What is a cyclone? By The Associated Press JUNE 5,07

Cyclone is the name used for hurricanes in the Indian Ocean and Western Pacific. Gonu, like all storms in the northern hemisphere, spins counterclockwise. By contrast, because of the pull of the earth's rotation, storms in the southern hemisphere rotate clockwise. Since 2004, cyclones in the Indian Ocean have been named, the last part of the world to take up the practice. Names are chosen from a list of 64 submitted by eight countries in the region. Only nine of the names have been used in the last three years; generally, no more than five storms hit the northern Indian Ocean each year.Gonu, submitted by the Maldives, describes a thatched bag used to carry chickens, though the bags — and the word — are fairly rare these days.Sources: The Met Office, a weather tracking agency within the British Ministry of Defense.

Landslide damages famed valley in Russia By MANSUR MIROVALEV, Associated Press Writer Tue Jun 5, 7:16 AM ET

MOSCOW - A severe landslide has nearly obliterated one of Russia's most noted natural wonders, the Valley of Geysers, officials and environmental activists said Monday. The valley in the Kronotsky national reserve on the Far Eastern Kamchatka Peninsula contained about 90 geysers, as well as an array of thermal pools, and is the region's most popular tourist attraction.A snow-covered mound collapsed Sunday within seconds and caused a massive landslide, about a mile long and 600 feet wide, burying two-thirds of the valley, park ranger Valery Tsypkov said in televised remarks. The landslide dumped millions of cubic yards of mud and stones and destroyed most of the valley's geysers and dozens of thermal springs, stopping yards away from the valley's only hotel, he said.

Tourists and park personnel had to be evacuated, but no injuries were reported. The splendor of the valley has changed beyond recognition, Kronotsky national reserve director Natalya Radugova said in televised remarks. Some officials were more hopeful about the valley's future. The natural dam created by the landslide will turn the valley which was discovered only in 1941 into a thermal lake that could become a new tourist jewel of Russia, tourism official Denis Lazarev said, according to Russian news agencies.Experts feared many of the valley's geysers were obliterated. We witnessed a unique natural event, said Oleg Mitvol, the deputy head of Russia's environmental watchdog agency Rosprirodnadzor.

But the consequences of such a natural catastrophe are irreversible.A sparsely populated peninsula, Kamchatka is located some 4,200 miles from Moscow. It was completely closed to foreigners until 1990 and now attracts thousands of tourists annually with its volcanos, geysers and national parks. This is tragic for humankind, in that we have lost one of the great natural wonders of the world, Laura Williams of the World Wildlife Fund said in a statement posted on the group's Web site. But for nature, this is only a blip in the history of the planet's evolution.

Northern B.C. braces for more severe flooding
Last Updated: Tuesday, June 5, 2007 | 10:05 AM PT - CBC News

Several major rivers in northern B.C. are expected to rise to record-breaking levels in the next few days, says B.C.'s River Forecast Centre.

The warm temperatures and rain have seen the Skeena, Bulkley, Nass and Fraser rivers rise rapidly in the past few days. Many roads and back roads have already been washed out in the area, including parts of the Nisga'a Highway between Canyon City and Greenville.A city street in Terrace has also been flooded. An evacuation alert was issued Tuesday morning for Braun Island, New Remo and low-lying areas of Queensway and Dutch Valley all in the Terrace area.Residents are advised to prepare an emergency kit and be ready to leave on short notice.

More than 50 people had already left their homes near Terrace voluntarily as the Skeena River rises. Most families have now left the tiny community of Usk, as ferry service was suspended. The backup cable car service was also stopped because it was travelling less than three metres above the river, which is carrying huge trees and debris. Many residents of Old Remo and members of the Kitsales band had also left their homes because of road washouts. The Ministry of Transportation says it's keeping a close eye on sections of the main highway out of Terrace, where the Skeena has risen to the white line. The back road into Gitanyow [Kitwancool] was closed by flooding, and residents have been sandbagging the other road into the community. Some students in community were sent home from school early on Monday because of fears school buses would be stopped by flooded roads.

The Bulkley River has flooded farmers' fields and the golf course in Smithers. The low-lying Ebeneezer Flats-22nd Avenue Road along the river has been closed due to flooding. No evacuation order have been issued. But some families in the area along the river left their homes Monday voluntarily.

The Ksan First Nations museum near Hazelton had to sandbag its totem poles and truck out artifacts.Emergency officials in Prince George say the Fraser is still rising following heavy rain overnight, and the river is now at about 9.3 metres, which is just below flood level.Residents of three small riverside areas along the Fraser in Prince George are living in a locally declared state of emergency.Officials say the people living along River Road, Pulpmill Road, and Paddlewheel Park should be ready to move quickly if an evacuation order is issued.High water advisories have also been issued for Foreman Flats and the Shelley Townsite in the Prince George area.Officials say that by the weekend, the upper Fraser could reach its highest level since they began measuring back in the 1950s.

Meanwhile, Via Rail says the flooding in northwestern B.C. has made the Prince George-Prince Rupert rail line impassable.Crews are working on the problem.

OZONE DEPLETION

ISAIAH 30:26-27
26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.
27 Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:

MATTHEW 24:21-22,29
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened (Daylight hours shortened)
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:

REVELATION 16:7-9
7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

World warmer than average in year to May: UK Tue Jun 5, 8:11 AM ET

LONDON (Reuters) - The world was slightly warmer than average in the first four months of this year, but 2007 may not turn out to be the hottest on record, Britain's official weather forecaster said on Tuesday.

El Nino's lesser-known sister weather phenomenon, La Nina, could bring a cooling touch, the Meteorological Office said. The first four months of 2007 are on track with our global forecast for a warmer than average year, but the cool La Nina event developing in the equatorial Pacific could prevent 2007 from being the warmest-ever year, David Parker, a climate scientist at the Met Office said.La Nina, or the girl, which recurs every few years, is characterized by unusually cold ocean temperatures in the eastern Pacific Ocean around the Equator, which can affect weather around the globe.

The better known El Nino, or the boy, is characterized by unusually warm ocean temperatures in the Equatorial Pacific, according to the U.S.' National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. As the leaders of the rich industrialized countries meet in Germany this week to discuss climate change, among other global concerns, Met Office figures released on Tuesday show the mean global temperature for the period January to April was almost 0.5 degrees Celsius above the long term average.Data from Britain's leading climatologists also show the spring in Britain was the warmest since records began in 1914.

The UK mean spring temperature was 9.0 C, 0.2 degrees above the previous high set in 1945.The balmy UK spring follows one of the warmest recorded winters, and a run of record breaking years - the last five years are the warmest on record. The evidence supporting scientists warnings that high levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is warming up the planet is causing increasing public concern.According to a survey published on Tuesday by the Nielsen Company and Oxford University's Environmental Change Institute, public anxiety about climate change has risen dramatically over the last six months.

Sunday, May 20, 2007 - Prophecies of War

This past Sunday, about 10 ministers of the Israel government gathered in a Rav's home, all fan's of the Rav whom has predicted prophecies in the past that have come to fruitation. He predicated in the past that Sharon will have brain damage and will not finish his PM term. He also foresaw how the political struggle will end. This past Sunday, the Rav said an extremely frightening forecast, Within a month till 3 months, there will be a war, said the Rav, It will be a very difficult war. He turned to one of the ministers and told him to tell PM olmert, Tell Olmert to return the gas mask to all citizens, immediately.

The minister who spoke to his friends about this was agitated from the predictions. It left a deep impression on all of them that the Rav's words are true. This prophecy made a deep impression on the government and tomorrow, the govenment will send out Order 8. Order 8 is emergency call up for war for IDF military reserve soldiers. Before Shavuot last year, Sara Imenu, a'h, told me via a dream that Moshiach arrival is very connected to Gaza (AKA Gush Katif) and the war will start from there.

Bush bashes Putin on democracy on eve of G8 summit By Madeline Chambers and Louis Charbonneau JUNE 5,07

HEILIGENDAMM, Ger (Reu) U.S. President George W. Bush criticized Russia on
democracy on Tuesday but sought to calm President Vladimir Putin's anger over U.S. missile shield plans on the eve of a G8 summit in Germany.

Speaking in Prague before heading to the Baltic coast resort of Heiligendamm for the meeting of major powers, Bush said Putin had nothing to fear from the shield, calling it a purely defensive measure.Russia is not our enemy, Bush said after meeting Czech leaders on a visit aimed at highlighting the country's emergence from Soviet domination. He said he would urge Putin at the summit to cooperate with the U.S. plan to deploy a radar system in the Czech Republic and interceptor missiles in Poland, but later in a speech took a dig at Moscow's record on democracy. In Russia reforms that once promised to empower citizens have been derailed, with troubling implications for democratic development, Bush said.

His comments are part of an escalating war of words between the former Cold War rivals which the German hosts fear could overshadow the June 6-8 summit of the so-called Group of Eight -- Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States.Putin has said if Washington pushes ahead with its plans to deploy the missile system, Russia will revert to targeting its missiles on Europe as it did during the Cold War.The two powers are also at odds on the fate of breakaway Serbian province Kosovo, with Washington backing independence and Moscow supporting Belgrade's efforts to prevent autonomy at all costs.

MOVEMENT ON CLIMATE

On global warming, another contentious issue where the Europeans have clashed frequently with Washington, it appeared leaders would make progress on goals to negotiate a follow-up to the Kyoto Protocol which Washington shunned in 2001.New climate change proposals from Bush last week had sowed fears in Europe that Washington would go outside the well-established United Nations process to curb greenhouse gas emissions. But James Connaughton, a senior climate adviser to Bush, said in Berlin the he was confident major powers could agree how to create a new framework for combating global warming after 2012, when the first period of Kyoto expires. It was never anyone's intention to have a separate process. The U.S. is a party to the U.N.'s framework convention on climate change.

That is the forum where we would take action together on climate change, Connaughton said.A German official told reporters in Berlin after a meeting of sherpas the chief negotiators from G8 countries -- that it was possible to combine Bush's plan with the U.N. track.

But he said there had been no agreement on specific climate change goals, including Merkel's call for a goal of reducing global CO2 emissions by 50 percent by 2050.There's still time before the summit, he said. We're still talking.Informal meetings of the world's top industrial powers date back to 1975, when the G6 gathered in Rambouillet, France, to coordinate economic policy following a global oil crisis and the collapse of the Bretton Woods system of fixed exchange rates. Canada joined the club in 1976 and Russia in 1998.In Heiligendamm, the leaders will discuss foreign policy issues including Iran's nuclear program, Middle East peace, Sudan and Kosovo. The German hosts are also aiming to secure new G8 pledges on development aid and AIDS funding for Africa. Security was high in the areas surrounding the Kempinski Grand Hotel, where the leaders will meet, with green German police cars swarming along the small winding roads that surround the beachside resort. Some 16,000 security personnel are in area for the summit and leaders will be sheltered from thousands of demonstrators by a 12-kilometre (7.5 mile) fence topped with barbed wire. Almost 1,000 people were injured on Saturday when violence broke out at an anti-G8 protest in the nearby city of Rostock.

About 400 protesters with anti-G8 signs tried to block one of the road exits from Rostock airport on Tuesday evening shortly before Bush landed. (Additional reporting by Tabassum Zakaria and Jan Lopatka in Prague, Erik Kirschbaum in Rostock)

PREMEDITATED MERGER Military positioned to launch action Рhere. Columnist's expos̩ reveals planning for 'domestic emergencies' June 5, 2007 - 2007 WorldNetDaily.com

The United States military is being positioned to be put into action under presidential authority in any one of a dozen scenarios within the United States – including natural disasters, epidemics, terrorist attacks, insurrections, or domestic violence including conspiracies, according to a report from WND columnist Jerome R. Corsi. He has concluded that under the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, the military of the United States and Canada are turning NORTHCOMM into a domestic military command structure, with authority extending to Mexico, even though Mexico has not formally joined with the current United States-Canadian NORTHCOM command structure.

President Bush. President Bush appears to have positioned the U.S. military and the National Guard acting under presidential authority to intervene in a wide range of domestic incidents that could occur anywhere in North America, he wrote.

He cited a number of developments, including the 2002 order establishing NORTHCOM as response for homeland defense of the U.S., Canada, Mexico and parts of the Caribbean and some Atlantic and Pacific waters. That organization already controls the North American Aerospace Defense Command, a joint U.S.-Canadian effort, he said. Secondly, section 1076 of the John Warner Defense Appropriation Act for Fiscal Year 2007 grants the president the right to commandeer federal troops or state National Guard to use them domestically, he noted. And as WND has reported, the new National Security (NSPD-51) and Homeland Security (HSPD-20) Presidential Directives signed May 6 give the president unprecedented, almost dictatorial, powers should the president declare a national emergency. The columnist noted such a combination of provisions would allow President Bush to mobilize for a variety of events – such as a hurricane.

He said under USNORTHCOM, the U.S. command center, a number of exercises and operations already have been carried out, including ARDENT SENTRY – NORTHERN EDGE, VIGILANT GUARD, ALASKA SHIELD and others.

An exercise that finished just a few weeks ago included the Canada Command as a full partner and was the largest exercise to date in terms of the number of personnel, the length of the drill, the cost and the complexity of the exercise series. The exercise took place in New England, Alaska, as well as Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana, with cross-border deployments staged in the Indiana part of the exercise, he wrote. Gen. Victor E. Renuart, commander of NORAD and USNORTHCOM, recently told the media the exercise allowed us to validate the incredible amount of planning that has gone on since Hurricane Katrina, not only to respond to things like a hurricane, but also to ensure that the agencies responsible for homeland security and homeland defense really can work together under a series of demanding scenarios.WND also has reported that KBR, formerly a Halliburton subsidiary, has in place a $385 million Department of Homeland Security contract to build on a contingency basis detention facilities that could be utilized for domestic emergencies, including sudden mass immigration across our southern border.

Iran's president says it is too late to stop Iran's nuclear program
Tue Jun 5, 11:56 AM

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) - President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad says it's too late to stop Iran's nuclear program. He is urging the West and the U.S. to abandon their arrogant policies of setting conditions. Ahmadinejad says despite pressure, Iran has only become stronger. The Iranian president also appeared to dismiss ambitions of using the controversial nuclear program for weapons making. What is atomic bomb good for? Thoughts can't be changed by nuclear bomb. Today is the day of thought and logic, he said. Washington and some of its allies fear Iran is trying to develop atomic weapons in violation of its commitments under the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty.

Iran denies the accusations and says the treaty gives it the right to pursue uranium enrichment for peaceful purposes. The UN Security Council first imposed sanctions on Iran in December and modestly increased them in March over Iran's refusal to suspend enrichment. The council is now preparing to debate on a third round of punitive measures. An International Atomic Energy Agency report last month provided the potential trigger for another round of sanctions by saying Tehran continued to defy the Security Council ban on enrichment and was instead expanding its activities.

Three mild earthquakes shake NH coast JUN 4,07

EXETER, N.H. - After people called 911 to report hearing explosions, emergency officials initially thought there had been underground methane gas blasts. But it turns out that New Hampshire actually had three small earthquakes over the weekend. The tremors caused no damage or injuries. The state Emergency Management Agency said the quakes were felt Saturday night and Sunday afternoon in the Portsmouth-Exeter area. The U.S. Geological Survey listed two of the quakes as magnitudes 1.4 and 1.9. A magnitude for the third quake was not available.Initially, officials investigated whether the sounds and tremors were caused by underground methane gas explosions, and the naturally occurring gas was found escaping from the ground in Portsmouth on Saturday.

However, authorities were able to rule that out as the cause, Assistant Fire Chief Steven Achilles said. He said the methane gas discovery was either a coincidence or a result of the tremors.New Hampshire experiences an average of three to four earthquakes per year, most of them so minor they aren't even felt, said Jim Van Dongen, spokesman for the state Office of Emergency Management.

Thousands displaced by China quake By ANITA CHANG, Associated Press Writer
Mon Jun 4, 3:39 AM ET

BEIJING - Tens of thousands of earthquake victims in southwest China were living in tents or in the open Monday, fearful of returning to their damaged homes a day after a magnitude 6.4 quake killed three and injured at least 300. Hundreds of aftershocks sent jittery residents scurrying for safety.

We worry so much about the aftershocks. This morning we had one, and we hid anyplace we could think of, said Cai Zhongting, who was living with his family in a tent. The quake struck near China's border with Laos shortly after 5:30 a.m. Sunday, said China's official Xinhua News Agency, citing the government's seismological bureau. The U.S. Geological Survey measured the quake's magnitude at 6.2.The dead included a 4-year-old boy who was sleeping with his mother when the mud walls of their home collapsed, burying them, Xinhua said. The mother was later rescued.Xinhua, citing a provincial civil affairs spokesman, said 120,000 people had been forced to leave their homes.

About 20,000 to 30,000 of them were living in tents, some marked disaster relief, because the earthquake cracked walls in many buildings and made them unsafe to enter, said a man at the Ning'er County Seismological Bureau, who gave only his surname, Ma.Another official from the seismological bureau, who identified himself by his surname, Ye, said others were living without shelter because of a shortage of tents. He said more tents were being sent from other areas.Ma said the local government was providing food and water to displaced residents, although Cai said he and his family his wife, 11-year-old daughter and three grandparents had to scrounge for supplies themselves in hot, mosquito-infested accommodations. Some businesses opened Monday, including a branch of the Agricultural Bank of China, which was running on generators and providing food and water to six employees, including Cai, who spoke to The Associated Press from the bank.More than 300 aftershocks had been recorded by the local seismic bureau, Xinhua reported, including one with a magnitude of 5.1.

Ning'er lies in a quake-prone mountainous region in Yunnan province about 90 miles north of Laos, and is famous for its strong tea, known as Pu'er. For centuries, the area sat astride an important trade route for tea and horses that ran along western China between central Asia and southeastern Asia.

From 2001 to 2006, Yunnan recorded 27 earthquakes with magnitudes of at least 5.0, Xinhua said.In 1988, a magnitude 7.1 quake in Yunnan near the border with Myanmar killed more than 930 people. More than 15,000 people died after a magnitude 7.7 earthquake in the province in 1970.

Barry helps tame wildfires in Ga., Fla. Sun Jun 3, 9:26 PM ET

WAYCROSS, Ga. - Tropical Storm Barry and its remnants gave a much-needed soaking to thousands of acres of burning swamp and timberland in northern Florida and southeastern Georgia.

The remains of the storm rode up the East Coast Sunday with gusty winds and rain falling as far north as Upstate New York, according to Weather Underground, a commercial weather service.Wind gusts along the coast were measured at 44 mph on Cape Fear in southern North Carolina and heavy rain was noted throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic coasts, Weather Underground reported.By Sunday afternoon, Mount Vernon, Ga., received 8 inches of rain from the storm, West Palm Beach, Fla., had 7 inches and Hardeeville, S.C., saw more than 6 inches, according to the National Hurricane Center. Most areas across the Southeast received smaller amounts.Barry, which weakened to a depression Saturday morning, was a tremendous help to a thirsty Southeast. But residents living near Georgia's fires should not be complacent, said Larry Morris with the joint information center in Waycross.

It's still a live fire. Contained does not mean controlled, and it does not mean extinguished, Morris said.Morris estimates that the fire, which crews have battled for more than a month, is now about 85 percent contained. The rain was not enough to put out the blazes, but officials said the moist conditions allowed firefighters to focus on hot spots spared by the rain and on areas that are already beginning to dry out and could potentially catch fire again. Two large fires have charred more than 600,000 acres, or roughly 937 square miles, of swamp and timberland since a tree fell on a power line south of Waycross on April 16 and then a lightning strike inside the Okefenokee Swamp on May 5 ignited the second blaze. The fires destroyed about 30 homes and prompted several evacuations, which had all been lifted by Sunday. The Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and the part of the Osceola National Forest north of Interstate 10 remained closed Sunday.

Iranian Leader: Countdown to Israel's Destruction Has Begun
by Ezra HaLevi (INN) JUN 5,07

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said Sunday the countdown to Israels destruction has begun. Ahmadinejad said that Hizbullah began the countdown in its war with the IDF last summer. With Allahs help, the countdown button to this regimes [Israel's] destruction has been pushed by the hands of Lebanon and Palestines children, he said in a speech to foreign guests in Tehran in honor of the 18th anniversary of the death of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, Irans first Supreme Leader. By Allah's will, we will witness the destruction of this regime in the near future thanks to the endeavors of Palestinian and Lebanese fighters.Ahmadinejads previous statement, regarding Israel being wiped off the map, was a quote of Khomeini.

Supreme Leader Promises Iran Wont Back Down

Irans Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khameini declared Monday that Iran refuses to beg world powers for its right to develop nuclear technology and has demonstrated that it will not retreat from the field of danger and will protect those rights. The world has learned from experience that an Iranian will never step back from the field of danger when defending his rights, Khameini said during a televised address Monday.

Assad Hope For United War

Ahmadinejad spoke with Syrian president Bashar Assad this past week, during which Assad is reported, by Irans state-run news agency, to have said that added coordination between Iran and Syria in confrontation with the Zionist regime and the USA can bear better results in the future. The Iranian president congratulated Assad on his reelection. Assad ran unopposed and won 97% of the vote.

American-Iranians Imprisoned by Iran

Iran has imprisoned four American citizens: Haleh Esfandiari, Parnaz Azima, Kian Tajbakhsh and Ali Shakeri. Esfandiari, a professor, was visiting relatives in Iran, where she is from, when she was arrested. She has now been charged with trying to topple the government. It was reported that Esfandiaris husband is Jewish. US President George W. Bush has condemned the arrests and issued a demand Friday that Iran release the captives. These individuals have dedicated themselves to building bridges between the American and Iranian people, a goal the Iranian regime claims to support, Bush said. Their presence in Iran - to visit their parents or to conduct humanitarian work - poses no threat. Indeed, their activities are typical of the abiding ties that Iranian-Americans have with their land of origin.

New Iranian TV Series Outlines Ahmadinejads European Israel Idea

Irans state-run television has begun airing a docu-drama series outlining Ahmadinejads view that the Jews were given Israel due to the Holocaust, and that Europe must create a state of Israel on its own soil instead of on land belonging to the Arabs. The series, A Zero Degree Turn is aired weekly at prime time and six out of 22 chapters have aired. The plot focuses on the idea of emigration to Israel being conceived by Nazis, Europeans and non-traditional Jews featuring a central rabbinic character rejecting a call to move to the Holy Land. External pressures are trying to settle the Jews and the Muslims together, and it is impossible, the rabbi in the series says. The Jewish fate has always been complicated and difficult. The solution is not emigration to Arab countries, where there are Arab citizens.Any mention of Jewish immigration and hassidic sects that made Aliyah (immigrated to Israel) before World War II were omitted.

Iran counters Western nuclear demands By NASSER KARIMI, Associated Press Writer Sun Jun 3, 1:21 PM ET

TEHRAN, Iran - Iran said Sunday it would work to settle disputes over its atomic program if its case went back to the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency a stance far from Western demands that it suspend uranium enrichment. Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said Iran could agree to settle outstanding issues with the International Atomic Energy Agency, but only if the U.N. Security Council turned the country's nuclear file over to the U.N. watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and dropped preparations to debate further sanctions. The news comes days after an official in Spain said Iran had pledged to end years of stonewalling and provide answers about past suspicious nuclear activities to the IAEA.If Iran was to follow through on that pledge, it could help the IAEA wrap up years of efforts to establish whether Iran's past nuclear strivings were exclusively peaceful in nature as Iran insists.

But Hosseini's comments and the offer, which Iran's top nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani made to the EU's foreign policy chief, Javier Solana, during talks in Madrid last week, fell short of Security Council's demands that Iran freeze uranium enrichment. The Security Council first imposed sanctions on Iran in December and modestly increased them in March over Iran's refusal to suspend enrichment. The council is now preparing to debate more punitive measures. All should know that the possible third resolution on sanctions, and more restrictions on Iran will not dissuade us from our way, Hosseini said.Iran's ultimate stated goal is running 54,000 centrifuges to churn out enriched uranium for what it says is power generation. But the U.S. and Israel accuse Iran of seeking to use the technology to develop nuclear weapons. Also Sunday, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad lashed out at Iran's regional enemy and U.S. ally, Israel, saying the world would witness the Jewish state's destruction soon.

God willing, in the near future we will witness the destruction of the corrupt occupier regime, Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying by the state-run news agency, IRNA.Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman Mark Regev responded Sunday: Ahmadinejad offers only death and destruction. Today he is the most serious challenge to regional peace and security,In October 2005, Ahmadinejad caused international outrage when he said in a speech that Israel's Zionist regime should be wiped off the map. Ahmadinejad's supporters have argued that his words were mistranslated and should have been translated from Farsi to English as saying Israel would vanish from the pages of time, implying it would vanish on its own rather be destroyed. In an interview with U.S.-based ABC television earlier this year, Ahmadinejad, who also has called the Holocaust a myth, compared Israel to the Soviet Union, saying, What happened to the former Soviet Union? It disappeared, disappeared from the face of the Earth. Was it because of war? No. It was through the decision of the people.Iran also had harsh words for President Bush on Sunday, saying the American leader was intervening in the country's domestic affairs when he demanded the release of four Iranian-Americans detained on allegations of espionage.

NUCLEAR WEAPONS WILL BE USED.

ISAIAH 26:21
21 For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.(WW3,1/2 earths population die).

ISAIAH 13:6-13 KJV
6 Howl ye; for the day of the LORD is at hand; it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
7 Therefore shall all hands be faint, and every man's heart shall melt:(FROM FRIGHT)
8 And they shall be afraid: pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them; they shall be in pain as a woman that travaileth: they shall be amazed one at another; their faces shall be as flames.
9 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12 I will make a man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir.
13 Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger.

ISAIAH 24:17-23 KJV
17 Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth.
18 And it shall come to pass, that he who fleeth from the noise of the fear shall fall into the pit; and he that cometh up out of the midst of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for the windows from on high are open, and the foundations of the earth do shake.
19 The earth is utterly broken down, the earth is clean dissolved, the earth is moved exceedingly.
20 The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.
21 And it shall come to pass in that day, that the LORD shall punish the host of the high ones that are on high, and the kings of the earth upon the earth.
22 And they shall be gathered together, as prisoners are gathered in the pit, and shall be shut up in the prison, and after many days shall they be visited.

13 And it shall come to pass in that day, that a great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.

EZEKIEL 20:47
47 And say to the forest of the south, Hear the word of the LORD; Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I will kindle a fire in thee, and it shall devour every green tree in thee, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burned therein.

ZEPHANIAH 1:18
18 Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the LORD'S wrath; but the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy: for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land.

NUCLEAR WAR-FEAR
Russian atomic stockpile at risk of uncontrolled chain reaction
Predicted worst-case explosion will at least, at a careful estimate, hit Northern Europe June 2, 2007 - 6:15 p.m. Eastern - 2007 WorldNetDaily.com

Scientists from a Norwegian environmental group say they have obtained a leaked report by the Russian government's highest nuclear authority warning of imminent risk of explosion in the enormous tanks holding discarded submarine fuel rods at its Andreeva Bay facility on the Arctic Ocean. According to the Rosatom report, obtained by researchers at Bellona, an environmental group that has monitored the Russian site near the year-around ice-free naval port of Murmansk for evidence of leakage from radioactive wastes, three large cement tanks, built to house used fuel rods that began leaking in 1982, have begun to deteriorate due to cold and contact with seawater, creating conditions that could lead to an explosion. Andreeva Bay, on the Kola peninsula of north-western Russia, is the nation's primary spent-nuclear-fuel and radioactive-waste storage facility for its Northern Fleet. Currently, the facility holds 21,000 spent-nuclear-fuel assemblies and about 12,000 cubic meters of solid and liquid radioactive wastes. Whereas uranium used in civilian nuclear plants is normally enriched to only three percent, Russian military uranium is often enriched to levels between 20 and 40 percent, the Scotsman newspaper reported, making the fuel rods at Andreeva Bay particularly toxic.

Unlike the U.S., the former Soviet Union made no plans for the eventual dismantling of its nuclear fleet and the safe management of radioactive wastes. Soviet military doctrine emphasized numbers, so relatively few older submarines were retired as newer ones entered service. The cost of clean up at the massive site has been estimated at $1.5 billion dollars, a number that prompted one Bellona physicist to tell Norway's Aftenposten newspaper, Russia will never do this.Fuel-storage tank at Andreeva Bay (Courtesy of the Bellona Foundation) The present problem arises from cracks in the concrete structures, meant only to be a short-term solution when constructed in the 1980s, that have let seawater into the large containment vessels in which the fuel rods hang from the ceilings, contained in pipes. Cold, salt and condensation, as well as fuel-rod failure, have caused the radioactive assemblies to corrode and hot materials to slough off and fall to the bottoms of the metal pipes. The conclusion of Rosatom is that when the amount of particles on the bottom reaches five to 10 percent in relation to the amount of water, potentially explosive critical mass will occur, said Igor Kudrik, one of the translators of the Russian agency's report. Open storage of spent nuclear fuel in casks at Andreeva Bay (Courtesy of the Bellona Foundation)

According to the Rosatom report, what will occur will be an uncontrolled chain reaction the nuclear material will go critical. The chain reaction would generate enormous heat which could release hydrogen from the invading seawater, resulting in an explosion that could affect other fuel rods, breach the concrete chambers and release radioactive material into the air. In the best case a small, limited explosion in just one of the stored rods can lead to radioactive contamination in a [three-mile] radius. In the worst case, such a single explosion could cause the entire tank facility to explode. We have no calculations for what that could lead to, Bellona's Aleksandr Nikitin, a former Russian naval officer, told Aftenposten. It will at least, at a careful estimate, hit Northern Europe. There are enormous amounts of radioactivity stored in these tanks, said Nils Bøhmer, nuclear physicist and head of Bellona's Russian division. The radioactive fallout could be higher and affect northern Europe to a greater degree than the region hit by the Chernobyl disaster.John Large, an independent British nuclear consultant who has visited the Andreeva Bay facility several times, also warned of a Chernobyl-type event. This wouldn't be a thermonuclear or atomic explosion as in a bomb, but the outcome is just as bad, he told the Scotsman. Remember Chernobyl? Well if you had the right weather conditions, the right wind pattern, this would mean a radioactive cloud drifting over Scotland and the rest of the UK.Despite the leaked report, a spokesman for Rosatom denied there was a threat to the public from the storage tanks. The objects are being kept in such a way that there's no danger of an explosion or an uncontrolled chain reaction, he said.

The Norwegian Nuclear Protection Authority agreed a chain reaction at Andreeva Bay was possible but insisted the likelihood was extremely small. But Large, who helped salvage radioactive material from the Russian submarine Kursk, which sank in the Barents sea in 2000, said the conditions at Andreeva Bay are typical of the way Russia has managed its nuclear wastes. This is what happens when a superpower decays – people in Britain talk about what to do with our nuclear waste, but what should concern us far more is the way the Russians are dealing with theirs, he said. In July 1993, almost 4 pounds of uranium, enriched to 36 percent, was stolen from Andreeva. The material was recovered one month later. We are sitting on a powder keg with a fuse that is burning, but we don't know how long that fuse is, said Nikitin.

24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise:(10 NATIONS) and another shall rise after them;(#11 SPAIN) and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.(BE HEAD OF 3 KINGS OR NATIONS).

WHAT ON EARTH IS BUSH DOING NOT MOVING THE US EMBASSY TO JERUSALEM.

Bush Again Delays Embassy Move to Jerusalem
18 Sivan 5767, June 4, '07

(IsraelNN.com) American President George W. Bush has again exercised a built-in legal waiver in a 1995 Congressional law ordering that the American embassy be moved to Israel. He signed the order on Friday night, after news organizations shut down most of their operations and after the Jewish Sabbath began. He and previous Presidents have exercised the waiver every six months, and this time it came days before Congress is likely to pass a toughly worded resolution reinforcing their will that the embassy be moved to the Israeli capital, as President Bush promised to do during his 2000 presidential campaign. The waiver allows the President to delay the move if he deems it necessary to protect the national security interests of the United States. President Bush added that he remains committed to beginning the process of moving our embassy to Jerusalem.

Kevorkian out of jail; his views unchanged
Saturday, June 02, 2007 - By Kathy Barks Hoffman, The Associated Press

COLDWATER, Mich. -- Jack Kevorkian had few words but a broad smile as he walked out of prison yesterday, ending eight years behind bars for helping end the life of a man suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease. The retired pathologist known as Dr. Death said his release felt wonderful one of the high points in life, as he paused near a van that was waiting to drive him to the home of friends in suburban Detroit.Outside a gift shop across from the 25-acre prison grounds, about a dozen people stood in a show of support. The group held signs bearing such phrases as Jack, we're glad you're out of the box and Dr. K is on his way! The attention focused on a man who claimed participation in at least 130 assisted suicides brought a rebuke from the Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit. For 10 years, Jack Kevorkian's actions resembled those of a pathological serial killer. It will be truly regrettable if he's now treated as a celebrity parolee, instead of the convicted murderer he is, archdiocese spokesman Ned McGrath said in a statement. The 79-year-old Dr. Kevorkian, wearing his trademark blue cardigan and a striped shirt and tie, spoke only a few words to reporters after leaving the prison with his lawyers and legal assistants.

As he got ready for the ride home, 60 Minutes correspondent Mike Wallace, 89, got out of the van and embraced him, asking, What do you say, young man? Dr. Kevorkian is to appear in a 60 Minutes segment Sunday.Inmates at the Lakeland Correctional Facility, about 100 miles southwest of Detroit, had been waiting for a glimpse of Dr. Kevorkian, while reporters greeted him on the outside with questions.Attorney Mayer Morganroth said his client planned a news conference Tuesday. He thanks everybody for coming. He thanks the thousands who have supported him, have written to him, Mr. Morganroth said. He just wants a little privacy for the next few days.Throughout the 1990s, Dr. Kevorkian challenged authorities to make his actions legal or try to stop him. He burned state orders against him and showed up at court in costume. You think I'm going to obey the law? You're crazy, he said in 1998, shortly before he was accused -- and then convicted -- of murder after injecting lethal drugs into Thomas Youk, 52, a suburban Detroit man suffering from Lou Gehrig's disease.

Dr. Kevorkian videotaped that death and sent the footage to 60 Minutes, which aired it. He challenged prosecutors to charge him. He was convicted and given a 10- to 25-year sentence for second-degree murder. He earned time off his sentence for good behavior.A copy of his parole notice showed that he must pay a $600 supervision fee and a crime-victim assessment of $60. The order listed his height as 5-foot-8 and his weight as 125 pounds.Dr. Kevorkian is expected to move to Bloomfield Hills, just outside Detroit, where he will live with friends and resume the artistic and musical hobbies he missed while in prison. His lawyer and friends have said he plans to live on a small pension and Social Security while doing some writing and making some speeches.Dr. Kevorkian has promised never to help in another assisted suicide. But Ruth Holmes, who has worked as his legal assistant and handled his correspondence while he was in prison, said his views on the subject have not changed. This should be a matter that is handled as a fundamental human right that is between the patient, the doctor, his family and his God, Ms. Holmes said of Dr. Kevorkian's beliefs.

Geoffrey Fieger, Dr. Kevorkian's former attorney, yesterday said he expects Dr. Kevorkian will spend his time enjoying his freedom, even though he will be on parole until June 1, 2009.He's on a short leash for the next two years, Mr. Fieger said. They can pretty much control his behavior. After that, it will be another story. After two years, he no longer is going to be under their thumb as he is now.Mr. Fieger said that once Dr. Kevorkian is off parole, he should continue assisting people who want to commit suicide. One of the conditions of Dr. Kevorkian's parole is that he cannot help anyone else die. He is also forbidden to provide care for anyone older than 62, or who is disabled. He could go back to prison if he violates his parole.Dr. Kevorkian must report regularly to a parole officer and cannot leave the state without permission. He can speak about assisted suicide, but can't publish anything that shows how to make a device like the machine he devised to give lethal drugs, according to his parole order.Dr. Kevorkian suffers from a variety of ailments, including diabetes, hepatitis C, high blood pressure and hardening of the arteries in his brain. He will see his internist and a dentist, as well as some specialists, Mr. Morganroth said.Dr. Kevorkian did not have much to take with him from prison, in part because many of his possessions were missing. Mr. Morganroth said a manuscript and other belongings were stolen last month. He suspected that someone took Dr. Kevorkian's clothes and medicine to sell on eBay.Ms. Holmes, a close friend of Dr. Kevorkian's, said he will want to enjoy some of the things he could not freely get in prison, such as a sandwich of plain sliced turkey on thin lavash bread. He's looking forward to some grapes and apricots, she said.

Plot Shows Dangers of Mundane Targets
By TOM HAYS - Monday, June 04, 2007

The grounds of John F. Kennedy International Airport is seen in New York, Saturday, June 2, 2007. A suspected terrorist cell planned a chilling attack to destroy John F. Kennedy International Airport, kill thousands of people and trigger an economic catastrophe by blowing up a jet fuel artery that runs through populous residential neighborhoods, authorities said Saturday. (AP Photo/Seth Wenig) NEW YORK - Until a suspected terrorist plot was revealed, few people even knew there was a pipeline of highly combustible jet fuel snaking beneath the nation's largest city.

But authorities said Monday that it's one of countless lesser-known targets including waterway retaining walls, dingy rail yards and tunnel ventilation systems that they struggle to protect from attacks.New York police spend considerable time and resources protecting the landmarks nearly everyone would recognize as emblematic of New York and America, Police Commissioner Raymond Kelly said. But we also protect the anonymous, unheralded elements of infrastructure that are essential to the life of the city.Police were aware that the fuel system feeding John F. Kennedy International Airport posed a risk well before investigators unearthed an alleged conspiracy by a homegrown Muslim terror cell to blow it up, with the goal of killing thousands of people and inflicting major damage on the U.S. economy.

Pipeline networks don't carry the stature of sites such as Wall Street, the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty, so the general public doesn't give them much notice. But, said Kelly McCann, president of Kroll Security Group and a former Marine officer assigned to counterterrorism duty, said authorities think about them every day. They're fully focused on them and feeling overwhelmed. For example, the NYPD has monitored the hulking ventilation towers along the Hudson River that feed fresh air to the Lincoln and Holland tunnels for signs of a chemical attack. Tens of thousands of cars pass through the tunnels each day, and they are usually filled with bumper-to-bumper traffic during rush hours. If a nefarious substance got in the tunnel, it could be devastating. The NYPD has also quietly used its scuba unit to inspect retaining walls on the East River near the United Nations for any signs of underwater mines. In addition, officers have sought to secure rail yards, fearing that terrorists might try to tamper with rail cars carrying dangerous chemicals through the city.Past investigations have foiled a separate scheme to flood the Wall Street area by breaching a retaining wall at the World Trade Center site, along with a homegrown plot to blow up the busy Herald Square subway station in midtown Manhattan.

Investigators in the 2004 train bombing in Madrid also discovered a crude diagram of Grand Central Terminal on a computer disk seized from one of the suspect's homes. The pipeline system targeted by the suspects in the latest case is huge, winding its way through all corners of the city. It is part of a national pipeline network run by Buckeye Partners LP that serves major airports in New York, Chicago, Detroit, and Pennsylvania, among other locations. The network also delivers jet fuel to military bases. In a criminal complaint outlining the allegations, one suspect is quoted as saying he hoped it would cause greater destruction than in the Sept. 11 attacks, torching the airport, killing several thousand people and destroying parts of New York's borough of Queens, where the pipeline route is marked by warning signs.

The accused mastermind of the plot, Russell Defreitas, 63, was in custody Monday in New York, where he is due to have a bail hearing Wednesday. Two other suspects, Kareem Ibrahim and Abdul Kadir, a former member of Guyana's Parliament, were in Trinidad and planned to fight extradition to the United States. The two made their initial court appearance Monday on one count each of conspiracy to commit a terrorist act against the government of the United States. The judge set a bail hearing for June 11 and an extradition hearing Aug. 2.Fuel tanks are seen at JFK International Airport in New York Sunday, June 3, 2007. Authorities announced Saturday, June 2, 2007 they had broken up a suspected Muslim terrorist cell to blow up the airport, its fuel tanks and a jet fuel artery, arresting three men, one of them a former member of Guyana's parliament. A fourth man was being sought in Trinidad as part of the plot that authorities said they had been tracking for more than a year and was foiled in the planning stages. (AP Photo/David Karp) Authorities in Trinidad are seeking a fourth suspect, Abdel Nur.

Also Monday, a law enforcement official confirmed reports that the suspects had been captured on tape discussing trying to recruit Adnan Gulshair El Shukrijumah, an alleged al-Qaida member and bombmaker. The suspects allegedly sought support from fellow extremists in Trinidad and Guyana, where El Shukrijumah grew up.But there was no evidence that the men ever made contact with El Shukrijumah, said the official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because the investigation had not been completed.Authorities and experts agree that the scheme like the recent plot to attack a military base in New Jersey was another case of the suspects' ambitions far exceeding their capabilities. The pipeline was designed to shut off when it detects heat, a feature that would have prevented the chain-reaction explosion that the plotters allegedly envisioned, authorities said. And it would have been virtually impossible to get inside the airport to do the kind of damage they planned.

An approaching aircraft flies overhead past a marker indicating the route of the jet fuel pipeline supplying JFK airport near 157 Ave. and 99th St. in the residential neighborhood of Howard Beach, Queens, N.Y. on Sunday, June 3, 2007. The lengthy pipeline was installed decades ago to replace barge deliveries of jet fuel. (AP Photo/Rick Maiman) Even if the suspects had succeeded in detonating a bomb, McCann said, there would have been some damage and it would have been terrible. But would the whole thing have gone up? No.A service of the Associated Press(AP)

China earthquake injures 300, 3 dead: Xinhua By Nick Macfie
Sun Jun 3, 11:25 AM ET

BEIJING (Reuters) - An earthquake hit a tea-making city in southwest China on Sunday, bringing down houses and killing at least three people, one a 4-year-old, and injuring 300, Xinhua news agency said. The quake shook the city of Pu'er and the surrounding area in mountainous Yunnan province in the early morning when most people were asleep, the agency said. It was followed by 55 aftershocks.

Tremors were felt 200 km (120 miles) away to the north and south. The dead included a 4-year-old boy, who was sleeping with his mother when the earth-built walls of their house collapsed in the quake and buried him and half of the body of his mother, Xinhua said. The mother was rescued but the boy was killed.Xinhua earlier told a Hong Kong television station a 4-year-old girl was among the dead. It was not clear if the two child victims were one and the same.Power was cut to the city and the only communications possible were by mobile phone, a local official said. The quake forced the evacuation of 120,000 residents, Xinhua quoted a provincial civil affairs department official as saying.

Some mostly mud-and-brick houses had collapsed and roads were destroyed, state TV said. Water and power supplies were damaged. The quake hit at 5:34 a.m. (2134 GMT Saturday) and one Pu'er office worker named Li said it had woken her in her fifth-floor apartment.I tried to get up but the tremor was too strong. It cracked the window panes, she told Reuters. She was called to her office, where she saw soldiers and armed police rushing down the street as rescue operations began.

President Hu Jintao, Premier Wen Jiabao and Vice-Premier Hui Liangyu had asked provincial government officials to mobilize all resources available to treat the injured and minimize the loss of lives and property, Xinhua said.Coal mines in the area were ordered to suspend operations and evacuate all workers.

The Pu'er city government had allocated 1 million yuan ($131,000) for relief, Xinhua said. The provincial civil affairs department was sending 2,000 tents, 2,000 quilts and 2,000 items of clothing to the stricken area.Ning'er county, covering an area of 3,670 sq km (1,400 sq miles) within the city limits, has a population of 190,000.Pu'er, home of the tea of the same name, lies near to the border with Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam. The epicenter of the quake was 23.0 degrees north and 101.1 degrees east.Earthquakes are common in China. In August last year, a 5.1 magnitude quake rocked Yunnan, killing two people.

Quake jolts Philippine capital Sun Jun 3, 7:36 AM ET

MANILA, Philippines - A moderate earthquake shook the Philippine capital's seaside tourist district and outlying rural regions late Sunday, but was not strong enough to cause any injuries or damage, officials said. The temblor had a preliminary magnitude of 5.1, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. It was centered at sea about 30 miles southwest of Naga City in the northeastern province of Camarines Sur, according to the government's Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology.
Mountainous Camarines Sur is about 185 miles southeast of Manila. No tsunami was expected, government seismologist Esmeralda Banganan said. The quake was felt shortly after nightfall in Manila's Ermita tourist district, including in a number of buildings and hotels facing Manila Bay. It was also felt in at least three provinces outside Manila, Banganan said. The Philippine archipelago lies in the so-called Pacific Ring of Fire, where earthquakes and volcanic activities are common.

Magnitude 4.6 quake shakes eastern Japan Sat Jun 2, 2:05 AM ET

TOKYO (Reuters) - An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.6 shook eastern Japan, including Tokyo, on Saturday, the Meteorological Agency said. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage from the quake that struck around 2:46 p.m. (0546 GMT).

No tsunami warning was issued. The focus of the tremor was 60 km (37 miles) underground in Ibaraki prefecture, just northeast of Tokyo, the agency said. Earthquakes are common in Japan, one of the world's most seismically active areas. The country accounts for about 20 percent of all earthquakes of magnitude 6
or greater. In October 2004, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.8 struck the Niigata region of northern Japan, killing 65 people and injuring more than 3,000.That was the deadliest quake since a magnitude 7.3 tremor hit the city of Kobe in 1995, killing more than 6,400.

Tropical Storm Barbara regains strength JUNE 1,07

MEXICO CITY - The second named storm of the eastern Pacific hurricane season grew back to tropical storm force on Friday and it was expected to hit the coast of Mexico or Guatemala over the weekend.

A tropical storm watch was in force from Sipacate, Guatemala, to Barra de Tonala, Mexico, and the U.S. Hurricane Center in Miami warned that Tropical Storm Barbara could unleash heavy rains, life-threatening flooding and mudslides. With maximum winds of 45 mph, the storm was centered about 185 miles southwest of the Guatemala-Mexico border and was slowly moving east at 5 mph. It was forecast to turn north as early as Friday night and hit land in Guatemala or Mexico within 36 hours, the hurricane center said.Barbara had weakened to a tropical depression late Thursday.

The first tropical storm of the eastern Pacific's 2007 season, Alvin, faded at sea Thursday. The eastern Pacific hurricane season opened May 15.

Poll: Coast not ready for hurricanes By JENNIFER KAY, Associated Press Writer Thu May 31, 6:21 PM ET

MIAMI - Many people along the Atlantic and Gulf Coasts still lack a hurricane survival plan and don't feel vulnerable to storms, despite Katrina's dramatic damage and pleas from emergency officials for residents to prepare before the season starts, according to a poll released Thursday. The six-month Atlantic season starts Friday, and forecasters have predicted an above-average year: 13 to 17 named storms, with seven to 10 of them becoming hurricanes and three to five of those reaching at least Category 3 strength.

One forecaster said odds were high that a major hurricane would hit the U.S. this year.Nevertheless, 44 percent of people who live within 30 miles of the shore in 18 Atlantic and Gulf Coast states say they feel not too vulnerable or not at all vulnerable to a hurricane or to related tornadoes and flooding, according to the Mason-Dixon poll. The poll also surveyed people farther inland in those states and found those residents were not as concerned or as prepared for hurricanes.

But forecasters warn that flooding and powerful winds from hurricanes can reach well inland. Computer models, for example, show that a Category 3 storm hitting the New York metropolitan area could spread hurricane-force winds into Vermont and Canada. National Hurricane Center Director Bill Proenza said a population shift to the nation's coastlines may contribute to the lack of readiness. We actually have more and more people ... with little or no experience with hurricanes and tropical storms, Proenza said.Cathy Miller, who lives on North Carolina's narrow Ocracoke Island, accessible only by ferry, says she won't evacuate unless it's a Category 4 or worse hurricane. I've never evacuated, Miller said. Every time I say that, though, I knock on wood. Public safety officials tell residents to stockpile at least a three-day supply of bottled water, nonperishable food and medicine.

In Florida, officials urged residents to take advantage of a state sales tax holiday from Friday to June 12 on flashlights, gasoline cans, weather radios, plastic tarps and other storm preparedness items.Florida residents were more prepared than people in other states. Mason-Dixon also did a poll just of Floridians and found about two-thirds had a disaster plan, prepared a survival kit or said they felt vulnerable to hurricanes. In the larger poll, about 40 percent of people who live within 30 miles of the coast had no hurricane survival kit.Despite predictions for a busy season, public safety officials worry that an uneventful 2006 lulled residents into complacency; there were only 10 named storms, and the two that hit the U.S. were weak.Researcher William Gray, based at Colorado State University, said Thursday there was a 74 percent chance of a major hurricane hitting the U.S. coast this year.

His updated forecast still predicts 17 named storms and nine hurricanes, five of them intense. There is a 50 percent chance of a major hurricane making landfall on the East Coast, including the Florida Peninsula, according to the new forecast; the long-term average is 31 percent. The chance of a major hurricane hitting the Gulf Coast between the Florida Panhandle and Brownsville, Texas, is 49 percent; the long-term average is 30 percent. There is also an above-average chance of a major hurricane making landfall in the Caribbean, Gray said.

The 2005 season set a record with 28 named storms, 15 of them hurricanes; four of those hurricanes hit the U.S. coast, including Katrina, the third deadliest in U.S. history with a death toll topping 1,500.

Nobody in this country thought we could lose 1,000 people in a hurricane, said Craig Fugate, director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management. We had too much technology, too good data, satellites and the best warning system in the world and it happened. Preparation is how we change that.

The poll was commissioned by the organizers of the 2007 National Hurricane Survival Initiative. The group includes the National Hurricane Center, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the National Emergency Management Association, the Salvation Army and others. Other sponsors were Plylox Inc., which makes clips that protect windows from wind damage, and insurance company Travelers. The May 10-15 telephone poll was conducted among people in 18 states along the Gulf and Atlantic Coasts. Among the 422 people who live within 30 miles of the coast, the margin of sampling error was plus or minus 5 percentage points. Tornado tears through eastern Iowa BY DAVID PITT, Associated Press Writer
Sat Jun 2, 5:32 AM ET

FRUITLAND, Iowa - Kelly Goodwin sifted through the rubble of what used to be her kitchen, dazed after a tornado ripped through eastern Iowa and flattened dozens of homes in three communities.

Hours earlier, she was spending a quiet afternoon in her home when she heard the wind howl. She glanced out the window, saw a tree rip from the ground and hurried to the basement. When I came back up I saw all this, Goodwin said, waving her arms at the wreckage.A couple blocks away, the post office didn't fair any better. Its four walls were ripped away, leaving a clear view of post office boxes and equipment inside amid piles of rubble and tree limbs.Similar scenes of destruction were visible across Muscatine County and surrounding areas, where a tornado Friday tore through businesses and homes, knocked down trees and power lines but caused only minor injuries. Heavy rains also poured across the region, causing flooding and several traffic accidents, including one fatal wreck near Coralville.

The tornado, with winds between 136 to 140 mph, struck the town of Grandview, went north through Fruitland and dissipated in the Muscatine area about 10 minutes later, said Jeff Zogg, a forecaster with the National Weather Service in Davenport.Gov. Chet Culver declared a disaster emergency for Jackson, Louisa and Muscatine counties, authorizing state and local authorities to assist in the cleanup.

In Grandview, a town of about 600, oak trees were shredded in various parts of town and debris from flattened homes littered the streets. One brick house stood roofless, while a few uprooted trees had busted through a nearby garage.Darryl Erickson, a pastor at Grandview Bible Church, said he was in his office when the twister hit.All of a sudden it started getting darker and I heard a lot of wind, Erickson said. I looked out the window and saw stuff flying. And it was all over just like that.

His church sustained only minor damage and a downed power line. Nearby, a roof had landed on a pickup truck.Mark Husar, the general manager of a car dealership in Muscatine, population 23,000, said he saw a cloud of debris blowing in his direction and quickly moved employees and customers into a storm shelter.I've got 80 cars with windows blown out, two cars on top of cars, my roof is ripped off, he said. Applebee's, which is about 50 yards away their front window is blown out and I've got McDonald's they're about 1 1/2 blocks away in my lot. Their roof is partially torn off.The ordeal lasted about 15 seconds, Husar said. Another car dealership across the street was untouched, he said.

Between 15 and 20 roads have been closed while crews repair downed power lines and clear the streets of debris, said Jeff Carter, Muscatine County's emergency management coordinator. He expects most roads should reopen Saturday. Some of it looks pretty bad, he said, noting that he's already seen several homes with major damage.Boom, they're all gone, Carter said. Nothing but rubble is left.Several buildings also sustained significant damage near Bellevue in northeast Iowa, though weather officials said they have not confirmed whether that was caused by a tornado. In Muscatine, Pizza Hut manager Gary Hawn said had a restaurant full of customers and employees when the tornado alarm sounded. He ushered everyone into the walk-in refrigerator. Moments later, it was over, he said. Hawn said he went outside and saw debris strewn across the parking lot, including the roof of a nearby apartment complex. The signs of several nearby fast food restaurants had blown off, he said, and other debris had damaged and destroyed cars in the parking lot. We were lucky. The winds were really strong. We just got everybody in the walk-in, and everybody was safe, he said.

Tropical storm brings rain to dry Fla. By MATT SEDENSKY, Associated Press Writer JUN 2,07

MIAMI - Tropical Storm Barry brought heavy rain to a parched Florida Saturday, along with strong winds and heavy surf along the state's Gulf coast. At 8 a.m. EDT, Barry was centered in the Gulf of Mexico about 85 miles southwest of Tampa. It had sustained winds of about 50 mph near the center with higher gusts and was moving north-northeast at about 20 mph. Wind gusts of up to 47 mph were reported on the state's southern and eastern coasts Saturday morning.

Rain was falling throughout Florida, where droughts conditions have left Lake Okeechobee at its lowest recorded level and allowed an isolated brush fire on the Georgia-Florida border to burn for weeks. The storm was expected to drop 3 to 6 inches of rain on parts of the state Saturday. Isolated areas could get up to 10 inches of rain.By Saturday morning, Barry had brought nearly 6 inches of rain to Melbourne and nearly 7 inches to West Palm Beach. It'll help a little bit, but everyone is so far below rainfall that we're still going to be under drought conditions, said Kim Brabander, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. To really alleviate the drought conditions we're going to need anywhere from 30 to 40 inches of rain.

The storm was not expected to strengthen into a hurricane, said Dave Roberts, a hurricane specialist at the National Hurricane Center.A tropical storm warning was issued from Bonita Beach on Florida's southwest coast northward to Keaton Beach, near the state's Big Bend area, as Barry was expected to make landfall on the Peninsula's central or northern Gulf coast by Saturday evening. A tropical storm
watch was issued for the area between Keaton Beach west to St. Marks, south of Tallahassee. The National Weather Service also issued a tornado watch for 26 Florida counties as Barry inched closer.

The storm's winds were forecast to weaken as it moves north, but Barry was expected to bring rain across the Atlantic seaboard, reaching North Carolina by late Sunday and New England by late Monday. The storm developed Friday, the first official day of a hurricane season that forecasters have said they expect to be busier than normal. The National Weather Service said it expects 13 to 17 tropical storms, with seven to 10 becoming hurricanes and three to five in the strong category.

There is no correlation at all between activity in the early part of the season and later parts, said Lixion Avila, a hurricane specialist at the center. The hurricane center said Barry threatened to bring dangerous battering waves, coastal flooding up to 5 feet.

Tropical storm force winds extended outward up to 90 miles, forecasters said.Barry formed more than three weeks after the first named storm of the year Subtropical Storm Andrea developed off Florida's eastern coast. Andrea skirted the southern Atlantic coast but caused minimal damage.

YOU ARE THE LAST HOPE JUNE 1,07

Few things are more heartrending than the sight of a child in need—sick, hungry, or lonely, without adequate adult support and guidance or anyone to console him.Sadly, I have seen many such children during my trips to the former Soviet Union (FSU) to coordinate aid efforts for The Fellowship's Isaiah 58 program.

There, it is not uncommon to go the dilapidated apartment of an elderly, impoverished Jewish widow to visit and deliver a meal, only to discover that she is also caring for her grandchildren, who would otherwise be living on the street or in a state-run institution. Indeed, life on the street, as horrible as it is, is not much worse than life in some state orphanages in the FSU, where abuse and neglect of children run rampant. To help remedy this terrible situation, The Fellowship is launching a new initiative through our Isaiah 58 program to assist the forgotten Jewish children of the FSU, who are suffering from debilitating poverty, physical and emotional disabilities, malnutrition, and neglect. We call it Angels of Hope—because those who help these desperate children truly attain the status of angels in their eyes.

Through our network of Jewish family service centers established by our Isaiah 58 partners in the field, we regularly provide life-giving assistance to a portion of these needy children.

Currently, these partners assist 23,000 poor children throughout the FSU with food, clothing, medical care, and other essential goods and services. But we recently received a very disturbing report estimating that there are an additional 27,000 children not being served because of lack of funds—and that 6,000 of these are living in abject poverty and are greatly in need of immediate intervention if they are to survive.

Through our partners, we can provide the necessary help for just $144 for an entire year. It is an astonishingly small amount that can nevertheless turn a child's life around forever. Today, I invite you to give a gift of $36 to provide basic care for a child in the FSU for three months, $72 for six months…or even $144 for an entire year. Please give generously today to our Angels of Hope campaign, knowing that, in many cases, your gift will literally make the difference between life and death for a suffering Jewish child in the FSU.

The Psalmist said, For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone (Psalm 91:11-12). Thank you, dear friend, for acting as an Angel of Hope to these suffering Jewish boys and girls through your gift—for lifting them up in your hands and embracing them as your own. May God bless you richly, even as you have blessed the Jewish people.

Please make an online gift today.

Lieberman: Complete Disengagement, Declare Gaza Enemy State
by Ezra HaLevi (INN) JUNE 1,07

Politicians and public figures have weighed in over the past days with suggestions for how to bring an end to the rocket attacks from Gaza. Minister of Strategic Affairs Avigdor Lieberman announced a plan Thursday that calls for a completion of the Disengagement. Lieberman explained to Army Radio:

We expelled all the Jews from Gaza and left there completely, but still provide it with economic support, water and electricity. We must sever all connections with Gaza and declare it an independent enemy entity, he said. There is no reason Egypt cannot supply the electricity and water for Gaza and let the European Union build infrastructure and provide security if they care about the poor Palestinians so much, he added. Membership in the axis of evil has a heavy price financially,
politically, and militarily.

Lieberman said his plan includes a complete closure of all crossings between Gaza and Israel through which PA Arab workers currently cross into Israel and through which aid passes to Gaza. His plan also calls for bombing Gaza neighborhood in response to rocket-fire, ending visitation rights for PA terrorists until kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit is released, severing Gaza from Judea and Samaria and stopping diplomatic contacts with any and all PA officials, including Fatah chief Mahmoud Abbas. NATO troops would be called upon to provide security and the European Union would be invited to provide infrastructure and jobs for PA Arabs. Lieberman said the plan would come into effect in 2008 and be modeled after how Israel related to the Sinai after withdrawal. Just as Israel did not continue to provide anything to Sinai after it withdrew, there is no reason why it should act any differently toward Gaza, especially in the current situation, he said. The Yisrael Beiteinu (Israel is Our Home) chairman said he would present his plan to Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and the rest of the government Thursday.

Other Proposals

Ministers Meir Sheetrit (Kadima) and Rafi Eitan (Pensioners) proposed a concept similar to Lieberman's, in terms of the IDFs response to Kassam rockets, at Wednesdays Security Cabinet meeting. They suggested that Israel produce its own version of the Kassam rocket and fire it at targets in Gaza each time Kassams are fired toward Israel. They said such a rocket would cost very little but recreate the psychological pressure felt by residents of Sderot among Gazas civilian population.
Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor Eli Yishai (Shas) suggested that Israel launch air strikes to destroy entire PA villages in response to rocket fire, after warning the Arab residents to vacate their homes. Fellow Shas MK Yitzhak Cohen suggested Israel cut off electricity, water and gas to Gaza an idea backed by Shabak (General Security Service) chief Yuval Diskin and rehashed in Lierbmans proposal. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert reportedly rejected those proposals, but ordered the IDF to
continue to apply pressure via targeted killings and air strikes on Hamas targets.

Left-wing MKs Avshalom Vilan (Meretz) and Zahava Gal-On (Meretz), meanwhile, have been enthusiastically promoting a plan to invite the Arab league to take responsibility for Gaza and coordinate a multi-national force together with the European Union to deploy there. The two say they have presented the idea to European and PA officials and plan to present it to Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, who has expressed interest in the deployment of foreign troops along Israels Gaza border.
Minister Rafi Eitan (Pensioners) recently suggested a similar idea, involving bringing Egyptian troops into Gaza and Jordanians into Judea and Samaria. The same thing [as happened following the Second Lebanon War the deployment of international troops. sooner or later, will happen in the Gaza Strip, with the senior partner in such a force being Egypt because it has no choice, Eitan told government radio.

When the Egyptians are there, when 500 or 600 (Palestinian) civilians are killed, no one will say anything. That is what will eventually happen. We are getting there, gradually. Eitan added that he also sees a future deployment of Jordanians in Judea and Samaria.Defense Minister Amir Peretz, speaking at a Tel Aviv University conference Wednesday evening, said that Israel has no plans to enter Gaza, because restraint is power.Peretz added later on in the speech that if there is no choice, the IDF will operate in Gaza.

Russians Bidding for Control in Downtown Jerusalem
by Hillel Fendel (INN) JUNE 1,07

If current negotiations with the Russians succeed, a large complex in central Jerusalem will be handed over to control of the Russian government. The area in question is part or all of what is known as the Russian Compound, so named because it was built and once owned by the Russian government. It was originally constructed as one of the first complexes outside the Old City of Jerusalem, for the purpose of housing the thousands of Christian Russian pilgrims who wished to visit the holy city.

Though the 17-acre area in the heart of Jerusalem, between Jaffa, HaNeviim, and Shivtei Yisrael Streets, was once a bustling center with impressively-built structures, it now is used largely as a courthouse and detention center. The Russian government has of late informed various Israeli Prime Ministers that it would like to reclaim the area - at a price of $100 million.

Secret Talks

Negotiations have been underway during the regimes of Ehud Barak, Ariel Sharon, and Ehud Olmert - very secretly, so as not to arouse the expected storm of public protest. Despite the secret nature of the talks, Arutz-7's Shimon Cohen reports that Foreign Ministry sources say the talks regarding the Russian property are proceeding to the satisfaction of both sides... though a final agreement has not yet been reached. The Foreign Ministry wishes to emphasize that the area is not being sold, but rather being returned to its former owners. It is assumed that the deal will only be finalized after the Jerusalem Magistrates Court is able to be relocated to a new building currently being constructed.

A Historic Spot

Legend says that the current-day location of the Russian Compound was the jump-off point for the armies of both Sennacherib and Titus in their respective military campaigns, centuries apart, against the Jewish city. (Sennacherib lost, Titus succeeded.)

Terrorized - by Fred Thompson June 01,07

Let me ask you a hypothetical question. What do you think America would do if Canadian soldiers were firing dozens of missiles every day into Buffalo, N.Y.? What do you think our response would be if Mexican troops for two years had launched daily rocket attacks on San Diego — and bragged about it? I can tell you, our response would look nothing like Israel’s restrained and pinpoint reactions to daily missile attacks from Gaza. We would use whatever means necessary to win the war. There would likely be numerous casualties on our enemy’s side, but we would rightfully hold those who attacked us responsible. More than 1,300 rockets have been fired into Israel from Gaza since Palestinians were given control two years ago. Israelis, however, have gone to incredible lengths to stop the war against them without harming Palestinian non-combatants. But make no mistake, Israel is at war. The elected Hamas government regularly repeats its official promise to destroy Israel entirely and replace it with an Islamic state. Hamas openly took credit for killing one woman and wounding dozens more last week alone.

The Palestinian strategy is to purposely target and kill Israeli civilians. Then, when Israel goes after those launching the attacks, Palestinians claim to be the victims. If Palestinian civilians aren’t hurt in the Israeli attacks, they stage injuries and deaths.Too often, they garner sympathy and support from a gullible or anti-Semitic media in the international community. Israelis, themselves, are often incapable of facing the damage they inflict in self-defense. Knowing this, Islamic extremists are using their own populations as human shields.I’m beginning to wonder how much longer this vicious plot will work though. International sympathy for Palestinians has diminished as the same Islamofascist extremists have brought havoc to Madrid, Bali, Somalia, London and elsewhere. More importantly, Israelis themselves are suffering so badly, they may be on the verge of losing their sympathy for the people who have sworn to kill them. Imagine what it would be like to live, knowing that a rocket could fall on you or your children at any minute. Half of those who live nearest to Gaza have fled their homes.

Those remaining are traumatized by daily warning sirens and explosions. The irony is that Israel has the military might to easily win the war that is being waged against them today. They haven’t used that might, in the past, out of compassion for Palestinian civilians and because it could trigger a wider regional conflict.

That balance of power is about to change, though. If Iran develops nuclear weapons, the very existence of this tiny nation of Israel will be threatened. The Iranian regime has left little doubt that it intends to see Israel wiped off the map.

Hamas is using the same language, not coincidentally, and has announced it will begin launching missiles into Israel from the West Bank too. If the world doesn’t act to stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions, it must be prepared for the consequences of Israel defending itself. What Does the Bible Say About The Jewish Links To The Holy Land?

The Jews’ link with the land of Israel dates back almost four thousand years. It began when God told Abraham to leave his homeland and go to a land that I will show thee. Abraham had such great faith and trust in God that he left his home and community. He was reassured by the divine promise, I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse (Genesis 12:3). Israel is known by a number of names, including Canaan, Eretz Yisrael, Zion, or simply as ha-aretz, meaning the Band, a sign of its belovedness and significance. It is the Holy Land that God promised Abraham that he and his descendants would inherit as an eternal possession. In the words of the Bible, On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram and said, To your descendants I give this land …(Genesis 15:18).

It is interesting to note that the Hebrew verb used in the Scriptures is natati, meaning I have given (past tense). This passage implies that God had already given the land to the Jews at some earlier time, though this is the first record ofsuch a promise. Rabbinic commentators suggest, however, that God had set aside the land of Israel for His people already at the time of Creation.

Thus t he Jewish rights to the land were always part of the very fabric of Creation. They are eternal and unconditional. God promised Abraham, The whole land of Canaan, where you are now an alien, I will give as an everlasting possession to you and your descendants after you; and I will be their God (Genesis 17:8). God also covenanted with Ishmael, regarded as the father of the Arab people.

However, that promise was for nationhood, not land. But the land of Israel was both a Divine promise and the home of our forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and their wives, Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel and Leah. For the past 3,700 years there has been a Jewish presence in the Holy Land. Israel is at the core of Jewish identity. The land shapes the Jews’ self image and character as a community covenanted with God. Indeed, to repudiate the link between the Jews and the land of Israel is to repudiate the Bible itself and to denigrate the centrality of Israel for God’s people is to distort God’s word.

Crowd, police clash at protest of G-8 By DAVID RISING, Associated Press Writer JUN 2,07

ROSTOCK, Germany - Masked demonstrators protesting the upcoming G-8 summit meeting hurled stones and flagpoles at police on Saturday, a spokeswoman said, describing a scene of chaos in the harbor of this northern port city.

Some 13,000 police were on hand, and authorities said about 30,000 protesters had come for the daylong demonstration under the motto another world is possible. There are massive assaults on police officers at the city's harbor right now, said Cordula Feichtinger, a police spokeswoman. The situation is currently very chaotic and we have to get it under control before I can tell you how many people have been arrested. She said one officer was slightly injured.

Earlier, a group of protesters attacked the hotel where an American delegation was supposed to stay during the G-8 summit this week, and some demonstrators also battered police cars with rocks, bottles and paint bombs, authorities said.Police helicopters hovered overhead as thousands of demonstrators marched behind a truck streaming out soap bubbles and carrying a rock band that played anti-globalization songs. The march began without violence, and most of the demonstrators remained peaceful. But some taunted members of the police detachment, and several hundred wore bandanas across their faces with sweat shirt hoods pulled down low to obscure their identities. The protesters from around Europe and the rest of the world gathered at two locations early in the day for rallies, then marched in two groups along three-mile routes to converge on the harbor for the main demonstration the biggest so far against the June 6-8 summit in the northern resort town of Heiligendamm.

The world shaped by the dominance of the G-8 is a world of war, hunger, social divisions, environmental destruction and barriers against migrants and refugees, organizers said in leaflets handed out on the streets. Most stores along the route had nailed up there windows ahead of the protests with the exception of sausage stands and other fast food restaurants.Dozens of different groups, including communists, anarchists and environmentalists, were taking part and messages were mixed: Some urged action from the G-8 countries in the fight against HIV/AIDS, African poverty and climate change, while others questioned the legitimacy of the existence of the G-8 itself. Among the organizers were the anti-globalization group Attac, radical leftists, Christian groups, the Green Party and others.

The protest comes ahead of the three-day summit that opens Wednesday in the nearby northern resort town of Heiligendamm, where German Chancellor Angela Merkel hosts the leaders of the other G-8 nations Britain, France, Japan, Italy, Russia, Canada, and the United States.

Kay Stenzel woke at 3 a.m. to drive in from the eastern city of Bautzen with four friends to voice their discontent with the G-8 leaders. They want to impose their wills upon the poor nations, he said, waving a red flag emblazoned with a black cat an animal he chose because it was unruly.

Israeli army damages Nablus shops, homes Sat Jun 2, 6:55 AM ET

NABLUS, West Bank - Dozens of Palestinian shops and homes were damaged, and water, sewage and electrical lines were cut in the West Bank town of Nablus on Saturday when the Israeli army blasted concrete barriers blocking entrances to the crowded Old City, officials at City Hall said.

The predawn explosions left thousands without running water and electricity, though repair teams were out by midmorning.Said Handiyeh, a Nablus city council member, estimated the damage at $100,000. He said a 60-year old woman was slightly hurt by shattering glass. The military, which conducts frequent arrest raids against militants in Nablus, said the concrete blocks impeded soldiers from operating within the city. Soldiers operating in Nablus regularly uncover explosives and munitions that are being readied for attacks on Israelis, the military said.Three Palestinian Cabinet ministers came to the city to review the damage.Israel has been ruling the Palestinian people for 40 years, and what is happening to Nablus is out-and-out war, said one of the three, Information Minister Mustafa Barghouti. Israel ... is choking the city with barriers.

REVELATION 18:1-24 (DESTRUCTION OF POLITICAL BABYLON) (NUKED)
1 And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a strong voice, saying, Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and is become the habitation of devils, and the hold of every foul spirit, and a cage of every unclean and hateful bird.
3 For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
6 Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.
7 How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
9 And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
10 Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
11 And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
12 The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13 And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.
14 And the fruits that thy soul lusted after are departed from thee, and all things which were dainty and goodly are departed from thee, and thou shalt find them no more at all.
15 The merchants of these things, which were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
16 And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
17 For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
18 And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!
19 And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
20 Rejoice over her, thou heaven, and ye holy apostles and prophets; for God hath avenged you on her.
21 And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.
22 And the voice of harpers, and musicians, and of pipers, and trumpeters, shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;
23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
24 And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.

WELL NOW SCEPTICS TELL ME THE BIBLE IS NOT COMING TO PASS. THE BIBLE SAYS RUSSIA WILL ATTACK AMERICA SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE. THE POLITICAL BABYLON WILL BE DESTROYED BY FIRE FROM A NORTH COUNTRY, DIRECTLY NORTH OF JERUSALEM IS RUSSIA, SO WE KNOW RUSSIA WILL NUKE THE US SOMEWHERE DOWN THE LINE.

Putin warns on U.S. missiles in Europe By NICOLE WINFIELD, Associated Press Writer
JUNE 3,07

ROME - Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that U.S. plans to build a missile defense system in Eastern Europe would force Moscow to target its weapons against Europe. The threat, in an interview published Sunday in Italy's Corriere della Sera and other foreign media, marked one of Putin's most strident statements to date against the U.S. plans and came just days before he is to join President Bush and other leaders at a Group of Eight summit in Germany. In the interview, Putin was asked whether the proposed missile defense shield would compel Moscow to direct its own missiles at locations and U.S. military sites in Europe, as during the Cold War.If the American nuclear potential grows in European territory, we have to give ourselves new targets in Europe, Putin said, according to Corriere. It is up to our military to define these targets, in addition to defining the choice between ballistic and cruise missiles.Russia has not overtly targeted Europe since agreeing after the fall of the Soviet Union not to direct missiles against specific countries, according to Pavel Felgenhauer, an independent military analyst based in Moscow. He added however, that that was simple technical matter, since a missile can be given a target within minutes.

Previously, some Russian military officials have said Moscow could aim Russian weapons at Europe-based missile systems.Czech Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek accused Russia on Sunday of misleading the public about the planned missile defense bases in the Czech Republic and Poland to hide Russia's internal problems.Russia needs an outside enemy to hide problems at home, Topolanek said. The White House had no comment Sunday on Putin's new warning, referring instead to the comments of National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley, who was questioned Friday about the missile defense shield in advance of the G-8 summit.Of course the deployment that we're talking
about in Europe is not about Russia at all, Hadley said. It's not aimed at Russia. ... It's a very limited capability about other states, like Iran, who are developing ballistic missiles and potentially the weapons of mass destruction that those missiles could deliver. The Polish president insisted the missile shield was purely to prevent attacks, neutralize their effects.

But I don't wonder at Russian present tactics because the issue is whether the Russian state .... will regain influence or not, Poland's President Lech Kaczynski told Polish reporters in Rome. The United States made a formal request in January to place a radar base in a military area southwest of Prague, Czech Republic, and 10 interceptor missiles in neighboring Poland as part of plans for a missile defense shield that Washington says would protect against a potential threat from Iran. The U.S. plans have brought a strong reaction from Russia, which accuses the United States of threatening Russian territory and of trying to start a new arms race.Putin was interviewed Friday at his dacha by journalists from each of the G-8 countries, Corriere said. The three-day summit, Wednesday to Friday at the Baltic Sea resort of Heiligendamm, will bring together leaders of the United States, Britain, Canada, Germany, France, Italy, Russia, and Japan.Associated Press writer Maria Danilova contributed to this report from Moscow.
