lower) ends of the range of observed values of the variable.
You may have noticed the introduction of a new term there, namely threshold.So, the question then becomes, what is a climate threshold or climate variable threshold ? Neither the text nor the accompanying graphs on climate extremes provide an explanation. In other words, it’s just more obfuscation than explanation. In common parlance, a threshold is a physical boundary, something you can bump against.There is no such boundary in the climate.

BRUSSELS - The EU has said it will sign up to extending the international treaty on climate change but has little hope that the US and China will follow suit.In a speech laying out the EU's position ahead of international talks beginning in Durban next week, EU climate change chief Connie Hedegaard Thursday (24 November) said it is unlikely that Washington and Beijing will sign up to what the world needs but called on them to set out a clear roadmap.The first commitment period of the Kyoto Protocol, the only legally binding treaty to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, expires at the end of 2012.But countries are divided over whether to commit to a second phase - Russia, Japan and Canada have already indicated they will not do so - when big greenhouse gas emitters are not onboard.Hedegaard also underlined that the EU's promise to go to another phase has more symbolic rather than practical climate changing effect, with the EU only accounting for 11 percent of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions.However, she said the EU is unwilling to abandon the process as whether we like it or not, it is the only place where climate change is being discussed internationally.Underlining how climate change issues have slipped down the global agenda amid the economic crisis, Hedegaard suggested a new international deal could be in place a few years down the road, by 2020.

Negotiators from almost 200 countries will head to Durban for two weeks of UN talks beginning Monday but most experts are gloomy about the prospects of real progress at the event.One of the biggest political issues dogging environment negotiations is the split between richer and poorer countries. Developing nations argue that Western countries, who created the environmental problems in the first place, should not be trying to force a curb in the emissions of those countries playing industrial catch-up.Hedegaard, armed with figures from the UN showing China and South Africa fast approaching EU per capita CO2 emissions, suggested this is an artificial split that belongs to the last century.The Kyoto division between developed and developing countries no longer reflects the evolution of emissions. Today's rise in CO2 emissions is mainly driven by emerging economies using coal, she said.Arguing that the world is different to how it was in 1997 when the Kyoto agreement came into being, she said it was no longer valid to have a system where developed countries, accounting for less and less emissions, are obliged to hold to targets whereas emerging countries can do things voluntarily.Developing countries for their part argue that the volume of historic emissions by the west places the bulk of responsibility on them to fix the problem they created.Hedegaard said EU negotiators are going to Durban in order to secure continued progress but refused to speculate on what it would mean if even the asked for roadmap from the US and others fail to materalise by 9 December, the conference's end.
Anti-austerity general strike shuts down Portugal

BRUSSELS - Much of Portugal was paralysed on Thursday (24 November) as a general strike against EU-IMF austerity shut down most of the country’s transport networks and public services.Most flights in and out of the holiday destination country were cancelled, with airports in the capital, Faro and Porto particularly badly hit. Much of public transport ground to a halt as Lisbon’s metro service was shuttered and the main train operator said that it experienced heavy disruption.Workers at ports, municipal buildings and the post office had also struck, according to the CGTP union, while factories in many parts of the country were closed, hospitals provided only emergency services and rubbish collection was suspended.Demonstrations saw thousands of mostly young people descend on the streets of Lisbon, although, in a counterpoint to images seen from fellow EU-IMF bail-out nation Greece, the marches were largely peaceful apart from scuffles in front of the parliament building, where seven protesters were arrested and one policeman hospitalised.The action, the second general strike in the country since the crisis began, saw rebel officers who participated in the 1974 revolution join the protests as marchers chanted: Spain, Greece, Ireland, Portugal, our struggle is international, according to local reports.
The government was eager to downplay attendance numbers, saying that only 11 percent of public workers participated in the strike, but union leaders have insisted it was one of the biggest in the country's history, drawing a larger crowd than in last year's strike, when an estimated 3 million people took place.It was a strike with a very strong signal against the impoverishment of the country, said Carvalho da Silva, leader of CGTP, Portugal’s largest trade union, at an evening press conference.There is a real sense of outrage, he added.The industrial action took place as ratings agency Fitch decided to lower the country’s rating to junk status, from BBB- to BB+, amid a worsened European outlook.The country's large fiscal imbalances, high indebtedness across all sectors, and adverse macroeconomic outlook mean the sovereign's credit profile is no longer consistent with an investment-grade rating, the agency said.Unions mounted the strike on the eve of debates in the parliament on Friday on the proposed budget for 2012, which includes tax hikes and spending cuts to comply with bail-out demands from the EU and the International Monetary Fund. Italy sides with Germany against eurobonds

BRUSSELS - At Italy's first invitation for an audience before the Franco-German duo that powers European decision-making, Prime Minister Mario Monti made it clear that he backs the German position on eurobonds.Meanwhile, little advanced at the meeting of the EU triumvirate, with Germany refusing to discuss whether the European Central Bank (ECB) should intervene more robustly to defend the eurozone.The commission made a lot of proposals yesterday about budget discipline and we largely agree on that, Monti told reporters in Strasbourg after meeting with French leader Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, explaining that such a move chips away at policy competition between states.I just think that eurobonds, or stability bonds, whatever you want to call them, produce a leveling of the different competitive situations which are expressed via interest rates, which gives the wrong signal, as different interest rates are an indication of where work still needs to be done.
Merkel and Sarkozy have frequently met since the crisis separately from other EU members only to emerge hours later to present their vision for steps that should be taken.It was the first time an Italian leader had been welcomed into the Franco-German tent, although little emerged on Thursday apart from an announcement from Sarkozy that Paris and Berlin will propose their own modifications to the EU treaties.We are working on proposals [for changes] which have advanced a great deal, he said. The proposals are to be presented to the rest of the bloc at its winter summit on 9 December.Hopes on France's part that the meeting would resolve the core dispute between Paris and Berlin, the role of the European Central Bank in the crisis, were unfulfilled.The three instead put out a boilerplate statement of their continued support for the bank's independence.We all stated our confidence in the European Central Bank and its leaders and stated that in respect of the independence of this essential institution we must refrain from making positive or negative demands of it, the French president said.Germany has a history, a tradition and a culture. The same day, French foreign minister Alain Juppe had said the ECB must become the lender of last resort.It's urgent. It will be discussed this very day in Strasbourg, he said on France Inter radio.For his part, eurosceptic Czech President Vaclav Klaus in a new book on EU integration which he aims to publish in all the main EU languages, has lampooned the Merkel-Sarkozy duo.

The concerns, fears and conspiracies about the 2012 election are exploding far and wide. I hear about it everyday from my listeners on my radio show and readers. Sadly, with the Obama regime we have in the White House, most of our fears all have the possibility of coming true. These days there is no tin helmet conspiracy but the horrifying truth we already know about this President. I believe it clear that Obama is ineligible to be in the office of President. Otherwise, why would he have shown the media and country a forgery of a long form birth certificate on April 27th? Even though this was verified by Doug Vogt, veteran document examiner and many others as a total forgery and fraud, the media and Republican establishment were silent. This is beyond shameful and absolutely treacherous.We also know Obama is a total narcissist and attention seeking hound who has sought from day one to build his tentacles of power outside of our Constitution, House and Senate. Thus, the historical amount of Czars appointed to high level, controlling positions that only answer to Obama and completely bypass congress. We also find ourselves in an illegal war in Libya, which completely bypassed congress. We saw Obama get his marching orders from the UN, then when confronted by some in the House and receiving a confrontational letter by Speaker Boehner, he had the audacity to say that our congress and country must submit first to the UN. They were allegedly above our sovereign authority as a country. This was a total breach of the 1973 war powers act.
Recently, I have heard from some who believe Occupy Wall street will be used by Obama to institute Martial law and stop the next election. You certainly don’t have to dig far to see the wink and the nod from Obama to this emerging mob and the organized and huge money funding these groups from George Soros to Van Jones. Remember that all crises can and must be used, per the Saul Alinsky, Rules for Radicals, play book. Also, one of the Constitutional and American walls thrown in Obama’s face has been the emergence and growth of Tea Party groups all across the country. I have spoken for several of these groups and write for the largest on line Tea Party group in America, www.teaparty.org. The Tea Party, unlike the endless sea of names they have been called by Obama and his minions, are focused, patriotic, love our Constitution and fiscal accountability. They are not Republican, Democrat, black or white, but solidly American. This is a card that Obama didn’t expect America to play so well when 100 million of us focused American power during the last Mid Term elections. We saw a stunning defeat for Obama and the progressive left, taking back the House and almost the Senate.
Isn’t it interesting now that media and Obama dare to compare the Occupy Wall Street group to the Tea Party. The real Tea party is passé and yesterday’s news we are told. Naturally, you realize that has to be the spin, since the Tea Party groups have steadily grown in power, funding and are not controlled by Political parties. They are the groups who meet and don’t litter, rape people, rob stores and destroy their environment. The dangers and conspiracies are real but how do we respond so that America will win?
