WHAT DOES THE BIBLE SAY THE MARK OF THE BEAST IS-MICROCHIP IMPLANTED UNDER YOUR SKIN-YES.
26 Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold,(7X OR 7-DEGREES HOTTER) as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people,(ISRAEL) and healeth the stroke of their wound.
27 Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened,(DAY LIGHT HOURS SHORTENED) there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake (ISRAELS SAKE) those days shall be shortened (Daylight hours shortened)(THE ASTEROID HITS EARTH HERE)
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments.
8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given unto him to scorch men with fire.
9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.
FIRES AND EXPLOSIONS
7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
Hospital visits spike in B.C. as smoky air from wildfires persists-[The Canadian Press]-YAHOONEWS-August 5, 2017
VANCOUVER — Poor air quality persists throughout the southern half of British Columbia as tinder-dry conditions continue to fuel wildfires.Dr. Bonnie Henry, deputy provincial health officer, said there has been a recent spike in emergency calls and hospital visits from people suffering from respiratory and other conditions related to the smoke and heat, particularly in the Lower Mainland."Depending on the day and the time of day, the increase can be from 20 per cent to 50 per cent more than we've seen in the past 10 years in the same area," Henry said. The BC Ambulance Service is monitoring the situation and staffing accordingly, Henry said, and health authorities are reminding the public to take precautions such as exercising indoors to avoid health problems.Although a heat wave affecting the south coast ended Friday, Environment Canada is maintaining an air-quality advisory that spans from eastern Vancouver Island to Elk Valley on the Alberta boundary and as far north as Prince George.People with medical conditions, infants and the elderly are encouraged to stay indoors — ideally in air-conditioned environments — as well as keep any necessary medications handy and stay hydrated.Officials are also warning drivers to take it slow and be on alert for stopped vehicles and wildlife, since the smoke has reduced visibility on roads in some parts of the province. There are 125 wildfires burning across the province and officials say crews are gearing up for more fire activity as hot, dry conditions continue in the days ahead.Chief fire information officer Kevin Skrepnek said a chance of thunderstorms with lightning and little rain in some areas of the province in the coming days could spark more fires."If we do have lightning, there is a high likelihood we're going to be seeing new fires start as a result," he said. The dry conditions have also caused the so-called Elephant Hill wildfire that began near Ashcroft to balloon to 1,100 square kilometres in size, triggering an expansion of evacuation orders.About 600 staff and crew are responding to that fire, which Skrepnek said is a priority for the BC Wildfire Service."This fire has been an absolute monster," Skrepnek said, adding the terrain creates wind tunnels that fuel the blaze, making it a challenge for crews to control.Although there is no rain in the forecast, a low pressure system could move in during the latter part of next week, bringing inflow winds from the ocean that could help clear the smoke in coastal communities, Skrepnek said. There's also a chance cooler temperatures with some rain could come in the next 10 days, but Skrepnek added forecasting that far in advance isn't reliable."This situation in all likelihood is going to be getting worse before gets better and that's despite the extraordinary amount of hard work going on right now," he said. There are 30 evacuation orders displacing more than 6,000 people across the province, and dozens of evacuation alerts remain active.Linda Givetash, The Canadian Press.

Opinion-Setting course for strong and focused EU-EUOBSERVER-By Lars Loekke Rasmussen, Mark Rutte and Juha Sipila
BRUSSELS, 4. Aug, 08:35-The European Union is the world’s biggest trading block and most advanced economy. We have an extensive internal market based on a liberal free trade policy to thank for that.Trade within the EU and with the rest of the world is the basis of our prosperity. It creates growth and jobs and allows us to finance welfare states for our citizens. A continued liberal trade policy is essential if Europe is to remain among the world’s most important economic areas. To ensure its popular backing and legitimacy, the EU, as a community of values, needs to focus its decision-making, money, and efforts on the big things - on the policies that create real European added value and concrete results for our citizens. We must ensure a vibrant and modern economy. We need to deal efficiently with the challenge of illegal mass migration. And we must provide answers to Europe’s security challenges. The EU also needs to focus on implementing and enforcing the decisions we have taken. It is not the time for grand new projects, incomprehensible institutional discussions - nor for new treaty changes.-Strengthening the internal market-We sometimes tend to take the benefits of free trade for granted. Consumers and businesses have gotten used to the benefits of the single market with more than 500 million consumers - rather than 28 separate markets, with 28 sets of national rules and standards. It is a given that companies trade freely in Europe without technical barriers or customs controls. We sometimes complain about EU bureaucracy, but we tend to forget that a limited bureaucracy in Brussels often replaces much larger bureaucracies at national level. We need to remind ourselves of these great benefits and develop the internal market further. There are still areas where European markets are badly connected and consumer prices are too high. The European energy market, for example, needs to be much better integrated to allow for cheaper and cleaner energy.Along with new technological developments and the digitisation of our societies, we also need to develop a single digital market which allows for efficient and safe e-commerce and e-services within the EU. These are areas in which the EU must make concrete progress over the next years. The internal market also has a social dimension. We need modern employment and social standards throughout the internal market. The free movement of labour brings huge advantages to our economies across Europe. The right to seek jobs, study and conduct business across Europe is a basic pillar of the internal market. At the same time, we need to prevent social dumping and unfair access to benefits, and we should not allow exploitation, fraud or abuse of free movement. We need to deal with these issues in a pragmatic manner respecting the diversity of our national social systems and the key role of social partners. If our citizens experience that the way we administer European legislation is not fair or does not make sense to them, we risk undermining the support for free movement.-Embracing globalisation and free trade-The EU represents one third of world trade and has negotiated 45 free trade agreements with 75 countries around the world.More than 30 million jobs within the EU are supported by exports to non-EU countries. Lately, we have concluded extensive free trade agreements with South Korea, Canada - and most recently an extensive agreement with Japan. These trade agreements will boost European exports and create new jobs.It is our firm view that Europe must continue to champion free trade and a rules-based trade order globally, and offer leadership at a time when protectionism is gaining ground. There is a need to protect ourselves against unfair trade practices. But, at the same time, we should not let this be an excuse for protectionism. To be able to reap the benefits of globalisation and free trade, Europe needs to remain competitive.Protecting old uncompetitive industries against foreign competition will only make us poorer. We all need to innovate, adapt our industries, invest heavily in research and development, boost our educational systems and reform our labour markets. If we do not reform and adapt, our economies will suffer and we will betray both present and future generations of Europeans. But we also need to make sure that all our citizens reap the benefits of globalisation. Positive trade and growth figures are not enough in themselves. They need to be translated into new jobs and increases in incomes and opportunities for all our citizens. If not - as we have seen both in Europe and beyond - the anxiety and dissatisfaction from those who feel left out will fuel anger and disenchantment with our political systems. It is the responsibility of governments to design policies to distribute the wealth achieved through globalisation to all segments of our societies.Clearly reforms are necessary in the EU if we are to adapt to and benefit from globalisation. But we need to be clear about where responsibility lies. Some efforts need to be done at EU level - others are the responsibility of national governments.Developing a digital internal market and the European energy market can, of course, only be done at European level. There is also obvious added value in common European research and development programmes. But other efforts have to be done at national level.Member states’ governments need to take responsibility for labour market and educational reforms. European initiatives alone cannot do away with massive youth unemployment if inflexible labour market legislation at national level is to blame. We must not pretend that the EU can offer solutions to all problems at national level through new regulation or financial transfers.Let us not create expectations that cannot be met. Let us deliver results to our citizens in areas where the joined efforts make sense and create added European value.Lars Loekke Rasmussen is the prime minister of Denmark, Mark Rutte is the prime minister of the Netherlands, and Juha Sipila is the prime minister of Finland.
Irish PM proposes EU-UK customs union after Brexit By Eric Maurice-EUOBSERVER
BRUSSELS, 4. Aug, 15:38-The Irish prime minister has proposed an EU-UK custom union and a transition period for the UK as a way of keeping an economic open border between Ireland and Northern Ireland after Brexit."If the United Kingdom does not want to stay in the [EU] customs union, perhaps there can be an EU-UK customs union," Leo Varadkar said during his first visit to Northern Ireland on Friday (4 August)."We have one with Turkey. Surely we can have one with the United Kingdom?" he noted in a speech at Queen’s University Belfast. He said that he also favoured the UK joining the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) - alongside Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland - as a way for the country to remain associated with the EU single market."If this cannot be agreed now, then perhaps we can have a transition period during which the UK stays in the single market and customs union while these things are worked out," he said. The question of a transition period after the UK leaves the EU on 29 March 2018, in order to avoid a "cliff edge" scenario, has not yet been proposed by the EU Brexit negotiator Michel Barnier. It has been debated inside the UK government, with chancellor of the exchequer Philipp Hammond proposing a transition until the next UK election - due in 2022.In any case, the Irish PM warned in Belfast that "these solutions will not be offered, they will have to be asked for."Repeating the EU line, he said "this can happen only after sufficient progress is made on an agreement on the financial settlement, protecting citizens’ rights and key issues relating to Ireland."The European Commission declined to comment on Varadkar's proposals.Varadkar, who was born in 1979 and became Irish taoiseach in June, said "the challenge in our generation is Brexit".He said that, "like nearly everyone else on this island," he does not want to go back to the times when the border was "a place of bloodshed and violence, of checkpoints."He said that almost 20 years after the 1998 Good Friday agreement, which put an end to the sectarian violence known as the Troubles, "the vast majority of people on both parts of the island voted for a new future based on power sharing, equality, mutual respect and co-operation North/South and East/West."-'Who will speak for Northern Ireland?'-"There are people who do want a border, a trade border between the United Kingdom and the European Union and therefore a border between Ireland and Britain and a border across this island," Varadkar pointed out."These are advocates of a so-called hard Brexit."He pledged to do "all we can, in Brussels, in London and in Dublin, to achieve the best outcome for everyone on this island - to protect our peace, our freedom, our rights, and our prosperity."The Brexit negotiations have started, and the Irish PM's visit came as institutions in Northern Ireland have been on hold since the shared government between unionists and nationalists collapsed and elections in March failed to produce a majority.Varadkar, who was due to meet Northern Irish political leaders later in the day, said that his government, as well as the EU, now need to talk to Belfast."Who will speak for Northern Ireland and her 1.8 million people? Time is running out, and I fear there will be no extra time allowed," he insisted. One of the highly anticipated meetings for the Irish PM in Belfast was the one with the leader of the Democratic Unionist Party (DUP), Arlene Foster, who was Northern Irish first minister until January and is trying to form a new government. The DUP, following a with the Conservative Party, also provides UK prime minister Theresa May with a majority in parliament.Earlier this week, Foster accused Varadkar of "disrespecting the will of the British people" after he said that he would not help Brexiteers to build an economic barrier between the Northern Ireland and the Republic.

August 1, 2017 8:15 pm-U.S. company’s microchip implant allows employees to open doors, log in or pay for food-By Ivan Moreno The Associated Press.GLOBAL NEWS.
A Wisconsin company is offering to microchip its employees, enabling them to open doors, log onto their computers and purchase break room snacks with a simple swipe of the hand.Three Square Market, also known as 32M, said more than 50 employees are voluntarily getting implants Aug. 1 at what the company is calling a “chip party” at its River Falls headquarters. The chips are the size of a grain of rice and are inserted underneath the skin between the thumb and forefinger using a syringe. The procedure takes a couple of seconds. The technology is already available in Europe but company leaders say this is its first appearance in the U.S. They hope the $300 microchips can eventually be used on more than just snack machines – everything from air travel, public transit and storing medical information.“We want to be on the forefront of this. This is something’s that’s coming,” said Curt Giles, president at 32M, which operates 2,000 self-checkout kiosks for companies in 20 countries. The company is partnering with Sweden’s BioHax International, where employees have been using the implants. Three Square Market is paying for the employees’ microchips.Self-described ”body hacker,” Jowan Osterlund from Biohax Sweden, holds a small microchip implant, similar to those implanted into workers at the Epicenter digital innovation business centre during a party at the co-working space in central Stockholm, Tuesday March 14, 2017.Self-described ”body hacker,” Jowan Osterlund from Biohax Sweden, holds a small microchip implant, similar to those implanted into workers at the Epicenter digital innovation business centre during a party at the co-working space in central Stockholm, Tuesday March 14, 2017.While the technology has raised privacy concerns because of the potential to track a person’s whereabouts and purchases, officials at 32M said the data in the microchip is encrypted and does not use GPS. But a professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee said he worries about the potential for “function creep,” where the stated purpose of a technology ends up spilling over into other uses, including surveillance.“This is one of those technologies that sound like it might create some kind of efficiency, but to me the downside is just too great,” said Michael Zimmer, who teaches internet ethics and privacy at the college’s School of Information Studies.Zimmer said what 32M is trying to achieve can be done through less invasive means, like with an iPhone app.“Part of my general concern is that we don’t go too fast and that we understand the implications of these sorts of (technologies), which is why it’s good we’re having this conversation,” he said.Giles and other company executives say they’re having microchips implanted themselves next week but understand employees who don’t want to do it. About 85 people work at 32M.“We have employees who have said, ‘I just don’t want to do it.’ And we 100 per cent respect that,” said Tony Danna, vice-president of international development. Danna said the microchips can be easily removed in seconds, “just as if you were taking a sliver out of your finger.”The company is using the microchips in-house for now but other organizations have expressed interest in recent days, including a hospital chain, said Patrick McMullan, chief operating officer. He said he could not reveal the names of those who have expressed interest.“We need to be responsible with this. This is not something you can do fast,” McMullan said. “It has to be done right. You have to proceed slowly.”2017 The Canadian Press.
STOCKHOLM – The syringe slides in between the thumb and index finger. Then, with a click, a microchip is injected in the employee’s hand. Another “cyborg” is created. What could pass for a dystopian vision of the workplace is almost routine at the Swedish startup hub Epicenter. The company offers to implant its workers and startup members with microchips the size of grains of rice that function as swipe cards: to open doors, operate printers, or buy smoothies with a wave of the hand. The injections have become so popular that workers at Epicenter hold parties for those willing to get implanted.“The biggest benefit I think is convenience,” said Patrick Mesterton, co-founder and CEO of Epicenter. As a demonstration, he unlocks a door by merely waving near it. “It basically replaces a lot of things you have, other communication devices, whether it be credit cards or keys.”The technology in itself is not new. Such chips are used as virtual collar plates for pets. Companies use them to track deliveries. It’s just never been used to tag employees on a broad scale before. Epicenter and a handful of other companies are the first to make chip implants broadly available. And as with most new technologies, it raises security and privacy issues. While biologically safe, the data generated by the chips can show how often an employee comes to work or what they buy. Unlike company swipe cards or smartphones, which can generate the same data, a person cannot easily separate themselves from the chip.“Of course, putting things into your body is quite a big step to do and it was even for me at first,” said Mesterton, remembering how he initially had had doubts.“But then on the other hand, I mean, people have been implanting things into their body, like pacemakers and stuff to control your heart,” he said. “That’s a way, way more serious thing than having a small chip that can actually communicate with devices.”Epicenter, which is home to more than 100 companies and some 2,000 workers, began implanting workers in January 2015. Now, about 150 workers have them. A company based in Belgium also offers its employees such implants, and there are isolated cases around the world where tech enthusiasts have tried this out in recent years. The small implants use Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, the same as in contactless credit cards or mobile payments. When activated by a reader a few centimetres (inches) away, a small amount of data flows between the two devices via electromagnetic waves. The implants are “passive,” meaning they contain information that other devices can read, but cannot read information themselves.Ben Libberton, a microbiologist at Stockholm’s Karolinska Institute, says hackers could conceivably gain huge swathes of information from embedded microchips. The ethical dilemmas will become bigger the more sophisticated the microchips become.“The data that you could possibly get from a chip that is embedded in your body is a lot different from the data that you can get from a smartphone,” he says. “Conceptually you could get data about your health, you could get data about your whereabouts, how often you’re working, how long you’re working, if you’re taking toilet breaks and things like that.”Libberton said that if such data is collected, the big question remains of what happens to it, who uses it, and for what purpose. So far, Epicenter’s group of cyborgs doesn’t seem too concerned.“People ask me; ‘Are you chipped?’ and I say; ‘Yes, why not,”‘ said Fredric Kaijser, 47, the chief experience officer at Epicenter. “And they all get excited about privacy issues and what that means and so forth. And for me it’s just a matter of I like to try new things and just see it as more of an enabler and what that would bring into the future.”The implants have become so popular that Epicenter workers stage monthly events where attendees have the option of being “chipped” for free. That means visits from self-described “body hacker” Jowan Osterlund from Biohax Sweden who performs the “operation.”He injects the implants – using pre-loaded syringes – into the fleshy area of the hand, just next to the thumb. The process lasts a few seconds, and more often than not there are no screams and barely a drop of blood. “The next step for electronics is to move into the body,” he says.Sandra Haglof, 25, who works for Eventomatic, an events company that works with Epicenter, has had three piercings before, and her left hand barely shakes as Osterlund injects the small chip.“I want to be part of the future,” she laughs.2017 The Canadian Press.

North Korea crisis: China urges Pyongyang to end missile tests and accept UN sanctions-[The Independent]-Samuel Osborne-YAHOONEWS-August 6, 2017
The Chinese foreign minister has has urged his North Korean counterpart to abide by UN resolutions and stop provoking "the international community's goodwill" with missile launches and nuclear tests.Wang Yi said he and Ri Yong Ho had an intensive conversation during which China urged North Korea to maintain calm after they met in Manila on the sidelines of a regional meeting.Mr Wang also urged the US and South Korea "to stop increasing tensions" and said that all sides should return to negotiations.Their meeting came hours after the UN Security Council unanimously approved tough new sanctions to punish Pyongyang for its escalating nuclear and missile programmes. In an earlier statement, Mr Wang appealed to other governments to resume the six-nation talks involving the North, the United States, Russia, Japan and South Korea, as well as Beijing."The aim is to bring the peninsula nuclear issue back to the negotiating table and seek a solution through negotiations until the denuclearisation of the peninsula and the stability of the peninsula are achieved," he said.North Korea pulled out of the talks in 2009 to protest international condemnation of a long-range rocket launch.Last month, it test-launched two intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of reaching the US mainland. The US Secretary of State, Rex Tillerson, has said Washington wants eventually to talk to North Korea, but thinks discussions would not be productive if Pyongyang comes with the intention of maintaining its nuclear weapons.Mr Wang's statement repeated Beijing's proposal for a "double suspension," or a halt to North Korean nuclear development and to joint US-South Korean military exercises. It said that was the most reasonable way to ease tensions and create conditions for new talks.Susan Thornton, the top US diplomat for Asia, said the Washington isn't currently considering China's proposal to freeze US military exercises with South Korea in exchange for the North halting nuclear development. She said the US rejects any "moral equivalency" implied by the proposal.

Extreme weather seen killing 152,000 Europeans a year by 2100-[Reuters]-By Kate Kelland-YAHOONEWS-August 4, 2017
LONDON (Reuters) - Europe's death toll from weather disasters could rise 50-fold by the end of this century, with extreme heat alone killing more than 150,000 people a year by 2100 if nothing is done to curb the effects of climate change, scientists said on Friday. In a study in The Lancet Planetary Health journal, the scientists said their findings showed climate change placing a rapidly increasing burden on society, with two in three people in Europe likely to be affected if greenhouse gas emissions and extreme weather events are not controlled. The predictions, based on an assumption of no reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and no improvement in policies to reduce the impact of extreme climatic events, show European weather-related deaths rising from 3,000 a year between 1981 and 2010 to 152,000 a year between 2071 and 2100."Climate change is one of the biggest global threats to human health of the 21st century, and its peril to society will be increasingly connected to weather-driven hazards," said Giovanni Forzieri of the European Commission Joint Research Centre in Italy, who co-led the study. He said that "unless global warming is curbed as a matter of urgency", some 350 million Europeans could be exposed to harmful climate extremes on an annual basis by the end of the century. The study analysed the effects of the seven most harmful types of weather-related disaster – heat waves, cold waves, wildfires, droughts, river and coastal floods and windstorms – in the 28 countries of the European Union, plus Switzerland, Norway and Iceland. The team looked at disaster records from 1981 to 2010 to estimate population vulnerability, then combined this with modelling of how climate change might progress and how populations might increase and migrate.Their findings suggested heat waves would be the most lethal weather-related disaster and could cause 99 percent of all future weather-related deaths in Europe – rising from 2,700 deaths a year between 1981 and 2010 to 151,500 deaths a year in 2071 to 2100.The results also predicted a substantial rise in deaths from coastal flooding, from six deaths a year at the start of the century to 233 a year by the end of it.The researchers said climate change would be the main driver, accounting for 90 percent of the risk, while population growth, migration and urbanisation would account for 10 percent.Paul Wilkinson, a professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine who was not involved in the research, said its findings were worrying."Global warming could result in rapidly rising human impacts unless adequate adaptation measures are taken, with an especially steep rise in the mortality risks of extreme heat," he said. The findings add "further weight to the powerful argument for accelerating mitigation actions" to limit emissions, slow climate change and protect population health, Wilkinson said.(Reporting by Kate Kelland; Editing by Gareth Jones)
What's a total solar eclipse and why this one is so unusual-[The Canadian Press]-YAHOONEWS-August 5, 2017
CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. — Total solar eclipses occur every year or two or three, often in the middle of nowhere like the South Pacific or Antarctic. What makes the Aug. 21 eclipse so special is that it will cut diagonally across the entire United States. The path of totality — where day briefly becomes night — will pass over Oregon, continuing through the heartland all the way to Charleston, South Carolina. Those on the outskirts — well into Canada, Central America and even the top of South America — will be treated to a partial eclipse. The last time a total solar eclipse swept the whole width of the U.S. was in 1918.No tickets are required for this Monday show, just special eclipse glasses so you don't ruin your eyes. Some eclipse tidbits :WHAT'S A TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE? When the moon passes between Earth and the sun, and scores a bull's-eye by completely blotting out the sunlight, that's a total solar eclipse . The moon casts a shadow on our planet. Dead centre is where sky gazers get the full treatment. In this case, the total eclipse will last up to 2 minutes and 40-plus seconds in places. A partial eclipse will be visible along the periphery. Clouds could always spoil the view, so eclipse watchers need to be ready to split for somewhere with clear skies, if necessary.WHAT'S THE PATH ON AUG. 21? The path of totality will begin near Lincoln City, Oregon, as the lunar shadow makes its way into the U.S. This path will be 60 to 70 miles wide (97 to 113 kilometres ); the closer to the centre , the longer the darkness. Totality will cross from Oregon into Idaho, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina and, finally, South Carolina. It will also pass over tiny slivers of Montana and Iowa. The eclipse will last longest near Carbondale, Illinois: two minutes and 44 seconds. The biggest cities in the path include Nashville; Columbia and Charleston, South Carolina; Salem, Oregon; Casper, Wyoming; and just partially within, St. Louis and Kansas City, Missouri.LAST TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSES IN U.S.? Hawaii experienced a total solar eclipse in 1991. But the U.S. mainland hasn't seen a total solar eclipse since 1979, when it swooped across Oregon, Washington state, Idaho, Montana and North Dakota, then into Canada. Before that, in 1970, a total solar eclipse skirted the Atlantic coastline from Florida to Virginia. Totality — or total darkness — exceeded three minutes in 1970, longer than the one coming up. The country's last total solar eclipse stretching from coast to coast, on June 8, 1918 , came in over Oregon and Washington, and made a beeline for Florida.WHEN'S THE NEXT ONE? If you miss the Aug. 21 eclipse — or get bitten by the eclipse bug — you'll have to wait seven years to see another one in the continental U.S. The very next total solar eclipse will be in 2019 , but you'll have to be below the equator for a glimpse. We're talking the South Pacific, and Chile and Argentina. It's pretty much the same in 2020. For the U.S., the next total solar eclipse will occur on April 8, 2024 . The line of totality will cross from Texas, up through the Midwest, almost directly over Indianapolis, Cleveland and Buffalo, New York, up over New England and out over Maine and New Brunswick, Canada.Marcia Dunn, The Associated Press.
