MUSLIM NATIONS

EZEKIEL 38:1-12
1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
2 Son of man, set thy face against Gog,(RULER) the land of Magog,(RUSSIA) the chief prince of Meshech(MOSCOW)and Tubal,(TOBOLSK) and prophesy against him,
3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech(MOSCOW) and Tubal:
4 And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws,(GOD FORCES THE RUSSIA-MUSLIMS TO MARCH) and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:
5 Persia,(IRAN,IRAQ) Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:
6 Gomer,(GERMANY) and all his bands; the house of Togarmah (TURKEY)of the north quarters, and all his bands:(SUDAN,AFRICA) and many people with thee.
7 Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.
8 After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.
9 Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.(RUSSIA-EGYPT AND MUSLIMS)
10 Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought:
11 And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates,
12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places that are now inhabited, and upon the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.

ISAIAH 17:1
1 The burden of Damascus. Behold, Damascus is taken away from being a city, and it shall be a ruinous heap.

PSALMS 83:3-7
3 They (ARABS,MUSLIMS) have taken crafty counsel against thy people,(ISRAEL) and consulted against thy hidden ones.
4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5 For they (MUSLIMS) have consulted together with one consent: they are confederate against thee:(TREATIES)
6 The tabernacles of Edom,(JORDAN) and the Ishmaelites;(ARABS) of Moab, PALESTINIANS,JORDAN) and the Hagarenes;(EGYPT)
7 Gebal,(HEZZBALLOH,LEBANON) and Ammon,(JORDAN) and Amalek;(SYRIA,ARABS,SINAI) the Philistines (PALESTINIANS) with the inhabitants of Tyre;(LEBANON)

DANIEL 11:40-43
40 And at the time of the end shall the king of the south( EGYPT) push at him:(EU DICTATOR IN ISRAEL) and the king of the north (RUSSIA AND MUSLIM HORDES OF EZEK 38+39) shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall overflow and pass over.
41 He shall enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the children of Ammon.(JORDAN)
42 He shall stretch forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
43 But he shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his steps.

EZEKIEL 39:1-8
1 Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog,(LEADER OF RUSSIA) and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech (MOSCOW) and Tubal: (TUBOLSK)
2 And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts,(RUSSIA) and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:
3 And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.
4 Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands,( ARABS) and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.
5 Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.
6 And I will send a fire on Magog,(NUCLEAR BOMB) and among them that dwell carelessly in the isles: and they shall know that I am the LORD.
7 So will I make my holy name known in the midst of my people Israel; and I will not let them pollute my holy name any more: and the heathen shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.
8 Behold, it is come, and it is done, saith the Lord GOD; this is the day whereof I have spoken.

JOEL 2:3,20,30-31
3 A fire(NUCLEAR BOMB) devoureth before them;(RUSSIA-ARABS) and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.
20 But I will remove far off from you the northern army,(RUSSIA,MUSLIMS) and will drive him into a land barren and desolate, with his face toward the east sea, and his hinder part toward the utmost sea, and his stink shall come up, and his ill savour shall come up, because he hath done great things.(SIBERIAN DESERT)
30 And I will shew wonders in the heavens and in the earth, blood, and fire, and pillars of smoke.(NUCLEAR BOMB)
31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the terrible day of the LORD come.

Ahmadinejad: We’re Not Afraid of Israel or the US
by Elad Benari AUG 23,10

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad continued his attacks against Israel and the US on Sunday. In an interview he gave to the Al-Jazeera network, Ahmadinejad said that Israel is too weak to attack Iran's nuclear facilities, and added that Israel did not have the courage to do it... and I do not think its threat is serious. He also said that his country would act decisively against anyone who attempts a military strike against it. The interview was given in Farsi and translated to Arabic. Ahmadinejad also dismissed the possibility of a US strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, saying that America is not interested in sparking a military confrontation. There are no logical reasons for the United States to carry out such an act. Do you believe an army that has been defeated by a small army in Iraq can enter into a war with a large and well trained army like the Iranian army? hmadinejad offered the US his country’s friendship, saying that the friendship of Iran is much better than its hostility.Earlier on Sunday, Iran announced the launching of a new unmanned jet bomber dubbed an ambassador of death to Israel and other enemies. The jet, as well as being an ambassador of death for the enemies of humanity, has a main message of peace and friendship, Ahmadinejad told Iranian officials during the announcement. He added that the aircraft will help keep the enemy paralyzed in its bases…until the enemies of humanity lose hope of ever attacking the Iranian nation. On Saturday, the Bushehr nuclear plant became operational and is supposed to produce electricity from the uranium being supplied by Russia. The Bushehr fuel is enriched to approximately 3.5%, while weapons-grade fuel is enriched to over 90%.

While Israel did not comment on the opening of the Bushehr plant, Gary Samore, President Obama’s top adviser on nuclear issues, was quoted in the New York Times on Friday as saying that “we think that they have roughly a year dash time,” referring to the minimum amount of time it would take to convert the fuel to weapons-grade uranium. The report in the Times said that the US and Israel would be able to detect within weeks of when this process began and have a considerable amount of time to still consider military strikes.(IsraelNationalNews.com)

Arabs Attack Jew in Jerusalem
by Elad Benari AUG 23,10

Dozens of Arabs attacked a Jew on Motzei Shabbat at Kever Shmuel HaNavi (the Tomb of Samuel the Prophet), which is situated on the north-western outskirts of Jerusalem. The site is located just a few minutes from Jerusalem’s Ramot Aleph through Vav neighborhoods and is home to a Kollel (a school for studying of the Talmud and rabbinic literature).Binyamin Friedman, who heads the Ne’eman Shmuel HaNavi association, told Arutz7 on Sunday that the attack occurred as a result of the Ramadan prayers and fasting, which are the cause of increased tensions in the tombstone site, which is common to all three religions.Friedman noted that Kever Shmuel HaNavi is generally a safe area and that Saturday night’s incident is very unusual. A large Jewish presence in the area will prevent such incidents from occurring in the future,he said.Kever Shmuel HaNavi is considered one of the holiest places in Israel. It is a long-standing Jewish practice to pray and study at the site, and especially on the 28th day of Iyar, the anniversary of the Prophet Samuel's death.

Samuel is one of the Jewish people's greatest prophets. He was the prophet who anointed King Saul as Israel’s first king, and subsequently also anointed King David, the founder of Jewish Jerusalem. Samuel wrote the biblical books of Judges, Samuel, and the Scroll of Ruth which is traditionally read aloud on Shavuot. The site of his tomb is considered to be a place in which relative quiet is kept between Jews and Muslims.Archaeological excavations on the site of Samuel’s Tomb have found remnants dating back as far as the period of the First Temple. The Crusaders called the place Mount Joy, since it was the first point on the route of pilgrims from which Jerusalem could be seen. During the period of the reign of the Mamluks, Jews purchased the site and built in it a synagogue. Arabs later took over the area and turned it into a mosque.(IsraelNationalNews.com)

NY mosque imam: Attention from project is positive
Sun Aug 22, 3:11 pm ET

MANAMA, Bahrain – The imam spearheading plans for an Islamic center near ground zero said Sunday the attention generated by the project is positive and he hopes it will bring greater understanding.Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf's plans for an Islamic cultural center about two blocks from the World Trade Center site have sparked a political firestorm in the United States. Foes of the project say it is insensitive and disrespectful to the victims of 9/11 and their families. The debate has become politicized ahead of November's midterm congressional elections. But Rauf, who is on the first leg of a 15-day Mideast tour funded by the U.S. State Department, took heart from the dispute, saying the fact we are getting this kind of attention is a sign of success. It is my hope that people will understand more, the imam told a gathering at the U.S. Ambassador's residence in the Persian Gulf state of Bahrain. He did not elaborate. The $100 million, 13-story project proposed by Rauf's Cordoba Initiative for the site some two blocks from ground zero is modeled after the YMCA and Jewish Community Center. It would include a mosque, a swimming pool, gym, auditorium and other facilities.Muslims have been holding prayer services since last year in the building that the new project will replace. The dispute over the proposal has sparked a national debate on religious freedom and American values and is becoming an issue on the campaign trail ahead of the midterm elections in the U.S.

President Barack Obama has said he believes Muslims have the right to build an Islamic center in New York as a matter of religious freedom, though he's also said he won't take a position on whether they should actually build it. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg came out in support of the mosque, calling it a test of the separation of church and state.Rauf is in the Middle East on a U.S.-sponsored trip as part of an outreach effort to hold a dialogue between the Muslim world and America. He will also visit Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. In an interview with Bahrain's Al Wasat newspaper, he said that America's sweeping constitutional rights are more in line with Islamic principles than the limits imposed by some Muslim nations.American Muslims have the right to practice their religion in accordance with the Constitution of the United States, Rauf said. I see the article of independence as more compliant with the principles of Islam than what is available in many of the current Muslim countries.A portion of the Al Wasat interview — to be published Monday — was seen Sunday by The Associated Press.

New York: Protests For and Against Ground Zero Mosque
by Elad Benari AUG 23,10

The planned Muslim center and mosque in New York’s Ground Zero continue to generate discussion. Two separate protests took place on the site Sunday, as parties both opposed and in favor of the planned mosque sounded their voices.According to local police, about 450 of those opposed and 250 supporters of the planned mosque were present. The New York Times reported that those opposed sang patriotic songs. They mentioned a hijacked Constitution, a renegade presidency and tolerance toward the sensitivities of New Yorkers whose relatives died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, said the report. The opponents of the mosque said that they fully support religious freedoms, but that the location of the planned Islamic center represented an incursion on the rights of Americans who deemed Ground Zero a hallowed space, said the Times. Kali Costas, a Long Island education worker, told the Times that having a mosque on this site is a smack in the face, while Dominick DeRubbio, whose uncle was a firefighter who died in the World Trade Center, said: I’m upset at how this whole thing was handled. The level of defiance is running high. They’re saying, We’re doing this whether you like it or not.Firefighter Tim Brown, who escaped the collapse of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, told the New York Daily News: It's very insensitive to the families. This is not about religious freedom. All we are saying is don't build this mosque here at Ground Zero on our cemetery.

Members of the group of supporters demonstrated two blocks away and said that tolerance should be directed toward members of different religions. They said they believed the protesters were propagating the type of hate speech spread by segregationists in the 1950s and 1960s. The Times reported that police were able to keep the two groups apart, apart from the occasional scuffle. The proposed mosque has generated much discussion over religious tolerance in the United States versus respect towards the victims of the deadly 9/11 attacks and their families. Last week, President Barack Obama expressed his strong support for the mosque. As a citizen, and as president, I believe that Muslims have the same right to practice their religion as anyone else in this country, said Obama. This is America, and our commitment to religious freedom must be unshakable. The principle that people of all faiths are welcome in this country, and will not be treated differently by their government, is essential to who we are. Also supporting the mosque is New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, whose speech on August 3 spoke of religious liberty. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, on the other hand, has expressed his opposition to the planned mosque on Ground Zero, and said the center and mosque should be moved to state-owned land farther from the Sept. 11 attack site.During an interview on NBC's Today Show last week, Giuliani said: If you are a healer, you do not go forward with this project. If you are a warrior, you do.A CNN poll conducted on August 11 found that 68 per cent of Americans oppose the Muslim center project in Ground Zero. Another poll was conducted by the Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, California, where visitors were asked last Wednesday: Is it appropriate to erect a Mosque and Islamic Community Center close to the 9/11 site? The results as of Friday, according to a reported by the Associated Press, is that 37 percent answered yes, while 62 percent said no.(IsraelNationalNews.com)

Rallies over mosque near ground zero get heated By VERENA DOBNIK, Associated Press Writer - AUG 22,10

NEW YORK – The proposed mosque near ground zero drew hundreds of fever-pitch demonstrators Sunday, with opponents carrying signs associating Islam with blood, supporters shouting, Say no to racist fear! and American flags waving on both sides.

The two leaders of the construction project, meanwhile, defended their plans, though one suggested that organizers might eventually be willing to discuss an alternative site. The other, Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf, said during a Middle East trip that the attention generated by the project is actually positive and that he hopes it will bring greater understanding.Around the corner from the cordoned-off old building that is to become a 13-story Islamic community center and mosque, police separated the two groups of demonstrators. There were no reports of physical clashes but there were some nose-to-nose confrontations, including a man and a woman screaming at each other across a barricade under a steady rain.Opponents of the $100 million project two blocks from the World Trade Center site appeared to outnumber supporters. Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA blared over loudspeakers as mosque opponents chanted, No mosque, no way! Signs hoisted by dozens of protesters standing behind police barricades read SHARIA — using dripping, blood-red letters to describe Islam's Shariah law, which governs the behavior of Muslims.

Steve Ayling, a 40-year-old Brooklyn plumber who carried his sign to a dry spot by an office building, said the people behind the mosque project are the same people who took down the twin towers.Opponents demand that the mosque be moved farther from the site where more than 2,700 people were killed on Sept. 11, 2001. They should put it in the Middle East, Ayling said.On a nearby sidewalk, police chased away a group that unfurled a banner with images of beating, stoning and other torture they said was committed by those who followed Islamic law.A mannequin wearing a keffiyeh, a traditional Arab headdress, was mounted on one of two mock missiles that were part of an anti-mosque installation. One missile was inscribed with the words: Again? Freedom Targeted by Religion; the other with Obama: With a middle name Hussein. We understand. Bloomberg: What is your excuse? New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has fiercely defended plans for the proposed mosque, saying that the right to practice your religion was one of the real reasons America was founded. The mosque project is being led by Rauf and his wife, Daisy Khan, who insist the center will promote moderate Islam. The dispute has sparked a national debate on religious freedom and American values and is becoming an issue on the campaign trail ahead of the midterm elections. Republicans have been critical of President Barack Obama's stance: He has said the Muslims have the right to build the center at the site but has not commented on whether he thinks they should.

Rauf is in the middle of a Mideast trip funded by the U.S. State Department that is intended to promote religious tolerance. He told a gathering Sunday at the U.S. ambassador's residence in the Persian Gulf state of Bahrain that he took heart from the dispute over the mosque, saying the fact we are getting this kind of attention is a sign of success. It is my hope that people will understand more, Rauf said without elaborating.Democratic New York Gov. David Paterson has suggested that state land farther from ground zero be used for the center. Khan, executive director of the American Society for Muslim Advancement, expressed some openness to that idea on ABC's This Week with Christiane Amanpour, but said she would have to meet with the center's other stakeholders first. We want to build bridges, Khan said. We don't want to create conflict, this is not where we were coming from. So, this is an opportunity for us to really turn this around and make this into something very, very positive. So we will meet, and we will do what is right for everyone. But Khan also said the angry reaction to the project is like a metastasized anti-Semitism.It's not even Islamophobia. It's beyond Islamophobia, she said. It's hate of Muslims. At the pro-mosque rally, staged a block away from opponents' demonstration, several hundred people chanted, Muslims are welcome here! We say no to racist fear! Dr. Ali Akram, a 39-year-old Brooklyn physician, came with his three sons and an 11-year-old nephew waving an American flag. He noted that scores of Muslims were among those who died in the towers, and he called those who oppose the mosque un-American.They teach their children about the freedom of religion in America — but they don't practice what they preach, Akram said. John Green, who lost a friend in the attacks, said that although organizers have the right to build the project, I think if they moved it, they would get the respect of more Americans than if they play hardball. He was demonstrating in the group of mosque opponents.

Gila Barzvi, whose son, Guy, was killed in the towers, stood with mosque opponents, clutching a large photo of her son with both hands. This is sacred ground and it's where my son was buried, the native Israeli from Queens said. She said the mosque would be like a knife in our hearts. She was joined by a close friend, Kobi Mor, who flew from San Francisco to participate in the rally. If the mosque gets built, we will bombard it, Mor said. He would not elaborate but added that he believes the project will never happen.Rauf, in an interview with Bahrain's Al Wasat newspaper, said America's sweeping constitutional rights are more in line with Islamic principles than the limits imposed by some Muslim nations. American Muslims have the right to practice their religion in accordance with the Constitution of the United States, Rauf said. I see the article of independence as more compliant with the principles of Islam than what is available in many of the current Muslim countries. A portion of the Al Wasat interview — to be published Monday — was seen Sunday by The Associated Press.

11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,

NUCLEAR WEAPONS WILL BE USED.

17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.

9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.

ISAIAH 24:17-23 KJV
17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.
18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.
19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.
20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.

MATTHEW 24:37-51
37 But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,
39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47 Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
49 And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Sudan Moves Forward on Peaceful Nuclear Reactor
by Maayana Miskin AUG 22,10

Sudanese media reported Sunday that officials from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will visit the country this week to discuss Khartoum's plans to import a peaceful nuclear reactor. The announcement followed a breakthrough in Iran's nuclear program over the weekend, as engineers began loading fuel rods into the Bushehr reactor.Sudanese leaders established a nuclear program in early 2010, according to state news agency SUNA, and they plan to build the country's first nuclear power station in 2020. They say the program is necessary in order to provide electricity to all of the country's citizens, many of whom live in areas with no electric grid.Iran's senior leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said in April that Iran is prepared to help Sudan create a nuclear program by sharing both knowledge and technology. The two countries share close economic and political ties; both are Islamic theocratic states.Iran's nuclear program has caused international concern due to Iranian leaders' refusal to allow international supervision of the program and to remarks senior Iranian officials, including President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, have made threatening the state of Israel. Another cause for concern is Iran's support for terrorist groups.

Sudan is involving the IAEA in its nuclear plans, and says it has international approval to go ahead with plans to build two reactors. However, its plans may cause concern due to ongoing conflict in the country, including a government-backed genocide in the Darfur region that has killed hundreds of thousands of people and left many more as refugees.Another potential cause of alarm is the fact that Sudan has been used in the past as a conduit for weapons sent by Iran to terrorists in Gaza. An Iranian weapons convoy was bombed in Sudan in 2009 in an operation widely attributed to Israel. In 2006, a Guardian report revealed that Sudan may be a conduit for other types of equipment as well, including nuclear technology. The report claimed that hundreds of millions of dollars' worth of equipment that was imported to Sudan prior to 2001 had disappeared by 2006, and was apparently sold on the black market.(IsraelNationalNews.com)

Iran inaugurates nation's first unmanned bomber By NASSER KARIMI, Associated Press Writer - AUG 22,10

TEHRAN, Iran – Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Sunday inaugurated the country's first domestically built unmanned bomber aircraft, calling it an ambassador of death to Iran's enemies. The 4-meter-long drone aircraft can carry up to four cruise missiles and will have a range of 620 miles (1,000 kilometers), according to a state TV report — not far enough to reach archenemy Israel. The jet, as well as being an ambassador of death for the enemies of humanity, has a main message of peace and friendship, said Ahmadinejad at the inauguration ceremony, which fell on the country's national day for its defense industries. The goal of the aircraft, named Karrar or striker, is to keep the enemy paralyzed in its bases, he said, adding that the aircraft is for deterrence and defensive purposes. The president championed the country's military self-sufficiency program, and said it will continue until the enemies of humanity lose hope of ever attacking the Iranian nation.Iran launched an arms development program during its 1980-88 war with Iraq to compensate for a U.S. weapons embargo and now produces its own tanks, armored personnel carries, missiles and even a fighter plane.

Iran frequently makes announcements about new advances in military technology that cannot be independently verified.State TV later showed video footage of the plane taking off from a launching pad and reported that the craft traveled at speeds of 560 miles per hour (900 kilometers per hour) and could alternatively be armed with two 250-pound (113.4-kilogram) bombs or a 450-pound (204.12-kilogram) guided bomb.Iran has been producing its own light, unmanned surveillance aircraft since the late 1980s.The ceremony came a day after Iran began to fuel its first nuclear power reactor, with the help of Russia, amid international concerns over the possibility of a military dimension to its nuclear program.Iran insists it is only interested in generating electricity.Referring to Israel's occasional threats against Iran's nuclear facilities, Ahmadinejad called any attack unlikely, but he said if Israel did, the reaction would be overwhelming. The scope of Iran's reaction will include the entire the earth, said Ahmadinejad. We also tell you — the West — that all options are on the table.Ahmadinejad appeared to be consciously echoing the terminology used by the U.S. and Israel in their statements not ruling out a military option against Iran's nuclear facilities. On Friday, Iran also test-fired a new liquid fuel surface-to-surface missile, the Qiam-1, with advanced guidance systems.

Doomsday Articles Reflect Edginess on Iran
by Gil Ronen AUG 22,10

Two articles that appeared in internet news sites Sunday morning appear to reflect an atmosphere of edginess in parts of the Israeli public regarding the possibility of a war with Iran and its proxies. One was written by a person who claims to be part of a forum of experts but uses a pseudonym, and the other was written by Udi Pridan, an advertising executive. An article signed by Haggai Amos, a pseudonym, appeared in the News1 website, under the headline: Israel will be Attacked by Lebanon and Syria within the Next Two Weeks.Amos is identified as a member of the Israeli Intelligence Forum, which includes retired members of the intelligence community and former government officials. The Russian-Iranian move to open the Bushehr nuclear plant this weekend, Amos opines, was meant to signal to the declining powers of Europe and the U.S. that a new front is taking shape: Russia, China, Iran, Turkey, North Korea, Brazil and Venezuela are all lining up against the West.Iran wants a war to break out between Israel and Lebanon within the next two weeks, the article claims. Lebanon, it warns, will launch missiles against all parts of Israel, especially Tel Aviv. This first strike will cause massive casualties and psychological shock in Israel and will be accompanied by missile fire from Hamas in Gaza and by terror attacks in Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem.

This will be followed by a second strike: a chemical weapons attack by Syria that would cause hundreds of thousands of dead in Israel. Israel will retaliate very severely but only against Iran's proxies – Syria, Lebanon and Gaza – the article predicts. It does not explain why Syrian President Assad – a secular Alawite Muslim – would be willing to doom his country to annihilation in the service of Iran, a Shi'ite power. It also does not say why Israel would not retaliate against Iran if it knew the attack was initiated by it.Pridan's article appeared in Haaretz and is titled Wake Up!. It predicts that Israel will take action against the Iranian nuclear program. Stricken Iran will respond with its remaining strength following the Israeli attack, the prominent advertiser warns, firing missiles that can carry a payload of half a ton of explosives or chemical weapons. In addition, Hizbullah will fire thousand of rockets. Pridan also believes Tel Aviv will be badly hit, and envisions the IDF Headquarters at HaKiryah, the Akirov Towers where Defense Minister Ehud Barak resides, and the Azrieli Center towers all being reduced to rubble. If there will be thousands of dead, we will lick our wounds. Five thousand would be a national trauma. At 20,000 we will use the doomsday weapon against Iran, and then there will really be a new Middle East,Pridan writes. Both articles call on the public and its leaders, including the media, to awake from what they see as a state of lethargy in the face of impending catastrophe.(IsraelNationalNews.com)

DOCTOR DOCTORIAN FROM ANGEL OF GOD
then the angel said, Financial crisis will come to Asia. I will shake the world.

JAMES 5:1-3
1 Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you.
2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten.
3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days.

19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

EZEKIEL 7:19
19 They shall cast their silver in the streets, and their gold shall be removed: their silver and their gold shall not be able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the LORD: they shall not satisfy their souls, neither fill their bowels: because it is the stumblingblock of their iniquity.

Gulf Oil May Not Degrade for Decades Washington’s Blog August 22, 2010

As you might have heard, scientists are finding gigantic under oil plumes from the BP spill, including one that is more than 22 miles long, more than a mile wide and 650 feet deep.On Thursday, Dr. Ian MacDonald and and Dr. Lisa Suatoni testified to a Congressional subcommittee that the oil will stay toxic, and will not degrade much further, for decades. MacDonald is an expert in deep-ocean extreme communities including natural hydrocarbon seeps, gas hydrates, and mud volcano systems, a former long-time NOAA scientist, and a professor of Biological Oceanography at Florida State University. Suatoni has a PhD in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Yale, and is Senior Scientist at the Natural Resources Defense Council’s Oceans Program.Dr. MacDonald told Congress that the oil has already degraded, emulsified and evaporated about as much as its going to, and it is going to very resistant for further biodegradation. The oil will be in the environment for a long-time, he said, and the imprint of the BP discharge will be detectable for the rest of my life (he’s 58, and the average lifespan for American men is about 76; so that’s some 18 years).

Dr. Suatoni told Congress that oil which goes into low-oxygen zones will remain in a full toxic form for decades. Why isn’t the oil degrading faster? As National Georgraphic noted Thursday:The oil plume’s stability is a little unexpected, study leader Richard Camilli, of WHOI’s Applied Ocean Physics and Engineering Department, said at a Thursday press briefing in Washington, D.C. We don’t have any clear indication as to why it set up at that depth. It’s unclear why the Gulf’s microbes aren’t eating the oil plume, but the organisms are infamous for being unpredictable, said study co-author Christopher Reddy, a marine chemist at WHOI.Further studies are needed to figure out why the plume isn’t degrading, Reddy said during the press briefing ….Indeed, one of the world’s leading experts on oil-eating bacteria told me yesterday that the main oil-eaters aren’t even present in the underwater plumes he sampled.

16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.
18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

Israeli PM stakes out positions for peace talks By JOSEF FEDERMAN, Associated Press Writer – Sun Aug 22, 4:05 pm ET

JERUSALEM – Israel's prime minister demanded Sunday that any future Palestinian state be demilitarized and recognize Israel as the Jewish homeland, as he staked out his starting position for new Mideast peace talks.Benjamin Netanyahu said reaching a deal will be difficult but possible. The conditions he laid down, coupled with a swift Palestinian rejection, illustrated just how difficult the task will be for the U.S. to meet its goal of brokering peace within a year. Talks are set to begin in Washington next week.We want to surprise all of the critics and skeptics. But to do that we need a real partner on the Palestinian side, Netanyahu told his Cabinet Sunday. If we discover that we have such a partner, we will be able to quickly reach a historic agreement between the two peoples. In his first public comments since the White House announced the planned resumption of talks on Friday, Netanyahu gave the first signs of what has been an extremely vague vision for a final settlement. He said any future Palestinian state would not be allowed to have an army, would have to recognize Israel as a Jewish state and accept other Israeli security demands, he said, without elaborating. He did not address what are considered the conflict's thorniest issues: borders, the status of Jerusalem and the fate of the Palestinian refugees.

He will be negotiating with the Palestine Liberation Organization, which holds sway only in the West Bank, the territory squeezed between Israel and the Jordan River. The PLO wants a state in all of the West Bank, neighboring east Jerusalem and the seaside Gaza Strip on the other side of Israel.Gaza is ruled by the Islamic militant group Hamas, which refuses to recognize Israel. In the past, Netanyahu has said Israel would have to maintain a security presence along the West Bank's border with Jordan to prevent arms smuggling, and that east Jerusalem, the sector of the holy city claimed by the Palestinians as their capital, must remain under Israeli control.

His Likud party is also a champion of the four-decade-old movement to settle Jews in the West Bank, which Israel captured along with east Jerusalem and Gaza in the 1967 Mideast war, though it withdrew from Gaza in 2005.Achieving a peace agreement between us and the Palestinian Authority is difficult but possible, he said. The Palestinians have long rejected Netanyahu's demands. They say that recognizing Israel as a Jewish state would threaten the status of Israel's Arab minority and undermine the rights of Palestinian refugees whose families lost homes during Israel's creation in 1948.They also say a future Israeli presence in the West Bank would be unacceptable.Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said Netanyahu's comments were dictation, not negotiation. If he wants negotiations, he knows that these conditions won't stand, Erekat said.During nearly two decades of failed negotiations, previous Israeli governments have offered broad withdrawals from nearly all of the West Bank. But talks have bogged down over the extent of the withdrawal and the sensitive issues of refugees and Jerusalem.

Netanyahu's predecessor, Ehud Olmert, who left office last year, has said he proposed a withdrawal from nearly all of the West Bank, offered to turn over parts of east Jerusalem to Palestinian sovereignty and agreed to a symbolic return of some Palestinian refugees to what is now Israel. Olmert's talks with the Palestinians broke down, however, after Israel launched a war against Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip in December 2008. Netanyahu was subsequently elected, and talks have been on hold since then. Something close to the Olmert proposal — including a Palestinian presence in east Jerusalem and a near-complete withdrawal from the West Bank — is widely seen as the basis for a future settlement. But Netanyahu, who leads a coalition dominated by hard-line nationalistic and religious parties, has signaled he is not willing to go that far. He pointedly insisted that there be no preconditions for him to rejoin the peace talks, and his aides have given no details about what concessions he is prepared to make, saying that is a matter for negotiations. In a key test, an Israeli slowdown on settlement construction in the West Bank is set to expire next month, and some of the coalition's hawkish members have said the government's stability will be threatened if Israeli construction in the West Bank does not resume in full. Erekat, the Palestinian negotiator, said that if the slowdown ends, Israel will have closed the door to negotiation. The Western-backed Palestinian government in the West Bank resisted entering direct peace talks with Netanyahu for months, fearing they would not be productive. It agreed under heavy American diplomatic pressure and assurances from the international community that a final peace settlement must end the occupation which began in 1967.With the gaps so wide, expectations are low all around. Israeli and Palestinian newspapers greeted news of the new talks with pessimism Sunday, and one leading Israeli newspaper, Maariv, buried its report on page 10. Yaacov Bar-Siman-Tov, an analyst at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, said the gaps on key issues are so wide they have taken on a mythical status. He said any breakthrough would require heavy involvement by President Barack Obama, and the best hope at this stage would be for an interim agreement that puts off a decision on the sensitive issues of Jerusalem and Palestinian refugees.Looming over the negotiations is the continued control of Gaza by Hamas militants. The Iranian-backed group, which seized control of Gaza in 2007, has condemned the negotiations, and it is unclear how any peace deal could be carried out as long as it rules one of the two areas claimed by the Palestinians.

Militant groups like Hamas have tried to sabotage past peace efforts by attacking Israeli targets. And in late 2000, the second Palestinian uprising broke out just as President Bill Clinton was making a final push for peace before leaving office. But Gaza militants, skeptical about the prospects for success, appear unlikely to disrupt what has been a general period of calm since Israel ended its offensive in January 2009. The Israeli military refused to say whether it had taken any special precaution, saying only it is prepared for any eventuality.Aisha Mohammed in Jerusalem contributed to this report.

EU, US put hope in relaunch of Middle East talks
ANDREW RETTMAN 20.08.2010 @ 16:13 CET

EUOBSERVER / BRUSSELS - The Quartet is gearing up to formally invite Israeli and Palestinian leaders for face-to-face peace talks for the first time in one and a half years. The meeting is to be hosted by US President Barack Obama in Washington on 2 September and to aim for an outcome within one year, EUobserver has learned.

Israeli and Palestinian diplomats have agreed in principle to accept the invitation. But the final Quartet communique - expected later on Friday (20 August) - could still cause upset by, for example, laying down pro-Palestinian pre-conditions, such as a moratorium on Israeli settlement building. There are divergences among the Quartet powers on this issue [the EU, Russia, the UN and the US], one contact close to the process said. The official aim of the Quartet is to help create a viable Palestinian state alongside Israel, with a negotiated solution on the status of Jerusalem. One major problem is the building of Israeli settlements on occupied Palestinian land, with an Israeli peace activist and Jerusalem city councillor, Meir Margalit, telling this website in a pervious interview that it would cause civil war inside Israel if it tried to pull the settlers out. Another problem is the Palestinian Authority's split with Hamas, a militant Palestinian resistance group listed as terrorists by the EU and US, which controls the Gaza strip.A Hamas spokesman, Ghazi Hamad, told EUobserver by phone from Gaza that German, Greek, Italian, Russian and Spanish MPs and officials have in recent meetings explored ways to involve the group in the peace process.Hamas refuses to recognise the right of Israel to exist or to renounce violent resistance, however.

Without co-ordination between Hamas and Fatah [the Palestinian Authority] we will achieve nothing, he said. To start peace negotiations when you do not have a real resistance is nothing. And a resistance without a political umbrella is nothing. We have to build a new strategy to mix political action and resistance.Israel says Hamas cannot be included in high-level talks on its current terms. How can you ask to be part of the peace process when you are not willing to give up violence, to give up terrorism? When you're not even willing to say that you give up violence, an Israeli diplomat said. The story originally said the talks would take place on 2 October. The correct date is 2 September.

Tropical Storm Frank develops off Mexico coast
Sun Aug 22, 5:25 pm ET

MEXICO CITY (AFP) – Tropical Storm Frank advanced Sunday toward Mexico's southwestern coast as authorities warned that the Pacific storm could reach hurricane status by late Monday.Packing winds of up to 60 miles an hour (95 kilometers) and higher gusts, Frank moved westward off the southern coast of Mexico, about 130 miles (205 kilometers) from the coastal town of Puerto Angel in Oaxaca at 2100 GMT.It was not expected to reach the United States. The government of Mexico has extended the tropical storm warning westward from Punta Maldonado to Acapulco, the Miami-based US National Hurricane Center said. The warning means tropical storm conditions were expected in the area within 36 hours. The NHC said the Mexican government also has issued a tropical storm watch -- advising of possible tropical storm conditions within 48 hours -- for the coast from Acapulco westward to Tecpan de Galeana. Some additional strengthening was expected in the next 48 hours, with hurricane punch anticipated by late Monday, the NHC said.Frank was expected to move parallel to the coast of southern Mexico through Tuesday, dumping total rain accumulation of three to six inches (seven to 15 centimeters), the NHC added. These rainfall amounts may produce life-threatening flash floods and mudslides, it said.

Tropical Storm Danielle forms over Atlantic Ocean
Sun Aug 22, 5:09 pm ET

MIAMI (Reuters) – Tropical Storm Danielle formed over the open Atlantic far from land on Sunday and could become a hurricane by Tuesday night, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.Danielle, the fourth named storm of the 2010 Atlantic hurricane season, was located 725 miles west of the southernmost Cape Verde Islands and was moving northwest at 23 miles per hour (19 km per hour). It carried top sustained winds of 40 miles per hour (65 km per hour) and was forecast to strengthen slowly over the next few days. It would become a hurricane if its top winds reach 74 mph (119 km per hour).Danielle posed no threat to land or energy interests and was expected to eventually curve more to the north on a path that would keep it over open seas at least through Friday, forecasters at the hurricane center in Miami said.

More than 5,000 evacuated as floods hit North Korea
Sun Aug 22, 6:28 am ET

SEOUL (Reuters) – More than 5,000 people have been evacuated from a North Korean city bordering China after flooding from a rain-swollen river that also forced more than 94,000 people to leave affected areas in China this week.North Korea's official KCNA news agency said on Sunday many parts of northwestern Shinuiju city had been submerged after the river that forms the border between North Korea and China overflowed due to more than 300 mm (11.8 inch) of rain falling between midnight and 9a.m. on Saturday.North Korean leader Kim Jong-il sent military units to rescue residents of the northwestern area and at least 5,150 flood victims were evacuated by the air force and navy, KCNA said.In China's Dandong area flooding from the swollen river, called the Yalu in Chinese and the Amnok in Korean, killed four people and flooded 44 townships, bringing power blackouts and disruption to communications, Chinese state media said.Local weather stations forecast on Sunday morning that 250 mm of rain would pelt the Chinese city over the next 24 hours.

Massive flooding in recent years left hundreds of people dead or missing, swept away buildings and inundated farms, prompting reclusive North Korea to seek foreign food aid.Lack of proper infrastructure in most areas outside the capital Pyongyang makes arable land and residential districts of North Korea vulnerable to water damage in times of heavy rain, which in turn hurts harvests and worsens food shortages.Aid groups have said the North suffers chronic shortfalls of food, with traditional key donor countries such as South Korea and the United States having sharply cut contributions in response to North Korea's nuclear weapons and missile tests.North Korea can barely feed its 23 million people even with a good harvest due to its hilly terrain and antiquated farming industry.(Reporting by Miyoung Kim; additional reporting by Chen Aizhu and Beijing; Editing by Alex Richardson)

250,000 evacuated after floods in China, N.Korea by Marianne Barriaux – Sun Aug 22, 4:26 pm ET

BEIJING (AFP) – More than 250,000 people have been evacuated in northeast China following serious floods that have already left four dead and forced the relocation of thousands in neighbouring North Korea.Heavy summer downpours have dangerously swollen the Yalu river, which forms the border between the two countries, and forecasters are warning of yet more torrential rain to come.Chinese officials said Sunday that 253,000 people had been evacuated in Liaoning province in less than 24 hours due to the rains, as the nation struggles with its worst floods in a decade.

In Dandong city alone, which borders North Korea, more than 94,000 residents were evacuated and some power and transport links were cut off, the official Xinhua news agency reported.A couple in their 70s and a mother and son died in Kuandian county, around 100 kilometres (60 miles) northeast of Dandong, when flash floods swept away their homes, Xinhua said, citing a local flood control official.A 60-year-old man was also missing in Kuandian after his house collapsed in a rain-triggered landslide, but no new casualites were reported on Sunday. At one stage on Saturday water levels at a Dandong monitoring station rose to 2.5 metres above the warning line, the second highest since records began in 1934, according to Xinhua.Photos showed helicopters airlifting people from damaged rooftops as grey water swirled around buildings.China's national meteorological centre warned Sunday that new downpours were expected in parts of Liaoning, including Dandong, for another 24 hours at least. In neighbouring North Korea, more than 5,000 people have been moved to safety after parts of Sinuiju city and rural communities near the border were completely inundated, the official Korean Central News Agency said.Traffic in downtown Sinuiju was paralysed and flood victims were stranded on rooftops and on hills, prompting the North's leader Kim Jong-Il to order an emergency military rescue operation, it added. The impoverished state has been hit by widespread flooding this summer, which has washed away homes, roads, railways and farmland, causing an unspecified number of deaths, according to state media reports from Pyongyang. After decades of deforestation, North Korea is particularly vulnerable to flooding. In 2007, it reported at least 600 people dead or missing from devastating floods.

Nearly 3,900 Chinese have been killed or left missing this year in flood-related incidents, official figures show.In the northwestern province of Gansu, a torrent of mud on August 7 slammed into homes in the remote town of Zhouqu, leaving at least 1,435 people dead and another 330 missing.Authorities there have now banned local residents from continuing to search for their missing loved ones to prevent an outbreak of disease, Xinhua reported. The bodies have begun to rot after being buried for two weeks. Searching the debris risks an epidemic outbreak, a local government spokesman was quoted as saying. In the southwestern province of Yunnan, rescuers are searching for 63 people who went missing in rain-triggered mudslides in a remote mountainous area. Twenty-nine people have been confirmed dead, Xinhua said in a separate report.Heavy rains and bad road conditions there have hampered rescue work, and the chances of finding any survivors are slim, it added.

by Hasan Mansoor – Sun Aug 22, 6:25 pm ET

KARACHI (AFP) – Pakistani authorities evacuated tens of thousands from flood-threatened areas in the south on Sunday but insisted that the 2.5 million people of Hyderabad were safe from the nation's worst-ever inundation. The weak civilian government has faced an outpouring of fury over sluggish relief efforts, while officials are warning the country faces ruinous economic losses of up to 43 billion dollars, ahead of IMF talks this week. The month-long floods have killed 1,500 people and affected up to 20 million nationwide, according to official tallies, with the threat of disease ever-present in the miserable camps sheltering penniless survivors.

We are right now trying to protect Shahdadkot town, which is threatened by the rising floodwaters, Sindh provincial irrigation minister Jam Saifullah Dharejo told AFP.He said an embankment built to protect the city was under pressure from the waters and we are trying to save the city from the unprecedented flood.Dharejo said the Sindh government had already escorted most of Shahdadkot's 100,000 population to safety. But there are still some people stranded in these villages (around Shahdadkot) and we are making efforts to rescue them, he added.Dharejo, however, stressed there was no threat to Hyderabad, the second-largest city in Sindh and Pakistan's sixth biggest overall.Streets were deserted and all markets shut in Shahdadkot and a group of people were seen loading their belongings into a private vehicle before leaving, an AFP photographer in the town said.People have migrated to safer places as they are afraid that the floodwater may inundate this town, farmer Mehram Ali told AFP.He said the majority had gone to Larkana or Sukkur towns, adding he had come back to Shahdadkot from Larkana to see if my town is safe.

Grocer Asghar Ali was hurriedly packing up his luggage to leave the area.I cannot believe my eyes when I look at the empty town, which used to hum with activity just until a few days ago, he told AFP.The International Monetary Fund said it would meet Pakistani officials in Washington this week to discuss the impact of the floods, which have devastated the country's southern agricultural breadbasket and its textiles industry.Millions of flood survivors in desperate need of food, shelter and clean drinking water require humanitarian assistance to survive, as concerns grow over potential cholera, typhoid and hepatitis outbreaks.UN chief Ban Ki-moon has praised the global community as emergency donations for Pakistan neared 500 million dollars, but warned the country faces years of need. The United States, which has made the nuclear-armed nation a key ally in the fight against Islamic extremism, has given the most, followed by Saudi Arabia and Britain. It is very likely that the need for donations will strongly increase because... the number of people in need of immediate humanitarian aid has risen from six to eight million, Maurizio Giuliano, spokesman for the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Islamabad, told AFP. The UN has increased its initial estimate of the number of people without shelter from two million to six million. We have more than doubled the rate at which we are delivering relief but, since August 11, the number of people who need emergency shelter has undoubtedly more than tripled, Giuliano said. We are in a race against time. The UN World Food Programme said it urgently needed helicopters to get food to millions of flood victims who remain cut off by the high waters, although weather forecasters say the monsoon systems are easing off. The WFP warned that the floods have killed or are threatening millions of livestock, and launched an urgent appeal for animal feed. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, has returned from a UN General Assembly's special session on Pakistan in New York, where he showed video footage depicting the unprecedented scale of the disaster, with one fifth of Pakistan -- an area larger than Italy -- still underwater. He told a press conference in Islamabad Sunday that Foreign Ministers of 27 European Union countries would meet in Brussels next month to discuss the flood situation and rehabilitation of people affected by floods.

Farms recalling eggs share suppliers, other ties By MARY CLARE JALONICK, Associated Press Writer - AUG 23,10

WASHINGTON – Two Iowa farms that recalled more than a half-billion eggs linked to as many as 1,300 cases of salmonella poisoning share suppliers of chickens and feed as well as ties to an Iowa business routinely cited for violating state and federal law, an egg industry spokeswoman said.Food and Drug Administration investigators have yet to determine the cause of the salmonella outbreaks at Wright County Egg and Hillandale Farms. The FDA investigation could take months, and sources of contamination are often difficult to find. The number of illnesses, which can be life-threatening, especially to those with weakened immune systems, is expected to increase. The most common symptoms are diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever eight to 72 hours of eating a contaminated product.Jewanna Porter, a spokeswoman for the egg industry, said Saturday the company Quality Egg supplies young chickens and feed to both Wright County Egg and Hillandale Farms. The two share other suppliers, she said, but she did not name them. The egg industry has consolidated over recent years, placing fewer, larger businesses in control over much of the nation's egg supply to consumers.

The salmonella outbreak has raised questions about federal inspections of egg farms. The FDA oversees inspections of shell eggs, while the Agriculture Department is in charge of inspecting other egg products.William D. Marler, a Seattle attorney for a person who filed suit alleging illness from tainted eggs in a salad at a restaurant in Kenosha, Wis., said Sunday his firm has been retained by two dozen families and was representing a woman who was hospitalized in California. The history of ignoring the law makes the sickening of 1,300 and the forced recall of 550 million eggs shockingly understandable, Marler said in an e-mail to The Associated Press. You have to wonder where the USDA and FDA inspectors were.Businessman Austin Jack DeCoster owns Wright County Egg and Quality Egg. Wright County Egg recalled 380 million eggs Aug. 13 after it was linked to more than 1,000 cases of salmonella poisoning. A week later, Hillandale Farms recalled 170 million eggs.DeCoster is no stranger to controversy in his food and farm operations:

_In 1994, the state of Iowa assessed at least four separate penalties against DeCoster Farms for environmental violations, many of them involving hog waste.

_In 1997, DeCoster Egg Farms agreed to pay $2 million in fines to settle citations brought in 1996 for health and safety violations at DeCoster's farm in Turner, Maine. The nation's labor secretary at the time, Robert Reich, said conditions were as dangerous and oppressive as any sweatshop. Reich's successor, Alexis Herman, called the state of the farms simply atrocious, citing unguarded machinery, electrical hazards, exposure to harmful bacteria and other unsanitary conditions.

_In 2000, Iowa designated DeCoster a habitual violator of environmental regulations for problems that included hog manure runoff into waterways. The label made him subject to increased penalties and prohibited him from building new farms.

_In 2002, the federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced a more than $1.5 million settlement of an employment discrimination lawsuit against DeCoster Farms on behalf of Mexican women who reported they were subjected to sexual harassment, including rape, abuse and retaliation by some supervisory workers at DeCoster's Wright County plants.

_In 2007, 51 workers were arrested during an immigration raid at six DeCoster egg farms. His farms had been the subject of at least three previous raids.

_In June 2010, Maine Contract Farming, the successor company to DeCoster Egg Farms, agreed in state court to pay $25,000 in penalties and to make a one-time payment of $100,000 to the Maine Department of Agriculture over animal cruelty allegations that were spurred by a hidden-camera investigation by an animal welfare organization.

In a statement issued Sunday, Wright County Egg spokeswoman Hinda Mitchell said: When issues have been raised about our farms, our management team has addressed them swiftly and effectively, working with recognized outside experts to identify and establish corrective measures for our operations. We are approaching our work with FDA in the same forthright manner.Wright County Egg also faces a lawsuit from food distributor Dutch Farms alleging that the company used unauthorized cartons to package and sell eggs under its brand without its knowledge. The CDC said last week that investigations by 10 states since April have identified 26 cases where more than one person became ill. Preliminary information showed that Wright was the supplier in at least 15 of those cases.Associated Press writer Jeff Baenen in Minneapolis contributed to this report. UN board could rein in $2.7 billion carbon market By JOHN HEILPRIN, Associated Press Writer – Sat Aug 21, 12:30 am ET

UNITED NATIONS – An obscure U.N. board that oversees a $2.7 billion market intended to cut heat-trapping gases has agreed to take steps that could lead to it eventually reining in what European and U.S. environmentalists are calling a huge scam.At a meeting this week that ended Friday, the executive board of the U.N.'s Clean Development Mechanism said that five chemical plants in China would no longer qualify for funding as so-called carbon offset credits until the environmentalists' claims can be further investigated. The CDM credits have been widely used in the carbon trading markets of the European Union, Japan and other nations that signed onto the 1997 Kyoto Protocol requiring mandatory cuts in greenhouse gases.Rather than cut their own carbon emissions, industrialized nations can buy the credits which then pay developing countries to cut their greenhouse gases instead. But environmentalists say rich nations could be wasting billions of dollars on what some are calling perverse financial incentives, because some of the largest projects funded by the U.N.-managed CDM are a golden goose for chemical makers without making meaningful cuts in emissions. The CDM executive board, based in Bonn, Germany, has asked for a decades' worth of data on the gases from those five plants in China to study whether the system was manipulated.

The controversy revolves around the apparent conflict between the Kyoto climate treaty and another U.N. treaty, the 1987 Montreal Protocol for repairing the Earth's fragile ozone layer. The money from the CDM-authorized fund goes to pay the carbon offset credits claimed by more than 20 chemical makers mostly in China and India, but also in nations such as South Korea, Argentina and Mexico. The chemical makers are paid as much as $100,000 or more for every ton they destroy of a potent greenhouse gas, HFC-23. The price for destroying it is based on its being 11,700 times more powerful as a climate-warming gas than carbon dioxide. But that gas is a byproduct of an ozone-friendly refrigerant, HCFC-22, which those chemical makers also are paid to produce under the U.N.'s ozone treaty. Environmentalists say there is so much money in getting rid of HFC-23 that the chemical makers are overproducing HCFC-22 to have more of the byproduct to destroy. The evidence is overwhelming that manufacturers are creating excess HFC-23 simply to destroy it and earn carbon credits, said Mark Roberts of the Environmental Investigation Agency, a research and advocacy group. This is the biggest environmental scandal in history and makes an absolute mockery of international efforts to combat climate change.HCFC-22 is widely used in hair sprays, air conditioners and some refrigerators because it less damaging to the seasonal ozone hole over Antarctica than previous coolants. It has been promoted under the ozone treaty, often considered one of the world's most successful environmental treaties, as a replacement for chloroflourocarbons, or CFCs.

Investors defensive with data in focus By Chuck Mikolajczak - Sun Aug 22, 10:44 am ET

NEW YORK (Reuters) – With Wall Street limping along through the summer doldrums, investors say they will remain on guard for more deterioration in what's expected to be a light-volume week. The S&P 500 suffered losses last week and is in danger of falling further due to worries about economic data. The market is moving into a defensive posture coming into next week, said Paul Mendelsohn, chief investment strategist at Windham Financial Services in Charlotte, Vermont. There may be some trepidation on the data that is coming out based on the data we saw (last) week that seems to indicate the economy could be deteriorating.Even a pick-up in mergers and acquisitions was not enough to entice investors to get back into the market because of the dismal signs.Potash Corp (POT.TO)(POT.N) searched for a white knight on Friday as BHP Billiton (BHP.AX) formally launched its $39 billion hostile offer for the world's largest fertilizer company. The offer came on the heels of Thursday's deal by Intel Corp (INTC.O) to acquire software maker McAfee Inc (MFE.N) for $7.7 billion, fueling speculation more acquisition activity was on the horizon, which market participants noted may not improve the economic climate. The main goal of a merger is to cut costs which means they are going to be cutting jobs even more -- so is that necessarily a good thing? said Joe Saluzzi, co-manager of trading at Themis Trading in Chatham, New Jersey.

Anemic volumes on Wall Street recently -- including the lowest volume tally of the year on last Monday -- will also present another obstacle as they show apprehension by investors and are unlikely to improve without a significant catalyst.According to Thomson Reuters data, 97 percent of S&P 500 companies have reported quarterly earnings, putting the attention squarely on economic data, including reports on the housing market, durable goods and the preliminary reading of gross domestic product.

The government's estimate of GDP is expected to show a 1.4 percent increase in the second quarter, down from the 2.4 percent rise estimated a month ago.Disappointing initial jobless claims data and a dismal reading on manufacturing activity in the mid-Atlantic region on last Thursday have turned investors pessimistic, as the chorus warning of a double-dip recession grows louder. On Friday, the S&P managed to close above the 1,070 level, viewed as a key technical support level as it represents both the August 16 low and the 50 percent Fibonacci retracement from the rally between July 1 and August 9.There is a critical point here -- if we were to close under that I would probably increase my hedges a little bit just to add some protection coming into the weekend here, said Mendelsohn.Last week, the Dow fell 0.9 percent, the S&P 500 slipped 0.7 percent but the Nasdaq added 0.3 percent.Data from Credit Suisse showed institutional investors had adopted a more defensive stance in the second quarter, increasing holdings in areas such as telecommunications and utilities along with food, beverage and tobacco -- a trend which could continue due to weak data, according to analyst Pankaj Patel.Usually there is some momentum so you would see a similar thing this quarter, depending on how this quarter turns out, they will slowly change it. It doesn't change quickly most of the time, said Patel, analyst at Credit Suisse in New York.As August options expired on Friday, options investors are bracing for a quiet market this week. But M&A activities that have been gaining ground recently will continue to be in the spotlight. The big speculation for (this) week is who is next on the M&A front. That's going to be the big story and information everyone wants to know, Jud Pyle, chief investment strategist at PEAK 6 Investments in Chicago. Options activity on U.S.-listed shares of Canadian fertilizer firm Potash Corp was one of the most active this week after it rejected a take over bid from BHP Billiton. The CBOE Volatility index (.VIX), Wall Street's so-called fear gauge, was expected to stay below 25, suggesting a relatively calm market. Currently the index was trading up 1 percent at 26.71.

4 decapitated bodies hung from bridge in Mexico By OSWALD ALONSO, Associated Press Writer – Sun Aug 22, 8:07 pm ET

CUERNAVACA, Mexico – The decapitated bodies of four men were hung from a bridge Sunday in this central Mexican city besieged by fighting between two drug lords.A gang led by kingpin Hector Beltran Leyva took responsibility for the killings in a message left with the bodies, the attorney general's office of Morelos state said in a statement. The beheaded and mutilated bodies were hung by their feet early Sunday from the bridge in Cuernavaca, a popular weekend getaway for Mexico City residents.

Cuernavaca has become a battleground for control of the Beltran Leyva cartel since its leader, Arturo Beltran Leyva, was killed there in a December shootout with marines.Mexican authorities say the cartel split between a faction led by Hector Beltran Leyva, brother of Arturo, and another led by Edgar Valdez Villarreal, a U.S.-born kingpin known as the Barbie. The message left with the bodies threatened: This is what will happen to all those who support the traitor Edgar Valdez Villarreal.

Authorities said the four men had been kidnapped days earlier. The family of one of the men reported the abduction to police. In western Mexico, police found the body of a U.S. citizen inside a car along the highway between the Pacific resorts of Acapulco and Zihuatanejo.A report from Guerrero state police said the man was shot to death and had identification indicating he was from Georgia. The U.S. Embassy could not be reached to confirm the man's identity.Police said they had no suspects and had not determined a motive.Guerrero state has been wracked by drug-gang violence, including the strife within the Beltran Leyva cartel. There have also been a series of deadly carjackings this year along highways in the state.Mexico has seen unprecedented gang violence since President Felipe Calderon stepped up the fight against drug trafficking when he took office in December 2006, deploying thousands of troops and federal police to cartel strongholds.Since then, more than 28,000 people have been killed in violence tied to Mexico's drug war.(This version CORRECTS tate where Cuernavaca is located to Morelos instead of state of Mexico, corrects the second family name of Barbie to Villarreal instead of Villareal.)

TORAH PORTION FROM AUG 22-28,2010

SINCE WHAT ISRAEL READS WILL BE FULFILLED IN THAT WEEK I WILL BE PUTTING THE WEEKLY TORAH PORTION ON FOR ALL OF US TO KEEP TRACK OF ISRAEL HAPPENINGS.

TORAH PORTION FROM AUG 22 2010 6PM - AUG 28 6PM 2010

DEUTERONOMY 26:1 - 29:9
1 And it shall be, when thou art come in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance, and possessest it, and dwellest therein;
2 That thou shalt take of the first of all the fruit of the earth, which thou shalt bring of thy land that the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt put it in a basket, and shalt go unto the place which the LORD thy God shall choose to place his name there.
3 And thou shalt go unto the priest that shall be in those days, and say unto him, I profess this day unto the LORD thy God, that I am come unto the country which the LORD sware unto our fathers for to give us.
4 And the priest shall take the basket out of thine hand, and set it down before the altar of the LORD thy God.
5 And thou shalt speak and say before the LORD thy God, A Syrian ready to perish was my father, and he went down into Egypt, and sojourned there with a few, and became there a nation, great, mighty, and populous:
6 And the Egyptians evil entreated us, and afflicted us, and laid upon us hard bondage:
7 And when we cried unto the LORD God of our fathers, the LORD heard our voice, and looked on our affliction, and our labour, and our oppression:
8 And the LORD brought us forth out of Egypt with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terribleness, and with signs, and with wonders:
9 And he hath brought us into this place, and hath given us this land, even a land that floweth with milk and honey.
10 And now, behold, I have brought the firstfruits of the land, which thou, O LORD, hast given me. And thou shalt set it before the LORD thy God, and worship before the LORD thy God:
11 And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the LORD thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you.
12 When thou hast made an end of tithing all the tithes of thine increase the third year, which is the year of tithing, and hast given it unto the Levite, the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, that they may eat within thy gates, and be filled;
13 Then thou shalt say before the LORD thy God, I have brought away the hallowed things out of mine house, and also have given them unto the Levite, and unto the stranger, to the fatherless, and to the widow, according to all thy commandments which thou hast commanded me: I have not transgressed thy commandments, neither have I forgotten them:
14 I have not eaten thereof in my mourning, neither have I taken away ought thereof for any unclean use, nor given ought thereof for the dead: but I have hearkened to the voice of the LORD my God, and have done according to all that thou hast commanded me.
15 Look down from thy holy habitation, from heaven, and bless thy people Israel, and the land which thou hast given us, as thou swarest unto our fathers, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
16 This day the LORD thy God hath commanded thee to do these statutes and judgments: thou shalt therefore keep and do them with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.
17 Thou hast avouched the LORD this day to be thy God, and to walk in his ways, and to keep his statutes, and his commandments, and his judgments, and to hearken unto his voice:
18 And the LORD hath avouched thee this day to be his peculiar people, as he hath promised thee, and that thou shouldest keep all his commandments;
19 And to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the LORD thy God, as he hath spoken.

DEUTERONOMY 27:1-26
1 And Moses with the elders of Israel commanded the people, saying, Keep all the commandments which I command you this day.
2 And it shall be on the day when ye shall pass over Jordan unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, that thou shalt set thee up great stones, and plaister them with plaister:
3 And thou shalt write upon them all the words of this law, when thou art passed over, that thou mayest go in unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, a land that floweth with milk and honey; as the LORD God of thy fathers hath promised thee.
4 Therefore it shall be when ye be gone over Jordan, that ye shall set up these stones, which I command you this day, in mount Ebal, and thou shalt plaister them with plaister.
5 And there shalt thou build an altar unto the LORD thy God, an altar of stones: thou shalt not lift up any iron tool upon them.
6 Thou shalt build the altar of the LORD thy God of whole stones: and thou shalt offer burnt offerings thereon unto the LORD thy God:
7 And thou shalt offer peace offerings, and shalt eat there, and rejoice before the LORD thy God.
8 And thou shalt write upon the stones all the words of this law very plainly.
9 And Moses and the priests the Levites spake unto all Israel, saying, Take heed, and hearken, O Israel; this day thou art become the people of the LORD thy God.
10 Thou shalt therefore obey the voice of the LORD thy God, and do his commandments and his statutes, which I command thee this day.
11 And Moses charged the people the same day, saying,
12 These shall stand upon mount Gerizim to bless the people, when ye are come over Jordan; Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Joseph, and Benjamin:
13 And these shall stand upon mount Ebal to curse; Reuben, Gad, and Asher, and Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
14 And the Levites shall speak, and say unto all the men of Israel with a loud voice,
15 Cursed be the man that maketh any graven or molten image, an abomination unto the LORD, the work of the hands of the craftsman, and putteth it in a secret place. And all the people shall answer and say, Amen.
16 Cursed be he that setteth light by his father or his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.
17 Cursed be he that removeth his neighbour's landmark. And all the people shall say, Amen.
18 Cursed be he that maketh the blind to wander out of the way. And all the people shall say, Amen.
19 Cursed be he that perverteth the judgment of the stranger, fatherless, and widow. And all the people shall say, Amen.
20 Cursed be he that lieth with his father's wife; because he uncovereth his father's skirt. And all the people shall say, Amen.
21 Cursed be he that lieth with any manner of beast. And all the people shall say, Amen.
22 Cursed be he that lieth with his sister, the daughter of his father, or the daughter of his mother. And all the people shall say, Amen.
23 Cursed be he that lieth with his mother in law. And all the people shall say, Amen.
24 Cursed be he that smiteth his neighbour secretly. And all the people shall say, Amen.
25 Cursed be he that taketh reward to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, Amen.
26 Cursed be he that confirmeth not all the words of this law to do them. And all the people shall say, Amen.

DEUTERONOMY 28:1-68
1 And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:
2 And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.
3 Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.
4 Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
5 Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.
6 Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
7 The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.
8 The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
9 The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.
10 And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.
11 And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.
13 And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them:
14 And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.
15 But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee:
16 Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.
17 Cursed shall be thy basket and thy store.
18 Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.
19 Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.
20 The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.
21 The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.
22 The LORD shall smite thee with a consumption, and with a fever, and with an inflammation, and with an extreme burning, and with the sword, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.
23 And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.
24 The LORD shall make the rain of thy land powder and dust: from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
25 The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth.
26 And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away.
27 The LORD will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.
28 The LORD shall smite thee with madness, and blindness, and astonishment of heart:
29 And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.
30 Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her: thou shalt build an house, and thou shalt not dwell therein: thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not gather the grapes thereof.
31 Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof: thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee: thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies, and thou shalt have none to rescue them.
32 Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day long: and there shall be no might in thine hand.
33 The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed alway:
34 So that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
35 The LORD shall smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore botch that cannot be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the top of thy head.
36 The LORD shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.
37 And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.
38 Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather but little in; for the locust shall consume it.
39 Thou shalt plant vineyards, and dress them, but shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worms shall eat them.
40 Thou shalt have olive trees throughout all thy coasts, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olive shall cast his fruit.
41 Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but thou shalt not enjoy them; for they shall go into captivity.
42 All thy trees and fruit of thy land shall the locust consume.
43 The stranger that is within thee shall get up above thee very high; and thou shalt come down very low.
44 He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him: he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.
45 Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee:
46 And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever.
47 Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things;
48 Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
49 The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;
50 A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young:
51 And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee.
52 And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fenced walls come down, wherein thou trustedst, throughout all thy land: and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.
53 And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters, which the LORD thy God hath given thee, in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee:
54 So that the man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil toward his brother, and toward the wife of his bosom, and toward the remnant of his children which he shall leave:
55 So that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat: because he hath nothing left him in the siege, and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall distress thee in all thy gates.
56 The tender and delicate woman among you, which would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil toward the husband of her bosom, and toward her son, and toward her daughter,
57 And toward her young one that cometh out from between her feet, and toward her children which she shall bear: for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly in the siege and straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall distress thee in thy gates.
58 If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE LORD THY GOD;
59 Then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.
60 Moreover he will bring upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast afraid of; and they shall cleave unto thee.
61 Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.
62 And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou wouldest not obey the voice of the LORD thy God.
63 And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.
64 And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
65 And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
66 And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:
67 In the morning thou shalt say, Would God it were even! and at even thou shalt say, Would God it were morning! for the fear of thine heart wherewith thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.
68 And the LORD shall bring thee into Egypt again with ships, by the way whereof I spake unto thee, Thou shalt see it no more again: and there ye shall be sold unto your enemies for bondmen and bondwomen, and no man shall buy you.

DEUTERONOMY 29:1-9
1 These are the words of the covenant, which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.
2 And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that the LORD did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;
3 The great temptations which thine eyes have seen, the signs, and those great miracles:
4 Yet the LORD hath not given you an heart to perceive, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
5 And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxen old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxen old upon thy foot.
6 Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink: that ye might know that I am the LORD your God.
7 And when ye came unto this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us unto battle, and we smote them:
8 And we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.
9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.

PROPHETS PORTION

ISAIAH 60:1-22
1 Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.
2 For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee.
3 And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising.
4 Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.
5 Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.
6 The multitude of camels shall cover thee, the dromedaries of Midian and Ephah; all they from Sheba shall come: they shall bring gold and incense; and they shall shew forth the praises of the LORD.
7 All the flocks of Kedar shall be gathered together unto thee, the rams of Nebaioth shall minister unto thee: they shall come up with acceptance on mine altar, and I will glorify the house of my glory.
8 Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?
9 Surely the isles shall wait for me, and the ships of Tarshish first, to bring thy sons from far, their silver and their gold with them, unto the name of the LORD thy God, and to the Holy One of Israel, because he hath glorified thee.
10 And the sons of strangers shall build up thy walls, and their kings shall minister unto thee: for in my wrath I smote thee, but in my favour have I had mercy on thee.
11 Therefore thy gates shall be open continually; they shall not be shut day nor night; that men may bring unto thee the forces of the Gentiles, and that their kings may be brought.
12 For the nation and kingdom that will not serve thee shall perish; yea, those nations shall be utterly wasted.
13 The glory of Lebanon shall come unto thee, the fir tree, the pine tree, and the box together, to beautify the place of my sanctuary; and I will make the place of my feet glorious.
14 The sons also of them that afflicted thee shall come bending unto thee; and all they that despised thee shall bow themselves down at the soles of thy feet; and they shall call thee, The city of the LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.
15 Whereas thou hast been forsaken and hated, so that no man went through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations.
16 Thou shalt also suck the milk of the Gentiles, and shalt suck the breast of kings: and thou shalt know that I the LORD am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob.
17 For brass I will bring gold, and for iron I will bring silver, and for wood brass, and for stones iron: I will also make thy officers peace, and thine exactors righteousness.
18 Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.
19 The sun shall be no more thy light by day; neither for brightness shall the moon give light unto thee: but the LORD shall be unto thee an everlasting light, and thy God thy glory.
20 Thy sun shall no more go down; neither shall thy moon withdraw itself: for the LORD shall be thine everlasting light, and the days of thy mourning shall be ended.
21 Thy people also shall be all righteous: they shall inherit the land for ever, the branch of my planting, the work of my hands, that I may be glorified.
22 A little one shall become a thousand, and a small one a strong nation: I the LORD will hasten it in his time.

NEW TESTAMENT PORTION

MATTHEW 13:1-23
1 The same day went Jesus out of the house, and sat by the sea side.
2 And great multitudes were gathered together unto him, so that he went into a ship, and sat; and the whole multitude stood on the shore.
3 And he spake many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow;
4 And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up:
5 Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth:
6 And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away.
7 And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them:
8 But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold.
9 Who hath ears to hear, let him hear.
10 And the disciples came, and said unto him, Why speakest thou unto them in parables?
11 He answered and said unto them, Because it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.
12 For whosoever hath, to him shall be given, and he shall have more abundance: but whosoever hath not, from him shall be taken away even that he hath.
13 Therefore speak I to them in parables: because they seeing see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand.
14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:
15 For this people’s heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see: and your ears, for they hear.
17 For verily I say unto you, That many prophets and righteous men have desired to see those things which ye see, and have not seen them; and to hear those things which ye hear, and have not heard them.
18 Hear ye therefore the parable of the sower.
19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side.
20 But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it;
21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.
22 He also that received seed among the thorns is he that heareth the word; and the care of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke the word, and he becometh unfruitful.
23 But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it; which also beareth fruit, and bringeth forth, some an hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.

LUKE 21:1-4
1 And he looked up, and saw the rich men casting their gifts into the treasury.
2 And he saw also a certain poor widow casting in thither two mites.
3 And he said, Of a truth I say unto you, that this poor widow hath cast in more than they all:
4 For all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God: but she of her penury hath cast in all the living that she had.

ACTS 28:17-31
17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the chief of the Jews together: and when they were come together, he said unto them, Men and brethren, though I have committed nothing against the people, or customs of our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans.
18 Who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of death in me.
19 But when the Jews spake against it, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had ought to accuse my nation of.
20 For this cause therefore have I called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because that for the hope of Israel I am bound with this chain.
21 And they said unto him, We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning thee, neither any of the brethren that came shewed or spake any harm of thee.
22 But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against.
23 And when they had appointed him a day, there came many to him into his lodging; to whom he expounded and testified the kingdom of God, persuading them concerning Jesus, both out of the law of Moses, and out of the prophets, from morning till evening.
24 And some believed the things which were spoken, and some believed not.
25 And when they agreed not among themselves, they departed, after that Paul had spoken one word, Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers,
26 Saying, Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive:
27 For the heart of this people is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.
28 Be it known therefore unto you, that the salvation of God is sent unto the Gentiles, and that they will hear it.
29 And when he had said these words, the Jews departed, and had great reasoning among themselves.
30 And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him,
31 Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.

ROMANS 11:1-15
1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.
2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel, saying,
3 Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.
4 But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.
5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded
8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.
11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?
13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.
15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?
